Chapter 8: A Difficult End
#9 of Bunny Tails
Chapter 8 is ready for your viewing pleasure! Please note that there may be some violent scenes that some may not be comfortable with. I myself became slightly uncomfortable when putting this into words, yet I feel like the end result was worth all of the unsettling imagery in my head. This may be my last chapter of BT for a while as I have a few other ideas I want to explore and I do not want the story to get stale for anyone! Again comments and critiques are welcome and I hope you all enjoy!
Brent paced anxiously in his bedroom, his expression carving deep furrows into his brow. He knew his decision was the right one yet he could not help but think that more needed to be done. It just did not sit right with him. The bull might bully those smaller than him but that is just to toughen them up. The real world is not a friendly place and his dad always said that an alpha had to take what he wanted, even if the means to achieve that end were questionable. Yet this was too far. Brent had his morals, his mother had ensured that with no small amount of help from his father. They were great parents and the bovine knew that they would both frown upon some of the methods he used to achieve his status at the university. This decision they would support, he knew. Was it really enough?
The bull picked up his phone and flipped though his contacts, hovering over the one he knew he should dial. Allahna would want him to dial. She had brought something new into his life. He had approached her with his usual method of picking up females, yet her quick dismissal and reproach had done more than just surprised him. The feline had lit a fire within him that day and he had since pursued her with a fervor that he had yet to experience before. Her grace and beauty were intoxicating. It was as if the universe had thrown him into one huge romantic comedy as he strived to catch her eye and prove to her that he was legitimately interested in more than sex. He began caring about things that had not mattered much before; his manner of speaking, the way he dressed. All the others had been fun little trifles that he had used and thrown to the side, and those had been plentiful. Allahna was different. She made his heart ache with a longing just to be able to speak with her. Her voice was a beautiful sonata running through his ears. The shine of her fur and those big golden eyes left him weak in the knees. She had turned him into a babbling mess in an instant and he had been smitten ever since. She had finally agreed to give him a chance and the bull had exceeded her expectations. It was not that she wanted him to change. The feline stated that she wanted him to be more himself than he was being around everyone else. She saw through the façade he put on for the others. The real Brent enjoyed classical music and aged bourbon. The Brent everyone else knew was a rough and tumble bull with a sailor's mouth and a taste for cheap liquor. He had grown weary of that face, yet he had worn it for so long that it was like stepping into a second skin when he was around any of his teammates. Allahna was changing all of that.
He had begun dressing according to his station. Forgoing the tight t-shirts and tattered jeans and opting for polo shirts and fitted button downs. He had stopped drinking but for the occasional bourbon after a big exam to celebrate his rising grades. He had also begun to act as more of a guide to the underclassman, which had resulted in what he guessed he could call friends which is something he had not really had since Miles. Allahna had freed him from the bonds of his false self. The tough act was a need to fit in and allowed him to rise as his father had desired. He had presented his new self to his father and was happy to find his father proud that he had finally decided to "grow up". The bull had not the heart to tell his dad that he would have done this years ago if he had only known, yet it took the lead of a strong woman to give him the courage to be himself even if his father had not approved.
Brent stared at the phone in his paw, the number still highlighted on the screen. The bovine took a deep breath and hit dial. The phone rang twice before a voice on the other end answered in a less than friendly tone. "What do you want?"
Brent sniffed and struggled to keep his own tone civil. "I need you to meet me at the old athletic building. It's important."
"Important? What, you think I'm an idiot? Come on Brent. I have had it with this. Just leave us alone. I made my choice so deal with it."
"It's about Klaus."
The voice on the other end stopped, hesitating as if wondering if this was a setup. "What about him?"
"Meet me at the athletic building and you'll see." Brent was becoming agitated, though he could understand why the wolf would be hesitant to believe him.
"Brent this is a sick attempt at trying to get me to meet up with you. Klaus should be at home by now, you really think I would actually believe you would do anything to him? I know you and no matter what you want everyone to believe, you are not that type of fur."
