Every Other Friday
Walter is forty-five, financially stable, and profoundly lonely. Every other Friday, he pays a twenty-six-year-old tiger named Jayce to spend the night.
It started as a transaction. Three years later, it's become something neither of them can name.
This is a story about two people navigating the space between paid intimacy and genuine connection—where money is still on the table, but so are feelings neither of them expected.
Walter woke to his alarm and the particular hum of anticipation that came with every other Friday.
Tonight.
He silenced his phone and lay there for a moment, staring at the ceiling, the duvet heavy across his chest. He'd dreamt - vaguely, in fragments - of warmth against his back, of a low voice rumbling something he couldn't quite catch, of the solid weight of another body. He couldn't remember specifics, but the feeling lingered in his limbs: a kind of settling contentment that made him reluctant to move. His morning erection was already sliding back into his sheath. He shifted his thighs as the last of it retreated, and let out a slow breath.
Jayce.
The name surfaced without permission. He didn't push it down this time. There was no point pretending he wasn't thinking about it - about him. Every other Friday for nearly three years now, and it still hit him the same way.
He was forty-five years old. Financially secure. Stable. He had a good job, a sister who called on Sundays, a nephew who texted him things he didn't always understand. His life was fine.
And every other Friday, he paid a twenty-six-year-old tiger to spend the night in his bed. And that was fine too.
He swung his legs out from under the covers and sat on the edge of the mattress, feeling the weight of his own body, the thickness of his limbs, the way his belly rested against his thighs when he hunched forward. He was a Saint Bernard - heavyset, soft, built for endurance rather than aesthetics. He'd never been lean. He'd made peace with that years ago.
But peace was different from effort.
Effort was what he was about to make.
The bathroom was small and poorly lit, a single bulb above the mirror that cast shadows under his eyes and made his face look duller than it was. He should replace it. He'd been meaning to for months.
He stood in front of the sink and studied himself with the clinical detachment of someone performing a familiar inventory.
His muzzle had grown broader with age, the soft jowls more pronounced. Brown and white fur, thick and slightly wavy around his neck, shorter across his cheeks. The gray had started coming in around his nose and the corners of his eyes about three years ago - subtle at first, then undeniable. He didn't mind it. It made him look distinguished, he told himself. Mature.
But with age came a less glamorous maintenance.
He opened the medicine cabinet and retrieved the small grooming scissors he kept in the back, behind the aspirin and the floss. Stainless steel, sharp, purchased specifically for this purpose.
Nose hair first, then his ears. He wouldnt have hair poking out in awkward places ruining his night. Then came the bush maintenance.
He retrieved the battery operated grooming tool from the drawer beneath the sink. Walter bought it three years ago, after he'd realized this was becoming a regular thing and he couldn't keep showing up with a jungle between his legs. Then he stripped off his boxers and stood to the side of the shower before turning the water on. He stuck a hand to probe for warmth, adjusted the temperature until it ran hot, steam billowing up around him, fogging the glass of the shower door. Then he stepped in, spread his legs, and got to work.
Clippings drifted onto the tile in soft clumps, catching in the water that swirled toward the hair catcher in the drain. He worked in sections, checking his progress by touch as much as sight, feeling for patches that were too long or uneven. The goal was neatness, not bareness. A maintained look.
When he was satisfied, he set the groomer aside and stepped fully under the showerhead. The hot water hit his back and shoulders, soaking through his dense pelt, and he let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding.
The shampoo was his usual no frills brand for deep coat species. He worked it through his entire body, starting at his shoulders and working down, scrubbing methodically. Normally that would be it, but today he also reached for the conditioner. It sat on the shelf next to the shampoo - a bottle of something vaguely upscale that he'd bought on a whim six months ago. Jayce complimented him on his fur a while ago, so now it was a biweekly ritual.
He squeezed a small amount into his palm and worked it through the thick ruff around his neck, down his chest, across his belly. The texture was different from the shampoo - creamier, silkier - and it required more effort to distribute evenly through his undercoat. He took his time.
