Either way, thanks, your attention has made my day many times.
Anyways, I'm kind of busy with a bigger project, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to continue this story much further, but here's chapter one of part two... or a stand alone story... who knows!
Summary:
A thieving little bird pushes a lawman to his limit, and he decides to take advantage of her
Warnings...
Someone gets raped...
It gets pretty rough...
Mixed usage of "é" and "e" as name ending vowel sounds that should be pronounced the same.
It was a normal day in Asliole. The sun was shining, the desert air was hot, the mariachi were playing their dead rustling tunes, and someone was getting their pockets picked. If Maria could help it, it wouldn't just be some one, it would be some many. Maria took her time, there was no rush. As the crowd gathered for whatever musician it was this week, she crept along with all the grace of someone trying to see past the crowd. Or at least, that was the act she was giving off. Standing shorter than the average man's waist made such a ploy viable, and with such a large crowd, no one would notice a light touch on their belt. She managed to get seven wallets before anyone paid her mind.
Just as she was satisfied with her job, she forced the creeping grin from her beak and mimicked the sulk one might have in not being able to enjoy the show. She made it two steps away before being swept up in the arms of an Orc. She panicked, the man was no less than six times her size, green, muscular, shirtless, and wearing a back leather mask marked with the Burning Heart of Phunee upon his forehead. She'd never risk such a mark, but maybe he had divined what she was doing. She refrained from struggling, least the jangle of coin alert her most recent mark of his loss, and fear made keeping utterly still all too easy.
The Orc then sat her upon his sweaty shoulder and let her watch the concert perched above the crowd. The man was so unconcerned with her opinion of him, and acted like it was expected of him to do something like that. Although the emblem of Phunee did make her nervous, she enjoyed the opportunity to finally see who it was everyone was so up about.
To Maria's surprise, the band was a single musician, or rather it was a single sapient musician. The guitarist was a short, even by her standards, golden scaled lizard standing on its hind legs and weaving magic into his music. The spell in question seemed to be one of summoning, as he had a full band of ghostly instruments played by unseen hands and phantasmal breath. The music was good, she'd admit, but Maria wasn't exactly an expert on music or magic, so mostly she just loved it's distracting properties.
Between songs, the musician, apparently named Strum-Strum, took a short break to keep himself hydrated. The Orc Maria was perched upon grinned at her, and let her down.
"Big adventure planned," the Orc spoke as though he was building up to an offer, "Me and Strum gonna' take on Ole' Sunhaven. Looking for extra hands."
Maria quirked a brow up at the Orc, "Okay?"
"Thought you might be interested," the Orc didn't waste much time with that.
Maria smiled at the guy, "Sorry, not my bag."
The masked man shrugged and continued to enjoy the show as Maria sauntered off. She managed to feint disinterest quickly enough that her eye contact with a nearby panicking man was left without comment.
She found herself at the old church on the hill. It wasn't a large place, just a quiet haven for the thoughtful. Maria donned her robes and began her day job of keeping the place clean. The old adobe building was fashioned with wooden doors and open air windows, so it was always time for a good dusting. The summer heat was a little much for her robes, but with nothing but feathers under them, she'd be fine. It wasn't like Mother Marigold wore anything under her robes.
She was there too, the Priestess of the little church on the hill. Mother Marigold was famous, but managed to keep a quiet life. That was part of the reason Maria respected her so much. That and she was technically the most powerful magic user in the area, a retired adventurer who had managed to survive a direct conflict with a god, and all in all the kindest person she had ever met.
As soon as Maria had finished her dusting, Marigold smiled at her. It was sort of alarming that she had learned to read the priestess's facial expressions considering she was naught more than a skeleton, but that was another matter. "I thank you for your diligence," she spoke in her warm yet otherworldly voice, "I think I may be having a number of guests later. They may be interested in speaking with you."
Maria's eyes widened for the briefest moment. Had someone gotten suspicious of her? Since she failed to hide her surprise, she decided to mask it, "Divination?"
"Word of mouth," Marigold sighed.
The only magic the priestess used anymore was her healing touch. Being undead, she learned to channel both the positive and negative energies needed to heal whomever came to her. In her twilight, she had shed not only her combat magicks, but also those that made day to day living easier. It was a strange decision, but Maria couldn't fault her for it… even if she did want to see her do it.
"In the meanwhile," Marigold continued, "I'll be headed to town. Someone donated a lot of money, and the orphanage needs it more than we do."
Maria held her breath as the priestess walked out. She then loosened her collar and let her robes breath a little. Her kleptomaniac thrill left her knees shaking and she had to sit down.
"Gods it feels so good to be so good," she told herself.
"Oh, and what are you so good at?" The masculine voice of Lawman José Oré boomed through the old church.
Maria peered over the back of the pew. He was the same portly human, poorly shaven except for a well trimmed mustache. He stepped in still wearing his large sombrero. The weapon on his belt was that new thing all the adventurers were on about.
