#2 of Transcender: Gray

This one was split over two nights rather than one... I'm actually having quite a lot of fun writing this little series. As always, it's not proof read, and even though I enjoyed doing it, typically I'm not 100% happy with it. It's 4am now, so time for some sleep. I hope you enjoy it. *Yawns*

Gray and Valkyrie テ「竄ャ" Chapter Two テ「竄ャ" Dark Type

Valkyrie: I will rise up from the ashes.

The group pulled together as the once distant mountains reached a conceivable immensity, the goliaths casting a great shadow over the dried, cracked wastes of the faux-desert. Gray adjusted his scarf, feeling his remaining exposed skin burning in the heat of the sun, cursing softly as he imagined the pain he would most likely be in later. A smile tugged at his lips however: As a fire type, his resistance was high; the same couldn't be said for the remainder of the group however. Only Master Erin and, to no surprise, Karin, were dressed efficiently, long white wraps blowing slightly in the wind as only eyes peeked out. The team was almost entirely new recruits after all; himself, Yuri and Karin being the only seasoned members. He sighed softly in relief as Valkyrie began to ascend in a thermals wake, the draft washing over him. Until bearing wings of his own, the man had never really appreciated the finer points of flight, yet now he found new respect in the skills of his companion. Runt she may be, her skill in the air was something to be envied, especially by one was inexperienced as him, "So, what happened, Val?"

Her wing twitched slightly as she levelled up to the back of the party, "What do you mean?" She turned to look over her shoulder, Gray gesturing furiously for her to return her attentions to what was ahead. The wyvern simply chuckled.

"You've been smiling constantly since we met up for patrol this morning..." He crossed his legs, retrieving his canteen from a belt of tanned leather, "I mean..." He took his time gulping down a draft. "You've been relatively giddy. Are you ok?"

He could sense a spike in his partner's nerves, "I'm fine, Gray..." She turned to face onwards once more, hiding her face, "I just had a decent night sleep, that's all. I feel better now."

"Seeing more of the good in the world at last?" He chuckled, "See, Val. There's hope. Even for us." He returned the vessel to its binding, wiping a little water from his chin. "Are you sure you're alright though? You're flying a little wonky." He lied.

"I..." Her head drooped slightly, "Fell asleep in an awkward position." Well, she was better at excuses than him at the very least.

"Yeah, I bet you did." He glanced to the side as a jet black wyvern pulled back to match her course to theirs, "Calling to Rose for help? That's low, Val."

Karin pulled down her scarf, "Gray, I wanted to ask you some things..." Rose synchronised her wingbeats to the azure, seemingly having a conversation of her own with Valkyrie. "About that technique you used back in class."

Gray stiffened, glancing down at his wyvern before returning his attentions to the girl. He silently thanked all of his lucky stars that wyverns can only communicate with their Guardians, "Ok, what do you want to know?"

"Change, Ge, though it converts one thing into another, it can't increase or decrease the mass of whatever the Gua is used on... It's why that Lycan back in class was so small." She reached down Rose's side, rummaging in a pack slung over the wyverns flank, "So..." she emerged with a book, "I've searched every text on the technique. I slept in the library, and there's nothing ever listed even similar to what you pulled."

"So I did something unique then." He shrugged, "Go me?"

She stared at him blankly, "No. You don't understand how important this is!" Her voice began to build enthusiasm, "We have to run tests, scans, and research. It's imperative that I find out exactly how you're capable of breaking physics." She smiled broadly, "A thesis on this anomaly could make my career!"

"Uh..." He raised an eyebrow, "Okay?" She looked to him expectantly, eyes boring into the man until he sagged at last, "All right, all right... Just nothing painful, ok?"

She grinned, about to retort before glancing down to Rose, "Have you been teasing Valkyrie?"

"Hey, it's just how we show affection." She looked up questioningly before hiding her face with the scarf, "Remember the Christmas party last year?"

"Yes..." She dropped the book into its original place, "You didn't come, did you?"

"I was in the burns ward." He said simply, "Val set me on fire for a joke." Gray sighed, "She slaps me with her tail when I'm not expecting it, drops me from ridiculous heights, almost drowned me last month... This is all that I can do to get back at her."

There was a long period of silence before Karin and Rose returned to the head of the formation.

