[b][u]An Interpretive Reward
For RayoElGatubelo

Ray was surprised to get a call from a legal firm. Most of his clientele as a translator came from city hall, or from the court system itself, rather than from individual law firms, but it still happened from time to time. Usually when a client was someone that the lawyers were trying to land for themselves while ambulance chasing, admittedly, but it happened. He’d been about to turn them down, not wanting to be involved in that, when he heard the client speaking in the background. He pressed his phone a little tighter to his ear, narrowing his eyes.
“What kind of translator did you say you needed?” he asked.
“Spanish, I think? She’s from Guatemala.”
“You sure?”
“That’s what her papers say. She’s trying to figure out something in regards to her immigration status, but we’re having some trouble talking with her directly.”
He listened carefully to whoever was talking in the background. She – and it was definitely a she – was rather emotional, but there was something to the way that she spoke that told him that she was tripping on this language almost as much as she would be in English. This wasn’t quite what the lawyers were thinking…and there was something to her accent that tweaked an old memory.
“I’ll be down in ten minutes.”
“Thanks. We appreciate it.”
“Appreciate my bank account, too.”
“We will, sir.”
He hung up, gathering his tie and a briefcase. Nothing in it, of course, but that was part and parcel with being a professional. Sometimes, the accessories were more important than what they did. People didn’t take you seriously without them.
He also grabbed an amulet that he normally didn’t take to work, one that consisted of a polished square with an eye set in the middle. If memory served, this would be a good way to confirm his suspicions.
#
The law offices were right downtown, not that far from the courthouse, and just across the street from a bail bond office. He ignored them all, going straight for the legal offices. The receptionist inside nodded him down the hall, muttering something about ‘room six’, and he made a beeline for it, adjusting the amulet over his tie. It had been bouncing with bruising force against his chest the whole way here, and he was about to see whether it had been worth it to bring it.
Ray opened the door without a knock, stepping inside. Two men in dark blue suits sat on one side of the table, and on the other side sat the client. She had the softer, rounder face of someone from northern Central America, and the long hair of someone that had been doing their best to let one feature take away from the long-suffering scars that had been built up from years of hard-living. He saw the slight wrinkles in her face that had been padded over by bits of make-up, saw the tightness of hard living and the sudden start of pudge in her frame that came from being somewhere that had cheap, decent food…
And he saw the way that her eyes immediately went to his amulet and widened slightly. The look of recognition in her eyes was just about what he expected, considering the accent that he had heard over the phone.
The lawyers missed it, one of them standing up and looking him in the eye.
“You would be the translator, then?” the white man asked.
“Yes, I would. Ray.”
“Stephen,” the lawyer said, shaking his head. “Ms. Waykan here has been trying to ask us questions for the last hour, and we’ve been getting nowhere.”
“No internal translators?” he asked.
“None that could quite make it out. I think that we’re better suited for the Spanish dialects that we get out of Mexico rather than anything further south.”
Or you’re asking the wrong questions with the wrong language. On a hunch, he cocked his head to the side, trying something different. An older language, one that hadn’t been spoken much since the Mayans.
“Can you understand me?” he asked.
“That is – do you understand me?” she asked, and he had to shift his expectations slightly. Not Dulce Mayan, but something close, a related dialect called Q’anjob’al. It was easy enough to shift his words to that, considering his past, and he nodded. She sagged in her chair in obvious relief. “Thank goodness.”
“What was that?” Stephen asked.
“Just finding the right dialect. I had an idea of what it might be on the phone, and that’s why I hurried down.”
“You picked it up from that?”
“I’m good at my job.”
Deflection, of course. Something that he had been ready for. Something that he had to keep quiet. They hadn’t realized the significance of this, and they weren’t about to be allowed to. He sat down in the chair that Stephen had vacated, getting a glance of confusion from both lawyers.
“I want to talk to my client,” Ray said.
“You – we’re the client,” Stephen said. “You’re translating for her, and that’s all.”
“I do better when I know what the client wants, first,” Ray said, going into professional mode, keeping his eyes on the woman across the table. “If I understand what she’s here for, I can fill in the blanks that come up a bit easier.”
“…Five minutes.”
Stephen waved at the other lawyer, and they left the room. Ray gave the room a once-over for any recording devices, found none, and turned his attention back to her.
“A long way from home, aren’t you?” he asked. “Why were you trying to talk in Spanish?”
“They don’t understand anything else. I thought, maybe…”
“It was rough.”
“I know, I know,” she said, shaking her head, covering her eyes for a moment. “But it was all I could think of. Nobody else was understanding me.”
