Danimus heads off to receive a Pokédex and make new friends

*LAST TIME: * Danimus and Hop had their first battle, which ended in victory for Danimus. However, when trying to rescue an wayward Wooloo, the group encountered a strange Pokémorph in the fog of the Slumbering Weald. With this strange encounter in their minds, Danimus and Hop continues on their path to become true trainers...

Following their adventure through the Slumbering Weald, everyone arrives back at Danimus’ home so he could speak with his mother, while Leon heads off to Wedgehurst.

Hop: Don’t forget to tell your mum we’re off to Wedgehurst now. She’ll go spare if you leave without a word. Even worse than Lee just did!

Danimus: Y-yeah… *images Mary staring down on him with both a flaming backdrop and flaming eyes*

Hop: Well, see ya when you’re done!

Danimus: Alright!

As Hop runs off, Danimus and Cinder heads inside to see Mary. They find her in the kitchen, looking like she’s preparing something.

Danimus: Hey, mom!

Mary: Oh, hello Danimus!

Cinder: Hello, Miss Mary.

Mary: Well now, isn’t Cinder just a sweetheart! And yes, I heard the news from young Leon. I’m glad someone bothered to tell me!

Danimus: hrk! S-sorry, mom.

Cinder: Yea, sorry.

Mary: Don’t worry, you two. I’m sure you lot had to do what you did to save that poor Wooloo. And besides, I’m just glad none of you were hurt, but try to stay out of trouble. Okay?

Danimus and Cinder: Okay.

Mary: You’re welcome. Anyway, off to Wedgehurst, aren’t you?

Danimus: Yep.

Mary: Then let’s see… *rummage through pockets* Ah! Here we are! *hands Danimus a few Poké dollars* A bit of pocket money for your journey. Buy yourself a little something at the Pokémon Center. Maybe some potions or something! Remember that Cinder will battle to the very end for you, so don’t you go pushing the poor dear too hard!

Danimus: I understand, mom.

Mary: And you, Cinder! Look after my little Danimus!

Danimus: *low mumble while blushing* Mom…

Cinder: I will!

Mary: Come home to rest anytime that you need. After all… east or west, home is best.

Danimus: We will. See you later, mom!

Mary: Good-bye, hun!

The duo steps outside and prepares to meet up with Hop.

Cinder: Hey, um, Danimus?

Danimus: Yes?

Cinder: Did you noticed a strange scent earlier?

Danimus: Mmmm… I don’t think so. What did it smell like?

Cinder: I’m not sure… It didn’t smell harmful, so I guess it’s fine.

Meanwhile, inside the house.

Mary: …*sighs* I’ve got to be more mindful of my surroundings. I can’t believe I almost masturbated making this dish. Still, this a very alluring recipe. Helen is truly a master of her craft.

Back outside, as Danimus and Cinder heads for Wedgehurst, they run into Hop.

Hop: Here we go! This is quite the big step, you know. My first step towards becoming the next Champion!

Danimus: *rolls eyes with mild amusement*

Hop: Guess I’ll probably train up Grookey a bit by having it battle against Pokémon in the tall grass. In the meantime, you should get yourself to the building with the purple roof and the great red & white ball mark out on front. That’s the Pokémorph Research Lab!

Danimus: Got it!

Hop: *runs off* I’ll catch up with you in a bit!

Danimus: Okay!

Cinder: Sure you don’t want to do some quick training along the way?

Danimus: Hmm… I want to, but I think it’s best for us to get our Pokédex first.

Cinder: I understand.

The duo prepares to head to Wedgehurst when they noticed a group of Wooloos sleeping nearby, blocking the route.

Danimus: Huh. Must have decided to nap here at some point.

Cinder: Well, I don’t want to wake these Wooloo up.

Danimus: Same. Guess we better take the long way around. On the bright side, we get to put in a bit of training.

Cinder: Yea!

With no better options, the duo decides to take the long way to Wedgehurst, occasionally battling wild Pokémon along the way. Unbeknownst to them, they were being watched by a small, fox-like Pokémon. By the time they had reached the Pokémorph Research Lab, Leon was there to greet them.

Leon: Well done, you guys! You reached the goal and managed to find the Pokémorph Research Lab! You did a far better that I did my first time. I’m hopeless with directions.

Danimus: Thanks. But honestly, You couldn’t have been that bad with directions, right?

Leon: Well…

Charizard: *gives a quiet snicker* That was an interesting experience.

