Walking through the forest of a new region was always an interesting experience. Orange and yellow leaves rained around us as our group of intrepid explorers strode through the autumn leaves surveying different areas. Pokemon I had never seen before watched us from behind trees and from the canopy. Occasionally I would raise my camera and snap a quick picture of the pokemon and my surroundings

"This area looks decent, could we start a survey here?" I asked, looking at my companions.

"We can look but we need to ask Jack if he thinks this area will do" William responded, looking over his shoulder to look at his younger brother. Without breaking stride or even stopping Jack just trudged past us with a simple "Nah".

"What? Why?" I asked, only to be ignored. I looked to his older brother who just shrugged and followed. William's pokemon, an anthro Garchomp named Kara, obediently followed him, all while carrying a large rucksack.

I looked down to my own pokemon, Eva, an eevee who looked happy just to be in the falling leaves. I sighed and followed them , annoyed I had been roped into this expedition. After all, I was one of the heirs to the Darwin Family, the family most known for having cornered the market on eevee breeding. All of my brothers, sisters and cousins had eeveelutions while I still had an eevee. Although since I had come here, I now had the "favored" eeveelution; that being an anthro evolution.

Now I was with a gym leader from a different region who had moved here and his brother to scope out a safari zone for the new Albion region. My family sent me because they wanted to make sure we could have some of our "less desirable" eevees in the zone to hopefully evolve and get adopted / caught by a trainer.

"What's wrong with this area?" I repeated, jogging slightly to catch up with Jack, who looked at me with dark circles under his eyes. If I hadn't known he and William were brothers I never would have guessed it. William was tall, muscular, had blond hair and was like someone had come up with the perfect gym leader. Jack was also tall, maybe taller than his brother, but seemed like he was always slouched, had jet black hair and dark circles under his eyes. His own pokemon was even an anthro Banette.

"Come on I need to know" I badgered him, as his Banette sat on his shoulders. He stopped, looked at me then gave a long annoyed sigh, his breath coming out as a small cloud in the cool air.

"Hear that?" he asked finally, not looking at me and instead shooing away his Banettes hand that was attempting to shove half a sweet roll into his mouth. I stopped and listened, only hearing the occasional cry of wild pokemon and the faint sound of crashing waves.

"What am I listening for?"

Jack just sighed again and took a bite from the sweet roll.

"No running water here" he answered, still chewing, a hand covering his mouth.

"What"

"A safari zone needs different types of terrain all near each other" He said, talking like he was speaking to an exceptionally dense child. "To have the biggest client base we need to have a wide group of pokemon types, Here we have mountains, ocean, forest, and a meadow, but we need running water to make it work best"

His brother nodded, looking around as his Garchomp nuzzled against him.

"What about standing water?" Willaim asked, rubbing his pokemon under its chin.

Jack shrugged dismissively, turned away from us to start walking again.

"Man made ponds are easy to make and stock, rivers are harder to make" he said over his shoulder,

I stared after him for a moment before turning to his brother with a questioning look.

"What's with him?" I asked, annoyed.

"Don’t let him bother you" WIlliam answered "He worked at a safari zone for 10 years and just knows the business"

"Does he have to be so... I dunno dickish?"

William stared after his brother for a moment then shrugged.

"He’s always been a little aloof, he didn’t even get his first pokemon until recently"

I watched as Jack grabbed the Banette off his shoulders and began flipping her upside down then right side up over and over again, while she just laughed and laughed. For some reason William looked proud of his brother as he watched the two of them.

"Come on, we'll find a spot and make one of the best safari zones in the world" William said, clapping me hard on the back, making me stumble. Goddam he was strong.

Eva bounced along happily, her big brown eyes taking in all of the scenery while she held my hand tight. I thought this area was beautiful and I guess Eva did too.

"Do you like it here Eva?" I asked the 4 foot nothing pokemon.

She smiled up at me with a wide smile while she wiggled her footpaws in the fallen leaves.

"It's really nice here! I want to see all the other pokemon here too" She answered, pointing to some kind of bug pokemon that was watching us wearily.

"Maybe we can set up a family branch around here and visit from time to time" I said with a nod.

Eva nodded again, hugging my arm as we walked. As I looked at her I had an idea for a business that I would go to the rest of my family about. If we could get a head start we could corner the market on pokemon clothes. Eva was wearing a white T-shirt that said "EV!" in bold red letters and just some childrens shorts with a hole cut in the back of them for her tail, her Lucky rock was tied to her side so she wouldn’t lose it. William’s garchomp had what could loosely be called a toga, which appeared to really only be a sheet while Jack's Banette wore an apron and what looked like panties.

I picked Eva up and jogged a bit, catching up to Jack and WIlliam. She just giggled and kept looking around, her large ears twitching as she listened to the wild forest around us.

"Should we stop for the night guys? We shouldn't set up camp in the dark" I asked, looking at the setting sun. I raised my camera and took a picture of the sun floating above the horizon, then showed it to Eva who made a happy “ooooohhhhh”

William stopped, pulling out a pokegear and tapping it a few times while his Garchomp looked over his shoulder.

"Yea probably. What do you think Jack?"

Jack pulled out his own pokegear, groaned and then nodded.

"That settles it then, Kara, can you get some firewood for us while I set up our tent?" William asked his Garchomp, who nodded and stomped off into the woods.

"Yurai, take this radio and signal where we are" Jack instructed his pokemon, handing her a blocky looking device.

"What's that?" I asked, dropping my pack and watching Yurai float upwards towards the tree canopy.

"Satellite phone, letting people know where we are in case of emergency" William answered as he dug through his rucksack.

I blinked at him in confusion as Eva began digging through my pack.

"Can't we just use our pokegear for that?"

Jack scoffed as he began setting up a small shabby looking tent. William answered as he pulled out what looked like a larger and better kept tent from his bag.

"Grey, we're in the middle of an uncharted region, where are we gonna get a signal?"

I blinked in confusion a few times then pulled out my pokegear and found that I in fact did not have a signal to call the rest of the world.

"Maybe have your Eevee help get the site ready while you set up your tent" Jack suggested, holding out his arms as Yurai slowly drifted down from the forest canopy. She landed delicately in his arm, giggled, then gave him a soft kiss on his cheek. I stared at the obvious display of affection for a moment until Eva tugged my shirt.

"What should I do uh...Boss?" she asked, confusion in her voice as she watched Jack with Yurai.

"Maybe she can clear some of these leaves so we can have a fire pit?" WIlliam suggested, pointing to a spot on the forest floor.

