PART FIFTY NINE.

W hen lunch time came around Jack had been left along with Lucy as an Audino pushing a trolley with plates of food for the sick patients was pushed down the ward its one squeaky wheel was enough to make every one sick and visiting cringe as if someone was dragging nails down a chalk board. The nurse Pokémon gave a pleasant greeting before taking the Lucario's temperature, her paddle like hand swiftly jotted something down on the clipboard located at the base of the bed. Lifting of the plastic cover off of the plate to find a bowl with what looked like pureed food; it didn't look all that appetising to look at but then again with her body having been without food for who know how long her digestive system needed to be slowly eased back into solid food again. Lucy turned her nose up at the liquefied food in the bowl before her, he couldn't blame her as he wouldn't have fed it to a Swinnub the smell didn't entice her to much either but she was hungry not to mention loving how Jack had started to spoon feed her. Opening her muzzle she forced herself to swallow, at first her stomach wanted to sending back up the way it had come as her gut felt as if it was trying to tie it self-up in a knot but after the fifth spoon full she had buried her face in the bowl and was lapping at the soupish mixture.

“Hey slow down Lucy or you'll give yourself trapped wind"

Lucy stopped straight away despite her stomach demanding she put more inside it, it took a fair amount of will power to start lapping slowly at it at a less manic pace, the Audino winked slowly with that soft cute smile across her face before hurrying of to deliver the other patients their meals. The next few days where relatively the same with the team occupying their time with training on the outside arena behind the Pokémon Centre itself while Jack stayed with the Lucario, by the third day everyone was starting to feel stir crazy if not more than a little ready to get going. Lucy was back on solid food once more something the canine Pokémon was extremely happy about as she waited patiently in the treatment room digitised in the pokémon centres trade machine, since it worked on swapping one set of genetic markers for another as the device transmit Pokémon in digital data from one pokéball to another. In the case of this particular version was designed for use with only one Pokémon, this allowed for a rescued or confiscated pokémon to be re-homed with a more caring, capable owner. The special modified device requires the presence from both a pokémon league representative as well as an officer of the local Police, in this case Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny.

Right now though Lucy was floating about as series of ones'n'zeros as she was run through the machines CPU as little more than sophisticated Software being uploaded from a pokeball hardwired to the device via cables then downloaded into James Heal Ball, looking up the young Trainer found himself looking into Officer Jenny's eyes, she smiled softly to him but her eyes where hard and cold like those who had seen more than any one person should, he found himself having to look away.

“Each one of these are uniquely built by 'Silph Co' for each Pokémon Centres, the activation codes are given only to law enforcement, this in turn prevents criminal elements from being able to miss use them for their own needs."

Jack nodded seeing the sense to this as the procedure came to an end; only the other pad was one of his heal balls, the button at the front flashing as Lucy was transferred into it then with a ping the process was done he was now the proud owner a Lucario.

“It's done, she is all yours, I know you'll take better care of her than her previous owner did"

Joy smiled softly placing the pokéball into Jack hands close them around its spherical form.

“Thank You!"

He whispers gratefully letting Lucy out in a flash of blue light, the Pokémon looked around a little disoriented for a brief second before leaping up at him; throwing her arms around her new trainers neck while her chest pressing in to his without fear of impaling her beloved Human.

“Lucario…Cario..Lu…Cario"

[I could get used to this]

Lucy said happily lapping at his face with her long canine tongue, James laughed softly as he was given a tongue bath; his own hands along the backs of her shoulders trying hard not to bring the Lucario's thick black lips to his own let alone giving her firm haunches a tender squeeze. He could feel the metallic dome pressing through his clothes as her aura glowed brightly around them, Jack could feel her emotions as if they were his own just like some mental link but instead of telepathy it more akin to an empathic conection with her.

“Lu…Cario…Lu?

[Can you feel that?]

She moans tenderly as the reply to her statement came in the form of his lips pressing against her blue haired cheek, if Joy and Jenny hadn't been there she was sure she would have presented herself to her trainer.

