CHAPTER THREE
ORIGIN OF STREAK II
20 January 2015
Two months and five days since the death of Streak.
To think there was a time when the cold made me shiver; when I ate scraps of food that I could glean from generous bystanders in the middle of freezing winters. To think I had a body that needed constant upkeep and care, causing me problems whenever it could. To think life was so much different from what it eventually became.
I lived under an overpass, staying close to barrels full of burning materials to keep warm. There were others who lived under the same overpass throughout the years, all of whom were much older than me. They weren't the kindest though, except for one guy named Bernie. A deer, he took care of me, kept me straight, away from crime and drugs, and protected me. We shared food and he offered me places by the fires. This is how it was for almost ten years.
My parents died when I was nine. Rather than let anyone take me in, I ran away. I didn't want to sleep in a warm, comfy bed, recalling all the haunting memories of when my mother and father tucked me in every night. Things had changed, and I saw no reason why they couldn't change further. I didn't want replacements.
A nine-year-old fox going on to live on the street for a full ten years would seem utterly inconceivable to some, but it happened to me. I would be lying if I said there wasn't any abuse, any individuals looking down on the poor. But I survived. I continued on as best I could, though I was never very social. Living on the street did that to me. Except for Bernie, I never really had anyone to talk to, so I never learned to socialise with others too well.
One particularly cold winter's night, at the age of nineteen, I was treading through the snow that covered a park, arms wrapped around myself to keep warm. I was wearing only a simple shirt, having recently lost my jacket. The only light around me was that which came from the moon above and the city lights around the park. I was trying to head to my "home" under the overpass where Bernie would be, but by the looks of things, I'd probably be frozen to death by the time I made it.
Then I heard something carried on the cold winds.
"Come to me, young fox," said the voice, soft and smooth, yet somehow still cold and unemotional.
The wind was howling, but I could tell the voice was genuine. I heard it loud and clear as if it were coming from somewhere in my own mind. I stopped to listen further.
"Come to me," I heard it say, somewhere in the distance somehow.
I did as the voice commanded and started forward again, keeping vigilant to whatever could be responsible.
"Come," it continued.
It was so cold. I wanted to keep going and hopefully find some warmth, but the voice calling me, beckoning me somewhere new was oddly alluring. It made me feel comfortable just listening to it. Wrapping my arms around myself, I tried to shake off the cold and persevere.
In a short while, I found myself in another area of the park with less snow where an inactive fountain sat in the centre of connecting concrete pathways. Lamplights illuminated my surroundings, making me feel slightly warmer, but the sight of my breath in the orange light still sent a chill down my spine. The park and even the streets beyond were completely devoid of any life save for me. In the freezing night, everyone must have gone home.
"Come to me, fox. Do not be afraid," said the voice again, so soft, soothing, and gentle.
"W-Where are you?" I asked, peering around as I relaxed, though still shivering.
"Here," said the voice. Then a blinding blue light appeared in front of me without warning, bathing the area in its intensity. I immediately raised a paw to shield my eyes, then suddenly finding I was no longer cold. "Step closer."
Content in the new warmth surrounding me, I cautiously moved towards the light, slowly lowering my paw as my eyes adjusted to the brightness. As I approached, I could make out a shape: a pair of glowing blue wings, sparkling with radiant energy.
"What... what are you?" I asked.
The shape began to circle me, flying around as if conducting some kind of inspection. I felt warmer still, my muscles relaxing and the numbness in my fingers vanishing.
"Yes, you have potential," said the voice, coming from the being circling me. "I sensed it, your capacity for all things good. With some training, you can become a great hero."
"What do you... what are you talking about?" I questioned, puzzled and confused.
"I have chosen you, boy, to be the conduit for my power in this universe," continued the voice. "Like your predecessor, you have great potential. Bond with me and I shall show you."
Curiosity overtook me, and I reached out a paw to touch the thing as it came around to my front once again.
"Join with me and embrace your destiny, young fox."
I was blinded once again as my paw came into contact with the being, but I couldn't sense that I had touched anything as if I had touched a ghost. A massive surge of power shot through me like a mighty, painless electric shock. But as quickly as it happened, it was over. As the light vanished, making the park go quiet once again, I found myself on my knees. For a moment, I thought that maybe it wasn't real and that I had just fainted.
"No, it was real," said the voice again, this time from somewhere else. "I am here with you. Within your mind."
I looked down and my eyes widened at the sight of my paws. My fur had turned white and all the grime that had stained them before was gone. I was naked, my clothes now burning embers on the concrete around me, allowing me to marvel at my transformed fur and now muscled yet slender physique.
"How...? What...?" I stuttered, at a loss for words and filled with adrenaline.
"Calm yourself, friend," the voice reassured. "We are together now. Through me, I am channelling to you powers from my world."
Somehow, the freezing winter air had no effect on me, including the icy concrete under my bare knees. I didn't even shiver! Instead, I was bursting with energy. I felt strong, powerful muscles beneath my fur, my legs feeling like they could run a million miles. Never before had I ever felt so good, so confident, and so empowered. Then, remembering my naked condition, I also felt a little embarrassed. I'd need to find something to keep me covered soon.
