#1 of Sincere Tears

I leaned over, panting hard against the dance studio's front window as the summer heat radiated waves off the street pavement. But that's what you get for living in the desert state of Calora. Where you can easily cook eggs on rocks or fry ants with a magnifying glass. Thankfully, the glossy wood boarded studio had air-conditioning. This was one of the reasons I love Mrs. Winter our high school dance teacher. She also held classes for the community if they choose to learn. As I continued to gasp for air my two best girlfriends panted next to me after our final performance for today. They were lesbo for each other, which was a little irritating to watch because I was single and very...alone.

But what can a little typical Shiba like me suppose to do. Sure I'm in decent shape and have an embarrassing round butt that neither of the girls are afraid to slap. Sadly, men around these parts don't bat an eyelash in my direction unless it's to push or insult me... I took one last inhale and let it out, putting my back straight to help breath better. I turned to face my two friends, Clover who was a white colored bunny with hazel spots on her ear and paws. Next to her was Alexis that was a classical orange tiger with two piercing golden eyes and pierced ears.

"Damn...Sora... Don't you think this song might be a little too much for us?" Alexis rasped leaning a bit on Clover.

"I will admit it's...challenging. But that just makes it more fun, right." I said cheerfully while my energy slowly came back.

"Ha, challenging my cottontail. I love 'Get Stupid,' it's a real rump shaker." Clover giggled, brimming with energy to burn.

"Honey Bunny! Are you trying to kill me? Because this song is giving me a heart attack." The tiger huffed with both paws placed on her heart, pretending to have a heart attack.

I rolled my eyes and decided to add my two cents into the mix.

"Oh dear. Are you sure you're dying from a heart attack? Or the fact I caught you eyeing a certain moving cottontail." I couldn't hold back the laugh when I saw how bright red Alexis's face beamed being caught in the act. I noticed Clover, placed a paw over her muzzle to stifle her giggles, but her face was also a little pink. I sighed a little annoyed without them noticing.

'I wonder if I would ever act the same way?' I thought before suppressing the idea to the pointless file in the back of my mind. Yeah right, who would willingly want to be with me anyway?

Both of the girls noticed my silence and looked at me concerned. I waved them off that it was nothing, but they knew better.

"Sora, don't wave at us like nothings wrong." Alexis criticized placing one of her paws on my shoulder for support. Clover did the same for my other shoulder and gave me a kind understanding smile.

"Puppy, don't be so down. I know you'll find someone. Besides, by the end of summer vacation we'll be starting our sophomore year." The bunny cooed next to my ear, causing it to flick.

"That's right! We're still in the prime of our lives!" Alexis roared with a huge grin plastered on her muzzle. I felt Clover jump a bit and tilted my head a little to see Alexis's tail coiled around the bunny's leg.

"Thanks for the comfort ladies, but...if you're going to 'kiss the girl' Alexis. I should move out of the way." I playfully teased. Both of the girls blushed again and flicked both of my ears by blowing into them. My ears pinned to my head while the blush on my face rivaled the girls in comparison.

'Ah! My weakness! I should have never told them my ears were sensitive!' I mentally kicked myself.

Suddenly, Clover gasped and jumped back from torturing me.

"Oh my goodness! I can't believe I almost forgot." The bunny squeaked gaining Alexis and my attention. Our faces slowly returned to their original fur color as I asked. "What did...you forget?" I huffed, trying to regain my composure from the agonizing ear blowing. Clover hopped a little while her nose twitched meaning one thing, gossip.

"Have you heard the rumor?" The bunny questioned with a hint of eagerness in her voice. Alexis shook her head, but I felt a tad mischievous and gave my best biggest smile.

"Oh Clover my poor dear bunny. Can you please explain to us how we're supposed to know what rumor you're talking about without more details to your question? For example the name or names of the presumed suspects might help ring a bell."

Clover flicked one of her tall ears and glared at me, but it was in good humor. The overly sweet smile, however indicated there would be hell to pay later on. The tiger sighed and looked into my violet eyes asking why, but I just shrugged.

"Well Honey Bunny?" Alexis asked.

"Hmm, oh right! Get this. You both know Tray Gale?" Clover questioned. Earning a nod from both of us. Tray Gale is a huge hunk of Rottweiler sexiness whose starting sophomore year with us. He's positioned as the weak side linebacker for the football team and won the school many trophies. I'll admit I have a major crush for him, but I know better than to fuel those embers.

"You see, he caught his Spaniel girlfriend with another guy in her bed. I think it was a lion named Jonny from the volleyball team. I heard he broke up with her so he's free on the market." Clover said nudging my arm with an elbow. I got her message crystal clear and snapped.

"Are you joking?! Do you have any idea what a guy like Tray Gale or his whole team will do to me for even thinking about that." I screamed earning the eyes of the other dancers in the room. But I didn't care at that point because I was hyperventilating and shaking crazy with fear.

Both of the girls pet my head gently, trying to help calm the pounding in my chest. Our dance teacher Mrs. Winter walked by a little worried for her star dancer who was currently having a breakdown. She was an elegant red fox that started teaching at the school during our freshman year and proven her mastery as a professional dancer to all of us.

"Are you okay Sora?" The fox asked. I nodded to her while finally calming down thanks to Clover and Alexis's help. Mrs. Winter smiled and turned back to the rest of her class.

"All right ladies...and gentleman." The fox added earning a few giggles from all the girls since I was the only male there.

"Let's call it a day and enjoy the rest of your summer vacation. You only have...two more weeks before school starts up again. So go have fun...but not too much fun, okay." Everyone thanked Mrs. Winter for the summer lessons and slowly made their way to the exit in little groups. When the three of us made it outside. We said 'See you later' rather than goodbye. Since we planned to enjoy the last days of summer with movies, games, and all the other things kids like us enjoy doing together. Summer was coming to an end and the start of a new school year seemed ever closer.

Sora's POV

Summer finally ended as I got out of bed with a small squeak of a yawn. Stretching my arms and back to loosen sleep's hold on me. I looked around my wooden floor and white-pasted room that was clean and well organized. My room has been kind of bare since my dresser and TV fit in my closet, which had sliding doors. Making it easy to play games, watch TV, or watch a movie. Besides my bed there was also my computer desk that held my laptop on top. Plus my clock that read...7:30!!!

"Holy fudge cake I'm going to be late!" I screamed. Flustered as to why my alarm didn't go off. I heard a thud next to my room wall, which means I woke up my dad who slept in too. Quickly, I washed, dried, and brushed my fur to give it that soft flowing glow. If mom taught me one thing about life, it's to look your best. Although, it's not like there's anyone to impress really...

I shook off that pointless thought and looked at myself in the body mirror hanging on my closet door. I turned three-quarters to see that I was a pretty fit Shiba. The usual marking for my breed hugged my body's curves of muscle. I sighed, looking at my butt that seemed a little bigger than before, but I just marked it off. I grabbed a black thin shirt with the Helix brand and a pair of their blue jeans that hugged my legs and ass perfectly. While the shirt stretched to fit my torso definition. I was able to see the orange and white fur under the shirt's fabric.

Blushing a bit that it might be a little too much, but had to hurry before I was late for my first class. Dance class won't be until tomorrow, so I didn't have to get my gym bag yet. After closing my door with my backpack in paw. I rushed down stairs spotting my papa in his work suit nursing a coffee in his paws on the tan couch chair. His fur was sticking up in all directions and had that sluggish look going on. Seemed like he was having a hard time waking up, but he noticed me and put down his mug. Carrying over a brown paper bag in paw and handed it over.

"Thanks for the wake up call sport. It's a little rushed, but it's a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich with a bag of Doritos inside." My papa said yawning afterwards.