<flashback>

Random guy: You came here from Postwik trying to get to the Pokémorph Research Lab in Wedgehurst? You’re off course by about 200 miles!

<flashback ends>

Leon: Umm… Anyway, see how your world has already grown, all thanks to having Pokémon with you? I know I’m sure glad I’ve got Charizard with me…

Charizard: *snickers a bit louder* Yea, to keep you from getting lost all the time! *starts laughing*

Leon: *glares at Charizard for a bit before resuming* Ahem! Now, in we go!

Danimus and Cinder: *slight confusion* R-right…

The group enters the lab to find walls lined with book filled shelves, exotic looking plants, and a small enclosure.

Leon: I’ve got to give it to Professor Magnolia. Everything in here looks fascinating…

Danimus: Yeah…

At that moment, a small bark was heard coming from in front of them. Approaching the group was a small, dog-like Pokémon with a large, yellow collar and a wagging tail shaped like a lightning bolt. The Pokémon was extremely excited to see Leon. As Leon goes to pet the Pokémon, a voice could be heard calling out to them.

???: What is it today, Leon?

The group looks up to see a young woman on the upper level. She was wearing a tan jacket, a teal undershirt, light blue pants, and teal shoes. Her hair, which is peach colored, is tied in a ponytail and she has aqua colored eyes.

???: Looking for info on another never-before-seen, super strong Pokémon? *sighs while traveling down the stairs* I wish you’d stop with these outlandish requests.

Leon: Good to see you, too, Yamper! *turns to Danimus* Yamper here is a real champ when it comes to helping you find your way around.

Charizard: Yep. He came to Leon’s rescue plenty of times back in the day, when he got lost on the road.

Leon: Oh yeah, and that’s his trainer, Sonia. What can I say about Sonia? Well, I like the way she cooks. She makes food you can gobble down in a flash.

Cinder: *sweatdrop* really?

Danimus: *sweatdrop* so much for fanfare.

Sonia: *Tsk* Really, Leon? What kind of an introduction is that? Did you forget we were rivals during our Gym Challenge? It wasn’t just Yamper helping you out. I did, too. *signs before turning to Danimus* Anyway, nice to meet you! Name’s Sonia. I’m the professor’s assistant.

Leon: This is Danimus. He’s a new Pokémon trainer. Set him on the right path, would you?

Leon then follows Yamper out the building, leaving Danimus and Cinder alone with Sonia.

Sonia: *sigh* What does he think I am? He’s always got his head in the clouds. It’s no wonder he gets lost all the time.

Danimus: Hehe…yeah. Anyway, I’m Danimus and this is my partner, Cinder.

Cinder: It’s a pleasure to meet you.

Sonia: Oh wow! Your Pokémon can already talk?

Danimus: Yep!

Sonia: But didn’t you meet just yesterday?

Cinder: Uh huh!

Sonia: Incredible. Hmm? *noticed Danimus’ phone* Oh. Looks like you’ve got a Rotom Phone. Hey there, Rotom!

Danimus’ phone suddenly flies into the air, startling Danimus and Cinder, as it floats in front of Sonia.

Sonia: Rotom Phones are handy little things, aren’t they?

Danimus: *calming down* Y-yeah. Especially since they also got a map and a navigation tool.

Sonia: That’s right, though with that said, Leon still gets lost, so…

Cinder: Wow. Leon’s sense of direction has been the main topic as of recently.

Sonia: Oh, sorry. So, tell me, do you know a lot about Pokémon?

Danimus: Honestly, not a whole lot, but I think that’s a good thing since it means I get learn more about every Pokémon I meet.

Sonia: Well said! In that case, I’ll make it so that you can use the Pokédex on your Rotom Phone!

Danimus: You can do that?

Sonia: Of course! Now, if I may borrow your Rotom Phone for a bit? *begins installing different software on the Rotom Phone before handing it back* Here you go!

Danimus: Already? Wow!

Sonia: Yep, but just so you know, that Pokédex is a gift from my gran, so could you let Gran know that you receive the Pokédex?

Danimus: Sure thing!

Sonia: Thanks! She lives in the house down along route 2.

Danimus: Got it.

With that, Danimus & Cinder steps out of the Research Lab, but as he does so, a man flags him down.

Man: Hey there, trainer!

Danimus: Huh?

Man: *approaching the duo* Sorry to stop you, but you just left the Pokémon Lab, right?

Danimus: Yes?

Man: So that means you’ve got a Pokédex, yeah?

