(Naki)

Well it turns out the crashing noise we had heard from the house was the wife dropping a mixing bowl instead of an assassin attack though the rest of the vigil despite my low expectations had gone without a problem.

We got the quest reward and finished our meal then after bidding farewell to Zen and Rain I remained in the area. I stayed in the forest though I remained for the further rune training practice and to be able to hunt and such myself. In this matter, several days had passed.

When I finally remembered that to check my status it was almost noon on the 4th? maybe it was the 5th day. I had been so focused on improving myself that I'd honestly lost track of the flow of time. It wasn't like I needed to log out or anything after all. While Yes I still had stopped to make myself meals and hunt and handle other aspects of my hygiene as they came up for the most part I've not even so much as glanced at the system clock to figure out the time.

I decided to look at my Stats. With a quick thought on the menu it appeared.

I considered my options and decided to increase my Charisma and Strength each by 2. The new totals of 12 glittered at me. I opened up the vast web of the skill menu. Getting swallowed up by the various lines and text it looked as if I had just dove into a blue ocean of information.

I could level up my current skills but they would also level up naturally through use, so I considered that a waste of the skill points. I swiped my hands and eddies of skill trees flew by as if blown by a strong wind. Finally I slowed down and began to search a particular thought in mind.

Taming Level 1 (1 SP)

Unlocks the ability to tame low level creatures. (Level 5 is the current taming limit).

Do you wish to unlock For 1 SP? Y/N?

I clicked yes and then checked around the diverging skills to see if there was anything else interesting among them.

I chose another skill called Gainful Stomach Level 1 which would let meals satisfy a tamed creature for longer.

I dove further along and picked up ** Leather Working Level 1 ** and decided that would do for now.

I reopened my skill menu to look over it one more.

I dismissed the menu after a few moments of studying it. It seemed that while I had the leather working skill I had yet to develop the sub skill which was tanning. I could buy it of course but usually if one attempted to use said skill one would learn it naturally. Or at least that's what I had asked Zen over the past couple of days and had it confirmed by him.

I got to my feet and stood up with a sigh popping my back and looking around for a few moments before deciding to venture into the forest looking for a suitable creature to tame. I was hoping to get a fox of course but after a few mins of looking I was unable to uncover any tracks. Apparently I must have inadvertently hunted the area dry over the past few days.

I frowned as I considered that thought. I had only hunted twice a day and my prey had usually been rabbits. It had only been 4 days. Even if I had to consider limited respawns and such for resources there was no way that I should have been able to overhunt the area.

This might have been the game's way of telling me I needed to move along so I shrugged and made my way out of the forest angling myself so that I'd step on the path and start heading back towards the town that I had passed through previously. While it was true that I had a bit more currency then the last time I had visited I was loathe to spend it though I did realize that it was probably a good idea to stop by the shops to consider getting my clothes and weapon durability restored.

For the small fee of 4 silvers I was able to restore everything to full durability and then I continued on my way window shopping as I went out of the town taking my sweet time. Little did I know there seemed to be something watching me from the edges of the forest.

Silvery blue eyes observed me from afar seemingly glaring at me with hostile intent for my previous hunting actions. Not that I of course was any the wiser. I kept myself on the path out of town humming a slow tune.
