Viento Awakens

Zach looked at Nik as they sat tied to a tree with their hands over their heads. Nik had looked pissed and tired at the same time. Zach couldn't blame him for being upset after what happened. First he had to help Zach in the future, then he had to use his power to help Zach again, then he got pulled into the past with Zach and was now being held captive by a wolf Tribe.

"I'm sorry Nik." Said Zach looking down at his naked chest

Nik sighed and looked back at him "Don't be you couldn't see this coming am I right. I just didn't think I would be drawn into the portal with you. If I would have known I would have at least taken my weapons with me."

"I'm not sure it would have helped, also your weapons may not have been a good idea in this day in time. Can't you do the portal thing to get us out of here?"

"I have been trying, but for some reason it won't work for me. I can't seem to make the power work at all." Said Nik looking down at his feet

"If I could only get a hold of Viento, then we would be able to get out of this but they put it way over there." Said Zach looking at a small hut filled with weapons

A tall grey wolf walked over and looked at Zach for a long moment then said "You should keep your mouth shut Halfling. We don't like your kind here you know that. Same goes for you Fox."

Nik growled but Zach cut in "You don't know who you're messing with do you?"

The wolf laughed and said "I sure do you're the Demon Knight from the kingdom. The one how has made a name for himself by killing our kind left and right. Also you're a half wolf half fox and work for King Esper. So yes I do know who I'm messing with and you make me sick."

It was Zach's turn to growl this time as he looked at the tall wolf and said "I'm also called something else you know; something your kind fear. I have the markings of The Reaper."

The grey wolf looked a little shocked for a moment then relaxed and said "Well if you where the Reaper I'm sure you could have killed me by now so I don't believe you. I know how your foxy little mind works Mr. Demon Knight so don't try to scare me. Soon our leader will be here and he will decide what to do with you."

"I see; well you'll be shocked when he does get here and he lets me go." Said Zach with a small laugh

"Whatever you say Demon Knight." Said the wolf laughing himself and walking away

Nik looked at Zach and said in a whisper "What is wrong with you...he could have killed you for that."

"He won't. The wolves from this time do what their leader tells them too. I'm not worried...when he gets here and finds out who I am then he'll let me go."

"Why do you say that?"

"He's my father."

Nik looked shocked so Zach started to explain. It didn't take too long for him to tell Nik everything finishing with "So that is how I know we will be safe."

"Yeah but you haven't seen your father since you were a month old so how do you know."

Zach took a moment to answer while he did he looked around taking in the sights of the Tribe and how beautiful it was. The wolves loved nature just like Zach did and they lived with it. They didn't take down trees to make room for their homes and castles. They worked with nature to make their lives more beautiful. Every building was caved or grown in the trees or made from fallen branches. Everything was so beautiful and different from the towns he grew up in, but he loved it.

He finally looked at Nik and said "Well I don't know for sure but we will see what happens."

Nik looked away and sighed again. Zach didn't say anymore for the rest of the night slowly falling into a deep sleep. But the sleep couldn't be enjoyed for too long because soon the grey wolf and three others were undoing there ropes and leading them toward the center of the Tribes small town. They were tied to Poles in the middle of a court yard as everyone surrounded them.

"What's going on?" yelled Nik

"Yeah I thought you were going to show us to your leader." Yelled Zach

The grey wolf smiled and said "He is here and wants to look you over."

"That's right I do." Came a strong voice from behind the crowd. They all moved away to make room for a tall white wolf. He had no shirt on and his markings look different from Zach's. His were in the shape of what looked like a Snow flake with small wisps of blackness moving away from it. They didn't cover his body like Len had told Zach but still he knew who this wolf was. He was none other than James Zap McVanson aka The leader of the free wolves.

"So I see the leader himself has come to see this Knight of the king." Said Zach

Nik looked at Zach with horror and said "Don't make this worse."

"Quiet you two so I may talk." Said the leader "Yes young Zach The Demon Knight I have come to see you but that is to make sure you were alive like they say. From what I was told you were killed by the wizard Xelna over a year ago."