Unlike me, papa was a tall black Shiba that had more bulk on his muscles, but I got his violet eyes and personality. I thanked him with a loving hug and earned a pat on the head and a few licks on my ear. He guided me to the door, wishing me a safe trip to school and closed the door after I waved bye. School wasn't too far for a walk, but I ran like my life depended on it. Luckily, I made it two minutes before the bell rang and pulled out my schedule from my backpack. This was a new start for Viper Ranger High as I start my sophomore year.

My first class of the day was Forensic science which was on the second floor of the school building, 211. Without a second to spare I ran up the stairs to the second floor and made it to class before the bell rang. But the teacher wasn't in the classroom. Scanning the room, I noticed all the chairs were filled except for one and Alexis was saving it for me near the center end. I walked up to the chair, but froze when I realized the fur sitting on the other side with his head down was 'yep you guessed it' Tray Gale. I looked back at Alexis, who shrugged and used her pointer finger to tell me to sit.

I walked over stiffly to the chair and had to slide behind past the Rottweiler to sit. Before I could make it through, the massive dog jolted and arched his back so fast that his head collided with my stomach. It really hurt and I leaned forward whimpering a bit, when Tray noticed me behind him. He tilted his head up to meet my watery violet eyes with his beautiful baby blue eyes. We just stood there looking into each other until the Rottweiler broke the staring contest. Quickly moving his chair forward to allow me to pass through.

As I sat Alexis gave me a sly grin and I turned back to Tray who looked really worried.

"I'm so sorry. I didn't know you were behind me. Are you okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?" Tray panicked with a rapid fire of sentences.

"Whoa there big boy." I smiled gently and tried to calm him down.

"I'm okay. It didn't hurt that bad." I lied, but he seemed unconvinced and poked my stomach. I blushed badly when he touched me, but winced too.

Before anything could be said an orange and white Shiba walked into the classroom and he spotted me immediately.

"Hello class and hello nephew, long time no see." The older Shiba greeted. I jumped out of my chair still feeling the pain in my stomach, but ignored it as my curled fluffy tail wagged a mile a minute.

"Uncle Ray?!" I yipped in excitement that my favorite uncle on my father's side of the family was in my classroom. All of the students looked back and forth from the teacher to me wondering what was going on.

The older Shiba chuckled and signaled for me to sit as he addressed the rest of the class. I quickly sat down, glowing red under my face fur as I turned to Alexis that was stifling a laugh. I noticed Tray smiling strangely at the corner of my eye.

"Oh righty then class. If some of you couldn't tell Sora and I are related. Don't fret because he won't be getting any special treatment, but I know he doesn't need it." Uncle explained, increasing the blush on my face. He chuckled again at my suspense.

"Welcome to Forensic Science class where you'll be learning about the crime world and how to get away with murder. I will be your host Mr. Ray Clawson. You can call me Mr. Clawson or RC for short." Uncle introduced himself and gave a bow, which earned a few giggles from the girls in the class. The older Shiba noticed and mock pouted.

"Sorry ladies but I'm a married man to a loving husband." Uncle explained lifting his left paw to show off a wedding ring. The room went silent but I could see, that Alexis was very interested in our new teacher, since this was the first gay teacher we know of. She raised her paw so fast that it was an orange blur. RC caught the raised hand and pointed to the tiger.

"Yes, you with the eager question." My uncle playfully pointed out.

"How did you meet your husband? How long have you been together? Will you adopt me?" Alexis bombarded the older Shiba with questions until he had to raise both of his paws for a ceasefire.

"Whoa! That's a lot to take in. You must be Alexis right?" RC asked and received a nod. Alexis looked at me and mouthed out 'You told him about me' with a huge smile. I smiled back and waited for my uncle to answer her questions.

"Well to answer your question firstly. Before I met my husband, I was a cop once. Before I took an arrow to the knee." Some of the boys in class laughed at the Game reference.

"Oh, I'm not kidding. It's how I met my husband actually. I got a call to an archery class and being a clumsy sweetheart he is. Shot an arrow in my direction and into my knee. I was in so much shock that I didn't even realize he carried me to the nearest hospital. He stayed by my side the whole time and you could say it was love at first sight or cupid's arrow, but we never left each others side after."

I looked around to gauge everyone's reaction to the story. Alexis was eating it up with a goofy grin at how romantic it sounds. Some of the other students were listening carefully or on their phones. Some of the girls that giggled before were obviously staring at uncle's body. He wasn't as buff as papa, but had more muscle than me to stretch the fabric of his gray long sleeve shirt and tan pants. I think it was Shiba genes, but it seemed like our species are born with big round butts because uncle's was showing under his tight pants.

I turned to the Rottweiler next to me, but his eyes were on me. Even though his ears faced my uncle, his beautiful blue orbs were on me instead. He jumped when our eyes met and quickly faced the older Shiba. I could see a faint tint of red under his fur. I was really confused by Tray's actions, but I didn't have time to ponder a reason as I listened to my uncle finish answering Alexis's questions.

Sora's POV

By the end of class we had a decent understanding of what we would be learning for the rest of the year. While Alexis and I packed our binders and pencils, her tail kept flicking at me.

"Your uncle is so cool Sora! Why have you been hogging him all for yourself? Greedy much." Alexis mocked glared. I sighed, but Uncle Ray came in for the rescue.

"Alexis, Sora doesn't hog me. That's my husband's job." Uncle chuckled and turned to me with the same violet eyes.

"As for you. I made your dad swear to secrecy I was moving here from Crystal Coast. It was going to be a surprise." He explained. I nodded and a thought came to me.

"What about uncle Tim? Is he here too." I asked curiously, while the smile on the older Shiba's muzzle grew even bigger.

"Yes he's here and until we find a suitable place to live, we'll be staying with you and John in the guest room."

My jaw dropped and I hugged my uncle tightly and he yelped from the constricting pressure.

"That's awesome! There is so much I want to show you guys!" My curly tail began to wag for take-off again, but I didn't realize my ass was moving with it too.

"I love it when you're happy Sora, but if you and Alexis don't hurry you'll be late to class. Now move little soldier boy." Uncle instructed and I pouted having to let go since he was right. The tiger giggled and padded my back a little harder. When I turned around with Alexis to the door. Tray was there paying witness to my lack of self-control. I blushed something fierce and it seemed uncle Ray caught my line of sight to Tray.

He gave me a playful wink and went back to his stack of classwork assignments that need grading. Alexis noticed my slow pace and grinned slyly and decided to speed up saying 'see me later'.

'Traitors!' I screamed in my head when I was left alone to face the jock. Slowly I approached the door where Tray was standing. When he saw me coming, his expression was mixed with emotions I couldn't place.

"Hey Tray. What's up?" I asked the Rottweiler, who to my amusement looked ready to make a mad dash when I addressed him.

"Oh! Um...nothing...just wanted to apologize again for accidently head-butting your stomach. Are you sure your okay?" Tray asked with worry in those breathtaking blue eyes.

I nodded my head and he let out a sigh of relief. He was so tense worrying about me that I couldn't help let out a heartfelt laugh. I had to cover my muzzle with my paws to contain it. Afterwards I gave him a genuine loving smile.

"Thank you for caring enough about me. It's pretty rare to have anyone, especially the school's star football player worry for my well being." I said with a half bittersweet smile. Alexis and Clover have been my only childhood friends since forever.

We protect one another when the other kids pick on us. When we first started school, I was bullied because I liked hanging out with the girls rather than the boys in elementary. Then in middle school some of those bullies followed us and picked on all three of us when Alexis and Clover broke a few of my tormentors' noses. Now were in high school and last year wasn't my most happiest when those bullies found other ways to hurt me. That's just how it is for me. I'm small, weak, but not a coward. When some of the bullies tried to hit on Clover, I stood up for her. Sadly, I was beaten down, while Alexis rescued us by beating the sprinkles out of their heads. She learned self-defense, but because I'm the weaker of the two and male. I'm an easy target for the physical and verbal abuse.

