Warriors And Philosophers
Hey, who says the dragon/human dynamic always has to be antagonistic? This one has it much more mutually desired, though there’s still plenty of hot rough dragon sex regardless. Just the way it was meant to be, of course.

King Gaineforth requests your expert services as a dragonslayer. Please make haste to Darandaia at your earliest convenience. Payment will be considerable to eliminate this threat to our continued existence.
Verdin had a feeling something was up the moment he got the message. Personal solicitation of his services as a warrior were nothing new, though rarely from anyone with such esteem as a king. But conflicts between dragons and kingdoms were extremely rare these days, both sides having seen the futility of their antagonism and mostly leaving well enough alone, at least it seemed. True, there were a few dragons that caused problems, but they were mostly afflicted with madness or simply incredibly evil, and generally there wasn’t time for such requests in those cases. So something here was out of the ordinary, and Verdin knew it. He went anyway, because he had nothing better to do.
The king seemed pleased with his appearance at the castle. Not a surprise, Verdin was a hearty specimen of a human, over six and a half feet tall and with well-developed muscles which matched the best of warriors. He looked well-equipped, with thick hide armor covering his body, and a large halberd and a greatsword strapped to his back. He had a rough-cut appearance, long brown hair and a thick beard, making himself look even tougher than his frame suggested, an appearance he found inspired confidence.
It certainly seemed that it worked here, as he was given the job on the spot. King Gaineforth made no secret of his disdain for the dragon Calagris, proclaiming many crimes of a variety of natures, some of which did sound truly horrendous. But the regent seemed to sour when Verdin tried to ask more questions - it seemed that he had been hoping for a dumb piece of meat to act as his sword, not someone more sophisticated. Sensing this, Verdin dropped his probing and agreed to look into it, but he was no fool, he wasn’t about to head into battle without knowing more.
And the more he learned, the more suspicious he got. Talking to people in the city around the castle, he found few people with complaints about Calagris - in fact, they seemed more or less on good terms with the dragon, and surprised that anyone would hire someone to attack him. Sure, there were a few who disliked him, but Verdin could sense the antagonism of dragonkind in general within them, and it was hard to take them fully seriously. He kept quiet the fact that the king had been his employer, but a couple comments from people around led him to believe some of them suspected that it was he. A few implored him not to do anything to Calagris, and Verdin assured them he wasn’t going to rush into things, he would just examine the situation and make sure everything was calm. Though now he was suspecting that any disturbance would be his own fault.
Still, he wouldn’t have been doing anyone justice by not at least checking things out. So he supplied himself with enough provisions for the trip and made his way towards the mountains, in the direction of Calagris’s lair as helpfully pointed out by both the king and a couple of townsfolk. It was a long journey, but fairly easy, several days of walking with few hostile creatures to worry about. Almost refreshing, in a way, especially after his last job where he’d had swarms of angry creatures coming after him, sent by a strange druid who had been tormenting a farming village for no apparent reason, but by the time he was getting to the end it was almost boring. A small part of him hoped that Calagris would provide some entertainment, regardless of what happened.
The dragon’s cave was surprisingly easy to access, being the one closest to the near face of the mountains, with a trail leading up pretty close to it. Verdin knew there were other dragons around, there were usually several living in fairly close circles these days, territoriality aside. Encountering one might not end well, since he looked threatening enough that they might mistake him for one of those who went around trying to slay their kind for the prestige. So he made haste into Calagris’s cave, trying to appear as causal as possible.
As he got deeper in, he heard a rush of sounds - roars, crashes, explosions, the sounds of a wild and vicious battle. Now it was more than duty spurring him on, it was curiosity. He stepped a bit quicker through the passage, following the signs of lights towards the inner areas. Soon enough he reached a larger chamber, well-lit with both torches and magical runes on the walls, sparsely but adequately furnished in a fairly demure and homely fashion, almost welcoming of visitors.
