The Memory. . .

"Hey Marc! Wait up!" Yelled the fox. He was an arctic fox who went by the name of Aiden with his fur as pure white as the snow in the winter, stunning blue eyes that you would just lose yourself in, and lightly shaded brown hair on top of his head.

"You're just slow!"I yelled back at him. I continued to run up the hill that was covered with lushes green grass. As I reached the top, I looked out onto the open land and saw all of the people. There were many different species of them. There were wolves, lions, tigers, foxes and more. As I stood up top the hill, I leaned against the tree and took in a huge breath of the fresh air from the wind that was blowing right into my face. As I enjoyed this moment, my friend came up from behind me and stood next to me.

"Your always in such a hurry you know that," my friend told me, practically out of breath.

"I think you're just out of shape."I stated smartly. I was a rare breed. I'm a tiger with pure white fur from head to toe with black stripes going all down my sides except for my hands and feet which were all black. I continued to look down on the people who were all playing and noticed one waving at us so we waved back. She was a wolf known as Aky. Her fur was always extremely soft and radiated white during the day, but glowed a beautiful silver at night. But unlike other wolves she was unique. She had beautiful, pure white wings on her back. She came up to us and greeted us both.

"Hey Marc, Aiden" she said as she gave a hug to both of us.

"So Aky. Can you fly with those wings yet? Or are they still for show?" I said as another smart remark.

"Sh-Shut up Marc!!!" She replied while blushing immensely.

"Come on man, take it easy on her." Aiden told me.

"Alright, alright! I'm sorry! It was a bad joke. Will you forgive me Aky?" I asked with pleading eyes.

"No!"

"Oh come on. Please?" I asked yet again.

She then proceeded to punch me in my arm. "There," she said, "now I forgive you."

"Ow! Even if you are a girl you still punch like a guy." I stated in pain.

"Well you shouldn't have pissed her off then."

"Shut up Aiden!"

"Now, now. What seems to be the problem here?" Asked the cat. This guy's name was Carson. He was a fairly short cat with fur as dark as the night sky, and eyes as red as the fires from hell. I know he seems like the most evil guy you could ever come by, but that's just how he looks. He's a really nice guy at heart. Standing next to him was his brother. His name was Cyrus. His fur was also pure black all over his body except for his hands and feet. They were covered with white fur. He tended to try and act tough but he was also a softy at heart.

"Nothing Carson." What are you doing here? I thought you had stuff you needed to do?" I asked confused.

"Well I did. But I got them all done. When I did I decided to find you guys." Carson replied.

"Guys," said Cyrus, "we got company."

We all looked behind us and noticed a humongous mass of people running in our direction. We had two choices. One would be to run away and hope they don't catch us. Or two, which we took for the sake of the people on the other side of the hill. We would stay and fight.

"Everyone ready?" I asked them.

"Yea!" They all said together.

"Let's kick some ass!!!" I said as we charged at them.

In the blink of an eye Carson was already down there. He had the ability to move super fast. By the time we caught up to him, he had already taken out nearly 30 people. Aiden was the next one to get up there. He spread his hands out to his side, rose them up into the air above his head, clasped them together, and finally slammed them down to the ground. What followed was a huge wave a fire that took out nearly 40 to 50 people.

Cyrus, Aky, and me all arrived at the same time. Cyrus was the quickest to act. He launched himself up into the air and created a tidal wave of water that was nearly 30 feet high and took out another 40 people. Aky is the next to act. She stops and focuses on the enemies in front of her. As she focuses more and more, I start to see little glimmers of light forming all over the place. And within 3 seconds, Aky formed a crystal stalagmite and took out another group of 20 enemies.

Now it was my turn to attack. I hesitated before doing anything for fear of what could happen. I still hadn't gotten my powers fully down, and I kept screwing up a bunch while practicing. I cleared that out of my head though and focused on what was in front of me. I put my hands together, pulled them into my side, and thrust them forward. I was completely embarrassed by what happened next. I got launched backwards and ran straight into a tree and was dazed for the rest of the fight.

When I came to, the fight had ended. The first thing I noticed was that Aiden was carrying Aky. Apparently Aky got into trouble during the fight and Aiden saved her. The next thing I noticed was that Carson was tending to Cyrus. Cyrus had a cut extending all the way down his back. I looked down in disappointment and tears started to form in my eyes. Everyone looked over at me now.

"Marc, are you alright?" Aiden asked me.

"No," I answered him, "no I'm not alright. Because I can't seem to be able to do anything right. I got my friends hurt and wasn't able to do anything about it. I'm just a completely useless failure who should go die in a ditch somewhere."

With that last statement, Carson, walked over to me and punched me in the face. I looked at him in surprise.

"You listen to me Marc and you listen well. You are not useless. You are far from it. You are our best friend and we would all be sad if you died. And if you think that you can't control your ability then train. If that doesn't work train more. And if that doesn't work, then I'll just beat the crap out of you until you do learn how to use it. Listen, we will always be here for you Marc. You're not alone. If you need help, we'll be there."

I thought to myself for a minute or two. I finally stood up and said, "Thank you Carson. I will get better, and I will protect you all."

"That's what I want to hear. Now come on, let's all go home."

We all talked as we walked home about what happened, and other random stuff. We all started splitting up as we continued walking, because each person lived somewhere further than the last. It finally got down to me and my best friend Aiden.

"So what are you planning on doing tomorrow Aiden? Anything special?" I asked.

"Actually, me and Aky were gonna go hang out together if that's alright." He replied.

"Oooo the ladies man now are we? I'm just kidding. It's alright. I'll just train some more to get stronger and get my skills better. Well I'm off here. See ya Aiden." I said as I walked away.

"See ya!" He replied and waved as I continued to walk away.

Finally home. Oh how I have missed you today. I thought to myself. I walked into my house and instantly knew that something was wrong. But before I could react to anything, my head got struck by some object and I blacked out.

I woke up and looked at myself. I was back to normal. Back to being human. I took a look around the room next. I was on a fairly old looking bed. I noticed that there was wood flooring and that there was one window to the right of me a couple of feet. There were also two chairs in the room. There was a man, or should I say creature, sitting in one of them.

"You," I stated with a serious tone, "I've seen you before. I also saw you in my dream. Who are you?"

"First," the man/creature stated, "that wasn't a dream. That was a memory of yours from a long time ago. And secondly," he said as he stood up and walked over to me, "I am you."