He rinsed the conditioner out, and the difference was immediate - softer, silkier, less prone to matting. He ran his hands through it, testing the texture. Good. It felt like something someone might want to touch.
He thought about Jayce's hands. The way they felt against his chest. The way Jayce's claws would sometimes drag lightly across his skin, not scratching, just tracing.
Walter shuddered, repeating the same mantra:
Tonight.
Out of the shower, he grabbed a towel from the rack and began the laborious process of drying himself. Saint Bernard fur held water like a sponge. He had to work in sections, pressing and rubbing, reaching the spots between his legs and under his arms where the undercoat was densest. He reached for the blow dryer next - a necessity, not a luxury - and set it on low, warm. He worked methodically, starting at his shoulders and working down.
The mirror was completely fogged. He wiped a clear spot with his hand and studied his reflection. Better. Cleaner. His coat, where it had dried, looked fluffier than usual and stood out from his body in soft waves. The conditioner had done its job. He looked like a different dog. Or at least a more put-together version of the same one.
He finished dressing. Underwear, slacks, belt, a blue button - down that brought out the warmth in his brown and white markings. He tucked the shirt in, buckled the belt, checked himself in the full - length mirror on the back of the closet door.
He looked like what he was: a middle-aged office worker preparing for another day. But underneath the clothes and grooming, something else hummed; desire.
The cologne was the last step.
He kept it on the dresser, next to his wallet and keys - a bottle of something woodsy and subtle that his sister had given him for his birthday three years ago. He'd never been much for fragrance, but he'd accepted the gift graciously, and over time, it had become part of the ritual.
He unscrewed the cap and touched the applicator to his left wrist, then his right. Dabbed the faintest amount at the base of his throat. Behind one ear. Behind the other.
He sniffed himself. Barely there. A suggestion rather than a statement. The kind of thing you'd only notice if you were close enough to be breathing him in.
The kind of distance Jayce would be, later tonight.
The kitchen was familiar territory. He poured himself coffee from the timer - set pot - two packets of sugar and 1 of coffee creamer - and stood at the window looking out at the driveway. The sun was barely up. The sky was the color of dishwater.
He had a full day ahead of him. Reports to review. Meetings to attend. The quiet, unremarkable labor of a life he'd built for himself. It wasn't a bad life. It was stable, predictable, and comfortable. But every other Friday, he rewarded himself.
He drank his coffee and tried not to count the hours.
The office was on the third floor of a building that had been 'modernized' in the late nineties and not touched since. Beige cubicle walls. Fluorescent hum. Carpet that had seen better decades. His cubicle was near the window - a small victory in the seniority rankings. He had a view of the parking lot and, beyond it, the highway. Not scenic, but something.
He was settling in at his desk, pulling up his email, when he heard the familiar heavy tread of hooves on carpet.
"Please tell me you watched the game last night."
Walter didn't look up. "I watched the game last night."
"And?"
Walter finally raised his head. Marcus Ward was leaning against the cubicle partition, arms crossed, a portly boar with bristly gray - brown fur and tusks that jutted from his lower jaw. He was wearing his usual Giants jersey - the home blue, slightly faded from weekly washing - and the expression of a man preparing to gloat.
"And your defense collapsed in the fourth quarter," Walter said. "Again."
"It did not collapse. It made a strategic retreat."
"It gave up twenty - one points in eight minutes. That's not a retreat. That's a surrender."
Marcus snorted, the sound loud enough to draw a glance from the jackal in the next cubicle. "Coming from a Jets fan. The Jets. You haven't seen a playoff game in what, fifteen years?"
"Fourteen."
"Fourteen." Marcus shook his head. "My team has a bad fourth quarter and yours hasn't had a good season since I had hair."
"You have never had hair."
"Exactly." Marcus pointed at him. "That's how long it's been. You don't get to talk trash about the Giants. Not with that record."
"The Giants have won two Super Bowls in my lifetime and spent the last decade pretending they didn't."
"We're rebuilding."
"You've been rebuilding since I started working here."
Marcus opened his mouth to respond, then paused. His eyes narrowed, traveling over Walter with the practiced scrutiny of someone who'd been noticing things for a while. "Wait a minute."
