_ _ Making Friends Part 2 _ _

This is the second part to the series. Myron belongs to Myrontheotter while Ace and Devin belong to me. This piece is for Myron, who I love with all my heart. <3!

Devin had Ace in his room lying naked on his bed. They had been dating for six years and no one but their closest friends knew about them. Their parents thought being anything but straight was a sin, so they naturally didn't tell them. They had just graduated from high school that day and were about to fully commit to one another. Ace had assumed the submissive position, which pleased Devin because he wasn't sure he was ready to be mounted yet. Taking the position behind Ace, Devin was about to push in when his door flew open. "So for your graduation party, I was thinking that we would... OH MY GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!?!" screamed Devin's mother. Devin jumped off the bed and grabbed his underpants. Ace scurried under the covers and whimpered. "You little homos! I knew you were no good you little faggot" she said and pointed at Ace. "You poisoned my child! You are disgusting! Leave at ONCE!"

"Who the hell do you think you are, woman? Maybe I 'poisoned' Ace. What gives you the right to judge what everyone says and does? You're just a bitch. A no good, close-minded, sadistic bitch" Devin yelled right back.

He had had enough of his mother and how she constantly went on about how being gay was a crime. Ignoring his mothers ranting and raving, he put on his clothes. He motioned for Ace to do the same and reached into his closet and pulled out a suitcase. Opening it, he quickly threw in his I Pod, money and any clothes he could find. He grabbed Ace's hand and led him out the door of his room. He walked past his brother's room and took a quick look inside. He was playing Call of Doodie, like always. The little brat won't even miss me thought Devin. The wolf threw open the front door of his house and turned his back on the home he was raised in.

"Are we okay to go to your house?" Devin asked Ace after he had cooled down enough to talk. They had been walking for what seemed like hours around the block where Ace lived. He wasn't sure of what to expect.

"You remember how your mom reacted to us?" Ace said.

"How could I not?" said Devin with a shudder.

"Well my parents are super religious. There hasn't been a gay person they haven't bashed. I think the best thing to do is to sneak into my room and take what we need, leaving a note or something"

"Alright. Do you need help?" asked Devin. Ace nodded and together they climbed up onto the roof of Ace's house to where the window to his room was. The window was use many times, mostly when Devin came and kept Ace company at night. They slid through the gap in the window one at a time, Ace going first. When Devin squeezed through, he saw that Ace had already started on packing. They moved quickly but silently. The huge suitcase Ace had was almost ready to go when they heard shouting downstairs that sounded like "He did WHAT?!?!" and paws stomping up the stairs.

"Oh my god we have to hurry! That must have been your mom! She must have told my parents and now my dad is coming up here!" whispered a frantic Ace. Devin grabbed Ace's computer chair and tucked it under the door handle to prevent the angry wolf from coming inside the room. "Okay I have everything I need. Let's get the fuck out of here!" The boys scrambled to get out of the window as they heard banging on the door and the doorknob twisting over and over again. They dropped the suitcase into prized rosebushes and jumped off the roof. Gathering up their bags, the boys began to run as fast as they could away from the house with the bellowing wolf inside.

"Where are we going to go now?" asked Ace. "All of my family shares the same stupid religious views as my parents and I know for a fact that yours are the same. Do you have a plan?" Ace seemed a little uneasy, but then again, who wouldn't after they had to run away from home.

"Are you up for a trip?" Devin asked Ace. He received a nod, so he carried on. "Well there is this otter I met on a site. He is really nice and the same age as us. He lives in San Diego, so it's quite far away, but he said we could go live with him if needed."

"So... What? We have a place to go?" asked Ace. Devin nodded and then Ace said "All the way to San Diego then, eh?"

"Yeah I guess so... I have a ton of money from that job I had last summer. It's enough to keep us going until we get there." stated Devin. "We are going to take Greyhounds and stuff so it wont cost all that much."

"Well okay... Just as long as we are together. That's all that matters." The boys looked at each other and laughed. "Corny!" they said at the same time. They then walked off towards the bus stop.

Devin and Ace had been travelling for three days when they arrived in California. Being Canadians, they hadn't been so warm in a long time. The clothes they were wearing and had packed were too heavy for this climate and they could feel it. Sitting together on the bus, they were panting and taking off their thicker clothes. When their bus stopped, they jumped off and looked around them for shade. They found refuge under a large sign. "God it's so frigging hot down here! How can anyone stand it!" complained Ace.

"Ugh! Well, it doesn't help that we have such thick fur, either. We need to find somewhere to stay for the night if we want to not die from the heat. Do you see any hotels?" said Devin. He had not anticipated it to be this hot. They were making good progress though. The fact that they were already in California surprised him. At the pace they were going, it would just be one more day until they were in San Diego. The otter he had told Ace about was very sweet. He was also gay, which would mean that there wouldn't be a whole lot of awkwardness being around each other.

