Part 3

Bursting through the flaps of the massive tent as Kazie yelled for a healer. A mature African wild dog by the name of Msia was the closest medicine man. He was the first to respond and had Kazie carry James over to an empty exam table. Not sure how to help him Kazie went and woke Ikeno and his friends so they could. The trio jumped in to assist the elder canine as he began to stabilize James' vitals.

Duma a forty six year old cheetah pulled Kazie aside and asked what happened. Explaining everything as it occurred to the feline until Ketria unleashed a loud roar. It took the combined strength of Kazie, Texra and Lenecia to keep her at bay. "Ketria, you panicking won't help James please calm down so the healers can work." Texra said. Her soft words reached the emotional hyena as she crumbled to the ground.

Kazie hugged her sister's neck as tears streaked down her face as they watched. Ikeno shared in the troupe's concern for James and right now there's work to be done. "Msia, I need to know how bad my friend's wound is and will he survive surgery?" He asked. Looking over at the young warrior and the expression he received wasn't a good one. "Relax, boy Msia is trying to figure out that very thing before he begins." Duma replied.

"Why don't you let your friends take over and go comfort them in the meantime? I promise to inform you the second, Msia makes his diagnosis regarding James." He added. With a firm sigh Ikeno moved aside, walked to where Kazie and the others were. Poor Ketria was a shaking mess despite her troupe's best attempts to comfort her. She perked up when she sensed Ikeno standing there then gestured him over.

Moving closer to the kneeling female as she took his hands into her large ones. Soon Lenecia, Texra and Kazie joined them then the group shared a small prayer. Reaching into one of his back pouches and pulled out a cloth and gave it to Ketria. She took it from him and used the cloth to clean her face as Duma approached. "I've got good news James will survive the blade missed his heart and lung." He began.

Relief washed over everyone to some extent as the cheetah continued to speak. "Msia is currently getting him stable enough to be transported to a nearby hospital. Neither of us have the know how to treat such a severe wound like James has. Also Ikeno you wouldn't happen to know how to work one of these foreign devices?" Duma replied. Next he handed the young leopard James' sat-phone then pointed at the screen.

Fortunately Ikeno did as he dialed the number and waited for an answer. Sure enough a female voice replied then he explained the situation as it was happening. Turns out Lady Najuma picked up the phone and told Ikeno assistance was on-route. It would be at least three hours before she and the medical team arrives at the Grotto. As he hung up the phone Ikeno noticed Msia beginning to bandage James' wound.

"Everyone he's stable until whoever Ikeno spoke with on that thing gets here." Msia stated. One at a time walked over to the table where James lay then placed a hand on him. Seeing this, the elder wild dog could see these four women truly cared for James. Ikeno was the last to come over but, he decided to examine the bandage Msia used. Only to make sure that nothing happens when Lady Najuma finally does arrive.

While they waited Ketria refused to leave James side despite work left to be done. "Okay, little sister you're in charge of watching over him while we help the wounded. Luckily there's not many left that require James' skills as a fully trained surgeon. Though they still need care but, do let us know the moment James comes around." Kazie said. Gently tapping her head against Kazie's as everyone resumed assisting the healers.

Taking one of his hands into hers then prayed to the gods her old tribe worshiped. Hoping that James pulls through with no complications when help finally arrives. James slept soundly even when Lady Najuma walked into the busy medical tent. With at least four skilled surgeons right behind her and they didn't waste anytime. One of the four surgeons walked towards James but, he couldn't get anywhere near him.

Seeing as Ketria wasn't about to permit him anywhere near the injured human. Growling with teeth fully bared until she felt someone grab a hold of her short tail. Her head snapped around and found herself looking at James then she backed off. With a loud snort she did as he asked though Ketria watched them come closer. "You can relax Kumali, is one of the best surgeons in the northern region." Najuma said.

"I don't care who he is he tries anything I'll rip his head clear off his shoulders." Ketria warned. Kumali flinched backwards upon hearing her threat and agreed to her terms. Next the surgeon asked the warrior if she wanted to assist with James' surgery. Lady Najuma watched with intrigue as Ketria didn't hesitate to help the white lion. First the pair got cleaned up, put on fresh scrubs then moved into the operating tent.

While they were busy Najuma decided to check on the others in the meantime. Staying just out of sight as she observed Kazie and her troupe assisting the healers. It was a shock to see them helping the injured instead of stealing from the tribes. Apparently James must be quite the negotiator or perhaps they've fallen for him. Especially how defensive Ketria became when they approached James moments ago.

