Drives With Wolves: Chapter 5
Hot damn, finally put together another. I put a bit more thought into this one so my apologies for the delay.
Journal Entry 15:
I finished my last journal entry while eating among the wolves when Tala and I could see Elsu making a b-line straight for us. I gulped, assuming this had something to do with me.
“The alpha would like to see you.” Elsu spoke quietly. I looked at him then to Tala with some obvious concern on my face at finally meeting not only the alpha, but Kosa's father.
“Go on, it'll be fine.” Tala said as she smiled at me and patted my back in encouragement. Not wanting to give the impression I was hesitating I got up and swiftly followed Elsu to the center of the various tents until we stopped at the heavy flap where Tocho stood. He smiled at me and motioned me inside the alpha's tent as he held open the flap, I took a deep breathe and slipped inside.
What I saw at first inside the alpha's quarters were not far from Kosa's den. It was nothing like the common quarters we spent the night in the previous evening which were bare and nothing but a makeshift sleeping space for many. This instead was heavily furnished, many pieces of art created by what I assume were the wolves all of which had an almost native American style to them, things like the rug, wooden carvings, and intricate hanging pieces that reminded me a bit of dream catchers. All seemed to have interesting unique styles, hinting they may be from a variety of different regions given their diversity. There were even human artifacts from what I could see, an old looking saber or a set of old binoculars and other trinkets hung up or displayed. As I scanned around the room marveling at all the different shapes and interesting pieces I noticed the alpha, standing there in the center of the tent looking tall and firm, but still smiling softly at me with a greeting.
“Ah, you must be Josh.” He spoke in a thundering confident voice.
“Y-yes, and you're Ahiga?” I asked while scanning over the wolf. He was all white from head to toe, from what I could see at least, as he had a loincloth just like the rest of the pack seemed to wear around town. He was well built, tall, likely one of the tallest and seemingly strongest of the wolves I had seen in the pack which I assume may be why he has ended up in this position of leadership. Despite all this, he had a kind accepting demeanor that put me at ease.
“Mmm yes, that would be me. Alpha of this tribe, or this pack if you prefer, and of course, Kosa's father which I would hope he has told you by now.” Ahiga explained with a smirk in his booming firm voice.
“Kosa did mention that.” I said softly then thinking of something. “Why do you do that anyway? Call the tribe a pack, or visa-versa?” I continued.
“Oh that, times change, some wolves like the old ways and sticking with tradition of our ancestors, some prefer to give themselves a bit more of a human quality. Nobody really thinks much of it either way.” Ahiga said as he motioned towards a cushion on the floor. “Now please, have a seat, I'd love to get to know my son's mate better.” He said with a smile. I sat on the cushion across from him as he poured some of the same wine from the other night into a cup and handed it to me. I took note to take things slow this time around and not end up with another hangover before our big day.
“So. Kosa tells me you two are close.” Ahiga said with a smile that began to make me uncomfortable once again.
“Yes, I guess you could put it that way.” As I spoke through a cold sweat.
“Relax. There is no need to go into detail if you're embarrassed about it. Not like I can't smell it on you anyway. But really it is nothing to be ashamed about. We do come across humans every so often. I have had a few who I would even call my friends, and I understand they are much more private in these intimate matters.” Ahiga took a sip of his alcoholic drink before continuing.
“Obviously you have my blessing. If Kosa is happy, I am going to be very happy for him. And from what I can tell you are honest and sincere although hesitant to share your feelings with anyone but him. And that is understandable coming from a human. So tell me, what draws you to Kosa?” Ahiga asked with unbreaking eye contact feeling like he stared into my soul as he spoke.
“Well.... I uh, I guess it is rare I can simply connect with somebody like him. I just, feel like somewhat of a loner even among other people. I could always make friends. I can socialize just fine and I get by at work chatting it up around the water cooler. But in the end most people have ulterior motives or distractions and it is nearly impossible to weed out the ones who are genuinely good people interested in friendship. I guess that attracted me to Kosa. He kind of puts things bluntly, lays it all out on the table and doesn't hide anything no matter how embarrassing I might end up being about it. I guess you all sort of do it. You talk about how you can smell him on me, how you know we've been together. But it doesn't seem to bother you. It's a refreshing quality when I have to spend most of my days around judgmental people whether they mean to be or they do it subconsciously.” I let it all out unscripted, not realizing my issues with the humans back home until being asked this question, but being glad I was able to explain my frustrations.
“I see. To be honest with you Kosa has been somewhat of a loner with the tribe himself. He would play a bit with the other cubs, but he always had an interest for something else outside of the forest. When he learned about the humans growing up, about how we kept our distance, he could never understand why. When he was old enough to live on his own he began doing just that, and as we moved further away from the humans he seemed to move closer towards them. I always wondered if it was some kind of dangerous obsession. Always worried it might cause him harm but I let it be. I'm certain he has taken unnecessary risks, probably when he met you at first even, but I'd like to think we got lucky and it paid off when he met you.” Ahiga smiled at that last part without breaking eye contact. It was no wonder he was the alpha, his stern gaze would stare you down and make you feel like a weaker being as he pierced your soul. Ahiga continued talking.
