Vanessa's normal routine is altered after informing Alice of Jesse's warning. Her belief is that her sergeant is overreacting by taking the word of mouth seriously, but she isn't in any position to argue with her. Soon, she realizes just how wrong she was to disregard the predictions of an absol. A day out with Tiberius proves to be the most dangerous of her career and during it, she learns something about Tiberius that she never could have imagined.

Behind the scenes, puppet masters enact plans that put the entire city in danger. Arcadia rises, and the only person that seems to understand the severity of the threat is Alice, but what happened in Lostlorn to make her hold such a vendetta?

“So, then I said that if he wanted to really learn how to fight, he should come with me to the training range.”

“Mmmhm.”

“Cause, you know, I could kick any of the other guy’s asses if I wanted to. Especially Caesar’s; he couldn’t fight off a caterpie if it looked at him sweetly.”

“I’m sure you could.”

Tiberius snorted beneath her and threw his large head up to meet Vanessa’s eyes. The big dog didn’t try to hide his excitement. His eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint that she had come to expect from the pokemon, but her thoughts were muddled and distant. “Believe me, I’m strong enough that if I went all out on you, you wouldn’t be able to walk for a week.”

The mid-afternoon sun hung high overhead and Vanessa was already starting to feel the heat weighing her down. Beads of sweat formed on her forehead and ran down the side of her face, causing her to glisten with moisture. There was no shade on the outskirts of town near Route 4, and with no wind blowing the humid air was stagnant, hanging over the two of them like a damp towel. Summer had truly entered the proverbial dog days, and Vanessa seriously wished Alice hadn’t forced the change in their patrol.

When she reached the zoroark’s apartment the night before, her mistress had been thrilled to learn that she had accomplished her task in taking all Caesar had to give her. She need only see the bow-legged gait that she had to know the stallion had completely dominated her. The memory of the horse pokemon rocking against her, driving her down with every thrust was still fresh in her mind. Her femininity felt sensitive and more than once she grimaced when Tiberius made a sudden movement that caused his saddle to grind between her legs.

“What’s up with you, you’ve been quiet all day.” The arcanine’s bushy tail flagged high behind him, the tip brushing against her and swirling around in slow movements. “Something on your mind? Just eager to get to the end of our shift so we can have a nice hump?” His long, pink tongue fell from the corner of his muzzle and she heard him murr in delight. “Can’t wait to see how you handle my knot, now.”

“Just have some stuff on my mind, is all.” Her reply was a bit sharper than she would have liked it to sound, and the way the arcanine’s ears twitched didn’t go unnoticed by her. She sighed as she leaned back in his saddle, looking up at the cloudless sky and wishing for some relief from the choking heat that surrounded them. She reached up to tug at her collar, grimacing when she felt how damp the material was from her sweat. “I think…Alice and I had our first fight last night.”

“Mmmmm.” The arcanine grumbled in understanding, looking up and down the dirt service road that they had crossed into. At one end was a large, electrical substation, surrounded by chain-link fences. They were surrounded by a large field on one side and rocky, dry terrain that led to the desert of Route 4. “I was wondering why she seemed so pissy this morning.” His air of playfulness diminished slightly, but the playful smirk was still on his face. “Trouble in paradise?”

Vanessa pursed her lips and sighed as she grabbed her helmet and pulled it off; freed from the confines of the constrictive attire, she at least felt a little less smothered. “Well, maybe fight isn’t the right word for it. You remember Jesse, right?” His growl and the way his body straightened was more than enough to let her know he did.

“I swear I’m still finding sand in my fur from that little shit. What about him?”

“Well…I saw him last night. He said that one of his friends, an absol, was getting kind of freaked out about something in town.” The large canine tensed up beneath her even more, making her raise an eyebrow. It was the same way Alice had reacted when she told her about this, although it was lost on Vanessa why it was such a big deal. “He told me to be careful. When I woke up today, I told Alice-“

“Ooooh, you two move in together? I bet the two of you never get any sleep.”

“Tiberius.”

“Sorry, go on.”

Her heels pressed harder into his side, urging him on to go faster in the hope that his forward momentum would assist in creating some kind of air movement. “She wanted to know why I didn’t tell her last night.” Her face curled up at the thought of how the fox pokemon had looked at her; a mixture of concern and annoyance that took Alice by surprise. “It’s not a big deal, right? I mean, absols aren’t always right.”

“I’ve never met one that’s ever been wrong.” The large canine hummed to himself gently, the inquisitive sound making her frown. She had never been the superstitious type when it came to omens or predictions. Even when there were Pokedex entries insisting certain pokemon had the gift of premonition. “I know some of the more old-fashioned cities keep them around. So, she got mad about that?”

The heat Vanessa felt on her back was momentarily blocked when a dark shadow passed over them. Her eyes flicked upwards but whatever pokemon it was flew so high that she couldn’t tell what it was. “Well…I kind of told her that she doesn’t need to worry about me. I think she took it the wrong way…”

A feeling of unease came over her while her head was tilted upwards. It hadn’t been hard to tell whenever a pokemon flew over them over the course of the day, and it made her wonder if this was the same one making repeated trips.

Their walk to the office had been awful. The silence between them reminded her when she had first joined the force and met Alice. Neither woman had been willing to back down from their opinion on how Jesse’s warning should be approached. Ultimately, Alice had told her that she was pulling routine patrol on the edge of town. Vanessa was certain she had made things all the worse when she left Alice’s office, slamming the door behind her like a petulant child.

Her mount paused in his motions; his head directed upwards as he followed the path of the pokemon overhead. “Now, I’m just saying,” he spoke softly, the genuine sincerity in his voice making Vanessa’s face redden “if you were my mate, I’d never put you in a situation where you could get hurt. Pokemon act differently than humans, right?” He started to walk again, his large paws kicking up plumes of dust around them. “I mean, at least we still get our day out, right, partner?”

“Heh, I guess that’s a good point, partner…” If nothing else, it made her happy to know how much the arcanine enjoyed their time together. She was willing to admit that his personality could be grating at times, but he always seemed genuinely happy to be around her. The nightly duties she had to accomplish for two pokemon was exhausting at times, but it all seemed worth it to her.

It had quickly struck her just how much the arcanine enjoyed when she bathed him. At first, she had assumed it was because he just enjoyed having his junk fondled; she always made sure to keep his generous sac clean, and admittedly she was still drawn to his large orbs. After the last few days, however, she had come to think that it might have just been the sense of bonding the laborious process afforded them. She supposed there was a certain amount of trust needed in allowing another person to wash you.

“Anyways, I wouldn’t worry about it too much, ya know?” The faint hum of electricity hit their ears as he walked past the substation. Towering, electrical transformers stood from solid concrete; the ugly landmark was appropriately placed far enough from the beauty of Castelia City to not raise a fuss. It was important to check to make sure no electric-type pokemon had managed to get through the fence, but it still seemed like a waste of their time. “She’s just looking out for you. You know we’d do anything to make sure you’re safe.”

Vanessa was about to respond before she felt the shadow passing overhead once more, this time much lower to the ground. It enveloped them in darkness, startling the human and making her grip the reins to Tiberius’ saddle tighter.

A large gust of wind hit them from behind, nearly knocking Vanessa from Tiberius’ back. The canine’s fur billowed in the sudden breeze and she felt him going incredibly stiff, his ears flattening against his head. Slowly, he turned around, his body cocked on instinct in order to place as much of Vanessa behind him as he could.

The cloud of dust surrounded a large pokemon resting on clawed hands, its wings flared upwards. It watched the two of them silently, bright eyes fixated on Vanessa with a cold determination that chilled the human to the bone. She had never seen a pokemon like this before in person, but she had seen them before on television. A Noivern, if she remembered correctly; they were dragon and flying types and were notorious for their fighting prowess in the dark.

Her eyes were drawn to his face, his large nostrils flaring as he began to take a few steps closer to the two of them. The pokemon disregarded Tiberius entirely, focused solely on his rider with an almost hunger in his eyes. Vanessa couldn’t miss the ‘A’ marking over his eye, reminiscent of a brand or burn that made her cringe just to look at it.

“Are you okay, do you need help?”

“You better say something, buddy,” Tiberius spoke in a demanding tone, the edges of his fangs showing in a display meant to dissuade what he thought might turn into something much worse. “It’s not a good idea to sneak up on police officers; I could have roasted your ass if you weren’t careful.”