*****

Master Erin walked to the cliffs edge, staring out over the deep crevasse between the mountains before turning to face the group. They had chosen a wide ledge to rest, the outcropping of rock jutting within sight of a fork in the route. The Rowen Mountains were so high, that simply flying over them was impossible, leaving no choice but to take the natural pathway. Gray pulled himself to his feet, donating the remainder of his canteen to Valkyrie before taking his place in the line of Guardians. Erin spoke, "Our job is to clear out the Remnants along this trade route... Karin will take the group to the north-eastern pathway where the main infestation should be based." She bowed her head before walking up to his side, "Meanwhile, Yuri and Gray shall take the northern seam to eliminate their secondary grounds. The two of you should be enough..." People began to turn to look at the silver haired man, yet none questioned Erin. His transformation stunt appeared to have earned Gray more points than he'd realised, "The paths converge up ahead after a few hours flight. You can regroup there."

Karin allowed her gaze to pass over the half dozen or so partners of her attachテδゥ before settling it upon her teacher, "What about you, Master Erin?" She questioned.

"I will remain here to prevent a back attack..." He smiled in reassurance, "If anything goes wrong, send back a messenger and I'll come to back you up." He toyed with his scarf as he spoke. "Don't worry, you're more than capable of fulfilling your purpose, Karin."

-

Gray sighed, lying down across Valkyrie's back and closing his eyes. The breeze was a pleasant one in the shadows of the cliffs, stirring his hair and washing over his face. The man could feel himself drifting off to the subtle metronome of his partners wing beats, after all of this time simply flying forwards without event, his mind wandered. Pulling himself from his stupor, he glanced to the side, watching Yuri atop a pure white wyvern, her San. The blond was hunched over, a sketch pad balanced between her partners shoulders as a pencil scratched back and forth the surface. She flipped the pad closed as Valkyrie moved ahead to flank, "Nosy. Huh, Gray?" She turned to face him as he came level.

"Cut me some slack, we've been flying for hours..." He slumped, "It can't be much further, can it?"

Valkyrie snorted beneath him, "You little things don't have much stamina, do you?"

"Quiet, you..." He rolled his eyes, "Hey, Yuri... You're always carrying that pad around, but come to think of it, you've never let me see any of your work." He adjusted his hair, untangling the mass from his scarf, "Since there's nothing else-"

"No." She said simply. "It's private."

Gray scratched at his arm, the skin still only mildly damaged by the sun. Even though she was garbed similarly, she too lacked any burns for some reason. "Come on..." He grinned, "Nobody else is going to see テ「竄ャ" Val wants a look too."

"No, I don't."

Yuri glanced down to San, "No, she doesn't." The girl sighed, staring out ahead for a few moments before seemingly coming to a conclusion, "On second thoughts, you're a fire type, right?" She smiled wickedly, "Let's make a deal: I'll let you see, but only if you promise to help me with my work."

He didn't hesitate. "Deal."

"All right..." Yuri leaned over to her pack, rummaging slightly before her body suddenly stiffened. "I smell blood." She muttered.

"Huh? What's the hold up?" Gray leaned over, "Are you chickening out?"

She was silent for a few moments, "San... San can smell blood."

Valkyrie shifted her flight immediately, taking the lead as Gray pulled himself back into a sitting posture, "How far?"

"Damn, I was distracted..." Yuri pointed ahead, "We're almost on top of it." A point was visible in the distance, where paths met, drawing nearer as the wyverns increased their speed. The ridges ascended from each route, marking out the crossroads as a central point, their altitude remaining unchanged as they drew up to land. The pair dropped to the ground, bowing low and rushing up to its point, San and Valkyrie flanking them. Yuri cleared it first. "Oh... God." She fell to her knees.

"Guardians kill Remnants. Remnants kill Guardians." Gray clenched his fist, "That's why the institutes exist. Why we exist. This is our war."

Yuri pulled herself to her feet, "Gray..." She moved over to the nearest guardian, a male, barely beyond puberty, a flame red wyvern draped over him in death. Yuri began to check each unit in turn.

The earth was torn up; part of the mountain walls caved over the wreckage of what must have been the other groups battle. The ground was littered with bodies, human, wyvern, remnant in a maelstrom of bloody destruction. "This is..." He looked over the scene, searching, "Li!" Flames blossomed along his arm, Gray blasting some of the debris aside, revealing a black wyvern. It wasn't Rose. "Karin and Rose aren't here..." He span a three-sixty, "One of the other pairs is missing too."