“I like to believe that Kosa fits in somewhere between you humans and us wolves. We like to be wild, be free, we live off the land and have relatively simple rules that are understood throughout the tribe. I know Kosa enjoys this freedom. But I know he does have an affinity for machines and other man-made things. He would always bring home human items he'd find exploring the woods. Parts from vehicles, tools, clothes, you name it!”
“Oh yes, that is sort of how we met actually. My vehicle broke, it was a car I used to drive up and down the mountain near where he lived. He said he watched me most nights fascinated with it. Finally when I needed help he revealed himself. I was terrified at first. And I feel terrible about it now, but he made me feel like he wasn't a threat. He helped me out, and we immediately became good friends. And now look where we are. About to be joined for life.” I said with an aura of uncertainty.
“And how does that make you feel? Being joined with Kosa as his mate for life?” Ahiga asked.
“To be honest. Uncertain. But not about my love for him. I can't describe it but I have never felt this dedicated to somebody in my life, not another family member or anybody I have ever dated. There's something there that makes me feel like I wouldn't be able to live without Kosa now that I've known him. And I sense he shares the same feelings for me. The uncertainty to me, comes from our future. My job. How will we live together? How can I keep him happy while still being able to sustain the human side of my life? Things like that worry me.” I continued on.
“Good..... Very good..... I'm happy to hear that. Being honest with yourself like this is good for you. Letting it all out. No matter the circumstances, with a bond like this I feel you two will work out just fine together. I'm certain you will come across obstacles, and I have no doubt they are going to be tough too, but together you will overcome them.” Ahiga spoke looking square into my eyes with not even the slightest shred of doubt in his voice. His confidence in us brought shivers to my core. If the alpha of all people, the leader of the pack of hundreds of these strong capable wolves, felt we could make it, damn right we could make it.
“Thank you.” Was all I could muster but it was in sincere appreciation looking back at him. I took a sip of my drink staring at him as we sat in silence, appreciating each others company. I broke the silence after a few minutes first.
“Are these human things that Kosa found?” I motioned toward the sword or the binoculars.
“Actually no. Gifts I suppose. The sword is very old, one of our ancestors actually received that from a human. An explorer from the East who was saved by one of our kind in a flash flood, long before humans populated these lands besides the natives.” Ahiga explained.
“I see, so do you come across humans fairly often or is it rare this deep into the forest?” I asked.
“Well, most of the wolves have had a run in or two with humans. Being the alpha I tend to be the one called out for such special cases if we do need to actually approach a human. Most of the time we end up having hikers exploring these parts. The scouts in the woods before you come anywhere near the camp tend to lure them away, usually without even being seen or noticed. They are very good at diversion. Occasionally there are other circumstances though. We've had lost hikers or hunters near death, broken bones or sick who needed care. We will bring them in and get them back on their feet. So far they have been very grateful to the point they promised to keep our secret. Some have even returned to thank us and visit old friends they have made in their stay. None have quite shared a love like yours that I am familiar with in our tribe, but I do not doubt it has happened elsewhere.” Ahiga explained.
“Oh so there are many tribes out there?” I asked.
“Of course, there are many. Many of the gifts you see in here come from travelers among tribes. Many wolves are free spirits like Kosa and just wish to travel the lands in search of something. They tend to carry with them messages from other tribes and migrate as they please. I even had my fair share of travels when I was younger, before settling down and becoming the alpha of the pack here.”
“How did you come into being the alpha if you don't mind me asking? Is it something you are born into or something you must earn?” I asked.
“Actually it is something you earn, but it is mostly a mutual understanding of leadership among your peers. If you are strong, take control of situations, treat people right and fair the people tend to look up to you as a leader. For me the previous alpha was getting older. Was not nearly as active. Throughout hunts, or when a human needed help, I just acted on my impulses and took action. A series of those events landed me here as alpha eventually. If there is ever a split between two leaders in a tribe, it is either settled, or the tribe splits into two factions. Never with harsh feelings, it is simply a difference of opinion and a new tribe is born from it.” Ahiga explained.
“Interesting.” I responded.
“Why do you ask?” Ahiga quizzed.
“Well, I was just worried there might be some kind of expectation out of Kosa, some requirement in the future that he become alpha like his father. And I was worried it might make it difficult to stay together if he has to lead a pack out here and I have to live in the city hours away.” I said.
“Heh. You humans really need to quit worrying so much. But I get it. You're probably hit with more things to contemplate today than you have in the past few years alone, but I ask that you please let it be. Things will work out. I have my deepest confidence that whether Kosa wants to pursue being an alpha or not, you will be by his side and you'll find a way to make this work.” Ahiga spoke again with that confidence brimming in his voice as he leaned forward with his paw on my knee.
“Thank you. I won't stress it too much.” I said as I smiled back at the encouraging alpha.
“Now, we have a long day tomorrow. There are going to be a lot of wolves that want to meet you before the ceremony. Elders. Scouts. My mate, or Kosa's mother. You should probably get some sleep. You can sleep in this tent if you'd like, or you can go to the communal tent where you stayed last night if you are more comfortable there.” Ahiga said as he motioned to a pile of furs.