Danimus: *slightly unnerved* Yeah…

Man: *noticed his tone* Oh, sorry. I love talking to new trainers and giving them useful stuff. Like this. *gives Danimus a small case*

Danimus: What is it?

Man: That’s a Pokémon Trainer Starter Kit. It contains Potions, Status Effect cures, and Pokéballs.

Danimus: Wow! Thanks!

Man: No problem! Keep in mind, however, that the starter kit only has the most basic items. So, if you want better items, like Super Potions, held items, and different types of Pokéballs, you’re gonna have to buy them at different marts across Galar whenever they’re available.

Danimus: Okay. I understand.

Man: *walks off* Oh, and by the way, your friend is waiting for you by the Pokémon Center.

Danimus: Got it.

Danimus then precedes to head to the Pokémon Center, where he finds Hop waiting for him.

Hop: Got your Pokédex from Sonia?

Danimus: Yep!

Hop: Then it’s time to meet lots of different Pokémon and start building up a strong team! But battling strong Pokémon in the wild can leave your team in a bad way. Not to mention what battling another trainer can do.

Danimus: I know. It’s a good thing we got Pokémon Centers!

Hop: Yep! Luckier yet, they’re dead easy to spot. They look the same wherever you go. Come on. Bet you’ve never been inside one!

The duo enters the nearby Pokémon Center, still unaware of the fox-like Pokémon watching them.

Hop: Level with me, Danimus. Is this your first time in a Pokémon Center?

Danimus: No, but I’ve only been here once to heal my mother’s Muchlax.

Hop: Then I don’t think you need me to tell you what you already know.

Red hair man: If you two kids are Pokémon trainers, you might want to buy some potions before you head out!

Hop: Cheers! I’m already good, though.

Danimus: Same here. But I will have Cinder healed up while we’re here.

Hop: And in the meantime, I’m heading to Route 2, Danimus! So come find me, maybe, when you’re done here!

Danimus: Roger that!

As Hops runs off, Danimus and Cinder heads for the main counter.

Nurse Joy: Hello, and welcome to the Pokémon Center. Would you like to rest your Pokémon?

Danimus: Yes, please, Nurse Joy.

Nurse Joy: I’ll take you Pokémon for a few seconds, then.

Danimus: *puts out Cinder’s Pokéball* Time to return to your Pokéball for a quick bit.

Nurse Joy: Actually, if your Pokémon prefers to stay out of its Pokéball, I can look it over as is.

Danimus: Really? Huh. Would you like that, Cinder?

Cinder: Yes, please. *hops onto the counter*

Nurse Joy: This will only take a few seconds.

A few seconds later.

Nurse Joy: Thank you for waiting! Cinder should be all better now!

Cinder: *jumps off counter* I feel good as new!

Danimus: Thanks, Nurse Joy!

Nurse Joy: You’re welcome! We hope to see you again!

The duo leaves the Pokémon Center and stops at a nearby vendor to buy some berries before meeting up with Hop.

Hop: Listen, Danimus. I’ve been thinking. If you’re a Pokémon trainer now, you must want to try your hand at the Gym Challenge, right?

Danimus: I believe I’ve already established my desire to join.

Hop: But the trick is that you’ve got to be endorsed if you want to take part.

Cinder: Endorsed?

Danimus: Yea. Galar is the only region I know that requires an endorsement to take part of its Pokémon league.

Hop: Yep. And Lee doesn’t think I’m up to snuff, so I’m thinking I ought to talk to the professor and see if she could help! The professor’s house is way down at the end of Route 2, so let’s head there…and give our teams the chance to train up a bit along the way!

Hop runs ahead, forcing Danimus and Cinder to try and keep up, with the fox-like Pokémon still following them.

Hop: Over here, Danimus!

Danimus: *walks over to Hop*

Hop: All right, Danimus? It’s time we filled in our teams a bit-

Leon: *appears from nowhere* And I’m here to teach you how!

Danimus: *startled* What the-?!

Hop: Lee?! Where’d you come from?

Leon: Every Pokémon has got a type or two, which can make it good against some opponents but poor against others. That’s the reason you’ll want to catch different Pokémon-to cover one another’s weaknesses.

Danimus: I understand, Leon.

Leon: Now, let see…Ah! There’s one!

Leon points to a small, blue & black bird Pokémon with red eyes causally hopping through the grass as it looks for its next meal. Curious about the Pokémon, Danimus whips out his Rotom Phone and activates the Pokédex.

Rotom Phone: Rookidee, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Flying type. It will bravely challenge any opponent, no matter how powerful. This Pokémon benefits from every battle-even a defeat increases its strength a bit.