The sounds of the battle had died away, and he could hear footsteps coming his way. Verdin kept his weapons sheathed, not wanting to show too hostile a presence, at least not until it was warranted. From the other end, a figure came through…
Calagris wasn’t the giant beast that some dragons were, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t imposing. He was a bipedal version of dragon, beastly but still appearing more refined than the more animalistic type of dragon. Ten feet tall and change, built like a warrior such as Verdin could only dream, long pearly claws and talons standing out starkly against his black scales, sharp horns poking off the back of his head, large wings making him appear even bigger than he was...he was clearly a powerful creature by appearance. But the way he was standing, a hand bracing himself against the wall, the other holding his side, hunched over and smoking slightly, did not make him look especially threatening.
“Mmph...oh, crap, you look like...wait, let me guess, King Gaineforth sent you?” Calagris groaned, trying to straighten up but still clearly panting. “Damn, I wasn’t ready for this...I’m afraid I won’t be able to offer you my full strength, but if it’s a battle you’re after, well, I shall do my best...would much rather not see my life end in such a fashion if I can help it.”
Verdin could hardly believe his ears...this was clearly not Calagris’s first encounter with a potential enemy, and his response seemed far less than what he would expect from a creature as monstrous as the king had tried to make him out to be. He’d had suspicions, but this was on another level. It wasn’t difficult to make a decision. “At ease, Calagris. I wouldn’t raise a weapon against a creature so obviously wounded and not showing any real threat. You should rest, and recover yourself.”
“Oh? That’s not something I usually hear from a warrior of such obvious caliber as yourself. I very much appreciate it.” Calagris visibly relaxed, and stumbled over to one of the seats at the table, slumping into it with a bit of a thud. “I’m afraid you’ve come at a rocky time, sir...”
“Verdin, of Kilm’s Valley. You seem to have been in a bit of a clash, there.”
“Ah, I’m afraid I have the occasional dispute with my neighbors. Lately they’ve been rather restless, and I may have said the wrong thing to set one of them off. At any rate, I’ve rather drained my magic subduing him, so I will need to endure the pain for a while before I can restore myself. Sadly, I would have provided you a poor fight.”
“It seems unlikely to me that a fight would be necessary.” Verdin walked over and pulled a phial from his pack, offering it to the dragon. “Here, perhaps this will help some. I imagine it falls short of your magic in potency, but a bit of relief is better than nothing.”
“Your generosity is appreciated.” Calagris opened the bottle and knocked it back in one fell swoop, feeling a bit of relief from the aches in his body as he did. “Though unusual for one who enters my home unexpectedly. You were sent by King Gaineforth, right?”
“Yes, he spun tales of you as a monster of ill repute. But I found few to corroborate that story...I get the sense that the king may have something against you that no one else seems to know about, or mind. And the crimes he mentioned, I think perhaps many of them are exaggerated if not wholly manufactured.”
“That sounds like Farrin, all right. You’re the eighth he’s sent in the past two years. Most don’t bother with anything more than coming for their attempt at subduing me...the promise of riches is one that easily sways the mind. I’ve sent them all packing before, but of course I’m usually at my peak when they make their appearance. Sadly, it never seems to dissuade him...you’d think he’d give up after so many attempts have failed.”
“Curious. What is it that…” Verdin trailed off as he heard a rumble from outside. “Uh-oh...is that your temperamental neighbor?”
Calagris shook his head. “Thankfully not, he would be much louder. I think this is simply a storm, I was told there was one coming today.”
“Ah...well, I suppose I won’t be going anywhere for a little while, then.”
“Well, you’re welcome to stay in here with me if you’re willing to have a chat with a bored dragon. Can I offer you anything? I do have some teas and other things which are suited to human tastes.”
“Certainly, if it’s not too much trouble.” It felt a bit odd, being so cordial with a dragon, creatures not known for such things even if they were no longer considered base monsters. But Verdin felt pretty at ease with the creature - he seemed well-spoken, intelligent, and interesting, and unquestionably not the danger that he was presented as by the king. He simply had to know why there was such a bitterness toward him...perhaps he would find out.
“Surely you jest.”
“I’m afraid not. That is my true great crime, the one he wouldn’t tell anyone about. I’m a dangerous threat to undermine the monarchy…all because I’ve advocated for rule by the people, rather than the current system.”
