Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction for the Mutants and Masterminds Role Playing Game copyright to Green Ronin Publishing. I do not have permission but produce this as someone who enjoy theirs products and wishes to entertain my fellow furries by using the setting of Freedom City created by Steve Kenson and also published by Green Ronin. Bedlam City is copyright to James Thomson and uses the same rules as Freedom City. The Menagerie is my creation, but if GR wants it for FC they are welcome to it, inspired by the Freedom City setting. The following is my interpretation of said setting based on the books as presented by Green Ronin and Plain Brown Wrapper Games.
In a private hospital in Freedom City, New Jersey, an entire ward of victims are recovery from the DNAscendant process of the Labyrinth. Many of the patients look more or less human with a few or any alterations. A few of them are truly non-human from humanized animals to things that Lovecraft may dreamed up but never used in his tales as even he deemed them too weird.
Two of the furry patients are especially worth looking at closer. Both are generic canines, could be dogs or wolves equally easily, in both genders. But as some of their abilities randomly activate they look weird.
The male's chart names him as Michael Mahoney USMCGS and his fur is patently midnight black with electric blue hair in a military cut blue gloves and socks like a fox and blue stripes like a tiger. When he awakens his eyes are a solid blue as blue-white electricity crackles up and down his body. He test to see if he is restrained and he is not but feigns sleep anyway.
Across the hall a female of roughly the same species as Michael has tags that identify her as: Random Female Raver acquired at Millennium 2-14-2009. Before she awakens her body is covered with neon green fur, purple hair, gloves and socks; orange stripes and nipples. When she opens her eyes they are a solid orange that wink to Michael.
A tall handsome African American in surgeon's scrub struts in massaging his crotch as he leads a pair of burly security guards over to the women's side of the ward. One of the guards clubs Michael "Just because he's a freak" before he starts to molest a random female patient. The other guard just molests another patient as the doctor goes for the raver.
"It's like a candy store in here," the doctor says with dark glee. "I can take any female I want and do as I please."
"Best job in the world, Doc Abattoir," one of the guards says in agreement.
"Please!" the raver girl yells as Doc Abattoir forces her legs apart. "Haven't done enough?"
"Never, bitch, never," Doc Abattoir says as he shoves his dick in her pussy.
All three rape their charges as Michael subtly watches. While the humans are suitably distracted, Michael sees a metal tray with scalpels, needles and other medical implements on it. With some concentration and effort he uses his powers of magnetism to levitate the implements and send them hurtling into the doctor; making the syringes of morphine and sedatives dump their contents into him.
Besides Michael's attack the alarm goes off that usually indicates that the hospital is under siege by super heroes. Michael hurls a bolt of blue-white lightning into Doc Abattoir as the orderlies come after him. Raver screams "NO!" and discharges a purple beam of light that hits the one guard hard as Michael electrocutes the other.
Doc Abattoir pulls a scalpel out of his back and imbues it with psychic rage before growling: "Bitch! I'm gonna slice you good for that!"
"NO!" Raver screams and sends the doctor hurtling from her with a sonic blast.
Doc Abattoir twitches on the floor as Michael slams the the remaining guard with a thunderous punch that knocks him out. He helps Raver out of her guerney as a wall blows out behind them. Standing in the gaping hole is a humanized white buffalo who beckons them to follow.
Many floors above them, Captain Thunder and the rest of the Freedom League assault the hospital as Targette, Sidetrack and Tamper attempt to repel them along with the other guards the Labyrinth employs. One of the guards from below manages to alert Taurus that an escape has occurred but his forces are too busy to handle the situation so he and Scarlet go down to take care of the situation. But when they arrive, Michael and Raver are gone as are many other patients, but they do manage to cow the rest through their abilities so it's not a total loss for them.
"All the animals are gone," Scarlet observes. "The Menagerie did a snatch and run while the Freedom League attacked us."
"The Contenders are being cared for here as is Daddy-O Long Legs," Taurus states. "We're also trying to study Talona. It was simply too tempting a target. But I'll contact our media sources and have them put the proper spin on it. Heroes are only heroes here in America if they're registered thanks to the Patriot Act."
"That legislation was worth every penny to put our puppet in place," Scarlet says. "Our agent, Cheney did his job well."
