#15 of All They Knew

Skye and Ruki head toward Floaroama with Aaron and Sylmi.

Skye opened her eyes to a generous amount of sunlight seeping into the room through the curtained window, which wasn't a good sign. She quickly sat up and moved over to the edge of the bed where her backpack was. While being cautious not to wake Ruki sleeping beside her, Skye reached down to unzip her bag and sifted around for her thin wristwatch. She'd been using it to keep track of time along with clocks around Sinnoh, but Skye hadn't worn it recently since it had slipped off a few times within the last week. She didn't bother trying to find the reason at the time, but Skye assumed that it just needed a bit of readjustment. "Got it," she muttered once her hand brushed up against it, pulling the sleek watch out of her bag. "9:30? Shit..." Skye slid off of the bed and quickly entered the restroom. She grimaced while looking at her hair in the mirror. It was a tangled mess, and she had only thirty minutes to get ready. "I need to shower too... ugh," Skye grunted and turned to twist the shower's nozzle.

Ruki awakened as Skye entered her shower. He heard the rushing water behind the closed restroom door and sat up to yawn. The sun was shining outside, which led Ruki to believe he'd slept in. Skye would have woken him up, though, right? He'd just wait on the bed, maybe groom himself until she got out. There wasn't much else he could do.

Five minutes later, he heard the water turn off, and some minutes after that, the doorknob twisted, then he saw Skye exit the bathroom with a light blue towel wrapped around her body. Her hair looked perfect. It flowed down well and was neatly waved. Ruki also noticed that she looked stressed overall.

"Morning," Skye quickly said with a glance. "I can't believe I slept in today." She went and kneeled in front of her open backpack, taking out a pink bra, laced white panties, and opaque thigh-high white socks with a vibrant, cute pink velvet ribbon at the top of both, tossing all of it onto the bed. Without a thought, as she was rushing, Skye dropped her towel atop her backpack, revealing her body to Ruki.

He didn't take much notice, but her breasts were visible to him. They were perky and of substantial size, almost immaculately rounded, and he'd never seen them before today. Ruki looked away before she noticed him eyeing them.

"Okay..." she said, putting on her panties, socks, and clipping her bra behind her back. Afterward, Skye went over to the nightstand where she'd set her outfit last night. She unfolded her plaid shirt and slipped into it, buttoning it up accordingly. "And..." She grabbed her short shorts next, sliding them up her legs and wiggling her hips into them. Skye sighed and wiped down her shirt to straighten out any wrinkles. "How do I look?" She grinned at Ruki.

Perfect, Ruki's heart could burst from how tight his chest was right now. She looked stunning in that outfit.

"Oh, one more thing." Skye jogged to the restroom and fit her pink watch onto her right wrist. "Now, I'm ready." She sat down on the edge of the bed and emitted a tired exhale. Skye patted a spot next to her and watched Ruki pad over and sit. "I'm exhausted... and the day hasn't even started yet." She placed her right hand on Ruki's upper back while checking the time on her wrist. "9:55, come on, baby." Skye's hand slid off of him as she got up. She slipped into her white boots and went over to the door.

He followed her outside into the sunny courtyard and immediately saw Aaron and Sylmi standing idle by their suite. A few other trainers were out as well, some sunbathing or conversing by the pool on the west side of the courtyard. Ruki saw Aaron's cheeks flush upon seeing Skye. He couldn't blame him. He eyed Sylmi for a moment, and Sylmi curiously at Ruki. Ruki had no idea what that sylveon wanted from him.

"Hi," Skye said, grinning.

"Hi..." he replied with a more timid smile. Skye could tell how apprehensive he was. Aaron had on black jeans, a sporty black and white unzipped jacket over a red long-sleeved shirt, and black boots.

"You look great, Skye," he said. Skye looked a lot more than great, but saying anything else could be moving too quickly, not that this was a date.

"Thank you, looks like you're all dressed up too," she replied. "Floroama is a bit of walk, isn't it?" Skye caught a glimpse of the distance when she'd recently looked at her map.

"Four cities and a forest away to be exact," he replied.

"We should get going, then, hm?" She beckoned for Ruki to follow, starting the walk toward Route 13.

"So, what brought you to Sinnoh, anyway?" Aaron asked while strolling beside her.

"This'll sound underwhelming, but I felt drawn to it once I looked over its map. I looked at other regions, but this one stood out to me. Its cities and attractions, mainly," Skye explained, but she didn't want to talk about herself too much. They were nearing the lobby and almost out of the courtyard. "How about you? You said you come from Kalos often?"