"Who... who are you?" I asked, so many questions going through my head.
"Your predecessor called me 'Falcon'."
"Wait, you're...!" I start, overcome with an incredible realisation.
"Yes, my child," said Falcon. "I am the power behind the late Streak. Now I extend this responsibility to you. If you accept."
A million thoughts went through my head, but only one stood out. I knew exactly what was going on, what was being asked of me, and what my answer was.
•••
"Your predecessor's fastest method of travel was leaping from rooftop to rooftop with the speed and strength I afforded him," Falcon was saying. "But first, you need to get to the roof."
We were in an alleyway, still well into the night. The snow had melted somewhat on the concrete, but it was still freezing cold. However, for the first time in my life, it didn't seem to bother me. In fact, I could barely tell it was cold at all, even though I was only wearing a few rags I could find to keep me at least decently modest, but it barely qualified as a loincloth. I also had no shoes.
"Okay..." I responded, nervous. "Here goes."
Looking up at one of the alley walls, I jumped up. I put a small amount of effort into that leap, being careful not to underestimate my powers. I immediately entered the air, five metres quickly filling the space between me and the ground. It was a moment of both fear and ecstatic joy. For one brief moment, it was almost like flying.
But the panic took over. As soon as I hit the wall, my paws and legs flailed with uncertainty. My mind was simply not designed for this, and before I knew it, inertia was no longer on my side. Instead of flying up, now I was falling down, pathetically grabbing at the wall before I landed with a splash in a puddle. A sharp burst of pain flew out from my lower back.
"OW!" I yelled, paralysed on the ground as I moved a paw back to nurse at the pain.
"Relax. I will take care of it. It is a minor injury," said Falcon.
He was right. Mere seconds later, the pain was gone, and I felt good as new. I stood up with renewed energy, but now I wasn't so sure of myself.
"No, you must be confident, Matthew," Falcon encouraged. "Trust your new body. Let your new instincts govern your movements."
I took a deep breath. I still wasn't so sure, but I told myself I'd do my best.
I tried again, launching off the ground with more power than any Olympian jumper. But this time I let my instincts take over. I loosened up my limbs as I flew through the air, and found myself suddenly grabbing the cold metal of the nearby fire escape with acrobatic perfection, latching on tightly without any difficulty.
I took a moment to breathe deeply, quickly noticing that I was now over two storeys up, and trying to keep myself from succumbing to vertigo. That wasn't an issue when I reminded myself of the ease with which I got here. In fact, I felt a surge of confidence, and this time I didn't even hesitate in pushing away from my perch on the fire escape. I flew over to the other side of the alleyway, hit the wall, and pushed off from that too.
I flew up higher, but instead of reaching for the fire escape with my paws, I hit the railing with my footpaws. Then I launched upward to the next floor, latching onto the railing of the next level.
Then I leapt up to the next, all without breaking a sweat or even trying, for that matter.
Six storeys up, and I was on the roof. I was breathing hard; not with exhaustion, but with adrenaline. Without a doubt, that was the most exhilarating moment of my life at the time. The best was yet to come. In the distance was Krystal Spire, the tallest building in the city. My target was on the top floor: Toby Taylor.
"The superhero tailor," said Falcon as I gazed upon the gleaming tower in the distance. "He designs superhero costumes for any aspiring superhero who can reach the top from the outside. The first Streak was somewhat timid about the prospect of climbing it, so he preferred to retain his handmade costume out of sentimentality."
"I can see why," I said, heart beating faster as I envisioned the journey ahead of me.
"But according to him, you will need to look the part. At least, if you are willing. I know that his costume provided maximum freedom of movement, while I sense that these baggy coverings of yours are somewhat restricting. He chose his costume based on a need for an 'acrobatic' function and aesthetic. I expect you will need something similar for your 'threads' as he called it."
I walked to the edge of the roof in the direction of the Spire. It wasn't an alleyway I'd have to leap over, but a road. I estimated it was about fifteen metres to the other side.
"Trust your body, Matthew. Know that you can do it. For your predecessor, this was a 'cakewalk', to speak in his terms once again."
I walked back to get some running distance. Swallowing and taking another deep breath, I ran to the ledge, onto the parapet, I once again launched myself into the air. This was the highlight of my journey, leaping through the night sky with strength and speed I could never imagine, the cold winds roaring in my ears the whole way.
Before I could reach the other side, I felt a tingly feeling under my tattered clothes. Looking down, I saw a blue glow under the fur over my chest.
Then I landed, but much further than expected. I was already on the far side of the next roof already, landing nimbly and without question, as if I had done this a thousand times before.
"What was that?!" I asked out loud.
"My aura. It burns inside you, and when moving fast enough, it leaves a trail of my energy in your wake."
I put my paws on my head, in awe of what I had just accomplished. But my heart was racing, and every limb was begging for more.
I was happy to oblige. Now grinning with gleeful satisfaction, a short run took me to the edge of the roof, and a little leap sent me flying over the narrow gap above an alleyway.