"Quite, but I'd rather not let Sergeant Mahoney go," Taurus. "A good attack dog is a good attack dog, and resource I would rather not loose. But our resources are stretched rather thin present." Taurus taps his chin. "this will require some thought and planning. We stole him from Iraq and invested great interest in his abilities."
"Magnetism and electricity?" Scarlet asks as she assesses the situation. "That is a potential double whammy. If he can be brought to heel he would be quite a tool."
"Indeed but I worry if and who we might need to us an ally with..." Taurus says as he gets a phone call. "Overshadow? This has potential."
"But can we trust him?" Scarlet questions.
"Probably not but they are amusing to deal with," Taurus says dryly with a wry smile before answering. "Overshadow, what do I owe the pleasure?"
"I understand you had a recent break out," Overshadow says calmly that slightly alarms Taurus. "Do you need help recovering anyone?"
"Perhaps," Taurus admits lightly. "Most of the escapees were those who developed a humanized physicality."
"Including a pair of dogs I hear," Overshadow says. "I'd like to see how you did that if it was on purpose. I could use a squad or two like them."
"Alright," Taurus says with a smirk. "If you can capture him Sergeant Mahoney is on loan to SHADOW for study. I do eventually want him back though."
"Done!" Overshadow says and then hangs up.
"You're taking an awful risk," Scarlet warns to which Taurus just shrugs.
"Call it a game," Taurus says. "I've been meaning to deal with the Menagerie anyway. This is as good an excuse as any."
In an area of the Freedom City sewers near the ocean and the boardwalk with the beach beyond Michael Mahoney and Raver, she now calls herself this as that's how she got into this way and because she still admires the super heroine Raven, meet with the Council of elders of the Menagerie. Both canines are flying over a pit leading down to the Atlantic. They are also are both dressed like super heroes.
Gunnery Sergeant Michael Mahoney is in a black jumpsuit of leather and mesh with his USMC rank insignia on his arms and a skull superimposed over a lightning bolt over his chest. Raver is dressed in a neon pink skirt and sleeveless shirt that look they came from the 50s or 60s space exploration TV show complete with white belt and go-go boots but she also has a pair of glow sticks tied to her wrists as a bizarre mish-mash of styles. Sitting in a semi circle before them are the Council members in white robes in a decidedly Roman style.
The Council consists of seven members: An African elephant, an alligator, a buffalo, a polar bear, a rabbit and a turtle. All are colored white but not albinos. The bear, bunny and turtle are all female with the other and four are males. Included in the council is the white buffalo that led them was from the facility and it is he who addresses them.
"You two are the last ones we need to interview but at this time I would like to welcome you to the Menagerie." The buffalo says. "I am Shaman. My own abilities are mystical in origin but what shall we call you?"
"Just call me," Raver says with a smirk, "Raver I was collected for this at a rave I was attending at Millennium. I have some ability with colors, light and sound. I guess I'll never leave the rave."
"The outside world considers me dead," Michael growls. "I served in Iraq as a Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant when I was almost killed by an IED. They brought me here and made me what I am now, an electricity and magnetism controlling wolf man. Call me Volt."
"I am Zulu, any regrets, Volt?" The elephant asks.
"I was estranged from my family," Volt admits. "But we were reconciling for thier sakes, let Michael Mahoney stay dead."
"I am Healer," The bear states. "Do you wish to see them? Do you have little ones, Volt?"
"No, I think my sister is expecting her first, but I have no wife or children. "Volt answers honestly.
Just then the savage man-shark Megalodon attacks from below. Realizing the danger he poses Volt shocks the psycho killer into turning back to his human form. Raver uses healing light to repair the damage Volt inflicted.
Once defeated and unconscious Volt leaves Dr. Kirkstrom on the beach as Shaman instructs him. Volt's actions are deemed appropriate and his compassion for the defeated foe earns him the approval of the Council. At midnight a rave is held on the beach with hundreds of humanized animals dancing as Raver and Volt cover various hits of the 80s and 90s.
Dr. Metropolis arrives about an hour after the party starts with the rest of the Freedom League following soon after. Zulu takes over as DJ as Volt and Raver meet with the Freedom League. Raven is more or less flattered that she has a fan in Raver while Captain Thunder and Volt engage in about to test the limits of Volt's power but after wards they shake hands in friendship.