Zach's smile vanished for a moment then he said "I have been gone a year."

"Yes a year, but seeing how Xelna couldn't kill you then I'll let my wolves take care of it for me." said Zap turing to leave then saying "You may kill him."

"Wait a moment Leader you can't kill me."

"And why not?" said Zap not turning back to face him

"I'm your son." Yelled Zach anger in his eyes

The Leader turned and looked back at Zach for a long moment then he said "I don't have a son." Then he started to walk away as two wolves moved closer with daggers in their hands

"Nice going Zach now I have to die in a place like this." Said Nik looking pissed and trying to pull out of his ties

"NO...YOU CAN'T DO THIS...NOOOOO." Yelled Zach as the wolves raised their daggers

Right before they were about to hit him everything stopped. Zach looked around trying to see what was going on. Then something with a deep voice spoke inside his head. "Master do you wish not to die?"

Zach jumped and said "No I don't want to die...he's my father why is he doing this to me."

"You have to show him who you are by fighting him master."

"Who are you?" said Zach looking around for the source of the voice

"It is I...Viento your sword of the wind. If you want to live then call on me and use my power."

"Ok I will but how."

"If you want my full power you have to let me join with your body and power. You will make me your only Weapon and your partner for life. That is the contract I will have with you master. Is it a deal?" said Viento

"Yes it is." Said Zach and right then everything started to move again and before the wolves could attack Zach smiled again "Viento come to me."

There was a loud whoosh of air then a thud. The two blades had flown through the air and cut the ropes holding Nik and Zach. They both jumped out of the way of the daggers then jumped to their feet. Zach took hold of both blades and this time he felt life running through them and power. He smiled as he now knew what Raven had meant by "Is your weapon a male or female?" he was asking what the soul of his blade was.

Zach laughed and joined the swords together making them one and he looked at the crowed of wolves and said "Fine you want to kill me then you'll have to do it the hard way. Nik get a weapon and help me out."

Nik had already attacked one wolf and took the sword he had. He looked over at Zach and said "Now this is more like it."

"I see you have awakened your sword Zach well done." Said the Leader putting his hand up in the air. Ice started to form over him then a staff formed in his hand. It was long and blue with a big blade on the end. He twirled it around, small bits of cold air flowed off the end of it. Then he brought it down in a long arc holding it with his hands and smiling, "Well now Demon Knight let me see what you got." And to his followers he said "Stand down I'll deal with him, you can take care of his friend."

Nik smiled and started to attack anyone he could reach yelling to Zach "You deal with him I got the others."

Zach felt the power of Viento flowing through him and the slight feeling to kill this wolf in front of him. He shook his head and tried to push the feeling away as he looked at the wolf leader Zap. He spun the double ended sword around like his father then he took a ready stance.

"Aren't you going to show me that power of yours Zach?" said the leader

"Why should I...I can take you down without them." Said Zach

"Well I hope you don't mind if I use mine." Said the leader then his markings turned blue and he attacked quicker than Zach thought was possible

He blocked the long staff with only a second to spare, but Zap just laughed and jumped back attacking again. Zach had to move quickly dodging blow after blow from the long staff blade. Zap smiled and continued to attack, each move getting stronger and stronger. Zach started to see small ice crystals forming on Viento and he knew that he had to attack back soon.

"You fool you need to use me...Call my name out again and I'll show you my true power." Said Viento inside his head

Zach dodged another blow and attacked slashing at Zap as fast as he could. The leader was surprised at the attack and jumped out of the way. When Zap landed he twisted his staff around and pointed the blade end at Zach. A blue beam shot out of it toward Zach. He dodged it in the nick of time. It hit a tree leaving it frozen solid.

"Hahaha...Zach you fool. You can't beat me this way. My power is strong and not one you want to try and mess with. If you want to beat me then you'll need to use your power." Said Zap

"I won't use it or Viento's full power...I don't need to." Yelled Zach but he jumped away as he talked because Zap had shot another ice beam at him.