<Curious how could four rogue hyenas fall for such a common human being. Granted he's got quite the reputation in these parts but, he's far from a native. Despite what ever pact he may have with them I intend to see all of them punished. After all they raided several tribes and each of them are demanding justice. First things first I need to speak with James about the pact he has with them.> She thought.

"Excuse me if you're not going to help out than could you please wait outside." Lenecia said. Najuma kindly stepping out of the way as the towering hyena continued on her way. Shock appeared on the lioness' face in response to the manners the rogue displayed. What she didn't know was the fact that she was being watched by Texra herself. "I don't know what you're planning Lady Najuma but, you won't succeed." She said.

Duma was the first to notice her watching the regally dressed lioness intently. Something in his gut told him they have a history or Texra doesn't trust Najuma. The cheetah couldn't blame her considering the reputation her father made for himself. Either way Texra knew better than to violate the promise she had made to James. If the lioness did pose a threat she wouldn't hesitate to protect him and her troupe.

In the meantime she'll watch the lioness closely until she finally makes her move. For now there's still work to be done as she resumed quietly resumed working. Back inside of the surgery tent Kumali stitched up all the damaged blood vessels. Ketria proved to be quite the assistant as the male lion finished patching James up. "You're friend was awful lucky the blade missed his organs and major arteries." He began.

"However the blade did damage his pectoral muscles I fixed them the best I could. He'll still have use of his left arm but, he won't have a hundred percent mobility. I managed to restore at least seventy percent as for the rest that remains to be seen. Overall James should recover nicely and will wake up in a couple of hours." Kumali stated. With that the white lion left the room to wash up while Ketria put on fresh bandages.

As the morning gave way to the mid afternoon all the injured had been cared for. Though the anesthesia is slowly wearing off hence why James hasn't awoken. Ketria moved him to a part of the main tent where he was isolated from everyone. This would also allow Kazie and the others to keep a close eye out for treachery. Around dinner time James' eyes opened then he was surrounded by four happy hyenas.

Each one took great care to avoid his left side since it was tender from surgery. Ketria made sure he drank something while Texra brought him some lite to eat. All the while being watched from a relatively safe distance by Lady Najuma herself. That wasn't lost on Texra as she stood up straight then turned directly in her direction. Naturally this got Kazie's attention as she looked over at the gold colored lioness.

"I'd like for all of you to leave the room so I may speak with James in private." She said. Texra let out a low but, firm growl stating that she wasn't about to leave them alone. Seeing Texra's reaction something told James, Najuma was up to something. "Lady Najuma what ever you have to say to me can be said with everyone present." James replied. Of course that didn't sit too well with her and it clearly showed on the lioness' face.

"As you wish James but, let me ask you what are your plans for this troupe? Knowing that all of them are wanted by several tribes for acts of violence and piracy. They may be in your custody but, the price on their heads is too high to ignore. Seeing as I'm here James, Kazie, you and your troupe will be coming with me." She began. Before things could escalate out of control another voice decided to intervene.

"Lady Najuma I'm afraid you can't do that if you do you'll violate sacred law. If I know your father he's still clings to tradition and wouldn't dare violate them. For you see James and Ketria are courting one another and will be married soon. After all she's been allowing James to rest against her body despite his injuries. I've got a feeling that the others desire to become James' future brides as well." Msia stated.

"You know the punishment for coming between two hearts soon to be wed right?" Duma added. Najuma flinched where she sat knowing very well what'll happen if she tried anything. The look on the lioness' face couldn't compare to Kazie and the other's faces. Upon hearing both elder males reveal such startling information regarding them. Granted Najuma was less than pleased about this turn of events but, didn't fight it.

"If you'll excuse me I need to go make a phone call please don't go anywhere." Najuma replied. With that she got up from the exam table she was sitting on and walked out of the tent. Not long after she left Texra glanced at James then took off after the lioness. Something about the look the hyena gave him said Najuma was up to something. Naturally Kazie wanted to give chase until James grabbed her wrist stopping her.

"Kazie, let Texra handle this, my gut is telling me those two have a history. Put your trust in her to do the right thing once she learns what's really going on, okay." James said. Twisting her arm around then took his hand into hers and gave it a gentle squeeze. Silently telling him that she was placing her trust in the human as they waited patiently. Outside the tent Najuma was dialing on her expensive looking satellite phone.

As Texra walked stealthy behind her listening to the conversation she was having. While memories from the hyena's past resurfaced while she clinched her fists. Sadly the power of her grip caused her knuckles to crack gaining Najuma's attention. Spinning around only to come face to face with Texra and froze where she stood. Unable to control herself Texra released an unholy roar that made the ground shake.