Daedalus tests Raver's powers with Lady Liberty's and Sirine's help. They discover that both canines are quite powerful. In fact few villains are their equal and agree to counsel the pair whenever needed or wanted.
A bit later the pair of Volt and Raver set out Tiki Shark beach blankets under the boardwalk and prepare to get cozy. Volt starts out with a pair of flaming Big Dogs bathing trunks and nothing else. Similarly Raver starts of with a Polynesian bikini. In the heat of the night they massage each others groins and nuzzle each others necks.
Rather then spend a night in jail for vagrancy and public nudity and the petting is getting having enough that they will be getting nude soon enough they move themselves to what is known in the Menagerie Tunnel systems as Lust Beach. Under a concrete sky with the ocean view and on sewer pipes dumping waste out to sea the Menagerie wander naked to play with one another in pleasure. In many ways the Menagerie are modern primitives living a kind of collective life style.
Within the Menagerie Lust Beach has a specifically carnal purpose so here nudity is mandatory. Volt and Raver leave the little they were wearing as they walk down together with their hands in each others groins. Raver goes down on Volt as other females watch and get closer.
A cheetah and a skunk, both female, stand on opposite sides of Volt looking at him lustfully. Raver responds by rising and impaling herself along his length as he stands there. She also uses her color changing ability impishly on the two girls as Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" plays over the speakers giving mixed messages as the other two are amused.
Perfuma the skunk finds that her white stripes and hair turn neon pink while Streaker, the cheetah sees her golden fur turn neon blue while her blond hair turns pink. After looking at each other for a second they look to Raver who giggles through her moans as she wraps her body around Volt who lays out their Tiki Shark brand towels. Streaker and Perfuma help as they press themselves closer to Volt, close enough to rest their racks on his shoulders.
They continue to tease the male canine until he finally cums in Raver who had been doing the Ride 'Em Cowgirl position on Volt. Shortly after he climaxes an alert sounds. Suspecting it to be trouble, Raver and Volt fly out to investigate, picking up their beach ware along the way. After flying to the community center they get changed quickly and report to the ready room as Rush's "Force Ten" plays over the speakers.
When they get to the Militia chamber they Streaker and Perfuma already there. Streaker wears a bikini that leaves little to the imagination with a utility belt, goggles, gloves and boots added more as an afterthought. Perfuma is in a pink jumpsuit with yellow boots, belt, gloves and goggles.
In addition to Perfuma, Streaker, Raver and Volt is a male alligator, a female snake, a male ferret, a male African elephant and a male mole. Zulu and Shaman are on a dais to address the gathered. Neither elder looks pleased buy they seem pleased that Volt and Raver are here.
"I wish to thank all of you for coming as soon as possible," Zulu says grimly but honestly. "Defense Militia duty is strictly voluntary so I am glad both Volt and Raver are joining us."
"I have these powers so I might as well use them," Volt says. "What are we up against?"
"We'll get to that in due time, Volt," Shaman says with a smile. "Everyone introduce yourselves to our new friends Volt has Electricity and Magnetism abilities, Raver has light and sound powers if I am correct."
"Yes, Sir," Raver says simply and respectfully.
"You met us at Lust Beach," the cheetah says. "I'm Streaker; I'm a speedster primarily."
"I'm Perfuma," the skunk says. "I produce various gas effects naturally. I'm usually support for the others."
"I call myself Pressure," the snake says. "I can turn off other people's powers with precise strikes."
"Hi!" The mole says with a smirk. "I'm Underminer, I'm a burrower and trapper. I also support the team by weakening our enemies."
"I'm Ambushwhacker," the gator says with a smirk. "I'm a kind of amphibious assaulter. I like to catch my prey unawares."
"I'm Gumball," the ferret says as he stretches himself out and in shape. "I'm flexible in what I do."
"I'm Zulu Two," the elephant says. "Zulu is my dad and like him I'm the team's brick. Nice to get a pair of blasters on the team as well as some air support finally."
"I hope that is sufficient as we have trouble coming as we speak," Shaman says with a frown. RIOT is headed this way as is Daddy-O Long-Legs, Silverback, Subject Nine and Verman. Plus both Taurus and Scarlet with Labyrinth rank and file thugs. We think they have the Contenders with them as well."