"Then you'll die."

"Use my power now Zach you need to." Said Viento

Zach growled and ignored his sword as he pulled on the blades wind power and started to slash at the air sending small bits of razor sharp air at Zap. He dodged them and attacked back this time using his blade to make large Ice patches appear in every spot the blade hit. The two went at it for a good half an hour using attack after attack. While they fought Nik was going after the wolves taking one by one down, but he didn't kill them.

Nik found that he may not be able to use his portal power but he could still make a Sonic Boom. He used this to his advantage shooting waves of sonic energy toward his attackers. Zach was finding it harder and harder to bring down the Leader and his ice power. He was panting now and his body full of cuts and frozen spots on his fur. He knew that he couldn't beat him like this.

"You have to use my power Zach if you don't you'll die." Said Viento again "Now do as I say and use me to the fullest."

"Fine then I'll do it." said Zach jumping high into the air and yelled out "VIENTO lend me your power."

Zap jumped back as a blast of energy filled the air around them. Darkness seemed to start to flow from Viento to Zach. Zach grinned as he felt immense power filling his body like water. He laughed and attacked moving so fast that he looked like a blur. Viento soared through the air with an evil hiss and Zach knew that he won. There was no way anyone could dodge an attack this fast.

He was wrong however. Zap raised his staff blade and blocked Viento with less than a second to spare. A loud howl filled the clearing as air rushed from Viento showing his rage at being blocked. Nik and the other wolves stopped their fighting and moved back to watch the two go at it. Zach attacked again this time aiming for Zaps left side but he found his way blocked again.

Zap laughed at Zach as they fought, blocking every blow that Zach could come up with but at the same time not attacking back. He was playing with Zach like he was a toy and that angered the Wolfox more. Every blow became more powerful until the others had to move back a good 2000 feet to keep away from the blasts of Air and ice that were flying off the two blades.

After what seemed like hours Zap yawned and jumped back holding his blade down and saying "I'm tired of this game it's time for you to die." And he moved fast going around Viento's blade and he ran the end of his blade into Zach's belly. Zach howled in pain and dropped down as he felt the blade go through him. Blood started to flow from his mouth and pain filled his body and mind. It was over...he had lost to his own father who didn't even know who he was.

"You see only my true son could have best me in battle and no one else. So Demon Knight it was fun, but you lost." Said Zap raising his staff sword over his head ready to take off Zach's head

He closed his eyes ready for death to take him..."Are you really going to go down like this or will you let our two powers join?" said Viento

"I...Don't want to die." He said

"Then let's show him who we are even if he is killed by your hands." Said Viento

"Let's do it them partner." Said Zach

It happened fast and with no warning. A blast of black energy burst out from his body pushing Zap back. The power of the Reaper filled his soul and body. His markings grew gold and his fur black as his eyes glowed. His white tail's Tip turned black and his black one white. From his back came the large wings that filled the clearing with an evil beauty. Zach could feel the blood lust filing his heart but he held it back. He smiled and said in a voice that didn't sound like him "Power of the wind and god of that power Viento lend me your strength."

With that said Viento's blades turned black as the night sky and markings like Zach's showed up on the side of it. A dark glow was coming off it along with a moan that made everyone's fur stand on end. The blood that had been flowing from his belly before was gone and so was the wound. Zach smiled again as he felt more power filling him and he held his sword ready to take down his father.

"If you want to play like that then fine....Power and queen of the ice and the land give me your strength ICENA." Yelled Zap and a blast of cold air surrounded him and his fur turned blue and his markings glowed bright white as they expanded over his body. The staff blade didn't change like Viento did but it gave off a shine that could blind you if you looked right at it. Zaps eyes had a light blue light in them now and power came from him like it did for Zach.

"I'll show you why I'm called the Demon Knight." Said Zach and he vanished reappearing behind Zap a second later his blade moving fast.

Zap jumped out of the way in the nick of time. The blade hit the ground and an explosion of air burst out making the wolves and even Nik run from it. Zap attacked next but found his blade blocked by Viento. The air was filled with ice and air as the two fought, every hit of their weapons sending off waves of energy that could take down a tree.

