Welcome back to Richard's storyline of The Gift. This is part 4 of Chapter 8, Richard's final chapter!

With the conclusion of the Ritual of Binding, Richard finds himself with two Bound Spirits but, at the same time, he is also Bound to them, and it takes some time for him to wrap his brain around what that means. The Spirits likewise take the opportunity to wrap around too. As understanding finally sets in, Richard is presented with quite a quandary, which readers shall resolve for him, having chosen the following option:

3) -- didn't bother hiding it. "No, Balam... I think we've all waited long enough..."

The words echoed around in my head as our surroundings slowly faded to black... not unlike a dramatic scene shift in a movie. I make that comparison because, when I next experienced the 'fade in', we were standing inside the house; I was fully clothed and each Spirit was back in their own respective raiments. "What just happened?"

Having spoken it in English, only Jack really seemed to understand and he was kind enough to respond. "We are bound to thee, Richard... the ritual is done."

I thought fondly back to the ritual, reveling in the feel of freedom and closeness to my Spirits, and got the surprise of my life when their clothing disappeared in unison, leaving them equally surprised. Balam was the first one of us to recover his wits enough to comment. He did so in Spanish. "You are learning quickly, Weaver."

The statement snapped me out of my surprise, but only because it surprised me more. "You mean... I did this?"

Unlike the ritual, Balam was, for the first time I'd met him, completely naked; there wasn't a piece of jewelry on him and, for some reason, it seemed almost... wrong. As quickly as I came to that conclusion his jewelry and headdress reappeared. The Jaguar raised his arm to look at the bangle, then back to me. He responded in English. "Thank you, Weaver."

I was still confused, but I realized the least I could do was be gracious. "You're welcome... I think..."

Jack, in the meantime, was running his talons across his naked body. "My armor..." and then paused when they came to his bare hips. "My sword!"

It was wrong for him to be without it, I reasoned. He was a Guardian, and he was never without a weapon. Just as surely as the thought crossed my mind, his leather belt complete with sword reappeared around his midsection. Although he had been completely naked moments before, something about the reappearance of his belt made his new condition seem all the more... lurid... and I realized that I liked it.

The Gryphon put two and two together. "Thou art making these changes in us, Richard... thou hath far more control than I had thought possible so early in our Binding..."

I tried to do the same with connecting the mental dots. "You mean... now that you two are Bound to me I can... make... changes?"

Balam languidly strode forward, twirling around me until his furred chest was pressed against my back, and he spoke into my ear, chin almost resting on my shoulder as his words, which had started in Mayan, slowly changed until I heard them as English. His last sentence was crystal clear. "We can all make changes, Weaver-- you to either of us, and either of us to you... though Spirits are far more subject to change than Humans."

It was evident that Jack could understand the Jaguar just as clearly and he moved up in front of me, wings half extended as he reached, folding his arms around me from the front. "I am thy canvass, Richard... I shall be whatever thou makest of me."

The statement was overwhelming. "I... just... want you to be you."

Jack's wings folded around me, and, considering how wide his wing span, likely around Balam as well. "Then I shall remain as I am... and I thank thee for allowing me my blade."

Not realizing exactly where I stood in the situation, and still not hearing the flip side of being Bound to two Spirits, a thought popped into my head. "So... how can the two of you change me, exactly? Should I be worried?"

I felt Balam's fur through my shirt, and his paws brushing over my chest as he rubbed my sternum, his hot breath puffing against my ear with each breath. "Not as you can change us, Richard... but you are as Spirit to us... we can feel you and touch you more easily. I hope this pleases you as it pleases me."

Quivering slightly from the feel of his sandpapery paws against my flesh, the sensation sent a shiver up my spine as one of his sharp teeth gently grazed my earlobe. The deep-chested purr vibrating me from behind identified the fact that he was enjoying the closeness just as much. From the front, I felt the fur and feathers of Jack as the Gryphon snuggled closer, but I also felt a long, firm, slick length of flesh press against my abdomen; it echoed one I realized was brushing up against my spine from behind.

Clinging onto the rational and logical part of my brain was difficult as both amazing Spirits pressed their bodies against me, but I still somehow managed to force my next question out. "Is... that all? You can't change me like-- like I... change you?"

I gasped as the paws on my chest phased through my shirt and began to unbutton it; at the same time the talons on at my ribs slid down to my hips before cupping my butt and giving each cheek a gentle squeeze. Everything was so confusing it almost sounded like Jack's voice came from Balam behind me. "Thou shalt never fear sickness."

To make things even more confusing, Balam's voice came from the beak gently nibbling at the hair atop my head. "You will live far longer than other mortals."

The Jaguar behind me pressed his hips forward, his slick, barbed member felt like another tongue licking me and his teeth grazed against my shoulder. Once again his voice was his own, and his teeth were replaced by his rough tongue, licking me as my shirt fell to the ground. "You will have guidance and companionship..."

Jack slowly disengaged, going to his knees before me as his talons hooked into my pants and drew them down. "Thou shalt never lack for companionship, or the touch of those who desire thee and all thou dost represent to them..."

I gasped, closing my eyes against the ministrations of my Spirits as they worked together, finding out every place I liked to be touched, and many more I didn't even know of myself. They continued attending me even as we somehow managed to travel from the living room to my bedroom without any slowing in their attention. I almost felt as though I was walking on clouds as they brought me to my bed and only then did they disengage.

My two Spirits stood before me, each a gorgeous and handsome figure in his own right but together they made the most amazing matching pair. I felt my heart swell as I gazed upon them, not just taking pride in how far we'd come, but also from the knowledge that they not only found me worthy of their attention, but they also desired me just as much as I wanted them. My follow up words were as much to show I remembered what they'd taught me as it was to prove just how much I wanted them in my life. "And, as long as I am here to provide it, the two of you will never want for Spirit Energy... This is my Pact to you."

In unison, they acknowledged "As is our Pact to you."

I'm not exactly sure what happened next, or how I could explain it even if I did, but the room filled with a Turquoise light and both Spirits closed their eyes, spreading their arms and Jack's wings along with them as they left the floor, rising into the air. A handprint glowed the same color on each of their chests, and they slowly lowered once again. Once they opened their eyes, both gaze at me with what I could only perceive as pure affection-- I'm sure it's how I was looking at them.

Two handsome Spirits stood before me, two sets of Amethyst eyes gleaming with adoration... and desire. Honestly, if I had to admit it, I'm sure there was just as much desire coming from me. It was Balam who broke the silence. "I have waited for you for some time, Richard-- for this. Would you have me wait longer?"

It was hard to avoid smiling, but I--