"In other words," Ambushwhacker says, "we have a fight on our hands. Looks like Taurus finally decided to take care of us."
"Can we get a crash course in what these people are?" Raver asks.
"Taurus is actually the Minotaur of Greek Myth, Scarlet is his right hand human weapon who can kick some serious butt," Zulu states. "Daddy-O Long-Legs is a spider with some human features as he was once human, Silverback is a gorilla, Verman is a humanized rat, Subject Nine is a crazy mentalist."
"RIOT consist of Armorine, a woman whose body is organic steel, Little Hawk, a doll sized flier with razor wings, Insurgent seems like a Muslim woman with emotion charging powers," Shaman states. "S.D.Ivan is a crazy Russian cold user, Slam Dance can clone himself after being hit, Flagburner is a fire starter. The Contenders are Bear-Knuckle, Fly Boy, Heavyweight and TKO. They're embowered boxers."
"I just hop we'll be enough." Volt says.
"You'll do fine," Zulu says. "Now everyone into the teleportation circle. The first wave is about to hit."
Every member of the Menagerie Militia bunches together as Shaman chants. They apport to the tunnels under the Sentry Statue honoring Centurion's sacrifice during the Terminus Invasion. Daddy-O Long-Legs and the Contenders have just arrive as have Verman, Silverback and Subject 9.
The tunnel is flooded enough that those that can't fly or stick to the wallas are at a complete disadvantage although it does favor Ambushwhacker. The gator man dives in and pulls the mutton chopped Bear-Knuckle into the drink. Underwater the two fight tooth and claw but Ambushwhacker can actually breath water so is immune to drowning.
Streaker runs fast enough to wate rwalk as long as she keeps moving so she isn't affected as much either as Perfuma starts producing pheromones to aid her allies. Volt and Raver tag team Fly-Boy and send the human fly villain into the drink with a one-two punch of energy blasts. Zulu Two charges the sluggish Heavyweight and even the huge human mutant is able to use some of his gravity inducing ability to slow him down the two big combatants and go mano e mano.
Pressure swims up behind Subject 9 and goes through a Kung Fu kata on the bondage hooded psychic in a straight jacket which sends him down for the count in short order. Underminer is a burrower but he submerges and lays out some mines that his team mates know how to avoid. Silverback easily knocks out Underminet but pays for it when the mines explode as he pounds on the mole taking him out as they both float idly in their state of unconsciousness.
Daddy-O Long-Legs and Verman both try to hit Raver but neither can penetrate her force field. Verman is knocked off by one of Raver's power shouts and pounded into senselessness by Volt's thunder punch. TKO tries to punch out Volt telekinetically but fails to penetrate his force field.
Raver has Daddy-O Long-Legs clinging to her and it's freaking her out. She intensifies the aura of light around her to blinding levels. Everyone but Volt and Ambushwhacker is blinded by the flash. Volt blasts Daddy-O Long-Legs off of Raver and he just floats in the water unconscious.
Ironically TKO regains his sight when Volt knocks out Daddy-O Long-Legs before targets him again only to be knocked out by a flying thunder punch. Ambushwhacker pushes his friend Underminer to the side as the second wave comes dropping in. S.D. Ivan starts off by freezing the water and trapping the gator underneath.
In addition to RIOT Labyrinth's own team of super agents arrives. The Lebanese cyborg turns off Perfuma's gas powers but is surprised when Volt targets him with his magnetism abilities. Flung around the chamber like a rag doll he knocks into Little Hawk and both go down.
Sidetrack and Targette try to distract and take Zulu Two down when Rubber Dude wraps up Targette and begins to suffocate her. When Sidetrack teleports to help her lover she gets hit with blasts from both Volt and Raver and is overcome. Tamper yells "Demons!" and starts to attack Rubber Dud only to knock out Targette through Rubber Dude's body.
Volt knocks Tamper out with a thunder punch with help from Rubber Dude. Armorine takes down Perfuma as Tamper gets take care of. But she doesn't expect Volt toss her into Insurgent and knocks her out.
Flagburner and S.D. Ivan combine to take out Rubber Dude as Slam Dance attacks Zulu Two. Streaker is mad at Armorine but thinks S.D. Ivan a bigger threat as Flagburner tries to dazzle everyone which amuses Raver. Raver uses her powers to dazzle Flagburner slams Armorine into him.