Falling to the ground in a panic Najuma feared the worse and closed her eyes. "Pathetic someone of your breeding should at least face me like a true warrior. You and your father have much to answer for after what you did to my homeland. Being of royal blood when I make a promise I'll see it through right to the end." She stated. Next she clutched the gold lioness by the throat then hoisted her easily into the air.

"Texra, put her down right now, have you forgotten our promise to James?" Kazie asked. Whipping her head in her leader's direction then sourly released the feline. For the first time since joining Kazie's troupe Texra was about to challenge her. Until a gentle hand was placed upon her hip forcing her attention down at James. Seeing him despite just having surgery gave Texra a much needed reality check.

"It's not worth ruining your life over something as petty as revenge highness. Though if you want justice I know some high ranking people that can help you. Please calm down and think like a true tribal leader should in a situation like this." He replied. Staring into his eyes intently and only found the simple truth he expressed. With a heavy sigh Texra knelt down and pulled the injured human into her arms.

Taking extreme care not to place any pressure on his freshly stitched wound. "As you wish human I'll leave what happened in the past and look to the future. Forgive me for everything that I've done my emotions got away from me, James." Texra admitted. Whispering into her ear that there's nothing to forgive then kissed her cheek. The sweet gesture made the hyena jump though didn't stop the tears from falling.

"Lady Najuma I appreciate the surgeons you brought here to heal the injured. You also have my personal thanks for asking Kumali to come here to patch me up. Sadly I think you've over stayed your welcome and time you should return home. As for Kazie and her troupe they'll be coming with me back to the United States. Tell your father and the tribes seeking justice and tell them the following." James began.

"By coming with me to my homeland as a means of exile from their native home. I'm certain your father the viceroy will find this arrangement more than reasonable." He said. Najuma didn't say anything she laid there on the ground looking up at everyone. "Mr. Vomone I have no qualms about that kind of punishment." A voice replied. Everyone turned to the source and saw Najuma's father standing with two escorts.

"Chief Texra, there's much I regret since becoming the military viceroy. No event will haunt me the most than the injustice done to you and your people. Granted my words mean precious little but, those few that survived work for me. They're presently working to restore the tribes that were forced to leave their lands. If you don't believe than allow these pictures to prove what I say as the truth." He said.

Next he handed his tablet to James so that he could show the pictures to Texra. As she viewed the photos with tears streaming down her face she hugged James. Seeing the relief on the former chief's face seeing her people making a difference. It was the closure the former leader has been searching for since joining Kazie's troupe. Unable to help himself James rubbed his cheek against her's earning a happy murr.

"A leader is nothing without their people, I'm holding you to your word Viceroy. Exile be damned I'll come back and personally split you right down the middle. You and I both know that I'm very capable of such a feat of raw strength, Shomari." Texra stated. The aging male lion jumped back upon hearing her threat but, happily complied. Considering he's seen just how terrifyingly powerful the former chieftain can be.

Before tensions spiraled out of control the elite guards of the Grotto appeared. They asked the viceroy, his daughter and escorts to kindly leave these sacred lands. So the Peace Core can finish their work here before they're needed someplace else. "Actually, Captain my job here is almost done all I have to do is call headquarters. They'll send someone from the office in Bangui to take over my duties here." James said.

"How long do you think it'll be before relief arrives, James?" The Captain asked. He told him if he calls them tonight they should be here in roughly three days time. In addition he'd be well enough to travel back to the United States without complications. Of course once he locates the satellite phone that he brought on this mission. Ikeno found the courage to approach everyone and returned the device to him.

Bidding the viceroy and his entourage farewell James began dialing his superiors. Meanwhile Kazie discretely pulled Texra aside where she could answer some questions. Considering that a lot of new information had been revealed during the viceroy's visit. To be more specific the startling fact that Texra happens to be a Chieftain. That fact alone bothered Kazie that one of her troupe had been lying all this time.

She apologized to her for keeping such information from her but, had her reasons. At the time she joined Kazie and the others, her land had become a chaotic battlefield. Texra and her warriors did everything they could to defend their home only to fail. What warriors survived the initial onslaught helped get the innocents out of there. Leaving her and select few to hold the line until Texra was all that was left alive.

As things settled down and she recovered Texra went in search of her people. That's how she came upon Kazie, Ketria and Lenecia then earned a place among them. "Kazie you would've treated me differently if had told you about my royal breeding. I figured keeping such info from you, it'd be safer for all parties involved." Texra admitted. Kazie was quiet clearly lost in thought after gaining insight into her deception.