Brent felt something snap within him. His temper rose and he felt the Brahma blood of his father burn hot. "Damn it Miles it is Chance you need to worry about!! That is one sick fuck and he has it out for you and that rabbit. I do not have time to explain, but you have to trust me here. We can talk about things after we save your mate's life." Brent heard the phone hang up, but he knew Miles would be there. The bull threw on an old workout shirt and ran out the door. There would be blood, but he had to make sure no one ended up dead. For his own safety as well as for Miles. He still considered Miles a friend and he would put his own life on the line to make sure he had the opportunity to med this friendship. This was the first step, and it was one hell of a leap.
Klaus stepped into the lit doorway and stopped when he saw the group of furs staring intently at him. Chance was at the fore of the group wearing nothing but the usual cocky grin that seemed commonplace on his face. The bunny glanced around and saw that the others were all wearing towels around their waists, their muzzles twisted with sickening grins and a few allowed their tails to show signs of eagerness. Klaus looked towards the door to see two large Rottweilers closing the door behind him. The taught muscles under their fur seemed almost ready to lash out, their eyes hungry for prey.
"Well now, took you long enough. I was beginning to think Tony was going to fail us. I'll have to commend him for not pussing out on us, though he did decide not to stick around for the fun. It's a shame really." The stallion stepped forward, member swinging as he stepped. It seemed to be growing in anticipation of what was to come. The equine's tail lashed back and forth as he leaned down to look the bunny in the eye. "So, nothing to say? Just going to roll over and take it without even putting up a fight? I was expecting a fight, but it seems you show your true colors."
Klaus stumbled back towards the door. The guard dogs grabbed his arms and held him tightly as Chance chuckled. The gears inside the bunny's head stopped all at once. One word stuck on his tongue which he dared not speak. It fought with his senses and screamed for release as he finally came to his senses. "Rape." The word escaped before he could stop himself from saying it. It was as though by saying it he was making the nightmare into a reality. He felt the room grow cold around him as the word reached Chance's ears which were twitching in delight. His grin grew and he looked around at the others who each had their own look of grim satisfaction.
Chance leaned down and whispered in the bunny's ear, "Bingo. I knew you were a smart one. Too bad ol' Brent was too much of a bitch to join us. I think he would have enjoyed himself." He leaned back and nickered eagerly. "Ready boys? Which one is first?"
A large alligator stepped forward, his bulk barely concealed by the towel wrapped around him. He tugged the covering and let it drop to the floor. His member was already huge and erect where it protruded from his body. It was a pale white, ghostly in appearance and unlike anything Klaus had ever seen before. "I'll have a go at the rabbit first, make sure he's good and stretched out for the rest of you."
"Bryce you are a king among furs I must say. Gerard, Gerhard, you two hold him tight while Bryce and I relieve him of those pesky clothes." The rottys held strong as Chance and Bryce stepped forward. Klaus screamed as he struggled to break free of the twin canines' grip. He lashed out with his hindpaw, just missing Chance in the process. He kicked again and again until the two canines caught his legs. Their arm span allowed them to easily stretch him out and hold him while the other two tore his clothes off roughly. Chance gave the bun a quick jab in the stomach for struggling before stepping back to view his prize. "Well did I not tell you? He has an ass that is just as nice as any female's. I can almost see why Miles turned fag, though I'd miss pussy way too much to ever do the same. Unfortunately we don't have pussy here Klaus. I'm sure you don't mind letting us all have a taste right? After all you can't let Miles have all the fun. You're up big guy!" He slapped the gator on the back with a forepaw and clopped over to watch the action.
Bryce had Klaus flipped over before positioning his cock at the bunny's entrance. He grunted slightly as he groped Klaus's ass firmly before ramming his cock in without hesitation. Klaus felt the wind escape him as the thick member was rammed into him with no amount of care. He screamed and cried out in pain as he felt his insides burn from the churning cock. The big rottys held his limbs tight, yet he still struggled to break free. Bryce grabbed the fluff of his tail roughly and held on as if it were a handle while he pounded away. It seemed like an eternity before he felt the reptile stiffen and release his load into the rabbit's insides. "Ah fuck that was nice. All lubed up now little bunny. The real fun begins here, I'm not through with you yet. I'm just making sure I don't hog you while you can still struggle." He stepped away and Klaus heard Chance asking which fur was next.