Danimus: Wow.

Leon: I see you have a starter kit.

Danimus: Yeah. I got it after I’d received the Pokédex.

Leon: Then I guess you’re good on Pokéballs for a while. So, give it a whirl and have a Champion time.

Danimus: Got it!

Grabbing an empty Pokéball, Danimus quietly approach the Rookidee without alarming the bird Pokémon. Once close enough, Danimus readied his Pokéball.

Danimus: Okay! Go, Pokéball!

Danimus throws the Pokéball at the Rookidee, who reacted to slow to the oncoming Pokéball as it is swallowed up by the Pokéball. As the Pokéball lands, it begins bobbing for a few seconds before stopping, completing the capture.

Danimus: I caught it? …I caught it! My first catch!

Cinder: Yay! A new friend!

Hop: Good job, Danimus!

Leon: I agree. Of course, the Pokémon around here seem easy to catch. Almost like they’re itching to join some trainer’s team, wouldn’t you say?

Danimus: I guess so.

Leon: Of course, not every Pokémon will be so easy to catch. In most cases, you would have to battle them in order to weaken them, making them easier to catch. Status effects like paralyze and sleep can also work to your favor. And of course, like with Cinder, you can give them nicknames if you choose.

Danimus: Okay.

Leon: Remember, Pokémon grow stronger by actively battling, so take on the other trainers you meet along the way to help your Pokémon thrive. Your team will keep changing and growing as you get stronger together, no doubt, but even I don’t know exactly how yet! So, show your Champion something good, all right?

Everyone else: Yeah!

With that, Leon runs off to Professor Magnolia’s house.

Hop: All right! I’m gonna catch loads of Pokémon! The Professor will be shocked when sees!

Hops runs off, leaving Danimus and Cinder to their own devices.

Danimus: And there he goes.

Cinder: So, what kind of Pokémon you’re gonna catch?

Danimus: Given what we just learned, I guess we focus on versatility and work from there. *pulls out a Pokéball* Speaking of which…

Danimus tosses the Pokéball into the air, sending out the Rookidee he just caught.

Danimus: Sorry for tossing a Pokéball at you so suddenly, but I was eager to catch new Pokémon and become friends. So, if it’s okay with you, I’d like us to be good friends, okay?

Rookidee: *looks at Danimus and Cinder for a bit before chirping happily*

Cinder: Yay!

Danimus: Now let’s see…I’m gonna call you…Conner. How’s that?

Rookidee: *chirps happily*

Danimus: Conner it is, then!

Cinder: Welcome to the team, Conner! *stomach growls, causing her to blush*

Conner: *stomach growls*

Danimus: Haha! I guess your stomachs learned growl! *stomach growls*

Cinder: So did yours!

After laughing for a bit, Danimus pulled out his bag to grab the berries he had bought. But as he was handing them out, something rushes by in the blink of an eye, stealing the berries in the process.

Danimus: What the-?! What happened?

Cinder: Over there!

Cinder points to an orange-maroon fox-like Pokémon with black paws and ears, flecks of white around the face, and a long, black-tipped tail. In its mouth is the bag of berries Danimus had in his hands a few seconds ago.

Danimus: Who’s that Pokémon? *pulls out the Rotom Phone and activates the Pokédex*

Rotom Phone: Nickit, the Fox Pokémon. A Dark type. Aided by the soft pads on its feet, it silently raids the food stores of the Pokémon. It survives off its ill-gotten gains.

Cinder: And if it gets away, that’s exactly what it will do!

Danimus: Right! Conner, use peck!

Responding to Danimus’ command, Conner’s beak glows before charging at the Nickit. But the fox Pokémon merely jumps out of the way and runs the opposite direction

Danimus: Oh, no you don’t! Conner, use Quick Attack to cut it off!

Reacting quickly, Conner managed to out speed and block off the Nickit.

Danimus: Now use Pluck!

Conner’s beak glows as he goes to attack the Nickit. Despite the damage taken, the fox Pokémon looked eager to make its getaway, but at that moment, the Nickit noticed that the bag it was carrying is missing. After looking around for a bit, it finally noticed that Conner had swiped the berries back and handed it over to Danimus.

Danimus: Nice one, Conner!

Conner: *chirps happily*

Angered at the lost of its steal, the Nickit launched itself at high speed.

Danimus: Counter it with Quick Attack!

Conner speeds towards the Nickit, clashing with it a few times before the fox Pokémon begins wagging its tail at Conner, reducing his defense stats.

