Chapter 03

(LUIZ)

We were seated under the afternoon sun, the wind refreshingly ruffling our furs, the birds happily singing around us, as our lips touched in a lovely kiss, and I can't remember being happier.

Until early that day I wasn't sure he felt the same, I was afraid of asking, of showing, of ruining our friendship. It all began a few years ago when I started noticing that females weren't the only thing that got me distracted.

It wasn't until early that year that it became clear to me that what I felt for my cute little hoary fox was far stronger than anything I ever felt from anyone else. That fluffy tail, those adorable pointy ears, those beautiful hazel eyes, the lean curves of his body, the way he smiles and talks... that wonderful shy little foxy. Throughout this time I had to be very careful to not get caught staring at him, and let me tell you, it was very challenging, very challenging indeed.

Something I noticed during those years is that he also got different, more reserved, more skittish, constantly avoiding eye and physical contact. He got quieter, especially when the guys started talking about girls and such, and I started to wonder what that meant.

Now I know, now it's clear, he was afraid of what he is, of what we are. When I caught him staring at me it was like seeing myself through a mirror, and I knew exactly what it meant, but he disappeared before I had a chance to talk with him.

I knew he was panicking, that he was terrified, and I had to find him, to talk with him, to tell him that he wasn't alone, that there wasn't anything to be afraid of, and above all, that I was there for him. When I finally caught up with him, he was already in the classroom, surrounded by students, so I had to wait.

Now here I'm, in this beautiful late afternoon with his warmth around my arms, his pleasant musky scent in my nostrils, our kiss becoming more passionate, more urgent, tongue against each other, eyes closed as electric jolts sparkled all over our bodies.

I moved a paw to the base of his ears, massaging it, and got a cute satisfying noise in response. My other paw traveled to his lower back, petting the area just above his frenetic tail, I had never seen it so active before. His paws were intertwined around the base of my tail, and my tail curled around his arms.

My paws moved to his lean rear, pulling him on top of me so we ended up lying atop the boulder. I could smell his excitement on the air, mixed in equal term with mine. I could also feel it rubbing against my lower belly, dampening it. I couldn't help but squeeze his butt cheeks, parting them and pressing him closer, my maleness grinding him, as damp and excited as his.

A gasp came from the hill path close by, so we opened our eyes, ears swiveling in that direction. Another noise came from there, a choking cry, and then the dwindling sound of hurried footsteps.

As we sat up, it became clear what had happened. Alice was hurrying away down the hill, paws in her eyes, tail dragging behind her, and I felt a pang in my heart. The poor girl didn't deserve this, I should have told her.

Lucas put a paw on my shoulder. “Hey, are you alright?"

Only then I noticed, my ears were flat against my head, and my tail curled against me. I looked at Lucas and said, “Yeah." But my lips were down, as were my whiskers.

“Maybe you should go talk with her." His lips were half down in concern.

“What about you?"

“Oh…" He removed his paw from my shoulder and looked down at his knees. “Don't worry about me, this wouldn't have worked anyway."

I reached for his paws, holding them against mine. “No, I didn't mean that. Of course, it's gonna work out." He looked back at me, half-smiling. I kissed his nose and said, “I mean… where are you going, it's already getting late."

“Oh… well." He puts a paw against the back of his head. “I could meet up with my dad at Joel's, he should be dropping there for groceries."

I squeezed his paws. “Hey, I still want you to stay the night."

He smiled shyly at me, and said softly “Okay."

“Okay then. I am going after Alice and I will meet up with you at Joel later, Okay?"

“Uh-huh."

I leaned over and kissed him and he flushed a bit, his ears flicking, still a bit shy about it, which was adorable. Soon after we were descending the hill together and going downtown, chatting idly about random things as we normally do, his tail adorably wagging all the way. We didn't hold hands or anything, he was still afraid about this whole thing and all, and I didn't want to make him uncomfortable.

We parted ways in the main boulevard with a friendly hug, me going to Alice's place, him to Joel's Grocery. I walked only a few meters before turning back to look at him, the sunset light against his tan fur, his fluffy tail lazily wagging over his lean butt. He turned his head at this moment, catching my gaze, and then just smiled and continued on his way.

Alice's place is a simple one floored beige house, with light brown roof tiles and square windows. A simple lawn surrounds the house, around it there is a roughcast wall. At the entrance side, the wall gets to waist-height, and it's topped by high beige metal fences.

I approached the entrance and rang the bell, and a few moments later Alice's mother came by. She looks just like her daughter, curvy with light yellow fur filled with small rosettes, in other words, beautiful. Unlike her fit daughter though, she has a bit of weight and is starting to display a bit of gray here and there.

Her golden yellow eyes look up at me, a good foot taller than her. With a saddened smile she said, “Hi Luiz." She looked back at the house, and then said, “I don't think that Alice is in a good mood right now." She turned her gaze back to me. “She locked herself in her room and wouldn't talk with me."

I looked sideways, fiddling a hind paw on the ground. “I thought I might come by, to apologize to her."

Mrs. Molina raised an eyebrow at that. “What happened?"

“I wasn't completely honest with her... but I didn't mean no harm, Missis, I just didn't know how to tell her."

“Tell her what?"

I still couldn't quite look Alice's mother in the eye as I said, “That I… huh…" I stroked a paw over my ear, flattening it. “Could I talk with her, Missis? I want to apologize."

Mrs. Molina looked at me for a few moments, then sighed and reached for the gate. “Alright, come in."

She guided me through the concrete pathway to the house, passing the green lawn with a few small trees here and there, the evening light casting shadows all over.

We got inside, and Mrs. Molina excused herself to the kitchen, saying she had to prepare dinner. So I was left alone in Alice's living room, a simple, but cozy, little room, filled with mid-century department store furniture.

I walked over to the hallway that led to Alice's room, and as I reached her door, I started hearing her sobbing cry on the other side. I waited there for a bit, trying to figure out what to say before I knocked on the door. “Leave me alone!" She snapped right back.

“It's me, Alice," I said softly.

After a few long moments, she replied sharply, “aren't you done toying with me yet?"

“I'm sorry, Alice…" I leaned over the door with my left arm. “Can I come in?"

“So what? So you can make me more miserable?" Her voice is cracking a bit, with anger and sadness.

“I'm really sorry, Alice… I just didn't want to make you sad, I didn't know how to tell you…"

“That you are a fucking faggot!?" She yelled back. “Don't you worry about that, you will never have to explain it to anyone else!"

I stood there paralyzed for a moment, processing what she just said. “What do you mean?" I said, without being able to keep the worried tone from my voice.

“I think you know exactly what I mean!" she replied meanly.

“Y-you can't," I said softly.

“Ohhh, but I can"

“You don't understand, Alice. Lucas isn't ready for that, he would be…"

“Too fucking bad! Now get the fuck out of my house."

“Alice, please, you can't…"

“GET OUT!" She yelled sharply back.

By now, Mrs. Molina was already in the hallway, looking concernedly back at me. I walked away from Alice's door, going down the hallway in the direction of her mother. My ears were down, my tail tightly curled around my waist as she walked me to the street.