The noivern watched the two of them, examining the way the arcanine held himself before scoffing softly. “Vanessa Keeran.” His eyes narrowed at him, his lip curling back to reveal his own fangs to the arcanine. His wings had risen higher, making him seem even larger than before. “I thought that was you. You are not riding the horse, so I wasn’t sure.” The muscles in his arms bulged outwards when he noticed how Tiberius was growling at him, and he hissed under his breath threateningly.

Her eyes flicked down to her helmet when she realized that removing it had given away her identity to a creature that had apparently been stalking her. Hearing her name made her incredibly uneasy, especially with the way he continued to approach them. It seemed like he knew about Caesar, as well, an almost disappointing drop to his voice.

Officer Keeran,” she corrected him quickly, “you were following us, weren’t you?” The lessons she had learned in the academy of dealing with aggressive pokemon came to mind. Slowly so as not to provoke him and with her eyes fixed on the marked pokemon’s own, she threw one of her legs over Tiberius’ side to touch the ground. She noticed the way he twitched when she began to reach for her radio, and it made her hesitate.

“I needed to make sure.” The noivern stood a couple of dozen yards from them now, his impressive wingspan taking up the entire width of the road they stood on. “I have orders to take you,” one of his clawed hands reached up to scratch at his neck, unintentionally showcasing the sharp claws he possessed that glinted in the sunlight. “I do not need the dog.”

“Hey, that’s almost funny.” Tiberius’ growls got deeper, anger prevalent on his face as his haunches raised. “If you’re trying to be cute, you made a big mistake. No one threatens my partner, especially not someone with a tacky-ass tattoo on their face.”

That was all Vanessa needed to hear. As Tiberius stepped in front of her, she quickly grabbed her radio. She had just brought it to her mouth before a loud, ringing screech broke through the air. It made her cringe and she had to drop the radio to clamp her hands to her ears for fear her eardrums might burst. Her heart started to pound fast in her chest when she saw the way the large canine reacted to this, his much more sensitive hearing taking the brunt of the attack.

The noivern’s boomburst attack was enough to cause the long grass in the fields to ripple, a powerful force that almost bowled the two of them over. It was an angry sound. Rage, malevolence, and furor all combined into one noise that made Vanessa’s blood run cold. The bat pokemon’s amplified screech effectively paralyzed them both, and when he finally let up, Vanessa’s ears were ringing. The only thing she could compare it to was when she had to go to the gun shooting range as a cadet and her earplugs had slipped out; everything seemed muted and far away with a distant ringing apparent.

“This is a sign of fealty, cur! I have taken a path that our kind dare not even begin to fathom!” His expression had changed from calm deliberation to a twisted visage reminiscent of the gargoyle statues that graced the older churches in Castelia. Vanessa saw it before Tiberius did, concentrated force gathering around the noivern’s claws; she shouted a warning to him, but with the arcanine’s hearing damaged from the attack it did no good.

The air slash came directly at them, glistening in mid-air and carrying a wide berth. Tiberius may not have heard her, but his movements were autonomous, throwing his form in front of her. The canine’s large body rocked from the sudden impact, a pained howl hitting Vanessa’s ears. A rusty odor hit her nose moments later, and she gasped when she saw the source of it.

Blood dripped from the arcanine’s side, the large pokemon breathing heavily from exertion after that hit.

Pokemon battles were inherently dangerous, so the creators of pokeballs had come up with a solution. A built-in security device that lessened the amount of damage a pokemon could take and deliver. It was intended to prevent extreme damage and allow pokemon to receive more superficial injuries that could be quickly healed. This was one of the reasons trainers weren’t allowed to enter areas with wild pokemon without a team of their own to protect them; a wild pokemon could do a lot of damage if it wanted to.

Tiberius’ pokeball suppression field should have protected him, but the proof of its failure was right in front of her. She had never seen a pokemon bleed like this before; this wasn’t just a scratch like most pokemon delivered. When the arcanine turned, she could see the deep gash in his side, his fur matted down with blood already. The cold realization hit her moments later. Some pokemon had rapidly adapted to human advancements in technology; it was called infiltrator, an ability that allowed the user to bypass safeguards and shields.

The look of surprise on the arcanine’s face was quickly replaced by rage as the noivern’s claws began to gather more energy. “Vanessa, get away and call for backup, I’ll cover you!” She had never seen the canine like this before. He stood resolute against his opponent, favoring his front left arm a little but still steady on his feet. His muzzle had dropped down low and hung open, the heat in the immediate area rising sharply as flames began to form. Vanessa hadn’t been around him when he hit the training range even though he insisted he went every day; now she was seeing the truth to his words.

A large, x-shaped burst of fire bellowed forth from the canine’s maw, the flame that raged deep in the arcanine’s body brought to life by his sudden need to protect Vanessa. The noivern was more than able to telegraph the move, his large wings flaring out and pulling him out of harm's way with one strong flap of his arms. Tiberius was already following it up with a flamethrower attack, spraying a burst of concentrated fire wildly in the air around him.

Vanessa took this opportunity to grab the radio, caught between trying to stay and assist her mount and alerting the others. Her service weapon hung from her belt, hanging heavy and reminding her that she had another option should things grow truly dire. It was meant to be used on armed assailants that showed a clear intent to deliver harm to an officer; she knew she would have been in her rights to use it.

It turned her stomach to think of pulling it on anyone. Never in her career had she even needed to pull it from the holster. Her fingers drifted to the thick, fabric case momentarily but she shouldn’t force herself to undo the button that held it close.

The sound of the battle raged on, the loud screeches from the bat pokemon accompanying the ground shaking beneath her feet. Tiberius was quick on his paws now that he knew what to watch out for, the arcanine dodging the attacks that the dragon pokemon released on him. He favored long-distance attacks. keeping out of range of the canine pokemon that circled him on the ground. Vanessa noticed that for all his talk of being a strong fighter, the arcanine was already starting to breathe heavily from the exertion.

Her first thought was to head for the substation, her feet nearly falling out from under her when a burst of draconic energy released a few feet behind her. She collided with the fence with a loud grunt, clods of dirt kicked up over her. Her hand wrapped around the radio tight enough that she thought she might crack the plastic coating in a desperate attempt to make sure it didn’t slip away.

There were only so many things they could train her for in the academy. A live-fire situation was one of them, whether it be from a pokemon or a human. Nothing could have prepared her for this, however. Faced with an actual adversary, something that wasn’t pulling punches and actively trying to hurt her partner was an entirely different beast. Her mind was blank from the sudden shock, procedure and planning going to pot in her desperate attempt to find cover from the attacks.

She could see the noivern dipping down towards her out of the corner of her eye, but Tiberius intercepted him with another flamethrower attack. This one hit the dragon pokemon dead on, spreading across his chest and diminishing with hardly a mark on their attacker. Pokemon typing came back to her mind; she had no idea what moves Tiberius knew, although he seemed to favor only his fire attacks. It was enough to keep him away from her, however. The noivern clearly didn’t want her calling for backup.

Vanessa’s ears rang, everything seeming so far away as she desperately pulled the radio up to her mouth. She felt the smooth plastic under her fingers as she jabbed at the button on the receiver and she was about to shout into it before the Noivern’s loud screeching noise cut her off. It was even louder than the last time, the vibrations coursing through her enough to make her teeth feel like they were rattling in her skull.

“Gees, the hell was that?”

“Alice screaming orders again?”

“I had my fucking headset in! Give a guy some warning!”

The radio crackled in response as her fellow officers were greeted to the sound of the angry pokemon attacking her. There was no sense of urgency, no realization that she was in danger. Alice had remarked more than once in the past their unit was composed of drop-outs and idiots, but she expected more from them. A loud yelp from behind her broke her out of her trance, and she grabbed the button once more, her voice stammering from urgency.

“This is m-mounted unit T3, we are under fire at,” she looked urgently at the fence in front of her, “city substation 5. We need backup, now! I repeat we are under attack from an enemy noivern, I nee-“

Her lips trembled as the shadow fell over her along with a wave of cold fear that she had never felt before. The radio fell from her hands as she desperately reached for her service weapon, her fingers fumbling at it in an attempt to pull it free. The hilt felt icy cold in her hand, the weapon much heavier than she remembered it to be when she was merely practicing with it. Only when she heard the footsteps of the pokemon did she finally manage to pull it free, and even then it felt clunky and awkward in her fingers.