“I uh, I think I'll stay in here if that is fine. Where do you stay?” I asked.
“Usually here but don't worry, I will be leaving for the hunt now with Kosa and a few of the others. We have a long night ahead of us. I have no doubt Kosa will bring back a large haul for you tomorrow.” Ahiga said with a smile as he bowed out of the tent leaving me sitting there in silence. I sat on the cushion contemplating our conversation, finishing my drink and deciding to make my way to the pile of furs to get comfortable and fall asleep. I managed to write about our conversation before slipping into unconsciousness.
Journal Entry 16:
I awoke in a minor panic, sitting up in my bed of furs and cushions not realizing where I was and immediately missing Kosa by my side. It has only been about twelve hours since I had last seen him but it was beginning to wear on me. I could see the daylight softly breaking through the tent as I heard the typical hustle and bustle of the village of wolves outside going about their business. I decided I could go without facing the rest of the village for a while and continued to rest in bed until I was interrupted only a few minutes later by a soft motherly voice at the front door.
“Helllooo!” It said as I saw more daylight flow in through the open flap of the tent.
“Yeah, I'm up.” I said groggily trying to hide from the light in the covers.
“Sorry to wake you! We just have a busy day ahead of us and I wanted to get a decent start with you.” She continued as she stepped up to the side of the bed. I was looking up at a gray female wolf although she seemed a bit older than someone like Tala. She had a brilliant coat of gray with a few bits of orangish brown mixed in, it was clear where Kosa got his colors from.
“Are you.... Kosa's mother?” I asked.
“Bingo sweetie! My pleasure.” She said as she reached out her paw to shake my hand. I was thrown off at her understanding of the hand shake when the rest of the pack seemed confused by it, but nonetheless I took hold and shook.
“Pleasure to meet you, uhhh....” I stammered not recalling if I was told her name by this point.
“Leotie, and you must be Josh? Unless we somehow ended up with another human in the village overnight of course.” She joked through a toothy smile as she helped me up and out of bed and I dressed myself while she cleaned around the tent, taking items like the cups and wine and stashing them away.
“What is the plan for today?” I asked unsure what exactly I was in for.
“Oh nothing too bad. A lot of the pack would like to meet you to congratulate you and give you their blessings. Many rarely meet a human so that is special for them as well. I do have to watch a few of the young ones while their fathers are out on the hunt with your mate, but they should be like playing with puppies to you if you'd like to come along, I think you'll handle it just fine.” She said with a wink.
“Yeah, sure that sounds fine.” I responded, kinda mulling over the part about her mentioning 'my mate' being out on the hunt. My mate. Kosa. My mate. It still seemed surreal to me.
We made our way out of the tent to almost immediately be assaulted by many different wolves of color and age looking to meet me. Never before have I been put on the spot like this and have so many others seek me out to introduce themselves to me and give me their blessings. So many people who knew Kosa in the pack and seemed genuinely happy for the wolf that he had found happiness in me. It was an extremely gratifying feeling of acceptance among these people even thought I was terrible at remembering all of their names and faces and I felt a little bad about it all. Eventually after making the rounds with Leotie she brought me to a tent where another female wolf was looking after the pups as they played. She spoke quietly to the other wolf dismissing her as we sat down together and watched the pups play.
“During the hunts we tend to trade off watching over everyone's children, so I'll be here for a few hours but you are welcome to explore the village some more if you'd like.” Leotie said as we took our seats.
“Please no! That is more people I have met in the past few years alone in only the span of a couple hours. I don't know how I'll ever be able to remember everyone's names.” I said as I declined her offer half joking.
“It's fine, nobody expects too much of you. All you humans tend to look the same to us anyway, but at least we have scent to recognize each other.” Leotie smiled back. She began to play with one of the pups, some kind of game that seemed to be similar to paddy cake or a weird secret handshake. She spoke to me again while playing with the pup.
“Have you and Kosa decided what you might do for a dwelling?” Leotie asked.
“Ah. Well. I'm not sure to be honest. This is all so sudden. Before leaving I was casually looking around at some cabins at the edge of the forest and I have checked with my bank about purchasing but I haven't been too serious about looking into it. I would hope that would give us some privacy so Kosa and I could enjoy our time around the house without hiding away from neighbors.” I responded.
“Mmm that does sound nice for you two, not too far for us to visit I'd hope.” She said as the pup she played with giggled losing whatever game they were playing.
“Oh of course not, whenever we get this figured out we would love to have you as guests!” I said as I thought of something.
“Say, earlier this morning you greeted me with a handshake but none of the other wolves seemed familiar with it. Do you come in contact with humans more often or something?” I asked Leotie as she smiled realizing what I was getting at.
“Hmm yes, actually, I have been around humans more so than the rest of the pack. When I was only a pup, maybe about 5-6 years old, a wildfire had split up the pack I was with at the time. We had managed to escape but I was split from the rest, including my parents.” She explained.
“I'm so sorry to hear that.” I said.