"I'll take the bitch. That slutty face has me all hot n' bothered. Turn him over though, I want to watch him while I work." Klaus was flipped over to see a Bull Moose standing before him. A massive cock sat stiff between his legs. His antlers made him all the more intimidating as he approached the small bunny. Klaus felt the cock press against his entrance and stop. "You ready?" Klaus didn't answer. The moose backpawed him across the face, much to the amusement of the others. "You fuckin' answer me rodent. Are you ready?" Klaus remained silent and received another paw across his face. "No worries. You'll be screaming soon little one." He grinned and plunged his cock into the bunny's hole.
Klaus felt his tears running dry. He begged and pleaded as the moose tore him in two, yet that only drove him on. Klaus felt a paw on his ear and gasped as his head was jerked back and presented with the thick shaft of a feline. "Let's put that jaw to work yeah? And don't bite now. I would hate to have to break your jaw and use it anyway." The lion shoved himself into the bunny's mouth before Klaus could protest. It had a sweaty taste as it rammed down into his throat. "Fuck his mouth is fantastic too. Chance you brought us a fine one here."
"Happy to help my good fur. Always fun to share the wealth." Chance smiled and looked on. Klaus was barely aware of anything anymore. His body was growing numb and he wondered if this was what shock was like. He stared as he was taken again and again by different furs. A Great Dane, the twin Rottweilers, a small bull, the gator and moose again. On and on they went before finally a voice stopped them. Chance was ready for his turn. Klaus picked his head up some as the equine approached. "I've been waiting a long time for this bunny. Payback for the damage you and your boyfriend did to me."
Klaus saw Miles in his head. His loving mate held him before being torn away from his arms. The wolf's ears were laid back and his eyes held a look of pained disappointment. "Miles..." Klaus whispered through the haze of pain and sadness. It was all washed away as a fist connected with his muzzle. Over and over again it hit him as Chance raged at him for speaking the name of his mate. He felt his body give out, no longer able to struggle. He noticed something dart over him followed by a loud crash. A deep rumble of a voice spoke something inaudible. Klaus closed his eyes and allowed the darkness to swallow carry him away.
Miles saw Brent waiting impatiently at the entrance to the locker rooms the football team used for spring workouts. It was an old building and no longer used for anything but the locker rooms. It was a transition period as this had been replaced with a new athletics building and the current one was given over to whichever sports team wanted to use it. Brent stiffened at the sight of him, but Miles was quick to speak up. "Where is he Brent?"
"Ok. To the point. Let's go." He turned and walked into the building with a determined stride. Miles had only seen this side of Brent once or twice. This female was obviously having quite an effect on him. They hurried unspeaking, almost sprinting towards the locker rooms. Brent stopped and motioned Miles close. "When we go in you go straight for Chance. I will take care of the others." Miles nodded in assent and stood. His heart stopped when he heard the sound of whimpering. He knew that voice. All reason left him, Brent saw it in his eyes.
Miles smashed through the door and tackled Chance as he was about to violate his mate. He knew he should worry about the other furs surrounding him, but he could only focus on beating the horse in front of him. He slammed his fist repeatedly into the equine's face. He slammed his foe's head into the lockers with as much force as he could muster. Blood poured from the helpless stallion as he hung limp while the wolf continued to slam his head into the lockers. Somewhere in his mind he heard his name. Louder and louder he heard someone call his name. Then they spoke the one word that brought him out of his berserk rage.
"Damn it Miles stop before you kill him! Klaus needs to get to a hospital! If you kill Chance it won't do any good. Now take Klaus and go!" Brent was right. Killing Chance wouldn't do them any good. The wolf snarled and looked down, taking the equine's member by the base and digging his claws deep into the spongy flesh. Miles gave a hard tug as he buried his claws deeper. The sound of tearing flesh and screams filled the air as the horse's cock came free from his body. The wolf tossed it to the side and spat before turning to pad over to his mate, gingerly taking the bunny in his arms. He looked over to see the twins sprawled out on the ground unconscious. He looked at Brent and felt a tear wash down his furry cheek. His mate was bleeding in his arms. His face was swollen and his jaw looked to be broken. Brent threw a nearby coat over the bunny and hurried the wolf out. Miles heard yelling and crashing as the bull cleaned up the remainder of the mess inside the room. Miles held back a sob as he held his mate's limp body in his arms. He quickly ran to his truck and laid Klaus gently in the back seat. He cranked up and sped off, his mate was the only thing on his mind.