"Look at this place," Maria jeered, "It's cleaner than your fancy suit."
José managed to take that as a compliment, "My little crow, flattery won't get you out of trouble this time."
Maria's eyes narrowed, but she couldn't fall victim to such a basic jab, "Something amiss in town? I guess whatever it is must be important."
"Oh?" José quirked an brow, "And why is that?"
"It got you off your ass, didn't it?"
José face grew red, "I know it was you!"
"You know what was me?" Maria returned.
"Don't play dumb!" José had a bulging vein in his forehead, "Where's the money?"
"What money?" Maria began but before he could respond she added, "You know what, I don't care. Let's skip to the part where you cuff me and take me back to the pokey."
This gave José some pause. They had been through this exchange a dozen or more times before. Even though he was right about her, his reason really did whittle down to racism. They'd search through her meager possessions and find nothing, then José's superior would slap him on the wrist and let Maria go.
Maria tied her collar back up, patted off her robes and presented her wrists to the man, "We doing this?"
José retrieved his cuffs and strapped them on her with a grumble. He began to lead her out the front door, but a nagging thought stopped him.
"If you'd be so inclined," a sly grin creeped across José's face, "I think I'd like to conduct the search myself."
Maria tried not to let emotion touch her words, which was nearly impossible, "I'd rather have an impartial-"
"Resisting arrest?" José taunted.
Maria sighed and played along.
All things considered, Maria didn't have much stuff for the Lawman to toss about. It would be annoying to have to clean up the mess he was making, but after her three changes of clothes, bed linens, and her small clothes had been thrown on the floor, he had run out of ammunition to humiliate her with. Except for the half bottle of wine she kept in her cupboard. José opened the bottle and took a sample, just to see how she'd react, when Maria did not, he huffed put the bottle back.
"Not going to talk?" He mused.
Maria feigned boredom.
José took a long look at the now empty cupboard, and then at the stripped bed, "Obviously you're hiding it elsewhere."
Maria sighed.
José tried the guest cupboards, but found them all empty but for spare warm garments in a few. He tossed them all onto the floor systematically, and stripped the guest beds with vigor. He stomped over to the door to Marigold's room, read the sign and spat. He then looked at the next door, which once had a label but it was scratched out.
José tried to open it, but found he couldn't actually grip the doorknob. He tried banging on the door, but found his fist slid past it. He even attempted to kick it, but fell on his ass as his foot slid wide. It was a curse Marigold had placed on the door in her last few days weaving real magic. Maria had tried everything to get that door open, but never could, it was rather cathartic to see someone else struggle with it. So Maria made a horrible mistake, she laughed.
José rounded upon her, "What's in that room?"
"Don't know," Maria admitted, "Mother Marigold would never tell me."
José slapped her. The blow was prompt, immediate, unexpected, and hard enough to shake her system. With their relative strengths, if José could have knocked her out easily, but he was just as surprised by his decision as she was. It had never escalated to this point before, José was too much of a coward. Maybe that new weapon he was carrying got to his head.
José shouted at her, "Talk!"
"Fuck you," Maria choked out.
Frustrated, José stepped over to the cupboard grabbed the bottle of wine and pour it out over the pile of her clothes. Maria watched, a snarl reaching her beak.
"Why would you even do that?" She shouted at him.
"Because I can!" José shouted back, "I'm going to turn you in, and there's nothing you can do."
Frustrated, Maria shouted, "So what then, you'll just fuck with me until I break down and admit to stealing whatever it is you think I stole?"
"I'll do whatever it takes," the Lawman growled.
"Fine, then," Maria curtsied the best she could while cuffed, "I stole whatever it is you think I stole."
José bellowed out a victorious laugh.
Maria sighed, "Now you can have your witness come out and he can help you bring me into jail, where I'll toil until they decide whether or not to hang me from the gallows."
Realization reached José face.
She continued to taunt, "And everyone will find out you were right, and be so embarrassed that they didn't believe you."
José's forehead vein began to bulge, "Shut up."
Maria did not, "And how right you were. No one would have guessed that the little church bird had so much money hidden away. It must explain her expensive tastes."
José struck her again, this time taking her to the ground.
"So what now?" Maria asked, "No one's going to believe you. They know how our exchanges go."
Maria watched as José examined the mess he had made. The rage washed away from his face as the gears slowly turned in his head. Then he looked at her, no longer a man on the edge. To Maria's surprise, he looked more terrifying than ever.
"No one will believe you either," he taunted.

The portly lawman grabbed Maria by her neck and all but threw her at her bed. The little black bird screeched in surprise, never expecting such a thing from her nemesis. He cupped her cranium in one hand and shoved the side of her face into the mattress.
"Wait," Maria struggled, already backpedaling on her words, "You can't-"
José squeezed her neck to interrupt her, "No more words," he all but growled.