“Oh don't be please, it led to some wonderful experiences although I was split from my parents for years. At the time I was not capable of surviving on my own in the wilderness, but I came across a small ranch in the mountains south of here about about an eight day hike. It seemed only an older human woman lived there among her horses and cattle. I watched and stole food occasionally until one day she caught me in her sights at the end of her shotgun. I was terrified, and I think she saw that. She wasn't entirely sure what I was but I was capable of speech at the time, although I wasn't unlike the rest of these pups we are watching over here.” Leotie said as she motioned towards the pups playing.
“She took me in, and over time we grew fond of each other as she raised me in her care. She was very secretive of me as well, understanding that our kind was not wishing to be revealed. I spent most of my time around her ranch helping out, and occasionally she would let her closest human friends in on our little secret. One such friend of hers, a native man, knew of us wolves and another wolf tribe which had turned out to be my old family, and years later I was finally reunited with them.” Leotie explained as I listened in amazement.
“Despite finding my family, I continued living with that old lady while keeping contact with them until her health took a decline years later. I was 19 when she passed away in my arms. The care of that women inspired me to always be kind and understanding of others, even if they seem to have malicious intentions at first. From her, I learned to understand humans and I am usually the first of our tribe to take care when we do have human visitors.” Leotie continued on.
“Wow so that explains it. And how did you end up with Ahiga?” I asked.
“Well, after the old woman passed away I briefly stayed with my tribe before moving on. My real parents had long since passed, and my human mother had now too, so I began to travel from tribe to tribe again. Eventually Ahiga and I met on the trail and fell in love. We joined this tribe when we had Kosa, Ahiga became the alpha, and the rest is history.” Leotie explained as she summed up her life thus far with a smile.
“Do you think Kosa's interest in humans stems from your experience?” I asked her as one of the pups hid behind a bush pensively staring at me as I played a mock peek-a-boo shrouding my eyes in my hands.
“Oh absolutely. I think I encouraged it more than Ahiga liked, but he has always been understanding about his interests and allowed Kosa to find his own way. Kosa would always ask me stories about how you humans lived or worked, and why we had to keep ourselves a secret from them.” Leotie went on.
“Yes how did that come to be? How have you wolves lived so long in secrecy like this and why?” I asked.
“There are many old legends and I am afraid it is lost to history at this point. Some feel we are more accustomed to being guardians of the wilderness, watching silently and taking care of nature including humans when needed. Others feel we wouldn't be able to mesh with the humans in a society with some of our ways and looking at how native Americans were treated they might not be completely wrong there, but I disagree with my experiences with humans and there are definitely good ones. I'm certain some day in the future the expansion of humans into the wilderness will make this a secret that will be impossible to contain, but for now our people are comfortable hiding in the shadows and just helping when needed.” Leotie said as she seemed to be in deep thought about the subject.
We sat together watching the pups play when we both heard multiple howls coming from a great distance.
“Heh, sounds like your mate got his hunt.” Leotie said with a smile as other wolves in the tribe around us piped up and howled into the air in response, including a couple of the pups trying their best.
“Really? So Kosa will be back soon?” I said overly excited.
“Relax, we still have many hours before you will be seeing Kosa.” Just as Leotie finished Elsu approached from behind.
“Josh, come with me now, it is time to prepare for your ceremony.” Elsu said quietly in his typical to the point manner.
“Thanks for spending time with me Josh. Kosa has quite the catch if I do say so myself.” Leotie said through her smile as I blushed.
“Thank you, it was great meeting you.” I said as we stood up and I hugged Leotie. Her scent was familiar, close to Kosa's. Maybe I was getting used to this scent thing after all?
I followed Elsu to an unknown destination in the village as he spoke to me along the way.
“We are going to prepare you for the dinner ceremony tonight. Tala is also waiting for us as well.” Elsu explained as we made our way to a tent.
“What exactly am I supposed to do? I am still pretty new to this so forgive me.” I said.
“No need to worry. I have gone through the same ceremony myself in your position when I partnered with my mate, it is not so bad. First we will need to strip you of your clothing and bathe you.” Elsu said as we entered the tent.
“Oh, uh, with Tala and everything?” I said feeling a bit embarrassed at the thought.
“Typically yes, but if it bothers you I can leave.” Tala said as she overheard us talking coming into the tent. It seemed to be a tent meant for bathing, a few wooden tubs and other items like clothes were hung around the tent as a few candles burned.
“Well, no, sorry. It's fine I suppose. Forgive me I'm just not used to this.” I said as Elsu moved behind me and Tala moved to my front as she helped lift my shirt over my head.
“Heh, you're kinda cute when you get nervous like that you know?” Tala said as Elsu fiddled with my pants. I blushed looking back at Tala and reached down to help Elsu unbuckle my pants and he pulled them down, neatly folding my things into a pile in the corner.
“All your clothes please.” Tala asked motioning towards my underwear. I hesitated a bit then slowly took them off trying to cover myself as best I could.
