Sean was feeling so happy. He had his family and friends all around him for great food and someone kept sending him drinks. He didn't know if it was the server but wouldn't that be nice the guy smelt great, to bad nothing could ever come of it. Xander was such a great friend. Sean got up to go to the bathroom and grabbed Xander from behind in a big hug. "I love you man, I hate surprises but you do them better than most," He could smell Xander's embarrassment and laughed about it as he weaved and swerved his way to the bathroom. Three tigers were filing out when he got there, all three around Sean's age, mid twenties. Two were talking about sports, the White and the Golden tiger, but the Bengal missed a step making eye contact with Sean. He was gorgeous the purest definition of Sean's type, with the dense visible muscle showing through his clothes and fur. The guy was six foot one at the least, and the coloration that made Sean's heart melt. Sean waved at the Bengal and could smell the tigers embarrassed interest , Sean hoped he didn't look or smell too drunk, did they know each other or something. Damn Xander why did you bring me to such a tempting place. As he entered the bathroom he heard one of the Tigers say, "Oliver did you see that drunk CatnipQueen!" "Shut up you guys," another said.Sean stumbled his way to a urinal, muttering, "fucking homophobic speciesists. They must be sad furs inside." He wondered if that had been the Bengal but doubted it.After stumbling back to the Litterday party Fred, Ashley, and Rachel needed to head out. Ashley had work in the morning and Fred was going to go over Rachel's case with her before they saw their lawyer again."Give me a big hug you wonderful furs," Sean said crushing each one, in turn, to him with near bone breaking enthusiasm.Neal, Fred's partner, was going to join them at the club, he was very very tall for a river otter, and Fred, a Ram, had to look up at his man to give him a goodbye kiss. Ken, his Labrador friend and Ken's Partner Pence, a Badger were going dancing as well. Sharron and Samantha, Sean's sisters were going to have drinks at the bar and talk.So Sean and Xander followed them to get a few more."Ethan and I, well we aren't sure we believe in traditional mating you know, but it's not like mom and dad would be ok with that," Samantha said waiting for a bartender.Xander searched around the bar and smelled excited."You know they expect a lot from us but your probably safe since Zach and I are mated and set to be the next Alphas," Sharron said.Sean wanted to listen but Xander's twitchiness was distracting. "Hey Xander, what's going on?" Sean asked."Paul the restaurant host wanted to go dancing and I can't see him, and my phone died," Xander said."What's the worst they could do," Sharron said, Sean missing what Samantha had said."What does he look like?" Sean

asked."He is a Calico, mixed black, brown, gold and white," Xander said on the tips of his pads.Samantha said, "Their the Alphas, they choose if my mating exists or not, I can't be part of that, it shouldn't be up to them.""Dude, he is sitting at a table by the dance floor and he is looking at you, wave then, get your drink," Sean said."Sweet," Xander said waving his tail and arm into the furs around him."Dogs," Sean laughed."Worst comes to worst the system doesn't change," Sharron said."Hey Samantha, your not getting mated?" Sean asked, "I thought Ethan had asked you.""He did and I said yes but, that, I wanted it to be civil only," Samantha said."Nothing wrong with that, the pack law won't recognize when I mate, I can only have a civil mating." Sean said."Hey, if that ever changes let's renew our mating vows in the pack," Samantha said."That's a bit of a tail chasing," Sharron said, "I thought you don't believe in a traditional mating.""I don't know, if they were accepting of Sean's mating I would be much more comfortable with the pack, and all that, the pack has done terrible things in the past." Samantha said, "but a traditional mating ceremony would be great.""I loved mine, it was the celebration of my love for Zach, I want you both to have the same chance," Sharron said grabbing her drink.Sean ordered a extra tall screw driver, hugged his sisters and followed Xander to meet Paul. Paul's lean athletic form was poised on his seat as if he didn't care if they joined him or not, the way all cats did but without the powerful grace to match larger ones."Hey Paul, my phone is dead, I didn't charge it enough today, this is my friend Sean, the Litterday pup," Xander said."Nice to meet you," Sean said stared blinked then looked away in a traditional cat greeting.Paul Purred, "Such manners, Xander you are adorable and your Catwolf friend here is welcome to prowl with us, but it would be better if we could get someone to prowl with him to the beat all night.""All our friends here are partnered," Xander said."What about those pack females," Paul asked, "I like wolfs but I am not good at seeing the beauty in women, but they seemed strong."Sean laughed, "Those are my sisters and I prefer males.""Wonderful, lets dance and see who we can run into," Paul said."Well their is Neal, he is dancing alone, his partner went home," Xander said pointing at the Graceful Otter that seemed to need no dance partner. Paul batting at Xander's and Sean's hands for them to follow him. They maneuvered their way to their friends and introduced Paul to Ken, Pence and Neal as best they could with the music.  They danced to the beat, Paul was a good dancer just like Neal. He danced with agile grace, and Neal with fluid dexterity. Sean and Pence were somewhere in between them and the dogs. Xander and Ken like