The sneering face of the noivern hung mere inches from her own and beyond him, she could see Tiberius laying in a bloody heap on the ground, his chest rising and falling quickly. She raised the weapon in front of her quickly, directing it straight at the noivern. At first, he seemed apprehensive about approaching her, but that was before he saw the way her hands shook, how tightly her hands were locked in place.

“Are you going to shoot me, little human?” The bat pokemon sneered and slowly moved to stand up straighter, spreading his arms out partially to give her a much clearer look at his muscled chest. “If you don’t pull the trigger, I will kill your dog.”

Vanessa thought she was going to be sick. She noticed Tiberius’s eyes were fixated on her, no fear in the eyes of the arcanine; there was something else there, something that she couldn’t decipher. “I’m…I’m warning you.”

His head cocked to the side, the only sound the faint buzzing from behind Vanessa. He only allowed her a few moments to consider her options before darting forward with a low hiss. She felt him grab her by the wrists, keeping her arms spread wide and exposing her entire body to his view. “And here I was hoping you’d impress me.”

She could hear the radio crackling at her feet with requests for confirmation and additional information. With a loud crunch, the noivern brought his hind foot down on it, silencing the voices of her fellow officers. Vanessa looked into the bat pokemon’s face, trying to keep her fear from showing and knowing that she was ultimately failing her goal. His grip on her hand tightened, making her cry out in pain and forcing the weapon from her hand where it clattered to the ground uselessly.

“I do grow so tired of those unwilling to act. What happens next is solely your fault.” His breath was sour and hot, his eyes narrowing at her and giving her a good look at the marking over his eyes. “If this is the totality of what the mounted unit has to offer, then my mistress’ worry was unfounded.”

“Don’t you fucking touch her!” Tiberius tried to stumble to his feet, broken and battered from the constant attacks the noivern had laid down on him. He was out of his element, having not been in an actual fight in so long that he wasn’t used to the pain that came with it. The rage was building in his voice along with a quiver of fear that made Vanessa all the more worried. “I’ll kill you if you hurt her! I swear to Arceus!”

The noivern looked back at him and snorted in anger at his attempts to posture and pose while laying defeated before them. “You could have saved him, but you chose not to. Why does he care so much for you, unless…” His eyes fell on her once more, accusingly, penetrating her defenses and preventing her from stopping his next move. With surprising speed, one of his clawed hands wrapped tightly around her throat, the warning shouts from Tiberius ignored as with his other hand he pinned both of her arms above her head. His claws dug into her neck, almost enough to draw blood and ultimately ripping away the top of her uniform, an amused hiss escaping him when he revealed the blue collar and dangling tag. “Of course.”

Despite her fear and desperation at her situation, her face reddened at the way he looked down on her. She sensed that any respect he had for her was lost; that was why it was so surprising when he loosened his grip on her partially.

“My mistress will be pleased to know what kind of human you are. Maybe she will reward me with the first session with you.” The desperate confusion on her face seemed to amuse him, and to her revulsion a long, black tongue fell from his mouth only to press firmly against her cheek, leaving a trail of slimy saliva where it traveled. “I always preferred the humans that were shameless. It has been too long…once I had all the female humans I could desire…” A wistful expression came across his face, his concentration diverted although his grip on her remained as strong as steel. “Of course, this has to go. No reason to devote yourself to the dead.”

Stinging pain hit her, making her cry out when one of his sharp claws dug into the tough fabric of the collar, easily piercing through it and into her skin below. She could feel warmth running down her neck while a loud snap filled her ears and Tiberius’ collar fell to the ground. A pang of sorrow hit her with surprising strength. She had grown accustomed to the comforting constriction of the collar after learning how important it was to Tiberius, to see it mangled on the ground was more painful than the deep scratch on her neck.

“Now, then, allow me to dispose of him and we will…” he paused, his large ears twitching when he heard the rising noise behind them. It was bone-chilling, a feral sound that hit both Vanessa and the noivern deeply. The sound carried with it an undomesticated tinge, one that very few pokemon were able to make after years of grooming from humans. His grip loosened on her and he hissed when he saw Tiberius getting back to his feet. “Foolhardy, I would have made your death quick.”

The arcanine’s head was dipped as he breathed in and out rapidly. Slow, deliberate movements, not at all like the impulsive urges that Vanessa had seen accompany the arcanine normally.

“Do you have nothing to say? Where is your bravado?” The noivern looked back at Vanessa for a moment, his large nostrils flaring once more. Quick as a whip, he dug his claws into her belt and ripped it away, the remainder of her gear hanging from his hand With a flick of his wrist, he threw it over the fence Vanessa was pressed to, allowing it to clatter to the ground out of reach. His dexterous hindfoot gripped her pistol before it followed suit in flying over the fence. “I will be back for you. You can run if you wish, you will only make things worse for yourself…and more fun for me.”

Vanessa grunted when he roughly pushed her away from him, the sudden movement forcing her to the ground. She didn’t have a chance to say anything before a blur of red and orange suddenly rushed into his form. From the look on the noivern’s face, he obviously wasn’t expecting the burst of energy from the dog. The fence was no match for the arcanine’s extreme speed attack, the metal crunching as Tiberius tackled him straight through it.

The howl that accompanied him signaled his rage and anger as the two pokemon tumbled head over heels, crashing into the electric pylons and knocking them aside. Blue sparks instantly shot upwards, cascading over the two pokemon. Electricity arced overhead from the broken connection, a bolt landing threateningly close to Vanessa’s side and electrifying the metal fence. Her hands dug into the dirt as she rapidly pulled herself away from it, gasping in exertion before she saw Tiberius.

Gone was any of the humor, the personality that she had grown accustomed to on the arcanine’s face. It was all replaced by a blank, empty stare, no sign of intelligence reflected in his gaze. Only a cold, empty void reflecting pools of feral anger directed solely on the noivern in front of him. The pokemon had started to get back to his feet only to be struck back to the ground by the overzealous canine. His rumbling howl was enough to block out the sudden, angry screech that sought to stun Tiberius.

The quick speed of the flying pokemon allowed him to pull away from Tiberius, giving him just enough of an opening to try to get away. His large wings flapped against the ground, but he didn’t manage to raise more than a few feet off the ground. The highest point, he was now a magnet for the electricity that surrounded them. A bolt zapped outwards, entering through his right leg and making him screech in pain; she swore she could see the outline of his skeleton. His body locked up, limbs refusing to heed commands before he limply fell back to the ground in a heap.

Even then, Tiberius’ onslaught didn’t end.

Grinding metal on metal, claws rending flesh, barks and snaps of teeth all met her ears. She could only stare in shock as Tiberius kept on the noivern. He was trapped in a cage with a feral beast, and there was nowhere left for him to run. There was no grace to Tiberius’ moves, he clawed and bit, ripped and tore at him while aiming at his face in a brutal onslaught that would have put a rampaging gyarados to shame.

The pounding of hooves behind her wasn’t enough to pull her away from the fierce display of raw animosity in front of her. Even when she heard someone calling out to her, she couldn’t so much as blink.

“Vanessa? Are you okay?” Alice’s voice sounded far away, her body refusing to move when her sergeant tugged on her arm, trying to get her to her feet. “Come on, get up.” She could see Tiberius’ teeth flashing and the noivern desperately raising an arm in front of his neck, only to screech as his teeth clamped down on the pokemon’s arm. The loud crunch that filled the air made Vanessa sick to her stomach, and she was only drawn out of it when Alice stepped in front of her to block her view.

Tiberius’ pokeball might have suppressed his ability to deal damage, but it wasn’t able to contain the full force of the feral creature that had replaced Vanessa’s partner.

She had left Alice looking angry in her office, but now there was only calmness on her face. Vanessa practically looked straight through her as she got down on her knees and rested her hands on her shoulders, giving the younger woman a little shake. She rapidly blinked her eyes, trying to clear away the fog that settled over her without her realizing it.

“Officer Keeran. I’m talking to you,” the comforting voice of Alice changed to the firm, demanding tone she had come to associate with her mistress. It was the same way she spoke to her when they were in bed and she demanded her do something for the zoroark. Needless to say, her full attention was drawn to her. “Look at me, what happened?” Something told her Alice knew already, especially when she ripped off part of her uniform’s sleeve and dabbed it against the wound on the stunned woman’s neck.

