Ch. 8 Haunting Moon
Back at the mansion, Hans took Danny up into the attic. "This was her wedding dress," said Hans.
Danny looked over it, smiling. "It's beautiful." He then looked to the portrait nearby. "And... is this her?"
"Yes... You have her looks," said Hans softly and looked down sadly, but he felt Danny's paw in his own.
"I... thank you, Hans." Danny blushed. "I know she must have been really, really loved."
"Yes," said Hans softly, "May... May I make love to you?"
"I-I... Uh..." If Danny's face was red before, that request made the dalmatian's face burn with overwhelming heat. "Uh, I mean... I'm not opposed, but..." He gulped. "I didn't think you'd, uh... approve of... g-guys and guys..." Despite the nervousness in his voice, and the way he ducked his head in embarrassment, his tail was wagging furiously in eager delight.
"Well, there's always a first time for everything," said Hans softly as he gently lifted Danny's chin to lightly kiss his lips.
"Mmm..." Danny wrapped his arms around Hans, kissing back. Some part of him knew that this was probably wrong, but in the moment he couldn't resist giving himself up to the handsome, charming German Shepard in front of him. "A-alright, then. Should we go somewhere, or is here okay…?"
"I know just the place," said Hans as he led the way. Meanwhile, Josh had woken up from a long nap in his room when he thought he heard voices. He got up and saw Danny and Hans going into a room. He was about to follow when Ramsley waved his hand and the stallion froze in mid step. "The master does not wish to be interrupted," said the beagle as he snapped his finger and a headless horseman came up and set the stallion on his horse. "Take him to the ranch from whence he came," said Ramsley and the horseman took off with Josh still frozen and they flew through the front door and Josh was taken back to the ranch. Back at Bona Manor, Hans was kissing Danny deeply and lovingly in the master bedroom.
"Mmmf... mmnn..." Danny moaned softly and submissively, pressing himself against the older canine. His hands roamed over Hans' shoulders and arms, and he blushed when his hips bucked and ground the hardness in his pants on the german shepherd's thigh. And he gulped and moaned when he felt a similar hardness pushing against his stomach. “Hans..."
Hans held Danny close and the pup thought he saw tears in his grandfather's eyes. "It's been... so long since I've felt actual love," he whimpered softly.
Danny's expression grew more tender at the sight, and he cupped and rubbed the German Shepard's cheek. "You deserve to feel love, just like... like Uncle Gerald and Daddy." He gulped softly. "Gra-... uh, Hans... can I...?" He moved his paws to the German Shepard's shirtfront, taking hole of one of the buttons and preparing to pop it open before looking up to meet his grandfather's gaze.
"You may... My love," said Hans softly as he cupped Danny's cheek and lovingly kissed him deep and passionately as his cock was starting to bulge under his pants.
Danny kissed Hans in return as he slowly opened the German Shepard's shirt, baring the older canine's chest. He stroked through the older male's chest fur -- even gave the pert nubs of Hans' nipples a few gentle rubs, and then slid the shirt off Hans' shoulders to let it fall to the floor. And then he reached down, rubbing the growing tent in his grandfather's slacks, and began to unbutton and undo the German Shepard's fly while nuzzling and kissing Hans' chest. “Mmm..."
"Allow me," said Hans as he helped Danny slip out of his t-shirt to reveal his beautiful, spotty body, "You look so beautiful."
"Thank you." Danny smiled, ducking his head and wagging his tail. "And you're so handsome." He finally got the older man's fly open, and as he pushed the slacks down Hans' legs he moved down to his knees to snuffle into the German's Shepard's revealed crotch. He sniffed the bulge in Hans' underwear, slow and deep, and then pressed a tender kiss to it while looking right up into the older canine's eyes. "You're sexy, Granddaddy Hans."
"And I'll look even more sexier once you remove my underwear," said Hans as he also did the same to Danny gently and slowly kissed down his grandson's body and removed Danny's underwear to give his grandson's sheath a loving lick.
Danny moaned in delight at the licking, and smiled down to his grandfather. "Can you lay down on the bed? I wanna show you all the love I can give you." He scratched his granddaddy behind the ears, softly and lovingly and splaying his thighs to let the older canine explore his crotch as much as he wanted.
