Things are changing as Eric tries to help his pack and his Alpha heal from his betrayal. His loyalty to his dragon and his loyalty to his pack tear at him. How can he make them all happy? First he must fix things with his Alpha. He sees the wise woman elder wolf for advice. The words she speaks he knows to be true but it causes him to tremble with fear. Can he withstand what is necessary to make his Alpha happy again? Can he keep his dragon mate from interfering?

Eric snuggles up against Kell, his dragon mate, in their cave. The dragon had found it the first day after lunch with Eric. Kell had told him that he knew he would be staying in the area as he was completely mesmerized by his body and his tender heart. Eric did not want to contradict his dragon so he kept quiet.

Lying next to his dragon, Eric is in his human form, his mate prefers it. He misses his wolf, but he can only shift if he is on his pack's territory. Well it is not that Kell tells him that he cannot shift but Eric knows Kell prefers it so he stays in his human form to please him. His body aches to shift back to his wolf.

"Kell, wake up." He nudges the dragon.

"Wha..." The dragon rolls over and pulls Eric to him. Eric feels Kell growing behind him, pushing against his bottom.

"I don't have time, Kell, I have to get back before the sun rises."

Kell growls and Eric yelps, suddenly shifting back into a wolf.

"Hey, it's alright, I'm just grumpy in the morning especially when it is not even morning yet."

Eric shifts back and Kell pulls him tight against him, licking the side of his neck and down over the bite mark on his shoulder where he marked him as his mate. "I will miss you today." He swirls his tongue over the mark.

Eric's skin prickles as the dragon activates the mark making him hard and wanting to stay. "I will miss you too. I'll try not to be so late tonight." He sits up and the dragon's tongue darts out and wraps around his tender flesh between his legs. He tightens his tongue around him.

Eric groans. “Damn… Kell, no fair." He begins to pant as Kell quickly brings him to an orgasm, cupping the flat of his tongue in front of it as the tip milks him dry. He finally lets go, bringing Eric's seed into his mouth, swallowing it down.

“Mmmmm, I love tasting you first thing in the morning." He sees the look on Eric's face. “Alright, let's go, I don't want you to get in trouble with the almighty Alpha."

“Kell…"

“I apologize; it's just getting harder and harder to stay away from you. I think I'm a little jealous that they get to have you all day and do such wicked things to your body. Or at least they did before I got you into trouble."

Eric leans forward and licks along Kell's muzzle. the very tip of Kell's tongue pokes out between his teeth and Eric grabs it, sucking the tip into his mouth. The dragon groans. Eric lets go and backs up.

The dragon huffs, "They work you too hard, even more now than before I claimed you."

"I have to rebuild their trust. I lied to them, dragon, my pack does not forgive easily."

"But they hurt you." He growls.

"I can take it, it won't be like this forever. Things will settle down and be like it was before. They are hurting from my betrayal and I will do whatever I can to help them through it. In time they will forgive me.

"But who will take care of you?" The dragon almost whines and Eric suppresses a laugh knowing Kell is worried about him.

"You take care of me. I never have to worry about anything once I am here with you. I've never had that before, it means everything to me."

Kell nuzzles him and purrs. "Come on, I don't want the Alpha to get upset if you're late." Kell and Eric walk out the cave opening and Eric climbs up onto Kell, wrapping his legs and arms around him.

It only takes a few minutes for Kell to fly Eric to their territory border. Eric slips off his back, kisses his muzzle, shifts and runs off into the woods. The dragon lets out a long breath.

: Think of me. : The dragon calls out to him in his mind.

: I always do. :

Eric barely makes it to the pack house before the sun begins to rise. He hears the Alpha in his office as he moves around the kitchen getting breakfast ready. He suddenly feels arms wrap around him, startling him. It is not often when he is caught unaware.

Denton nuzzles his neck. "You always smell like that dragon now." He whines.

"He is my mate."

"Don't remind me."

Eric feels Denton growing hard behind him. "I need to finish breakfast before I can tend to your needs."

Denton continues rubbing himself against him as he whimpers. "I miss you, I miss being able to sneak into your bed at night. I miss waking up with you sometimes. I wish..." Denton pulls away, pours himself a cup of coffee and sits at the table.