"Honestly I'm not thrilled but, if things were different I would've done the same. Just promise me and the others in the future you'll be more trusting of your troupe." Kazie replied. The pair shared a hug then rejoined the others where they went back into the tent. Seeing as there was still plenty of work to do until James' relief arrived. Like James had said after three days, a small team appeared from the Bangui office.

It was a long three day drive back to the city where a representative was waiting. "Mr. Vomone I'm from the Embassy in regards to asylum for four rogue hyenas." She said. Shaking the wolfess' hand then James followed her into a conference room. Where for the next four and half hours they discussed terms regarding Kazie's troupe. Not exactly the patient type Kazie paced back and forth grumbling to herself.

Than jumped and cursed in her native tongue when the door opened suddenly. Out stepped the female wolf from the Embassy and sauntered down the corridor. Everyone waited patiently for James to exit next but, panicked when he didn't. Sure enough after a few tense minutes he finally stepped out into the hallway. Though the look on his face said their long conversation didn't go as he planned.

"Umm, James will we be leaving Africa to start over in the United States?" Ketria asked. Leaning up against the wall then rubbed his face before giving her any sort of answer. "I won't mince words my government doesn't want any part of this. Therefore you'll be left to your own devices here and I'm not about to let it happen. What she failed to realize if all of us marry then you can come with me." He replied.

"Let me get this straight if we marry you than they have to grant us asylum?" Kazie countered. All James said was for them to talk this over in private he needed some fresh air. Meanwhile Kazie, her sister and the others entered the board room to converse. They didn't waste time discussing what James hinted at before stepping outside. Poor James simply couldn't catch a break first Callie, next his injury and now this.

<Seriously what's a guy have to do to catch a little good fortune for a change.> He thought. As fate would have it decided to grant the human the very thing he prayed for. When he heard footsteps approaching from the rear it caused him to turn around. "James, the others and I would like to speak with you inside when you're ready." Lenecia said. With that said the seven foot, six inch tall female hyena reentered the building.

Sighing calmly to himself then rose to his feet and made his way back inside. Where the others were waiting for him out in the hallway outside the board room. Motioning him to follow them inside the room and shut the door then sat down. "Since we've met you, you've been nothing short of generous and straight forward. You even went so far as to sacrifice yourself to save me from our enemies." Kazie began.

"Little sister you've been the only one among us to see what's inside of James' heart. Especially after detecting that his heart was broken not long after he arrived here. It took me so long to notice personally while you did the moment your retrieved him. After tackling the vehicle he was driving and sent it tumbling rather violently. I refer to you little sister what do you think we should do because I'm lost here?" She stated.

"Before you answer do all of you recall asking if we'll be able to stay in touch?" James interrupted. All four women looked over at him and nodded remembering that conversation. "Not to force your decision but, if you do agree to be my wives you get to stay with me. Where you'd be treated to a life that you deserve. Just like I promised all of you on the night our paths in life merged." James added.

Without any warning on her part Texra snuck up behind the human and knelt down. Purposely brushing her muzzle against his cheek then wrapped him in her arms. James jumped a little then found himself trying to keep a certain appendage quiet. Considering Texra's titanic sixty double O cup tits were pressed against his back. Even tickling the back of his neck turning his face a wide assortment of red.

"James where ever you go we will be there with you every step of the way." Texra smiled. Sure enough the others joined in Texra's sentiment as everyone approached him. One by one they hugged James, until he begged to be let go so he could breathe. Not that he minded being smothered by four rather massively endowed women. Suddenly a knock ebbed from the door so James gave them permission to enter.

"Larry what in the hell are you doing here in Africa and who's that behind you?" James asked. The badger didn't waste time explaining who the person behind him happened to be. "Your boss isn't lying, James I am the Chairman of the Peace Core, Kyle Rooth. When I heard what happened and your attempts to bring these ladies with you. We booked a ourselves red eye flight directly here to help you out." He pointed out.

Next the Chairman gave James a small envelope, shook his hand and stepped out. Leaving Larry alone with everyone where he had something to tell the group. "I'm sorry that all of this happened to you, you've been a loyal member of the Core. Those plane tickets and this are a small way of saying thank you for all you've done. It's been a pleasure working with you and let me know if you or they need anything." Larry said.

"What are you saying Larry that I'm being terminated due to my recent injury?" James asked. His tone of voice matched the concern on his face then Larry raised his hand up. Silently telling the human not to get ahead of himself and allow him to explain. "No, you're not being fired James you're being put on reserve status. Seeing as you've got four ladies to get settled in back home first." Larry replied.