Cinder: What’s it doing?

Rotom Phone: Tail Whip is a non-damaging, normal type move that decreases the target’s defense stat.

Danimus: Well, two can play that game! Conner, use Leer!

Conner gives the Nickit a menacing look, causing it to stop wagging it tail and reduce its defense stat in return.

Danimus: Okay, Conner! Use Quick Attack!

Once more, Conner charges towards the Nickit at high speed. That’s when Nickit made its counterattack.

Nickit: …I have you now, sweetie!

Danimus: Wait, did…did that Nickit just speak? Oh no!

Using her tail, the Nickit strikes Conner 5 times, the final strike sends him crashing into Danimus’ arm.

Danimus: Oh, no! Conner! Are you okay?

Conner: *chirps weakly*

Danimus: You’ve done a good job, Conner. *pulls out Conner’s Pokéball* Return. *recalls Conner into his Pokéball* Looks like it’s up to you, Cinder!

Cinder: Got it! *jumps in front of the Nickit* So you could talk, after all, huh?

Nickit: That’s right, cutie. And as much as I love to stick around, I have dinner plans, so I’m gonna take those berries back.

Nickit begins rushing at Danimus and Cinder, intending to steal back the berries. But just as Nickit closed in on the duo, a wild Yamper appears and used Tackle on the wild fox Pokémon, sending her a few yards away.

Nickit: Ow…Bolt! It has been a while.

Bolt: Too long of a while. I’m here to stop you, Vixen!

With that, the two wild Pokémon clash in a fury of moves, leaving Danimus and Cinder to watch completely dumbfounded.

Danimus: …That Yamper…it spoke.

Cinder: …Uh huh.

Danimus: …And it knows that Nickit.

Cinder: …Uh huh.

Danimus: In barely 24 hours, we have witnessed some crazy stuff.

Cinder: Yep.

They continue to watch as Bolt and Vixen fight on until the dark type unleashed a series of Quick Attacks, rendering the dog Pokémon immobile as she continues to attack.

Cinder: *growls* That’s it! I can’t stand to see this anymore! I got to help out!

Danimus: Right! Cinder, use Tackle!

Cinder begins running towards the speeding Nickit, stopping her from dealing more damage to Bolt.

Vixen: How cute. The little bunny thinks she can tango with me. *starts speeding towards Cinder*

Danimus: Wait for it…wait for it…Now! Use Double Kick!

Just as the dark type closed in on Cinder, the little fire type unleashed 2 powerful kicks on Vixen, inflicting heavy damage and sending her back a few feet.

Cinder: *smirks* How’s that for a “cute, little bunny”?

Annoyed at Cinder’s remark, Vixen attempted to charge at her when suddenly, she felt a weakly charged tackle strike her at her side. Looking next to her, Vixen sees Bolt panting nearby as small charges of electricity sparks from his body.

Vixen: Bolt! *attempts to use Quick Attack but finds that her movements to be hampered* W-what’s happening…?

Bolt: I used Spark on you. Not a very powerful attack, but like most electric type moves, it has a chance of inflicting paralysis, slowing you down and impede your movements.

Cinder: It’s over!

Vixen: *angry* Not yet!

Using Quick Attack, Vixen got behind Cinder and lowered her defense stat with Tail Whip before doing the same to Bolt.

Danimus: Cinder! Use Ember!

Hearing the command, Cinder launched the fire type move at the dark type, who avoided the attack and attempted to strike back before the paralysis kicked in again, causing her to land near Cinder.

Danimus: Now use Double Kick!

Cinder managed to land the 1st kick, but Vixen managed to evade the 2nd kick and lands 4 Tail Slap attacks before Bolt used Bite on the fox Pokémon. Using her last strike, Vixen knocks the two Pokémon away, dealing considerable damage to them.

Danimus: …Man. Even paralyzed, that Nickit is still putting up a good fight. If this keeps up for much longer, she’ll just cause problems later. I need to end this now, but how? …wait!

<flashback>

Leon: In most cases, you would have to battle them in order to weaken them, making them easier to catch. Status effects like paralyze and sleep can also work to your favor.

<flashback ends>

Danimus: A weakened Pokémon inflicted with a status effect. That’s it! *pulls out an empty Pokéball*

Vixen: *uses Quick Attack* It’s over, cutie! *charges at the two Pokémon*

Danimus: It is for you! Go, Pokéball!