Eva looked at her hands and then at me, curiosity and confusion on her face.

"How do I do that without my paws?" She asked, holding up her hands to show me.

William stopped what he was doing for a moment to look at Eva, then slapped his forehead.

"Oh right…You just anthro evolved" he said to himself mostly before grabbing a pokeball from his belt. "Go Bruno"

He tossed down the pokeball and a large Flygon appeared in a flash of red light.

"Clear a spot for a fire Bruno" He instructed.

His Flygon nodded with a sharp "Fly!" then began flapping its wings hard to move leaves while shaping the dirt into a hard compact floor.

"Best set up your tent, those are a bitch to set up in the dark" Jack called, as he set up his own tent on top of the leaves, seemingly unconcerned with them as Yurai passed him stakes to nail it down. I took a closer look at them, I saw that they were more like giant push pins over stakes. William had had his Flygon clear an area of leaves and was currently setting up his own tent. Eva pulled out my very, VERY brand new and very unopened tent, pointing to a picture on the packaging.

"Found our tent" She said cheerily, tearing open the packaging.

While it took Jack and WIlliam about 30 minutes to set up their own tents, it took me the better part of an hour and a half. I had to stop every few moments to double check the instructions. It was somewhat humiliating because Jack and William just watched while preparing the rest of our campsite. They had even constructed what looked like it would be a large fire. Eva helped where she could, but she was unused to having hands and being an anthro,

When I finally got my tent set up, the sun was already below the horizon and darkness was growing. William and Kara, his garchomp, sat on a log she had dragged over while Jack just sat on the ground, both watching and waiting for me to finish.

"You could have helped me" I said, not bothering to hide my annoyance. I looked over to see WIlliam had a large tent, probably made for 5 or 6 people while Jack's tent somehow looked...gloomy and made for 2 people.

"If we help, you don't learn" William said, fishing around in his pack. He smiled when he pulled out a plastic bag with the letters "MRE" On it. Jack had done the same and had dumped the contents onto a flat rock he had dragged over while Yurai floated above him, looking at the contents of the bag with giddy amusement. William had done the same, although it looked like he was using a log split in half to make a flat surface.

"What are those?" I asked as I grabbed my own food out of my pack. I wasn't sure what was in it since my family's servants had packed it for me.

"MREs" Jack answered without further elaboration. WIlliam sighed at his brother and passed me the packaging.

"Meals ready to eat, compact and perfect for roughing it" He said. "Kara, can you use fire blast to light the fire?"

"No she can't muscle for brain, she'll start a forest fire" Jack groaned while Kara looked offended.

"Yurai, use will-o-wisp"

Yurai nodded and floated towards the fire, a small blue flame glowing between her hands; she pushed it into the constructed firepit and a small blaze began eating the logs.

"I didn’t know Yurai knew Will-o-wisp" William said, looking offended

"You didn't ask" Jack shot back as he read the names of each food in the firelight. "I got that Jalapeno cheese you love, what you got to trade?"

William began shuffling through his own food packets like they were trading cards.

"I got coffee" he answered, holding up the package. Jack nodded and they tossed the packets to each other. Yurai and Kara had their own MREs and were digging through them, although Kara had help from WIlliam.

"Boss? Do we have MREs, I'm hungry" Eva asked, poking my side. I jumped slightly and guiltily pulled out a carefully created box of food. It looked like it was food from one of my favorite places, but vacuum sealed and fresh. I also found Eva's food, which looked more like kibble than food.

"Do...Do you guys feed your pokemon special anthro pokemon food?" I asked nervously.

WIlliam gave me a confused look while Jack just stared at me while eating out of a food packet with a very neutral face.

"Wi-William share food with me" Kara said shakily, her sharp teeth making her voice somewhat raspy.

"Master shares his food with me" Came Yurai's voice from right beside me, making me jump. I looked over to see Yurai floating and pressing her boobs on Eva's head, smooshing her ears down. Eva just looked confused as Yurai held up some of the food I had brought.

"Looky master, fancy food" She said, holding up one of my prepared meals.

"H-hey! that's mine" i said only for Yurai to float upwards out of my reach

"L-la Madeleine? whats this" She said, turning the packaging over in her long sleeve hands

"It's a Croque Monsieur"

"A what?"

"It's Kalosian Cuisine!" I said, jumping to my feet and trying to grab the meal from Yurai, who just giggled and floated just out of my reach. "Jack! Get your pokemon under control!"

"She's not my pokemon" He responded blandly.

I stopped trying to catch Yurai to look at him.

"She calls you master?"

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, messing it up further, the firelight hitting his eyes to make him look gaunt.

"Yes technically she is MY pokemon, she put herself in one of my pokeballs, but I don't OWN her. I'm not a trainer like my brother and Yurai is no battle hardened pokemon that listened to everything I say like Kara did"

"No offense Kara" He said calmly as Kara bared her teeth at him.

"You DID listen to him all the time before so don't go getting mad at me about it now"

He pointed to Yurai, who looked like she was lounging in midair, reading the container for my croque monsieur.

"Yurai is my partner, friend and much more. Is Eva your pokemon? Can you order her into battle as she is now?" He asked.

I looked at Eva, who was watching me with confusion in her eyes. She was never bred for battle, more to be a companion pokemon. I COULD order her to do something and I'm sure she would do it, but would it be right?"

"Well, how do I get my food from her?" I finally asked, focusing on Jack.

He just sighed at me. with a very unhelpful shrug.

"Have you tried asking her for it?" he finally said, before shoveling another bite of food into his mouth with a fork.

I blinked and looked up at Yurai.

"Y-yurai? May I please have my food back"

Her pink glowing eyes were highlighted in the dark sky above us as she stared down at me without blinking. I was starting to doubt myself when she shrugged and floated down, depositing the food into my hands. Silently, she glided over to Jack to sit next to him, but instead he guided her to his lap. She smiled her creepy zipper smile at him and he held up a forkful of what looked like chili to her, which she ate happily. I noticed William and Kara doing the same, although Kara was just scooted close to William as he fed her and himself.

I watched for a moment then looked at Eva, who was watching them with curiosity. The fire reflected in her eyes as it danced about and I found myself not thinking of Eva as a Pokemon but more like Jack had said, as a partner and a companion.

"E-eva? Would you like some of my food? "I asked hesitantly. She had started picking at what used to be her old food, the same food I had fed her for years and the same food she had eaten earlier today before she anthro evolved.

She looked at me with relief in her eyes.