“He…attacked us.” Her voice didn’t seem like her own, while the sounds of the fighting hadn’t let up for a moment. “He wanted me to go with him. He wanted to…he licked my face. I thought he beat Tiberius, but….he was going to kill him and I couldn’t shoot him. ” She cringed as one final howl filled the air, one of victory over a strong foe. “I’ve never seen him like that…”

Alice nodded quickly and this time when she tried to get her to her feet, Vanessa allowed her to help her up. Over her shoulder she could see Tiberius standing above his enemy, staring down at him; she could tell just by the look on his face that he wanted him to get up, wanted to continue their fight. The noivern was barely moving for fear that he might set Tiberius off again, one of his winged arms bent at an odd angle.

Vanessa felt nauseous and she quickly looked away before she became sick. Markus stood near them, the large tauros watching the scene unfold with calculated caution. The two women moved behind him with the bull pokemon standing protectively in front of them like Tiberius had for Vanessa. “What…why is he acting that way.”

Alice was already reaching into Markus’ saddlebags and digging around. After a moment, she pulled out a large, orange spray bottle and tossed it to Vanessa. “That’s what happens when you train a pokemon to attack on command… and then abandon them.” She spoke coldly, her anger apparent in her motions while she grabbed her radio. “Base this is M1. The hostile pokemon is contained. I need a transport crew at substation five. Call the city department and have them send a maintenance crew; there is extensive damage to infrastructure.”

She clicked the radio off immediately afterward, resting a hand on Vanessa’s shoulder and gently urging her on. “I didn’t want you to see this; I had hoped he had gotten past it...” Markus snorted at them, a quick glance from Alice making him go silent. The two women approached the downed fence slowly, the electricity that had been filling the air dissipating as the last of it was burnt out. Tiberius stood in the center of the substation, breathing deeply and staring down at the defeated dragon pokemon. His front arms tensed up when the noivern made a motion to get back up and the canine acted instantly, snarling and lunging forward.

“Tiberius, hier!” Alice spoke loudly and sharply, the arcanine’s ears immediately perking up at the foreign word. Tiberius paused in his motions, thick, red-tinted saliva falling from his fangs. His head swiveled to the two women, still devoid of any sense of autonomy. Slowly, he began to approach them, eyes fixated on Alice. She sensed Vanessa trying to pull away, and she firmly placed a hand on her shoulder to draw her back. The arcanine stopped a few feet in front of them, his fur matted down and filthy from the fight, his breathing incredibly loud. “Tiberius, platz!” Instantly, he dropped to his stomach in front of them, his head moving to rest on his front paws seconds later.

He remained still after that, and Alice gently nudged Vanessa with her elbow. “I’m just glad I was the first one here…the others wouldn’t know how to handle this. Use the potion on him, he won’t hurt you.”

Vanessa looked at her incredulously and then back at the big dog, his eyes fixated blankly at their feet. He didn’t so much as stir as she began to approach him under Alice’s watchful eye. True to her word, the arcanine didn’t even flinch when Vanessa began to douse his wounds. They sealed up almost instantly from the powerful medicine, giving her some form of relief that he wasn’t hurting as much as he was before. “He was…trained to act like this?”

“Like a machine. Acting on instinct with no regard to one’s self.” She confirmed, her voice nearly trembling as she gazed down on the prostate canine. “Something that could ignore the pain and keep attacking, that would protect you against anything,” her eyes caught Vanessa’s and she bared her teeth “that would willingly take a bullet without being asked if it meant keeping you safe.”

With the fear that Vanessa still felt came a sense of understanding when she admitted this. Tiberius had attacked the man that threatened his last partner, all because he had been trained to. That was the reason he had ended up in the mounted unit in the first place. The first sign that he was starting to come back from his dissociative state was when his ears folded down, his head still pressed into the dirt and a soft whimper escaping him.

“Damn it…”

“We’re here, big guy.”

“I did it again…”

“You kept Vanessa safe.” The canine didn’t raise his head from the ground, even when he felt Vanessa gingerly wrapping her arms around his large neck. His fur was sticky with blood, both his own and the noivern’s. Vanessa couldn’t help but flinch away from it.

He cringed from her touch as if he had been struck in the face, and he quickly turned his muzzle to look away from the two of them. His breathing had gotten ragged, his muzzle trembling as he fought to contain his overflowing frustration. “I tried not to. I didn’t want to…b-but he hurt her. I heard him hurt her, I s-saw her bleed, and…”

“He broke your collar,” Vanessa quickly interjected, reaching up to gently scratch behind one of his ears. “I was upset to-“

“I don’t care about that! I care about you!” He took her by surprise when he suddenly stumbled to his feet, nearly knocking her over as he took a few steps away from her. “It’s just a s-stupid collar…” The fire dog didn’t budge from his sitting position looking away from them, even when the faint sound of sirens began to reach their ears. “The only way I could protect you…was to do that…and I even fucked that up…”

“Vanessa, take him back to base and get him cleaned up, please.” She shot Vanessa a quick look and then her eyes narrowed as she looked to the noivern who had started to stir. “I need to have a talk with someone.” His twisted limbs and bloodied body alluded to his lack of mobility; it was going to take more than a visit to the pokemon center to heal what Tiberius had done to him.

Alice had already begun to walk away from the two of them, leaving no room for argument. The young officer approached her partner slowly, mindful of the way he held himself with utter disdain. She felt him flinch when she pressed a hand to his head and immediately sighed. “Let’s go…” The frown and conflicted look didn’t leave his muzzle; the canine seemed shaky, but still managed to hold up their weight when she climbed onto his back.

Alice hesitated at the broken-down fence, looking over her shoulder back at them as they ran back towards town. On the edge of the fence, just out of view of the pokemon and with the sirens still far out, she growled loudly. Her form shimmered and her illusion dropped, revealing a rage-stricken fox that approached the groaning noivern, her claws clicking as they ground together. With her uniform still on, she cut an imposing sight.

“Oh Arceus, do I even need to tell you how much you fucked up?” The defeated pokemon watched as she approached, his eyes flashing with anger and frustration each time he tried to push himself back up into a sitting position. “Alaric, the Winged Death. I gave up looking for you years ago…”

“My reputation proceeds me.” He hissed at her, but the uncertainty in his voice reflected his alarm at being called out like this. He didn’t know where this zoroark suddenly came from, but anyone that knew his name was a major threat. “Do I know you, sister? We are all children of Arceus…why do you wear the clothing of a human?”

The bat pokemon could barely raise his head to look at her, his eyes narrowing before the dark fox roughly grabbed him by the throat, cutting off any attempt to use a sound-based attack against her. His ears folded downwards, the look of confidence on his face entirely fading when one of Alice’s long claws hovered over his branded eye, his focus placed entirely on it. He coughed in exertion as he tried to get this out. “What have I done to deserve such brutality?”

“Don’t act innocent with me, I was at Lostlorn.” The calculating glance of the noivern made her smirk slightly, albeit overshadowed by her anger. “I thought you would be smart enough to stay in hiding after what I did to Cyrus and Hannibal.” Her voice was cold and void of compassion, her claw lowering closer to his branded eye. She ignored the rage that came across his face when she mentioned these pokemon’s names, a look of understanding coming over his face as his eyes locked to her hovering claw.

“You wanted to take my pet away from me; you terrified her and made her see her partner in a way she never should have.” Her breathing had picked up in pace, the sirens getting all the louder as her ears folded against her head. Civilized life had made her go soft, had prevented her from dealing with her anger in a matter befitting a dark type. “You hurt my pride. I told myself none of this would ever be personal…I was wrong.”

There was a reason dark type pokemon were considered more dangerous than other types, and she had no hesitance in proving it. “This is your pride, is it not?” Her claw pulled away from his eye only to dig into the skin of the brand, the pokemon hissing in pain as she drew a faint, pink line across it. “You mutilate yourselves to prove your loyalty. You’re just a fool like your friends.” Like Tiberius, feral animosity existed deep within her, an untapped source of anger and rage that she had tried to bring to the surface only in dire circumstances. “My old trainer used to tell me that an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind…” Since she had given up her life as a pokemon, she had only ever felt this way a handful of times.

The target of her anger, the pokemon that had done so much to hurt her charge in such a short period of time, fell silent as he lay below her. Alice could feel him tensing up, but in the end, a small smile broke out on his face. “Arcadia rises.”