Eric keeps working, cutting potatoes, onions, heating the oil in the pan, whipping up the eggs. He has to feed about twenty people every morning, mostly the unmated of the pack, at least the older ones as the younger ones still live with their parents. Breakfast is always his duty. The other meals he helps with if he is not needed elsewhere but breakfast is his. He usually enjoys it though, as most are still asleep.

He frowns, worrying over what to do about Denton. He has become needier since the Dragon claimed him. Of course the more needy he becomes, the more Eric wants to tend to him. It pulls at him that one of the pack is hurting the way Denton is, there just is not much he can do about it.

The Alpha walks into the kitchen and Eric holds his head low. "Good morning, Alpha, is there anything I can do for you?" Eric forces himself not to get on the floor, belly up, as he has to keep cooking. Ever since the dragon claimed him things have not been the same between Eric and the Alpha. He did not know what to do about that either. The Alpha no longer called him to soothe him in the evenings and his mood is getting worse by the day. He has to find a way to make it up to him, to clear the air between them, but how?

"No." The Alpha growls. "I just want some coffee." He is already pouring it for himself not giving the Omega a chance to do it for him. Eric's heart aches. As long as the Alpha is not happy, the pack is not happy which makes Eric even more miserable. He decides it is time to seek out Arelia's council, maybe she will have the solution. She has been advising the pack longer than any other. Eric is not sure how old she is just that her muzzle has been white since he was a cub.

After breakfast he takes Denton to his old room. They had not assigned it to anyone yet. He pushes Denton down as soon as they enter the room, being rougher with him than he has ever been before. He throws him to the floor and pounces, shifting as he falls onto him. He growls into his ear, “Don't shift" and Denton whimpers. Eric bites down on his shoulder, sinking his teeth in and then thrusts into him. Eric whines and pants as he feels Eric swell within him but he does not try and make him stop. Eric can only thrust in short bursts as his knot has grown so large he cannot pull out anymore. He thrusts one last time, his seed shooting out of him and he howls. Denton lies still as he squeezes himself until he is shooting all over the floor beneath him. Eric shifts and lies on top of Denton, snuggling him.

"God I miss this..." Denton sighs.

"I wish I could stay longer, Denton, but I have to get back to work."

"Does it bother your dragon, that you and I do this?"

"He knows that I have responsibilities that I have to ease the packs tensions, however I'm able."

"Is that all I am, a pack member you have to ease?"

"Denton..." Eric shakes his head. Before the dragon claimed him he had thought about the two of them, of them possibly being mates but now?

"What if I meet your dragon? Do you think he'd like to have more than one mate?"

Eric's forehead wrinkles as his lips press together. He gets up and moves toward the door. "The Alpha would be very upset if I took you to see the dragon. He has forbidden it."

"You could ask him, the Alpha, maybe he would give me permission to go with you."

"I'll think about it, I have to go." Eric leans down and takes Denton's mouth, at first just to place a small kiss but then Denton opens to him, moaning and Eric pulls him to him, thrusting his tongue in kissing him as he has never kissed him before. When he finally pulls away, he whispers, "I'll ask him." and walks out of the room. Eric feels a shift towards Denton, in the past he's been aggressive with him because he wanted it but today, it was like Eric was taking out his frustration and inability to help the pack move past his betrayal. He shook his head.

: Dragon... did you see all of that? :

Eric did not get a response right away.

: Yes. :

: How do you feel about me asking the Alpha permission to bring Denton to meet you? :

: I do like how submissive he is and how you dominate him. :

Eric hears him chuckle in his head. : Frankly, I didn't know you had it in you. Here I am all by myself with a hard on the size of the mountain our cave is in and you are no where around to take care of it for me. :

Eric laughs and then says seriously, : Only with him. I mean there is an occasion when someone within the pack comes to me and wants me to dominate them, but it is not the same. :

: You love him. :

Eric hesitates. : Yes, but that doesn't mean I care for you any less, it's just... :

: Different... :

: Yes, do you understand? Is it possible that we can find away to... :

: Ask your Alpha, I will be open to the possibility. :

: Thank you, Kell, I'll let you know how it goes. :

: Oh I'll be watching. I'm always watching. : He hears Kell sigh.

: Sometimes I wish you wouldn't. I know how much it hurts you, when things are hard for me. :

: What kind of mate would I be if I let you suffer alone for something I should be punished for? The least I can do is watch, knowing it's my fault they are treating you this way. :

Eric has no words to respond with. He continues on his way to see Arelia before someone else needs something from him.

