Well, seeing as I'm celebrating my writing all month long, it seemed only suitable to also include a fresh chapter of the Cohen-Kline Icosahedron!

Our protagonist is a 19 year old college student named Kaiden Wilson, a Unity Programme graduate from Vancouver British Columbia, and the odd situation in which he is put thanks to a discovery of yet more versions of earth in the rapidly expanding multiple-reality-stretching world in which this story series takes place. Unlike on many other Earths, Plateau Earth places one visiting student with seven natives. The Viddin, as they call themselves are divided into multiple categories based on species, and overworked, over-utilized has one of each.

With the final night of their field trip upon them, it's time for Sokkas and Tral to get some time with Kaiden. Will they be good at HuuStook, or will they have a problem with sharing? Let's find out!

This story started as a spin-off purely as a joke, yet it quickly developed a following and is now a canon addition to the Other Earths series. That being said, this is still several books away from where I am currently writing with Book 2 about to finish.

If there is suitable interest in this post then I plan on updating Ch 16 on April 1st, this story's anniversary.

As always, thank you for reading, and I appreciate all the comments and favs I receive. Cohen Icosahedron will be book 6 in the series, so, if there ISN'T a resurgence of interest it'll still be awhile til we get back to Cohen-Kline Icosahedron, but hopefully you will all hang in there and enjoy the path that will lead us back to it!

The Cohen-Kline Icosahedron Chapter 15 copyright comidacomida 2025 The final night of camping saw the Roost lingering around the fire for quite some time after dinner. While the Viddin contined the night with their ever-present communal discussions, covering, by what Kaiden could make out amidst the chaotic chorus, everything ranging from the weather to the day's hike to the hotsprings, the soaring flight back down the mountain, and more than a few comments about the pickled herring. The Human was pleased that his classmates had enjoyed it so much; he certainly had as well. Knowing that their overexcited conversation was not going to let up, Kaiden figured his time would be better spent getting ready for bed so, with little more than closing up the food cooler, the young man stood up, dusted his hands off on his jeans, and made his way toward the large tent he'd shared the prior night with Hahn and Nittik. Gathering his belongings, he exited it and crossed the camp to enter the pavilion sized one being shared by Sokkas and Tral, whom he'd be joining for the night. The interior smelled strongly of Viddin, which was unspectacular, but what he did notice right away was the clear delineation between Tral's side and Sokkas'. The larger Viddinire's side had a large amount of feather dander covering everything; a large indentation in the canvas-covered ground identified where he'd previously bedded down, and a large knapsack, one that had been carried by Zithing, lay on its side, revealing a collection of various electronic items that looked like a half-assembled speaker. The opposite side of the pavilion was near-spotless save for a single black feather hanging from a thin strip of leather off of one of the thin structural rods holding the structure up. Smiling at the differences between their sleeping spots being as diametrically opposed as the mindsets of the two Viddin, Kaiden began laying out his sleeping bag right atop the divide between the two sides of the pavilion. Both Zithing and Sogig joined him a few minutes later, moving to assist him without a single request from the Human; they were as efficient as always, and had the spot ready for bed in a matter of moments. From there, Zithing quickly made his exist with a simple "iss'Tral is looking forward to tonight." Sogig remained a few moments longer, pulling a decent sized jar out from a pouch he carried on his hip. Smiling a reptilian grin at Kaiden, the little Drone's tongue emerged from his muzzle, extending further and further and impossibly further, nearly filling the container with its length before let let out a faint 'mlewah', drawing it back into his muzzle as, at the same time, copious amounts of sticky, thick saliva replaced it, nearly spilling over the brim. The little reptile winked at him. "If you need more just come find me, iss'Kaiden." Sogig set the jar down and skittered out of the tent. Sighing, Kaiden shook his head, rolling his eyes in mirth as he went to collect the jar full of Xys. He chuckled to himself as he returned to his sleeping bag. "Ilsit Drones think of EVERYTHING." A soft, smooth-as-silk voice spoke to him from the entrance to the pavilion. "Do they?" Turning around, Kaiden watched Sokkas push the flap out of his way with a wing, stepping in and letting it flip closed behind him. Kaiden smiled, holding out his arms. "Yep... and now you're here." The Viddinich padded forward without hurry, pausing right in front of Kaiden so he could lower his head and touch his forehead to the Human's. "Mmmm. Yes. Sokkas does spend a lot of