“Please climb into the tub, it should be nice and warm for you.” Tala motioned as I blushed and hopped in. Once in the tub I felt the warmth as the two wolves hands dipped into the water, soaking up some cloth and slowly grabbing hold of each of my arms, soaking along them, then around my back and chest. I have to admit the touch was nice and soothing, although I was still uncomfortable at being naked and bathed like I was in an old folks home. I learned to put my uneasiness aside and just enjoy the touch as the two wolves began working some soapy substance into my skin before slowly washing it away. Tala grabbed my shoulders and turned me around so my back was resting against the edge of the tub as she began to massage my shoulders in her grip.
“Let me know if I'm too hard on you here, we tend to get pretty rough with our massages.” Tala said as she gripped and pushed into my shoulders and upper back.
“Please keep going, that feels amazing.” I said as I could feel her delicate but very firm touch as her paw pads gripped and twisted along my skin. Her claws were present, but she was delicate and taking care not to break the skin. Elsu was off to the side preparing something else as Tala finished up and sunk my shoulders deeper into the tub as I reclined almost fully in the warm water.
“Take your time and relax in here. We will be back in a little while to prepare you for the next part of the ceremony. Try and think peaceful thoughts, this is a good day for you. Think of being with Kosa, what you like to do together. Think of your love for him.” Tala spoke softly as she signaled to Elsu and they both stepped outside.
I sat in the warm water smelling the herbs in the soap as well as what smelled like incense. Likely something Elsu started burning when I wasn't paying attention. I could feel my tense muscles relax in the water, feeling like I was melting into the tub. I tried to take Tala's advice, thinking of Kosa. Thinking how I hadn't seen him for nearly a full day now and missing him more than ever. I thought back at everything we had done, teaching him to drive a car, him being a speed freak behind the wheel and loving every minute of it. How he helped me work on the car several times now between our lovemaking sessions and other things, like him taking me for hikes through the woods or showing me his favorite spots in the forest. I thought back to what my life was like before the wolf. How bored and meaningless I felt, and how grateful I was for having the wolf show interest in me of all people. I felt a tear fall from my eye as I closed them and laid back in the tub, continuing to think about Kosa. His fur, his scent, until I fell asleep.
I'm not sure how long I was out for, but I woke back up to Tala and Elsu standing over the tub smiling down at me.
“Josh, it's time for the ceremony.” Tala whispered as she leaned me forward and raised me from the tub. Both Elsu and Tala were ready with cloth to help dry me off from the water as I stepped out. They brought me to a corner of the tent with a table and various paints and brushes as Elsu handed me my underwear.
“The alpha requested we don't force you into this part if you're not comfortable, but our tradition usually requires us to paint symbols and runes across your body. You can wear your underwear but nothing else besides the paint to the dinner. Kosa as well as the rest of the tribe does not expect it of you, but I'm sure they would be very pleased if you did.” Tala said as she picked up a cup of blue paint.
“That is fine, really.” I said feeling relaxed and comfortable around the wolves at this point.
“Great, please just stand still and Elsu and I will take care of everything.” Tala said as she began mixing the paint. It was cold to the touch as the brush contacted my skin, I could feel Tala start at my back and Elsu begin painting along my lower legs. I tried to watch as best I could, but decided to just stand still feeling I was moving too much. Staring straight ahead, they worked over my body for the next ten minutes painting intricate designs and patterns along my legs, arms, back and chest. Finally Tala came to my face and began painting small intricate patterns as I looked back into her eyes. After a few more minutes she finished up.
“There we go! Now it's time for your big night, are you ready?” Tala asked as she grinned.
“Yes. Nervous but excited.” I said.
“Don't stress it, you'll be fine.” Elsu said as he patted me on the back and guided me to the door.
We headed out as I wore nothing but my underwear and the blue paint, watching where I stepped since I was barefoot through all this as well. Luckily most of the village was made up of smooth soil with a few pebbles here or there that were easy to avoid. As we walked closer and closer to the center of the village the noise grew. More and more wolves populated the center as I began to feel a little self conscious of my body. I glanced at a wolf looking at me as I walked behind Tala, he smiled and nodded making me feel a little better about my situation. As we approached the large crowd gathered around the fire I could feel more and more eyes on me, making me sweat and hang my head down. I could feel Elsu behind me put his paw on my shoulder.
“You're doing fine, they are just admiring you.” He said as he gave my shoulder a squeeze which brought me comfort. Tala guided me to a table where I was directed to take a seat on a cushion. I felt like everyone chatting around the fire was staring at me. They seemed friendly enough, but with that many eyes on you there's nothing to do but feel out of place. To my relief most of the wolves began to direct their attention to the alpha's tent as both Ahiga and Leotie stepped out holding each others hands. Ahiga was painted in yellow paint in a similar fashion I was, while Leotie was bare. They slowly walked through the crowd greeting and smiling at some of the wolves until they made their way to the table I sat at. I felt I should stand up to greet them, as they both opened their arms and hugged me.
“I'm glad you decided to wear the paint. Kosa is going to love it!” Leotie whispered quietly in my ear as she released her grip around me. We all sat down at the table as other wolves among the tribe began to take seats at different tables around the fire. Ahiga sat to my left, Kosa's empty seat to the right of me, and Leotie to the right of that. As the chatter around the ceremony died down Ahiga spoke up looking around at the crowd.
