Huena stared out at the setting sun. From the mountain peak, the circle of light was mostly obscured by the sea now, the visible arc descending as the earth turned away ever onward. The iguana sighed and turned away and back towards the hiking trail he'd taken to reach the apex.
The lizard looked up at the sky, allowing his walking stick to tap footing for him as he took in the vibrant violets of the sky opposite twilight, the stars starting to shimmer into prominence as atmospheric refraction dimmed away. His mind wandered.
Invariably, Huena thought about how most of his prospects on dating apps left annoying comments regarding his bottom situation. It seemed to the iguana that most on those services were just looking for something to bulge out briefs, and reptiles had a hard time of that in the first place. And he didn't even have a genital slit.
The path curving brought his attention back down to earth. The trail came around the corner of an outcropping on the mountain, revealing... an enormous serval.
Sprawled on an area of mountainside above the path of the trail ahead of the reptile laid Rien. Their foot was propped up on the protrusion of rocks that Huena just walked around, while their opposite leg stretched out and settled further down the slope, leaving enough room for plenty of people to walk between the thigh and the worn walkway for hikers.
Of course, this posture meant that the macro's bare pelvis was pointed directly at anyone who was hiking down from the summit.
Huena froze, staring. So shortly after his own self-conscious thoughts, someone so bold to be quite blatantly displaying their null patch, on such a scale. The iguana wondered if the macro knew there would be an audience or merely didn't care either way. The latter seemed more likely, judging from just how relaxed they were.
The serval's ears perked up upon hearing the light crunch of loose stones and earth from approaching footsteps, and they raised their head, gazing down over the length of their lithe torso towards the interloper. Rien smiled and raised a car-sized hand to beckon the lizard closer.
Slowly, the iguana made his way from by one of the macro's feet towards the midpoint between their spread thighs. "Uh... how long have you been there? I didn't see you on the way up..."
Rien bent their knee as their abs engaged beneath their fluffy fur and brought their torso away from the mountainside. Of course, this shifting of posture also meant that their flat bare fluff of a groin was angled down towards the reptile on the path. "Well, not that long, though I have been coming up here for a while, just spending the evening enjoying the twilight..."
Huena, for his part, was mostly distracted staring at the mixture of white and tan fluff that made up the space between the macro's thighs. He was wondering whether he really needed pants, at least, on warmer days. He had nothing to hide, but some people still... he shook his head to dismiss the thought, looking up at the macro's face again.
The serval smiled warmly. "Air's starting to get chilly... perhaps you'd like a warm spot to rest before you continue on?" Rien shifted their pelvis, clearing up some of the subtext of their offer.
Blushing deeply, the iguana gazed on at the macro's smiling face, then back down at that patch of fluff. He nodded, fidgeting with his walking stick. "Yes please..."
The immense feline scooped up the lizard with one hand, gently lifting him towards their body. Rien then leaned back into their reclining pose from before, easing the iguana into place on the center of their null patch.
Huena ended up facedown in the dense fluff, his weight bringing him down into it all the way to the flesh below, which was soft and yielding. The fur itself was silky and voluminous, though on a macro it appeared quite short and smooth, from afar. Thinking about the soft tissue and musculature padding his resting place, the reptile though about his own patch, the sensitive triangle of scales a bit squishy beneath his fingers as well each time he'd touched it.
Rien purred lightly. "So... how was your day, little one?"
The iguana felt the vibrations of the purr and the serval's speech through his impromptu mattress, blushing deeper beneath his facial scales. "It... It was good."
"That's good." The macro smiled, lowering one hand to lightly trail a pawpad along the fleshy spines that made up the reptile's 'hair'.
"I.... didn't realize just how tired hiking had made me." Huena said haltingly, relaxing under the surprisingly gentle stroking.
Rien smiled warmly, letting their head rest back. "You can stay as long as you need to."
"Thank you..." The iguana murmured, unsure if he was even loud enough to be heard. Huena shifted his body back and forth a bit, working his five limbs a bit deeper into the insulative warmth of the groin fluff. He wondered how long he could afford to stay, before it would be too late to get down to his parked car and start it up, and the whole drive home... But that was a problem for future Huena... he didn't want to move, just soaking up the warmth and thinking about the confidence the macro embodied...
The macro relaxed, their long tail draped down the hillside on the far side of their thigh. Rien's eyes turned back towards the deeper, darker sky as the light faded. They had plenty of warmth to afford a cold-blooded tiny friend as the chilly ocean breeze washed up and around the mountain.
