Bloodporn - Klara's Communion 1
Klara is a hunter. She has braved the depths of the Chalice Dungeons and has witnessed firsthand the nightmare that is Yharnam. And yet, her bloodlust cannot be quenched. When she finds a brand new chalice, it means that there are more beasts to slay and more power to gain, but will she find more than she is able?
This was an old old request I did back in the day. A user wanted art of their Bloodborne OC and I couldn't help but come up with a delightfully wicked tale of a hunter on the verge of some unknowable truth.
Klara's hunter's garb billows in the wind on the blood-red moon. Her eyes stare wildly down at the slain beast before her, skin and cloth drenched in the sweet-smelling blood. She draws her tongue along her lips as she sees the glowing prize hovering over her quarry's corpse.
With a swift catch, she grabs the small cup from the once mighty beast, her vast insight gained from the Great Ones' Knowledge tells her what this is, and her heart races with possibilities. A new chalice that would lead her far beneath Yharnam, or maybe even farther than Ailing Loran itself. The chalice looks nothing like any that she has gathered before, being tall and cylindrical, with a blossoming cup. She knows that she can provide for herself a description of the item she holds, but the thrill of the hunt courses through her veins, and she cannot fathom waiting a moment more to perform the ritual.
The doll had asked her if she had been alright. Of course she is! According to the tombstone, this Chalice is depth six, even deeper than the one that led her to Queen Yharnam! That means she will find more gemstones and she will hunt frightening foes, and, most importantly, she will collect all of that blood. Blood Echoes, cold blood, all of that blood is a treat fit for the ancients!
When she awakens from the dream, she finds herself in yet another chalice dungeon. The many square rooms are the same as they always are, and the beasts within find no time to waste fighting her. She transforms her Rakuyo, taking a blade in each hand and dashes forward. With a grin spared ear-to-ear, Klara slices through beast and kin, their blood splatting over her, bathing her in that delicious medium. She fires a shot into a particularly large foe, and as it staggers, she plunges her beast-like claw deep into its body, ripping free from it her treat until all that remains on this floor is a pile of corpses and a hunter, no a beast, stained crimson by the anointing of the hunt.
When she finally has a moment to think, she stops to look at some of the architecture of this latest room. Something about this dungeon is strange… while most dungeons are filled with gaping corridors and large looming openings, this one is tall, with towers that reach for the sky. Each of them must be a new depth to explore, and each must be teeming with beasts. She flicks the blood off of her blade and continues, eager for more.
When she finds the nightmare fog, she bravely steps through, only to be greeted by an old one the likes she had never seen before. This creature has a large, bulguing base made of two large mounds. Above those mounds, its tall, veiny neck looms up, and from the center of its bulbous head, a single, vertical-slitted eye stares down at her. It roars as the bulbs at its base rip apart, unleashing tendrils out at her.
Klara laughs and draws out the power of her Holy Moonlight Sword. “Come on, ya beast!" she growls. “I've killed nightmares worse than ya!"
She rushes forward, her teeth sharp and carnivorous as she gives off her roar, and she slashes at the monster, breaking off tendrils here and there, but more shoot out from its core to replace those lost.
While she focuses on taking out those strands, she doesn't realize that the monster slowly leads her toward a corner. Neither does she care. She switches back to her Rakuyo and hacks away, laughing louder than the howls of Micolash. This is where she belongs, bathed in blood and ripping beasts apart!
One of the tendrils whips at her with such speed that it cracks the air. She hops out of the way, but not enough to avoid the damage. All of a sudden, a chunk of her garb shatters into useless tatters, exposing flesh on her side and causing one of her breasts to spill out. She Doesn't let that get in the way and just runs forward, letting her own blood mingle with the beasts as she howls in her frenzy.
But she has become sloppy, and one of the tendrils coils around her right leg. It tugs back, knocking her onto the floor and hitting her chin.
Groaning, Klara rolls onto her back, staring up at the ceiling with the stars of the Cosmos in her eyes. Soon, though, her view is obscured by the Old One, its eye staring down at her with a glowing malice.
She readies herself to hop back up, but the large, club-like head smacks her down once more, causing her to fall flat against the ground, arms splayed out.
Coughing, the hunter finds herself unable to move. She's stunned from the hit, and in the time it takes for her to get feeling back in her arms and legs, the tendrils of the monster coil up her legs and up under her pants. Just like the superstition of the old old hunters, the kin's touch crawls up the right leg. It squeezes her skin, but as it brushes up against her, something in her body starts to burn.
