The Mountain Fortress was resident majoritively to those of sixth class or higher, a few exceptions existed of course, Calamity and Inferno as example, but they were rare and needed affiliation with a higher class much like my own underlings.

The Kobolds who served within the Fortress were the other technical exception, though they were considered more a part of the furniture rather than individuals, a servant race of short scaly bipeds with tiny horns and dexterous hands who hatched with unbound dedication and obedience to the higher race of dragons. There was a fraction of dragons who claimed that the kobolds should be liberated, considered to be radicals due to some of their extreme methods of trying to prove their point but I didn't care to concern myself with those politics, much like the arguments of class discrimination and bloodline supremacy, it's all foolish squabbling for who gets to perch on top, within this cage of a Fortress.

At the very bottom of the Fortress within a massive natural void within the mountain itself laid the food court, the three of us arriving after the morning feed meant that aside the hurrying kobolds dashing about cleaning the scraps and stone tables, we were the only other occupants within the hall. Of course despite being late, the kobolds were more than eager to serve us a late meal. It wasn't long before we each had a well seasoned lamb set before us and just as quickly we dug into our meals.

As I ate I couldn't help but glance over to the others, Inferno was taking her delicate time, picking apart the meat and savouring every bite, being such a lower class she'd likely not experienced such well seasoned and tender meat. Meanwhile Calamity carelessly gobbled his way through the lamb, one thing I had never appreciated about him was his eating habits, like a gluttonous behemoth he'd likely attempt swallowing his food whole if he could unhinge his jaw. Once we'd finished our food I declared I was going to clean myself at the Gentle Lake, instructing the other two to prepare for our journey ahead and that I would meet them at the Gateway.

“I would happily lick you clean my Dominion" Calamity whispers with hope and wistfulness. I sigh. Of course he would, anything to fulfil his compulsive courting fantasies with me.

“No thanks" I reply simply, turning to leave.

“I could help lick you clean too my Tyrant" Inferno retorted. Her comment halters my step as I glance back at her smiling face, ready to oblige me and even giving a slight lick of her lips.

They both desired to lick me clean? I turn again to hide the blush as the thought takes my imagination by the reins, despite this the hesitation gives away my consideration and they both know it.

“No. I will use the lake, who knows when I will get the chance to again" I reply as my legs finally start to move again, allowing me to leave, giggles shared between the two echoing behind me. Such imbeciles, now was not the time and place for such antics. About to leave the subterranean lair for a quick flight to the nearby lake I decide to make a quick detour to the Archives, residing within another large cavern chamber, intending to inquire about the existence and purposes of the Life Relic.

The walls of the large space had been carved into, rows of shelves and racks filled with ancient tombs, scrolls, books, stone tablets from realms all over. Any knowledge found during realm extractions and was deemed useful or important to the Dragon Realm was stored here. I spent most of my spare time here, finding escape within the words within the tomes, myths, legends and teachings from a vast amount of realms. Different cultures, kobold civilisations, creatures, plant life, wars, ores anything that could expand my curiosity over the vast Divine Realms.

Evad was keeper of the tombs, a kobold with a little more intelligence, having read the majority of the Fortress' collection in order to aide any dragons asking for information, he'd learned more than most kobolds within the Fortress. After my inquiry and some thought he declared there was no mention of the Life Relic recorded within any of the material kept in the vast archive.

Awfully convenient, I suppose my Sire is only privileged to this information? I thank the kobold for his time and make haste to the Gentle Lake that lapped at the foot of the Mountain.

After a good soak I go about my cleaning regimes, it doesn't take me too long before I'm finished and feeling refreshed and clean. I exit the lake and give a slight shake to remove the excess water as it trails down my extremities. Continuing to stand and allow myself to air dry, I consider my thoughts for my two underlings.

