Sorry for the scattered uploading everyone! I have been very busy, and haven't had time to write. But here is a short story I've been keeping to myself. Should only be two parts, but like I keep saying, a story is only as long or as short as it wants to be. Thank you for all the support, and special thanks to Neshoba, and Burnwolf for all their continuous support! I hope you all enjoy, and please, Vote, and Comment. Any kind of constructive criticism is helpful for me!

Cheers!

Who are you? Part:1

A Short Story by: Vergennes

Clay had become one of the most successful singers in the world when he was younger. As a prepubescent wolf with grey stylish hair and eyes colored like galaxies, the younger crowd fell in love with his looks and his voice. As he grew older, his fur grew longer and his voice deepened, into a sultry tenor. The audience that had loved him as children, now loved him as teenagers and adults. His songs grew more and more popular for their lyrics about love and compassion as he continued to rise to fame throughout his teenage and young adult years. After his success at the top of the charts, Clay's name slowly faded as he got older.

Now a middle-aged wolf, sitting alone on a stool at a bar drinking glassfuls of liquor, his name was all but forgotten. His eyes no longer shone with the brightness they once did, and his beloved good looks had faded, a past memory. His fur stood at odd ends and no longer well groomed, and his voice was husky and broken after years of continuous concerts and singing.

"Barkeep...another please." The wolf said, raising the empty shot glass and eyeing the Badger behind the bar.

"You okay, Clay? You're drinking more than usual tonight." The badger said as he took the wolf's glass and put it next to the sink, replacing it with another full one.

"Yeah. Just forgetting old memories tonight, Scott." Clay replied, staring at his reflection in the glass of brownish gold liquid.

"Alright, but it's almost closing time and you're the only one left. You know what time it is?" Scott asked, washing the previous shot glass and drying it with a towel.

"Ten?" The wolf asked, pulling a random number out of his head as he drunkenly raised the glass to his muzzle and gulped the shot of liquor quickly. Some dribbling down his chin and staining the collar of his, used-to-be-nice polo.

"I think you've had enough for tonight. And no..." Scott laughs, taking the glass and washing it as well. "It's two o'clock in the morning. We're supposed to be closed now."

"Ah damn. Come on, Scott. You used to listen to my songs right? You've been my friend for years! You were my roommate in college! Can you imagine what I'm going through for one minute?" Clay asks as he leans forward in his stool and grabs the Badger by the sleeve.

"Yeah. Right. You have a lot more money than what I'll ever make working here." Scott replies, scoffing at the drunk has-been wolf.

"Some... friend you are." Clay mutters, resting his forehead on the bar and closing his eyes as Scott pulls his arm free from the grey-wolfs grasp.

"Hey! No sleeping here, Clay. I'm closing up!" The Badger calls as he walks around the bar and turns off the lights one by one.

"Okay... I'll just...Go." The wolf says, sliding off the barstool and taking a couple of awkward steps towards the door before having to steady himself by leaning on the bar with an arm.

"Woah. Okay, buddy. I'll take you home." Scott says, turning off the final light and running over to support Clay.

Wrapping the wolf's arm around his shoulders and carrying some of his friend's weight, they make their way to the door.

"I'm...fine! Ge'er off me." Clay said, pushing the badgers muzzle with a paw.

Refusing to budge and letting his friends hand explore his muzzle while it weakly pushes against him, Scott reaches into his pocket, pulls out his keys, and unlocks the car door.

"Okay, Clay, let's get you in the car..." Scott groans as he maneuvers the drunk wolf into the passenger side of his car, and closes the door.

Letting out a deep breath, Scott leans on his car and looks up to the sky, panting from carrying the heavy wolf.

"Why do I have to take care of this guy weekend after weekend?" The badger groans as he walks around the front of his car and opens his door. Getting in and sitting next to Clay, the badger inserts his keys, and starts the car.

"I can drive myself home...Scott...I'm fine." Clay says, fumbling with the door handle as the badger starts to back up and exits the parking lot, driving the wolf back home.

"No you don't. You can get your car tomorrow." Scott replies, clicking the door lock button and keeping his drunk friend from tumbling out.

"Ah, come on...no one knows who I am anymore...Not like they would miss me..." Clay huffs, crossing his arms and leaning back into the passenger seat, closing his eyes.

"Well...I would miss you." Scott says under his breath, his ears flattening and his face going red, blushing with embarrassment. Looking over at Clay after a minute of silence, the badger scoffs as he turns down the wolf's street. Clay had fallen asleep.

Pulling into the wolf's driveway, Scotts jaw drops.

"Oh my god." He says under his breath.

The driveway circled up to the entrance way around a high shooting fountain, lit up with LED lights, revealing pillars twenty feet high, forming an arch above the rather large wooden double doors. Stained glass windows lined the sides of the large door frame, and the house expanded farther to the left and right than any other the badger had ever seen.

"I guess this is the life of a former, singing sensation..." The badger sighs as he parks his car in front of the large arch and gets out.

Walking around and opening the passenger door, Scott reaches around Clay's waist and undoes the sleeping wolf's seatbelt. He then wraps one arm under his friend's legs, the other around his back, and lifts him up. Carefully, the badger carries his drunk friend up the white stone steps and stops at the door.

"Shit."

He had no way in. Sighing, the badger shifts his hold on the wolf's back so that his paw is closer to his friend's pocket.

"Why does everything have to be difficult for me?" The badger grunts as he thrusts his paw into Clay's jeans pocket.