After landing with a nimble roll, purely by instinct, I didn't even bother with another running start before leaping over the next alleyway.
After that, it was another long jump over a road. But as much as I was enjoying this, I had questions.
"Who are you, Falcon? And who was the last Streak?" I asked in my head as I ran and jumped across the city.
"I originate from another dimension beyond your comprehension, inhabited by energy beings like myself. I travelled here to empower one I sensed to be capable of great untapped goodness with my power. The one with the most potential was a young wolf attending university. He was not too bright, but he was indeed a good-hearted soul. Our journeys had many complications, and we certainly had our bad days, with many close calls. Unfortunately, two criminals named Deception and Dirtbag combined their powers to end his life."
That made me anxious. I realised that I couldn't confine myself to indulging in the freedom given to me by my new powers. I'd actually have to fight people and save the lives of real living beings. That was a huge responsibility, but if this is what being a superhero felt like in between, then there were no complaints. At least not yet. There was the very real possibility of dying out there.
"Fear not," said Falcon, knowing exactly what I was thinking. Literally. "Those villains discovered his secret identity and took advantage of his loved ones in order to lure him into a trap. That clearly will not be such a problem for you, considering you have much fewer relationships to concern yourself with."
"Gee, thanks..." I remarked.
To be fair though, Bernie was the best friend I could ever ask for. Speaking of which, I couldn't wait to show him the new me. But first, I wasn't done being reborn yet.
Then I was only one jump away from the Spire, stopping to look up.
"Are you sure about this?" I asked, standing on top of a four-storey building. "It looks... dangerous."
In front of me was perhaps the tallest luxury apartment building I had ever seen. I was not looking forward to the climb.
"Your body is strong enough to climb the tower with sufficient ease," said Falcon. "You need merely to grab onto something to leap up from."
I took a deep breath, soon followed by another as I tried to muster even more courage. Soon, with lungs full of air and my chest puffed up for the most thrilling leg of my journey, I closed my eyes for a brief moment before I launched forward and upward. A few seconds later, I touched the glass windows before instinctively propelling myself upwards, leaping up each storey to grab hold of the building's extremities, higher and higher.
As I leapt, wind blasting past the fur of my face, I felt almost like I was running, followed by the beam of blue energy in my wake. I must have looked like... like a blue streak running up the building. A corona comet falling upwards.
Barely a minute later, high above the glistening city skyline, I finally arrived at the top. Or rather, I kept going, launched into the air above before I came falling down onto the terrace of Toby's penthouse. Instinctively, and with great surprise, I landed with all the finesse and expertise of a professional acrobat, as usual. I had to shake my head to convince myself that this was all real, that I had just done that, and that I wasn't dreaming.
"Finally!" came a very Texan-sounding voice. "I thought you tights had just started makin' yer own costumes or somethin'!"
Standing up, blushing slightly after my somewhat over-dramatic landing, I saw a male Dalmatian lying on a lawn chair, looking up at the stars, his paws relaxed behind his head. He had dressed pretty averagely and not at all what I'd expect from someone who made superhero costumes. I was wondering why he was outside like this on a cold winter evening, until I noticed the steam rising up out of the nearby heated pool.
"Well? What are yer waitin' for?" he asked, setting his drink down on the little table beside him and standing up, heading indoors. "Come on in, tights! Considering that 'outfit' is barely holding together, I'm guessing you're here for some new threads, right?"
I followed him inside, now warmed in the light of the very modern room surrounding me. Everywhere were glass cases of many different kinds of amazing costumes, and what looked like a forge through a door to another room! But there were also more lively elements, such as couches, a television, a kitchen, a bedroom off through one door, and even a dining table.
"So, what'll it be?" he asked, happily leaning against a table.
"You mean... what kind of costume I want?" I asked, feeling a sense of exhilaration and excitement at the thought that I could provide my specifications. "Don't you want to know who I am?"
He shook his head. "I'm a people person. I see a kid with obvious superpowers get up here, take one look in his eyes, and I know who's gettin' themselves some fancy new duds!"
I decided I liked this guy.
"Well, you should know, I'm Streak's successor."
That took his interest.
"Oh? Good for you, kid! But... what happened to the other guy?"
"He... He died," I responded at last, solemnly.
"Oh..." he said, now solemn too.
"I'm sorry," I said, handing him my condolences.
"It's okay. I didn't know him. A shame, really. I always wanted to have a go at redesigning his costume." Then he turned optimistic again. "But this isn't about me. Tonight's all about your lucky tail! So, what'll it be?"
"Again, I suggest something similar to your predecessor's costume," I heard Falcon say. "Something built for an acrobat with maximum freedom of movement in mind. He chose to forego arm and legs coverings, and the added flexibility did him good."
I had to think about this hard. I wanted something I could stick with. Something I wouldn't ever want to be replaced. Then a thought came to me. "I want the same costume the first Streak had!" I said proudly.
"Ah! Tight blue boots and leotard?" he asked, no longer leaning against the table. "You sure?"
"Yes. I'd like to honour his memory that way."