"Hey look! There's a motel over there! It says they have vacancy. We should check it out." exclaimed Ace as he saw the old motel across the street. It didn't appear to be in great shape. The motels name had a few lights flickering while others were just burnt out. The bushes and trees that surrounded the lodge were either dead or withering. While it didn't look like a great place, there didn't seem to be any other places nearby. With a slight sigh, Devin grabbed Ace's hand and led him towards the rundown motel.

The room that they got wasn't so bad. Even though the lime green paint was peeling off the walls, Devin didn't mind. They had stayed in a really bad motel with roaches skittering across the floor and scratching inside the walls. That had been terrifying since neither of the boys had ever seen a real cockroach before. Their room at least had running water and a small TV. They were a little afraid to lie on the bed because of their disgusting surroundings, but since they were very tired they threw caution into the wind and decided to lay on the bed. It wasn't as bad as they thought it would be. The sheets were cool and felt good against their hot bodies.

"This isn't so bad, is it? It's certainly a lot better than that crappy place we stayed in the other day." Devin said to try and brighten the mood.

"Ugh whatever. Why do we have to always stay in such disgusting places? Cant we sleep somewhere that doesn't smell like a dead cat?" complained Ace.

"You know we need to use our money sparingly" said Devin. "We don't know when we will get to San Diego or what will be waiting for us. Stop being so whiney!"

"Whatever. I'm going to sleep. Goodnight Devin." said an angry Ace.

Devin awoke the next day feeling terrible about what he had said to Ace. He was just hot and tired. "Baby?" said Devin as he turned to Ace in the bed. Ace didn't move. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean what I said. I was just hot and tired. Will you forgive me?"

Ace rolled over and kissed Devin. "I'm sorry too. I know money is going to be hard to come by, I'm just tired of these places." A loud noise, like a gunshot, made the boys freeze. "I think we should leave, right now"

"Agreed. Let's pack up and get the fuck out of here." Throwing luggage into suitcases, they hurried out the door. They ran to the bus stop and waited for their bus, looking around every few seconds for any suspicious looking furs. When the bus arrived, they hopped on and didn't look back on the creepy motel.

"Devin! Wake up! We are in San Diego right... now!" exclaimed Ace excitedly. Devin woke up just in time to see the sign welcoming them to the city. He sat up and stretched. Letting out a yawn, he looked out the window. The view was breathtaking. He had never seen a river in the middle of a city before and it stunned him. The two boys spent the next twenty minutes pointing at objects in the distance or just giggling with excitement. When the bus stopped, they jumped off and took a few deep breaths. The air was humid and a little salty. Devin pulled out his I Pod and searched for a wifi connection. When he found an access point, he logged onto his AIM account and found his otter friend online.

Myron: Hey buddy! What's up?

Devin: Well you know how you said if I ever needed to that I could come live with you?

Myron: Yeah... Why?

Devin: I got thrown out and so did my friend. Right now we are standing at a bus stop in San Diego

Myron: My god! Well tell me where you are and I'll come get you.

The ride to Myron's house was a quite one. Myron had picked them up thirty minutes after Devin gave him the information of his whereabouts. There was a quick "Hi" and "Thank you", but that was all. When they arrived at Myron's house, Devin gasped. It was two stories and was the biggest house he had ever seen before. There were big trees with beautiful green leaves lining the house and rose bushes that surrounded the property. It looked very well maintained and Devin thought it was just gorgeous.

"This is my humble home" Myron said with a grin. "I hope you like it"

"Are you kidding?" exclaimed Ace. "This is the biggest fucking house I have ever seen! Does anyone else live here?"

The otter got a faraway look in his eyes and replied "No. My parents and little brother died in a car crash last year. I've had the house all to myself since then"

"Oh... well it is a beautiful house" said Ace, quickly changing the subject.

"It is isn't it... Well you guys might as well come inside." Myron led them inside of the house and again they were amazed. There was a huge living room to their left filled with games and a giant TV. Straight down the hallway was the kitchen. It had what appeared to be brand new appliances which shone brightly when the sun hit them. Wolf heads swivelled, looking at all the objects and paintings. "I can see you like the house. Let's go upstairs so I can show you to your rooms."

The guys followed Myron up the stairs and into a hallway with five doors. "This one is yours, Devin" he said, pointing to the one down the hall. "This one is yours... I'm sorry, but I don't think we have been introduced. I am Myron."

"I'm Ace. It's nice to meet you. Thank you for being so kind to us" said Ace.

"Anything for a friend. If either of you need to use the bathroom, its right through there. I'm sure your tired so Ill leave you two to get some shut eye. See you in the morning!"

Hehe sorry it is a bit long. I hope you enjoyed it. Comments/suggestions, as always, are welcome. Thanks for taking the time to read this!
