The loss of hope: a fateful night

A story I wrote while depressed! though close to the end I became a bit happier and tried to cheer up some stuff (though I intentionally made the story as depressing as possible)

Why did I write this? because I wanted to vent by writing something that was sad and depressing, so, I can get everything in my head which is like that, and put something into a story. of course, I didn't think this was going to happen to me irl, but I still wrote something which helped relieve my depression!

sorry for whoever reads this and gets depressed, but this helps me not think bad things :3

i hope you enjoyed nonetheless, and constructive criticism is welcome!

Lissandra roamed fast through the forest, the leopard moved swiftly through the snow covered ground and past the tall oak trees, careful not to trip on roots or anything else that littered the ground. she didn't know what it was, but an abnormal heat radiated from the forest this late night, something she wasn't familar with. her ears flicked under the thick hood she were, her body covered a large hooded robe, and some cloth beneath it.

her fur wasn't the thickest, and she surprisingly couldn't handle the cold very well, though her ability to feel heat from quite far away helped in the worst of times. she continued running, her tail flicking around behind herself as she ran. where did she run? to her village, which she had lived at for some time. this night was normal for the most part, but something was off...she could feel it.

Her pace only quickened the more she neared her home, soon miss placing her foot, and came tumbling down the hill in front of her. spinning continuously, hitting roots, bushes, rocks, etc on her way down, before she came to a sudden and painful hault. her hissing her displeasure as she made it back to her feet, her ears flicking a bit uncomfortably. she was bleeding; on her leg, a branch had impelled it. she gulped, her eyes tearing up at the site. though a loud bang quickly made her switch her gaze to the mountain ahead. she saw a bright color coming from behind the mountain, where her village is at! she gulped. and got up, adrinaline making her forget all about the stick within her leg.

she started slowly making her way up the next hill, each step even more painful than the other. she thought about removing the stick, but that wouldn't help, it would probably make things worse. she soon reached the top of the hill, and she immediately froze at the site...her village...in flames. towers toppled over, houses burnt to ashe, people being killed by these...Humans!

her ears pinned back against her head, and she fell to her knees, the pain she felt soon faded. as her heart shattered. she watched as the humans ransacked the village. and shot, stabbed and killed everyone they found. she heard one of the men yell "Die, bitches!" Before she heard shots fired.

her eyes teared up even more, and she could hardly breath when she spotted one of her family members, slowly crawling from a burning house. her heart leaped at the sight, but before she could even react, a man with a large coat, walked over and shot him in the head.

her heart stopped...and she soon fell to her hands and knees. she just witnessed her brother's death...and was useless in saving them. she didn't know what to do. she just sat there...staring at the ground. tears falling from her face and hitting the snow, which was already drenched in the blood from her wound.

life seemed to pause for her. she just stopped thinking, closed her eyes, and held her breath. trying to wake up from this horrific dream she was having...1...2...3...She counted slowly, before opening her eyes, and nothing changed, everything was the same...she looked up and saw someone approaching her, rifle in hand

"eh sir, we got a bitch up here, she seems to be hiding."

"Kill her, she's just a fucking animal."

"ey sir, that she is." he readied the rifle, and took aim at the leopard, smirking as he did so "Sweet dreams, bitch."

Her ears flicked, and her once sad facial expression turned to that of anger and hatred. she pulled her robe off, through it at the unexpecting human, and when he was busy removing the cloth, she pounced.

She slammed him into the snow below, he punched, kicked and swung his arms in protest, yelling for help as he did so. but before he could get her off, she slit his throat, letting him slowly die. before she put her robe over her shoulders, grabbed the rifle, and took off towards the woods.

shots were fired from behind, but she didn't care, every shot that neared her, missed. she soon stopped, and started to climb a tree, sitting in it as she caught her breath. her once bright fur stained with blood. and her face showed anger and hatred, which was unlike her...she heard foot steps, and yells as men followed the trail of blood she left behind from her leg wound. and soon they were under her.

she stopped breathing and slowly moved into a better position, watching the men as they looked and searched for her. there were 4 of them. all in these strange coats, and each but one bearing a rifle, the 4th man having a revolver, and he wore a cowboy hat.

"Hmm, here, little kitty, I won't hurt you." The man with the revolver spoke with a smirk, and tipped his hat down a bit, placing a hand on his revolver which still laid within its holster, and turned to the tree.