The two were sitting at the table, which was a bit large for Verdin but he wasn’t too concerned about the mismatch. The dragon had made some tea and offered some crackers as a modest refreshment, and they had passed the time listening to the sounds of thunder outside and talking about their lives and various other subjects. It was a nice departure for both of them - Calagris rarely had visitors from the outside due to his status as a pariah in Darandaia, and Verdin found few willing to talk with him about more sophisticated matters. Most warriors were rather ill-versed in such things, and others either refused to believe he had a deeper mind or were too intimidated to talk to him. Calagris was neither, and he found himself rather enjoying the discussions they were having. Eventually, he had to ask why the dragon had been treated so poorly, when there was seemingly no good reason. The answer hadn’t been what he expected.
“King Gaineforth has us attack you because you don’t think he should be king?”
“Partly. And partly because I question the entire system upon which his power rests. Even if I do nothing to directly oppose him, I foster thoughts of a different scheme which favors rule by the people...and, well, kings tend not to like it when it’s suggested that others could do better.”
“That is a bold statement, don’t you think? You don’t know that others could do better.”
Calagris gave him a slightly perplexed look. “Really? You believe that birthright confers some advantage in ruling?”
“I...would stop short of saying that.” Verdin couldn’t really claim he thought much of kings...he’d had enough poor encounters with them to have taken a rather dim view in general. Still, the idea of an alternative system...he’d heard of it, but it was one of those things that was from a realm outside his own experience. “I don’t suppose one is born a good ruler, and it’s likely that they are not made capable simply by virtue of that. But there’s no reason why one appointed to lead by his fellows is necessarily any better.”
The dragon nodded in understanding. “You have a certain point...few are raised with the purpose of wielding such power, and there would be a lack of expertise. You could argue that they would be on fairly equal ground. But the one elected has certain advantages. He has a connection with the common people that a monarch simply does not have. And if he performs poorly, he can be replaced with ease, and without bloodshed.”
“Without bloodshed? People would willingly cede power like that, without any resistance?”
“Erm...well, I...envision that would be the case most of the time. Granted, there are certain characters that would likely try to abuse power no matter how it is given...but surely no one would put such individuals into power. They couldn’t possibly be deceptive enough for long enough that the public would buy into their act. Those who would truly advance the cause of all people would surely be more likely to be chosen to lead.”
“Given that I am a human myself, I have grave doubts about the truth of those assertions. There are many who are quite deceptive, and foul magic could certainly influence the minds of people to be unaware of this. And what of those who change after being put into power? One who starts out honest may become corrupted by power, or by someone with an agenda acting on them…”
“Look, I’m not saying it’s foolproof,” Calagris replied with some asperity. “But surely it’s a better chance of good leadership than relying on the birthright of some self-serving twit whose family tree is little more than a trunk. And it is hardly without precedent, there are communities in this world that possess such a power structure and experience fewer political issues than kingdoms. Surely it’s worth considering?”
“I did not deny such a thing. Surely you are not insinuating that asking such questions is out of bounds?”
“...No, certainly not. They are real problems that require solutions, and I’m sure they have been brought to attention of those who are using such a system. I don’t know all the best answers but I’m sure they are not beyond solving.” The dragon leaned back, seemingly settled down from his previous tone. “I suppose I shouldn’t be so hasty in dismissal of such matters. Perhaps I’m a touch zealous about the issue…to be sure, kings remain the greatest source of animosity towards dragons, outside of other dragons, so I cannot deny perhaps a bit of bias in the matter. That said, I still believe it is a superior form of government.”
“I cannot claim otherwise, as I have no experience with such systems. Perhaps I’ll have the chance to examine it personally in the future.” Verdin took a sip of his tea. “I can believe what you say about kings and dragons, though. Why is it they still remain so antagonistic? I thought there was a truce to reduce such hostilities.”