“We’ll take care of that. And then…perhaps a chat? With someone that knows the old language?”
“…I’d like that.”
He smiled. It had been a very long time indeed since he’d had someone to speak to. It wasn’t the same language that he had grown up talking, chatting, commanding in, but it was close enough, and it already had his thoughts flying back in time. Not just to his childhood, but to a time long before the great clash of guns, when the forests were tall, when the stone temples still stood, and when the Mayans and those that wore the Eye were still at the top of the world.
“Let’s start with your name.”
#
Her name was Catalina Waykan, and she had moved north during the greater starvations that had wracked her home country. With the way that the world was, nowhere was particularly great to live, but she had a better chance of not starving to death by getting out of a country that was having less and less tolerance for the native population. Indigenous people were getting less and less treatment, and were more and more prejudiced against down there. Those that lived on the reservations in the northern countries weren’t well off, but they had more to their lives than those that were stuck on the borders of the rain forests.
She had come to the law offices to put in a request for her paperwork, wanting to know how far her legal immigration procedure had progressed, and wanted to know what else she needed to do. It was a simple request, but she had stumbled when she realized that the local offices didn’t have anyone that could speak her language. Her limited Spanish had made it more difficult to get her needs across, and she had hoped that the law offices would have had someone that would help her, stand up for her, advocate for her.
That had been a fool’s hope until he turned up, and she was grateful beyond words. Ray marked that and remembered it as he went to the lawyers after.
Stephen didn’t entirely believe him when he offered the explanation, but money was money, and all lawyers wanted that. When the white man took the transcript of the translation and went to check the system, Ray went back to the interview room, sitting down and getting comfortable. They continued to chat while the lawyers did what they did.
“I assume that you were from somewhere further south of the old empire?” he asked.
“Yes. Quite a bit, though…heh…I still remember it.” She smiled. “It’s been a long time.”
He imagined that it had. If she could remember the empire, that placed her at hundreds of years old. Possibly older than him (though likely not by much, if at all), though she didn’t look it. There was only one thing that allowed someone to live that long, and that would mean that she was a were, the same as him.
But what kind of were, he wondered, and from how far back?
Despite his curiosity, he didn’t ask. Partially, it was from being in a law office where there might still be someone that could be recording what they were saying, but partially it was just rudeness. He didn’t want to push her away, not when she was just starting to show some gratitude for what he was doing, for what he understood. And he didn’t want to lose connection with someone else that remembered those old days, old ways.
It had been far too long since he’d had someone to talk to about that…
“But you carry the Eye,” Catalina said, nodding at his chest. “You must remember it well, yourself.”
“I do…”
“Were you there, at the end?” she asked.
“…I was.” Ray shook his head. “It…wasn’t good.”
“I only heard about it afterward. The blazing fires of the temples…”
“They came, and they took.” Ray shook his head, blotting out the memories of the time. “I don’t want to talk about that.”
“Nor do I,” she admitted. “But you were…”
“I was…relatively high-ranking at the time. I was not born into it, but I was brought up with it.”
“Heh…while I was born after it had passed, when they didn’t care for us nearly as much as they used to.”
Ray imagined how that would have been, what it would have felt like if he had been raised in a culture that didn’t look at the werejaguars as gods, if they had seen him as a monster rather than something powerful and worthy of worship. He imagined that it would have screwed with his head pretty hard, if not left him completely messed up.
Well, more messed up. Therapy had been something he hadn’t entirely known he’d needed until he started going. But he was doing better than some of the weres he found that came from that old time.
Of course, knowing that she came from just after confirmed that she was younger than him, but again, didn’t tell him what she was. All he knew was that she had lived through some serious shit, just as he had done, and there was no way that she would ever be able to forget it. It said a lot about her that she had made the move from Guatemala to here, and she was still pushing herself to do more. It said a lot about her that she was that dedicated, and he wished her the best of it.
And at the same time, some old part of him that he had been trying to keep buried was looking at her and remembering what the old days were like. What it had been like to be a prince, to have the power to rule over others, to take what he wanted and –
No, no…
Ray flexed his hand much the way that he might have done as a nervous cat, feeling claws that weren’t there trying to flex as he pulled himself back from those fantasies. He was better than that.
But she still noticed. Catalina arched an eyebrow, reaching across the table to take his hand.
“What’s wrong?”
“Just…remembering. Some good things, some bad.”
“When you were in the Empire?”
“When I had power…to take, mostly.”
“I’m sure you gave, as well.” She smiled. “You would not be here if you didn’t do something good, back then.”