The naked German Shepherd looked up and smiled and gave his grandson a hug and kiss on the mouth. "Of course," he said as he lay back down with his front on full display for Danny.
Danny moved to the bed as well, straddling the older canine. Their nude bodies pressing against each other as he kissed the German Shepard. "I love you, Granddady." Another kiss to the lips, and then he scooted down a bit to rub and nuzzle Hans' chest once more. "I love your handsome face, and your sexy chest. And..." He blushed, snuffling into and sniffing one armpit, and then the other. "I love your musky smell." Then he moved down lower, kissing the other canine's stomach in a trail that led to Hans' crotch. "I love your sexy body, and your big musky sheath and balls." He kissed said sheath and balls, giving them a slow and loving lick. Then he kissed his way up the hardening shaft, and gave his granddaddy's cocktip a short and gentle suckle. "I love your cock, how it smells and tastes and feels." He smiled, grasping that length and slowly beginning to pump it.
"Ah... And I love... Your compassion," moaned Hans softly, "And your cute spots... And your eagerness."
"And I love how charming you are." Danny giggled softly, and then began to suck on Hans' cock in earnest. Slow. Gentle. Bobbing his head in an easy motion as he worked his way down the length of it. Humming in pleasure as he managed to hilt the entire shaft in his mouth and throat, and once more bury his nose in Hans' pubic fur while his lips kissed that plump and fleshy sheath.
"D-Danny... I... I want to breed you... Please... Be the mother of my new pups," whimpered Hans softly.
"Mmmmnnn..." Danny moaned softly, pulling off to smile at Hans. "I want it too, Granddaddy. And I'm..." He blushed. "I'm fertile. So please... please breed me."
"I will," said Hans as he sat up and pulled Danny into a passionate hug while still kissing the pup and slowly lowering him onto his hard cock.
"Haaah...!" Danny wrapped his arms around Hans, whimpering and moaning in pleasure as he felt that throbbing erection sinking into his hot, tight, fertile depth. "Ohhh... it feels so good inside me."
"And it'll feel even batter," said Hans as he humped slowly while kissing along Danny's shoulder and then began to hump faster as he felt close.
"Mmmmnn... Granddaddy... please knot me...!" Danny huffed and groaned and bucked back against every single one of the German Shepard's thrusts.
Hans panted and he rolled Danny onto his back as Hans humped deeper and deeper and then he howled as his knot finally locked them together.
Danny howled as well as his own cock throbbed, pulsed, and spurted his load all over himself. He panted, staring up at the older canine, and then pulled Hans down into a slow and deep kiss. “Mmmm..."
"I love you," panted Hans as he tenderly nuzzled Danny and caressed the pup's face.
"Mmm, I love you, too." Danny smiled, nuzzling Hans in return and settling into the older canine's loving embrace. "Nn... do you think... you and Uncle Gerry and dad could ever reconcile…?"
"Well... It's not as simple as you think," said Hans sadly, "I was the cause of their mother's death and it hurt them deeply."
"There has to be more to it." Danny nuzzled into Hans' chest. "I don't know what happened between you and Grandma, or... you and Uncle Gerry and Daddy..." He gulped. “But..."
"Shhh," hushed Hans gently, "Let's just enjoy this tenderness while it lasts." In the graveyard, Joey and the others were walking through the tombstones looking for the place that Leota told them about.
"Okay. Make a left at the old oak." Gerald was looking around. "...Can anyone tell whether any of these are oak trees?" "Uh..." Bobby looked to Hank. Hank looked over to Joey. Joey shrugged, and Max and Adrian sighed. "Aren't you the one who should know where we're going? This is your family plot." Gerald huffed softly, crossing his arms in response to Adrian's question. "Well... it's been a while since I've been here."
Just then, they heard some singing and when they rounded the corner, they found a bust quartet singing.
"...grim-grinning ghosts come out to socialize~!"
"Huh." Max blinked. "You remember anything like that, Ger?" "I heard stories about singing in the graveyard way back when I was young. Guess these are the guys..."