Walter braced himself.
"Every two weeks," Marcus said slowly. "Every other Friday. You come in looking like you just left a groomer. Fur all fluffy. Cologne on. Shirt tucked in like you actually looked in a mirror." He tilted his head. "You got a date tonight?"
Walter felt his ears warm. He turned back to his monitor. "Something like that."
"That's a yes. That's definitely a yes." Marcus leaned in, lowering his voice. "What's her name?"
Walter hesitated. Just for a moment. He could feel Marcus watching him, the familiar tension rising whenever he had to navigate this particular conversation. Marcus knew - had known for years - but it never stopped coming up in moments like this, the assumptions reasserting themselves.
"Jayce," Walter said.
Marcus blinked. Then his expression shifted - not negatively, just recalibrating. "Right, right. I always forget you don't, you know." He gestured vaguely. "You don't act gay."
"I'm not gay. I'm bisexual."
"Right, but you watch football. You complain about your fantasy league." He made a gesture encompassing Walter's existence. "The whole regular guy thing."
"I am a regular guy."
"I know. That's what I'm saying." Marcus caught himself. "I'm putting my foot in my mouth here."
"A little bit."
"You know what, I'm going to quit while the hole I'm digging isn't too deep.... Jayce. That's a nice name. You've been seeing him for a while?"
"A while."
Marcus nodded, accepting this, and the conversation shifted. Walter watched him settle back into the familiar rhythms of casual friendship - the kind that didn't probe too deeply, didn't ask for details, didn't make a thing of something that didn't need to be a thing.
"Anyway," Marcus said, "I'm taking the kids to a birthday party at some trampoline place tomorrow. Gonna be a nightmare."
"Which kid?"
"Emma. Her friend from school. Apparently they have a package where you get pizza and cake and an hour of jumping, and the parents just sit there and pray nobody breaks an arm."
"Sounds efficient."
"It sounds like hell." Marcus grinned. "But she's excited. Been talking about it all week. Shows me pictures of the birthday girl every night like I don't know what a six - year - old looks like."
Walter smiled. "How's Derek doing?"
"Derek is twelve now, which means he's too cool for everything. Including trampolines. Including his sister. Including me." Marcus rolled his eyes. "He asked if he could stay home alone instead of coming. I said absolutely not, you're twelve, you'll burn the house down making ramen. So now he's coming and he's going to be miserable the entire time."
"He'll survive."
"Yeah, he'll survive. Then he'll never speak to me again." Marcus checked his phone. "How's your sister doing? She still in Philly?"
"She's still in Philly. We talk on Sundays."
"Good. That's good." Marcus straightened up, groaning slightly as his back popped. "I should actually do some work before I spend all day talking about my kids."
"Wouldn't want to set a precedent."
"Wouldn't want to." Marcus was already walking away, his hooves making soft sounds on the carpet. "Have fun with Jayce tonight. Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
"Impossible. I just said I'm not straight."
"Oh fuck off." Marcus laughed, shaking his head.
The day passed in the usual blur. A meeting about Q3 projections that ran twenty minutes over. A lunch break where he ate a turkey sandwich at his desk and read through a report on expense discrepancies. A call with the finance team that could have been an email.
Walter moved through it with the practiced ease of someone who'd done this a thousand times. He was good at his job - reliable, thorough, the kind of employee who made everything run smoother without drawing attention to himself. He'd been here long enough to have a corner of the office that felt like his, a chair that had molded to his shape, a routine that required almost no thought.
He was also, he knew, one of the larger canines in the department. Saint Bernard genetics gave him that - broad shoulders, thick limbs, a height that put him a head above most of his colleagues. He'd learned to make himself smaller in certain situations, to duck through doorways that were built for average frames, to take up less space in elevators. It was second nature now.
But he was also aware, in the quiet moments, of how he looked to others. A big, heavyset dog in his mid-forties. Gray around the muzzle. Soft around the middle. The kind of animal that faded into the background precisely because he took up so much of it. People expected him to be what he appeared to be: steady, unremarkable, comfortably heteronormative.