time thinking about me." Kaiden knew at once that Sokkas was just playing with him. Smiling, he gave the Viddin's neck a hug. "I spend a lot of time thinking about you as well." Sokkas let out a pleased rumble, stepping forward so that he overtook Kaiden, knocking the young man to the ground; from there, the Viddinich laid down with his chest between the Human's leg, resting his head on Kaiden's sternum. "Mmm... me too." Tral's deep, mirthful voice chided from the entrance. "You spend a lot of time thinking about yourself, Sokkas?" The dour Viddinich grumbled back at the newcomer. "Karukt. Kul aul'kihk ip aul'jah, hukt." Kaiden had not often heard such a scathing a dismissal stated so blandly; Tral didn't seem to mind. "HuuStook, classmate." Sokkas pulled Kaiden almost under him, curling his body around the Human. "Wait your turn. I just want to hold him for awhile before anything else." Tral chuckled, the sound rich, warm, and, most of all, patient. "Alright... but I will get to do the same later, classmate... and, unless you're planning on a hu'asst, don't take too long. I've waited all trip to get time with Kaiden'huu." Letting out a long, contented sigh, Sokkas gave Kaiden a gentle squeeze. "Fine. You can have him next year... he is mine until then." It was delivered with such monotone flatness that the Human almost missed the twitch of the Viddinich's tail indicating humor. Tral seemed to acknowledge the jest as well, flopping down audibly on his side of the pavilion, giving Kaiden a good-natured wink before rolling over so that his back was to the two; it was a courteous amount of 'privacy' considering the cramped quarters. Sokkas loosened his hold on Kaiden but kept the Human pulled close to his body, beak resting on the Human's head, softly preening his hair. Kaiden had always enjoyed the feel of being so close to his classmates and the quiet, intimate moments with those who were most appreciative for his proximity were both relaxing and reinvigorating all at once. When he spoke next, the black-feathered Viddin spoke quietly in English. "I enjoyed this trip very much, Kaiden. Thank you for choosing such a unique adventure." Smiling, Kaiden reached up and ruffled the feathers around Sokkas' neck. He paused when his hands came back darker in color; that made him pause. "Hmm... I didn't even think about that... crap." His snuggling companion paused, cocking his head back to look down at the Human. "Is something wrong, Kaiden'im?" From off to the side, Tral chided. "Aul'Kaiden? You mean Kaiden'huu?" Sokkas shot back. "Kaiden'im. He'll be Kaiden'huu later." The Human, finding a little less humor in their bickering, showed the black smudges on his fingers. "It's your feathers, Sokkas... I forgot about the hydrogen sulfide levels in the hotsprings." The Viddin looked at his fingers; it seemed to take a moment for him to understand what Kaiden meant but, in the end, he just shrugged. "That is alright... you can help me reapply the piggments when we return to the campus." For a Viddin so caught up on how he presented himself, Sokkas' rather understated response was a surprise. Half-wondering if he could get a rise from his companion, Kaiden decided to jab just one more time. "You know... the only Viddinich I've ever mated with has been all black... I wonder if coloration makes much difference." Sokkas, surprisingly, didn't rise to the bait. Squeezing Kaiden even tighter, the Viddinich bumped him on the head with his beak. "We can find out when I am done using you as my asstjah, zfielt'im." Although 'asstjah' was not a term Kaiden could recall hearing, he understood it by its context and its individual component parts: he was Sokkas' 'cuddle-bag'. It wasn't a role he minded, and reveled in the feel of being surrounded by fur and feathers for what was probably the dozenth time that trip. Kaiden was so content in his classmate's embrace that he surprised himself by almost falling asleep-- it had been a long day and he was so comfortable that he had just about drifted off before Tral's smooth, rumbling bass questioned "Are you going to monopolize Kaiden'huu for much longer, classmate?" Letting out a long sigh, Sokkas slowly uncurled his body from Kaiden, nuzzling him tenderly with his beak. "Kaiden'huu... have you fallen asleep, ak'kur?" Tral rumbled pleasantly. "Ak'kur? I like that. Did you learn that from Prirn?" Kaiden couldn't help but chuckle at that, rolling over in Sokkas' loose grip so that he was facing the Viddinich's chest. "What's wrong with him saying 'my heart'? I think it sounds sweet, Tral." The large Viddinire clacked his beak twice. "There is nothing wrong with it. I just said that I liked it too, Kaiden'huu." Sokkas gave Kaiden's forehead a gentle beak-touch, seemingly ignoring their larger classmate. "Kaiden'huu, I would very much like to rut with you tonight, but if you are too tired then we can just sleep instead." Kaiden smiled at that craning his head up so he could kiss the underside of Sokkas' beak. "Are you okay with sharing." The Viddinich let out a soft rumble, a hint that his bland response was (mostly) spoken in jest. "Only if I have to." The Human chuckled, reaching