I snapped out of my reminiscence and noticed that Tray was zoned out looking at me. I waved my paw in front of his face and he flinched back with a startle.

"Should I be the one to ask if your okay big boy. You seem more dazed than me." I chuckled and he gave me a nervous smile.

"No I'm okay, just wondering what your next class is?" Odd, but I looked at my schedule.

"Hmm...next is Geometry then Chorus after lunch." I noticed Tray's nub of a tail wagging a little with his cute behind.

"Great! I have both of those classes too. Let's hurry then shall we." The Rottweiler replied, guiding me to our next class, which really scared me.

This big beefcake has been acting a little too friendly with me. We never talked before till now and it was setting off all my warning signals in my head. When we made it there was two open seats in the back. Unfortunately, two other football players who bullied me were sitting by the open chairs too.

"There you are Big Dog!" Rex, a polar bear that was slightly bigger than Tray but a little fatter with muscle yelled out.

"Watch out bro! There's a faggot behind you!" A Gray hare by the name of Ty warned, glaring at me. I stop in my tracks while my stomach twisted into knots and searched for a different place to sit that was far away from the jocks.

I could already feel the tears swelling in my eyes when Tray placed a paw on my shoulder. I flinched from the contact and looked up at him. He gave me an apologetic smile and then turned to the hare.

"Shut the hell up you hoser. Sora is my friend and I don't appreciate your attitude towards him." Tray growled and guided my fearful behind in the chair away from the two jocks. The two jocks looked from me to Tray then back to me. The polar bear shrugged while the hare kept the same hateful glare.

"Sorry about Ty." Tray apologized to me and I tried to smile, but the tears were still in my eyes. The Rottweiler saw my wet eyes and looked down, like it was his fault I'm in this state.

"Hey I'm okay. It's nothing." I assured him, but the sound of my own voice faltered. Honestly, I wasn't all right. Even if I heard the same thing multiple times a day or even a month the pain it leaves behind remains, especially... I didn't realize I was shaking until the polar bear pointed it out.

"Hey bro? Is your little buddy all right? He's shaking something fierce." Rex asked, looking a little worried.

"Leave the fairy alone, he probably has a vibrator up his ass." Ty sneered flicking his tongue in disgust.

My breath hitched in my throat as the burning sensation of tears escaped my eyes.

'It hurts! Stop! P-Please...s-s-stop...' A memory I wanted forgotten came back like a wrecking ball and that was all it took to set me off.

Ms. Raven, a black sleek jaguar and the teacher for Geometry walked in, but I was at my breaking point and quickly got up. Ms. Raven jumped out of the way when I ran right past her to make my escape. She probably saw the tears running down my cheeks and my ears and tail painfully pinned against my body. I didn't wait for her to call out my name and ran straight to the nearest bathroom. Crying my eyes out as I sat on the floor waiting for the bell to ring so I wouldn't have to go back.

Tray's POV

When I saw Sora leaped out of his chair and run pass the teacher I was shocked, seriously considering killing the hare. What the hell did Sora ever do to him to deserve such disrespect? Ms. Raven walked up to us and in all purposes glared daggers at the three of us.

"Explain! Now! Why one of my students ran out of here crying." I growled at the hare and he looked annoyed between the teacher and me.

"It's not my fault the little tail raiser can't handle being called out for what he is!" Ty snarled at us showing off his big incisors.

If I thought Ms. Raven was scary before, well damn she was terrifying now. She looked damn right evil and grinned at the hare.

"Mr. Tie Granite, for your information my parents are both loving women that taught me to respect others and that you can love whoever you want. It also came to my understanding that Sora's uncle who is also teaching here was a retired cop and a happily married man to his husband. I'm sure he still has some connections to the police department if he heard someone was bulling his nephew." She warned, which made the hare gulp audibly.

I look toward Rex that wanted to laugh, but didn't want to get caught in the feline's wrath. But staying silent didn't help us as she turned to us next. I waved both of my paws up to show peace that I didn't share Ty's views and Rex did the same. She huffed and turned around, walking back to her desk. However, she looked back. "Tray...you seem more responsible than your two...classmates. Can you go find Sora and bring him back? Leaving without the hall pass might get him in unneeded trouble." The jaguar explained before continuing her walk. She obviously wasn't asking for an answer as I got up and grabbed the hall pass.

I wasn't sure where to start looking, but before I went to far I saw the same tiger from first period.

"Hey um...Excuse me...Alexis?" I called out and she turned with a bored expression after seeing me.

"What do you want jock?" She growled, taking me by surprise.

"Well...I was wondering if you saw Sora around here?" I asked and her bored face turned to pure rage.

"What the fuck did you do to my child?!" She roared grabbing me by the collar of my letterman jacket and pulled me quite hard until our faces were at eye level.

"I didn't do anything I swear. It was one of my friends that said something." I confessed that only got her to loosen the grip by a little.

"Sora ran out of class without a hall pass and I'm trying to find him before he gets into trouble for it." I explained and she finally let go looking calmer than when she first saw me.

"If Sora was being picked on what the hell were you doing? Why didn't you stand up for him?" Alexis glared still not trusting me I guess.

"Believe me I wanted to punch Ty and break his teeth, but he's my teammate. I can't."

"You can't or you won't because all I'm hearing is excuses. Do you even know what some of your teammates done to him? Let me tell you this, it's not just teasing and a little roughhousing. They targeted him from everyone in this damn school and made his life a living hell not just from last year but back in middle school too. Those dicks beat the shit out of him once that landed him in the hospital! He was too terrified to leave his room to come back to school for a week. That wasn't even the worst of it!" Alexis roared, showing off her pointed teeth that looked sharp enough to tear at my throat. Not only was she strong, but terrifying to boot.

This position and scenario was making me very uncomfortable. What the tiger said, however made me extremely worried for the Shiba. Now I desperately wanted to find him and fast. I just wanted to be his friend and after finally working up the courage to speak to him I ruin it. Honestly. I've known Sora for a while, who hasn't. All the teachers last year talked about him being there straight A student and boast about his charming and kind heartiness. While, I'm nothing more than a football player. Luckily my grades are A's and B's so I'm not the stereotypical dumb jock. Last year was when I first saw him.

We were having a prep rally for the sport teams and after the cheerleaders did there 'raw raw' thing. The music changed to something catchy. Most of the girls on the bleachers and female sport teams cheered, while all the guys were confused as fuck like me. I overheard one of the softball girls' claimed that the song was 'Cover Girl' after shouting her love for it. I'll admit it's okay. A group of girls came out dressed in varied neon jackets with the hoodies on. I couldn't see their faces because of the hoodies, but their ears peaked through the opening on top.

I scanned all of them until my eyes lay upon one dancer that had one characteristic difference from the others. They were all wearing the same black high heels, black tight fitting shorts, and white shirts. However one girl in particular had text on her shirt and she was standing in front of the rest. Her neon jacket was orange as it covered her slender body perfectly. Her white shirt glowed with her white fur, but when I looked at her ears and tail when she turned. There was orange as well. A very lovely shade of orange. What made her attire complete was the text on her shirt 'Bite Me' that ran across her chest in black.

I wasn't the only guy that noticed her as some of the guys made comments about her nice juicy ass and whistled to her. Of course she ignored them, focused mostly on her position. I couldn't disagree with them. She was just...wow, but I'm with my darling Sarah. The song stopped and replayed, signaling the dancers to begin their performance. They moved in beat with the rhythm and gyrated their hips. Each step was precise as they walked in the heels without flaw, showing off their beautiful legs. My eyes never left the girl with the orange jacket and her movements were as graceful as a feather in the breeze.