It was obvious that the bovine still held onto his reputation as no one attempted to help Chance after Brent ordered them not to move. He was not about to have them gang up on Miles and the entire team knew that the bull was not one to mess with. It came as a surprise to the Berg twins as his fist connected with their jaws almost simultaneously. He had told them all not to move; he had said nothing about that saving them from him. Brent reveled in the thrill of dealing out justice to these monsters he once called friends. Not a one knew how to fight. His father made sure he had training at a young age. He went from one fur to the next leaving none unharmed as he bellowed at them for what they had done. Bullying he had tolerated, but rape was something that he would never let go unpunished. He smashed them through mirrors and lockers without remorse. His chest swelled with pride as he realized how good it felt to finally be himself. All of the pent up anger and hatred he had for his old teammates rushed out of him through his fists. Blood covered his old shirt as he charged through each fur he encountered.
He surveyed the scene as he stood tall, panting heavily from the exertion. It angered him that they had not arrived in time. He must have received the tip off just before they started. He snorted as he rounded on the twin Rottweilers that lay unmoving beside the door. They were holding Klaus down when he and Miles had arrived. The bull bent down and grabbed Gerhard's arm. He tucked it under his shoulder and locked it in, giving a quick pull. The snap was unnervingly loud and oddly easy. He did the same to Gerard before standing up to assess his work. He had broken both of their right arms. "Gerard and Gerhard. Who the fuck named you two? High and mighty punks. Let's see how well you two fare without the use of your dominant arms." The bull walked out, pulling his phone out and dialing the number he had longed to dial. "Hey babe. I need to see you. Something happened and I need someone to talk to... I'll be at your place in a few, I just have a bit of cleaning up to do first."
Raine was just finishing up her workout when Tony rushed up to her. His face was pale under his wiry fur. "Geez man you look like you just killed your best friend! What's up castor?"
"Its Klaus... he's in trouble..." Tony flinched as Raine stood without warning. Her eyes darkened as she ordered an explanation. He told her of Chance's plan and she rushed off without him, but now without delivering a swift blow to his face. The tigress knew Chance was low, but this was evil. This was what she had refused to believe furs were capable of. Her paw twitched as she reached her car. She sped off towards the old athletic hall.
She came to a screeching halt and reached into her glove compartment before heading out. The feline's gaze met Brent's as she walked on. He nodded and silently held the door open for her. "I thought you might be coming." He said grimly.
Raine pressed a claw to his throat and growled, "What the fuck did you do to him Brent? Where is Klaus?"
"Gone. Miles is rushing him to the hospital. Chance and a bunch of the others ganged up on him. Did something that no one should ever think of doing. The others are gone, I made sure of that, but Chance is still in there. Do what you must." He turned and left, an almost sad expression in his brown eyes.
Raine walked quickly towards the direction of the locker rooms. One the way she reached up and tore her clothes to shreds, making sure it looked as intentional as possible. Her forepaw closed tightly around the object as she went over what her dad had taught her about how to defend herself if anyone ever threatened her. She knew what needed to be done and she was determined to see that this insanity did not go unpunished. She stepped through the doorway and readied herself.
Chance lay in a heap on the floor. He moaned softly through the blood that flowed through the cuts on his face. She would say she panicked after he died and beat the shit out of him in terror. No one would question her. She was the sheriff's daughter after all. Her dad had instilled in her a sense of right and wrong and she had never let him down. Even if he found out he would still let it lie. Raine would never do something unless it needed to be done. Chance needed to be dealt with. He was unstable and she was not about to let him spend a couple of years in prison just to walk free. She surveyed his damaged body and formulated a plausible lie. It was all perfect. She unholstered her pistol and unloaded it into the equines chest. Her father always said that if you had to shoot, unload. She lay down beside the corpse and dialed her father's number, making sure to put the proper amount of emotion into the call. She hated lying to her father, but he would understand this time. She would tell him one day. "Dad? I need help... I... I killed someone... Chance... he tried to rape me so I shot him...Ok... Hurry..." It was done. Raine sighed and smiled at the dead equine, satisfied that her friend was avenged.