down to slip his boxers off; it was all he was wearing after getting ready for bed, making it easy to join his classmates in being naked. He didn't bother with his sleeping bag; he had two Viddin to keep him warm. Rather than respond in words, Kaiden slid his hips closer to his black-furred lover. "Are you going to hold still for me, Sokkas?" "If you'd like me to, of course." Kaiden streched over his head and past Sokkas' to collect the jar of Xys that had been left in his care. He dipped three fingers into it then reaching down beneath himself, carefully slipping his last two digits around the Viddinich's sheath to draw the furred flesh back; Sokkas let out a pleased warble, his hips moving fractionally toward Kaiden's hand and, suddenly, his Xys-slick digits encircled his classmate's member; the soft coo that followed from Sokkas made the Human giddy. With a generous amount of Xys on his partner, Kaiden grabbed more, slipping one finger into himself to ensure that there was enough for him to accomidate Sokkas and, no longer interested in waiting, slid into position, belly-to-belly with the Viddin, both laying on their sides. His lover's body went taut, a shiver running through his entire form. A moment later, Sokkas murmured "This... is... a new position." Kaiden smiled, reaching up to rub the side of Sokkas' beak and face. "Do you like it?" Quivering, the Viddin just nodded his head, ultimately murmuring a warbling "Y-y-y-eee-ah..." and, the Human noticed, it resonated in time with strong, pulsing jets of semen coating his insides; it was a very positive review indeed. The young man kissed Sokkas' throat. "You were denying yourself again... that's why we were snuggling?" It was something that his companion had seemed to develop a habit for but, surprisingly, Sokkas refuted the assessment. "I wanted to hold you. We have lots of time to mate, but sometimes it just feels good to feel your body relaxed against me." Tral, voice coming from right behind Kaiden, piped in. "Relaxed against you... and then followed up with a really quick breeding." Sokkas, surprisingly, didn't object. "The breeding is an added bonus." Kaiden didn't mind the friendly banter but, feeling his own erection stimulated by the fur of Sokkas' underside, he was also hoping that the physical intimacy wasn't done. He reached up to rub the side of Sokkas' head fur. "So... are you ready to HuuStook, Sokkas?" Rather than confirming or countering, Sokkas changed the conversation with a question of his own. "How much Xys do you have?" Uncertain how that pertained to his own question, Kaiden, nevertheless, answered it. "A whole mason jar. Hassag gave it to me while I was getting ready for bed." Viddin beaks weren't the most expressive of features, but Kaiden recognized a grin when he saw one. Sokkas called past Kaiden. "Tral?" The large Viddinire shifted behind Kaiden and the Human suddenly felt his presence as one side of Tral's broad, muscled flank lowered to rest against the small of his back. "Do we want to have him at the same time?" Sokkas touched the top of Kaiden's head. "Kaiden'huu... do you think you would be able to have both of us inside you at the same time?" It took a second before the Human realized what was being suggested. "As in... the same hole at the same time?" The idea caused his heart to race-- whether it was fear or excitement he wasn't entirely sure. Sokkas' reaffirming chirp was followed by a very frank, very clear. "Yes." Tral rose up after that, slowly rotating around once and Kaiden looked over his shoulder, pausing when he saw the Viddinire's very generous length bobbing in time with his pulse beneath the huge Viddin's large bulk. He realized that his heart racing wasn't fear. "I... think we could give it a try." The next minute and a half was spent with Kaiden using both hands to work Xys all along Tral's length; the Viddin seemed to enjoy it, offering up words of encouragement and admittance of enjoying the feel. To Tral's credit, the Viddinire didn't cum all over the floor, managing to avoid it despite once or twice thrusting into the Human's ministrations. Once Kaiden figured that the huge member was suitably coated, he took another two fingers worth of the xys and worked it into his opening, which was already loosened from his quick round with Sokkas. After that, he turned back to the Viddinich. "Alright... I think that's about as ready as I'm gonna get." Sokkas let out a warding squawk as Tral flopped down behind Kaiden, turning toward him. "Hey! Not that way, hukt!" Tral paused, one large talon gently holding Kaiden's hip. "What do you mean?" The dark-furred Viddinich stood up, shaking out his plumage. "I don't want your kihk all over me... lay on your back. Kaiden can be on top of you, and I will be on top of him." The large Viddinire complied without objection and, as he lay on his back, wings spread to help him keep balanced on his spine, he curled the talons of his forelegs, hindlegs splayed as he looked up at Sokkas and Kaiden both. He offered a split-beak smile at Sokkas. "You know, for your size, you have very large..." he paused, eyes moving to regard Kaiden. "Kaiden'huu... what is