Meanwhile, Ruki was trailing just slightly behind with Sylmi. He'd shot a few glances at the sylveon, but Ruki wasn't sure how to interact. Skye had never sheltered him, but she was all he ever genuinely cared about. That wasn't right, though. Ruki didn't want to come across as standoffish.

"I do, but I've been to plenty of regions with Sylmi. Out of all of them, Sinnoh is my favorite. The cities and environment here appeal to me the most," Aaron said.

"...And to think I've missed out on traveling for so many years. My parents were strict, and I would have been too anxious to venture out on my own, regardless. This is my first time away from home, and I love it so far."

Aaron looked over at her. "Well, maybe this is the start of something wonderful for you, then."

Skye subtly smiled. "Yeah, maybe it is."

--

They'd made their way through a serene, grassy Pastoria city that Skye and Ruki had passed through multiple times, and a much busier Hearthome City in an hour. They were now walking down the cycling road toward Eterna City. Cyclists passed them by often as they kept near the edge of the inner railing to avoid any accidents.

"I do want another pokémon one day. I caught Ruki as my first when I was twelve, and I don't know where I'd be without him. He helped me through my rough patches." Skye stretched her legs after every other step she took. She'd need a break soon.

"Having six trained pokémon is great, but having one or two to give all of your love and attention to is something else. I'm sure you two have an unbreakable bond, like Sylmi and me," said Aaron.

"Mhm, there's nothing more fulfilling than having one close companion to share a life with."

Ruki smiled inside while overhearing their conversation. He knew how Skye felt about him, but listening to her speak it into existence now and again never failed to warm his heart. He looked to his left and saw Sylmi glancing at him. Had Ruki been grinning on the outside without knowing so? Either way, he grinned at Sylmi, showing a bit of kindness to him. It was something Ruki hadn't given Sylmi since they'd first met, and Sylmi looked surprised to receive it.

"We just have two more places to get through, right? Eterna City and Forest?" Skye asked as they approached the end of the road.

"Yeah, but we can rest if you're tired. Eterna is a big city. It won't be a short walk," Aaron said out of courtesy.

"Sure, I just need to sit for a while. My legs are killing me. I'm sure Sylmi and Ruki need a break as well."

All four of them entered Eterna City after ten more minutes of sauntering along the hot road and sat on a gray bench. Aaron was enough inches away from Skye to give her space while Ruki sat directly between her legs on the ground below, watching trainers and pokémon he'd never seen before pass by.

Skye gently stroked the top of Ruki's head with her right hand while gazing around at the modern city and its glossy skyscrapers. "It's kind of like Hearthome here, but less homey and with more and bigger buildings," she said.

Aaron held Sylmi in his lap while looking over at her. "That's how most people see it. There's a lot more to do here. I still haven't explored all this city has to offer."

"Well, do you know of any good restaurants here?" she asked.

"Tons, why?" Aaron asked.

"Well, I didn't eat this morning." She looked down. "And neither did Ruki."

He tilted his head upward to look at Skye at the mention of his name.

She giggled, "you hungry?"

Ruki nodded; he was, especially after all of that walking.

"Oh, I know a few places close by I'd be glad to show you." Aaron stood up, setting Sylmi on the ground.

Skye followed, crossing stretching her legs again. "Lead us," she said and ventured deeper into the north part of the city beside him. "I'm going to assume everything is pricey here."

"It depends, really, but that won't matter today," he replied.

She smirked, "Mhm, since I'll be paying."

"Huh? No, I can for us both."

"You're already my tour guide. Let me contribute." Skye slightly smiled at him. She had more than enough money for it, and the end of she and Ruki's vacation was only two days away.

"All right, all right," he chuckled. Aaron wouldn't go back and forth with Skye, nor did he want to.

"Good," she smiled a bit more, mainly to herself. "So, what's Kalos like?" Skye questioned, strolling past people and busy stores. She kept an extra eye on Ruki to ensure he didn't wander and get lost. That would be a disaster in this city.

"A lot of its cities and towns are quiet, but we do have Lumiose. It's our massive central metropolis that's beautifully shaped like a spoked wheel. It's got tons of different shops and cafés lining its walkways," he told her.

"That sounds delightful to look at. Ever been to Alola?"

"That's a region I haven't been to yet. It's still on my list," Aaron replied.

"I recommend it. It's a tropical region, a ton of vivid nature, routes, and great pokémon to see. I live in Hau'oli, Alola's largest beachfront city, but it still doesn't hold a candle to cities like this."

Aaron glimpsed at her face from the corner of his eye, but it turned into a few quick, full glances moments later while she was focused on everything else around her, and then down to her swaying, delicate hand that he'd love to hold. Skye showed no particular signs of liking him, though, and even if she did, Skye would be gone in days.