He knocks on her door.

"Come in, Eric."

She always knows. "Hi Arelia, do you have some time for me?" He kneels before her and puts his head to her knee. Her hand reaches out and gently soothes him as she runs her old fingers through his hair.

"Of course. I hear you've gotten yourself into trouble again."

He lets out a long breath and looks up into her grey eyes and wrinkled face that he adores. "Yeah, I don't mean to. I think I'm doing alright and then wham, I stumble and find myself in these predicaments."

She chuckles. "You find yourself in these predicaments or you seek them out?"

He looks up into her wise eyes. "Either way, I'm in trouble again. I need to figure out how to fix it with the Alpha. As long as he is upset with me, it is affecting the pack. We all know, an unhappy Alpha makes for an unhappy pack."

"Yes," She sighs. "That is true. Have you offered up your hide to him?"

Eric squirms. He had only offered up his hide to the Alpha one time, when he had just become the Omega and his mishandled actions had caused a huge fight, many were hurt. He had gone to the Alpha and offered his hide for him to use the leather strap. He will never forget that day. The Alpha had taken all of his pent up anger and aggression out on him. That is one thing about this Alpha that is different than the rest. He never beats you unless you ask for it. Now most would think that you would never ask for such a thing, but when this Alpha is upset, most will do anything to have him smile again. Eric swallows hard. Deep inside he knew she was going to give him this answer but he was not ready to hear it before now.

Arelia continues petting his head, running her fingers through his hair. "You already knew what you needed to do, Eric, but I understand that sometimes, the difficult choices need to be laid in our laps for us to be able to choose them. You know what you need to do to get the Alpha to forgive you and you know you are the only one that can do it. It isn't going to be easy but when he is done, he will forgive you and be able to let it go."

Eric trembles at her feet. "Can you tell me how I can block my mate from my mind so that he doesn't witness it? He sees everything and it is hurting him. I'm worried what he will do if he can see it. I'm worried he'll break his promise." Eric's eyes fill but do not overflow.

"You can try... some have been able to do it by visualizing a wall around them and blocking everything out. It might work. Unfortunately it is more difficult when one is in pain."

Eric winces. He was afraid that would be the case but he had to try. "Thank you, Arelia, as always you knew exactly what I needed to hear."

"Don't wait so long to see me, Eric, I miss having you around. You don't have to need my advice to gift this old woman with your presence."

"Yes, ma'am. I'm sorry it's been so long. Is there anything I can do for you, anything you need?"

"Just for you to do what needs to be done so that this pack can breathe again."

"Yes, ma'am. I'll take care of it before the day is out."

"Good boy, I knew you would."

Eric's belly is roiling and his skin feels like it is on fire. It does not matter how nervous or scared he is though, once he makes up his mind he always takes care of what needs to be taken care of. He goes straight to the pack house and knocks on the Alpha's office door. He can hear him moving papers and his chair scraping against the floor.

"Come in." He growls.

Eric realizes that the Alpha has not said anything lately without growling it out. He opens the door and steps in front of the Alpha's desk. The Alpha does not look up. "Yeah, what do you want, Omega." He says Omega with contempt in his voice.

"I'm here to give you my hide." The Alpha stills and then looks up.

"I wondered how long it would take you." The Alpha catches his eyes not letting him look away. "Took you long enough." Anger laces his Alpha's voice.

"I-I'm sorry Alpha." Eric whimpers and falls to his knees. The Alpha gets up from behind his desk and walks around to stand in front of him.

"Yes, you will be very sorry by the time I am done with you. And if your dragon dares to come here while I am giving you what you deserve, he will die."

Eric swallows bile as it rises from his belly refusing to let it out of him. He has to block out the dragon. He sees a giant wall coming up around him, completely surrounding, and blacking out everything.

"Go downstairs, get in position, and wait for me. I'll be there when I'm ready."