"Hmm...the smell of blood doesn't go with your own scent, kitty. you should take a bath." He laughed, and pulled his revolver quickly, aiming right into her own gun's barrel, as she aimed it right down at his gun.

"Well, shoot. it seems we have a draw, kitty cat. but don't worry, i know how to settle a draw." He smirked, and fired his gun, busting up the barrel of her gun. the sudden sound made her throw the gun, and she fell back out of the tree, landing on the ground with a loud thud, the air forcing it's way out of her lungs at the impact.

"Works every time." He laughed and placed his revolver back into its holster. he soon grabbed a cigar, and lit it, before putting it in between his lips, and taking a deep breath. puffing out the smoke from his lungs with a sigh.

"men, take a break, i don't need you hear."

"No can do, sir, we have our orders, now we will follow them." The man aimed his rifle at the feline and grinned, pulling the trigger.

before the bullet was fired, the man in the hat smacked the gun down with a simple move of his arm, causing the bullet to root itself into the ground. he laughed, and looked at the ground, his long hair blowing in the cool win.

"back off, private, or i will have you executed."

"ahh....we should listen." the men slowly departed back to the burning village, leaving the feline and the captain of their squad in peace.

"I know how you feel, kitty, th~"

"FUCK YOU! I'LL HAVE YOU ALL CHOPPED UP AND COOKED FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!"

"now now, I know you're sad, but what's done is done...we can't fix these problems, that's life for you, eh? now, I have a proposal for you, darling, if you wanna hear it."

"m-my family...was killed...I saw it...it was horrible..." she started crying, and just rolled to her side, her ears pinning against her head, and her tail flicked and twitched behind herself.

"I see, and understand. but life is what it is, our commanding officer told us to do this, we have~or had, no saying in it. but if you listen to me right now, you will have your revenge."

"I don't care...i wanna die..."

"Very well, a good death to you, m'lady" He sighed, pulling his revolver out and aiming it at her, smirking and giving off a subtle laugh, before placing his finger on the trigger.

"No...wait...i didn't mean that! please don't shoot...."

"Hahaha! such an annoying pest. too bad you're going through so much...you seem like a fun girl. now, about my deal, you will have your revenge, as long as I get something in return."

"you will not fuck me for my revenge."

"eh, now, i never said that, little kitty. now, shall i carry you somewhere safer? we can talk there, you are probably wondering why i am helping you in the first place." He smirked, placing his revolver back onto his hip and then walking over to pick up the female, minding the current state she were in and trying to as gentle and embracing as possible, without actually saying anything.

he carried her slowly, her eyes remaining shut, as she soon blacked out over what had happened. he didn't blame her, she must have felt depressed beyond belief, he actually felt guilty not killing her, but he did what she wanted.

he soon made it quite far from the village, he had passed over multiple hills, and continued his journey to his hidden hut. he walked slowly, stepping over branches and rocks, as tripping would not be good for the girl he carried. he soon passed a small clearing, and entered a thick, massive forest. enterting it with ease, and continuing his walk.

where was he going? he wasn't too sure, he lived around here somewhere...but the actual location he was searching for was quite hard to find within these trees. he walked for a few more long, tiring hours. before he finally found the destination; a small, but rather cozy looking hut in the forest. he walked up the wooden steps, his boots making loud thuds as he walked. he opened the door, walked into the very warm and cozy shack, and went to place the female on his bed.

he got to work. grabbing tools he needed to help her with, bandages, cleaning supplies and antibiotics. before he went over and took the female's clothes off. he sighed, seeing her nude form was quite awkward for him, but he showed no emotion in his facial expression. he just got to work. cleaning her leg, cutting off an end of the stick and removing the other half slowly, before slowy and gently cleaning the wound, grabbed a bandage, put antibiotics on it, and wrapped it formly around the wound.

once done there, he grabbed a rag, soap and some cleaning supplies, and got to work on cleaning her fur. washing off all the blood, dirt and whatever else that stuck to her fur, before drying her off. him shivering every time he neared her privates. once done with his fine handiwork, he gulped, taking his hat off, and putting it on her head, revealing his long, dark black hair. he sighed, and got onto his feet. turning to leave, but first, he covered her up with a blanket. and left the shack to get some food.

Hours passed and she hadn't woken up. the human soon returned, and seeing as she was still out-cold, he put the deer he caught out in a large metal box on his porch for no animals to steal, and entered his home. he got cleaned up, out of his large clothes and into more comfortable clothes, and went to lay on his couch. soon falling asleep, not helping but think about the feline he helped.