Alice could feel the phantom pressure from her pokeball’s suppression field trying to prevent her from doing full damage. She had gotten used to the tug of it; it tried to divert attacks, prevent them from landing dead-on by pulling their moves to the side. In her career, she had felt it trying to stop her from dealing damage countless times. She had learned how to act independently of it. His screech of pain mixed with the cacophony of sirens that was heading in their direction when her claw descended with a strong, decisive strike.

When the containment team reached the substation, they would find Alice in human form leaning against the fence, arms crossed over her chest and an unreadable expression on her face. Behind her, rolling on the ground was the pokemon they came to contain, one hand clamped over its branded eye.

“Mistress will know what you did!” He screamed at her, making Alice roll her eyes in annoyance. The certainty in his voice was more than she had to deal with from the basic criminals she met on the street. It was all the same; empty, self-importance that insisted they were stronger than they actually were. “You will burn like all the rest!”

The brand, his sign of loyalty, had been disfigured with a long, singular slash across it. It ruined the symmetry of it, destroying his self-imposed display of faith.

Alice closed her eyes and took a deep breath to steady herself. “If you come near her again, I’ll make sure you go blind.” She had been so close to doing something she would have regretted; it had taken everything in her to allow the suppression field to guide her movements.

On her way out of the dismantled substation, she grabbed Vanessa’s discarded belt and weapon; after a moment of hesitation, she also grabbed the mangled remains of her collar as well. While the other officers began to prepare transport, she walked past them to where Markus was standing, the silent tauros looking down at his rider and dipping to one knee for her.

“Don’t look at me like that.” She said softly while clenching his reins tightly, the cold certainty that had overtaken her starting to give way to disgust in her own actions. It was so hard fighting her natural instincts, what she truly wanted to do to him. “I thought we’d never find another one of them. I should have taken the whole eye.” She squeezed her eyes tight when she heard Markus speak softly to her; in her experience, the bull always knew the right thing to say.

“You didn’t, though. Chloe would be proud of you for that...”

The ride back to base was excruciating. It reminded Vanessa of her walk to work with Alice that morning; trepidation silencing her and preventing her from saying a word to Tiberius. The arcanine clearly didn’t want to talk about it, either. He didn’t so much as look at her, nor did he try to hide his battle-worn body from anyone they passed on the street. The fight with the noivern had been grueling, but the max potion Vanessa had used on him was fulfilling its purpose quickly.

Vanessa heard him grunt when she jumped off his back at the entry gate to the training yard. The glance she spared in his direction showed her that his claws were digging into the concrete, tinted red like his teeth. When the gate swung open, he quickly trotted in, heading directly for the bathhouse situated on the edge of the stable. Unlike Caesar whose flames made it impossible to submerge him in water, the canine could stand it. His flank was twitching and rising in discomfort from the blood matting down his fur, his tail tucked tightly between his legs.

She cursed herself for being hesitant around him and wondered if her silence had made his attitude all the worse. To her relief, there were no other pokemon in the yard, Caesar included. The last thing either of them needed right now was a crowd of onlookers. She wanted to talk to the stallion, but right now the well-being of the big canine was the only thing on her mind.

The shower house was cramped and damp, a hint of mildew scent hanging in the air that always made her grimace. Tiberius had already headed towards one of the back stalls that were his favorite and was sitting on his haunches in front of it, looking away from her while he waited. Vanessa passed the basic hoses and showers towards the front; a typical cleaning session was never the arcanine’s first choice, he preferred the large tubs.

“Will you just…say something to me?” Tiberius’ voice held a sense of desperation and worry, the hint of a whimper hanging on it. “Fuck, call me a bad dog, tell me I’m a monster, just…just say something to me.” He tensed up noticeably when Vanessa stopped a few feet from him, his front paws pressing against the ground. “I just lived through the thing that scared me the most in my entire Arceus-damned life.”

Vanessa bit her lip, conflicting emotions running through her mind and her stomach twisting up. She could feel him tremble when she got down on her knees near him, her gaze softening as she looked up at him before she gently wrapped her arms around his neck. She could feel the muscles taut and firm under his skin, his entire body tensed up. This time she didn’t allow herself to flinch away. After a few moments of holding him, she could feel him release a shuddering breath, his whimpering growing even louder. “I would never say you’re a monster…”

“I thought I was getting better. I thought I got over that shit, but I just felt right back into it. I didn’t join the force to be a weapon…” He pulled away from her and walked through the dark tarp that hung over the entrance to the stall, leaving Vanessa kneeling on all fours. She could feel her uniform sticking to her, the damp, sticky sensation and the heady aroma of blood making her feel light-headed.

He was waiting for her when she came in, his front paws resting on the edge of the large, corrugated metal tub situated in the center of the room. A window hung high on one wall, casting the orange glow of the late afternoon sun in. Dust motes hung in the air, surrounding the canine in a radiant light that made him appear almost angelic in contrast to his bloody form.

“Do you know what he used to call it?” He demanded it of her, his chest rising and falling quickly while his tail began to flag higher. “Instinct. ‘Fall back on your instincts, you’re a canine, an alpha, show it.’” The way he said it, as well as the disdain in his voice, made her believe that he had heard this many times. “’ Don’t think, act. Obey your instincts.’” He snarled and slammed a paw against the edge of the tub, denting the metal inwards with a loud, grating noise. “Instinct is wanting to protect your mate. Instinct is wanting to fuck a bitch, claim territory, and raise pups. That is not instinct!”

Vanessa could see him flinch when she placed a hand on his shoulder, his ears quickly folding against his head. “Do you know…how much I talk you up to Alice?” When he didn’t react to this, she sighed and pressed it on. “She was so happy when I told her I wanted you as my partner and my mount. I was so happy when she said I could be your partner.” The large canine didn’t look at her, so she gently gestured to the tub in front of them. “Come on, big boy…let’s get you cleaned up.”

The tub was more than large enough for him with a spray hose hanging down directly in front of it and tap on the edge. With how dirty he was, she knew better than to start by filling up the tub and instead grabbed the hose. The sound of water ringing off metal was deafening, but she was grateful to see his orange pelt slowly being returned to its former luster. Only once she had gotten the coat of grime off did he look up at her; she never thought she’d be thankful for the odor of a wet canine.

“Everything just goes…blurry. Nothing makes sense…” His thick mane was matted to his form by the water, and she noticed the way he blushed when the look of amusement on her face became apparent. She had compared him to a drowned rattata the first night she washed him off, and he still hadn’t lived it down. “Most of the time I never realized what was going on until he screamed those commands at me…”

“I heard Alice saying them…” She brushed a hand against his muzzle and felt the way it quivered when their eyes met. Her heart was pounding a bit faster in her chest before she got to her feet and walked over to one of the cabinets hanging on the wall. “What did they mean?”

He watched her apprehensively as she dug through the cabinet and cringed when he saw her pulling out a disposable toothbrush and some pokemon teeth-cleaning solvent. “Just…basic stuff. Come, sit, heel. Anything you’d want a stupid dog to do…my trainer used German to make sure I only obeyed his commands.”

She nodded slowly and walked back up to him, sighing when she noticed the way he clamped his muzzle shut when she held up the toothbrush. “Come on, make this easy on me…you’re not getting any kisses from me until we clean your mouth out.”

Tiberius hesitated for a moment, the corners of his muzzle twitching for a moment. He had been vehemently against having his teeth cleaned a few days ago when she tried to do it for him, but the look of disgust on his face made her think he liked the taste in his mouth even less. “So…does that mean you would still want to be with me, even after today?”

The hurt in his eyes resonated with Vanessa and made her sigh. One of her hands moved to the dent he had left in the edge of the tub, her fingers slipping into the dip in the metal. “You said you were scared of showing that side to me, right?” When he nodded softly, she met his eyes once more and gave him a weak smile. “Do you know what scares me? Letting my friends down. Feeling like I don’t have a purpose; why do you think I became a cop? You…you saved me, Tiberius. I don’t think you realize that; I don’t know what in the hell he wanted to do with me, but…you put your body on the line to keep me safe.” She smiled at him reassuringly, “sorry, big boy. You’re stuck with me, no matter what.”

His bushy tail twitched and gave a small shift before he began to slowly wag it. His gaze softened for her before he slowly opened his mouth to show off his yellowed teeth. He flinched when he felt the bristles of the brush pressing against the inside of his mouth but obediently held still for her, no matter how much he might have wanted to fight against it.