He smiled ruefully, thinking back to all the things he most definitely had done, but not for others. Always for himself. Raised as a godling, you learned that there was very little that you could not have, and if someone said no, you could always take it anyway. That had been the way for him and his family at the top of the empire, and how easy it had been back then.
Not these days.
Not anymore.
Stephen returned at that point, tapping on the door with slightly more respect than before. Ray turned.
“Find her paperwork?” he asked.
“Yes, actually.”
“And?”
“She’s well on her way to being a proper citizen.”
Taking the offered bundle of papers, Ray glanced through it. He was no immigration lawyer, but from what little he did recognize, the papers were official. Rubber-stamped and everything. He passed them over the table, pointing at them.
“They’ve got your papers. It looks like you’re three months from getting your citizenship.”
“Then it’s all going on schedule?”
“Yes.”
“Thank Bast…”
Bast. A feline, then. Not bad. Not bad at all.
His attention wandered back to her face, taking in the softness, the darker skin than he usually saw around his day to day life, the nice reminders of home and the people that had worked in the old times. He remembered them, remembered their hair falling over their back as they –
He forced his mind back out of the gutter, offering his hand. She took it.
“Excuse me. We still need to bill for this,” Stephen said.
“Take it out of my paycheck,” Ray said.
“You sure about that?”
“Yep.”
“Well…fair enough then.”
He’d seen what Catalina had come in with. She was not dressed well, or likely doing that well in her day to day life. Lawyer fees would ruin her, and that would only make it that much harder for her to get through this nightmare of a process. He led her out of the office, made his way down to street level –
And just as he was about to say goodbye, she squeezed his hand. He blinked, looking back at her.
“You helped me. Let me help you.”
“There’s nothing that you can help with.”
“There’s always something that a woman can help a man with.”
His eyes widened slightly, and she leaned in, kissing him on the cheek. This was…definitely not the sort of reward that he had imagined coming his way, not when he had been fighting so hard to keep from thinking about just taking that.
“My car’s this way.”
“Car?”
“Yes, then my apartment.”
“Apartment.”
“Heh…just trust me, Ray. I will take care of you.”
She would have to. Right at that moment, he was no good at taking care of himself. His brain felt like it was frying away in the impossibility of the situation.
#
They reached the apartment building not long after, and he was still in a daze as she led him up the stairs. He had just enough self-awareness to notice that the stairs were dirty, the windows smeared, the whole place looking a little run-down, but not to the point of falling apart. The apartment block probably needed a renovation, but it would survive without it for a few more decades before it completely collapsed.
Probably where the immigrants came, a place where the questions were few and the rent exorbitant but still low compared to the rest of the city. No place for the high-rollers, but a good place for those that needed to wait out the clock.
He made a mental note of it, and then they were in her apartment. A flash of green, yellow, even blue went by as he was led from room to room before they entered the bedroom. She gently closed the door behind her with a soft click, guiding him to the bed. She was just starting to help him out of his clothes when he finally snapped back to reality, grabbing her hands.
“Wait.”
“What? What’s the matter?” she asked.
“I want…I don’t want it to be all me.”
That was one way to put it. More accurately, he didn’t want it to be all him, and then giving in to the urge to just take her. The temptation to be her prince for the day, to remember all the fun that he had had in the old times, was almost overwhelming. This…this was not what he wanted to be, though.
Not anymore.
“Let’s be equal…let’s change.”
“…You want to do it the old way, then?” Catalina teased. “I can go with that…”
They both stripped, quickly and efficiently. To change with clothes on was an erotic experience, to be sure, but at the same time, it was a good way to lose some expensive apparel. She clearly couldn’t afford to lose much, and his suit had cost him a goodly sum of money. He wasn’t going to waste that for a show.
When they were completely naked, he felt a little…ill at ease. She was, after all, a lovely physical specimen, a woman that had curves in all the right places, some obviously a little new with the better diet that she’d gotten living away from a country that was trying to kill her. Her skin was soft, smooth, and there was a sheen of nervous sweat here and there that reflected the over-bright light overhead.
With him…well, he had never been entirely happy with his human form. He didn’t look bad, and he had gotten himself in better shape of late, with firm abs and a strong pair of arms. However, between his legs was something that belied his former station in life. No prince should have been caught dead with something so small down there, and his cheeks burned as she looked down at him.
She didn’t laugh, didn’t even smile. She just nodded, understanding, knowing that it was going to change.
Four inches…four inches wouldn’t be nearly enough for you…but this will be.
They met each other’s eyes, nodded, and groaned as the changes hit them both at the same time.