The fighting seemed to go on forever and with every attack they took a little more of the forest with them. They had moved out of the village and were now in a large field. Zach took his chance and jumped into the air using is wings to flying high and out of Zaps reach...or so he thought. The wolf twisted his staff over his head the slashed at the air sending ice spikes at him. He dodged them and pulled at his power sending a large blast of energy back at Zap. This time Zap tried to block it but Zach was to powerful and the blast exploded and sent Zap flying.

Zach let out a long and evil laugh and he took Viento in both hands and dove towards the stunned wolf. He was going to run him through with Viento and put an end to this once and for all. He was going to take down the wolf that had left him to be raised by the Kingdom. He was going to show this wolf how much pain he had caused him by letting him think he was an orphan. He was going to watch him die and pay for what he had put him through over the years.

He was just about to hit when a ball of fire came out of nowhere and hit him on the side sending him flying. Zach hit the ground hard and felt his right arm scream in pain as it burned. The pain vanished quickly as his arm healed but it still angered him. He looked up to see who attacked him and saw in the distance a tall white wolf with fire red markings covering her body. He couldn't move when he saw her, all he could do was sit there stunned.

Amy walked over to Zap and made sure he was ok then walked over to Zach and pointed her big sword at him then said "How dare you attack the Leader like that Zach McVanson. Look at you, after a year you still haven't learned anything have you."

He got up and spoke in his demonic voice "Amy it's you...I thought I wouldn't ever see you again. I have so much to tell you."

"KILL HER." Yelled something in his head but Zack closed his eyes and shook it.

Amy ignored this and put down the blade then punched him in the face making him stumble back a bit. Her markings started to go away as tears filled in her eyes "You vanished without telling anyone not even me where you were going. I thought I was your friend or that I meant something to you Zach."

"But I couldn't help it..." he started but she cut him off

"And look at you using your powers like that when you know what they are and what they can do to your mind. How could you do something like that?" She cried then ran off

Zach wanted to go after her but Zap was back on his feet and slowly walking toward him. His staff blade Icena was gone and he looked normal again. The pack he led was forming another circle and Nik had found him too coming up next to Zach to say "You need to calm down and stop this. I don't think they mean us harm anymore."

"He is right son...I know that it is you now and I'm sorry I had to fight you like that, but I had to make sure." Said Zap

"So you believe me now do you?" Yelled Zach pushing Nik aside

Nik jumped in front of him again but Zap said "I knew as soon as I saw you Zach but I was told by Raven that you had the power of the Reaper and I had to make sure he was right. I'm sad to say that he is and you're more powerful than we would have thought. Now can you please calm down and go back to the normal you?"

"Why should I after you left me to the Kingdom, HOW COULD YOU." Yelled Zach his power growing again

Zap looked sad and said "I'm sorry for that son...but I had no choice. If Savage or the kingdom found out about you they would have used you to get to me. I didn't mind if they came after me but I couldn't lose you. For that I'm sorry and I hope you can forgive me for that, but it had to be done."

Anger still filled his heart but Zach let his powers drain away and Viento's too. Soon he stood there looking like his normal self. He knew what Zap was telling him true and he knew he couldn't stay mad. So he said "There...Now I'll be leaving seeing is how you and the kingdom don't want me."

"Wait my son...I want you to stay here and also tell me where you have been for the last year."

Zach wanted to leave but hearing someone call him son felt good so he turned and walked to his father. "I guess. I wonder what they will do with me now that I'm back. I know before that the wolves wanted me to fight for them and bring down the king."

"I don't know Nik I really don't. She means a lot to me but I did vanish for a long time." He said

"Then go to her room and say sorry."

"It's not the easy."

"Why not? Just go to her room make her stay there and tell her your sorry."

"I don't know if I can." Said Zach

Nik smiled and got out of bed and pulled Zach up too. He pulled him out of there tree house room and down the sidewalks that connected them all together. "The leader told me already."