With that, Danimus threw an empty Pokéball at the dark-type Pokémon as she was mid-charge. With no chance to avoid it, Vixen was swallowed by the Pokéball as it landed on the ground near the downed duo. The Pokéball shakes for a bit before the capture is finally confirmed after which Danimus picks up the Pokéball and put it aside for the time being to check on the others.

Danimus: How are you guys doing?

Cinder: A bit sore, but I’ll be alright. Bolt could use some medical help, though.

Danimus: Let’s fix that, then.

Danimus precedes to heal the two Pokémon as well as Conner, bringing them back to full strength. After that, Danimus decides to release Vixen from her Pokéball to find her wheezing in exhaustion.

Vixen: *wheezing* …huh? What happened?

Danimus: Well, the long and short of it, I’ve caught you following a tough battle.

Vixen: *growls*

Danimus: I wouldn’t try if I were you. While you were in your Pokéball, I’ve healed the others, so they’re in top condition now.

The other Pokémon: *gives a battle-ready glare*

Vixen: *huffs in annoyance*

Danimus: So, I will ask this. Why did you try to steal from us?

Vixen: …why ask me? Bolt knows.

Danimus: Huh?

Cinder: *turns to bolt* Now that she mentioned it, it does sound like you know each other.

Bolt: …that’s because we used to share the same trainer.

Danimus & Cinder: Wait, really?!

Bolt: Uh huh. You see, we once belonged to a young trainer from Circhester. He wanted to become a Canine trainer.

Danimus: A Canine trainer?

Bolt: Yeah. Rather than focus on a Pokémon type, some trainers would focus on other factors, like different evolution lines and subspecies. In this case, our trainer wanted canine Pokémon. You know, dogs, wolves, and foxes.

Cinder: I get it.

Bolt: …but the thing is he was a selfish trainer, only looking for the strongest and rarest Pokémon he could find. Despite our best efforts, our trainer saw us as weak and got rid of the both of us.

Danimus: What?! You can’t be serious?!

Bolt: Sadly, that’s the case. We were forced to survive the best we could, but soon, Vixen decided to target young trainers who haven’t developed the strength, skills, or knowledge needed to fight her off. When I tried to stop her, she knocked me out while my guard was down. When I came to, she was gone, and I figured she was already targeting a new trainer by then. I searched the entire routes for her, but I wasn’t able to find her.

Cinder: …until she attacked us trying to steal our berries.

Vixen: That sounds about right.

Bolt: Vixen, we talked about this. We can’t target young and beginning trainers.

Vixen: Our former trainer was a young beginning trainer as well and look how he turned out! Name one trainer who cares for their Pokémon!

Cinder: Danimus is a caring trainer.

Vixen: And how do you figure that?

Cinder: He never forced me to battle, he never brought any harm to me, and above all, he seeks friends, not tools for battle.

Danimus: She’s right, and if you like, you could be our newest friend.

Vixen: Aren’t you planning on competing in the Gym Challenge?

Danimus: Yes, but that has very little influence on…wait…how’d you know I was planning on competing in the Gym Challenge?

Vixen: *looks away*…I was watching you until I found my opening.

Cinder: You was spying on us?

Vixen: “Spying” is a strong term, but yes, I was. I like to know what I’m plan on stealing before I make my move.

Danimus: If you plan on still having friends, you can’t be stealing from everybody.

Cinder: Yeah!

Vixen: *was in deep thoughts* …what do I gain from joining your team?

Danimus: Well, besides the obvious “never be alone again” trope, you don’t have to worry about your next meal.

Vixen: …Answer me this. Why did you bother to catch me?

Danimus: If I had allowed the fight to drag on, someone would’ve gotten seriously hurt.

Vixen: …I stay if Bolt joins as well. No sense in only keeping one of us.

Bolt: …Vixen

Danimus: Huh. Well, what do you say?

Bolt: …*sighs* Someone has to help keep Vixen in line, and I do miss being with a trainer.

With that, Danimus toss an empty Pokéball at Bolt, who eagerly allowed himself to be swallowed by the ball. After the catch was quickly confirmed, Danimus lets Bolt out of his Pokéball and heals Vixen.

Danimus: Welcome to the team, you two! Now before we head over to the Professor’s house, let’s eat!

The others: Yeah!

Danimus & Cinder has made 3 new friends, each will play important roles in Danimus’ career as a trainer. But their bonds will only continue to grow, as well as the number of friends they will make.

_ To be continued _

*NEXT TIME: * Danimus and Hop must try to convince Leon to endorse them for the Gym Challenge.