He paused to think. I was worried he'd be disappointed, hoping for something more challenging, but judging from his expression, he seemed more pleased with my choice. I could tell he admired my decision.
"Then let's get right to it!"
He had me strip down, much to my embarrassment, but he assured me it was nothing he hadn't seen before, considering how many other superheroes he's had to tailor. After tearing off my dangerously skimpy rags, I was left nude in front of him, though he seemed more impressed by my appearance rather than amused. For the next five minutes, he took measurements over almost every inch of my fur, including my nether regions, which was admittedly somewhat uncomfortable. I let out a small yelp in surprise, but it only took a moment, thankfully. Though I couldn't help noticing that I felt more sensitive than usual.
"I should probably have mentioned," began Falcon. "Your enhanced senses have increased your physical sensitivity." That would have been nice to know in advance.
"Alright, stay 'ere," he said, finishing his measurements and scurrying off to another room. "Take a load off and help yourself to my collection!"
Still totally naked, I did as he suggested, moving to analyse the costumes in the rows of display cases.
"Admirable nobility, boy," said Falcon. "Despite having the opportunity for any costume you could want, you chose to retain the same uniform as your predecessor, despite its simplicity."
"It's the least I can do," I responded, somewhat pleased with myself.
I recognised a few costumes, including the white and silver suit worn by Steelbadger, one of my childhood heroes. Another costume, royal blue with a yellow and red flame pattern down the front of the torso, belonged to Race, the speedster rabbit. There were other familiar costumes too, but I didn't recognise most of them. I let myself marvel at the various elegant and impressive styles. They came in different shapes and sizes, most of them bearing the classic underwear-on-the-outside design. For the female costumes, there were a lot of uncovered legs with skimpy leotards and bikinis. But all of the costumes were made from tight materials that outlined the varying physiques of the mannequins wearing them, made from various textures both simple and detailed.
"Wow..." I murmured to myself as I admiring the majestic designs. I could ogle these diverse uniforms all day, but I wasn't sure whether Toby had made the unfamiliar costumes for sport, or if he tailored for superheroes out of town too.
I lingered around for roughly ten minutes as I examined all the outfits in detail. Though I wasn't cold, I wrapped my arms around myself anyway, having never felt more exposed, and I had definitely never been naked around anyone else since my mother bathed me.
Then Toby returned from the other room, pushing along a white mannequin tailored in what would soon be my only article of clothing for a long time.
"It's... amazing!" I said, awestruck at how shiny and new the blue leotard looked, tightly clad around the mannequin's torso. It glistened with newness, beckoning me to put it on. I felt tingles all over and shivered with anticipation, completely forgetting to keep myself covered. My arms instead hung idly as I gazed at the costume.
"The collar is especially elastic, so you can slip in through there," Toby began. "It's mostly just regular lycra, hence why I made it so quickly. It should perfectly show off the main details of your physique though. The boots are basically socks with soles. All in all, it's an acrobat's uniform!"
Beneath the mannequin were several pairs of the same leotard and boots, neatly folded already. He scooped up a pair and handed them to me.
"A bit revealing for a guy's costume, but it definitely works with the white fur!" he said, a grin that exemplified how proud he was to be handing me my costume, simple as it was. Then he gestured to a room with a sign above the curtain-covered doorway reading 'changing room'. "I'll leave you to get suited up, huh, tights?"
Carrying the soft and smooth blue fabric in my arms, I hurried off, filled with excitement. Closing the curtain behind me, I found myself facing wall-covering mirrors all around me, wooden benches on either side of the room. I couldn't help but admire my new powerfully-built body in the reflection, taking the opportunity to see my glistening new white fur in all its glory.
After laying the two boots on a bench, I put the leotard below me, widened the neck hole, and slipped a leg into the first leg hole, then the other, heartbeat racing. Slowly and sensually, enjoying this moment, I pulled the soft garment up my forelegs, then my thighs, before the thin strip of fabric forming the seat of the leotard was pulled over my nethers, fitting snugly into place perfectly and coaxing a soft whimper from me, enjoying how the fabric felt as the elastic bands tightened neatly around my thighs. I then continued to pull it up my body, feeling the fabric slide over my fur as I stretched it up onto my shoulders, letting the collar close in around the base of my neck. I then sat down on a bench and pulled on the boots.
All done! I stood up and looked myself in the mirror, only to emit a quiet but startled yelp. Was that really me? That strong and athletic white-furred fox clad in shining blue? How could this have been the lonely, poverty-stricken red-furred fox I used to be? I also noticed my eyes had turned a deep blue, almost seeming to glow with their piercing intensity! After a few minutes of simply staring, I soon settled into the fact, and my heartbeat raced even faster. I had been reborn! Better and stronger than I could have ever imagined, I could finally look at myself without pity, but instead with pride and joy.
"This is you now, my friend," said Falcon. "Look at yourself and know that this responsibility and honour now lies in your paws."
I smiled. A lot. It felt good, and I couldn't help but pose, assuming different positions to show off to myself how well I looked. I flexed, put a boot up on a bench, put my paws on my hips, and took just about every other heroic or powerful pose you could think of. I even turned to look at my back, blushing a little at the roughly 30% of coverage it gave me on my rump. Almost thirty minutes after entering the changing room, I was still totally enamoured with the way I looked. I honestly had trouble believing that this was still me.
