Calm Waters Chapter Two
Imported from SF2 with no description.
(Kyle)
The eyes that came ever closer belonged to a Naga. "Oh This is going to be fun" I thought sarcastically as I was strapped into the chair so tight that I could not move a single muscle. A human like hand gently caressed my cheek for a moment before I was brought to look into those eyes which were swirling with a plethora of colors.
I began to get lose in those colors as they swirled every which way. As I did though I began to feel as if something was closing in on me mentally. My mental presence seemed to be shrinking, Feeling a sudden mental panic I shouted an then I was no longer aware of my body.
Instead I was in the deepest recess of my mind, and a few meters in front of me stood the fox from before and a snake. Both were circling one another and seemed to be about ready to fight. The fox spoke and his words were carried to me through the intervening distance as if he were right beside me.
"So you managed to overpower the human part of this mind, Congratulations there that's no small feat. But with him out of the way you now have to deal with the animal side and I won't be so nice." As the fox spoke he drew twin blades from seemingly thin air as he continued to circle. I recognized the blades, How could I not when I had designed them?
"Love and Mercy" I said softly in half disbelief. The swords were named such because Love once it cut into the opponent would sample their memories and any recent pain that had been inflicted upon another would rebound upon them at double strength.
Mercy contained a deadly neurotoxin which once it hit the victim's bloodstream would began to rapidly eat the body from the inside. If left unchecked the victim would be consumed from the inside and then transform into a cherry blossom tree that Sukura could manipulate.
Apparently everything from my stories was coming to life right in front of my eyes. The Naga struck out at my fox inhumanly fast as it was deadly. My Fox didn't seem worried only snapping up a sword into position and seemingly instantly blocking the deadly bite. The Naga's eyes widened out of respect, fear, or pain I could not tell. Instead of withdrawing like I expected it struck with it's hands but the attack was parried with the other sword.
The pair separated almost casually as if this deadly dance was nothing more than an act they had practiced so many times that it was second nature. The fox did not seem to be ruffled by the brief clash as he struck out this time and the Naga nimbly danced through the strikes though the fox seemed as if he was testing the Naga rather than attempting to kill them.
"Nifty little snake aren't you." said the fox seemingly only amused. "Not to bad yourself" commented the Naga back as they rounded on one another. "Small difference between you and I though." The snake didn't say anything back only lunged forward and as they rejoined the snake found himself suddenly on the defensive."I adapt." replied the fox as his two swords had changed into a single rapier. Quick on his feet the fox struck with deadly accuracy though it didn't seem to do much good. He didn't hit any vital areas. Though the question was what sword he morphed. If it was Mercy then my snaky friend cold blooded as he was would soon die. If it had been love well...Snake brain wasn't reacting to anything.
Soon the combat resumed and it was unclear which side was winning though the fox seemed to have the slightest advantage. It seemed to take forever but finally the snake began to show signs of weakness and with a final thrust the fox impaled the snake through the brain. The snake's presence vanished from our mind and then the fox turned towards me weapon at the ready.
"Rise" they said to me and I struggled to obey. My mental state was so weak that I just wanted to black out but I gritted my teeth and forced myself to stand. "Good." said the fox before saying "Defend yourself!" I gave them a blank look but they lunged at me and I was forced to dodge. However in doing such I remembered something I had read in a book somewhere on meditation techniques. "The Mind is shaped by your will and within it's confines you are in complete control."
Before the fox in front of me could blink I had a weapon of the plant variety. A swarm of cherry blossoms grabbed the fox and slammed him into the wall. He struck out as if to attack them but the sword had difficulty. "It's forged of my flowers and my blood. I should know being I wrote it into existence. It won't harm my plants or me." I stretched out my hand and summoned the sword to my hand. The fox tried to resist but I clearly I had the upper hand. "My mind, my rules." I said simply before pointing the sword at him. "Yield...or die." The fox in question began to laugh softly. "That will do my human that will do nicely."
Sensing no further need for aggression I had the mindscape revert to it's natural formless shape. "Time for you to wake Kyle. Remember that my power is now yours, as it always has been. When you wake up I suggest that you run for it."
Once outside in the waking world I found the Naga dead or at least unconscious at my feet. I flexed my arms and the chair groaned before it seemingly snapped open. I frowned then realized I was currently transformed to my fox form which I guess must have increased my strength.
I quickly made my escape upwards into the light and though it hurt my eyes I was soon running back towards my dorm a plan forming in my mind as I ran.