the word in English for ornaki?" Kaiden had to avoid laughing; literally, 'ornaki' translated to 'little eggs', which was slang in Viddin for testicles. Sokkas didn't need the translation, responding simply "I inherited them from my father. I come from a long line of breeders. We are very proud." Tral was all smiles, extending and clenching his talons. "You should be." Snorting, Sokkas gave Kaiden a gentle bump with a shoulder. "You should be complimenting Kaiden'huu, not me, hukt." The large Viddin turned to regard Kaiden and offered a fresh beaky grin. "It is alright, Kaiden... I like your ornaki too, even if they are furless." It was a strange discussion for a strange experiment. In the end, however, Kaiden found no small amount of success. Tral and Sokkas did manage to breed him in unison... three times that night, in fact. After that Sokkas let him and Tral have their own union before having Kaiden once again to himself. Kaiden finally found his release during his final coupling with Tral and, after that, true to his word, Sokkas left Kaiden with the large Viddinire so they could get some one-on-one time snuggling. It was a long night and, as he slowly drifted off to sleep, he felt Tral's warm breath on his sweaty neck, along with a gleeful admission of "Mmm... there's that scent again..." and his leg was slathered by a fresh triple jet of warm, sticky fluids. Although he possibly could have minded, by that point his sleep-addled mind mused that hew as probably more Viddin semen than Human anyway, and he fell asleep thoroughly satisfied. * * * * * Kaiden awoke in the morning, thoroughly sore despite the Xys. Both Viddin had ended up drawing close to one another; the latter was pressed up against Kaiden's back while Tral had his forelimbs around both the Human and Sokkas. Realizing it was still early, Kaiden was almost tempted to spend a little longer enjoying the moment, but he also knew that the staff would be arriving at dawn so that meant that he needed to get up. He reached up to scratch Tral's chest while reaching behind himself to rub sokkas' ribs. "Come on, you two... we gotta get ready to leave." The two Viddin separated from him without any objection and Sokkas didn't even have any harsh words for Tral. Both, in fact, came together to preen Kaiden and clean him up. Sokkas paused when the large Viddinire went 'down there' at which point the Viddinich recoiled. "You know... that's my seed too." Tral's wings flexed with his human-like shrug. "I don't mind... this is for Kaiden." The Human felt his cheeks flush red when, with a grunt and a dour huff, Sokkas' beak joined Tral's. Kaiden had not expected such after care and, despite himself, he had to latch onto one of Tral's forelegs and one of Sokkas' hindlegs as their two very thorough tongues inadvertantly brought him a fresh release. As the two pulled awak, Sokkas licked his beak, saying almost as if it were a promise. "I shall have to remember your response to my care for another time, Kaiden'huu." Surprsingly clean after such a messy night, Kaiden was able to change his clothes and join the Viddin and Ilsit outside before the sun rose. The Viddin had gathered together and were doing what they could to centralize the packed-up tents that the Ilsit had put away, moving everything to the center of the camp where the firepit had been; Kaiden was pleased to see that it had been suitably smothered. The scrambler arrived as promised, just as the sun was cresting the horizon. The Ilsit gathered up everything and quickly loaded it all up into the cargo bay as Kaiden hopped up into his seat and the Viddin clamored onboard, all of them talking in unison in the very verbose way of their kind. Kaiden smiled to himself; it had been a good trip, and he was not the only one to think so. Even, so, he found himself sitting tenderly; yeah, he figured, the Xys worked well, but it certainly couldn't work miracles. Ted, the same technician that joined them on the way out, also picked them up. The two ended up chatting on the way home about the camping trip. When Ted asked Kaiden if the field trip nad been worthwhile there was only one possible answer. "Absolutely." From behind them, the Viddin all rapidly agreed, speaking their minds in unison about their individual favorite parts of the journey. The technician nodded emphatically. "I bet! Considering this was the first real chance for you guys to experience the wilderness of Land Earth, I can only imagine how much you probably enjoyed the vacation... what about the learning opportunities?" Every last one of his classmates went silent at that. Ultimately it was Kytskir who spoke up first. "Exploring the old airfield was amazing. Learning about the history Humans had with war and experiencing the run down remnants of--" Kaiden took it as an opporunity to prpeare his Roost. "Everyone'll be writing a report about it before class begins tomorrow." The comment received a variety of groans from the Viddin passengers, and Kaiden was almost certain he heard Nittik and Hahn say "Khwah" in unison. * * * * * The flight back to the campus felt like it took far less time than the original flight to the