"Yes, you look very good," said Falcon, making me jump a little. "Perhaps you should leave now?"
"Hang on, Falcon," I responded. "I'm almost d--"
"Done?" interrupted Toby, and that really made me jump, very nearly hitting my head on the ceiling. His head was peering through the curtain with a look of eagerness on his face. "Come on then!"
Composing myself and putting a paw on my thudding chest, I finally exited the room.
"Now, if that isn't a sight for sore eyes!" said Toby as I entered the larger room, walking with my chin up, shoulders back and standing straighter than ever. "If I didn't know better I'd say I'd just seen a ghost! You sure do look like superhero material to me, tights!"
Lifting a paw to rub the back of my neck, I couldn't help but look away and blush. I was even overcome by the urge to cover myself. I felt so embarrassed, but I still felt better than ever. The dumb smile on my muzzle said as much.
"Thanks..."
"Now, tell me. How does it feel?"
"Oh. Well, I like the way the fabric feels against my fur," I said, rubbing a paw down the fabric over my torso. "I don't remember the last time I wore something so soft and smooth. It's comfortable. Although..." I started pulling slightly at the fabric on my backside which was threatening to ride up slightly. "I've... never worn so little before..."
Indeed, it was revealing, and I never felt the urge to cover up more than then. Looking down, I felt somewhat exposed, being in front of another guy with my unmentionables barely left to the imagination, creating a smooth bulge in my costume. I couldn't deny though, something felt good about it. It made me feel liberated, arms and legs bare like this.
"Don't worry, kid," he said with a chuckle, placing a paw on my shoulder. "You'll grow into it. Now raise yer arms!"
I complied. He quickly began circling me as I stood in place, my arms raised. I heard him mutter to himself under his breath, but I couldn't make it out despite my enhanced senses. He would occasionally grab me here and there and move me slightly to see how the costume stretched with my body and how it looked in different poses. I then felt him straighten out the bands of the high-cut leg holes, followed by him sliding his fingers into them to pull the fabric over my crotch away, momentarily exposing my privates to the open air once again. Then he let go, allowing the fabric to lightly snap back into place and drawing another surprised yelp from me. Although his expression spoke of focus rather than sly cheek, I still felt red all over. Then he moved around behind me and did the same with the fabric over my rear.
He nodded in satisfaction with his adjustments to my costume complete. Then his expression once again became laidback and relaxed, briefly slapping my backside through the fabric, drawing a slightly startled whimper from me. I was glad that was over, but I did feel properly straightened out.
"Well?! Go for a run! Jump up and down! See how well it does!" he encouraged, turning up in front of me and gesturing with his arms and paws for me to do something.
I started in a jog in a circular pattern around the room. I quickly got used to the feel of the sturdy soles beneath my footpaws, and I liked the way the soft fabric felt on my forelegs. It really did feel like wearing socks with soles. I tried jumping slightly, admiring the ease in which I could move. The feeling of my bare arms and legs made me feel so free, and I felt a surge of energy rushing through me once more, eager to be put to good use as my muscles yearned for action, and my new body yelling at me to take it for a spin.
Then I hit my head on the ceiling, making a sizeable dent.
"Whoa, don't get too excited, tights!" said Toby, rushing over to help me up.
I was on my backside, my right paw rubbing my head when he took my left paw and yanked me back onto my footpaws.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Actually, I feel pretty good!" I responded, realising the ache in my head had already gone. "Hah! This is great!"
"Take it easy there, kid! Looks to me like you gotta take this slow!"
"He is correct," said Falcon. "You are still unfamiliar with your newfound strength. If you wish to test your abilities, then I suggest you do so elsewhere."
"I guess I'll get going. Thank you so much for the costume, Toby!" I said.
"Don't mention it, kid! Feel free to come back whenever you need repairs. I'll have some spares waitin'!"
"Will do!"
"Heh, but one way or another, the gals are gonna be hootin' for you!"
"Er... Yeah. Great," I said, not too enthusiastically.
I had to admit, I wasn't too fond of the idea of anyone swooning over me, but I guessed it just came with the territory.
"One last thing. If you ever want an upgrade or just a totally new costume, all yer gotta do is come a-callin'!"
"Thanks, Toby. This... is probably the best gift I've ever been given," I said, looking down at myself once again. "I won't forget this!"
"Anytime, tights!"
Stepping out onto the roof and onto the terrace, a cool breeze hit my bare arms and legs, sending tingles of excitement up my spine and making my fur stand on end. Walking around the covered pool towards the parapets, I felt the adrenaline surging through me. As the wind howled in my ears, I felt all fear wash away. I felt ready to embrace my new identity, reborn as a shining symbol of goodness in this city. The cool air against the thin material of my leotard made me feel almost naked, but that only made me feel more like I could do anything. Like I had been freed from the bonds that had held me my entire life.
I climbed onto the parapet, perching myself on the edge of the roof, suddenly feeling an urge to leap off.