"Y-yes please boss, This isn’t good anymore"

She tossed aside some of the pokemon food for emphasis. I grabbed the kalosian food from my pack and opened it, splitting the meal in half to share with her. She took the sandwich half and bit into her, her eyes lighting up as she chewed.

"S-sho good!" She said excitedly, taking another bite before even swallowing the first one.

"Hey Eva, just a FYI, try not to talk when you’re chewing, it can be considered impolite" William informed her as he held out a forkful of something that looked vaguely like spaghetti to Kara, who carefully ate the offered food.

"Not a big deal, you just evolved and didn't know. You're going to learn a lot in the upcoming weeks"

I noticed both Jack and William seemed totally at ease out in the wilds even though one was a gym leader and the other was a safari zone worker. I didn't want to pry, but I was curious about my potential business partners.

"Thank you for instructing Eva, may I ask how you both are good at this"

Jack eyed me with a sigh while Yurai giggled, rocking side to side in his lap. WIlliam just looked mildly amused as Kara took the now empty food packet from him in her claw fins to stick her tongue into it to get the leftover bits of sauce.

"Our parents would dump us in the woods when we were younger, to get us ready for life as a trainer and to make us catch a pokemon" William finally answered, grabbing and holding the food packet for his pokemon.

"I always hated when they did that" Jack groaned, throwing a bit of debris into the fire.

"Yea well you just wanted to stay home and sleep" William chided; Jack just shrugged.

"I liked sleeping in and NOT having to worry about my next meal" he retorted "You were always the trainer prodigy anyways"

This time William sighed.

"Yea, I guess; But now you have a pokemon! You spent years not catching one then appear with a shiny one like it’s nothing! Dad would be proud"

Jack looked almost insulted at those words but just shrugged.

"I didn’t catch her, I found her lodged in a storm drain and she put herself in that black pokeball you sent me"

I blinked, annoyed and amused how they went totally off topic from my question.

"Put herself in a pokeball? Shiny? What do you mean" I asked, re-inserting myself into the conversation.

"Yurai is technically a shiny pokemon, normal Banettes are black and see how she's more blue" Jack answered as he held Yurai, who just giggled and nuzzled him. "And yea she caught herself because she didn't want me to throw her away"

Eva Looked scandalized at those words.

"T-thrown away? you've abandoned pokemon before?!" she asked in horror, scooting closer to me like Jack would walk over and throw her away from me.

"Technically Banettes are thrown away childrens toys" Willliam interjected calmly, defending his brother. "Jack never had a pokemon before Yurai"

Jack just sighed and out a hand on Yurais head fondly.

"And what about you Grey? You could have almost any pokemon and you just have an unevolved Eevee?" WIlliam said, eyeing Eva and I.

"All my family has had Eevee's, Eva just never evolved, no idea why"

"Maybe that everstone she has?" Jack said, half paying attention as he messed with Yurai’s little tail.

I didn't even know Banettes had tails.

"Everstone?" I asked only for Jack to point to Eva's lucky rock.

"That's just a rock I found and liked" Eva defended, covering the stone tied to her thigh with both hands like they would steal it.

"I used to find those things all the time at the safari zone, that's an everstone"

"Nu uh!" Eva said, sticking her tongue out at Jack, Who just sighed and looked at his brother.

"It might be" He said simply.

"I can test this!!" Yurai exclaimed happily before she (to my horror) reached into her own mouth and pulled out something glittery. Jack caught her arm as she wound it back to throw whatever was in her hand at Eva, who got behind me.

"I was wondering where this went" He grumbled, holding the gleaming orange stone up after he wrestled it from Yurai.

"A firestone? Why does Yurai have a firestone" William asked, extending a hand to his brother, Jack shrugged and tossed it to him.

"it's the one you sent me, I dunno why Yurai has it" HE answered before gently jostling Yurai.

"I thought it was rock candy! it didn't taste very good though" She said happily. Jack sighed and zipped her mouth shut. She made an almost giggling "mph mph mph" sound as William tossed the stone up and down a few times.

"Firestone? What would that do"?" Eve asked, still partially hiding behind me.

"it would make you evolve into a Flareon if that wasn't an everstone" WIlliam said, tossing the stone back to Jack, who caught it before Yurai could get it. He held it away from her in a demented game of keep away until she wrapped her entire body around his face. It was only then that she was able to get the stone back. In a deft move she unzipped her mouth and swallowed the stone whole. I could only stare at the weird spectacle.

"But Boss, I don't want to be a Flareon, I want to be an eevee" She whimpered, clinging to me.

"It’s not like we were going to let that happen" William said, eyeing Yurai, who gave him a fake innocent smile as she clung to Jack's face. Eventually he pried her off and held her at arms length by her waist.

"What else do you have in that black hole you call a stomach?" he groaned, shaking her up and down slightly like she was a present.

"Reach in and see"

"ugh, no thanks, you'll make it weird" He groaned, dropping her. She didn't fall, instead she just floated around him while trying to make him reach into her mouth. William let out a chuckle and Kara chuffed in amusement.

"Don't encourage her" He sighed, looking defeated.

Eva clung to me still, eyeing the unfolding scene with some amusement. Eventually Jack Grabbed Yurai, and sat her in his lap again; bribing her to stay put with a chocolate bar of some kind.

"C-can pokemon have chocolate?"Eva asked tentatively.

William looked at Kara, who shrugged. Jack ignored the question altogether while Yurai used her zipper teeth to break off tiny bits of the sweet.

"I don't know if you can Eva, but what's it gonna do to me? Kill me?" Yurai said as she "chewed" a bit of the bar.

"We'll have to check with the professor, although he'll probably ask if he can watch us" Willaim groaned,only to get an elbow to the ribs from Kara, who motioned to me.

"Watch you what?" I asked,confused.

"Watch us get frea-" Yurai started, only for Jack to zip her mouth shut.

"Watch what?” Eva echoed, looking from Kara to Yurai, who was struggling to unzip her mouth as Jack held it shut.

"Look, you know that old myth of the man and the Octillery?"

I scoured my memory, trying to recall it.

"Where they have a child and the child kills a bunch of pokemon?"

WIlliam nods slowly, choosing his words very carefully.

"The professor thinks it MAY be based in truth and is trying to see if anthro pokemon and humans can..." He said, rolling his hand towards me to finish the thought. Eva stared up at me, curiosity and confusion on her face as I pieced what he was implying together.

"He wants to see if....If humans and pokemon can...do it?"

Yurai managed to unzip her mouth as she struggled to get free from Jack's grasp.