"_When the crypt doors creak _
_and the tombstones quake, _
_spooks come out for a swingin' wake. _
Happy haunts-"
"Ah, excuse me!" Gerald moved forward, interrupting the singing. "Excuse me, gentlemen? We were wondering if you could tell us where the mausoleum is?"
"Dowwwwwwn by the old mill...~"
_"Old mill stream _
_Where I first met you _
First I met you,"
Sang the busts and Billy raised his eyebrows at them.
"No, no." Gerald sighed. "They said it was by an old oak, you know? By-"
"_Byyyy the liiiight~ _
_By the light, by the light~ _
Of the silvery moooooon~"
"Okay, look. You guys sing really good, but we need to help my son." Paul stepped forward. "He'll be-"
"_Comin' round the mountain when she comes~ _
She'll be comin' round the mountain when she comes~"
Bobby was trying hard not to laugh at how funny the busts were. And he would have stayed some more if the situation wasn't so dire.
Paul and Gerald, meanwhile, shared an exasperated look while Max and Adrian suppressed chuckles of their own. "Look!" Paul moved forward a bit more. "Listen, please. We're trying to find a key-"
"_Wheeere's theeeee~ _
_key, where's the key, where's the beautiful key, _
find the key, find the key, oh how happy you'll be~"
"The key we're trying to find is in the mausoleum." Gerald tried not to growl in frustration.
"_The key is in the mausoleum!" _
_"You left your keeeeeeey~ _
_in a mausoleummmmm~ _
dooooooown in Dixie~"
"Guys! There it is," called Billy from the sides.
"_Guys, there it iiiiiiiiiisss" _
Guuuys There iiiiit iiiiiiiis!"
The group moved away from the busts, following the sound of Billy's voice. And there indeed it was: a massive mausoleum, it's entrance flanked by a pair of cloaked and hooded statues. The torches the statues were holding flared to life at their approach, and the crow perched on the carving on the roof of it took flight.
"Can anyone read that?" asked Bobby looking at some writing on the door.
"I can." Hank stepped forward. "Studied latin in college for one of my courses. And you said it was foolish." He looked to Joey, elbowing the older tiger's side as the father rolled his eyes. Hank cleared his throat, and began to read. "Beware all who enter, for here lies the passage to the dead."
Bobby started to walk away. "Hey, where are you going?" asked Billy. "I don't like Latin," said Bobby.
"Okay." Gerald looked to Paul, and nodded. Then the two canines looked to the rest of the group. "You all stay out here."
"But who's gonna go in?" asked Billy.
"We will." Paul took Gerald's hand, and the German Shepard gave his brother's paw a squeeze in return. "It's our family's crypt, so... it only makes sense, right?"
"Just be careful," said Joey as he came up to Gerald and kissed him lovingly and Billy hugged Paul.
"We will." Gerald smiled, kissing Joey in return as Paul hugged and nuzzled Billy. Then the two brothers worked together to open the heavy stone door. A dark, cobweb-filled passage led down into the earth, and the two canines made their way down the stairs as they held each other's paws.
"Now what was it that gypsy said to look for?" asked Paul, "Look for a crypt with... Look for a crypt... " "A crypt with no name," said Billy as he was right behind them.
The two canines jumped, and then looked to the human. "Billy, I thought we told you." Paul sighed. "We'll handle this. Go stay with Joey and-" "Well, he's down here already." Gerald sighed, and then gently clapped Billy on the shoulder with a smile. "And more pairs of eyes will find what we're looking for more quickly."
"I was worried you guys wouldn't find it," said Billy, "Besides, Daddy and the others are fine. She said 'Find the black crypt with no name or soon your fate will be the same'."
"Alright. Black crypt with no name." Gerald nodded, looking around the shadowy crypt chamber. "Should be... a breeze. Right…?"
Finally, they saw it in the very center of the tomb. All black and with no name on it.
Paul looked to Gerald. Gerald glanced to Billy. All three men nodded, moving forward. "Alright. On three?" Paul moved to the side of the tomb, grabbing the top of it, and Gerald moved to help him heave it open to open the massive thing.
When the lid was remove, all that was inside was a decomposed body with its hands over its chest and in its hands was the key.
Paul grimaced, looking to Gerald. "You, uh... you wanna do the honors?" "Alright..." Gerald nodded his head for a moment in respect for the dead, and then reach forward to pry the key out of the decomposed body's hand.