Maria felt a hand grab at the hem of her robes, pulling up. She kicked, and thrashed, but José simply squeezed her neck. He might have been strong enough to crush her windpipe, it really didn't take much. She took a moment to consider her options, but as her legs were slowly exposed she decided he wouldn't risk killing her.
"Do you really want to give evidence of a fight?" José taunted.
Maria reconsidered that. She knew that he'd definitely be hung if she died like this, but he might not have been smart enough to realize that. She felt his hairy knuckles brush against her ankle, the urge to claw at him was almost insurmountable. Could she risk doing that? Could she risk not doing that?
She felt the warm summer air upon her bare legs, this couldn't be happening. The robes bunched up above her little clipped tail, this definitely couldn't be happening. She heard him chuckle as he noticed she wasn't wearing anything under her robes, he was just toying with her. A rough hand slid up her leg, he wouldn't escalate this further. The sound of a belt buckle being unfastened reached her ears…
"Please, don't" Maria whispered.
Maria winced as she felt a finger prod her, how could she let this happen? His finger entered and she tensed up around him, wasn't she the one in control? Her body tightened around him, not allowing further entry, but he pressed in harder, churning up a certain feeling in her stomach. He felt around, causing her body to squirm on its own, she couldn't let him do this. With wet pop, his finger came free.
"Just," Maria's voice was a lot breathier than she expected, "Just get it over with."
She felt something else press up to her. The heat of contact caused her stomach to turn a flip. From how he was holding her down, she couldn't even look at him to confirm, but here it was. She took a moment to send a short prayer to whomever might be listening, to give her the strength to make it through this. He lingered long enough to make her ponder if he was having second thoughts, or maybe the sheer shock had slowed down time. Maria had hoped to enjoy her first time, but this situation was…
He pressed in. The pain of being spread around him was unbearable. As he slowly parted her, Maria's mind slowly filled with noise. She was unable to think of anything else for the eternity in those three seconds he spent pushing her to her limit. It was simply too much.
The pain had subsided only a little before he began. New pain breaking her down with each thrust. Her body screamed at her under his weight, as each world ending pulse shook her.
"Not so smart now," the Lawman taunted.
Tears stained her mattress as she began to grow adjusted to the pain. A new feeling, one she had never felt, took over. A fire in her, tingly and disgusting waved over her senses. Her body urged her to explore this new sensation, but screams were still in protest.
The lawman pulled out to roll Maria onto her back. He smirked down at her, grabbing her handcuffs in one hand and guiding himself back in with the other. This time the entry was smooth, less painful, more… bearable. She couldn't force herself to enjoy it.
The portly man grabbed her by the beak and forced her to look at him. Their eyes met in a burning intensity, her stomach turning under his dominant glare. Fear forced her eyes shut as her body continued to writhe in conflict.
She felt a moan escape her. That wasn't right. Her body desperately needed this, in the same way it needed a knife in the gut. She couldn't help but want him to be finished with this inside her. She wanted him to claim her… and that's where her denial broke.
He thrust one final time and released his seed deep within her. She screamed, in need, in pain, in lust, and in hate, then collapsed her body unwilling to continue being.
José straightened himself and quirked a cocky smile, "Next time I so much as think you might be involved in a theft, expect me to cut straight to the chase."
Maria knew she was supposed to feel something in response to that, but was too exhausted to feel anything at all.
The lawman freed her from the cuffs, stowed them, and sauntered off, a nice little spring in his step. The man made it five steps before the doors to the little church flung open.
Mother Marigold stepped in, immediately realized something was wrong and came running. She found the scene as is, José caught red handed, and Maria at her most vulnerable. Despite the open sockets, her eyes seemed to draw wide as she rushed to Maria's side. Her bony fingers touched Maria lightly before stood again, disbelief in her body language.
José's face paled as he realized he wasn't going to get away with this. He attempted to flee, but was immediately clotheslined by a burly shirtless Orc in a black mask. He looked down at the lawman, immediately ready to apologize, but slowly examined the situation and decided instead to grab the man and hold him down. Another man, this one in flowing silk robes stepped up and offered to dispose of the man.
"No," Mother Marigold stated, "Let him go."
The Orc did so, confusion painting his face.
José straightened himself, and tried to act like he hadn't just gotten caught with his pants down.
Mother Marigold approached the lawman and glared in a way only a naked skull can, "You will never return to this place. You will never approach my this girl. You will never speak of this."
José opened his mouth to question.
"You have no realm of understanding the wrath I could bring upon you," Marigold threatened, "nor the dire cost of doing so. If you press this, the world be damned, I will end you."
"I thought you were a Savant of Dande," José spoke without thinking.
She glared at him until fear cut his nerve and he fled. The normally quiet old bones took a moment to confirm he was running with all his might back to town. She then let herself slack, her gentle nature returning. Her god did not allow her to lie.