“Wolves! Today we join one of our own with an outsider. A human. Let us welcome him to the pack properly!” Ahiga said in his classic thunderous voice as he smiled and looked down to me. Immediately after finishing talking he began to bellow a low but gradually increasing in volume howl. Other wolves around the tribe began let out their own howls in an impressive harmonic symphony that I somehow found myself in the middle of. I simply looked around in awe as they howled to the skies in my honor. After a few seconds Ahiga ceased, and the rest of the crowd slowly followed. As everyone sat quietly a single howl somewhere behind the rest of the crowd sounded off. I knew it was Kosa. I didn't think I could pick his howl out from the others but somehow I knew. This single howl was joined by a few others as I smiled ready to finally see my mate for the first time in more than 24 hours. As the howling died down the crowd parted ways in the back, allowing the hunting party to move forward carrying their prize.
I noticed Kosa at the front immediately, unable to contain my excitement as I smiled and he looked at me, wagging his tail in his usual excited self but he was stern, and held with his hunting party as they hauled the feast on a platform. Kosa was covered in similar markings as I, but he was covered in red paint. The rest of his hunting party were also painted in a variety of different colors. When they were closer to the fire a few wolves from the crowd put some supports out for the hunters to rest the platform, essentially making a table. They hauled in an entire feast with a vast variety of dishes but the main attraction was the huge elk's antlers at the center. As the hunting party dispersed around the fire to their own tables Kosa walked around to me, locking eyes and never looking away. I stood up from my seat as he made his way towards me in front of the crowd, opened his arms and gave me a few licks as he held me in his arms.
“Kosa I missed you more than ever.” I whispered as he pulled away from his sloppy licks.
“Don't worry, I'm here now. And look what we brought back, a huge elk! I've never seen one so big can you believe it?!” He exclaimed as he held out a paw to the feast as other wolves were taking platters from it and dispersing among the tribe.
“I'm impressed Kosa, really, I mean I knew you could hunt but that elk must've been huge!” I said as I looked over the antlers as Kosa beamed with pride. I didn't know a whole lot about hunting but looking at the antlers I could only imagine the elk would have been much larger than average. Kosa pulled me into a hug again as I rested my face against his chest, breathing in his scent and letting him hold me against his warm body for a few seconds. It was a nice change as I had been in my underwear in the cool night, letting him warm me a bit.
“Come on, lets take a seat.” Kosa said as he sat down facing the crown with me by his side. Plates and wine were distributed throughout the tribe included to our table but everyone seemed to hold off eating, so I did the same. Kosa reached over from my right to grasp my hand in his, softly squeezing and gripping it as he leaned his shoulder against mine and I pressed back into him. Ahiga addressed the tribe once again.
“Brothers and sisters young and old.” He spoke loud and firm into the crowd.
“Tonight we are joining two souls who have found each other through chance yet they share the strongest love I have seen in ages. One happens to be my son, Kosa, and the other happens to be a human, Josh.” Ahiga said as he motioned an open palm to Kosa, then I.
“Through my talks with the both of them I can say without a shred of doubt they share a bond so strong it would take an unimaginable force to tear these two apart, and it seems the wilderness would agree with me given the feast it has allowed us to partake in tonight.” Ahiga turned to Kosa.
“Kosa, I am extremely proud of you.” Ahiga said in a firm tone as he looked to me.
“And Josh, take care of my son like he will to you.” Ahiga spoke as I simply nodded and smiled, my eyes watering a little.
“Wolves! Tonight Josh, the human, will be joining our tribe. Our pack. Our family.” Ahiga said as he gave a pause between each.
“Let us wish these two a happy life together. Once again wolves, raise your cups, cry out to the sky, let the wilderness know we accept this feast as a gift, and this union of man and wolf. Josh and Kosa. Will never be broken!” Ahiga finished as he raised his cup full of wine, howled to the sky as the rest of the pack joined in. Kosa, Leotie, everyone around me piped up in that same deafening symphony of howls as I held my drink up. I felt Kosa reach his paw around me and pat my back. I looked at him as he looked at me. It was impossible to talk over the noise but I got the sense he wanted me to join. I figured nobody would hear me over the rest of the wolves so I took a deep breathe and did my best. Kosa was ecstatic! Smiling as he pulled me close with his arm around his shoulder and we howled cheek to cheek into the sky until I was light headed from the lack of oxygen. Even after I was spent some of the wolves in the distance continued to howl for minutes.
“Please wolves, dig in!” Ahiga yelled as the howling ceased and the pack began to consume alcohol and food for the rest of the evening. Kosa took a piece of elk and hand fed me some as I did the same and we laughed. I mocked a typical human wedding, instructing Kosa to grip his wine and tangle his arm around mine as we took a sip from our drinks interlocked staring into each others eyes.