“There is, but as you are surely aware, they don’t always stick to this. Trumped-up charges to justify sending a slayer to take care of us...the truce forces creativity, but stops short of ceasing violence. We dragons have adhered to it far better on balance than the other side.” Calagris let out a smoky sigh. “Sadly, the reasons are well-known and difficult to address. Kings feel threatened by the power of dragons...they want there to be nothing in their kingdom to oppose their rule. And they see prestige in our deaths, they celebrate a slaughter as an achievement of great repute. Thankfully, our power does allow us to repel most who are sent to slay us...and few actual royals are capable enough of putting up even the most meager of fights.”
“Indeed, it seems they make better abductees,” Verdin said with a smirk.
“Oh, heavens. How many dragons still do that these days? Whatever the number it’s too many…”
“A case still pops up here and there. That’s usually what sends me after dragons...reputation aside, I’ve only ever killed two, and they both did plenty to deserve it. More often I’m called on to do royal rescues, probably done about eight or nine of them. Most of the time, just a bored, frustrated dragon who’s playing a prank on the kingdom, never has intent to harm anyone, and sometimes the royal’s even in on the gag - rebellious teenager phase and such. However, there were at least two instances where it was something different.”
“They truly meant harm? Breaking our truce is not something dragons take lightly...our peace is threatened by that.”
“Ah, not exactly. It’s more a case of a dragon and a royal taking a, ah, special interest in each other. It’s quite something to see a princess and dragon declare a love for each other, in the most emphatic tones I’ve ever heard...the king was furious about it, but I simply won’t break a pair who is genuine about their affections. Of course, that was less a sight than the time I caught them in flagrante delicto...”
“My word...I’m no stranger to dragons partaking in carnal acts with humans, but I’d be rather shocked to see one doing such things with a kidnapped princess.”
“Mm, it wasn’t quite like that,” Verdin said with a sly smile. “This particular dragon happened to be more of the prince persuasion.”
The expression that appeared on Calagris’s face rather reminded Verdin of the expression on that particular dragon at the moment of his appearance. “I...don’t really know what to say, erm, about that. I...can’t claim it common practice among us…”
“You can rest easy, Calagris. I’m a fancier of men myself, and I reject all that rubbish from the religious leaders about sinfulness and such. You needn’t worry that I’m going to go all knight templar on you for your preferences.”
“Well, that’s good to know. Though you seem to presume a lot, I never once mentioned myself.”
“Your reaction was all I needed. Few dragons would be so unnerved by such a mention if they were not themselves guilty of such affections. But yes, it is held in low esteem among many humans, though I can say with confidence that there are a great many more who harbor such desires than the pious would care to admit. The prince was especially burdened, as his father had the expectation of marrying him and getting an heir from him, and wouldn’t hear from him that that didn’t suit his preferences. I ended up letting them fly off and telling the king they were gone before I arrived...I’m sure they are still enjoying each other’s delights.”
“It’s refreshing to learn that you weren’t scandalized by the idea.”
“Scandalized? Hell, I was jealous. Wouldn’t have minded a go myself.”
“Indeed?” Calagris seemed quite interested in this new information. “That surprises me...I figured that few humans had such interests, and fewer warriors of such caliber as yourself. Even those preferring males, I would imagine them enjoying the exertion of their power and will on another.”
“The more brutish among us, perhaps. But I have no desire for such things...in fact, I find humans in general rather unappealing. My desires tend towards larger and stronger creatures...and, I confess, often of the scaled variety.”
“Then you have lain with dragons before?”
“Not dragons, no, but with a brace of Kannok lizardfolk...not at the same time, but over time.”
“My...they’re among the larger of the tribes.”
“And quite fun, let me tell you. I also have had occasional experience with ophidians and gatorfolk, as well as some lizardfolk of slightly smaller form. And encounters with non-scaled creatures are not unheard of, either.”
Calagris nodded thoughtfully. “I see...you would have no objections to an advance by a dragon, then?”
Verdin grinned knowingly up at the black dragon. “Why, are you extending such an advance?”
“Perhaps. The storm rages wild outside, so you are unlikely to be taking your leave any time soon. I haven’t had much action myself recently, and I find you both attractive and interesting, certainly capable of stirring my loins. Should I entice the same response in you, well, I see no reason for us not to indulge ourselves.”
“Now that’s an argument I can find no opposition to. I would certainly take you up on that offer.”