Yet there was a power and a hint of seduction with each twist of her body that made her round ass bounce I could only guess that her species was a dog like me since her tail was long, orange, and curly. When they twirled around to show us their backs. They did a small twerk that made some of the guy's tongues hang out on the side of their muzzles. A bulge obviously showing in some of the sweatpants and gym shorts around me. Embarrassingly I was sporting one too, thanks to the orange dancer's sexy moves.

It wasn't until the end of the dance when the dancers removed their hoodies and I waited eagerly to see who was the 'Bite Me' dancer. I wasn't the only guy in the group of jocks surprised to see that the orange dancer was a male Shiba. When he turned around I saw those warm violet eyes land on me. They pulled me towards him and the smile he gave sent shivers down my spine. I wanted to talk to him, but we weren't allowed to stand so I saw him walk to the corner with the other dancers. I noticed Sarah and some of the cheerleaders sneer at him. Whatever they said seemed to hurt him. His tail was curled between his legs and his ears pinned to his skull. Two dancers a tiger and bunny intercepted the cheerleader's bulling and helped the Shiba join the rest of the group.

That was the first time I saw Sora and wanted to befriend him. I didn't know the bullying was that bad when I started to take notice of him?

Alexis's anger started to settle as she took a deep breath.

"Okay. Follow me." She said walking toward the closest bathroom. Without stopping she walked into the boy's bathroom without a hint of hesitation. I had to pause for a sec before I joined her inside. When I entered the bathroom the sound of sobs could be heard echoing against the tile walls.

'Well I didn't have to go too far.' I thought before I hurried over to the stall where the tiger waited by the locked door.

"Puppy, It's me. Let me in please. It's okay." I watched as the tiger press her head on the door waiting for the little Shiba to allow passage. Instead the door remained closed as the sobs subsided into silence.

"Damn it Sora let us in!" She roared that made me jump.

'What happened to being gentle?' I winced when I heard the pup whimper behind the door.

"Alexis, don't you think you're being a little too forceful." I asked only to be given a death glare that could melt the flesh off my bones.

"No, I'm not. If I don't then he'll just become reclusive and might hurt himself again." The tiger sighed and tried again, only to prove fruitless.

'Again? Pup...' How was I so blind to not notice his suffering?

I thought perfect students get everything they want, but it just occurred to me that it painted a bigger target on Sora. This has been going on since middle school? Or was it longer than that? How much pain and loneliness has this pup endured while I lived a carefree life.

"Sora...it's me." I spoke doubting the Shiba would respond or open the door. To my surprise, shuffling could be heard on the other side. The tiger looked at me and signaled me to keep going.

"Can you please open the door? I know you're not the type that wants to make your friends worry." There was a bit more shuffling until I saw his shoes under the stall door.

I know now wasn't the right time to cheer, but he was starting to come out. However, what waited for me quickly extinguish my cheerful mood as I saw the most heart-wrenching pup in my life. His cheek ruff was all matted with tears and his violet eyes were surrounded by red rather than white. His fur was disheveled everywhere while his ears and tail were fastened to his body. Was this really the same pup that jumped for joy when he saw his uncle this morning?

Alexis sprang away from the door before she fell over and took in the same site as me.

"Oh pup-" The tiger was cut off when the Shiba started to cry again.

"I-I'm s-so-sorry for w-worrying y-y-you! I-I-" I couldn't handle it anymore and grabbed the pup's arm and brought him into my embrace. He tried to apologize some more for stupid stuff like getting tears on my shirt and jacket but I hushed him and said it was all right. I held him there for I don't know how long, but when he finally stopped, he started to nuzzle my chest. I didn't mind the affection, but it was beginning to get warm under my collar.

Alexis just gave a smirk to her little friend and looked to me mouthing off a 'thank you' with a genuine smile this time.

"S-sorry again." Sora mumbled with a crack in his voice under my chest.

"Stop apologizing pup. Ty is to blame, not you so stop faulting yourself for who you are." I replied, rubbing the Shiba's back in a gentle circular motion. I was lost in the tender moment until a not so discreet cough broke me out of my trance.

I turned to the tiger that pointed to her wrist, signaling that time is running out.

"Sora. We have to get back to class." I stated. The pup's ears splayed a little, but nodded his head in agreement. Traces of distress still haunt the little Shiba's eyes when he looks up at me.

"Can...you wait a little?" Sora whispered barely audible. I nodded my head as he went by the sinks to wash his face. Alexis went into the stall and came back with a paw full of toilet paper, waiting for when Sora finished washing his face.

"What is your intent with my child Tray?" The tiger asked with a stern and quiet voice so the Shiba couldn't hear. I was taken aback by Alexis's words.

Of course I want to be the Shiba's friend, but to also protect him. Not sure why, but my protective instincts kick in when I'm with the little pup.

"I just want to be his friend." I answered. Alexis turned to me and gave a focused examination debating if my answer was sincere. She closed her eyes and used her free paw to pinch the bridge between her eyes.

"I'll believe you for now Tray Gale, but I swear if you inflict harm in any way to Sora or ignore his cries of need. So help me, I will rip out your eyes and shove them down your throat so you can watch me tear your carcass limb from limb!" Alexis roared the last line in a hushed manner that still kept its menacing promise.

I gulped hard, but stood firm as I harden my resolve.

"Alexis, I swear to protect and help Sora in any possible way that requires my aid. That's what friends are for, right." I answered with a cheeky grin and got a slap on the shoulder.

"Real cute. Look alive." The tiger warned as the little Shiba finished washing his face. She handed him the tissues, but used a couple to help dry specific spots he couldn't reach. When Sora was done drying he went back to his cheerful nature like nothing transpired during Geometry.

"Still a little wet behind the ears." I stated and grabbed a few tissues from the stall.

I came back and placed my paw with the tissues behind the pup's ears to dry. When they brushed gently against his ears, Sora let out a soft moan. Paralyzed, I looked down at the pup whose face fur grew crimson red. If there was any yellow on his muzzle, he could have looked like a wild fire. I smirked and continued to press the tissues against the Shiba's ears, earning more moans as the little guy tried to stifle them.

"Ticklish are we?" I teased playfully. He nodded, still red from embarrassment, but it was actually really cute.

I could hear Alexis groan behind us near the door as her patience begin to wither.

"Boys as nice as it is to see young love. I need to get back to class, so get your tails in gear and hurry up." The tiger informed tapping one of her hind-paws. Now it was my turn to grow red and it seemed that Sora's blush just got brighter by the comment. I coughed, trying to soothe the heat rising towards my face and help guide the Shiba through the door while Alexis held it open for us.

Sora's POV

'Why did you have to say that Alexis?' I groaned inwardly as the blush on my face grew tenfold. I looked up to Tray who was almost as red as me under his ebony and tan fur when we exited the bathroom. Alexis waved bye and gave me a very tight hug before quickly running to the opposite direction from our path. When the tiger disappeared behind her classroom door, I let out a sigh. When we began to walk toward our class. I looked up once more to the Rottweiler and realized he was looking at me as well. We were staring at each other until I couldn't hold it in any more and began to laugh.

He gave me a silly grin and laughed with me, however, slowly Tray's facial features started to look more serious.

"Sora I'm really sorry about Ty and I mean it. I should have stopped him from insulting you, but instead I just sat there not even trying. Please forgive me for being a stupid jock." Tray apologized looking down right defeated. Shame saturated his posture as his ears drooped. The brightness in his blue eyes was dull without a trace of the Rottweiler's usual happy-go-lucky persona.

I hesitated to respond for only a second before I rushed in front of Tray, stopping him from walking any further.

"That's not true! You defended me when we first entered the classroom...no one has ever tried to protect me before except for Alexis and Clover. What you did means the world to me Tray!"