Vanessa knew she should have been intimidated by his fangs, the memory of how they were bared at the noivern coming to mind. She knew she should have been concerned that having an unpredictable canine like him as a partner might lead to trouble down the line. His trainer had ditched him here for that very reason. Ultimately, she knew that she could never give Tiberius up, not after learning just how much he needed to have someone in his life he could trust.

The sour scent of dog breath faded away as she brushed along his teeth, allowing him the chance to spit out reddened, filthy suds every few moments before she dove back in. It was a lot of work, the canine clearly not used to this process and flinching and twitching whenever she was too rough with him. When she finally pulled away, his yellow teeth were rendered a dull white in coloration, much better looking than they had been before. The minty scent of the toothpaste was carried on his breath, and he already looked to be feeling better about himself.

“Heh, guess I don’t like having something in my mouth as much as you do…” The slight playfulness in his voice made her feel better and told her that the canine’s old personality was starting to resurface. With a loud grunt, he moved to lay on his side in the tub, his head resting on the edge while his nose twitched at the fresh scent that hit him. “Soooo…how about that kiss?”

Tiberius didn’t have to wait long for her to give him this reward for his hard work. She was more than willing to press her hand against his muzzle and direct his face upwards, their lips meeting in an unorthodox kiss. It only lasted for a few seconds before Vanessa pulled away; she glanced towards the tarp hanging over the entrance to the room before smiling down at him and winking. “Give me oneeee sec…I think you deserve more than just a kiss, don’t you?”

He looked up at her curiously when she moved to close the drain in the bottom of the tub before opening the tap, allowing hot water to begin flowing into the bottom of the basin. His tail quickly started to wag when she stepped up in front of him and began to undo the buttons on the front of her torn uniform. A look of unhappiness came over his face when he was reminded that she no longer wore his collar, but that didn’t stop his long tongue from falling from his mouth when she tossed the soiled shirt away to reveal the dark, purple bra she wore over her breasts. “Heh, do you really think we could get away with something in here? I might be a littttle tired, still…I don’t know if I can give you the hump my bitch deserves…”

“No one should be back for a few hours,” she enjoyed the relief in Tiberius’ eyes, the puppy-like attitude she had come to adore coming back to him. “After today I think we both need a bit of stress relief…” She moved closer to the tub while kicking off her shoes and socks. “And besides,” her eyes flashed at him, impish excitement in her eyes “I need to need to know I’m needed…it’s kind of exciting, don’t you think? That someone might come in and find us…me knotted to you. A bitch shouldn’t be ashamed for being seen filled with her mate’s cum, should she?”

His broad grin and the sound of his lewd panting made her snicker. She didn’t think he would be against the idea, after all, and she reached back to undo the hooks on the back of her bra. She wasn’t kidding when she said she needed stress relief. She didn’t want to see Tiberius as she had, she wanted to see him like this; a grinning, eager mutt who wanted nothing more than to leave her a quivering, sweating mess.

She had been happy to find her session with Caesar the day before hadn’t left her with any lasting effects. The unfounded fear that she might wake up to find herself still gaping from the stallion’s assault was just that. Her womanhood had recovered quickly, making Tiberius lick his lips when he saw the pink slit between her legs.

“I don’t think we should take our time…” He had already moved onto his back in the rising water, his fat, bulging sheath poking out just above it and the veiny red tip of his erection starting to poke free. “Do you think you’re okay with being on top? I want to see what you look like when that hungry cunt swallows my knot.”

Vanessa grinned as his dirty talk showered over her, urging her on more and more by the second. She reminded herself to thank Nikola for giving her the chance to ride a male; that experience was definitely going to make this all the better. “Oh, believe me, you’re not going to be disappointed…I hope.” Before stepping into the tub, she turned the tap off, leaving just enough water that the canine could rest in it. She was mindful of the translating bud in her ear, knowing that getting it wet would probably ruin it; she wanted to hear him, though, she wanted to know just how he felt through all of this.

Tiberius watched her stepping over the edge, his breathing starting to pick up in anticipation when she moved over top of him. He murred under his breath when her palms pressed flat against his broad chest, the canine’s eyes closing partially. His strong, front arms enveloped the woman, pulling her down closer to him suddenly; the bear hug was tight, the hint of need overshadowed by his joy to be holding her. “You…you promise you’re not upset with me, right?” His breathing picked up when he felt his sheath pressing between her legs, the heat of the human’s sex so much more tantalizing than the warm water surrounding him. “Caesar…Caesar and Alice aren’t the only ones that lo-…likes you, ya’ know?”

Vanessa’s response was to kiss him hard on the lips, her eyes closing while she wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders. She felt his hesitation beginning to fade as her tongue pressed against his lips, begging for entrance while her fingers dug into his soft mane. When he opened his mouth, she pushed her tongue against his own, the appealing cleanliness making her all the more willing to explore him. She did everything in her power to show him that she wanted him, the real him, not the farcical display of ‘instincts’ she had seen earlier.

Tiberius growled softly into her mouth and closed his eyes, his fat tongue easily capable of dominating her own simply staying planted in his mouth. His hips began to slowly rock upwards, grinding his fat tip between her cunny lips and exciting them both further. To his disappointment, he felt her keeping just out of reach of it, not allowing him to enter her yet but constantly teasing him. When they broke the kiss, a small trail of saliva connected their lips, and Tiberius’ heart thumped loudly when he saw her so willingly break the strand to lick it up.

“I want you.” She said this firmly, allowing no doubt to enter the canine’s mind. She growled at him, trying her best to think of how a female canine would act when they wanted to breed. “I need you, Tiberius. You’re stuck with me, just like Alice, just like Caesar. I want to show you that I don’t need to wear your collar to be your bitch.” Her nails dug deep into his fluffy fur to give her a good base to hold on to while she pressed down to allow his tip to jab against her entrance.

“Fuck, Vanessa.” The arcanine leaned his head back and let out a shuddering warble of need when she ground hard against his tip, teasing him and making his hips twitch from the urge to thrust upwards. The water swished around them as he adjusted himself to get more comfortable, his ears pressing against his head. “H-Here I thought you weren’t happy unless you were on bottom…”

She shot him a smirk and poked her tongue out at him teasingly, her face curling up in pleasure when his fat tip managed to wedge inside her needy entrance. Sex in water was completely different than anything else she had done, but when she felt the canine already beginning to throb in her she knew it was going to be fun. “Does this turn you on?” She leaned closer to him and pressed her nose gently against his cold, wet one, their eyes locked together. “Having your bitch on top? Wonder what Caesar would say…”

His eyes narrowed at her and she felt the rumble in his chest as he growled, his heavy paws clamping tighter around her but doing nothing to dissuade her movements. “Knowing you want me…that’s what turns me on. I don’t give a fuck how we do this...just that we’re doing it together.”

Vanessa hesitated but knew that she couldn’t draw this out any longer after hearing that. She groaned loudly when his hot, thick shaft began to sink into her, spreading her walls wide for the veiny cock. Watching the look on his face when her needy pussy spread for him made this position completely worth it. The big canine’s eyes fluttered, his muzzle twitched, and the low moan that hit her ears was all she needed to urge her on. “Yessss…” She hissed under her breath, savoring the feeling of having such a big manhood stretching her out.

Nikola just couldn’t compare to Tiberius. The smeargle had been fun to ride, but he was just a precursor to real satisfaction. She managed to take half of Tiberius’ fourteen-inch shaft before taking a moment to rest, her breathing coming out faster and matching the sound of the arcanine’s pants. She could feel it pressing against the front of her walls, already throbbing within her. The first day they had mated, she had remarked on just how it felt to have a powerful, feral beast on her back breeding her. Now she was getting the chance to show him just how much she needed him.

“You like that?” Tiberius leaned back to rest his large head on the side of the tub, the whimsical expression never leaving his muzzle as he watched her. “My bitch is so naughty, so insatiable…c-can’t get enough cock in her.” She felt him press upwards, trying to push more of himself in her, but immediately Vanessa rose up, keeping the same amount of fire-type cock in her.

“My alpha i-is one to talk.” She responded, tightening her grip on him and groaning from the feeling of his slick pre spreading along her walls. Vanessa bit down on her lip hard when he leaned forward and ran his long, slobbery tongue across her breasts, just barely missing her sensitive nipples. The tongue bath continued, his tongue swirling along her sensitive flesh and continually missing her nipples, making her growl in annoyance. To get back at him, she dropped down lower on him with a soft grunt, making the canine yelp from surprise. “You think I-I can’t tell just how much you want this? You love seeing me take your cock just as much as I love taking it…you try to put on a big show of being a dom, but you need me, don’t you?”

