My Former Student and Me

Just a small and slightly-NSFW flashfic I wrote on the side. What do you think?

The bell rang. Like a wind chime, it echoed from the front entrance all the way to my study at the back of the old house, alerting me to my guest’s arrival. Never in my years did I think that I would feel such joy at hearing the jarring yet melodic tone interrupt my deepest thoughts, and I stood up from my lounge-chair after bookmarking my latest novel.

I’d never admit it to anybody, but I did skip to the front entrance like an excited little vixen. I did it all the way from my personal study to the foyer of my home, opening the door with bright white fangs revealing my smile. I imagined it standing out against my black fur.

There he stood, a handsome young leopard twenty-four years my junior. He still wore the school’s letterman jacket, despite him no longer attending and the warm evening weather making it unnecessary. My elder eyes fell on his beaming bright blue orbs when they locked with mine, and I spotted mischief deep within them.

“Hello, teach.”

“Ashton.” I groaned, “Why do you keep calling me that? And why do you still wear that?”

“Because I know you like it when I do,” he chuckled, winking.

“I doubt either helps our case,” I mentioned, stepping aside to invite him in.

“Fuck the haters, John,” he said, then paused beneath the doorframe to lean up and give my nose a soft peck. “And I know you still like it.”

I blushed heavily, still feeling his phantom kiss on my wet nose even as I shut the door and walked us into the living room. My smile refused to fade. I still felt lighter than air. As Ashton went about describing his day and telling me a story about one of his friends and a few of my former students experiencing relationship drama, I sat down next to the leopard. I began to wonder how lucky I was for us to be possible.

The two of us knew how it looked: an older black bear working as a high school English teacher dating a former student mere weeks after graduating. Ashton knew it. I knew it. Everyone knew how it looked from the outside.

Neither of us could help it though. We never committed any crimes. Having known Ashton had a crush on me since halfway through senior year, I did the responsible thing as an adult with higher authority; not treating him any differently and telling the athletic leopard we couldn’t do anything so long as I was his teacher. It didn’t matter if he turned eighteen already or if I’d been a widow for a long while. I could never take advantage of him, and I doubted he wanted me to get into trouble.

So, we waited. He eagerly finished school, looking forward to beginning a semester at the local community college in September. I felt the same way and was patient. I waited until he got his diploma, returned from vacation with his folks, then happily married returned the leopard’s affections after inviting him to a cafe. That have been where we exchanged numbers and even kissed for the first time.

Speaking of which, Ashton and I lounged together on my couch as we waited for the pizza in the oven to finish cooking and the alarm to go off. Our lips were entwined in blissful contentment, his whiskers tickling my cold nose. Our minds drifted back-and-forth between enjoying the moment and not thinking at all. Me? I was finding joy in caressing his spotted fur beneath those athletic clothes and making out with the younger lad. It made me feel like a college kid again experiencing this sheer excitement of testing my sexuality. I betted that it felt the same for Ashton, who was feverish as we continued to make out.

Momentarily, we had to part for oxygen, my muzzle breathing against his.

“So, do you have an early shift tomorrow?” I asked.

He chuckled, “I’ve got all morning. We’ve…got all morning.”

“Excellent,” I mumbled, then leaned forward. Our nostrils flared at the thrilling thought of a long, spectacular night ahead of us. “Very excellent…”

His rough feline tongue danced against mine and surrendered to my own oral appendage when I started to explore even more of his maw. It made things clear that despite years spent in a heterosexual relationship, I still knew how to kiss unlike a college student. I wasn’t impatient or eager. I simply convinced Ashton that the scenic route was always the best and the journey is more important than any destination.

An hour or so later, the oven alarm went off, and I sliced our pizza in the healthy portions as we sat in the living room and I started a movie. Originally, I wanted to cook us a meal together, but the thought of making out with Ashton on the couch turned out to be too tempting, and the cheeky lad convinced me to settle for a deep dish. After which, we’d enjoy a movie together for the night. We negotiated for a little bit and settled on a classic the leopard had never seen before.

“How have you never watched Twelve Angry Men?” I continued to keep asking. “Didn’t you attend Mrs. Spinelli’s class? Social studies? She loves playing those kinds of movies.”

“I did, John. All the way back in junior year,” he explained with a sigh. “I got sick that week though. By the time I returned, Spinelli’s course was focusing on the legislative branch.”

“Well, you missed out on a masterpiece,” I chuckled, taking a bite from one of my slices as the film’s opening credits played on the TV. “And if you’re gonna get that Criminal Justice minor, you need to watch this. Otherwise, your classmates and professors are all going to laugh at you.”

The coy leopard cocked an eyebrow. “Like you’re laughing at me, huh?” He smirked while chewing on his own slice. “How can you do that? Mock your own boyfriend?”

I failed to hide my satisfaction of hearing him refer to me as his boyfriend. The smile I wore made that clear enough.

“If you want,” I suggested, “I’ll make it up to you later tonight? And in the morning?”

Ashton purred, leaning against me as the film officially started. “I’d love that, John.” He wiggled his butt against my growing erection, teasing me. “I’ll give you a reward too if you don’t try to give me a lecture on the movie’s themes.”

I knew he was kidding, but I still replied with, “I shall consider it.”

We both smiled, relaxing together the rest of the evening. We were both lucky. Despite the age gap and the fact that he used to be one of my students, we didn’t need to hide as much of our attraction to each other. At the very least, my colleagues and the principal supported me and so did Ashton’s parents, albeit reluctantly (dinner with them was INCREDIBLY AWKWARD).

Neither of us could help it. We were in love and wanted to explore a relationship throughout summer, taking advantage of the warm weather and boundless possibilities. It didn’t stop either of us from getting strange looks and gossiping stares throughout town whenever we went out on a date. However, if the gawking or constant glances ever became too much, at least Ashton and I had the comfort of spending a night indoors, cuddling on the couch with some pizza and a good film.

And a good sleep in bed, of course. Wink-wink.