Sugar sticks. I feel completely exposed today. Tray has seen me at my best and worse moments and here I am trying to console this huge Rottweiler. I think Tray was blushing a little, as he seemed to be contemplating something. He looked directly into my eyes and returned to his cheerful self. Placing a paw on both of my shoulders that made my insides shiver. He turned me around and placed me on his side with a paw on my back. Guiding me back to class with his paw still in its cozy spot, but it felt like it was going lower slightly.

There was no one in the halls as we walked back in silence. It was a comfortable kind of silence, not an awkward one. Since there was no one in the halls at the time, it felt like tray was pulling me a little closer to him. He repositioned his paw from my back to around my waist. I would be lying if I said I didn't like the attention. I could feel his body heat as we walked side by side. Sadly it didn't last long as we made it back to class. We separated from one another before Tray reached for the nob to open the door for me.

I could still feel the warmth on my hip and side where our bodies made contact.

I entered the classroom with a faint blush upon the memory, but quickly shook it off as everyone's eyes were on us. Ms. Raven stopped her lesson briefly and gave me a warm, yet relieved smile upon my return.

"Ah, Its good to have you back Sora as for you to Tray. Now place the hall pass on my desk and take your seats." The cougar started where she left off on the lesson.

I was cautious to go back to where the unpleasant hare sat, but I didn't have a choice. Tray noticed my hesitation and tried to reassure me with a comforting smile. His eyes told me everything will be all right, that he was there for me. I couldn't help smiling back. As we walked towards the back where the two other football players sit. To my surprise the hare wasn't there. Rex, on the other paw noticed us coming and looked down at his desk with his small white ears back.

"Hey Big Dog...Hey Little Dog..." Rex whispered so the teacher wouldn't catch him. He seemed the same, but something else was mixed into his voice. Tray for some reason decided to move me in his seat so I would be in the middle of the bear and dog sandwich.

"Where's Ty?" Tray asked coldly, having to say the hare's name.

"The teach sent him to the principal's office because he wouldn't shut up about being a homophobe. He kept insulting Little Dog here and like a moron saying a thing or two about Ms. Raven's parents. I was pretty impressed how she took it so calmly, but Ty on the other hand went out like a firecracker." Rex sighed and looked down at me with a sad look in his hazel eyes.

"Look I'm sorry for the way Ty's been bashing on you...and I need to apologize too for the shit I did. Last year I just wanted to be one of the guys and hurting you was an easy ticket. It was stupid and I didn't consider your feelings in the matter. The last thing I ever want is to be feared rather than liked. I don't expect you to for-"

"I forgive you." I whispered back to the bear with a genuine smile. He stared at me with a face of bewilderment like I grew a second head or something.

"Dude...I don't understand. Why are you forgiving me so easily? I called you names and pushed you around all last year. "Rex asked completely baffled by my attempt to bury the hatchet.

"Rex...I forgive you because I've known all along that you were a good fur. Besides the things you did were nothing compared to the other bullies I had." I reassured him and looked up at his childlike eyes.

"You haven't sent me to the hospital yet." Rex's face suddenly went wide eye at the disturbing news. He wasn't the only one. Tray shared the same reaction to my confession. The Rottweiler mumbled something to himself that I couldn't catch.

"What was that Tray?" I whispered to him.

"Huh, oh nothing. Just remembered something Alexis told me. Don't worry about it." Tray answered, but I wasn't really satisfied with his answer.

"Who was it?" The polar bear questioned me.

"Excuse me?"

"Who was it that sent you to the hospital?" Rex clarified.

"Oh...No." Rex and Tray stared at me perplexed as to why I'm withholding information of my assailants.

"Sora, please tell us-" Tray began, but stopped when I glared at him.

"If I told you both who did it. What would be the point? There's no reason for me to bring back painful memories now. Besides I don't want to cause tension to either of you or the team. So please drop the subject." I wasn't comfortable enough to reopen those wounds and thankfully they did what I asked as we got back to the lesson.

Ms. Raven wrote the chapter for the homework on the white board as everyone copied it. I could hear and feel when Rex grumbled his distaste for the 'teacher's method of torture' as the polar bear puts it. After we got up to leave Rex put his fist out to Tray to get a fist bump while I was packing my things to go. But when I looked up Rex had his fist facing me too. He looked at me with a huge grin that showed his sharp pretty whites. I was debating whether to fist bump or not, but I did it anyway.

Rex's grin turned to a full-blown smile as I bumped his fist with my own. I was expecting Tray and Rex to leave to join their fellow ball players, but they decided to join me to the cafeteria. We talked a bit and unexpectedly, I seem to have a few things in common with Rex. Rex doesn't like school work all too well but he does fancy reading adventure and other genre of literature like me. We were discussing a book called "Fell" on our way to the cafeteria. The main character was a young orphan girl that lives in a superstitious village and escapes to find the truth about her heritage. Traveling with a feral wolf that she made an unexpected bond with on her journey and becoming a fearsome warrior.

Tray seemed pretty interested in the story as Rex and I reflected on the pros and cons of the book, plus the characters that pissed us off the most. It was a pretty good read, which we both agreed on. Before we made it to the double doors, he gave me a list of books he's read from the top of his head. Tray didn't add anything to our discussion since he didn't read the book, but he appeared content on listening.

As we walked through the double doors, students can be seen in line to get their lunch. Luckily for me papa made my lunch. If the students weren't in line, then they were sitting on the benches in their individual groups. Rex went to the line to get the school's first day special, pepperoni pizza with coconut ice cream. I spotted Alexis and Clover in our usual table, away from the crowd and any prying eyes.

I started to walk over there expecting both of the men to get lunch, but Tray decided to follow me to the girls. When the tiger and bunny notice us coming over, Alexis was smiling ear to ear. But Clover was showing her protective side when she saw the huge Rottweiler behind me.

"Tray, Tray Gale." Clover huffed, disliking the jocks presence at our table. Tray stopped a few steps away from the bench who seemed confused if Clover was asking if that was his name or stating who he was.

"U-um." Tray stuttered. Alexis decided to throw the dog a bone for the bathroom incident.

"Calm down Honey Bunny. He's cool and I already gave him the talk." Alexis winked at Tray who let out a grateful sigh of thanks for keeping the bunny at bay. I giggled a little at the show. Tray growled playfully at me with a. I dare say sexy grin that made my legs turn to jelly.

"You think this is funny pup?"

I didn't get a chance to answer before the Rottweiler lifted me up off the ground bridal style. I know my face must have been extremely red due to the heat rushing toward my head. Meanwhile Clover and Alexis were laughing their heads off at my embarrassment. I know I shouldn't, but out of my own mortification I buried my head into Tray's firm chiseled chest. The big dog woofed when I shoved my muzzle in between his pecks.

When I let out a breath through my muzzle I could have sworn the Rottweiler shivered. But I couldn't go deeper into the thought as he placed me back down on my hind-paws. However, a light blush was showing on his face too. When I turned to the two girls sitting on the bench, Clover was whispering something into Alexis's round ear.

"What are you two up to?" I questioned suspiciously when my blush subsided.

"Oh, nothing~." They both answered together in a singsong tone. I just shrugged and took my seat across from them and Tray decided to sit next to me instead with the other popular furs at their table.

Tray noticed my confused look and shrugged.

"I don't feel like sitting with the team today." He answered which sounded pretty sincere. I took out the bagged lunch from my bag, but before I could place it on the table someone snatched it. When the overall shock passed, I saw a paw holding my lunch and another paw gripping the thief's wrist in a death grip.

"Ow! What the fuck Tray! Let go!" The thief snapped who was the wide receiver on the football team.

"Drop. The. Bag. Gym. Now!" Tray growled out each word while showing off his canines toward the Cheetah.