Ray felt the crick-crack-crick of his spine popping, extending, stretching. They both stumbled, him backwards to lean against the bed, her sideways towards the wall as she almost punched it grabbing for support. As always, black fur started to sprout along his shoulders and throat, running along his back, over his neck, up towards his face and down towards his chest like a flood of furry shadow across his body. It was as familiar and itchy as ever, and it brought muscle and thick cords of power in its wake.
For her, however, she had a different coat, one that was a mix of yellow-green, white, and black. It was the traditional colors of a jaguar, and he would have beamed if it wasn’t for the sake of the crick-crack-snap-pops that were going through his body, distracting him. The fact that he was getting to spend this afternoon with a werejaguar after so long making do with others –
There was nothing wrong with other weres. They were all fine. All equal.
Didn’t mean that he didn’t have a preference, though, and she was meeting those. He watched her with fascination, feeling the tingling, heated itch as the fur spread further across his body, running down his spine as he continued to grow. Thicker arms, broader shoulders, more powerful chest, those were all normal, all things that he was used to. The feeling of his fingers curling, the way that his hands turned into some cross between bestial paws and his human digits, that was normal, but more distinct, more interesting. The pulling at his fingers as they fattened and became slightly more stubby, the sharp feeling of his claws pushing free: that held his attention for a moment.
Not for long, though, not when Catalina was transforming on the other side of the room. She grew with him, growing taller and a little bit wider, though more in the hips and chest than in the shoulders and limbs. Unlike him, she took on more of the lithe aspects of the feline rather than the hunting muscles. She remained slender in places that required it, thickened up in the more fertile areas. His cock jumped between his legs as her hips flared out that little bit more, as her breasts – formerly slightly small from her meager diet – began to fill out, lifting up, the power of the were-form slowly making them perk up almost like a younger woman’s would have done.
It was a view that he hadn’t had for so long, and he growled under his breath. He felt his muzzle stretching forward, his ears rolling up, and saw the same happening with her. They were transforming almost in sync, with their spines popping, their bodies extending, both of them thankful for the hunch that came almost naturally to keep their heads from hitting the ceiling.
As they watched each other, both of them feeling their tails slithering free as they continued their transformation, Ray felt the transformation hit his crotch. He groaned, spreading his legs just enough to show off what was happening down there, knowing that he loved to see this happen and that others did the same. Catalina smiled, leaning back with her own legs spread as the fur reached down to her sex. She didn’t warp, but rather inflamed, getting thicker, a little puffier down there like a female in heat.
He, on the other hand, started taking on more of the bestial traits. His cock pulled back, just a little, sliding into a tube of fur and flesh that grew around the base, running up towards his foreskin. For a moment, the flesh completely swallowed his shaft, but that was only momentary, followed by hard clench that surrounded his cock completely. He groaned, his toes curling even as his heels started rising from the ground, and he panted as he felt the pressure on his shaft increasing, growing, feeling little nodules growing from the head of his shaft and pressing into the flesh around it.
“Show me…show me,” Catalina whispered.
Well, if she wanted to see, she was going to see. And very, very soon, for that matter, as his cock started rising on its own volition.
Despite himself, he felt a bit of princely pride as his shaft rose from his sheath. The tip was lined with just-visible barbs, the reddened flesh pulsing as he stroked just under the head. Four inches emerged, then more, and more, and more besides, slowly spilling free until the full ten inches were on display. Catalina’s smile only grew as it did, and she slowly swayed toward him, her ankles and heels cracking as they were pulled up as his were.
As their fur spread down their legs, as their toes popped and fattened into clawed were digits, they reached out to one another. He took her hands, she took his, and they stumbled backwards towards the bed once more. They pressed together, fur and flesh grinding on one another already. Their muzzles, gradually grinding out groans and gasps from the pair of them as they emerged, pressed together. They tasted tongue and fang, blood occasionally passing as they pricked their tongues on each others’ changing teeth.
As they finally finished their transformation, they broke apart, their muzzles inches from each other.
“How –”
“However you like,” Catalina said with a smile. “This is safe for me. We can enjoy whatever you like.”
“You sure?”
“I always wondered what it would be like with another that had been through it. I want to know…”
Her fingers went down between his legs, snaring his cock and pulling it up. She rolled her hips back, and he groaned at the wetness that found his shaft, that teased it and encouraged it to keep rising.
“I want to know what you will feel like.”
“Then…find out.”
The other were straddled him, her pussy rubbing against him, pinning his shaft between her and the fur that covered his belly. He groaned under his breath, not having had the pleasure of a woman this willing for some time. Oh, the others had been very willing in their own way, but this…this was gratitude, something that wanted to make him feel good, not just someone that had been consumed enough with heat to throw their concerns to the wind.