Tiberius’ ears flattened further, and he scoffed at her, trying not to let the blush show on his muzzle. She felt his wet tail tap against her leg, and he almost shrunk down when she planted a kiss on the edge of his muzzle, her eyes squeezing shut as she embraced the wet canine.

“That’s okay…I need you, too.”

Both of them groaned in satisfaction when Vanessa finally gave in to her desires and allowed the last of his shaft to sink into her. The powerful canine was holding himself back she could tell, whether it be from his exhaustion or his desire to be on the bottom was left for her to decide. She didn’t care, she wanted to dominate this beast for once; after seeing the other side of him there was a perverse pleasure in satisficing the cravings of a feral creature.

She could feel his knot already pressing out of his sheath and grinding against her entrance, the veiny orb teasing her constantly. The lead-up to this had gotten to be too much for her and she couldn’t stop herself. The sound of water swishing around filled the room when she raised up a few inches before dropping back down in his lap as hard as she could. There was noticeable resistance from the water, and it made her try all the harder to get him to bottom out in her.

Tiberius moaned for her while she worked him over, rewarding her with the sight of a pleasure-stricken canine that made her heart skip a beat. She was responsible for this, for his hot cock grinding on her inner walls, hitting all the right spots and quickly bringing her to the edge of pure euphoria. Her worries and fears were already forgotten, her doubts on her partner cast aside when she remembered just what he was truly like.

His paws hadn’t loosened their grip on her in the slightest, but they did nothing to impede her motions. She hissed under her breath when she felt his claws digging into her back and she tossed her head back to look up at the ceiling. The pain was noticeable, but it added a strange thrill, the knowledge that if he wanted to, he could really hurt her. The danger, the fear, the passion all blended together into a storm of emotions that clouded her mind and urged her on to go harder.

She felt his knot pounding against her entrance when he began to buck upwards to meet her descent, water splashing out of the side of the tub, displaced by their passionate emotions. “Fuck me, Tiberius!” She cried, her voice ringing off the concrete walls of the shower rooms; at that moment, she didn’t care if anyone heard her. Her complete lack of nuance and subtly triggered Tiberius’ desire to prove himself, and he snarled at her in a show of ferocity that sent shivers down her spine.

“You want that, bitch?” He demanded of her, his teeth bared at her, mere inches from her throat. “You want everyone to know what you are? Keep screaming for me, I don’t give a shit if anyone finds you tied to me.” His eyes screwed shut as the melodic sound of his bitch’s pleasure hit him like a ton of bricks. The tension had left his body quickly, and the sad undertones to his voice had already vanished.

If he had any doubts on whether Vanessa still cared for him, her boisterous announcement of submission to him cast them aside.

“I want you! I want your knot!” Her fingers trembled and released her grip on him as her dominant attitude began to fade away. She could feel his tip jabbing against her cervix, trying to gain entrance to her deepest depths. The soreness from yesterday was there, but it didn’t deter her from trying to take his entire shaft. These boys had done a good job training her body to accept a thick pokemon shaft and it wasn’t going to stop till there was no more for her to take. “I want all of you!”

Vanessa could feel the edge of her stamina approaching, but she did her best to make sure this ended the only way it possibly could. She squeezed her eyes shut and cried out for him when his veiny knot pushed into her with one last, desperate plunge of her hips. She could feel it pressing against her inner walls and she squeezed around it as tight as she could, making her arcanine lover howl in pleasure. The fat orb began to swell within her, trapping his tip in her womb, the prominent veins covering it grinding against her walls.

Her climax hit her when she felt the first jet of hot, canine sperm blasting into her, her entire body trembling with exertion before she simply fell against the big dog’s chest. Their mixed panting was all she could hear, her head pressed into the soft fur around his neck. His paws refused to relinquish her, keeping her pinned to his chest. Each throb of his cock was punctuated with a thick burst of semen, the familiar sensation of being filled like this bringing a silly grin to her face.

“Vanessa…”

“Yeah, big boy…?”

“I think I love you.”

Vanessa turned her head to look up into the eyes of the canine, seeing nothing but sincere embarrassment on his face. Her mind was cloudy from the pleasure, but she couldn’t help herself and giggled softly for him. “I love you too, partner…”

The arcanine’s ears perked up suddenly, and she blinked when she heard footsteps walking down the hallway towards them. Her heart skipped a beat and she gulped, suddenly made aware of just how loud she had been. Her fears diminished when she heard the familiar voice coming from the other side of the tarp over the door and she relaxed against Tiberius.

“It’s just me. I could hear you from the barn.” Alice poked her head through the tarp, her lips pursed together when she saw Tiberius laying on his back in the tub, his human mate tied to him. “I know you’re passionate, but you can’t go screaming like that.”

“S-Sorry, Alice…” Vanessa tried to sit up straighter as she began to approach the two of them, her face reddening further. She wasn’t used to being seen by her mistress like this, but she tried her best not to hide her body from her view. She knew that eventually, Alice would be present to see her take a cock this big. “We kind of…well,” she rolled her eyes at the accusatory look Tiberius gave her “I got a little overeager.”

“It’s okay. I’m just happy the two of you are in good spirits.” Alice placed her hands on the edge of the tub and looked down at them for a few moments. Her eyes drifted from Tiberius down to Vanessa’s plugged pussy, and she made both of them flinch when she reached into the water and pressed her fingers against the front of Vanessa’s bulging lips. “He’s bigger than I thought he’d be. Bet you feel so good, stuffed so full of dog cock…”

Tiberius became bashful when he felt his sergeant rubbing his sensitive knot, his hips wiggling around and causing it to tug on Vanessa’s entrance. “Nnngh…d-did everything, ugh, go okay?” His eyes fluttered when he felt the human on him squeezing up tighter, making his seed flow faster.

“As well as it could be. I need to go to my office and take care of some things…” The shy attitude of her subordinates was enough to bring a smile to her face, especially when he saw how red Vanessa’s face was getting. “After he’s done, clean up and come see me in my office, we have some stuff to talk about…try not to scream you’re his bitch when he pulls out, yeah?”

Vanessa nodded softly and buried her face in Tiberius’ fluffy fur, trying not to let Alice see just how embarrassed she was. That was how Alice left the two of them, wrapped up in each other’s arms and savoring the afterglow of a bonding session that cemented their trust in each other.

Alice didn’t push it, and the smile immediately faded from her face when she walked out of the shower house. After directing Markus to keep an eye on the two of them she began to make her way for the main building. Her thoughts were muddled and conflicted after the events of the day, so much so that she barely heard the secretary at the front desk calling out to her.

“Sergeant Wesk, you have a call on hold.” The man behind the desk was one of the older members of the force. He had a hard, stern face that made him seem all the harsher than he actually was; in truth, he was one of the rare men she actually trusted on the force. Unlike most of the officers, he willingly joined the mounted unit after a lifetime on the main force. “I told him that you were busy, but he insisted that he talk to you.”

Alice frowned and rolled her eyes in exasperation. She knew that the destruction to public property was going to bring the higher-ups down on her, but she had hoped she would at least have more time to prepare her report. “Thanks, Carson.” The older man simply nodded in confirmation and leaned back in his chair, looking down at the paperwork spilled out in front of him.

“I’m sorry I didn’t get out there with you. I couldn’t find Nero anywhere.” Carson’s mount was a sawsbuck, the youngest member of the mounted force and a notorious slacker. Whenever Carson was stuck playing desk jockey, he spent his time out of the compound and in the forest surrounding the city; what he did he had no idea, not that he questioned him too much. “I saw the pictures of the perp…I thought we took care of those guys. Their boss is still locked up, last I heard.”

Alice crossed her arms over her chest, looking up at him silently. She had tried not to think about it; it was one of the earliest missions of her career. When she was still a bright-eyed, naïve cadet that believed they could make a difference in the world. When she still acted like Vanessa and thought she could make a difference. “I want you to alert the others to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior.” She hesitated, before her eyes narrowed, tinges of pain hitting her when she dug her claws into her arm to try to keep her emotions in check.

“Call the detention center. Tell them I’m coming tomorrow. If they have a problem they can call me.”

The memories of the raid in Lostlorn, the final straw of patience for a group that had devolved into a cult of personality revolving around a man that proved himself to be unhinged and dangerous had all begun to resurface since she saw that damnable mark. Carson nodded and went back to work, leaving his sergeant to head to her office.

