Chapter Nine: Plotholes and Rude Awakenings
I don't know. I think that I'm liking the shorter chapters more and more (and not just because I don't have to write as much!). So I'll probably be doing shorter chapters, but possibly more if I can. Intro out.

Though I was still almost completely unconscious, I was sure that something seemed amiss. I faintly remembered falling asleep with my arms wrapped around Tera, and that I could still be sure of, but I hadn't quite become aware to whether I was asleep or awake. It felt like I was dreaming, only with a much higher sense of my surroundings.
There I was, pressing my furred mass against another furred mass, the two bodies creating a wave of heat that seemed abnormal. I felt my eyes roll around under their lids for a moment before slowly cracking them open. The room was dark, courtesy of there being no windows, and it took a few seconds for my eyes to adjust. It turned out I wasn't dreaming after all.
What started out as a blurred silhouette blobbing its way toward and away from me soon focused into Tera's back, with only her lower half making any movement. It was then that I realized what was amiss. The fact that I had what I would have called a case of 'morning wood' had gone unnoticed by me. She, on the other hand, seemed to have taken great interest in it.
My immediate reaction wasn't much of anything. Feeling had yet to reach my mind, and I was still under the power of the early-waking paralysis on my body. She was free to do whatever she wanted, and apparently had no intentions of stopping.
Seconds passed and my cognition was quickly returning to me. My arms were no longer wrapped around her; one was pressed snugly between the bed and her body, the other moved loosely on her hip. A now raging hard-on must've given away my awareness because Tera jolted to a halt and hastily turned her head to glance at me. Her eyes were narrow, seductively pleased.
Her voice came out raspy and slow, "Oh, so you are awake. I guessed that you were already, so I sort of... went along with it."
She blushed as I brought my paw up to pet her cheek. The feel of her dampening fur on my bare flesh made me shiver with excitement. My shaft was hard and ready to go, which I was completely okay with. "Do... you want to?" I asked somewhat awkwardly, not sure of how to propose.
With a nod she confirmed that the same idea was on her mind. Slowly, teasingly she rolled forward, making sure to drag ever-so softly away from my member. It made me realize just how moist she actually was, taking into account that my entire lower front was nearly soaked. It made me shiver again.
In the same euphoric tone, she questioned, "You cold? I'm sure I could warm you up if you wanted..."
Trailing off, she managed to keep a straight face long enough to tuck her muzzle into the nape of my neck. Biting softly, she pressed her paws against my chest. I let my arms go as they pleased as my paws directed themselves to the base of her tail, massaging the entire area with fervor. Letting out a quiet moan she pressed her hips firmly against mine. "Oh God," she let out a heavy sigh as my shaft rubbed harder against her opening lips, "Juhhh... I want it so bad."
Tera's hip started pulsating, sliding her slick pedals across the entirety of my phallus. As she neared my tip, I almost entered her, but backed away right before, leaving her nearly whining in defeat. I lifted her head and felt a pang of sadness just looking into her wanton eyes. "I want you to be on top." It seemed that my brain and mouth were working against me, or it could have been the amount of pheromones I had been inhaling that made me say exactly what was on my mind.
Her ears perked up and turned toward me. She chirped unlike one would expect if they had seen her mulling about just minutes before. Without warning she pushed me over onto my back roughly. Seeing her in control made my flag fly at full mast, protruding and bobbing in the air.
From my position, I could see it all. Her glistening mound which was almost dripping from her excitement, her tone abdomen, her firm breasts with their nipples perfectly centered and erect, and her face which was plastered with a mixed look of mischievous intent and lustrous desire.
With a nervous paw she took hold of my shaft and positioned herself over it, making me gasp with anticipation. Carefully she lowered herself down until her thighs rested flat against mine. The warm and constricting grip her inner walls had on me was intense. It made my head start to spin so much that I didn't even notice that she hadn't moved any more.
Just after I focused my eyes, I felt Tera's bosom press against my chest and heard her breathing in my ear. "What's wrong, Tera?"
Her muzzle twitched and she spoke, "I don't think that I can keep going... I'm sorry."
I started stuttering; trying to word out the confusion I was feeling. "But, what's--is it me? Did I--was it something... I'm sorry?"
Unceremoniously, she pushed her upper body up and lifted her hips, letting my quivering and quickly diminishing hard-on slip out of her. Without a word Tera removed herself from the bed and paced over to the chest of drawers in the far corner, pulling from the bottom drawer a handful of clothes, leaving me to only stare on blankly. She took the handful of clothes and walked stiff-legged out the door, not even bothering to shut it behind her.