San lowered her head, allowing Yuri to scramble onto her back; the girl sniffed the air awkwardly while Gray searched the ground, "San can smell them from that direction." She pointed north, "But it's faint, they're far ahead." She gestured for him to come back, "We should give chase, come on."

Valkyrie flicked him to her back with her tail, "No." He regained his balance, "Myself and Val have had more combat experience. Go back and get Eris. I'll go after them."

"Gray, to have done this to an entire patrol group, there must be more of them than we thought..." She lined up at his side, "We should both-"

"No." He set his jaw, "I have テ「竄ャヒ徼hat'. I know what I'm doing." His voice was steadfast.

San gave a snort of disapproval. "It's alright San..." They turned, the white spreading her wings, "He may be a complete goof off sometimes... Most times... But Gray is dependable."

The man watched her out of sight, taking a few deep breaths as Val breathed an experimental breath of flame over a Remnant body. "Are we going to die, Gray?" She asked.

He smiled, "Not a chance."

She jerked her head, gesturing the road ahead, "Are you sure about that?" The rich browns of the mountain were slowly fading to darkness, not shadow but an immense wave of Remnants advancing along the route.

The forerunners were mere moments away, sleek grey bodies marking a course towards them as all eyes seemed to simultaneously lock on. Among them, he could see the converted members of the unit, barely recognisable faux-angels, bodies glossed over, flying alongside what in life had been their wyvern companions; now reduced to mere monsters. "Val, that way!" He pointed towards the east path, away from Yuri, "We'll force them to chase us until reinforcements arrive." Valkyrie sprang without question, spreading her wings and utilising her superior speed as the group matched her heading.

-

"Li!" Gray wheezed, hurling yet another sphere of flame into the oncoming mass. The remnant set alight instantly replaced by another behind it. He could hear Valkyrie panting beneath him, head hanging low as she tried to keep up a relentless pace. They were unmistakably being gained on, both wyvern and guardian at their limit as the sun began to meld with the horizon. Sweat streamed from Gray, the man mopping his brow with his scarf before firing once again, "Li!"

"Gray..." Her course was wobbling precariously, "I can't keep this up... Much longer." She turned, reducing her speed to a glide, descending to maintain as much speed as she could, "Just want you to know... Nobody else... I'd rather spend my last few minutes with... Even... Him... Always had to be... You..."

Gray raised an eyebrow, "I said at the beginning. We're not going to die." He pulled back his arm, "Li!"

A ledge was coming closer, Valkyrie lacking the strength to steer them away from it, "Acting so tough right until the end..." She chuckled ironically, "Forget it, Gray... We're finished."

The man pulled himself to his feet, balancing between her shoulders, holding out his arms and closing his eyes. He took a long breath, tensing his legs before jumping towards the wall of grey. "GE!" He disappeared into their ranks.

"Gray..." She fell to the ground, sliding along the ledge and lying back against that precipice, the abyss beneath her, the wyvern stared into the mass of Remnants. Something was wrong. The advance had halted, the group instead turning in upon itself, torrents of flame erupting from beyond, a slice of silver-white rending one of them in half. "It's not possible... Gin?"

The dragon span in the air, rising up as the enemy followed; one waging war against foes innumerable as it rained blood upon his companion. His scales were already shaded red, crimson as the eyes that met hers. Without the veil of heat clouding her mind, Valkyrie recognised him as her guardian in an instant, "Please don't hate me... I just wanted to see you smile again." The wyvern fainted.

*****

Gray's body felt heavy, his breathing deep and peaceful as he struggled against the weight of his slumber. It was as if a weight was pressed into his forehead, the guardian keeping his eyes closed as a sensation similar to an intense hangover wracked him. He groaned softly, pain shooting up his side as his inhalations became gasps. The dragon opened his eyes, a blurry world coming into light. The moon shed a soft glow over the mountains, its luminescence all that he required to see. He blinked, his vision gaining clarity as he propped up his head. "Urgh..." Valkyrie was crouched at his side, licking softly at one of his deeper wounds, the other markings littering his body already bearing evidence of her care. "What happened?"

"You're awake?" She pulled back from the gash, "When I woke up, you were passed out... And all of the remnants were..." The wyvern pointed to the side with her tail, Gray looking up to see bodies strewn over the rocks. She was silent for a moment before returning to lapping at the slash.

"You're hurt." Her back was scuffed and slashed, evidence of her rough landing on the rocks of the ledge.

"It's nothing." Her face was covered in his blood. The wearing of the stone that his newfound capabilities granted him vision over indicated that she'd had been tending to him for hours.