We spent a few hours of the evening drinking, laughing, and sharing stories with Ahiga and Leotie as well as Kosa's other pack mates who would stop by the table to give us their best wishes. Eventually late into the night the crowd had died down, some smaller groups talking among themselves. I was feeling the effects of the alcohol yet again and felt a lot more loose with the welcoming wolves, but luckily I did not go overboard like I had the first night with the drink. Throughout the night Kosa was becoming more and more touchy, leaning in to give me licks, or nipping at my neck or sneaking gropes at my crotch or butt. There was no hiding it, Kosa wanted me and he was winning me over slowly as the night wore on. He finally stood up, grabbing me by the arms and lifting me as well as I realized just how much the alcohol was effecting me. The upside to it all was I no longer felt cold to the night even in the nude as Kosa took me by the hand giggling as he pulled me towards the forest.
“I've gotsh to pee!” Kosa said through slurred words as he wandered into the dark forest with me in tow as we both laughed. The forest was full of a lot more rocks and sticks that began to hurt my feet as I stumbled my way through with him. He stopped somewhere and let go as he wandered off then I heard the familiar trickle, then he finished. There was nothing but silence.
“Kosa?” I said, unable to see anything as I stammered about a little drunk.
“Kosa I know you're there you dick!” I yelled just as I felt furred arms reach around my midsection. Kosa rested his muzzle on my shoulder as my back came in contact with his front, I could feel his probing tool at my ass trying to poke through the underwear.
“Mmmmm I'm so glad to have you back.” Kosa half growled through his speech as I could smell the alcohol and meat on his breathe. He began to rock me back and forth as he held his body close to mine, keeping my back warm through his fur.
“Kosa I never want to be separated from you for that long again.” I said as he cradled me.
“We wont be.” Kosa said as he gripped tighter around me with his arms.
“Come on, lets head to the tent. Tonight we get to sleep in the alpha's!” Kosa said as he started pulling me back towards the village. I continued to carefully step around anything I could see which was very little, and Kosa noticed me slowing him down.
“Sorry Kosa, my feet are pretty soft from wearing shoes my whole life.” I tried to explain.
“Hmm I got you” Kosa said as he came up and lifted me off of the ground like I weighed nothing, cradling me in his arms as he carried me back towards the village. I nestled my head against his shoulder as I felt like a baby in his strong arms.
“You know, I think this is a human thing too. The guy lifts the bride and walks through the front door and throws her on the bed after they get married.” I spoke softly as I poked at some of the red paint in Kosa's fur.
“Mmm oh yeah? And the man gets to have his way with his bride?” Kosa said with a growl again.
“Yeah something like that I think.” I said as I smiled up at Kosa and he gave me a smirk back as he looked down. We arrived at the tent and Kosa backed his way through the flap with me in his arms still, tossing me onto the padded furs and bedding.
I laid down on the bedding as I looked up at Kosa through the soft lighting in the tent. He was magnificent. This strong wild wolf looked down at me with hungering eyes and I was anxious at the thought of him having his way with me. He leaned down to the bedding on all fours and began to slowly creep towards me. I playfully backed away, letting Kosa work for me as I backed up against the edge of the tent. He carefully gripped around the band of my underwear, slipping it down and freeing my hard cock from it's confines. He eyed my cock as he threw the garment to the other side of the tent, and leaned down to my crotch and inhaled deeply. Kosa looked up into my eyes as he opened his muzzle, flashing his fangs at me as his tongue slipped out to wrap around the tip of my cock, pulling it inside. He pulled my cock deep into his muzzle until his nose rested against my crotch, as he inhaled again through his nose savoring my scent. Already this was feeling like too much as I shivered in his grip. Kosa's paws held my knees as I quivered at the pleasure he was providing me. Noticing this, Kosa backed away as he migrated his tongue lower, first to the base of my cock then to my balls, licking and pulling each one into his muzzle as they danced around his fearsome fangs but being nothing but gentle to the touch. Kosa continued licking along my balls as he moved to the side, licking along my inner thigh as I shivered at the feeling of his tongue dancing along my skin. Painfully slow Kosa continued these soft licks and some nips up along my stomach to my left nipple as he never broke eye contact. He tickled and teased around my nipple with his tongue as he nibbled softly with his fangs, moving from one to the other nipple and doing the same. At this point I was under the wolf, and completely at Kosa's mercy as he lavished my body in tongue and fang. Finally he moved his muzzle higher, coming to my throat as he opened and licked and nipped at me. He opened his maw around my jugular as he tickled his teeth along my throat, gripping it so I could feel the presence of his fangs and get a sense of danger, but never actually harming me. Finally with the full weight of his body atop of me he moved further north to my gasping mouth, diving his tongue in as I relinquished in defeat as his tongue was way stronger than mine. He moved mine along however he pleased, tugging and pulling as he explored my mouth with his tongue as he held his muzzle sideways along my gaping mouth, feeling his fangs along my cheeks as he tried his deepest most dominating kiss yet.
At this moment I had noticed his hardening member snugly trapped against his body and mine, warming my cock up as they both rubbed together mixing their copious amounts of leaking fluid. I moaned through Kosa's kiss as he reverberated a deep growl from the depths of his throat. Kosa finally pulled back from the kiss allowing me to breath as he held me to the ground, pinned underneath him. He smiled at me and I smiled back as he slipped off of me. He pulled me up from the bed to turn me around onto all fours.