"I'm never sure on anything Nik but we have to try, do we not. Just remember the plan of why you're with me."

"If you're with me you won't have any problems and if you can help them find the Fox tribes I'm sure the King will love to have you." Said Zach as they finally broke free of the forest and found themselves on a stone road on the northern end of Maybell

Nik had been dressed up in the finest cloths the wolves could find. He now looked like a noble from some far off land. They made their way up to the gate that was guarded by two furs. They blocked the way as they approached and the tall one said "What do you want in Maybell today."

Zach smiled as he saw the face of the tall Greyhound and he said "How dare you Speak to me that way Johnson. I go missing for a year and this is the welcome home I get from you my own team."

Johnson looked shocked as he took a long look at Zach then he started to shake as he said "Sir Zach it has been a long time we all thought you were dead."

I have been banished from my tribe and I wish to give your King information on them that will help him dearly. Now move out of my way before I have your commander The Demon Knight as you call him make you move."

Johnson looked at Zach then back at Nik then let him in. They moved on and as they did Zach said "I'm impressed Nik."

Suddenly he was interrupted by a voice that seemed to flow throw the crowd like smoke. The voice was silky and sounded full of hate and something else that could have been evil. The sound of it made Zach's body freeze up as it said "Well said King Esper well said indeed. But tell me this war of yours with the wolves and fox's is that your only enemy?"

"Who is that?" said King Esper as the crowd fell deathly quiet

Out of the crowd walked a Tall Black wolf, but it he was like no wolf Zach had ever seen. His eyes were a grey color and his pupils were red slits, his ears pointed out a little too much, his claws were longer and sharper than that of a normal wolf, and on his fur you could see were red markings. He was warring midnight blue robs and that was all. His smile was wicked and full of hate.

"Don't you know me King Esper? You should even if it has been a long time." Said the black wolf

"Guard arrest the wolf at once." Yelled the King

Four Knights ran forward to grab the wolf but when they got within a few feet of him they stopped. Their eyes filled with shock as blood started to poor from their mouths. They then fell, dead before they even hit the ground. The black wolf smiled and said "Is that any way to treat a guest in your city fare King? Fine if you don't remember me then I'll tell you. I am the one you all call Savage the Dark Shadow of Death."

Zach felt his body go numb as he heard the wolf give his name. This was the wolf who had hunted him as a child and who had killed his mother. Nik tried to take hold of his arm trying to stop him but he was too late. Zach walked out in the middle of the circle and yelled "You Fucking Ass Hole."

Everyone turned and looked in shock as Zach walked slowly toward the black wolf who smiled and said "Well look at this if it isn't the Reaper himself coming to say hello."

King Esper looked shocked himself and said "Zach your still alive."

"I am Esper and I was coming back to see you but now I don't care I have a score to settle with this wolf."

"I see now young wolfox you want to kill me is that it? Well I'm sorry but I came here for one reason and that was to do this." Said Savage and right them his markings glowed and he moved his hand in a chopping motion. As he did Blood sprayed out from the King. He yelled in pain and held the large cut on his chest that was leaking blood all over the place. People screamed and moved away but didn't seem able to run.

Xelna smiled and moved down from the king's box and he walked over to Savage with a smile and said "Master I have been waiting."

"I don't want to hear it right now Xelna. You were told to kill this one a year ago and it seems you failed me."

"Master I'm sorry for that but..."

"No buts Xelna you didn't do as you were told so for that you can stay here and try to kill him again. If you do then you may join me again." Said Savage as he turned to look at Zach. "Reaper I'm sorry but I don't have time to play games. The king will not die I only wanted to show him who was more powerful. Maybe next time Reaper." And with that he vanished.

"Get back here you son of a bitch." Yelled Zach his body shaking from rage

Nik moved forward too and said "Zach we have to leave come on."

As he spoke three Knights moved forward and took the King away. Xelna looked at Zach with murder in his eyes and the only thing Zach could think about was seeing that wolf that had killed his mother leave. Rage filled him as Nik took hold of his arm. He looked at Nik with his eye turning yellow as he said in his demonic Voice "Let go."