Miles stood red-eyed outside of Klaus's room. His mind full of worry over his still unconscious mate. It had been a full day since Klaus had been harmed. Chance had been found dead, shot by the tigress that he had attempted to rape after he had beaten Klaus. Raine had fabricated a story where she had arrived and stopped Chance from beating Klaus almost to the brink of death. According to her, Miles had carried Klaus to the hospital and Raine had stayed behind while she tried to call the police, not thinking that Chance would actually try to harm her. Chance had tackled her and ripped her clothes off with the intent of raping her. She had fought back, but he was too determined for her to be able to stop him, so she was forced to shoot him. She was called brave, which Miles agreed with. He knew Chance deserved to die, the wolf was just disappointed he was not able to do the job himself.
Miles noticed someone standing beside him and looked up to see Brent glancing around the hallway. "How is he? They wrecked him pretty bad..."
Miles nodded, "Required blood and surgery for his jaw. They said he may have some scars but nothing that would really be noticeable. Doctor said he was lucky they were more prone to blunt force."
"Miles... I'm sorry. For everything. I was a huge ass and neither of you deserved what I put you two through. But I do want to say I had nothing to do with any of this. I never even thought Chance was capable of doing something like this. The Berg twins did their stupid little initiation bet and they chose Klaus to spite you. Chance became obsessed with him since he rebuffed his advances. The horse was off his rocker and I tried to get him to let it go, but he just wouldn't. I never wanted this to happen..." Brent blinked as his eyes became glassy. He pretended to preoccupy himself by checking one of his horns in the hall mirror.
"I forgive you Brent. I know you better than that. We were close once, enough so that I got to know a side of you that not many did. You are a good fur at heart."
Brent nodded and handed Miles a piece of paper with a news article printed on the front. The wolf was shocked at what he read. Brent spoke softly as he continued to read. "Turns out Chance transferred because he was accused of raping a couple of girls at his old school after they rejected him. They both ended up dropping the charges, though one ended up with some serious injuries after the fact."
Miles shook his head and disbelief. He had known Chance was a womanizer, but this? He started to speak, but was interrupted as the door to Klaus's room opened. The nurse looked up at him with a smile. "Miles? He's asking for you."
Miles felt tears of relief begin to flow as he hurried past the nurse. Klaus lay wrapped in bandages in his bed. The wolf knew he was smiling, the glimmer in his eyes was proof of that. He rushed to the bedside in an attempt to profess how thankful he was that Klaus was awake and would be okay. Yet, he was only able to speak his mate's name before he broke down into uncontrollable sobbing. His mate was finally awake. Klaus would recover and Miles would make sure he was never harmed again. The nurse shut the door to let the two have their privacy while she went to the waiting room to inform Klaus's family that he had woken. Brent looked on through the window and smiled at the two. Miles had truly found something special in his mate. Brent hoped he had found the same. He always thought he was a true alpha male, yet all this time Miles was the true alpha. Miles was strong, yet caring. He knew this was a new avenue for him and he hoped Miles would help show him the way.
Klaus was overwhelmingly happy to have his family around him. His mother, father, and sister all here together as a family once more. It was the first time his father had smiled at him since the day he had struck Klaus. It was good to finally see him accept that his son's happiness was more important than his beliefs. His eyes wandered to his mate, who sat with tears still in his blue eyes. His ears were twitching in excitement and his eyes never left Klaus's. The wolf looked as if he had not slept in some time. Klaus wanted more than anything to feel Miles' arms around him. The wolf's onyx colored fur was unkempt and unruly, yet still he was striking. The bunny wanted to speak. He wanted to tell Miles that he was okay; that he loved him and not even death would dare try to take him away from his mate. Klaus closed his eyes and felt sleep overtake him immediately. He dreamt of his mate, his family, and his friends. The recovery would be difficult, but with Miles he could get through anything.