"What... did I do?"
* * * * *
An entire hour went by, the entire time I was wondering what I'd done to have Tera do something like that. I was left in the dark for so much, this time literally. The only thing that I knew was that I must've been at fault for something. Was it because she didn't want to? I shook my head. No way. I mean, I saw the look in her eyes. She wanted it. But, what if I hurt her? It had been two weeks, and with how fast we heal now... I dunno. Maybe it's 'that time of the month?' I fell back down onto the bed with my paws covering my eyes. Does she even get 'that time of month?'
Beating myself up wasn't getting me anywhere. I had to at least try to talk to her, to try to maybe figure out what happened. There weren't any clothes lying around, not even in any of the drawers or the wardrobe. I was forced to go out bareback.
I didn't bother to try to cover anything up, since there really wasn't anything to cover that wasn't already by a coat of fur. The only problem was that the house was so large I found myself rounding the same corners over and over. "Dang, it feels like I'm in one of those screwy houses with all the secret doors and stuff," I mumbled under my breath.
Bam! If I'd been more watchful of where I was going instead of where I had been I would have noticed the banister that I ran my foot in to. Focusing my attention away from the pain in my big toe I saw that I had found a spiral staircase circling upward to the apparent second floor of the house. I had figured there would be one somewhere. At least, I think it did.
Curiosity leading the way, I climbed. Halfway up I realized that this wasn't a staircase to the second floor--no, there were far too many stairs for that, and I was far too high up, even for an eleven-foot-high ceiling. So I only guessed that it was possibly either a trick staircase, compliments of Rynkort, or it was a random entrance to the attic, of which I also imagined the mansion had.
As I reached the top I noticed that I was surrounded by doors. It was a narrow hallway, with doors. Plain doors to boot. How anticlimactic, I thought. Reaching for the first knob, I noticed that the door did seem to catch in my memory. Turning the handle I realized why. The room inside was filled with the same machines that I saw when I woke up here in the first place. I found it strange that the room was so far upstairs when I didn't recall ever going down any. But, then again, I didn't remember much of the first few hours anyway.
There were muffled noises my ears picked up as I closed the door. They were coming from further down the hall, toward the end. I started sneaking toward it as fast I could. The closer I moved, the more distinct the sounds became, going from waves of distorted noise to fully distinguishable grunts and pants. The first thought that came to mind was that I had found where Alex and Johnny were staying, and I would have just turned around and left had I not heard one thing: Stop biting so hard Tera...
My first inclination was that my ears were playing tricks on me. My second inclination was that my first inclination was wrong. With a rushed step I ran toward the sound. Coming to a halt outside the door I was sure held the sounds, I stopped completely. Okay, I began to think, if I open this door and Tera's in there with someone, then I don't know what I'll do. But, if I just walk away now, I can pretend that I didn't hear a thing and be on my way.
I was never good at leaving things alone. I realized that as I found myself turning to doorknob. The sight that filled my eyes caused them first to widen, then to blur, then to blacken out. They opened again and I saw the same thing. I closed them once more to try and clear my thoughts, but the image was imprinted on my mind and swarmed through my mind too.
Two creatures were positioned vertically against a far wall. One of them I could tell instantly was Tera, the very Tera that had previously left me out to dry for an unexplained reason. The other I had to process because I hadn't known who to expect. Tall, grey, muscular; the three things seemed familiar, but my mind wouldn't let me put them together. I needed to see a face.
The masses continued moving as though I weren't even there. It hadn't yet clicked completely what they were doing, just that Tera had ditched me. Then, I got a face-full of what I thought I needed to see.
Johnny. Something snapped in my brain. Synapses were firing off at an insane rate, and messages were being conveyed. I could feel them. Break down and cry. It's okay, it's the least you should do knowing what you know now.
But what I knew wasn't what I wanted to know, and I was pushing it out of my head. The prospect seemed plausible, but it wasn't happening. Tera was... having sex with... Johnny...
"I'm sorry Tera," the words slipped out accidentally, and both sets of ears turned immediately, followed by shocked looks. "I'm sorry that I did whatever I did to deserve this..."
Then I turned and started walking away. The hallway seemed black. The doors seemed black. The floor, ceiling, everything was black. My world had been turned inside out, outside in, and then my heart ripped out, stepped on, chewed up, spat out, and sliced to pieces. I could feel tears boiling up, but nothing came out. My face felt hot and my body cold. I felt dead and wanted even more so to die.