"You are not invulnerable. Such a fall would kill you," said Falcon.
"So... how do I get down?" I thought.
"You know how. Let your instincts guide you."
Then I felt even more excited, and I was determined to unleash my full capabilities now that I was suited up. With a little grin, I stood up from my crouched perch, put my legs together, stretched my arms wide, and fell forward. My belly filled with ticklish tingles as I began to fall, the roaring wind in my ears once again as the ground rapidly approached. I relaxed every muscle and time seemed to slow down. I felt like I was dreaming, and for a moment I panicked, afraid that none of this was happening.
After one of the most amazing experiences of my life, I pushed off, sending me flying forwards. Then I gently hit the side of the building opposite, using it to slow my descent as I slid down the glass windows. I then pushed off again, touching the side of the Spire. Then I leapt off once more to grab onto the opposite building again, this time coming to a complete stop as I latched onto the frame of a window. Inside was a feline child, awestruck as she looked up at me. Giving her a heroic smile and a wave, I leapt upward, propelling myself up each storey off the windowsills, before finally arriving on the roof of the smaller building.
I didn't know what I was feeling, but it felt good. I felt strong, energised, athletic, and powerful. Grinning with satisfaction, I began to run away from Toby's building, leaping off the rooftop and onto another. With my heightened senses, I could hear people yelling on the streets below, no doubt elicited by the sight of the familiar blue light above.
"Look! Is that Streak?!"
"Look at that!"
"Is he back?!"
"WOOOHOOO!"
"Go get 'em, man!"
"He's back!"
"Yeah!"
"Cool!"
"Look, mommy! Superhero!"
Music to my ears! They all sounded so happy and amazed! I immediately knew I was going to enjoy my new life - the life of a superhero - and I wasn't gonna waste it.
•••
"You will tire yourself out," said Falcon after about two hours of running and jumping across the city's many rooftops. Realising I was finally starting to pant, I decided to come to a stop, landing on top of a warehouse by the dock. Taking a moment to catch my breath, I looked out at the bay and the waters that glistened in the winter moonlight.
"This is... incredible!" I said, still soaked in all that adrenaline, yet somehow not a single drop of sweat. My heart was thudding, but more with prolonged excitement than exhaustion. I felt like I could go for another thirty minutes before needing to stop.
"You have adapted to your enhanced physiology very well, boy," continued Falcon, still stoic and unemotional.
"You know, it's okay to call me 'Streak'."
"But now you must begin your training," he went on, clearly ignoring me. Something told me he found the title embarrassing. "I expect we must take at least a week of constant practice before you are qualified to set forth as a superhero."
"A week?!" I asked, dumbfounded. A mistake at the time, I assumed that I was already fully prepared. I didn't realise how overeager I was.
"A week. Unless you want to--"
Before Falcon could finish, we both noticed a van drive up beside the building I stood upon.
Stepping out of the van was a black and white Bull Terrier, wearing only jeans and a sleeveless jacket with a wide open front, revealing the bulking muscles of his torso. He looked like a pretty brutish guy!
"Those dumb cops lost us ages ago. Don't worry," he was saying to his colleague, a male Chilean fox terrier in black.
"Let's just get this stuff to the guys and ditch the van," the terrier responded.
"Quit worryin'. There's no one around this district at night," responded the brute.
The two carried off the crates into the building.
"Those people down there are acting a lot like a bunch of crooks!" I said, quietly.
"Yes. I suggest you notify the police immediately," said Falcon.
"I can't endanger their lives!"
"Their job is the same as yours, and under the circumstances - despite not having any powers - they are more experienced than you."
"More experienced?! But I'm the superhero!"
"I still need to train you. You have much to learn, including about your new body. Many villains have taken advantage of Streak's physical sensitivity in the past."
I sighed, frustrated, but I knew what I was going to do. People probably depended on me, and I needed to act. I just ran across the roof to climb into a vent, trying to stay quiet as I descended into the building. Admittedly, it was difficult to slither through the narrow metal passageways without making a lot of noise.
"We were startin' ta get worried!" said a male voice from below as I descended further into the warehouse. "You got the stuff?"
I peered through a grate in the vent. The brute and his colleague were speaking to three others.
"There are too many. You have no combat experience yet," said Falcon, but I ignored him.
Suddenly I heard a loud creak, then the metal grating gave way and I fell from above, crashing through the crate the brute was handing over and hitting the ground with a thud. I was surrounded by large splinters of wood, plastic bottles of some clear liquid, and five very startled and then very angry looking gangsters.
"Tsk-tsk. What do we have here?" said the brute, quickly reaching to grip the chest of my leotard before suddenly throwing a huge punch at my head. The force of the impact sent me into a daze. My vision spinning, I was unable to focus on the faces of the thugs converging on me. "This kid thinks he's Streak!"
"Looks like we got ourselves a little interloper, guys!" said another gangster. "Hit 'em with a dosage!"