The dragon’s eyes lit up, his excitement clear to the warrior. “Splendid! I assure you, you will not regret this...then, shall we retire to my bedchambers? No doubt it will be more comfortable than any place here.”
“Sounds good to me. Lead the way.”
A couple minutes later, the two of them were within the deepest part of the cave, the area where Calagris slept. In terms of bedding, it was far from what Verdin was familiar with, a thick mat of foliage woven together in a particular way, such that it provided a fair degree of cushioning. Certainly not like the beds he’d seen in palaces, but it couldn’t be worse than an inn mat, and doubtless it was more comfortable than bare rock or ground, which he had had more than his share of experience with.
“I hope you’ll find it to your liking,” Calagris said, though his voice suggested his mind was far from on the quality of his accommodations. Not that he needed a vocal cue to betray that, his considerable endowment was already protruding from his slit, long and thick, dripping with natural fluids, with a larger bulge near the base.
“If I notice, I’m sure I will.” Verdin hardly blamed him - he too was more interested in the coming acts. He’d already stripped off his clothing and left it behind in the main room, leaving him no more covered than Calagris was, and his excitement was well obvious to anyone who might see him. It was a bold display of trust towards the dragon, as for all his strength and battle prowess, he was in no way a match for him with all else stripped away. But Verdin wasn’t worried at all at the moment - if Calagris had wanted to do harm to him he could have done so at any time so far, and he hadn’t even suggested a hint of malice.
“Well, if there is any trouble, I’m sure I can conjure something up to make it better. Speaking of conjurations, are you going to be all right? I’m certain that I’m rather larger than a human would typically be able to handle...and it wouldn’t be a very fun romp to leave you in great pain…”
“Your concern would be well-founded, if I were anyone else. Certainly, this…” Verdin reached out and rubbed the enormous dragon dick, feeling its weight and heat in his hand. Though he hadn’t ever been with a dragon before, he’d expected something roughly this size based on his encounters with other scaled folk. “This is not something that a human is equipped to take. But when I learned how my tastes lay, I knew it that I would have to do something to allow myself to handle their larger tools. I had a rather complex enchantment put on myself that would allow me to take creatures much larger than normal, without any risk of pain or damage.”
“My...that’s a rather difficult piece of eromancy. It must have been expensive.”
“A fair bit, but I’d gotten rather quite a bit of spoils from clearing a dungeon where a group of sorcerers were planning to plunge a kingdom into total darkness. I was in the mood to treat myself after that, for sure.”
“Good, good...I’m rather glad to hear it, I should have suspected you had already arranged things to your advantage. Well then, we can get going right away!”
“It really has been a while for you, hasn’t it?” Calagris looked a bit embarrassed at that remark, realizing how pushy he sounded, but Verdin didn’t seem bothered by it. Without further ado, the human climbed onto the leafy bedding, raising himself onto his hands and knees and baring his rear to the dragon. Positioned the way he was, he was at a much better height to be taken by Calagris, as close to ideal as they were going to get. “Then I shouldn’t be keeping you waiting any longer. Give it to me as hard as you can, I enjoy it most when it’s at its rawest and most carnal.”
“Just like a warrior, hm? Don’t worry, I’m more than happy to play it that way.” Calagris stepped up and leaned over Verdin, large clawed hands grasping the human’s and keeping them held firmly in place. His slick cock rubbed against Verdin’s back and ass, dripping fluid onto them as he lined himself up...his growled lustily as he felt the tip catch on the human’s hole, sinking in it just a bit to ensure he was in place. As soon as he felt it was secure, he went all in, driving with animal force and burying his entire shaft into the human up to his swollen knot.
“Gods!” Verdin had taken quite a bit in the past, but nothing had stretched him out like the dragon had. He was huge, the biggest thing he’d ever taken, but the spell had done its trick just as it always had, and he felt nothing but a fantastic cascade of pleasure rush through him as he body accepted it without incident. He always loved the stretch, it was the thing that got to him more than anything, and Calagris provided him that in spades, enough that he could see the bulge of the cock inside him.