"Humans and pokemon can definitely do i-" She managed before Jack zipped her mouth shut again.

"He wants to see if human and anthro pokemon can have children" William said carefully, eyeing both me and Eva.

Eva's ears twitched as I digested that information.

"And the professor wants to..watch people...make a child with a pokemon?" I slowly asked.

They all nodded.

"Everytime he sees us or ANY person with an anthro pokemon he asks if he can watch them make an egg" Jack groaned, as Yurai unzipped her mouth again.

"Last time Master let me put a curse him!" She said cheerily, pulling a large push pin out of...somewhere.

"you actually let her curse him?" William asked, incredulously while Kara chuffed again.

"He KEPT asking! then he had a life size model egg and kept trying to hold it against Yurai to see how it would fit" Jack defended.

"It fits like this!" Yurai said cheerily, reaching into her mouth once more. Eventually she pulled out a wooden egg and threw it to me. I bobbled it a bit, mildly distressed at how warm it was.

"You stole his egg too?" WIlliam asked.

"Why would I steal a wooden egg Will?"

"He dropped it when I cursed him to trip once every hour! THEN I stole it!" Yurai said happily ploping herself in Jack's lap.

Eva took the wooden egg, stared at it for a moment, then lifted her shirt to put it against her stomach.

"It would fit in me boss!" She said cheerily, pointing to the egg against her abdomen.

Yurai and Kara both laughed while William and Jack stifled theirs. I gingerly took the egg from her and set it aside.

"Y-yes it would" I said awkwardly, holding the egg while Yurai giggled at my expense.

"So uh, how does Yurai's stomach work? Is she like a bag of holding?" I asked, trying to steer the conversation away from the egg, which I tossed aside.To my annoyance Jack just shrugged.

"Dunno" he said, poking Yurai in the side gently, making her giggle.

"What" I asked, incredulous. He sighed and gave me a half hearted glare.

"She's a ghost I found clogging a storm drain who turned into a living doll who THEN turned into a woman-shaped toy. You have a Eevee with you had earlier today was a small dog thing and William has a talking land shark" He said exasperated

"Its pokemon, I ain't gotta explain shit"

Kara laughed her raspy laugh while Yurai began poking Jack in the face softly.

"Aww aren't you too old to play with dolls?" Yurai teased as she floated up into his face. He grabbed her, shoved her under his arm, and began slapping her butt softly.

"I'll show you playing" he grumbled while Yurai flailed around and play screamed "He's beating me! help police"

Eva laughed at their antics, scooting closer to me. Almost instinctively I put my arm around her, watching as Yurai freed herself and then floated up to rest on Jack's shoulders. She pointed to his rucksack, whispering something to him I couldn't hear. Eva’s ears twitched, rotating a bit towards them. Jack dug into his packs pocket and pulled out his pokegear, looking at it for a moment and mumbling something to his pokemon.

"Time for me to turn in" he said finally after conferring with Yurai. William yawned, putting an arm around Kara, who leaned into his touch.

"We might as well too, Kara, can you put out the fire?"

I was expecting some fancy pokemon move like a sand tomb or Kara to use a move like water gun, Instead, she just kicked a bunch of dirt onto the fire, smothering it. Darkness filled the area for a moment with the only thing I could see was Yurai's glowing eyes before they disappeared into Jack's tent.

"He always could see better in the dark" I heard William mumble as a flashlight illuminated. I watched as He and Kara entered their own grand tent, zipping the door shut behind them.

"Boss? Should we go to bed too?" Eva asked, turning on a flashlight she had pulled out of her own pack.

I nodded, turning my back to the other tents to get into my own. I frowned at the interior of the tent, slightly annoyed at its size. I couldn't stand up straight and had barely enough room for Eva And I. I grabbed my sleeping bag, which was still in its packaging, unrolled it and put it where I thought it would be the most comfortable.

Eva watched me, her ears swiveling around as the sound of the forest reasserting itself with pokemon cries and the wind blowing by. I stripped down and climbed into my sleeping bag, finding it somewhat comfortable, but nowhere near as comfortable as my bed.

"Goodnight Eva,Let's have a good day tomorrow" I mumbled, killing my light and closing my eyes.

"Goodnight boss" I heard as I felt her circle slightly and lie down. I hoped tomorrow would be a more productive day as sleep slowly overcame me.

Sunlight breached my tents screen "windows", rousing me from a fitful sleep. I sat up, finding Eva tapping at my camera, her eyes scanning whatever was on the screen. There were voices outside the tent as I blinked hard.

"What are you looking at Eva?" I asked groggily, rubbing sleep out of my eyes.

She jumped slightly, sliding my camera into her own pack.

"N-nothing boss! I was just looking at pictures, "she said hastily. I just groaned,stretching and trying to work the kinks out of my back. Turns out I had put my tent over a pointy rock which had dug into my back while I slept.

"Ok then, what's going on?" I asked, only for Eva's ears to droop slightly.

"It's uh...better if you see" She said, avoiding my gaze. I felt some dread as I peered out of my tent to find food packages scattered everywhere.

"Oh what the fuck" I grumbled, assuming Yurai had gone though my stuff in the night. I quickly got dressed and stepped out of my tent feeling my anger starting to rise.

To my surprise I found Yurai, Jack, William and Kara all picking up the remains of my food containers. Jack had a larger than normal jug of something that he was drinking from while picking up torn up plastic. Yurai was floating around with a trash bag that everyone else was tossing trash into.

"W-what happened?"

Jack just looked at me and sighed before taking a long pull from what I assumed was his coffee.

"Can I have a sip Master?" Yurai asked, floating next to him.

To my surprise he passed her the cup before bending down to grab a large piece of plastic. Yurai sipped loudly as he tossed it in the bag.

"YOU left your pack outside of your tent and wild pokemon got into it" William answered me, annoyed in his voice.

Panic filled me as I looked around, seeing the scattered remains of all of my food all around us. my pack, once brimming with foods from my favorite place, now had none left, although my clothing was in a pile next to it..

"Will" Jack said calmly, motioning to my tent with his head.

William at his brother, then to my tent as Eva stepped out of it, her tail wagging behind her.

"Grey...Why is Eva wearing the same thing as yesterday? And where did she sleep?" Will asked, barely contained anger in his voice.

"Oh uh....she only needs that one outfit right? and she slept at the foot of my sleeping bag I think" I said, looking at Eva, who nodded to me.

"She WHAT?" WIllaim yelled, dropping the bit of plastic he was holding.