“I want to fuck you like a proper wolf tonight.” Kosa growled as he slipped behind me in my vulnerable state. I could feel his cock probing my ass as the fur of his chest tickled my back. He slipped his arms down to my hands, locking me in place so I could only move if he moved as he began to slip his slick cock into my hole. I moaned as I tried to escape his advancing cock to no avail, not ready to feel his girth pierce me. Kosa's grip on my body held me steady as he spread me wide, slipping in firm until I could feel the beginning of his knot stop his advancement into me as he rested there, hilting me on his cock. Kosa's head rested on my shoulder as I could smell the wine on his breath again. He was panting with me as I felt myself being stretched to accommodate his cock.
“Mmmm you're so wonderfully tight my love.” Kosa growled into my ear as he pulled back, dragging his cock slowly from my insides as I desperately tried to grip him with my muscles. When Kosa pulled back to the tip of his cock he suddenly thrust back in, eliciting a gasp from me as he stabbed my swelling prostate with his cock and making my cock jump. Looking down I could see my cock leaking profusely as Kosa pulled back out again, getting into a rhythm of ramming his cock back into me repeatedly as my cock bounced with each jab of my prostate.
“YES! Good! Squeal for me like a proper mate should! You're mine now pup!” Kosa yelled as I moaned aloud unable to contain my pleasure as lightning bolt after lightning bolt shot through my cock. My arms began to shake as I couldn't support myself anymore, giving in to Kosa's assault on my ass as I collapsed. He continued pounding my rear as he leaned down with me, only increasing in pace as I cried out my love for him. Kosa was sending me to new heights of pleasure I had never experienced before, not even while I've known him. He was driven to fuck like an absolute animal that night thrusting into me with so much force I couldn't think straight as my prostate took a beating. I began to whine as I could feel my orgasm fast approaching.
“Kosa, I'm cumming. OH Kosa!” I yelled as I could feel my cock jump to each stab of Kosa's cock into my ass as it sprayed load after load onto the furs below us. Kosa wasn't even finished as he continued pounding my ass through my body shaking orgasm as I moaned and cried out in an overly sensitive bliss.
“Mmmm I'm not even close to done with you yet, you're going to be getting fucked all night by your alpha!” Kosa said as he continued to thrust into me. I screamed as I was reaching levels of pleasure thought unobtainable and almost too powerful to handle, but that didn't matter to Kosa as he continued to power through it all. As my first orgasm was subsiding I began to come down from my climax, my cock still bouncing hard underneath me as Kosa continued thrusting into me. I could feel the wolf gnawing and drooling over my shoulder as he fucked me into a sloppy mess of cum and drool. I began to revel in the thought of Kosa being my mate for life. Being able to bring him this pleasure daily as he could do the same for me. It began to make me quiver with anticipation again as I could feel my ass twitch and grip around Kosa's cock once again trying to coax the wolf's powerful seed from him. I could feel the wolf's thrusting start to find an unpredictable and unsteady rhythm as he thrust into me one final time with a slam, locking his knot in place and sending both of us over the edge once again. I could feel the wolf seed spill into me as I clenched my ass around his knot, trying to milk the wolf for all he was worth as my cock shot stream after stream of human cum onto the furs below me once again. In his excitement, Kosa howled a deafening howl next to my ear as he shot his load into me, then bit down hard onto my shoulder. The pain was intense, but mixed with the pleasure we were experiencing and the thought of Kosa marking me as his mate made me feel extremely grateful to have the wolf twitching and leaking inside of me.
As we both came down from our highs we collapsed on our sides in a stick mess of cum and fur still tied together. I could hear other howls bellowing outside in the night, no doubt the rest of the pack knew exactly what we had done but I couldn't find a reason to care anymore. I was Kosa's mate. And Kosa was mine. These wolves were understanding of it and would support us to the death, there was nothing to be ashamed of here.
“Kosa that was incredible once again. Better than any other time I have ever had!” I said between pants as Kosa was licking at my bite.
“Thank you so much Josh. I love you. I'm sorry for the bite, I may have gone a bit overboard.” Kosa said apologetically.
“I don't mind it, I kinda liked it actually. I bear your seal now.” I said as I gave my ass a squeeze again as Kosa whined, feeling his sensitive knot twitch and spurt another load of cum.
“Oh no you don't, if you're going to do that I get to have some revenge!” Kosa said as he reached around with his paw and gripped my extremely sensitive cock.
“Ah! Kosa! Hhnnng!” I struggled as he began stroking my cock almost immediately after two very strong orgasms. I struggled in his grip as I tried to remove his paw, but he grasped my arms with his other and had me trapped in his grip, tied to his cock and being pumped in his paw.
“Kosa! Hnnng! Unf!” I struggled as he continued pumping me through the sensitive part until I began building up to another climax. The pleasure was still extremely overwhelming as I felt Kosa lick my neck and the side of my face, but I learned to get used to the wolf's strong grip on my cock as I tried to get some payback, squeezing my ass around his knot as he would whine and thrust with each tension.
“I can already tell we're going to be in for a long night!” Kosa growled as he started thrusting softly into me as we laid on our sides with my cock in his grip.
“I don't know if I'd have it any other way.”
