Some werewolves smell an intruder in their territory and go investigate.

The trio of werewolves stalked towards the border of their territory. By the scent of blood and gnoll on the wind, something had encroached on their hunting grounds, and an invasion like that could not be allowed to continue. The great beasts trod quietly through the dense woods, the pack leader slightly in front of his two best males.

They came upon a small clearing, the scent of gnoll blood strong on the wind.

Ahead, under the moonlight, they could see the body of a gnoll. Snarling and approaching, they quickly discovered their quarry was dead. Blood oozed from its lips, while it's belly was strangely flat - as if it hasn't feasted in weeks.

"Something's... wrong" one of the beta pack-mates said, sniffing the winds sceptically.

"There's no wounds" the alpha said, prodding at the gnoll's body.

The third pack-mate, the youngest, stayed furthest from the gnoll. Hearing a noise above him, he looked up just in time to release a loud yelp as something fell from a tree and slammed him into the ground. The slimy mass quickly wrapped itself around him, binding his legs and keeping him pinned to the ground. His pack-mates bared their teeth and claws as they started barking and ran to assist their brother.

"AAGGH!" the downed wolf cried, pain flaring through his body as something tried to claw into his bellybutton. Soon, the other two wolves were clawing at the intruder. But their claws failed to draw blood. Whatever this monster was, its skin was thick!

A second monster fell from above, this one hitting the ground hard before bounding towards the two attacking werewolves. It was a much larger thing, a blunt snout visible on its wide head, four eyes flashing silvery in the moonlight. Two arms reached for the wolves, tackling them away from their brother. Despite the great strength of the werebeasts, they were toppled onto their backs.

The first wolf to fall was only able to twist and claw at his chest, the strange scaly mass stinging his belly as it worked its way inside. His breathing became more labored, his chest constricted until his head swam from lack of air. He could hear his brothers bark and snap at whatever was attacking them - but all he could see was the starry sky above. The stars slowly disappearing as his vision faded, unconsciousness overtaking his will to fight.

The alpha-wolf bit down on the beast attacking him, his teeth sinking deep into its flesh as a foul unknown taste filled his mouth. This... this thing was not of this forest. Not like any beast or creature he ever tasted. He bit harder, snarling aloud and jerking his head as hard as he could - but no blood came from the bite. He could hear his pack-mate beside him choking, and turned his head to see. A long tentacle was holding his jaws open while something entered his mouth and throat. The beta struggled, gagging on the fleshy tube that was working its way deeper inside him. The sight of his pack-members being attacked enraged the alpha even further, but there was still no breaking the tight grip of the monster. As he continued to fight, he felt the stabbing pain of one of the beast's hooked claws tearing into his navel. He gasped, feeling the tight muscles of his abs shredding as the claw tore open a large hole in his belly. It curled inside him, causing new levels of agony as his viscera were tugged and pulled out of his body. Another claw worked its way inside, another wave of burning torture as more guts were pulled out of his body through his navel. The strong wolf went limp, his body spasming again as the hooked claw tore through his diaphragm and into his chest cavity. Breathing became a new agonizing problem, his lungs unable to inflate properly. He let out one final stuttering howl, one final cry to warn the others - but it was quickly cut off as the invader in his chest tore through his lungs. He could just feel it coiling around his throbbing heart as his consciousness finally faded.

The beta-wolf also tied in the large beast's grasp could hear the deadly howl of his pack leader, as he gagged on the fleshy tube that worked its way down to his stomach. A burning pain was growing in his chest, the intruder breaking out of his stomach and continuing down the inside of his torso. He could feel the tentacle swell and pulse, and his belly ache and swell. He couldn't turn his head to look, the beast keeping him locked in place, but his abdominals were pulled tight - and then tighter still so they started to tear. The pain was immense, muscle and sinew splitting from the internal pressure of whatever the beast was pumping into his belly. The wolf struggled against the thing grappling him, beginning to whimper and cry from the pain. Time seemed to stretch out, every moment a fresh horror of distress. With a grotesque popping/tearing sound, the outer wall of his flesh gave way, guts and gore flowing out of his ruptured navel like a bloody water-balloon. The tube extracted itself from the destroyed predator, the beast unwinding itself from the two mortally wounded wolves. It walked over to the third wolf - the first one attacked - and bent down over the prone body. Examining the unconscious werewolf, it stroked along its torso. A moment later, it wandered back into the woods.

The youngest wolf woke up, coughing and struggling to gain his feet - only to find himself in a grassy clearing in the pre-dawn light. The scent of blood, gore and... and something else, were strong in the morning air. He could see the tracks his brothers had made with him, see the signs of fighting, the blood on the grass - but his eyes wandered over them without really caring. Two dead werewolves, and a dead gnoll. But his brain couldn't think about them much. His mind wouldn't let him dwell on it.

He scratched idly at his bellybutton, an odd ache remaining there. He was hungry, but his belly looked as if he'd feasted for hours. Food. He needed food. And company. Yes, company. He needed more wolves around him so he could - so he could -

He needed more.