He coughed, pulling his head from the ground, stretching out for her neck tentatively, "Jia Ren." Gray gasped in pain as her wound faded, scuffs and cuts instead tracing a course down his own back, melding with the multitude of wounds already present.

"That wasn't necessary." She spoke coldly, forcing the dragon to prop himself up as she dealt with his off side.

"Val, I..." He glanced away.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He gasped as her tongue trailed a stab wound, only the males size saving him from death after such an array of injuries.

"You seemed so sad..." He coughed once more, spitting some blood over the ledge, "Yuri helped me talk to San. She said you were so proud to have been chosen by a dragon. You'd even bragged to the others for the first time... I planned to tell you, but after that, I knew that I couldn't."

"You lied to me." She had stopped licking, moving to his front and looking her guardian in the eye. "I can't just let that go."

"I'm so sorry, Val..." He couldn't help but cry. Between their link; he could feel her own sorrow, her own disappointment. Gray felt like a child again, the テ「竄ャヒ廛emon' with nobody, only ceasing when her tongue traced over his cheek, wiping away the tear. "Val..."

"You had a cut." She closed her eyes, "I'm not sad because of what you've done... We're wyvern and guardian, Gray テ「竄ャ" I'm like this because you lied." She returned to licking the slash over his chest. "I know that you're sorry... But you're going to promise me that you'll never do this again."

Head still swimming from what he had been through, "Lie, or mate with you?"

"Lie." She looked him in the eye, seeing her guardian inside that dragon body, "You'll need the other thing if you're going to make it up to me."

"Uh..." Gray gulped, "Huh?"

"From now on, your scaley ass is mine. You belong to me. Promise." She nicked an injured wing with her tail, "Got it?" She grinned menacingly, "And no more crying. You're a damn dragon so act like one..."

"Ok, ok..." Gray winced, lying back against the rocks, "I promise." He closed his eyes as his partner returned to licking at his front, slowly, he drifted into sleep once more. An odd sensation crept over his body, warm and somehow relieving, a few muffled words in Valkyrie's voice the last thing he heard.

-

Valkyrie yawned, glancing out beyond her guardian's unconscious body and into the light of day. Beyond the ledge, she had come across a concealed entrance to a cavern, furrows in the earth of the mountainside marking the pathway that she had forged by dragging him. Proud of her work she sat back and waited for him to regain consciousness. "Ok, now I'm bored." After only a few minutes she was on her feet, padding over and licking at the dragon's body. She smiled, the pink of her long snakelike tongue tracing over his muscled chest, marking contrast against the white as she lapped lower.

"Mmmmm..." Gray jerked himself into consciousness, yawning as she had, raising his head before dropping it back to the ground, reaching down and swatting about his groin, eyes remaining closed. They snapped open as he connected with her cheek, Valkyrie choking as she almost bit down in response. "Ah!" His draconic tool, stiff and slick with her saliva flopped against his stomach. "Damn, that's one hell of a wake up call..."

She smiled up at him innocently, "You'd best get used to it." Lips closed about his male parts once more, the wyvern arching her neck as she took the entire thing into her muzzle, Gray murring in approval. She moved more swiftly than before, more surely, having learned from her past encounter, she was now eager to demonstrate her talents. Her tongue pulled at every ridge, head bobbing as she nuzzled against his crotch.

The dragon propped himself up, brushing his thumb against her cheek, knowing that she had enjoyed the sensation since they had first met, guiding her up, "If you keep that up..."

She cuffed his hand away with a wing, "I don't care." Valkyrie returned to her task, drawing her dexterous tail up between them, her lips sealing about the head of his member as she curled the tail tip about the shaft, pumping. It wasn't long before her guardian let loose a roar, spraying his seed down her throat. The wyvern paced herself, swallowing his load before disengaging, leaning back against the opposing wall as he panted, a crimson across silver cheeks.

He smiled, pulling himself up and taking a step forwards before his expression turned to one of confusion, "Wait a second..." He looked himself over, "I'm healed. Completely. Did you...?" Further questions faded from his mind as he noted her scent, the wyvern lying on her back, tail working feverously between her legs as she fucked herself.