The next thing I knew, someone put a paw on my forehead and pushed my head back forcefully, pulling me backwards and onto my knees. This was immediately followed by one of the thugs shoving the nozzle of an open bottle of liquid into my mouth. Immediately the bitter taste filled my throat before I slapped the bottle away, my fur and costume slick with the spilt moisture as it poured all over the place. Then I fell back on all fours as I choked it up.
After a few seconds of clearing my throat, the criminals suspiciously keeping their distance, I tried standing, but my legs wouldn't budge. All the strength faded from my muscles and my thoughts went hazy. I felt like I should be panicking, but my heart remained slow and steady.
"Awww! What's the matter, superhero?" said a thug looking down at me, bending forward with paws on his knees. He was the same one who forced the bottle into my throat. "Not so tough anymore, huh? It's a muscle relaxant! Designed especially to take down pesky little heroes like you!"
The huge terrier behind me pulled me to my footpaws, pulling my back close against his brutish chest. He held my dazed body firmly, drawing a chuckle from the other gangsters as they surrounded me. My paws went to his massive arms holding me against him, trying to pull them off, but any semblance of strength I had was gone.
"What a sexy little superhero!" he said, as his large right paw began to trail across my chest, stomach, abdomen, then down to where his index finger began rubbing the bulge in my leotard, instantly drawing a soft moan from me, followed by a round of chuckles from his cohorts. "Oooh, so sensitive! I think he likes it, guys!"
Then he wrapped his right arm around my throat, and I brought my paws up to try and pull his arm away, but to no avail. Meanwhile, his left paw closed around my lycra-wrapped bulge, drawing whimpers from me as he began to rub rapidly. My newly sensitive body betrayed me, and I instantly felt my nether organ swelling with blood in response. The bulky bicep around my neck tightened, choking me as the lack of oxygen darkened my vision, and all the while I gently humped my hips instinctively while he masturbated me through my skimpy costume. My restrained and drug-addled body could barely move in his mammoth grip.
"Shhhhh, don't struggle..." he said softly, somehow arousing me further. "Now cum for yer daddies!"
I felt a growing pressure in my nethers, like a volcano building to an eruption. I wanted to release that pressure so much! Some kind of wetness found its way into my leotard, staining the fabric in his large grip. A powerful climax approached me until, finally, release came. In a massive surge of pleasure firing up from between my legs, my juices streamed into my costume, soaking the fabric in his large paw with my warm cream as the eruption washed over every nerve in my body, drawing only loud gurgles from me as the brute continued to choke me out. The other gangsters laughed furiously as I released my milk into my costume.
"Shh-shhhh..." he continued as the pleasure went on and on. "Sweet dreams, super-loser..."
Just as I began to feel the first hints of my heavenly afterglow, his arm tightened further around my throat and blackness enveloped my vision, the ocean of pleasure being replaced with sweet sleep.

When I came to, my mind was fuzzy. I didn't remember what had happened until I tried to move and found my arms and legs were unable to oblige. Opening my lazy eyes, I started to panic as I realised I was restrained to a table on my back by some kind of metallic cables, row upon row of them against my ankles and wrists, keeping me firmly secured with my legs slightly spread and my arms above me. I struggled against them as best I could, writhing around as I let out high-pitched whimpers of fear, not even caring for how undignified I seemed, though fully aware of how vulnerable and exposed I felt. My heart racing, a sense of claustrophobia fell over me when I realised several rows of metallic cables were also tied over my abdomen, eliciting even further struggles as I became desperate for escape.
"Man, you're pathetic!" came a familiar voice. "I mean, you're like a total weakling!"
Turning my head, I saw it was the brute, his arms crossed, now completely shirtless. Moving over to me, he placed his large paw on my abdomen just beneath the cables.
"But hey, that just means more fun for us!" he said, followed by chuckles from around. "Don't worry about tryin' to escape. Not only is the liquid still in your system, but those cables are titanium! Thought they might come in handy with nosy super-losers like you!"
"I wanna do him so bad!" said another voice.
"Look at this runt! I bet I could make him blow his load so hard!" said another.
"Hey, save some for the rest of us!"
"I'm gonna make him scream my name..."
"Let's not be TOO rough, okay? After all, we don't wanna break 'em! Or do we...?"
"I gotta give it to ya though, you came buckets!" said another thug, grinning at Streak. "Let's see how much more we can get outta you..."
Tears began to well up in my eyes but suddenly flowed less as the brute caressed my lower abdomen, slowly and softly going lower until his massive paw brushed my now-dry bulge, softly closing his paw around it, drawing a long moan from me.
"Heh, not to worry, kid. We had Davis lick up the mess ya made!" chuckled the brute, squeezing his paw tighter until my next moan turned into a wince of pain. "We won't hurt ya too much. After all, you're a pretty hot little thing, aren't ya? That adorable body, that sexy costume, and that cute little butt of yours are ours now!"
His squeezing weakened, but I was now rock hard in his grip as he stroked my member through the blue fabric of my revealing costume.
"Y'know what?" he said, bringing his face down in front of mine, almost obscuring my vision as he continued to massage my arousal. "You're gonna be our new toy for a while!"