She slid forward, her breasts almost over his face, and she slid her sex right to the tip of his cock. She moaned for him, whether for the barbs or for his pleasure, he didn’t know, but either way, it felt amazing. He groaned, gritting his teeth, feeling the urge to just grab her and rut her like he had done to so many others, but…
But he didn’t. This was a way for the prince in him to be satisfied, to enjoy this sort of worship, this friendliness, this gratitude. She was thanking him, and he would let her thank him her way.
She slid right to the tip, and then – with some trick of her hips – pushed back. Ray groaned as the shift pulled his cock right into her, feeling her tight inner walls gripping him from all sides almost immediately. For all her experience, Catalina gasped, moaning under her breath, shivering as she had to grip the sheets over him.
“Mmmph…bigger than…than you look,” she whispered.
“Heh…can you take it?”
“I can. Can you take me?”
“I bet I can take you longer than you can take me.”
“Let’s find out.”
She started pushing back further, and then a bit further still, taking her time to work his barbed cock deeper into her body. Little by little, she worked it into her depths, taking him all the way to the base, but he could feel how tight and tense she was by the time that she bottomed out on him. He was all the way inside, his barbs stroking her inner walls, teasing her, giving her everything that she wanted from another cat.
And she was close. She was very close, already, and that only fed his ego that much more. He smiled up at her, showing his fangs, and she smiled down at him as she sat up properly, resting her hands on his thighs as she ground down on the base of his cock.
“Mmmph…ready for your thanks?” she asked.
“Very…very ready.”
“Then let…let me show you…my gratitude.”
For all that her first bounce was shaky, it felt amazing. She was so tight, so out of practice with other weres, that he could feel every inch of his cock sliding out of her, every bit of his shaft pulling free before she slammed herself back down. The squelch that followed was as wet and wild as anything from the heated bitches that he had fucked in the last few years, and better than most of them.
Up, down, up, down, feeling her slamming home every time and feeling his cock making her pussy into its new perfect plaything. She was slowly loosening up, gradually getting used to him, and that meant that her pussy was shaped perfectly for his cock.
They growled and yowled as she bounced up and down, slowly increasing her pace and taking him harder, faster. Her breasts bounced, smacking down against her chest every time that she came back down, and she spasmed around him in less than a minute. Despite cumming, she didn’t stop riding him, and that only made it better.
For the first time in a long time, Ray was able to lay back and just enjoy the ‘service’ of someone else, someone that came to him with this way of thanking him, someone that was getting off on it, someone that liked giving him this old style of respect. Her claws dug into his legs from time to time, but that only made it better, in some ways. She wanted him, and didn’t want to let him go.
In, out, in, out, and he had the perfect view of her pussy swallowing his cock again and again, her riding motions bringing her crashing down, splashing against his crotch, leaving his cock soaked to the skin with her juices. They shimmered down there, wet and wild and perfect.
Up, down, up, down, each time going that little bit faster until she was little more than a blur, her body taking him, her pussy squelching. She squeezed down with another yowl, a second orgasm, and he could feel his pleasure rising. Tingling warmth ran up his cock, his balls rising, the smell of horny female feline tingling in his nose.
“Mmmph…”
“Fill me….fill me!” she begged.
Ray gripped the sheets, feeling her leaning forward, resting her hands on his chest. She bucked her hips back, taking him up to the hilt again, and with a roar, he slammed his hips up. She arched her back, taking him, and he came.
The flood that followed was everything that he had expected, and then some. He could feel every pulse running through his cock, every splatter of his cum against her insides splashing back against him. She was filled to the brim almost instantly, and the rest came flooding back out, running out over his balls and down his taint as she rested atop him.
“Mmmph…”
They moaned as they rested together, the bed groaning in complaint under them from the hard time that it had gone through supporting two much larger people than it was ever made for. He imagined that they were rather lucky that it hadn’t busted under them, all things considered.
“You may have…some angry neighbors with all the noise we made,” he admitted, chuckling.
“Let them be angry. I am happy.”
Shaking his head, he looked up at the ceiling. He could get used to this. Maybe…
Ray stopped himself before he went down that route. He had gotten into translating to make things better for people, to study languages and put that study to work by keeping the system from taking advantage of people that couldn’t speak its language. And here he was, thinking of offering his services for this kind of gratitude from others.
He had a long way to go, but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t fantasize about it a bit…particularly with Catalina still twitching around his cock in the aftershocks of their shared pleasure.