"You're right my friend perhaps with this time off I can fulfill another dream." James stated. Fortunately the badger was well aware of the dream the human was talking about. While Kazie and the others listened curiously as to what both males were discussing. "I've always wanted to open my own business but, never had the time. Though it won't be easy and I could use some noble warriors to help." He added.

"Just twist our arms already James of course we're going to help you with this." Kazie smiled. Clapping his hands together Larry bid the group farewell and the best of luck. As the mature badger exited the board room, James' wound began throbbing. Placing a hand on it as he tried to fight off the pain as it slowly became stronger. Reaching into her satchel Lenecia grabbed the little pouch of herbal pain reliever.

Next she took his shirt off then removed the bandage before applying the paste. Not long after she changed the wrappings James' pain slowly began to fade away. Thanking Lenecia as he put his shirt back on making the female hyena blush slightly. "Our flight isn't for a few hours I've got enough time to get my things from the hotel. Along with filing my report for this mission before we need to head for the terminal." James said.

Ketria asked if she could tag along to the hotel and help him fetch his belongings. Seeing as the doctors stressed that James not to try to do any sort of heavy lifting. "Kazie are you, Texra and Lenecia going to be okay until we come back here?" He wondered. Telling James to relax they'd be waiting for him once he's gotten all of his stuff. With that they headed for the car port where they took a truck over to the hotel.

James decided to change first then packed all of his things into his suitcases. Once securely closed Ketria grabbed all three cases and brought them to the car. While James checked out of the hotel then paid for the time he spent as a guest. By the time he got the receipt Ketria returned but, wasn't alone as she joined him. Not liking the looks on the two individuals so James decided to cut them off.

"They pose you no threat Mr. Vomone nor do I, all I ask is a moment of your time." A voice said. To James and Ketria's surprise Viceroy Shomari had followed them to Bangui. Next Ketria gave a soft but, firm growl made both of the viceroy's escorts flinch. "Easy, Ketria let's hear the Viceroy out before we do anything, alright." James stated. Nodding okay then knelt down next to James but, watched the viceroy very closely.

He didn't say much just handed James a leather satchel with an unusual crest. "When you see Texra again hand this to her it was a lost keep sake of her tribe. Not long after her tribe and others were scattered this satchel was brought to me. Judging from the crest's detail it might have belonged to a Chieftain or elder. Seeing as you're leaving I promised your friends to get this to you beforehand." He said.

It was a travel bag filled with all sorts of dried meats, berries and trinkets. Small tokens of thanks from all the people James and the tribal healers treated. When James looked up, Shomari and his escorts had already taken their leave. Shrugging it off the pair headed back out to the car and drove back to the office. As the sedan pulled into the car port the others had been waiting outside for them.

Ketria found it hard to get in and out of the full size sedan so James rented a van. This way there'd be plenty of space for all four warriors could travel in one vehicle. One of the mechanics tagged along so he could bring the van back to the car port. During the drive James gave the satchel to Texra and learned it wasn't from her tribe. Though it was a chieftain's bag but, she did appreciate the viceroy's noble gesture.

The other bag full of goodies James asked Ketria to divide everything up evenly. While James focused on navigating through city and turned onto the highway on-ramp. Driving straight to the airport terminal hoping to avoid long lines at baggage claim. "Mr. Vomone these tickets are for a private charter plane please go to gate forty. If you have any questions please talk to the receptionist there." The leopard informed.

Thanking her the group quickly made their way to the private sector of the airport. Handed over their tickets, passports and luggage before climbing aboard the plane. Where the stewardess began explaining the dos and don'ts when everyone sat down. Seatbelts proved to be far more interesting than James thought as he put them on. Seeing as his head bumped against both Lenecia's and Ketria's rather huge breasts.

Granted he apologized for it but, they didn't seem to notice or care it happened. Kazie was able to put her's on after helping with Texra's while James took his seat. Once his belt was fastened it wasn't long before the jet's engines began to power up. Not expecting it James quickly soothed the frazzled warriors the best he could. Especially when the plane began to speed up as it traveled down the long runway.

This was a nonstop flight back to James' home town in the United States. During the flight James called his landlord and told him when he would be landing. Also asking him to rent a large cargo van since he's bringing some company. With an alright from the feline he'd be waiting for James and his guests to arrive. Knowing for a fact he's going to be doing a ton of explaining to his landlord and family.

To be continued.