They finally got it, but as they turned to leave, the dead body sat up and growled as it turned to look at the intruders.
"Paul, Billy, behind me." Gerald's paw instinctively moved to his hip, but he growled when he remembered he'd left his gun behind. "Alright, just stay right were you are..." He kept his eyes on the body as he and the other two slowly backed away towards the stairs upward.
But the zombie didn't listen as it slowly lunged at Gerald.
Gerald blocked the lunge with his forearms, and then kicked at the zombie to send it stumbling back. "Billy! Paul! Run!"
Suddenly, more zombies came out and all three men ran for it.
Up the stairs, all three men taking them two at a time. They saw the others standing outside at the doorway, calling for them to hurry up, before the mausoleum door slammed shut.
Billy screamed out to Joey. "Daddy! Open the door! Please!" he cried as he pounded on the door.
Joey immediately rushed forward, pausing only for a moment as he saw spiders crawl out of the shadows to perch on the door. "I don't have time to deal with you, I've gotta save my son!" He began batting the arachnids away. "Guys, help me!" Bobby, Hank, Adrian, and Max, all rushed forward to help, batting the spiders away and grunting as they tried to force the rusty door latch back open. They finally managed it, pulling the door open to let Billy, Paul, and Gerald through rush; and then slamming it shut just before the zombies who were climbing up the steps could do the same.
They got out just in time and slammed the door on the zombies. Billy ran to Joey hugging him tightly and crying. "I've never been so glad to see you," he whimpered.
"Shhh... shhh, boy. I'm here. Daddy's here." He hugged Billy tight, kissing the human's temple and forehead and nuzzling him. Bobby and Hank moved to comfort their brother as well, while Max nodded to Gerald and Paul. "You got what you were looking for?" "Yup." Gerald held the key up. "Now, to just let the truth be known…"
They returned to Madame Leota with the key. "Now, where's the door out of this place," said Paul. "First, you must find the trunk," said Leota.
"Of course." Gerald sighed. "I guess the trunk would be somewhere up in the attic?"
"Look, I don't make the rules, alright? I just work here," said Leota.
"Yeah..." Gerald drew himself up, and then looked to Leota with a nod. "Thank you very much. We wouldn't be able to do this without your help." "So, up to the attic to find this chest, then?" Paul looked around. "That'll help us make the truth known?"
"Yeah, but we want to make sure," said Bobby as he reached for the gypsy. "Hey, what're you doing? Put me down!" cried Leota, "Please don't drop me. I'm fragile. I'm very fragile."
And so the group made their way backstairs, Bobby carrying Leota's crystal ball carefully as Gerald and Paul led the way.
Finally, they found the chest they were looking for. "Find the thing that must be read, lest your heart be filled with dread," said Leota.
"You know, you don't have to spin a rhyme every time." Max blinked, and then grunted. "Great, now she's got me doing it..." Gerald fitted the key in the chest's lock, turning it and opening the lid.
"Wait, there's a letter in here," said Hank as he lifted it up. Paul and Gerald recognized it as their mother's: "Yes, my dear heart, I will go with you. I will love you for all eternity. Tonight at last, our family will be together. I love you. Forever yours, Selena." "She didn't kill herself," said Emma. "She wanted to be with him," said Ezra.
"Then that means she was poisoned." Hank looked to Paul and Gerald, who were staring at the letter. "And..." Paul gulped, and shuddered. "And I think I have an idea of who did it."
"Yes. Well done, Mr. Paul and Mr. Gerald. I must say I'm impressed," said Ramsley from behind them, "The boys are more persistent than I would have ever imagined."
Hank, Bobby, and Gerald immediately stood up, holding their arms up and moving to shield Billy, Paul, Max, and Adrian from Ramsley. "You... it was you?"
Emma and Ezra were shocked as well when the beagle glared at them. "I will deal with you two later," he growled and both servants disappeared leaving the boys with the butler.
"Do the math, you old fart." Bobby snorted in contempt." It's seven against one. What do you think you can do to us, huh?"