I had reached a door before I managed to wipe my eyes of the salty tears. I had assumed it was the front entrance because of the large archway it created, so I opened it. No sooner had I pulled the handle that two voiced came calling from behind me. There were no intentions to listen to anyone in my mind.
As I stepped forward and out the door, it was obvious that I was nowhere near a front entrance, but more a rear or side escape. My immediate view was filled with shrubs and flowers in thousands of assortments and varieties. While they were pretty and gave off a pleasantly strong aroma, they only distracted me from escaping the madness that had become my life.
I didn't really think about what I was doing. Really, I hadn't thought about anything I was doing since I became an Anthro. My usual routine had been shattered into a million pieces, and there wasn't anything that could put them back together. I gave a sardonic laugh. Well, I thought, I did say that I wanted a change in my life.
No. My mind snapped back into perspective, and I beat my fist into an open palm, leaving both tingling. This was not the change I wanted. I wanted a good change. Then I started thinking; never a good thing for my wandering mind. It was good... until Tera... The thought flared in my skull. Images came back that I never wanted to see again. Images that made me want to destroy something beautiful.
It had to be about that time that irony came into play and the voice of the one who betrayed me called out. Sickly funny how in the heat of passion one calls out for who they truly desire. I remembered simply that she nearly stuttered out a name earlier, one that started not like my name, but of the name of someone who used to be my friend.
"Matt! Where are you?" she called out, that whore of a seductress. I calmly walked out into the open air and revealed myself. In my disturbed state of mind I thought it better to get this out of the way faster so that I could find a bridge to jump off sooner.
"Oh, you two do me such honor for cleaning up, at least, before you came after me. Should I thank you, or be even more sickened is the real question though," I said as I noticed the two both had wrapped themselves in towels.
"Matt, I don't know what to say..."
Tera started to speak, but I paid her no attention. "Ya know, I thought that maybe, just maybe, I could deal with the cards handed to me. Boy howdy was I wrong! Nope, I think that I'm gonna go find a nice little shotgun to put my face in front of. See ya later, lovebirds!"
Not even bothering to let either of them speak, I literally dove off into the bushes. I thought it to be more dramatic in a sadistic way. Too bad for me I didn't take into account that the bushes were a bit thicker than I expected, so it took some effort to actually crawl through them. Eventually I reached the other side and nonchalantly paced my way through the outskirts of campus.
Never before had I been so sick to my stomach. Everything made me ill. The trees, the flowers, the cries of my name that grew louder and louder as my pace quickened more and more; everything. I was about to take out some of my pent up aggression on a defenseless squirrel when, all of a sudden, a new target just happened to grab me by the arm.
"Listen, Matt! It was an accident! A mistake! C'mon man--"
"Ya know, Johnny, right now is not the best time to try and have a cognitive conversation with me. I'm looking for any excuse to hit something, and you're making yourself a great target," the ferocity in my voice had to be apparent.
"You won't hit me. I know you Matt, and you've never once hit me. Now c'mon, let's just talk about this."
"Broken ribs, or broken nose? Take your pick."
His grip loosened slightly. "Dude, can't we just talk about this?"
He chose after all. His mouth wouldn't stop moving, so I was going to close it for him. "If you hadn't noticed, I'm not who I used to be. I'm an Anthro. Now you have two seconds to let me go before you learn a true lesson in betrayal."
"No, Matt. You're still the same guy I knew back in the day. You're still the same predictable guy that I know--"
"You don't know me at all you son of a..."
The sound of his muzzle cracking under my clenched fist blurred out the last word, as if it needed to be said. Immediately he let go and went straight to the ground in a crumpled heap. Tera screamed, and I found it fitting. It was fitting that she would scream out her sympathy for her new fuck-buddy.
The same thing kept spewing out of her mouth, and it started to get annoying. Her reiterations of taking the Lord's name in vain were very offensive. "You shouldn't use the name of God like that Tera. You already pissed Him off enough by fucking Johnny, so He might just strike you down if you keep it up."
More screaming. It was becoming more and more unintelligible as the seconds passed, and I decided to move on. She could handle the situation, I was sure. It wasn't until I was nearly twenty yards away that I stopped cold in my tracks. Something caught my ears that didn't seem right. "Come again?"
"Oh my God! You killed him! Johnny's dead you bastard! You killed Johnny! You killed him!"