I took a step back as William advanced towards me, but Jack intercepted his brother, mumbling something to him and shaking his head. I watched as WIlliam gave me a scowl, then trudged away, picking up bits of plastic as he walked.

"Yurai" Jack called softly, the circles under his eyes somehow looking more pronounced.

"Yes master?

He passed her his coffee jug, with a sigh.

"Go see if any of your clothes fit Eva...I gotta talk to Grey"

Yurai nodded, her usual grin gone and replaced with the only serious face I had seen on her.

"Come with me" He said with a sigh, walking into the forest without waiting for a response.

For a moment I thought about horror movies I had seen where the protagonist gets killed in the forest, but I still followed him. He led me a little bit away until we were at the base of a large redwood tree.

"You need to stop treating Eva like a pokemon" He said without preamble, his face totally neutral.

I stared at him, almost at a loss for words. Almost.

"She IS a pokemon"

He sighed, looking back towards our campsite like he regretted giving Yurai his coffee.

"Yes, technically she is still a pokemon But she's more than that now too"

I looked at him confused as he leaned against the tree.

"What do you mean?"

He ran his fingers through his hair, somehow making it less messy as he looked at me as though weighing his words.

"What do you know about this region?" He finally asked

"What do you mean?"

"What do you know about this region?" He repeated.

I thought about it for a moment as he watched me.

"Not much" I finally replied, earning a small nod.

"People used to marry anthro pokemon here and there are people pushing for that again" He said, making me rock back a bit.

"M-marry pokemon?" I stammered, looking over to a wild bug pokemon of some sort.

"Yea, Anthro pokemon are more like people now, albeit furry people.Eva is different now, she doesn't even like her old food anymore"

My mind raced back to the night before where Eva tossed what used to be her favorite food away.

"This isn't good anymore" came echoing in my mind.

"Oh"

"Mhm"

I looked back towards the campsite, hearing WIlliam and Kara chat while cleaning up what was by all respects MY mess.

"W-where does Yurai sleep? Does she have her own sleeping bag?"

Jack looked away, shuffling nervously before he answered.

"We share a sleeping bag"

I stared for a moment before he sighed.

"Look, you don't have to share a bed with Eva, but she needs a dedicated place to sleep, clothes and actual food now" He said before thinking a bit "And probably to learn how to read"

I nodded, thinking about all the anthro pokemon I had met, which wasn’t a huge amount but they had all been treated more like people than pokemon.

"I...I guess I just wasn't prepared for her to change" I said quietly.

"Yea, it happens, sometimes you learn more about a pokemon when they anthro evolve. Kara told William she doesn't like battling but loved getting his praise"

We stood awkwardly for a moment until Jack broke the silence.

"Look just...think about it, She's more now and if you treat her well, she'll take care of you" he said before striding past me back to the campsite.

I followed him after a moment, thinking about how Eva must have felt sleeping at my feet while I was warm in my sleeping bag. I know if that was me I would have been upset, so I endeavored to make it up to her. Even as I got back to the campsite, I kept quiet, helping clean up the trash scattered by the wild pokemon. Jack had retrieved his coffee and was drinking it slowly as he spoke to his brother.

"Master! I got her dressed as best I can" Yurai called from inside their tent. She emerged escorting Eva, who was now wearing a slightly too small t-shirt and shorts. Yurai had on a black oversized shirt with a belt around her waist.

Eva skipped over to me happily, pouncing onto me as her tail wagged.

"Boss! Look, Yurai let me wear some of her stuff! Do I look cute?" She asked, rubbing her face against me.

I awkwardly hugged her while giving a genuine smile.

"You look super cute, when we get home we'll go on a shopping spree" I promised, giving her a soft squeeze.

She smiled up at me, her large brown eyes reflecting the morning light that came through the treetops.

"Come on, let's eat something and get moving" William called.

I felt my heart sink as I looked from Eva to my empty pack.

"Catch rich boy"

I didn't have time to react before a brown plastic container smacked into me and flopped in between Eva and I. She giggled, taking the bag and looking at it for a moment while her ears drooped.

"Uh boss...what's this say?" she said, holding the bag up to me.

I took the MRE and read it out to her.

"beef ravioli?" I read aloud and asked at the same time. "Do you have enough food for me and Eva?"

"Always pack extra food" William said tersely, pointing to the pack Kara had been carrying. It was full of various MREs and what looked like folded sheets for her Togas.

"Oh uh...thank you" I said, sitting down and opening the MRE.

I ate slowly while sharing with EVA, and while it wasn't the best thing I had eaten, Eva seemed to love every bite of it. Jack and William traded back and forth with things while their own pokemon ate.

When we finished our meal, we started packing up our campsite while Jack had Yurai float upwards to look for a possible river or stream. I didn't quite know how to pack up my tent, so I had Eva hold the instructions for me while I read them on how to pack it up the right way. Jack and William were both long done when I finally got mine packed. WIlliam inspected my work while Jack listened to Yurai, who was animatedly telling him what she had seen from above the canopy.

"Yurai said this way is best" He said, pointing along a trail I hadn't noticed.

"How are there trails?" I asked, as I got my pack on my back. Eva took my hand as she looked around, her long ears flicking about at the various sounds.

"Game trails, pokemon usually make paths to the nearest water source" William said "When I was a normal trainer roughing it in the wilds I would follow these to find rare pokemon nests.

I pointed my camera towards the trail and took a picture, sharing the image with Eva, who let out an excited "Ooooo"

William and Kara led the way through the forest, stopping with Jack to confer and let Yurai float upwards to scout.

"W-why don't we just get a flying pokemon and ride that" I wheezed as we climbed a large hill.

"Where's the fun in that?" WIlliam said, a wide smile on his face.

"we're in a new region and get to be explorers, not many chances to do that" Jack followed up, a rare smile on his face as Yurai rode on his shoulders.

"Yea but this is tough" I protested, seeing their point but also annoyed.

"Maybe, but the reward will be worth it"

"I-I enjoy it Boss" Eva Murmured, tugging on my arm gently.

"Besides, look at that view"

WIlliam stood at the top of the hill, arms outstretched like he was basking in the glory of whatever he was seeing. Kara had stopped and had hugged William from behind While Jack leaned against a tree with Yurai.

I finally got to the top and saw what they were so enamoured with.

Below us was a valley surrounded by mountains with one side opening up to the ocean. I could see several rivers that started up in the mountains that flowed to the ocean where sea stacks jutted from the rocky coast.