S.D. Ivan targets Volt with his cold powers and only succeeds in distracting him long enough to release Armorine so she can help Slam Dance take down Zulu Two. Streaker beats up S.D. Ivan but the damage is done as Zulu Two goes down. Armorine and Slam Dance target but Raver imbues her glow stix and channels concussive force to turn them into purple energy meteor hammers that she uses to take out Slam Dance in an aerial interpretive dance.
Volt sends Armoring careening into Flagburner taking both down but before Flagburner knocks out Streaker. After they take care of the super villains team is brought back temporarily. Everyone but Volt and Raver are out as Taurus and Scarlet challenge the Menagerie defenses and breeze through the defenders rather easily.
Raver and Volt rush to the defense of the Menagerie Shaman opens a portal to where to need to be and they see the man bull and the red attired whip mistress slaughtering all they meet. Taurus is attired like a Roman gladiator and is armed with a battle axe.
"Well, it looks like they come to us, Thea," Taurus says with some mirth. "I'll have Sergeant Mahoney..."
"Michael Mahoney is dead, Minotaur!" Volt yells. "You killed him. Now I'm Volt."
"And he brought Raver with him," Scarlet sneers. "How cute, ready to feel pain, little girl?"
"At least you got MY name right, Little Miss Red Riding Hood," Raver says in a mocking tone. "I could ask you the same question."
Miss Scarlet simply whips Raver which does little effect although Raver's blast knocks Miss Scarlet down. Raver lands and activates her energy comet hammers and advances on Miz Scarlet. After getting hit and knocked down a second time Miz Scarlet realizes she might be out of her league fighting Raver.
Raver sense the human is ready to book and uses her sonic powers to nauseate Scarlet. Stopped in her tracks, Miz Scarlet can only wait until Raver finishes her off. For the first time in a while Miss Scarlet is knocked ou in a straight up fight which distracts Taurus which is a bad thing for him as Volt is pulling out all the stops to beat the Man-Bull.
Volt is not exactly thinking straight when it comes to Taurus. The man-bull is responsible for the fact he may never be a part of his family again and the emotional pain is driving his ire and prompting him to punish his opponent. A flying thunder punch knocks the Minotaur on his rear.
Of course it doesn't help that the sound system is playing Ayria's cover of the Pat Benetar song "Invincible" as the fight progresses. Volt confiscates Taurus's axe and uses it to chop off the man-bull's horns. Taurus is infuriated at this but he is out of rage right now and can't go berserk again just yet.
After discarding the Minotaur's axe Volt blasts his opponent with electricity that does nothing. A series of thunder punches leaves Taurus dazed and when he sees his aide du camp go down it gives Volt an oppurtunity to sucker punch him. The oppurtunity is one Volt takes and lays Taurus out with one doozy of a thunder punch.
Ms. Scarlet is dragged back to the surface while Taurus is hauled before the Council of Elders. Exactly what transpired at the closed door meeting Volt is not privy to and the members of the Council will not divulge. Taurus leaves for the surface glaring at Volt but not speaking a word as he finds Ms. Scarlet waiting for him.
"Well?" Scarlet asks. "What happened?"
"The process worked too well this time," Taurus states. "My attack dog is now their guard dog. The Menagerie is now officially out of reach."
"You can't be serious?" Scarlet inquires in a chiding manner that draws a look from her boss. "But can we still send proxies?"
"But of course, dear Thea," Taurus says with a smirk. "Looks like Overshadow may get his samples after all."
Volt and Raver stand on a raised dais before the Council of Elders, the Militia, the Freedom League and hundreds of those they would call peers in the Menagerie. Doctor Metropolis and Zulu approach the dais as one. A pall of silence falls over the gathered.
"Brothers and sisters of the Menagerie!" Zulu shouts joyfully."We are gathered here with our friends from the Freedom League to present and honor our newest and perhaps greatest new citizens of our collective."
"It is thanks to Volt and Raver that the Menagerie has won its greatest victory so far!" Doctor Metropolis announces. "Within the confines of that which is recognized as your own neighborhood you are now safe from the Labyrinth."