"Why the hell are you protecting this fag or even sitting with them?!" Gym hissed unsheathing his claws.

"Sora and these two are my friends Spots so back off or someone is going to lose some lives." Tray threated the feline, which shocked me. My heart skipped a beat by my knight in shining armor. The cheetah looked ready to pounce until a huge white paw covered his shoulder completely.

"Gym, What are you doing man? Why are picking on Sora?"

When he looked up to see whom the paw belong to it was Rex and Gym appeared to be trapped between a rock and a hard place. The cheetah growled and dropped the bag, but I caught it before it hit the ground.

"You can let go of me now!" He hissed. Both Tray and Rex removed their paws as the feline stalked away to the table full of football players. I saw the hare with them, glaring at me as the cheetah tries to start a conversation.

I returned my attention back to Rex, who was holding his tray of food and I gestured for him to sit on my other side if he wanted. He took the offer and once again I became the center of the dog and bear sandwich. Alexis and Clover, both looked at the massive polar bear that decided to sit with us curiously.

"Is there something on my face ladies? I haven't even dug into my food yet." Rex joked, which earned a giggle from Clover and an eye roll from Alexis. I couldn't help but giggle too.

"You must be Rex Artic. Am I right?" Clover asked the polar bear that nodded stuffing his face with pizza.

"My name is Clover Spring and this is the love of my life Alexis Willow. Its nice to meet you Rex." Clover greeted while starting on her Cucumber salad. Rex didn't seem fazed by the information that the two girls were dating and put out a paw with a thumb up gesture still stuffing his face.

"Thanks for the aid dude. I was surprised to see Gym pull something like that." Tray thanked the bear that nodded his head in agreement after swallowing the mouth full of cheese and pepperoni.

"Right Big Dog. Friends help friends out, besides if I didn't do something. You would have probably sent Spots to the nurse for stealing your pup's food." Rex grinned when both Tray and I blushed.

"Hey! He's our puppy!" Clover argued, crossing her arms.

"That's right. Tray first needs our blessing before he can try to court our boy." Alexis added nodding her head. I wanted the ground to swallow me up right now. How in the world did my first day of school result to this.

I possibly have two new friends who happen to be football players in our school. One right now seems to be as embarrassed as me while the other is laughing along with Alexis and Clover over their parenting acting skills.

"No way! You like anime too?" Rex questioned the tiger that nodded with a smile.

"Awesome! There're not a lot of girls who like that sort of thing. All they want to be is girly. Caring only for clothes and makeup and other female things. That's actually why I broke up with my ex-girlfriend. She just wanted me for my statues and money so I dumped her. Well, that and she dissed 'Attack on Titan' for being a waste of her time."

"Rex, tell me this bitch's name so I can find her and slap some sense into her. No one, and I mean no one disses my favorite anime and gets away with it." Alexis growled and I couldn't tell if she was joking or not.

"Alexis..." I whimpered worried at what she'll do.

"I'm joking! Partly." She coughed the last part, which started another round of laugher. I took my food out of my bag and just like papa described, it was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with Doritos. When I started to unwrap the clear wrap on the sandwich. I noticed Tray didn't have a lunch.

Tray noticed my eyes wander on to him and shrugged.

"I don't have the money to get a lunch, but it's fine." I didn't feel right eating when the Rottweiler couldn't, so I spit my sandwich in half as best as I could and offered him the bigger piece. At first he declined the offer, but after seeing my 'puppy dog eyes' he reconsidered. I even opened my bag of chips and placed it in the center between us. So my lunch for one became a lunch for two as we shared the meal. Alexis and Clover were giggling, but I didn't care why because I was really enjoying the company.

Two minutes for lunch was left and I pouted a little having to end our get together. It was a lot more fun having two extra friends to talk about things and Alexis and Clover seem to have taken a liking to the two jocks. I was beginning to get up from the bench for class as Tray did the same. A lot of the students still remained and to my misfortune the popular furs were still at their table too. They were glaring at me as I walked by and I could see Ty and Gym were no exception. The head cheerleader Sarah, Tray's ex also looked at my direction. But her eyes were on the Rottweiler rather than me. Until Tray placed his paw on my back to help guide me through the benches, then her eyes were on me. Like an invisibility cloak was just removed and she could see me as clear as day. She looked revolted seeing Tray hanging around me and quickly rushed over to us.

"Babe! What are you doing hanging out with such a...peculiar...animal. Your presence deserves someone better to hang out with, like me for example. Come on, sugar we can go back to our table. I'm sure the others can overlook your slip on picking a fairy for a friend then us." The Spaniel said, acting innocent, even though everything she just said was an insult towards me. I couldn't help whimper a little by the abuse and Tray wasn't very happy with Sarah's words either.

"I am not your babe or sugar after you cheated on me. We are never getting back together ever and don't think I'm a dumb jock who couldn't catch how many times you bad mouthed my friend here. I don't need friends who believe picking on others is justified and frankly, I would rather hang with Sora over your cold-hearted ass." Tray growled in her face and pushed me away from the now flabbergasted bitch.

Before we passed the double doors to exit the cafeteria, I looked back to see the spaniel blowing a gasket, screaming curses like it was the fourth of July. I'm not sure if anyone else heard what Tray said, but the blush on my face wouldn't go away even when we walked all the way to the theater for class. Tray still looked pissed, but soften when he saw the concern in my eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked, walking by his side now rather than being pushed. He sighed and looks more tired after dealing with that.

"Yeah...Its just, I loved her and she cheated on me. I mean, sure I was taking it slow. I'm old fashioned, its how I was raised. I want to make sure the love was real before I jump into any kind of commitment. Guess she didn't feel the same."

I didn't like how depressed Tray was getting over this topic, but I wanted to be supportive so I placed a paw on his shoulder and gave a comfortable squeeze. He looked down at me and gave a warm hearted smile, which I returned ten fold.

"Thanks for that pup. I'm sorry you had to experience that. I never knew or realized she was that...egocentric." Tray said, lifting his arms and rolled his paws for effect. Tray smiled when he made me giggle. When we made it to the double doors to the theater, there were a handful of students sitting on the audience chairs. We decided to sit too, until the bell rang and the teacher came in. Mrs. Winter walked in holding a karaoke box that we used on our break time after dance practice during the summer.

"Hello class. I see you've all been waiting for me-" The fox was interrupted as a familiar spaniel ran in.

"Sorry for keeping you waiting! Your star is here so all you back up singers can stay seated." Sarah boasted, earning a scowl from everyone. I couldn't hold back the disappointment as I whimpered. Sarah noticed us and strolled by like nothing in the cafeteria happened. Ignoring me complete, she took a seat on Tray's lap.

The Rottweiler grunted when the extra weight was added to his crotch, but growled afterwards that the act was not appreciated.

"Sarah, I don't like tardiness, but I'll let it pass since it's the first day. There are also many open chairs for you to sit on." Mrs. Winter informed a little irritated.

"Okay and I'm good where I'm sitting." Sarah answered back nuzzling against the Rottweiler's chest. I Honestly felt sick watching that.

Tray looked really annoyed and got up lifting the spaniel too, placing her in his chair. I became extremely flustered as he suddenly picked me up and moved me with him to another chair on the opposite row end from Sarah and placed me on his lap when he sat down. I was confused and blushing like mad as I felt my behind press against the other dog's crotch. I felt his arms try to get comfortable with the position by wrapping around my waist and bringing me closer to him. I started to shake a little and I think I was making it harder for Tray too since he began to rumble.

"Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable, but I rather have you sit on my lap to prevent that bitch from trying again...maybe...you can stop shaking. You're kind of...grinding against me." Tray informed me coughing in a low whispered tone in my ear. I shivered a bit stronger this time that didn't help as I felt something poking me. I slowly tilted my head to look at the Rottweiler's face. He was growing red just like me.