"This would be perfect" Jack said, staring out at the landscape. "Most of this would be preserved for the wild pokemon"

I stared out, then brought my camera up, snapping pictures. Eva let go of my hand and stood in front of me, Her tail wagging furiously as she beheld what could only be called the beauty of nature.

"Boss, it's so different from home!, we never explored like this before!” She called out happily.

Yurai floated over to her, grabbed her hand and floated upwards a few feet, pulling Eva up to a sturdy branch so she could see better. I quickly snapped a picture of Eva standing on it, staring out at the mountains while Yurai floated beside her. Suddenly Yurai started descending.

"Master! Here I come" Yurai called out, dropping like a stone.

To my surprise, Jack moved faster than I had seen him move before, catching her out of the air as she giggled like a mad woman...mad pokemon? Whatever.

"Boss?" Eva called out.

I looked up to see her nervously shuffling her footpaws on the tree branch which, while only about 10 feet up, was still pretty high up.

I gave a halfhearted and concerned smile, putting my camera away and moving beneath her as she looked contrite.

"Come on Eva, I got you" I said.

"You sure boss?" SHe asked, her ears folded back and her tail hiding between her legs.

"I'm sure, i wouldn't let you get hurt" I answered calmly, holding my arms out.

She nodded, took a deep breath and stared down at me for a moment

"O-ok here I come!"

She jumped from the branch and into my outstretched arms. I managed to catch her, although I stumbled a bit from the sudden weight.

Eva cheered happily and nuzzled her face against mine, her tail wagging furiously. I hugged her close, pulling her to me as she laughed.

"I love doing this stuff with you Boss! No more stuffy mansions please" She said happily, nuzzling me.

I stopped for a moment to think about that. She and I had lived on the family estate our whole lives, granted we travelled with the family to places like Johto or Sinnoh, but it was always at a luxury resort or hotel.

"We'll do more of this," I promised.

"Soooo cute"

I looked up from Eva to see Kara, William, Jack and Yurai, who was on Jack's head, all staring at us. I was about to try to cut off any teasing, but Jack just nodded and turned away as Yurai started to prod him in the face.

"Why don't YOU ever promise more stuff like this?"

He sighed.

"We ARE doing this right now!" He retorted

I saw Kara give WIlliam a look only for him to back away from her.

"I am NOT picking you up" He said defensively.

"Hmpf! Weak" Kara grunted, smiling with her razor sharp teeth

"If weak means I can't pick up your big ass then yea" He reposited, wiping the smile from Kara's face.

"Mean!" She growled and hunched over as though in a runners position.

"Ah fuck" William said before turning an running down the hill.

Kara waited about 5 seconds, then took off after him like ...well like a shark after a seal. Jack watched them, then sighed as the sound of yelling could be heard from down below.

"Come on..lets get there before She kills him or something" Jack groaned, following after them, Yurai giggled at the whole thing.

“They are Fun" Eva said happily, still nestled in my arms. I just nodded and carried Eva down the trail.

We followed the yelling, finding WIlliams discarded pack on the game trail. Jack sighed, and passed it to Yurai, Who held it by the straps and floated along somewhat unsteadily as we continued. After a short distance we found Kara's discarded pack as well. To my surpriseJack sighed and hefted the extra large pack onto his back and continued walking. Albeit slowly and with heavier steps. We eventually found William in a tree with Kara circling below it like a cat that cornered its prey.

"Help me out here guys?" William called as Kara stalked beneath him

"Uh huh, and how do I do that?" Jack asked blandly, shrugging off Kara's pack.

I pulled out my camera and snapped a picture of the scene while Eva giggled to herself.

"Y-yurai! Bring me my pack" He called. motioning to Yurai to come to him.

Yurai gave a wide Mischievous smile, hefting the pack up and bit, but instead of floating up, she slowly began sinking earthward.

"Oooohhhh nooooo it's too heavy" She fake lamented, setting it on the ground. she did a exaggerated wipe across her forehead with an overly loud "Whew"

"E-eva?" He called in a last ditch effort.

"I-I would but I’m too small" She said, latching to my side.

"Come down WIlliam" Kara growled, scraping at the tree bark with her claws.

Jack set his own pack down and sat on it, watching the show while Yurai floated just out of William's grasp, taunting him. Eva ran to the base of the tree, helping Kara prowl as I took pictures of it all.

"Best just get it over with will" Jack sighed as he grabbed a water bottle from a side pocket and took a long drink.

"N-now Kara, I'll say sorry if you let me down" WIlliam bargained. Kara emulated scratching her chin for a moment then nodded.

"Let Kara catch" She growled with a sharp toothed smile.

William swallowed hard and then nodded.

“o-ok here I go"

He fell from the tree into Kara's arms, She in turn held him against her while nuzzling.

"William little baby" She teased all the while.

"yea yea, I'm sorry I called you big ass"

"Is ok" She said as she gave him a tough squeeze.

"Ugh get a room" Jack groaned, rolling his eyes. “Let's get moving, we can set up camp by the river and radio in the building crews"

Eva ran back over to me and did a running pounce into my arms. I caught her easily and looked at Jack questioningly.

"Building crews?"

"Ya, we're setting up a base camp, with your families funding and WIlliams influence, we can get started"

I nodded and snapped a picture of William, who was protesting weakly, in Kara's arms. The giant land shark was giving him awkward shark kisses, which looked more like her just bumping her mouth against him.

Jack turned from the scene, leading Yurai away from his brother while William tried to call out for help. I sighed and followed Jack through the tree until we came upon a decent sized river with a stony beach.

"Yurai, can you radio our location?" Jack asked, setting down his pack once more and pulling out the radio.

"Ok master!up up and awayyyyy!"

Yurai floated skyward, giggling to herself as though she just told the world's funniest joke. I watched her until she became a small dot in the sky

"Find a spot you like, we're gonna be here a while" William called while Kara downed an entire tree. I instinctively raised my camera and took a picture of the duo before his words sunk into my head.

"Stay here a while?aren't we just going back now that we've located an area?" I asked as Eva tugged on my shirt.

"that's the easy part! Next we are gonna oversee the construction" William said cheerfully as Kara split the downed tree into logs. WIlliam easily hefted one of the log and began preparing a sitting area.

"Find a spot you like and set your tent up. we won't have temporary shelters for a few weeks” Jack said as he started setting up near a willow tree on the river bank. Eva tugged harder on my shirt as I processed their words.