"Yes sir." Eric quickly gets up and leaves the room. He looks up the hall hoping no one will see him going downstairs. Everyone knows there is only one reason to go to the basement. Thankfully he does not see anyone and he hurries down the stairs. He can hardly breathe as he walks to the two posts in the middle of the room that run from the floor to the ceiling. There are shackles attached to each one, at the bottom and at the top. Eric swallows hard as he squats down and attaches one to each of his ankles, stands up and slips his hands into the shackles hanging down the posts, he lightly tugs forcing them to tighten just enough that he can't get out of them. The Alpha has created this system so the person asking for punishment would have to chain themselves up. And then wait for however long he makes you wait. It is all part of it, being in this dark basement, away from everything green or the open sky, and being chained up and unable to move but the barest amount. Eric swallows down more bile as sweat runs down his back. This alone is torture but nothing compares to the leather strap his Alpha made himself. The Alpha knows, as everyone else knows as well, that it does not matter how much he hits you, when you shift the wounds will be gone. But you can't shift until he is done, until he chooses to unlock the shackles. Eric has a thought that sets him to trembling. What if he keeps him down here for days?

: Kell... I need you to listen to me. :

: Where are you, Eric? I couldn't sense you for a while and I was worried. :

: I have to take care of something and I need you to not be in my head. Don't worry, everything will be alright. The thing is, I'm not sure if what I have to do will be done by tonight. I might not see you for a couple of days. :

: What? Why? :

Eric can feel his dragon's agitation. : Dragon, will you trust me please? I need you to do this for me. Stay out of my head and trust that when I'm able, I will come home. Maybe I'll even have Denton with me and I'll make him do whatever you want. He will too, I can make him do all kinds of things. I haven't in a while, but in the past I've made him do some pretty kinky stuff. :

Eric could almost hear the dragon purring. He knew he was fantasizing about what he could do with him.

: In human form? You'll make him stay in human form while he is here? :

: Yes, I'll forbid him to shift while he is in our cave. Think about it Dragon, whatever you want. You've seen him through me, he is quite handsome and even larger than I am. :

: Mmmmm, he does sound appetizing. You promise you are going to be okay? :

: Yes, let me do this, on my own, and everything will be okay. :

: Alright, I won't look again until you call to me. I promise. :

Eric let out a huge sigh of relief. He knew if the dragon promised he would keep it. : Thank you, dragon, you don't know how much that means to me. I-I love you, I really do. :

: Eric... that's not fair, saying that when you aren't here, when you've never said that before. :

: I'm sorry... you're right, that wasn't fair of me but I was feeling it and wanted you to know. :

The dragon let out a long sigh. : I love you too, Eric. Please come home to me soon. :

: I'll do my best. :

Eric pulls up the walls and surrounds himself with them. Even with the Dragon's promise, he is afraid that something might leak through.

*****

Eric lost track of time. There were no windows for him to see the sun and there was only recessed lighting to see where you walk but not much else. Eric keeps fading in and out, jerking awake when his body starts to go slack. His mouth feels like a desert and his stomach feels like it is eating itself as it gurgles. He hears someone coming down the stairs and Eric loses his breath. The door opens and someone walks up to him but the footfalls sound softer, not like the Alpha.

"I'm sorry, Eric. I'm only here to give you water."

It is his Luna, the Alpha's mate.

"He's so angry he's afraid to come down here until he can calm himself. He's afraid of what he will do to you." She holds a glass of cool water to his lips, letting him drink.

"How long have I been down here?" His voice is so hoarse it even surprises him.

"Two days."

Eric's knees almost buckle but he forces himself to stay standing up. The Luna holds the glass to his lips again and he drinks a good bit down. "The problem is you are the one that normally calms him down. He is lost without you, Omega."

"Tell him... tell him it's okay. I can take it, tell him it's okay that he lets out his anger down here, on me. Please Luna, don't let him leave me down here another day. I'm worried what my dragon will do if I don't show up soon."

"Alright, I'll tell him." She stands on the tips of her toes and kisses his forehead. "Bless you, Eric, for having the courage to take everything you are given." She holds the glass for him to drink the last of it and then she leaves him.

Two days, he knew it had been awhile but two days? It wasn't long before he hears another coming down the stairs. The footfalls are much heavier this time.

The Alpha walks into the room and strides quickly to him, standing so close he can feel the Alpha's breath on his cheek. Whatever she told him must have concerned him because he looks worried. His hand reaches up and caresses Eric's face. "You broke my heart, Eric; you were the one thing I could count on. The one person, the one wolf that I knew would always be here for me when I needed you."