"But first, I want to know why you killed our mother," said Paul. "Because the master would not listen to reason," said Ramsley, "He had everything in the world and yet he was willing to throw it all away for love. I did tell him it would end badly." "You're a heartless monster," growled Gerald. "No, Mr. Gerald. I am a rational man," said Ramsley, "It was my responsibility to the house, my duty, sir, to see to it that your father did not give in to weakness no make a foolish error in judgment. Running away with that girl, the wretch who bore such weakling sons, and showing mercy would have destroyed this house. It would have destroyed everything. And I could not stand by and watch it all fall to ruin."
"Yeah?" Hank looked around the rotting, cobweb filled room. "And how's that working out for ya, huh?"
"Joke all you want, Mr. Hank," said Ramsley, "But your plans are of little importance now. Hans and his love will be reunited and this curse will be broken." "But that's not Selena," said Bobby, "That's Danny." "Regardless, the only thing that matters is that the master's pain must end, and it will end tonight," said Ramsley as he walked over to Selena's wedding dress, "The curse will be broken and we can all finally move on."
"Only way this curse is being broken is when we show this to my dad." Gerald held up the note. "And when we tell him exactly what you did." "Yeah. We're marching right down there and puttin' a stop to this charade right now." Hank nodded. "So, you gonna stand aside n' let us do this the easy way? Or you wanna do it the hard way?"
"The master must never know," said Ramsley, "And as for Danny, as Mr. Bobby pointed out, he's getting ready for his wedding." "What wedding? He can't marry his grandfather," said Billy, "Han's is dead and Danny's not." "True," said Ramsley, "But that can be easily corrected. Life, I'm afraid, is such a delicate state." "I'm gonna kill you!" growled Paul as he made to punch Ramsley, but he ran right through him. "How wonderful," said Ramsley sounding amused, "You're going to kill a ghost."
Bobby grabbed an old umbrella, swinging it through Ramsley's head; not in attempt to actually hit him, but to distract him. "Paul, Gerald, Billy, go to Danny and Hans and get that note to them! We'll keep Mr. Grim Grinning Ghost here busy!"
But then Ramsley waved his hand and all three tigers, plus Billy and the two dobermans, were locked in separate trunks. leaving Paul and Gerald alone with Ramsley. "Well, if you two want out, fine," said the butler as he grabbed Gerald and Paul by their throats, "Let me show you out." Then he flew up to the tower and he appeared smokey in the moonlight. "Now, for the last time, good night, Mr. Paul and Mr. Gerald," he said as the tossed the two dogs out the window and all other windows locked themselves and closed the shutters tightly.
The pair fell, screaming and flailing, through the air. Luckily, their fall was broken by the branches of the overgrown trees outside the mansion; and luckily, Paul just missed falling onto the wrought-iron spikes of the fence. "Ugggghhh..." With a groan, Gerald forced himself up. "Paul...? Paul!" He made his way over to the Dalmatian, ignoring the pain of his bruises and cuts to help his brother sit up. "You alright?"
"I think so," grunted Paul sitting up, "But Ramsley's going to kill my son. How do we get back in? He shut all the windows."
"I don't know. We need to think." Gerald gritted his teeth, looking around. "We need to..." He paused when his eyes landed on Hank and Joey's truck.
But Paul had already ran to the library window, which had a greenery on the side. He grabbed a stick and was trying to break the glass but it kept repairing itself. Meanwhile, Hans led Danny back into the ballroom. "This house has waited so long to have its shroud of darkness lifted," said the German Shepherd, "And tonight, for the first time in so many years, I believe it maybe possible the story will finally end differently. Danny, do you believe that love is about second chances? About forgiveness?"
"Well..." The Dalmatian's eyes dropped to the floor. He took in a deep breath, thinking about his father, and then nodded. "Yes. Yeah, I believe so."
But the German Shepherd furrowed his eyebrows. "Don't you remember?" he asked, "Don't you recognize me at all? I thought certainly bringing you back to Bona Manor would help you remember." "Remember what, Hans? You're scaring me," said Danny with his tail lowering. "Where it happened," said Hans as he held Danny's paws in his own and dozens of ghostly furs were dancing all around, "Where we spent our last moments together, where we danced together for the last time before you... Before you killed yourself! But now you've returned to me, and at last we can be together. Why do you not remember? You were my world, my life! And I have loved you in death as I did in life!"