"Boss"

"But I wasn't told this"

"You were boss, your father said so" Eva said quietly, tugging harder on my shirt

I turned to Eva, seeing her looking at me with barely contained excitement. She was staring at the river while doing a little excited dance, the lucky rock bouncing as she hopped foot to foot. I was about to ask how she would know what my father said when i thought back to when he had told me about this...project. Eva had been there but I hadn't quite paid attention. I internally facepalmed but kept calm as I addressed EVa.

"Eva, why are you tugging on my shirt? What do you need?"

She looked up at me sheepishly, letting go of my shirt to point at the clear and gently flowing river.

"Can I swim? I haven't swum like this before!" SHe said, still bouncing in anticipation. I stared at her for a moment, at a loss for words.

"Yea Eva...You can play in the river..Why did you ask?"

"Because it's polite! I saw you ask Yurai to give your food back so I thought I should ask to swim"

I internally smacked myself again. Of course she would learn. I couldn't get out another word before Eva stripped down to nothing except her rock at her waist then with clumsy enthusiasm, lept into the water. I nearly panicked at her nakedness but realized no one else cared. My first instinct was to make sure she was covered, but it was also the first time I really got a chance to see her body.

I didn't want to stare, but as I started scouting out a location to set up my tent, I snuck quick peeks at her. The most noticeable feature of her body had to be her wide hips and extremely fluffy tail. To my surprise her breasts were completely covered by a thick layer of cream colored fluff that stood out against her light brown fur. She was standing in water up to her knees that she was kicking around while giggling.

"She's a pretty one" came a voice behind me, making me jump and pull my eyes away from my staring.

Yurai floated behind me, her tone playful and her pink eyes on Eva.

"Y-yea she is" I responded, busying myself with extracting my tent from my bag.

"Remember she isn’t your pokemon anymore! She's a full lady" Yurai said with a giggle. She floated away from me towards Jack, who looked up at her approach then shrugged at her. I watched as she pointed to the river and he just nodded at her.

Yurai giggled, kicked her feet as Jack grabbed the belt around her waist, tugged her to him into a small embrace which Yurai returned. She then floated to Kara, pointing to the river with obvious excitement. Kara looked to William, who nodded as he finished setting up his tent. Kara trudged to the water with Yurai on her shoulder and tested the water, shivering slightly as she dipped a toe into it.

"Come on, come on! It's fun" Eva called out, half submerged in the flowing water.

Kara shrugged, stripped out of her toga, stomped away, then took a running leap into the river, splashing Eva, who wiped water away from her eyes. Yurai floated centimeters above the water, her feet occasionally dipping into it.

"Yurai come on! Get in" Eva called, wading into one of the deeper parts while Kara swam underwater, her dorsal fin sticking up like from a bad horror movie.

"Can't get too wet" Yurai called back wistfully, staring at the river "I'm still a plushie"

Eva looked put out until kara came out under her.

"whoa whoa WHOA!" She cried cheerfully as Kara tossed her into the river with a raspy laugh.

I watched As the three of them played in the river together, taking out my camera before I thought better of it. No need to show off Eva, Kara and Yurai's bodies. Jack and WIlliam watched as well, Jack from a spot under the willow tree and William from a spot in the bank.

Eventually wild pokemon joined the trio, small flying pokemon perching on Yurai as she floated above the water while water and some plant type pokemon joined in, frolicking happily.

I set up my tent, occasionally stopping to watch them all play together, but I found my eyes drawn to Eva. She had a wide smile on her face and her big eyes glittered in merriment. Her wet fur clung to her, accentuating her body as she climbed onto Kara's back to grab vines that some wild pokemon had lowered. They had rope swings, trees to jump into the river from and even a floating island in the form of a wild snorlax that had apparently heard the commotion, then decided to fall asleep again.

"Pokemon always like to play; whether wild, with a trainer or Anthro" William said, staring fondly at Karra who tossed a wild bulbasaur.

"I love to see her play, but i'm not used to the whole "new body" thing"

"Eva is still Eva, this is just like any other evolution"

I nodded; after all I had heard a variation of this speech dozens of times. My cousins all heard it when their Eevees evolved, I had heard children hear it from their parents when the beloved family pet Sevee evolved into a new form. I had understood it then, but it was different to live it.

"She's just a little different, but better now that she can talk" WIlliam said, his eyes on Kara. I didn't know if that was directed towards me or not, but I just nodded as Eva giggled and splashed water on some kind of water strider pokemon.

"She's still my Eva" I mumbled, thinking about how we had travelled the world together.

"She is, and she's going to need you soon; Things are totally different for her" William remarked, sitting on a rock near the stony shore.

I hadn't thought about it at all. I hadn't thought about how this anthroization evolution might change Eva, and me for that matter. I had been told I was coming here, getting Eva anthro evolved and then helping set up a safari zone. I had never stopped to think how that would affect me or Eva. To be honest I was kind of on autopilot, like after this everything would go back to normal, but as I saw Eva’s happy smile in the water I knew things would never be the same.

Eventually WIlliam and I pulled ourselves away from watching the pokemon, deciding to get our campsite more comfortable. Kara had downed a tree and William had (along with a few of his other pokemon) made a firepit and used logs as benches around it. I didn't see Jack until he emerged from the forest, carrying dozens of berries and some other hard fruits in a basic pokemart bag.

"Hey guys, i followed the river up a little ways, found berries and Apricorns" He informed us, shaking the bag for emphasis.

"Are they safe?" WIlliam asked his brother and grabbed a bright yellow berry from the bag. Jack held up his pokegear, showing a webpage on the screen.

"Yea most are, a few haven't been identified, I pulled up a list of known berries before we left" Jack explained "The Apricorns can be used to make fancy pokeballs, which will be great for pokemon trainers wanting to come"

"Yurai, can you come here? Taste testing"

Yurai, who had been lifting smaller pokemon and floating skyward with them, only to drop them in the water, dropped what she was doing (Literally dropping an oddish) and floated over. The words "taste testing" also got Kara and Eva's attention, because they emerged from the river to come towards us. Eva immediately shook herself, her fur poofing out adorably while Kara just strode over, unbothered by the fact she and Eva were naked.

"Got new berries from the region. Wanna try them?" Jack asked, heading over to the stump of the tree Kara had downed. He sat next to it and pulled out a small knife and some of the berries.

"Ooooo new berries? You spoil me master" She cooed, floating over at a relaxed pace.

Jack busied himself cutting the berries into pieces While William helped to dry Kara off. I grabbed a towel from my pack to emulate him, but Eva had already rushed away from me, towards Jack and his feast of fruit.