Eric is quiet, knowing the Alpha needs to speak. He looks like someone has sucked the life out of him; like he has been the one down here the whole time instead of him. "At first when you came to me and offered your hide, I wanted to take it." Some of the anger was in his voice. But then when you left, my anger was so strong, I was afraid of what I would do to you. I was afraid of what I would become if I let that much anger out." He moves around behind him, running his fingers over his back and down, caressing his bottom.

"Do you remember, before I found my mate, how I used you? Of course you remember. I told myself that if I wasn't with a female, I was saving myself for my mate, for when I found her. And there you were, offering yourself up, taking care of me as you took care of everyone. What you don't know, what you couldn't know... is I thought of you as mine. More than any other member of the pack, you were mine." The Alpha's hand was caressing down between his crack. "But then I found my mate, everything changed. I didn't need you anymore, or so I thought. But I did need you, you kept me calm, you kept my anger from flaring up. You, not the Luna, not anyone else only you." The Alpha came and stood in front of him again. He leaned in and kissed him. Eric opened his mouth, letting him in. The Alpha explores his mouth slowly, running his tongue over Eric's teeth and tongue until they are both out of breath. The Alpha steps back and takes the chains off of Eric. Eric stumbles and the Alpha holds him up. "Shift."

Eric almost sobs as he shifts into his wolf. The Alpha shifts and gently pushes Eric with his nose. Eric rolls over and the Alpha is on him, rolling with him, nipping at his ears, his muzzle. He pinns him down, chest to chest rubbing against him, nuzzling his neck as Eric leans his head back as far as he can. The Alpha growls as he nips at his throat as Eric whimpers. He puts his whole mouth over Eric's throat, holding him there. Eric's tail pulls to the side for his Alpha and he thrusts into him, tightening his mouth on his throat. The Alpha thrusts hard and fast until his knot swells and Eric whimpers. The Alpha bounces within him, tugging and pulling, causing pain to lance through Eric.

The Alpha suddenly thrusts deep, holding himself there as he begins to pump his seed into him. The Alpha growls as his teeth bite harder but not quite piercing the skin. The Alpha stays there, on top of him, filling him, knotted to him for quite some time. The swelling reduces enough that he can pull out and he releases Eric's neck and licks all over his muzzle until Eric opens to him. The Alpha flicks his tongue into his mouth again and again. Eric moans and whimpers. The Alpha finally stops, shifts, and stands up.

"Shift." His Alpha commands.

Eric shifts back into his human form but stays on the floor as his Alpha stands over him. "If anyone asks, you got what you deserved down here. As far as I'm concerned it's over. I forgive you."

A sob tears through Eric. The Alpha turns to leave. "Take a few days off, spend it with your dragon and regain your strength."

"Alpha..."

"Yes?"

"Can I have permission to take Denton with me? I-I think he and I, I think he and I were suppose to be mates. But then the dragon..."

The Alpha stops with his hand on the door handle. He takes a deep breath. "He wants to go with you? And your dragon wants him too?"

"Only if it is okay with you." Eric rushes to soothe him. "Denton isn't leaving the pack, just as I'm not leaving the pack. But if he can join me and the Dragon, it would make me happy."

The Alpha turns back to him. "I want you to be happy, Eric... I just wish I had claimed you first, Luna would have accepted it, we could have been a triad." Eric's mouth drops open. The Alpha turns back toward the door. "Yes, you can take him with you. You even have my blessing if the dragon decides to claim him as well, for you, or you claim him. However it works out, you have my blessing." And he walks away.

Eric slowly makes his way up the stairs, almost too weak but he keeps moving until he finds Denton waiting for him in the kitchen. “The Alpha…" Denton's eyes are wide with shock. “He said I could go with you. Are you okay, you look like shit."

Eric leans against Denton. “Yes, I'll be fine." He knows he needs some protein. He opens the fridge and pulls out some leftover pot roast and eats it cold. “Come on, I'm well enough. We need to get to Kell. And Denton, you can go with me on one condition…"

“Anything."

“You must do everything I tell you to do, and I do mean everything, while you are with me and the dragon."

“Of course…" He chuckles under his breath, “don't I usually?"

Eric gives him a half grin that does not reach his eyes. “Yeah, lately you have. Sometime we need to talk about that but not now." As soon as they get outside they both shift.

: Kell, we're coming. :