As soon as she stepped into the private room and closed the door, she dropped her illusion. Alice was good at handling stress, you had to be in order to be a police officer, but this was different. She headed for one of the filing cabinets in the corner and opened the bottom drawer, reaching into the very back to pull out a fat, manila folder that was almost overflowing with paperwork. The spine of it was creased over from being opened countless times in the past, but the layer of dust on it signaled how long it had been since it was last touched. The title listed it as ‘Arcadia’, the result of years of work that she didn’t remember fondly.

She sat down and was about to open it before she saw the red light on her phone. Carson’s mention that she had a call waiting for her made her sigh. Impatiently, she snatched the receiver and held it to her ear, curtly stating “Sergeant Wesk, Castelia City mounted police.”

“Alllllice. If it isn’t my favorite girl.” The voice was light and airy, masculine but doing nothing to cover the disrespectful tone. “Still playing dress-up? I thought they would have put someone else in charge by now; answers my next question, though.”

“Magnus.” She spat more than said his name, enraged when she heard the chuckle coming from the other end of the line. “What the fuck do you want.”

“Now, now. Is that any way to speak to an old friend? I was just wondering why in the hell I received a report that one of my old protégés was fucking up under your watch.” His amused tone didn’t lessen; it always infuriated Alice when he spoke to her like this. Her sharp claws had already dug into the wood of her desk, landing in the furrows she had created after years of taking her anger out on the inanimate object. “Who gave you permission to reinstate him? I said you could keep him around, but he was NOT to be an active officer again.”

“I don’t need permission. He is a member of my unit, he has a partner to look after him, and he is a grown dog.” She wanted to hang up on him, but she knew that would just lead to him calling back. Magnus was always like that, determined to get his way to the point of obsession. He hadn’t changed since their days in the training course and she didn’t miss talking to him in the least. “If that’s all, then you can shove off. I have work to do.”

“That’s cute. Do you really think you get to make that decision? I told you I didn’t want him making an ass of himself and making the entire police force look bad, myself included. I’m coming by in a few days; top brass says I get a final say whether he gets shipped out or not.”

Alice went silent and sat back in her seat, trying to determine who in the hell decided he could make this decision. They were the same rank in different units, so if anything she should have had the final say on this matter. It just made it all the worse when she heard that arrogant laugh of his.

He always acted like he knew something she didn’t. As if there were something he had done to get the upper hand on her and never gotten over it.

“Oh, and Alice? Practice smiling for me, would ya, like you use to for Chloe? I know you can do it; you’re so much prettier when you smile.”

That was the last of her patience. The mention of Chloe made her slam the phone back down, the sharp sound of cracking plastic filling her office. She looked down at the shattered remains of her phone and sighed, her ears tilting downwards in exasperation. She moved and rested her muzzle on her desk, her eyes landing on the sole personal effect she had in her workspace. It was a wooden picture frame, the centerpiece of which showed Alice – much younger and smiling brightly – with an arm wrapped around a shorter woman. They were both dressed in standard blue uniforms, the darker-skinned woman next to her smiling brightly and holding her fingers up behind Alice’s head to mimic her normal ears.

Alice grabbed the frame and looked over it like she normally did when she was upset. This was how she always remembered the Alolan woman that had left her; her long, dark hair, her deep tan, the blue eyes that reminded her of the ocean. Their time together had been brief, but it left the zoroark with a hole in her heart that she could never seem to fill, no matter how hard she tried. She tried to fight back the sadness that began to envelop her, and she was almost thankful to hear the knock on her door.

Vanessa stepped in uncertainly when her sergeant opened the door in her human form, looking stern as usual. She was still rather flustered after being found like that, but she shot Alice a nervous smile nonetheless when she walked past her. “Hey…uh…Tiberius is back in the barn. He passed out as soon as he hit his hay. Caesar was freaking out, but I told him I wanted to talk to you first…”

She didn’t exactly feel better when Alice simply nodded in agreement, walking back over to her desk and gesturing to the seat in front of her. The younger officer hesitated before moving towards the offered seat. “I wanted to say I’m…I’m sorry about this morning. I didn’t take you seriously when you were trying to protect me, and well…” The sight of the smashed phone piqued her curiosity, but she didn’t dare mention it right now.

“I’m not worried about that.” Alice’s eyes drifted to the folder in front of her, and she sighed to herself slowly. “I just…I’m glad nothing really bad happened to you.” Her expression softened when she saw Vanessa relax even slightly, and she gestured to the folder in front of her. “Vanessa, we need to have a talk…have you ever heard of Arcadia?” The confused expression on the younger woman’s face told her all she needed to know, and she sighed while opening the front of it.

The very first page held a picture of a man standing on top of a makeshift stage, surrounded by vegetation. He was tall and broad-shouldered, handsome with shaggy, brown hair that hung around his ears. His arms were raised up to his side in a passionate display of emotion, his open mouth suggesting that he was in the middle of saying something. On stage next to him was a houndoom, a solemn expression on its face and a missing bangle around one of its front arms. Vanessa need only look for a moment to see that the man was wearing it around his wrist; the thing that stood out the most about him, however, was the large, ‘A’ shaped brand below his right eye.

The next thing Alice pulled out was just below it, a picture of the same man, obviously taken a few years prior to the first one. It depicted him with a group of six pokemon, one that Vanessa recognized as a photoshoot that a pokemon league champion would receive. Three of the pokemon had large, red x’s drawn over them, while one was completely scribbled out to the point of being unrecognizable. The only ones not crossed off were the houndoom from the first picture and a familiar face.

Vanessa cringed when she recognized one of them, the large noivern from the day before, sans his brand. In the picture, he was grinning brightly in pride, but his smiling visage was obscured when Alice produced a marker and drew a similar ‘x’ over his face.

“One of Castelia’s forgotten children. Unova’s dirty little secret. Arcadia, a return to nature…we need to have a long talk, hon.”

“This was the scene on the outskirts of Castelia City today, where a rogue, wild pokemon targeted a member of the mounted patrol. Pokemon behavior scientists state that the suspect, a high-level noivern, may have been confused in its migration patterns and ended up outside Castelia, there was no reason-“

The television turned off with a swipe of the meowstic’s paw, her eyes narrowed in anger. The sight of her loyal lieutenant being shoved into the back of a patrol car, wing broken and marking disfigured filled her with rage. Not only because the humans had managed to capture one of her most loyal members, but because he had completely failed in his mission. She had already set a string of plans in motion to get rid of the arcanine that had bested him in combat; she didn’t want a wild card like that possibly ruining things.

She had already used her puppet in the police force to destroy pertinent information related to the group, but that wasn’t enough. His face had been shown on television, anyone that had any kind of encounter with Arcadia would know that they were active in the city. She told herself that it wouldn’t matter, and she knew ultimately it wouldn’t. He wasn’t essential to her plans, and this was more than acceptable losses. The only thing that worried her was the way his brand had been disfigured; she told herself it was just a coincidence, that she wasn’t going to have another problem like she did with Hannibal or Cyrus.

She sighed as she leaned further back in the expensive, leather chair, her eyes rolling upwards towards the ceiling. “Poor Icarus flew too close to the sun…did I say you could stop?” She hissed in rage, her venomous demand directed at the man crouched between her legs.

Angelo glared up at her as best he could, his mouth gleaming with the meowstic’s feminine juices. The handsome old man hadn’t this task, but he knew he didn’t have any choice, and another growl from the feline pokemon made his eyes lower. Only when she felt his tongue pressing back between her furry folds did she allow her attention to wane.

She had more important things to worry about then some trainer that got lucky. The power had gone out on this side of the city when the substation was damaged, and the sniveling fool Desmond had called to whine about his need for new parts to replace ones that had been damaged by the power surge. She still had assets located in the city and she knew she was going to need to call them in.

From her perch high above the city, she felt like a God, thinking this must be what Arceus felt like a top Sky Pillar. Having her own worshipper just made the fantasy feel all the more real.

The silence of the office at the top of the Salvator Stadium complimented her busy mind, the only sound being the occasional grunt or slurp of Angelo’s lips on her wet cunt. She could easily hold herself back from an early release, and the unenthusiastic human assisted with that.

A small, malevolent smile appeared on her face while she entertained so many ideas on how she could remove this troublesome burden. She wouldn’t be denied her satisfaction.
