Protect them from your strength (dragon poem)
Imported from SF2 with no description provided.
From a hole in a mountain
he observes the small bipeds,
guarding them from himself.
A solitary creature,
as expected from a dragon,
once he was, until she
got into his own cave,
neither scared nor a thief,
but just a curious girl
who just looked for a friend,
and that hand on his snout
showed him what friendship is.
And they shared many adventures,
and they shared many laughs,
until that tragic day.
He dares not think of that,
but that day he discovered
the bitter awful truth:
he is too big for humans,
he is too strong for love,
he's made to be alone.
Yet he can't bring himself
to forget what love is;
so he veils on the village,
and if a human comes
all the way to his cave
then he'll roar and spit fire,
until the human leaves
scared for life but unharmed;
that's how he shows his love
for those small fragile bipeds,
who cannot and must not
know what's behind those roars.