"Got em!" Scott grunts, pulling the keys out with difficulty.

"Okay." The badger leans forward, inserts the key into the door lock and turns it. Spinning and pressing his back against the door, the badger leans and opens the entrance way, quietly slipping inside. Taking great care to make sure he doesn't bump his friend on the doorframe.

A golden chandelier hung high above the dark wooden floor, illuminating the interior with a golden light. The walls were pure white, and the living room on his left was decorated with fine leather sofas and a large screen television. A large stone fireplace blazed a gorgeously orange fire underneath the expensive television. The kitchen on his right had designer cupboards and cabinets, wrapping around the entirety of the cooking space.

Whistling under his breath, in awe of the beautiful house, Scott walks towards the set of stairs that he was certain led to the bedrooms. Slow and careful, the badger heaves his friend up the stairs with great effort and pants softly.

Panting heavily at the top of the stairs, Scott turns down a picture framed hallway. All of the photos were of a young wolf standing in front of a microphone, performing on stage in front of a crowd or audience of thousands of people, obviously singing. Nudging a door open with his foot, Scott walks into the first room and enters a luxurious master bedroom. More photos of the young wolf hung on the walls, surrounding the room. A walk in closet opposite of the door was filled with luxurious shirts and pants, packing the open drawers and hangers. The bed was sitting in the middle of the room, with more than enough space for three people to lay on it comfortably. On the bedside nightstand, another picture of the young wolf, obviously a little older, stood alone. But this one was different. Walking over to the extravagant bed and laying the passed out wolf on his side, the badger picks up the strange looking photo, inspecting it further.

It was a picture of Clay standing with an arm around a badger's waist, laughing together with the other male. Obviously both very happy. Or rather drunk.

"It's...me!" Scott breaths out, blushing furiously. "He's got a picture of us from college next to his bed?" Scott sets the frame back down on the table and looks at the grey-wolf, who had turned and sprawled out on his back, spread eagle across the entire length.

"Why do you have this picture of us when we were roommates?" Scott laughs as he undoes Clay's shirt and tosses it onto the floor. "You spilt liquor all over yourself. God, even your jeans." The badger slowly undoes the button and zipper and pulls the stained pants off of his friend's body, leaving the wolf in a pair of tight briefs. Throwing the long pants onto the floor next to the shirt, Scott blushes furiously as his eyes comb over the grey and white form of his friends almost naked body. Clay wasn't fat, but he wasn't muscular either. Years of drinking away his problems gave the grey-wolf a small gut, but he was still rather muscular and nice to look at. Everything on his torso was white except for his strong belly, forming into a diamond shape from his neck down to his groin. A deep, muscular V formed at his waist and down into the tight briefs. His heart beating fast and pumping in his throat, the badger looks away, embarrassed as he feels himself grow hard at looking at his friend.

Letting out a deep breath, the badger tries to calm himself down, forcing his thoughts to anything but his forming erection in his black bar pants. Giving up on trying to calm himself, Scott resorts to leaving quickly. Reaching down and grabbing the covers and throwing them over the grey-wolf, the badger turns around and quickly walks to the door, keeping a paw on his bulging pants and squeezing lightly.

"Scott." Came a whisper from Clay as the grey wolf kicks off the covers.

"Y-yeah? You okay, Clay?" The badger asks nervously, trying to keep his rather prominent bulge hidden by the door frame as he leans back into the room.

"I'm cold." The wolf stated simply, turning his head and looking at Scott through half-shut eyes.

Scott sighs and walks over to the bed, careful to hide his tenting black bar pants. "What do you want me to do?" The badger asks, sitting on the edge of the bed, his back to the wolf.

"I want you here. No one else knows who I am anymore. They all see a bum, an old wolf whose lost his way. You're the only one who sees me for me, what I used to be. You're all I have left." The wolf says, clambering up and wrapping his arms around the badger's shoulders, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Blushing furiously, Scott flattens his ears and watches his friend carefully and sighs.

"Okay. I'm here for you. But you have to promise me one thing." Scott says, bringing his paw up and caressing the wolf's cheek.

"Anything for you. You're my family now, Scott. I need you." The wolf says, nodding slowly, opening his eyes a little more, focusing on the badger.

"I need you to stop focusing on the past, and stop drinking so much." The badger whispers, staring into the wolve's galaxy like eyes. "I want you to continue your music career. Make a comeback. I believe in you."

"I can't do it. I'm washed up. I'm a-" Clay's emotional reverie was interrupted by a deep kiss by Scott, pressing his muzzle against the wolf's.

"I know you can do it. I love you Clay, and I want you to do this for me." The badger says, blushing furiously, flattening his ears more embarrassed.

Clay's eyes and ears widen and perk. Caught completely off guard by his friend's confession of love.

"You...love me?" He asks, not sure if he heard correctly. Scott nods slowly and looks down at his paws, clasped firmly in his lap.

"I love you to Scott. Thank you for telling me this." Clay leans in and kisses the badger again, softly.

Scott raises his head and his ears perk, his face flushed in shock.

Slowly, the wolf pulls Scott over and under the covers, laying the badger on his side as he drapes his arms around the smaller male's sides, pressing his front tightly against the badger's backside.

"I love you, Scott. Thank you for being here." The wolf whispers, closing his eyes and resting his head on the badger's shoulder.

"I...Love you too." The badger says slowly, not used to saying those three words, especially to his former roommate and best friend for years. Scott closes his eyes, and quickly falls asleep, held tightly in his new lover's arms.