"All of these are safe, I just wanna know if you like them" Jack said calmly, passing a small chunk of a yellow fruit to Yurai.

"C-can I have some?" Eva asked timidly. Jack didn't answer, instead just pushed a piece of the fruit to Eva, who ate it in a single bite. Yurai watched Eva, her fruit piece still in her hands as Eva made a distressed face.

"S-Sour!" She giggled, her lips puckering as she chewed. Yurai perched herself on Eva, her breasts on top of Evas head as she smiled with her zipper teeth while Eva looked confused and amused.

"Ooo I like sour" She singsonged before eating the piece. Jack watched her with an amused smile as her face puckered as well, her pink eyes going wide

"sh-shour" She half giggled and half gasped.

Kara ate her piece and stood there without complaint, only a simple "Good" in her raspy voice. By now other pokemon had started crowding around Jack much to my confusion.

"He's always been like that," William said to me, motioning with his chin to Jack, who now had wild pokemon bringing him other berries for him to cut up and serve.

"What?"

"MMost pokemon like him, which is why it was odd he didn't have one for so long"

I watched as Jack cut up another yellow fruit into smaller bits, passing them out to smaller pokemon. Soon a sort of Pokemon assembly line formed, bringing berries to Jack to be cut up. I think the wild pokemon were just amazed that a human was cutting up food for them. Eva, still naked, rushed over to me with a chunk of the sour yellow fruit.

"Boss you gotta try it! it's so sou...so good!" She lied through her teeth with Yurai still on her head.

"isn't that the sour fruit" i asked pointedly

"Uhhh… n-noooo"

"Prove it! Lets see you ea-" I didn't get to finish because jumped me with a quick attack, knocking me over and shoving the fruit piece in my mouth.

I wish I could say it was tasty and not sour at all, but it was like someone had taken a lemon, distilled it down to pure sourness, then poured it into a vat of those sour candies. I felt my face contort as Eva giggled and high fived Yurai, who was also giggling nonstop.

"You ok?" WIlliam asked, helping me back to my feet.

"Y-yep, I'm good" I wheezed out, grabbing an offered water bottle.

Kara scoffed at my reaction, grabbed a whole yellow fruit and downed it easily, as if to say "here's how you do it" I just coughed, trying to wash away the ultra sour flavor.

"Y-you try it" I coughed weakly. William shook his head, but Jack calmly took a piece and ate it, chewing slowly while Eva and Yurai watched for a reaction. Nothing happened. Jack just shrugged and continued cutting up berries and passing them around. Yurai floated to him, coming to a rest on his shoulders, a smile on her face.

Sunlight streamed down through the clouds as I raised my camera, snapping a picture of Jack surrounded by pokemon, Yurai on his shoulders. If that did not represent a safari zone then nothing would. It took a few hours for the pokemon to grow both bored and full, as they slowly stopped bringing berries and also stopped coming. The sun was starting to set when the last one, a Small bug type with pinchers, took a small bit of a berry and scuttled off.

"That was unexpected," Jack sighed, wiping down his knife.

"That was fun" Eva retorted happily with the juice from some berries around her mouth. Jack eyed her for a moment, shrugged, and opened an MRE that Yurai had brought him while he was taste testing.

"Pokemon here are friendly and not prone to attacking, which is a huge positive" Jack sighed, tapping the screen of his pokegear.

"Did..Did you do that on purpose? To see if they would"

Jack nodded at me like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Location can be perfect, but if the pokemon are too aggressive there's no point to opening one, that's what happened to Mt. Silver in Johto"

My mind flashed to Johto and an area of Victory Road my family wasn’t allowed to enter due to dangerous pokemon. I recall I threw a small tantrum back then and internally cringed from that memory. That had been more than 10 years ago yet that still bothered me.

"Has it happened in other places?" I asked, trying to think of anything other than that. Jack nodded.

"There was one place that tried to restrict the wild pokemon, saying only "cute" pokemon could enter, that place failed" He said as he slowly spread out his food on the tree stump.

"May I have the jalapeno spread master?" Yurai asked from her place on his shoulders. Wordlessly, he passed her the spread as he organized his food, William was doing the same as I realized I didn't have one.

"You and Eva can grab an MRE from Karas pack" William said as if reading my mind. Grateful , I grabbed one that said "seven cheese tortellini" and opened it. I followed the brothers lead, spreading out the food in front of me on tree round WIlliam and Kara had made while Jack was doing his whole pokemon thing.

"Boss, can I have the....Breakfast pastries?" Eva asked, prodding the non descript packet.

"They are poptarts" I responded, "And aren't you full from all the berries?"

Eva shook her head, her ears flopping as she did.

"Nope, but I haven't tried these as an anthro" She responded, her hand on the packet.

I pushed the packet to her and she preened happily, tearing it open like it contained the last food on earth. With very little in the way of manners, She shoved an entire poptart into her mouth which made Yurai giggle.

"Ishhh ghood!" Eva said happily, her mouth full of half chewed food.

"Note to self, table manners" I mumbled to myself as I ate. Jack and William were trading while Kara ate everything in her MRE without sharing or even really stopping to taste it.

William stood up and started setting up the firepit with wood he had gathered while the pokemon were playing in the river. This time he lit it with a match instead of trying to get Kara to use fire blast or something else crazy like that. I took my camera from her with a nod and held it up, indicating to Kara I was ready. To my surprise, Kara grabbed William who let out a small "Hey" before she pressed her face to his in what I could loosely call a kiss.

"Oooooo get 'im!" Yurai Cheered, startling a few small pokemon that had settled around Jack, who didn't even bother looking up from cutting up the bits of food they brought him.

I smiled and snapped a few pictures of them as William tried to resist her at first, but then seemed to just give up, hugging Kara. Even after I finished taking the pictures, they held their embrace and I looked away, not wanting to disturb their intimate moment, so I tried to focus anywhere else.

Eventually I looked up and saw thousands of stars I had never seen before as well as the band of the milky way. I raised my camera and snapped a picture of the skyline, although it didn't do it justice.

"Hard to see with light pollution" Jack remarked, not looking up from what he was doing. Yurai was sitting on his knee, trading things with the wild pokemon. I saw her give a small bug pokemon a shiny coin and receive a small shiny rock in return. Another good picture for later I thought, my camera snapping the picture.

I felt my face flush while Yurai floated over to Eva where they started giggling and quietly chatting. I watched them, then grabbed my camera and snapped a picture of them together. I scrolled through my pictures and finally felt that it was a good thing I had come out into the wild.