Such stretching was watched by the insane tightness Calagris was feeling around his dick, a grip unmatched by his past experience. Then again, he’d never had a creature as small as a human, either, and though this was no small human, it was still much less than a dragon usually had. Now he could understand why some dragons might swing that way - if it felt this good, so tight and warm around him, such potent stimulation around his organ, how could he refuse? Much as he wanted to leave it wrapped around him, though, his body was primed for action, and he began jerking out and slamming in, giving it to Verdin hard and rough just as he had requested. “Grrrgh...fuck, you feel so good…”
“You too!” It almost felt like Calagris was all around him, the dragon was so big and his presence so imposing as he got to rutting him. The force of his dick impaling him was rocking him, sending surges of pleasure through his body that simply kept building off of each other. He was pushing back against Calagris with every thrust, trying to add to the intensity, though his contribution was minimal, just a drop in the bucket next to what the dragon could do to him. Not that he minded, that was part of the thrill that drew him to inhuman creatures, the physical dominance they displayed...they were more willing to get rough, wild, and after a life like his, that was the only thing that could do it for him. Being the conqueror held little thrill for him, there was just so much more intensity in being conquered, or at least feeling something much like that.
And Calagris was a hell of a conqueror, using his body without restraint, pounding him over and over without any sign of slowing. The dragon’s cock leaked liberally into him, smoothing his thrusts and making Verdin’s ass feel even less resistant to his entry. Every time ho drove in, he felt his knot slam against the hole, that entry still being fought against much to Calagris’s delight. It spurred him to go harder, to try to achieve that last bit of action he needed to reach his climax, pulling Verdin against him harder to increase the pressure even more.
Slowly, Verdin’s body gave in further, the knot getting a little more traction every time Calagris slammed in. Both of them were letting out deep moans, Calagris’s shaking the human’s body with the rumbles, inching closer to their limits every second...Verdin was barely holding back, he didn’t want to blow without that knot getting inside him, but it wasn’t going to happen soon enough unless he acted. At the last moment, he braced himself against the dragon’s arms an, as he thrust in, shoved back as hard as he could. Finally, his hole gave way, the knot ramming into him roughly and giving him an even more furious stretch, the bulge in his gut getting bigger than ever.
The effect was immediate on both of them. Calagris roared out loudly as his knot was enveloped, instantly taking him to his climax, gluts of thick dragoncum barreling deep into Verdin’s guts. Verdin had been on the verge already and was finally able to let go, his own climax hitting hard, a tremendous rush matching the intensity of their encounter, though his yells were dwarfed in volume by the dragon’s reverberating roar. Everything he shot onto the foliage under him was matched tenfold by what was being deposited in him, the fluid going ever deeper as it was denied any exit by the massive knot blocking passage through his hole. The bulge in his body grew steadily, swelling his gut out as all the prepared space was taken up; it was a literal flood within him, and it felt so incredibly satisfying, even more than the expulsion of his own seed did. He held tight onto Calagris as the dragon held tight to him, not daring to move so much as an inch until the dragon could fill him no more.
Still held fast by the knot, Verdin could not move away from Calagris, and could only relax in the dragon’s arms as he shifted to his side, almost wrapping around the human. Both were drawing great heaving breaths, trying to recover their energy after the wild rush of carnal fury. Calagris seemed in better shape than Verdin, who was packed full enough that he looked less a warrior than a decadent noble, a considerable girth in his waistline that the dragon’s clawed hand rubbed absently. “Seems like you’re a bit full there, Verdin.”
“Mm...a bit, I’d say.” Verdin wasn’t that bothered by it - it wasn’t uncomfortable, in fact the same kind of enjoyable stretch he always sought in these encounters, though this was going to last quite a bit longer. Thankfully, there was no concern about it ruining his figure in the long term - the same enchantment that allowed him to take such large cocks ensured he would always return to normal afterwards. “That was quite the rush...I’ve never been knotted before, it was something I’ve heard about but never had the chance at. How long will it stay like this?”
“Hm, I’d say probably long enough for us to get our energy back for round two,” Calagris replied with a hint of cheekiness.
“Good, I’d hate to miss out on that.”