_Calamity was certainly not thinking about the extraction, most likely the many opportunities he could exploit to try and get me to breed with him, especially since we would be so far out of the sight of my Sire and anyone who would report to him. I bet he'll try to take lead, shake his ass in my face all the more, likely try sliding himself between my legs as we lay to rest..._I shake my head to clear my mind as it begins to trail into my imaginings.

Perhaps he might behave around Inferno. Although she too was eager to lick me earlier, does she desire to breed with me too? She's certainly attractive. Wait am I misreading her intentions? Is this a ploy to distract me, to deceive me. No surly she is loyal, she is a descendant from the Fury Bloodline after all. Young and pretty, maybe I could breed them both...wait STOP! I growl and snap my eyes open to stop my all to eager to wander thoughts, locking my inner desires away, suppressing them. I need to focus on the extraction, nothing else should matter.

Although... this could be the perfect opportunity to have my way with Calamity...Enough already, FOCUS!

Growling again at myself in annoyance for allowing such temptation to enter my mind, I stretch out my wings and with a single sweep, launch myself up into the gloomy grey sky. Circling up alongside the Mountain Fortress to reach the Gateway plateau on the opposite side to the lake, accessible just below the no fly zone. Upon a grassy outcropping of the mountain with a spectacular view of the Great Valley below. A path of gravel led to a standing structure comprising most eye catching of a circular golden ring. Devices of leavers, switches and gauges supported and connected either side of the Gateway base.

Two brown kobolds stationed either side to operate them. The kobold race had proven to be fantastic mechanics, with their dexterous small hands and penchant for testing with little concern of their own well being, they'd made a fair few mechanical advancements for the dragons and thus made their lives all the easier, perhaps even a little to cosy for some dragons as some had become almost entirely dependant on their engineering. I glide in to land on the path and notice Inferno and Calamity were preparedly sat in front of the ring already, giggling away to themselves and quickly trying to stifle their laughter as they saw me approach. Most likely mocking me still, sheesh.

Lesser class dragons, like Inferno and Calamity rarely had spikes or frills run down their back and tails. This allowed for attachments made by kobolds to be placed upon them. Inferno had a machete like blade attached to the end of her tail tip, a useful tool for the Nature Realm. Calamity had two barrels of water attached to his back. How clever of him, perhaps he is smarter than I gave him credit for.

One of the brown kobolds ran up beside me as I trotted up to the gate upon landing, holding the navigation attachment. I nodded as I came to a halt and lifted my foreleg, holding it out to allow the servant to attach the device. It was essentially a pouch with a window that contained an inset compass, a slot for the directions map to be slid into directing the path between the gates exit and the temple. Finally, tucked away in the bottom pocket of the pouch was a blue and black warp stone, in the shape of a diamond. When broken in the vicinity of the gates exit point or the point of return as it was called, the portal home would appear. Sadly not all realms had a Gateway, unless a dragon colony had been established in the realm itself. Satisfied with the straps comfortable tugged tight, I nod to the kobold who returns to the Gateway device while I approach my giggling companions who seem to have given up in their attempts of ceasing their laughter.

“So, you pair seem to be getting along rather nicely, mind if I ask what's so amusing?" I ask as Inferno continues sniggering with no intention of answering. Calamity catches his breath before answering.

“We were talking about your hatchling days, my Dominion, and how we know each other so well." Great, that is all I needed, a trip down memory lane. I supposes Calamity had told her everything about me. This extraction was going to be infuriating. I sigh shaking my head.

“Let's get on with this shall we" I signalled both kobolds to activate the Gateway, they began to pull levers and press buttons and within a moment the golden ring began to spin rapidly on the spot. Shrinking in on itself as it picks up speed before a burst of energy opened outwards into green oval tear, the ring now seemingly gone from sight as the portal maintained the rip in reality. The sight of greenery through the veil was distorted, plant life could barely be recognised. I glance at the other two with a confident smile, they both nod at me to state they were ready to follow me. “For our Dragonkin" I proclaim as we all step forwards and proceed through the portal.