"Zach you need to calm down and we have to leave." Said Nik

"That wolf killed my mother and Xelna made me go to a world I didn't know. This Town is filled with people who don't care about my kind, and the King is at war with my kind. They all have to die so GET OFF." He yelled and he threw Nik aside making him fly a good fifty feet away slamming his body into a house and loosing conciseness

"Master let's kill them all." Said Viento in his head

"Yes Viento let us blanket the ground with their blood." said Zack drawing the swords letting his power flow into his blades.

A black ball of energy covered him as his fur changed and his wings came out. Only this time Zach lost all sight of himself and he let his power take him over. He looked at Xelna who was starting to cast a spell but before he could finish it Zach dashed over quicker than any normal fur and he slashed the wizard across the chest. Xelna let out a loud howl of pain and he jumped back blood pooling under him.

"You crazed half breed...I don't have time to put up with you. I'll need to deal with you another time." Said Xelna and even though Savage had told him to try and kill Zach, he used a spell to vanish.

Zach let out a long howl of anger as he saw yet another fur he hated vanish and the King was no were to be seen. Knights started to run toward him there weapons ready to kill. A black energy surrounded his body as he drew on his power. Screams filled the darkening skies as the furs that lived in the Maybell ran. Zach smiled at their fear and he ran off after them.

One by one he covered his swords in the blood of anyone he could get too. The Knights fell quickly so he went after the commoners. No one was safe from his blade or his madness. Males, Females, and even children fell as he attacked and murdered any living thing he saw. He didn't care anymore who they were or what they had done to him or hadn't done all he wanted was to feel his swords run through skin, muscle, and bone. The feel of death made him giddy with happiness.

An evil laugh filled the night sky as he flew into the air and started to fire balls of energy at anyone he could. Fires started and filled the dark sky with smoke and dancing light. As he floated in the air laughing at the destruction he was creating. To him there was nothing that really matter anymore, but the hate within him.

Then a sonic boom hit him in the back making him fall from the sky and hit the ground hard. Nik was standing there his hands and tattoo's glowing as he looked at Nik. Zach rose and started to laugh as he looked at the blue fox. He took his swords and started to feed dark energy into them making them glow with a black light.

"You dare to attack me Fox." Said Zach and he slashed sending a beam of darkness at Nik who dodged it.

"Zach wake up and look at what you're doing." Yelled Nik

"I don't care..."

"You do care think about it, you told me you hate this madness that fills you and the pain if causes. Think about what you are doing and what Amy would think if she saw you like this."

Zach started to laugh again until he heard Amy's name. His eyes went back to normal and he said "Amy?"

"Yes Amy the white wolf I know you love with all your heart. Don't become a monster Zach or you will lose her forever."

"Amy....Lose Amy....I can't Lose Amy." Said Zach with a hint of sadness in his voice.

"Don't listen to him Zach you have to show this town how wrong they are." Said Viento inside his mind

"No...I need Amy...I love her...I...LOVE...HER." Yelled Zach and he dropped the swords and screamed. A blast of Darkness shot out from his body destroying anything in its path. Nik saw this and ran as fast as he could from the black light. He was just fast enough. The blackness stopped right before it caught up with him.

Then everything stopped, Nik looked back and saw Zach standing there in the middle of the destroyed area but he was normal again. Nik started to walk back to him but before he could reach Zach he passed out. Nik ran to his side and held up this head. He could see he was still alive but he was worn out.

"Damn it Zach what the hell was that."

Zach opened his eyes and started to get up saying "We have to leave and get to my house...I need rest...But we can't stay here."

"Zach you're too weak..."

"I don't care we have to go before Esper's Knights come to take us. My place at the south end of town will do for now let's go."

Nik wanted to argue but he knew he was right...They had to go. He helped Zach up and put Viento back into his Sheath and they left. Slowly walking over the dead body's left behind by Zach's Madness...