“Oh my, she sure is affectionate"

Joy teased in a playfully, after a few more minutes Lucy grudgingly untangled herself from her new master at least that was how most canine Pokémon referred to their trainers as. But her paws found themselves a new home around his arm as if refusing to be separated from him even for a moment. The side of Lucy's canine head began to nuzzle against the side of his elbow as if to emphasis her feelings towards him, James could see problems he would need to address with regards to the rest of the team especially Blaze.

“Let's go find the others Lucy!"

Jack noted softly, he had a rough idea where the four of them would probably be with a quick swallow of air to steal himself he made his way out side to the rear of the Pokémon Centre, Toph was laying on one of the all in one picnic tables sleeping soundly or at least Jack believed she was. He could never quite tell with the Espeon, Next to her laying face up on one the benches was Bunny a half interested expression about her face as Oni and Blaze trained one on one. Bunny was the first to notice as she sat upright swinging her strong shapely legs around so she was facing her Human along his new piece of arm decoration, the Lopunny wasn't so much envious as she was curious to learn the Lucario's secret.

“JACK!"

She calls out more to alert the others of his approach, the early warning acknowledged by the Weavile as she stopped mid kick and left the thick layer of rubber that made up circle; sizable practice zone had been designed to resemble a Pokéball. Jack was all most knocked on to his rump as he staggered back trying to hold the small bundle of fur via her fluffy haunches as her small arms wrapped themselves around his neck. Oni's cheeks rubbed against his face as her scent glands left her mark upon him to reaffirm her ownership.

Jack laughed softly as she began to groom his face with her long rough tongue just for good measures, if she hadn't wrapped her thighs around his chest he was sure he would have dropped her that or he would have had a Weavile neckless hanging from around his neck. A few seconds more and Oni jumped down leaving her Human's face covered in a film of saliva from her tongue kisses. Using the arm of his jacket to wipe his face clean he couldn't help but sigh to himself as Blaze began to approach as if she was on a mission.

_ “Oni, Bunny….I need you to find out what Lucy can do without her aura so I can figure out how best to help her while I have a little chat with blaze please?" _

The Lopunny and Weavile smiled in their own animalistic manner while turning the3ir gaze towards the Lucario who cringed slightly, Jack turned his attention back to Lucy saying softly to her.

_ “Don't worry Lucy they won't harm you…they'll be helping you to learn how to fight without relying upon your aura, I need to speak with Blaze over there." _

The Lucario looked away from him for a second as she gazed at the murderous glare in the Blaziken's eyes, Lucy shook her head holding his forearm close to her chest as if to keep him form going, she was frightened for him and he could feel it.

“Don't worry Blaze won't kill me, she just needs to understand a few things about the teams new dynamics. Trust me it'll be fine I promise you!"

Jack smiled warmly leaning down to press his lips against the top of her head, all most straight away he could feel the increased heat emanating from the female Blaziken about twelve feet from his position in closing in fast. Her talon tipped fists where clenched tightly as her pace picked up she wasn't charging in but he was pretty sure she was going to lay into Lucy, slipping one the Heal balls free from one of the six utility pouches on his belt one was currently empty as he only had five Pokémon or rather four and one on loan. Lucy suddenly stepped in front of him ready to protect him, it was a sweet gesture but rather inconvenient, thankfully Bunny seemed to understand what he was planning; with a few bounds she drew the Lucario out of the way as Oni kept the canine Pokémon from trying to put herself in harm's way to protect him again. By now Blaze was only a few feet away now her whole body language showing she meant business as she reached back with her fist teen vanished a burst of red light, the heal ball rocked and beeped angrily, it shook angrily in his tightly clenched hands.

“Back in a tick!"

Jack announced heading off towards the trees behind the training grounds as Lucy looked on worriedly at him, easing an arm around the Lucario Bunny led her back to the picnic table where Toph was still slumbering away in a lazy dream.