"Beating Taurus in battle is no small feat," Captain Thunders says. "But you did it all on you own, Volt. For this alone I salute you." Volt and Captain Thunder salute each other in true military fashion as the Menagerie cheer. "We offer at least part time membership anytime you so choose."
"I appreciate the offer, Captain," Volt says as he looks to Raver and gets a nod from her. "But that is something we would need to arrange with the Council."
"We, the Council of Elders of the Menagerie bestow on both you and Raver," Zulu says proudly. "The title of Champion, the Militia is under your command and you are free to represent us in the Freedom League if you so choose."
"We accept this honor, Elder," Raver says demurely. "Volt and I will endeavor to honor the Menagerie, our home in Freedom City, Freedom City itself and the Freedom League and thus freedom everywhere. Where we are needed we shall go."
Deafening cheer are heard as Volt and Raver retire to their own quarters. Once there they strip each other and make their way to a king sized bed on the floor. They play Kava Kon's "Tiki for the Atomic Age" CD, Pat Benetar's "We Belong" and Utada Hikaru's "Sanctuary" as they make love before falling asleep. Volt begins their sensual time together by suckling at Raver's tits while her hand paws massage his scrotum and phallus.
When he is hard enough Volt pushes his member past her folds slowly but surely. Raver moans and smiles as she is taken, this time by one she wants inside of her. Unbeknown st to them, their quality time together is being monitored by Perfuma and Streaker who finger each other in the female citizens dormitory as they watch on hidden cameras in a secluded video nook.
Raver kind of feels strange making love unbound. As many times as she was restrained and raped by doctors and orderlies the absence of such materials actually begins to detract from her enjoyment. Volt notices this and questions her reactions.
"Is something wrong?" Volt asks as he gently fucks Raver. "I'm not hurting you am I?"
"No," Raver answers honestly. "I just feel like something's missing. Do you think we could put in some restraints?"
"You miss being strapped down before getting taken?" Volt asks with same concern into which Raver nods. "I'll see what can be arranged. Maybe we can play as both villain and vicim."
"You mean, I dominate you?" Raver asks to which Volt nods. "I hadn't thought of that."
Raver reverses their positions, riding Volt's pole as if she were the dominant one in the relationship. Volt reaches up to fondle Raver's breasts and she almost corrects him. But the fact that he is gentle with her tempers this as she smiles and lets him fondle her rack.
When Volt releases his sperm into Raver they are both on the verge of exhaustion. They cuddle as they fall asleep together, holding each other tight. However, Raver arises before Volt in the morning she sees he has wood.
Feeling impish, Raver mounts her fellow champion and begins to ride him as she did before. Eventually this wakes up Volt who reverses their positions and begins pounding her pussy with his pulsating pussy. After climax they have some cold cereal with milk although they almost spill it in a fit of mutual laughter. Once breakfast is finished the pair take a tour of Freedom Hall and the Lighthouse conducted by Bowman in Freedom Hall and Star Knight in the Lighthouse. Ultimate living arrangements have yet to be worked ou so after their tour they head over the Jersey Turnpike to nearby Bedlam City to pick up a few items they want in a sex shop or three.
The vehicle they use is a Labyrinth van they stole in their initial escape so the cops in Bedlam more or less leave them alone. The only hiccup come when the cops run the plates and discover it stolen. The situation turns ugly when they actually see what is in there.
It's not the bondage gear that they find disturbing as much as the fact that Volt is driving. To say it causes a panic would be putting it mildly. It also goes to say the S.W.A.T. team is called in and Captain Thunder and the rest of the Freedom League is beseeched for aid; the surprise on the faces of the cops when informed that the pair are in fact heroes is rather classic as the couple drive home to Freedom City, laughing all the way.
More snickering comes when Captain Thunder meets them in Freedom Hall where the van is repainted and given new tags. Captain Thunder, Lady Liberty and Daedalus are all shocked when they discover the van's contents. Raven sniggers and shakes her head but beyond a comment of "Kinky!" and Daedalus remarking that part of them has yet to escape the Labyrinth nothing more is said on the matter even if nobody really wants to lecture the pair on the immorality of what they plan to do to each other ultimately in the privacy of their own bedroom.
When they return to the territory of the Menagerie the reaction is much different.