Danny struggled against the older man's grip, finally pulling himself free. "Let me go!" And with that, he rushed out of the ballroom and down the hall.
"Why do you not remember?" called Hans and Danny was about to reach the stairs when Hans appeared before him again. "You are her. You are Selena. You must be," he said as he appeared on another level of the staircase, "Can you not sense it? Search your heart. I am your one true love. And now we can finally be together. Don't you understand?"
"Selena, you must listen to me!" Danny continued down the hall, rushing to the bedrooms; to Paul and Gerald's guest room. "I'm not Selena!" "Please, I implore you!" "Leave me alone! Get away from me!" He slammed the bedroom door, shaking and biting back sobs. "Uncle Gerry, Daddy, something's wrong with-!" He turned, and found the room empty; no sign of either the German Shepard or the Dalmatian.
Hans leaned against the door sobbing. "He doesn't remember," he sniffled, "It can't be her."
"It is her, sir." When Hans turned, he found Ramsley standing at his shoulder. "The gypsy woman prophesied her return."
"But he doesn't remember," said Hans and he looked at the door as he placed a paw on it, "I'm sorry."
A hand landed on his shoulder, turning him back towards Ramsley so that the butler could straighten his Master's tie. "Now, the time has come. You'd best get ready." Then he brushed the German Shepard's shoulders off. "In time he will remember, sir. I assure you, he will."
While Danny was trying the windows, Ramsley appeared behind him.
He turned, and let out a sigh of relief. "Oh Ramsley... you have to help me. There's something horribly wrong... Hans, he-!"
"Yes, I know, my boy. I know," said the beagle, "He's expecting you. He's always been expecting you. And you haven't put on your dress yet. We can't keep the master waiting." He walked over to Selena's old wedding dress on the bed as Ramsley directed Danny's attention to it.
"Waiting...?" Danny gulped, looking from the dress to the beagle and back again in confusion and mounting horror. "Waiting for what…?"
"Why, your wedding, of course," said Ramsley.
"My...?" He shook his head. This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening. In desperation, he pleaded with Ramsley. "I'm not Selena…!"
"Of course you are, my boy," said Ramsley as he stepped closer to the pup, "You may not see it yet but in time you will."
"You don't think I'm actually going through with this madness, do you…?!"
"Oh yes. I very much do," said Ramsley as he waved a hand over a mirror to show each one of Danny's lovers inside their own individual trunks, "You see, we wouldn't want anything to happen to your friends, now, would we?"
Danny stared in horror. Joey and Hank, Bobby and Billy, Max and Adrian. Then he rounded on Ramsley. "You wouldn't."
"Of course not, my boy," said Ramsley, "But that is entirely up to you. If not, I really do fear for your friends." He strolled out of the room and after giving a stern reprimand to Emma and Ezra, they helped Danny into the dress. Ezra was playing the wedding march off key as Hans came down in a tuxedo.
Danny made his way down the aisle, his breathing coming in harsh shudders as he tried not to sob. Hans glanced to Ramsley in return, but the beagle just shrugged.
"Tears of joy," assured the beagle as he looked down at Danny. Outside, Paul had given up trying to get in. He and Gerald couldn't get in. Just then, a familiar green glow appeared off to the side. "What are you doing?" said Leota.
"Trying to get back in. Ramsley threw us out, and who knows what that bastard Hans is doing to Danny...!" Paul heaved in panic, while Gerald stroked his back to try and soothe his brother.
"Oh, I see," said Leota, "You two are just gonna sit there feeling sorry for yourselves."
"Well what do you suggest we do, oh wise seer?" Gerald crossed his arms over his chest, snorting.
"Well, they only true failure is when you stop trying," she said, "Try again."
"Try again?" Gerald huffed, looking at the windows. "How? They just keep repairing themselves when we..." He trailed off, humming in thought. "Gerald?" "Paul, Leota..." Gerald grinned to the two. "Get in the truck."
When they were in the truck, Paul was holding Leota and Gerald was in the driver's seat and he put the truck in reverse. "Hold on," said Gerald. Leota looked up at him. "With what?" she asked.