Despite my moaning, my tears only continued to swell. Staring me down as he molested me through my costume, I knew this was simply his way of dominating me, and it was working. My futile struggles coming to a halt, I could do nothing but softly gyrate my hips in his grip, his eyes locked with mine as he continued to grin down at me. Soon I felt a familiar pressure building between my legs once again, and the sensation of something wet beginning to sandwich between the soft blue fabric and my aching member.
"Don't worry. We'll keep you well fed with plenty of daddy juice!"
"We'll also keep ya drugged up on the formula too. Hourly doses!" said another thug.
"F-Falcon, help me!" I thought. "What do I do?!"
"I am afraid I can do nothing," responded Falcon. "You are still far from your full potential. You are not qualified for this situation. All you can do now is endure and hope, my friend."
As he continued staring me down, I closed my eyes, now completely forgetting my excitement at being a superhero. At that moment, I felt like I would have traded everything in my new life just to be free from these thugs. Falcon was definitely right though, I was totally inexperienced. I had no plan in mind and I let my eagerness get the better of me. Now I felt I would be regretting my mistake for the rest of what would likely be my very short life.
"Yeah... Yeah..." chanted the brute, grinning and slowly nodding as he coaxed more and more moans from me, my hips gyrating faster and faster. "Gonna make ya cum, kid!"
And I did. Closing my eyes, my second orgasm was just as intense as the first, building up and exploding like a volcano, my balls emptying my fox cream into my costume and staining the fabric once again as the brute continued to masturbate me. He coaxed more and more of my juices from my churning balls, prolonging the incredible, almost painful experience. As the other thugs around us cheered and goaded us on, I only moaned loudly in blissful ecstasy, almost to the point that I didn't regret anymore, but it was not enough to block out the humiliation I was feeling at soiling myself for these thugs like this. I felt so broken, ashamed and defeated. I considered that perhaps I should just submit to them fully, knowing this humiliating would be an irreversible mark on my memory that I might as well embrace.
"That's only the first of many, kid!" said the brute, his face still right in front of mine, my mind hazy from the orgasm as I found it difficult to put thoughts together. "We're gonna milk ya like a cow; drain these balls of yours like udders! After all, you're Streak, right? Everyone in the underworld knows that cumming is what you do best!" he continued as he jostled around my bulge, shaking around the vast quantities of cum in the blue fabric and spreading it around, my orgasm finally coming to an end as I softened within my leotard. He chuckled maliciously.
"Then, after we've had our fun for a month or two, we're gonna sell ya!" said another thug behind him, a voice full of greed. "A little fox twink like yourself is probably gonna make us some nice shiny coin! Plus, it's pretty well known that Streak has a penchant for... being used. You're sure to get some good bids!"
"Falcon, please don't let them!" I pleaded in my head, terrified that I was going to spend the rest of my life in some rich guy's bedchamber. "We're gonna get out of here, right?!"
"I... Yes, boy. We will," said Falcon after a moment of hesitation that left me feeling unconvinced. "I promise."
Even in the warm haze of my afterglow, I could suddenly hear the sound of crashing glass. Slowly forcing my weak eyelids open, the brute had moved his face away from mine, and I became aware of an aqua-coloured figure moving rapidly among the thugs. As my eyes adjusted, I realised it was an aqua-scaled female lizard clad in nothing but the skimpiest of gold metal bikinis and matching bra. She held what looked like a katana and was slicing the blade against the thugs, inflicting only small cuts, yet somehow the criminals fell to the ground unconscious.
In a few moments, her work was done, surrounded by the sleeping gangsters. I started to smile as she approached, but then my heart sank at her cold stare as she raised her sword, and then rapidly brought it down upon me. Luckily for me, she sliced through each of the metal cables holding me to the table, neatly cutting them to pieces. Grunting with effort, I slowly lifted myself up by my elbows, body still weak from the drugs as I rubbed my sore wrists.
"Th-thanks..." I said, blushing as I realised my leotard was still soaked with my fluids.
She didn't say anything, simply turned and casually walked towards the exit, moving with such fluid grace. Then she stopped and turned her head.
"I saw you," she said, her accent sounding South African. "I realised you were new. I knew I would have to save you from your own inexperience."
I was at a loss for words. She was absolutely right, and I knew it full well. A sense of great shame overwhelmed me once again, making me feel like a small child in the body of a great hero. I immediately felt like I didn't belong in this costume, deprived of all the excitement and positivity that had held me so high earlier. Like a child trying on his father's clothes, my costume felt like it was too big.
"I was watching the whole thing," she continued. "I wanted to make sure you learned your lesson before stepping in. You cried like a baby; a weakling with no control over his own emotions, and you wet yourself like an infant as well. I am not impressed. Do yourself some good and do not bother trying to do the work of heroes, at least not until you know how."
She continued walking, leaving me alone and surrounded by all the unconscious thugs.
"I expect you to obey me in the future when I warn you again," said Falcon. "I hope this has been a lesson to you. You were very lucky today."
Falcon was right. Sighing, I noticed a phone on a nearby wall, and I knew what I had to do. I picked it up and put in "911".
I was off to a bad start.