Valkyrie blushed, hiding her face slightly as she put on a show for the male, slickness running between her legs as she built a pace that she was so used to after all of these nights alone. A shadow covered her, Gray having advanced, standing over and leaning close to kiss, the taste of his own cum still present upon her lips, "Use your mouth for something else..." The wyverns wing claws latched onto his shoulders, pushing him down her body as his tongue traced a course. He pulled out her tail, licking the azure clean before sealing his lips about her cunt, instantly receiving a reaction as he set to his pride. His nose brushed against her clit each time he shuffled against her, his tongue extending to its limits as he worked to return her prior favour. He pushed forwards, working to get deeper, jaw aching as he flicked his tongue at its limit before finally, the tip of his muzzle completely embedded itself into her sex. She cried out his name as fluids sprayed out over his face.

Gray spread her legs lapping all that he could, only just noticing that her tail had moved lower, now slowly fucking her own tail hole as his tongue trailed her clit. Gray couldn't hold his lust in check any longer, moving upwards, licking up her body until he met his wyvern in a kiss once again, his ribbed cock sinking into the squirming female. He had inherited more draconic traits than he had realised, his motions always swift and brutal, yet she loved it, bucking her hips to meet his as her tail pumped to match his pace. The dragon broke this kiss to bite her shoulder as he bred her, thrusting viciously, her own words from the night before playing in his head, テ「竄ャヒ弸ou're a damn dragon so act like one.'

He grinned, pulling out, determined to offer at least some resistance to her orders. As if reading his thoughts, as soon as he released her, she twisted in his grasp, lifting her tail as he pinned it between them, leaning in close as he pressed softly between her legs. She whimpered, the sound seeming strange coming from such a creature, yet Gray failed to cave, pulling back slightly before slowly sinking his dick into her tail hole. His wyvern cried out, pleasure and pain melded into one as she was forced to take something much larger than her own tail tip. The dragon slowly pushed his way to the hilt, feeling her shudder beneath him as he waited for Valkyrie to get used to his girth. Moments later, he began to set a slow rhythm, grinding his hips against hers while holding back the instinct to pound the grasping tightness.

"Please..." He could feel the wet running down her legs, the wyvern desperately trying to dislodge her tail so that she could deal with herself. "Let me cum, Gray..." He clasped her tail in his jaws, pinning it against her neck as he bit down dominantly, his pace slowly building as she cried out beneath his larger body. "Ah... Gray!" The pain had faded, his partner bucking up against him with reckless abandon, "Fuck my ass!"

The dragon obliged, "I may be yours, but you belong to me too... Don't forget..." His hand slid about her thigh, pausing an inch before the soaked scales, "Deal?"

"Deal!" She was lost in the need to get herself off, "I'll do whatever you want! Just fuck me harder!" Gray smiled, increasing his pace once again, fingering her rapidly as he felt the wyvern clench about him; screaming out as an orgasm tore through her. Instantly his fingers were replaced by that thick purple member, the silver-grey dragon continuing to pound away throughout her climax, feeling his own build closer as he hammered that familiar wetness.

Gray reached his peak with agonising slowness, holding true to the stamina of his race as his partner continued to squirm beneath him. The wyvern went limp as he finally buried himself, his cum overflowing from her, dripping down her body and onto the ground. He pulled out at last, curling up at her side, breathing deeply as the pair recovered their strength.

His exhalation brought a small tongue of flame, the light dancing about the cave roof for an instant before fading into nothingness. His eyes narrowed as he fired a second jet, an image revealed above them, carved into stone as if it had been melted by flames identical to his own. An illustration of two dragons and a caption beneath, "Gin Kyanar テ「竄ャ" Lucile Vreas."

Several miles away, Remnants circled a pair of wyverns, a jade male lying injured upon the ground, his guardian staring up at Karin from her feet. Rose roared, clamping her jaws about the male's throat, holding him down as she advanced upon the guardian, "You certainly were difficult to track... trying to loop around to get help... You should know there's no escape from me."

"You've betrayed us all, Dark Type..." He snarled up at her, "You turned on us." His purple scarf blew in a rogue wind as he brought up his palm, "Zhen!"

Lightning blasted from him, the girl simply muttering under her breath, "Pi." She waved it away, the energy dissipating into nothingness. "Pitiful. Cui." She made a downwards motion, the man's neck breaking audibly. Rose released the wyvern as it went limp in her grasp.

Overhead, the masses of Gray descended onto the bodies.

Well, there it is. I want to write a little more, but these two stories have been in a style differing to what I'm used to... So I'm worried about how they've turned out. I've enjoyed it non-the-less though. Thanks for reading. ^_^; Please rate and review.