Gerald glanced to Paul, and and the Dalmatian nodded and clung tighter to the crystal ball. Then he put the truck in drive, and floored it; right towards a massive window.
In the ball room, Hans held out his paw to Danny. "Selena?" he said softly with love and care in his eyes while Ramsley glared at the pup to remind him of the consequences.
Danny trembled, and took Hans' paw. “Y-yes..."
They both walked to the altar as Ramsley performed the ceremony. Meanwhile, Paul and Gerald saw the trunks that their lovers were inside right in the middle of the armory.
"Hank! Joey! Guys!" The two canines rushed forward, trying to undo the trunk latches to free their lovers one by one.
But then the suits of armor came to life and they stood in the way with their weapons drawn.
"Well... crap." Gerald looked to Paul. "You up for this, little brother?" “Yeah..."
They fought their way through the suits till they used the weapons to free the others. Ramsley had just poisoned a goblet and Danny was about to drink it when the door burst open.
"If there is any who would object to this union-" "Yeah!" Gerald called out, leading the charge of the guys into the ballroom. "I got a couple objections." "Danny!" Paul called out, seeing his son in a wedding dress next to Hans. "Daddy! Uncle Gerry!" The younger Dalmatian cried out, rushing over to fling himself into the pair's arms.
"Get away from her," said Hans growling as he drew a sword, "I lost Selena once. I don't intend to let it happen again. Selena. Please, come along."
"For the last fucking time, dad, this isn't Selena. This is Danny, Paul's son!" Gerald stood in between Hans and Paul as the older Dalmatian hugged and shielded the younger one. "Ramsley, tell him the truth!"
"I don't know what you're talking about," said the beagle, "Must we continue to listen to the ramblings of two lunatics?"
"Oh, so suddenly you've got amnesia, huh?" Joey stepped up beside Gerald. "Selena didn't kill herself, he did!" He pointed to Ramsley, glaring at the beagle. "He's been lying to you all along!"
"That is absurd," said Ramsley. Hans lifted his sword again but then Billy stepped in. "We have proof," he said, and grabbed the note from Gerald, "This is Selena's real letter." Hans picked it up and looked at it as his anger changed to confusion. "What's the meaning of this?" he asked Ramsley, "It's Selena's handwriting."
The beagle stayed silent for a long moment. And then, finally... "Your union was unacceptable. I tried to warn you... and the evidence was right in front of you..." He glared, hatefully, at Gerald and Paul. "...But you wouldn't listen."
"So you killed her," growled Hans. "I told you it would be a mistake to run away with that girl and her two brats," said Ramsley. "But I loved her! And I loved my sons," he said, "Was love my mistake?" "Yes!" barked Ramsley, "I tried to protect you. All these years I've sacrificed for you. But what would you understand of sacrifice, duty or honor? You loved them. Well, damn you. Damn you all to hell!" Suddenly, his eyes glowed white and several dark spirits flew in screeching and causing havoc.
The group huddled together, Gerald and Joey and Hank doing their best to shield their lovers. Gerald heard a cracking sound, and looked over to where the fireplace was crumbling into itself. And in its place, a rocky passage which led straight down into the fiery depths of hell itself. Something rose up from those depths. Something made of hellfire, long and sinuous. Its eyes burning bright as it hissed like a snake and then roared like a dragon. Its tongue lashed out, stretching and weaving through the air to wrap around Ramsley. The beagle screamed in agony as he was lifted into the air and dragged towards the pit; however, he reached out to grab Gerald's leg, dragging the German Shepard along with him.
"Gerald!" cried Danny as he watched his uncle hold on for dear life as Ramsley was screaming as he tried to drag the oldest son of Hans Bona down with him.
"Nnngh... let... go you... old... bastard...!" Gerald kicked at Ramsley, trying desperately to cling to the pit's edge; however, his grip was quickly slipping. His paws trembled in exertion, as he started to lose it... and then a pair of paws reached down to grab his forearm and hold onto him. Hans. "Dad...?!" Gerald stared up at the older German Shepard, and then felt Ramsley lose his own grip on his leg. The beagle fell, screaming, into the fiery depths as Hans and Gerald watched.
Hans pulled his oldest son out of the pit as it closed up again. "I lost you and your mother... I don't want that happening to you again," he said, "I love you, Gerald."