all Sporting breeds were just too happy to be able to keep the beat, they jumped and bounced with joy. Sean had finished his drink but still had his glass in hand when Ken backed into him and knocked his elbow.Sean nearly stumbled but a firm hand caught his back. Sadly his cup wasn't so lucky, it shattered and a large area of the dance floor cleared like an oil drop on water. Sean turned to thank the guy who caught him, and to his luck it was the Bengal."I'm so sorry about that are you ok?" Sean asked. The Bengal massaged his neck waving him off, "Its alright man-"He stepped back and tensed up like someone had stepped on his tail."are you ok, seriously?" Sean asked looking down. The Tiger was bare padding it and had stepped on a glass shard."Shit man let me give you a hand where are you sitting?" Sean asked."Back near the bar, God why did I think it was a good idea to dance bare paw, even if the glass hadn't broken, look at those heels Id be spiked to the floor," the Bengal said gesturing at a Vixen in six inch heels."Probably the alcohol, I was about to start grinding on my partnered buddy, because I forgot who I was dancing with." Sean said helping the Tiger sit down, "I'm Sean by the way.""I know who you are Sean, I'm Oliver we go to the same gym." Oliver said."Really? Crap, when I'm lifting, its like I'm in my own little world." Sean said and sat next to the handsome tiger."Did you hear my friends?" Oliver asked."Yeah, but its all good I heard what you said too." Sean said."Sorry about them, they can be barb-dicks sometimes," Oliver said."Hey, I'm the one who should be sorry, I bloodied up your foot." Sean said, "Is there still glass in it, should I get a first aid kit.""Oh, nothing my socks cant fix, it's just a shallow but uncomfortable scratch across the pad." Oliver said."So you noticed me," Sean said his paws going cold. "Yeah you have a great body," Oliver said, the end of his tail sweeping back and forth like a Viperess body dancer.Sean warmed all over, and Said, "I can't believe I didn't notice you, your stacked."Oliver laughed a good hearty laugh, "Well at least we have similar goals and standards.""Yeah, do you, or would you like another drink?" Sean said."Oh no, I'm fine. I should probably head home and get this washed." Oliver said indicating his foot."Oh ok," Sean said standing, Oliver tried to stand as well but didn't quite make it up."Shit," Oliver said thudding back to the chair."Ok I'm getting you a ride," Sean said pulling out his phone."You don't have to do that," Oliver said."It's not a problem, I insist," Sean said, "It will be here in two or three minutes, do you need to grab anything?""No it was all at my seat." Oliver said a feline smirk on his face."What's up?" Sean asked."Oh, I was just thinking you must

have been raised to be an Alpha male." Oliver said."Sort of, I was the only male, but I was also the runt of my Litter," Sean said, "I wasn't really trained for anything, I'm just me, well and when I came out to them it was like their expectations of never seeing me go anywhere were confirmed."Oliver was taken aback, "Really, cats aren't like that everyone expects you to be independent, to be whatever you want to be." "I know when I was growing up I always wanted to be a big cat so I could be like that too." Sean said and his phone started buzzing in his hand."Our ride is here," Sean said helping Oliver to his feet."Really you wanted to be a cat?" Oliver said, "I grew up alone I always wanted to be a wolf and to be in the Pack.""Cats can join the pack now," Sean said."Gay ones?" Oliver asked."No they barely tolerate their own gay ones," Sean said, "But my friends are my pack now.""Thats really cool," Oliver said sliding into the Retriever Driver's sedan."Where do the two of you want to head?" the Chihuahua driver asked."What's your street?" Sean asked."23rd and Pine street," Oliver said."Wow were are pretty much neighbors," Sean said, "I'm two blocks down and one over on 21st and Pike."Oliver laughed his hearty laugh, "Meeting at the gym halfway I see.""You said you thought about being a wolf as a kid where did you grow up?""Oh I grew up in rural Montana," Oliver said."Oh so you're a mountain lion," Sean teased."Damn right, and howdy," Oliver said with a laugh, "what about you.""Im a coastal wolf with some European pack in me." Sean said."That explains your colors, it's very interesting," Oliver said.Sean knew he was radiating his interest in Oliver and didn't want to hurt his feelings, he asked, "so what brought you out west?""Work I got offered a job in the area pulse I was the only gay guy in town... well that I knew about," Oliver said."So you moved here to find a man," Sean asked feeling guilty, and thought, "we aren't on a date any expectations aren't my fault.""Yes and to meet other guys in my community, you know find a pack," Oliver said rubbing the backs of his fingers against Sean's hand sending electrifying jolts up Sean's arm.Sean felt like he was choking, "I-I know what you mean."The car pulled to up Oliver's building. Sean got out and got the door for Oliver."Thanks are you want a beer up stairs?" Oliver asked.Sean shifted from pad to pad and said, "I shouldn't, but I want too.""No pressure, I've enjoyed getting to know you and would like to know you better.""Well I guess I could come up for a little while," Sean said.