Ahem*

I quickly turned my attention back to Mrs. Winter who had an amused grin on her red and white slender muzzle. Compared to Sarah, who was fuming and murmuring curses under her breath at me.

"Now if we can get back on topic. Welcome to Chorus where you will be learning to sing and perform in harmony. Today I brought my karaoke box for each of you to sing on stage so I can get an idea where your placement will be. After that you can sing as much as you want." The vixen explained, bringing out a clipboard list for the attendance probably.

"Sora, can you help me set up the karaoke box? You can have Tray help you if you need." Mrs. Winter asked, pointing to the machine while her muzzle was still directed to the clipboard.

Standing up I put a paw out to help the big dog up. We're both blushing with embarrassment.

"Um... Sorry. You probably didn't want a guy on your lap, especially me. Now, are you going to help me or what?" I questioned with a genuine smile. Tray's blush disappeared immediately and was replaced with a stern sad expression as he took my paw, covering mine with his.

"Thanks...and for your information. I find you very beautiful Sora." The Rottweiler whispered into my ear when he was close enough to cause my entire body to shiver. I was so surprised by his sweet words that I almost collapsed from my jelly legs. Good thing he caught me in time, but the new position didn't help the blush on my face.

It looked like the Rottweiler was going to dip kiss me. Tray quickly brought me back up on my feet. Acting like nothing happened, we both made our way to the machine blushing still. I had Tray move the machine onto the stage as I went to plug it into the outlet. Mrs. Winter finished taking attendance and looked up towards me on the stage. She gave me that same amused grin on her muzzle as before. Calling the first name on the list to perform. Overall, a lot of the students were amazing, until Sarah was called up next singing 'Hit me Baby One More Time.' I think my ears were bleeding and I know it's an exaggeration, but I wasn't the only one who thought it.

Tray and some of the other students covered their ears, while a few of them were lucky enough to have ear buds to block the banshee's singing. Mrs. Winter Looked calm and collected to an untrained eye, but she was on the verge of tears as well. She finally stopped the music to end the torture.

"Thank you Sarah for that...performance. You can take your seat now while Tray goes up next." I signaled the Rottweiler that it was his turn since his ears were covered.

I was surprised he picked a country song to sing. The karaoke machine echoed the song's title, which was "See You Again," by Carrie Underwood. Tray started to sing when the melody played. His voice was clear yet deep with a hint of an accent. He literally took my breath away as I listened to his wonderful manly singing. When he was finally done, I clapped like my life depended on it. He was truly amazing both in body and soul. He walked down the side stage stairs toward my location. A shiver ran through my body as he strolled my way in slow motion, but that thought came to a halt when Sarah pushed me to the side and ran to the Rottweiler.

Losing my balance I collided with one of the theater chairs. And since it's a hard piece of wood for a chair I yelped when my elbow made contact. I sat on the ground nursing my elbow as burning tears threatened to escape my eyes. Shutting my eyes tight I rubbed the spot to ease the pain. I didn't realize I was whimpering the whole time too. I felt arms wrap around me and that was when I opened my eyes to see Tray. He helped me up with a worried expression and turned to Sarah with a growl.

Both Sarah and I were surprised, but she scoffed and sat back down. Tray's attention came back to me and checked my elbow, which didn't hurt as much as before, so it wasn't broken. Thank god. Mrs. Winter walked towards us with concern in her eyes, but when I signaled that I was okay she continued.

"That looks to be everyone so we'll start-" Mrs. Winter stopped when she noticed the Rottweiler's paw up.

"Yes. Tray, is something wrong?" She asked.

"What about Sora? He didn't go up yet." Tray said, looking at me confused. I was blushing slightly and Mrs. Winter chuckled a little.

"Oh I already know where Sora goes since we use the karaoke machine during the summer for dance class. But if you want to hear him sing you need to ask him." She said pointing to me. Tray looked down at me with a begging look in his eyes. I sighed and decided to comply with his desires.

Slowly but surely walking up the stairs to be on the stage.

Tray's POV

I watched the small Shiba walk up each creaky wooden step until he was in the blistering spot light picking a song. My nub tail wagged excitedly as I held my breath, peering over his figure. I could see his chest and stomach through the thin-layered black fabric of the shirt. The light reflected off his beautiful white and orange fur in a way that looked majestic and soft to the touch. If only I could feel it-No wait, what am I thinking?! I jolted out of my day dreaming when the machine echoed the song title. "Perfect," by Ed Sherman started to play.

I choked on my saliva almost going into a coughing fit. Covering my muzzle I looked up at Sora a bit flustered. And yet I couldn't turn away from his lovely haunting voice. It wasn't as deep as mine and the more he sang the more I wanted it to last. I was so lost in his melody that our eyes met and I couldn't turn away. I stared into those gorgeous glimmering amethyst eyes, which reflected emotions I couldn't place. By the end of the song we were all clapping when he walked down the stairs towards me. My breath hitched inside my throat and my heart fluttered as he stood in front of me.

He was truly beautiful... A cough interrupted my thoughts. Both Sora and I turned to see a pissed Sarah glaring between us. I ignored the bitch and was about to compliment the Shiba's singing before the spaniel went mad. She tackled Sora to the ground and tried to claw his eyes out. I don't know what happened after I saw red, but when I came to. Sora was wrapped into my arms crying and Sarah was planted on her stomach as some of the other student's held her down. She cussed and cursed at Sora and me, but mostly to Sora. I held him tighter and whispered sweet words until security came and took her away.

As soon as she left I pulled Sora away to see the damage and noticed it wasn't too bad, just some scratches. Still, that bitch had the gall to attack my pup-My pup?! I looked down at Sora and our eyes met again. I wasn't sure how many times, but each time I would just lose myself in them. They held so much appreciation, awe, and...love? My heart skipped a beat thinking that maybe, just considering... No, I-I need time to process this. For now I held Sora and helped him up When Mrs. Winter walked to us concerned. I could see Sora was dazed by the attack, but he nodded his head when the teacher asked if he was all right. She sighed and gave a half-hearted smile before instructing Sora and me to sit in the front row.

If Sora weren't clinging to my shirt so tightly, Mrs. Winter would have me join the other students practice. But in truth, I didn't want to leave Sora's side after what he just went through. Although, One thought went through my mind and that would be Alexis going on a witch-hunt for Sarah, which brought a pleased smile to my face.

By the time class ended Sora thanked me for the support. He looked like an adorable puppy when he slightly tilted his head. Staring up at me with those big puppy dog eyes, which made my heart flutter. A heat rushed up my neck and burned my face as I gave him a smile I hoped wasn't goofy looking. We went our separate ways and I waved at him before he entered the school building. I made my way to the fitness room for Weight Lifting class with a thrilled yet disappointed grin when I couldn't share another class with him today.

The fitness room was above the gym near the field. So the first thing to do was change in the locker room. Before entering I spotted one of my friends from the team. I called out to the Husky in the same purple and white letterman jacket. He was a traditional black and white husky with a slight brown highlight between the fur colors. He turned around immediately with a huge grin plastered on his face. Trotting towards me with a major wag in his tail.

"What's up dude?! Haven't seen you at lunch, what were you doing?" He asked curiously. I smiled and waved my paw lazily. "I was hanging with a new friend Luka."

"Oh I see how it is. In with the new and out with the old, eh." Luka teased playfully. I laughed and slapped his back hard enough to knock him over. He yelped and winced. "Ouch! Damn Rex was right, you are a big dog."