"Dad..." Gerald trembled, and finally pulled the older German Shepard into a hug.
"I'm sorry about all those times I was so hard on you," said Hans softly hugging Gerald.
"If that bastard Ramsley was breathing down your neck all those years..." Gerald trailed off. "...I forgive you, dad. But you need to apologize to Paul, too." He looked over to his brother and Danny.
But Danny was on the ground rasping slowly. "It's the poison!" said Ezra.
"Danny!" Both Gerald and Hans rushed over as the group gathered around him. "Give him some space, guys!" Max and Adrian gently moved the others out of the way as they leaned over him. "Damn... the hospital's in the middle of town. And I doubt there's anything here to treat him..." "No..." Gerald and Paul grasped their boy's paw, squeezing it. Paul choked back a sob. "Danny... I can't lose you, not like this. Please…"
Off to the side, the same ghost ball from earlier slowly floated over to them.
Bobby and Billy were the first to notice it. They nudged their older brother, who tapped Joey on the shoulder. "Gerry. Paul..." Joey's voice drew the two canines' attention, and they looked over. "Oh, what now...?" Gerald grimaced. "You... who are you...?" The ghost ball floated over, emitting a gentle -- somehow soothing -- light. Gerald growled when it moved to hover over Danny's chest, but Paul put a hand on his brother's shoulder to hold the German Shepard back. The ball entered into Danny's body, and…
Above them, a bright light shone down upon them. Danny's body began to glow softly and float into the air and then straightened up. "Selena? Is it you?" asked Hans. "Yes, my love," said Danny in two voices, one was his own and another was a woman's voice.
"So the ghost ball was Selena...?" Bobby glanced to Hank. "The truth needed to be known for me to be released." Danny -- Selena -- looked to Gerald and Paul with a gentle smile. "Our sons saved me." Paul smiled in return, while Gerald rubbed the back of his neck shyly. "Well, of course. What else could we have done?"
"Oh, Selena," said Hans smiling as he wagged his tail. "Yes, my darling?" said Selena as she floated down to the German Shepherd. "I've waited so long for this moment," he said. "And now only heaven awaits," said Selena as she kissed Hans lovingly. To the others, they thought it was Danny in drag making out with a ghost.
Not exactly the oddest thing, but still. Paul glanced to Gerald, and then cleared his throat and tapped Hans on the shoulder. "Uh, that's... that's still my son, Dad. Your grandson…"
Selena looked at Hans and smiled. Then Danny's body stopped glowing as he fell into Paul's arms. Danny woke up and he looked up at the older Dalmatian. "Daddy?" he asked hugging Paul.
"Oh, Danny. Oh, my Danny-boy..." Paul hugged Danny in return, wagging his tail as Gerald moved to embrace them both. "I thought I lost you, son…"
"I thought I lost you and Uncle Gerald too," whimpered Danny softly. Hans came up to his sons. "Can you ever forgive me?" he said.
Gerald looked to Paul. The Dalmatian bit his lip, but finally nodded. "I think so. Dad..." He looked into his dad's eyes. "You loved her. And I know well enough how missing love can twist you..." He looked down to the floor, and felt Danny stroke his cheek as Gerald stroked his back.
Hans sighed. "I just wish there was a way for me to have a second chance with you boys," he said as the light grew brighter and Hans' wispy body suddenly grew solid and from behind them, the real Selena appeared. "Another gift from when the curse was lifted," she said, "Another chance of life. That means we get to be alive again."
"Mom... Dad..." Gerald and Paul smiled, and helped Danny to his feet. Then all five canines moved into a tight and loving group hug with one another. "Mmm..." Paul blushed, looking between Hans and Selena. "We... have a lot to talk about…"
"Indeed we do," said Hans looking to his wife when all of a sudden... "WAIT! Wait for us! Hold on!" called Emma as she had a shaw around her shoulders and bags in her hands.
"Come on, come on, hurry! What do you need those bags for, you know you can't take them!" Ezra was standing near the shaft of light, waving for Emma to hurry up.
The cat and pug said good bye to everyone and off they went up to the light and soon, every ghost in the cemetery was going up to the light as well.