campsite; Kaiden remembered hearing something about that being the way the brain worked when it came to trips, but he set the thought aside as the scrambler touched down and everyone finally got a chance to pile out of the vehicle. His classmates, again, started talking in unison-- Kytskir mentioning something about wanting to get started on his report; Hahn was already talking about taking a nap; Nittik was mentioning being hungry; Trail proudly proclaimed he was going to go 'urinate mightily'. After saying farewell to Tom, Kaiden found himself heading back toward his Roost's assigned quarters with Sokkas on one side of him and Vetlyk on the other; Sogig followed a very short distance behind Sokkas. The three of them walked together without a word spoken, and the silence felt familiar, comfortable and, in a way, after all the chaos of the dialogue on the way home, calming. Without the transport vehicle the three had to go half way across the campus, but Kaiden didn't mind the quiet time. Vetlyk was the first to break the silence, speaking up from his place to Kaiden's right, strolling beside him as he spoke. "Thank you for a wonderful journey, Takket'im. I enjoyed it very much." Kaiden reached up and rested a hand on Vetlyk's shoulder beneath his wing. "You're welcome, Vetlyk... I'm glad you enjoyed it. I did too." Not to be outdone, Sokkas added "You were with me last night, Kaiden'huu... I realize that I will need to HuuStook, but I will look forward to having time alone with you again soon. I will be in my room if you need me." He leaned forward and touched his forehead to Kaiden's. Using that as his farewell, he trotted on ahead, leaving the Human alone with Vetlyk-- excluding Sogig, who moved to take the Viddinich's place, asking simply and enigmatically "Good night?" Smiling, Kaiden nodded, realizing what the Drone was getting at. He held out the empty mason jar that Sogig had left full the prior evening. "Yep." The Lizard accepted it with a big smile on his small muzzle. He said something in the Ilsit language; it was bright and full of levity but Kaiden didn't understand. What he DID comprehend, however, was the four digit talon that Sogig held up for him. When Kaiden didn't respond at first, the Drone shook it back and forth in the air. "iss'Kaiden?" Rolling his eyes, Kaiden reached forward and gave the small, scaled hand a high-five. Letting out a content chirp-hiss, Sogig ran to catch up to Sokkas, calling out to him in the Ilsit language, rambling on about something-or-other. Vetlyk actually let out an abbreviated 'ha' at that. Glancing to his companion, Kaiden questioned him. "What was that about?" The feathers around Vetlyk's beak puffed out with humor. "He likes you." Kaiden nodded and shrugged at the same time. "Yeah... I think all of the Ilsit in our Roost seem to." The Vidday continued his gryphon smile. "They have good taste." Chuckling, Kaiden leaned against his Viddin mate. "You're in a good mood, Vetlyk." The gryphon nodded, leaning back against him, albeit, with less of his weight. "You are by my side... that is good enough a reason." Kaiden was used to the Vidday being so stoic and neutral in all public settings; it was warming to see Vetlyk in so positive a mood. He slowed and his companion did so as well. Leaning forward and going to his tip toes, the Human placed a kiss on the side of Vetlyk's beak. "I love you, Vetlyk." The Viddin turned toward him, bending his forelegs so that he could lower his eyes to Kaiden's height. "And I love you, Kaiden Wilson." He moved forward, touching his beak to the Human's lips. "Very much." Vetlyk was not one for public displays of affection and, even though the side courtyard didn't have any real foot traffic from students, he usually erred on the side of caution. Kaiden found the change in him reaffirming. Smiling, he slid his arm back beneath Vetlyk's wing even as the Viddin half unfurled his wing, then folded it so that it cradled Kaiden. The two walked arm-in-wing back toward their housing unit, both smiling in their race's distinct manner. They remained close together until they arrived, finding Prirn waiting for them at the entrance. The little Viddinur descended the steps quickly, moving to greet Kaiden on his hind legs, talons pressing to either of the Human's shoulders as he touched his beak to both of Kaiden's cheeks, one at a time. "Welcome home, Kawkikikik... It is good to see you and the rest of the Roost again." Kaiden reached up to ruffle the light-colored Viddin's feathery cowl. "It's good to see you too, Prirn. We missed you for our field trip, but hopefully you had a good time here." Prirn lowred himself to his hind paws and moved to take up a spot at the Human's hip. "It was, yes... but... there's something I need to talk to you about, Kaiden." The tone left the Human with the impression that it was important. "Oh... okay?" Vetlyk must have understood something in the tone as well. He touched his beak to the top of Kaiden's head. "Come find me once you two have spoken, Takket'im." Alone with Prirn, the young man followed his classmate into the house, unable to even fathom the purpose of such an important discussion.