We both laughed and walked our way to the locker room where my cheerful mood dropped like an unexpected tackle from an opposing team player. The reason being a snubbed jackass of a hare, glaring at me the moment I entered the room. I tried to ignore Ty, but he was beginning to get on my nerves. After changing into my workout clothes that bastard was at the exit, talking to Luka, Boris, Rob, and Jessie. Boris and Rob are twin panda bears that play for defense. The only sign to tell them apart was their head fur facing the opposite direction like a mirror reflection. Those two were like polar opposites where if one were into sweets then the other would like bitter things instead.

Jessie's a pretty fit Doberman, not as buff or big as me but close. He was just about the same height as Luka. Whatever the case, Ty was talking behind my back, and the expression between the other jocks shifted from annoyance to pissed.

"Shut up already fucker!" Jessie growled, showing off his canines at the hare. Ty flinched and snarled at Jess.

"What the fuck do you mean shut up?! Tray is hanging with a fag over us. Maybe he's a queer too-" Ty didn't get a chance to finish when the Doberman grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him off his hind-paws.

"I'm telling you to shut up because my little brother is gay and I will not tolerate a homophobic prick like you giving this team a bad name." I was speechless and froze in my tracks watching the scene transpire. Ty was dangling trying to free himself, acting like he was being infected with the gays or something. Boris huffed angrily and growled.

"Dude it's 2018. If you're not gay or bi then there's something wrong with you." The buff panda bear claimed crossing his arms. Luka, Jess, and I looked at him, but he shrugged it off. The hare on the other paw was foaming at the mouth, with a look of murder.

"Your all fags every fucking one of you!" Get your tainted hands off of me, you abomination!" Jessie smirked and threw the hare into the open boys' bathroom near the exit. We looked at him and couldn't help the grin forming on our muzzles. We all walked outside to enter from the side stairs. I wasn't quite expecting support for hanging out with Sora, but I appreciate it. Coach Miranda stood waiting for us as we filed into the smile room. Ty was the last to enter, but didn't go to the other side without giving us a dose of hate.

There was a limit to the number of people up in the fitness room because of school rules, so the team was split up between classes. We went over the usual safety tips and the do's and don'ts for the equipment. We broke out in our separate groups or went solo on some of the machines. I joined Luka on the treadmills to warm up our bodies before moving to the more serious workout. Sweat was dripping off my body as I continued my pace, however Ty had other ideas. I didn't see it coming before it was too late. He threw his sweat towel at my feet. Causing me to trip and be sent flying off the mill. I was dazed but seeing that damn rabbit snicker off to the corner with a scornful smirk pissed me off.

I jumped up ready to beat that smirk off his buck tooth face, but a white paw kept me in place. I turned around to see Luka is holding me down. His face alone told me enough to calm down, however he growled at the hare with the same amount of venom.

"What the hell was that Ty? You could have hurt Tray." Luka tried to say as calmly as possible through his own anger. The hare turned around and laughed in our faces. "Oh are you pissed off because I hurt your fucking boy toy-"

"Mr. Granite!" Mr. Miranda sharp and deep voice echoed in the room, silencing whatever the hare was about to say. We all turned to our coach who was a very pissed bull. Veins bulged out from every muscle on his body under the short fur. Mr. Miranda can be a hard ass on the field, but he's like a second father to us.

"I will not tolerate anymore of this behavior! We are a team and your actions Mr. Granite has shown me you lack that understanding. I am very disappointed and if you don't change, then you give me no other options but to dismiss you from the team." The bull said tightly. Ty sneered, but the reality of his choices sank in. He huffed and stormed off to the weights. I sighed thankfully for Mr. Miranda's help. The bull on the other paw sighed tiredly and rubbed his face with his hoofed fingers.

"Are you okay Coach?"

"Hm? Oh yeah. Just getting over a hangover. Went drinking with an old friend last night." He confessed, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. Coach is a pretty laid back fur like Rex. But the bull had a much easier way to show his pissed face dealing with morons like Ty or when we mess up a play.

We both laughed and continued our workouts until class ended. Practice wouldn't start until the end of this month, so it was time to head home. I noticed Ty and some of the other player glaring at me when I packed my things, but I ignored them until Jessie walked up to me. He seemed anxious and stood there with nothing but an awkward silence. I raised an eyebrow and gestured him to speak.

"U-um, So your friends with Sora right?" He asked, looking straight down at the ground like it's the most interesting thing on the planet. I've never seen Jess act like this before and it was weird.

"Yeah, Why are you asking?" The Doberman's muscles tensed, finally meeting my eyes with...tears?

"Tray...I did something I should never have done last year... Back then I-I thought it was justified, but when my baby brother started to distance himself from me... He told me he was gay and-and that I terrify him. He found out about some of the guys and me sending Sora to the hospital. I-"

Jessie jolted back when I smashed my fist into the locker leaving a huge dent. If I weren't conscience of my own actions I would say a feral animal was oozing off bloodlust in the locker room. Of all the furs that beat my pup it had to be Jessie? I was beyond pissed and the Doberman could sense it.

"Give meh one good reason why aah shouldn't beat your skull against this locker right now?!" I roared. Jessie froze and started to tremble with tears.

"I-I don't have a reason! I deserve ten times the amount of pain I inflicted on him! I wasn't thinking and just followed...Tray I want to apologize to him." Jess whined with a crack in his voice.

I was furious, but Jessie was trying to make amends for his errors. I diminished the flames of rage and looked at him neutrally.

"Fine...I'll take you to Sora, but you better tell me how it happened and who was there with you!" I growled jabbing his chest with a finger. He looked down, ashamed and nodded his head in understanding. The Doberman isn't an idiot by any means, but he can be easily persuaded into doing stupid stuff without second-guessing. I exit the lockers with Jessie following me behind until we reached the locked front gate. I spotted Sora's fluffy orange and white tail in the tightly packed space of students. To my surprise Rex was with them and he noticed me first. He grinned and poked the Shiba's head. I could see him rub the spot before turning in my direction. He looked surprised and happy till it morphed into complete horror.

Jessie was on my right and his ears went back after seeing Sora's reaction. Sora jumped behind Rex, causing the polar bear to raise an eyebrow at us. I pushed through the mass of students carefully until both Jessie and I made it to wear Rex and Sora was.

"Hey Big Dog. Care to explain what got Little Dog all rattled?" He asked with concern in his eyes. I moved behind him wear Sora was clinging to Rex's letterman jacket. I would be lying if I said I wasn't feeling a little bit jealous that Sora was finding comfort in anywhere but my arms. Placing a gentle paw on the Shiba's head, he turned to look at me with terrified and teary eyes.

"Hey everything is okay. Jessie just has something to tell you, he's not going to hurt you I swear." I said reassuringly. He slowly unclenched the jacket and grabbed my open paw I offered to him. Sora's paw was constricting the feeling from my paw, but it was very soft and lush. Sora was facing the Doberman who looked just as terrified to see the Shiba. He coughed as the tension in the air was thick enough to cut.

"S-Sora I-I'm sorry for hurting you and...and sending you to the hospital. T-The things I did to you are unforgivable. You don't have to forgive me, but I wanted to...to apologize for the pain and humiliation you had to endure because of us." Jessie finished his apology looking down clenching his eyes shut waiting for a punch.

What he and the other jocks did not anticipate was the Shiba wrapping the Doberman into a very tight hug. Crying into his chest that he forgave him and thanked him for apologizing. I was a little annoyed that my pup was hugging another dog besides me. Jess looked really confused and awkwardly patted Sora's back. When the gate opened Sora finally stopped crying and smiled big and cheerfully at us. His uncle and our teacher Mr. Clawson walked out and guided Sora to the parking lot, while I stayed behind with Rex and Jessie. I smiled as I watched the little Shiba dance around his uncle in a fit of laughter. Turning around to face my friends, but pointing a finger at the Doberman.

"It's time to talk."