He didn't correct them. Not because he was hiding - Sharon had known, his sister knew, Marcus knew, anyone who bothered to ask knew - but because it rarely came up. He'd been married to Sharon for twelve years before the amicable unraveling. She'd remarried two years after the divorce, sent him a Christmas card every December with a photo of her new family. They'd been better friends than spouses. The fact that he also found men attractive was simply not something that defined his public persona.
And then there was Jayce.
He caught himself checking his phone more than usual. Not that there was anything to check - Jayce wouldn't text, they never texted during the day - but Walter found himself looking anyway. Watching the time crawl.
At five, he started packing up. Marcus appeared at his cubicle again, Giants jersey replaced by a wrinkled polo, a backpack slung over one shoulder.
"Leaving on time for once?"
"I have plans."
"Yeah, yeah. Your every - other - Friday plans." Marcus grinned. "Go have fun. Tell Jayce I said hi. Or don't. That might be weird."
"That would be weird."
"Probably." Marcus shrugged. "See you Monday."
"Monday."
Walter walked to the parking garage, his claws clicking on the concrete, and got into his car. He sat for a moment with his hands on the wheel. The engine was cold. The radio was off. The silence of the vehicle was his own.
Tonight.
He started the car and drove home.
The drive home took twenty - three minutes. Walter knew this because he'd made the trip thousands of times, and because he checked the clock on the dashboard twice, willing the numbers to move faster.
His apartment was on the second floor of a building that had been "luxury" in the eighties and was now simply adequate. He unlocked the door, stepped inside, and let out a breath that seemed to carry the weight of the entire week. The silence of the space settled around him, familiar and unremarkable.
Two hours.
He started in the bathroom. The coffee he'd drunk throughout the day had left his mouth tasting stale, acidic, and he wasn't about to greet Jayce with coffee breath. He reached for the mouthwash - something minty, store brand - and swished it aggressively, gargling for good measure. He spit, rinsed, and checked his reflection. Better.
Then the harder part.
The bottle was in the medicine cabinet. He'd started taking it about a year into the arrangement, after a night where things hadn't worked the way he'd wanted them to. Jayce hadn't said anything - hadn't even seemed to mind - but Walter had felt the failure settle into his chest like a stone. He was forty - five. He wasn't going to let his body embarrass him.
He shook out a pill and swallowed it dry. Forty minutes to kick in. He had time.
The cash was next. He kept it in an envelope in his dresser, withdrawn in advance so he never had to fumble with an ATM on the night of. He took the envelope to the front door. There was a small table there, just inside the entrance, with a decorative plate that usually held his keys and wallet. He set the envelope there instead; the arrangement, made visible. He didn't feel guilty about it anymore. He'd stopped feeling guilty about a lot of things.
He did the dishes next. Swept the floors. Took out the trash. Small tasks to pass the time, to keep himself from watching the clock.
The knock came at exactly seven.
Walter opened the door, and there he was.
Jayce stood in the hallway, orange - gold coat catching the fluorescent light, black striping sharp against the warm tones. He was wearing a fitted black t-shirt and dark jeans, the fabric stretched across a chest that was genuinely impressive - competitive bodybuilder physique, the result of years of dedicated training. His yellow - green eyes met Walter's, and smiled.
"Hey," Jayce said.
"Hey." Walter stepped aside. "Come in."
Then the tiger's gaze dropped to the plate by the door.
He reached past Walter, took the folded bills without breaking stride, and slipped them into his back pocket. The motion was smooth, practiced, utterly without ceremony. It took less than three seconds. Jayce dropped onto the couch with the easy familiarity of someone who'd been here dozens of times. He kicked off his shoes, tucking his feet beneath him, and watched Walter with an unreadable expression.
"How was your week?" Walter asked, settling into the armchair across from him.
"Same old. Store's been short - staffed, so I've been pulling extra shifts." Jayce stretched, his arms behind his head, and Walter watched the muscles shift beneath his tight shirt. "But I hit a new PR on deadlifts on Tuesday. Three - eighty - five."
"That's impressive."
"It's alright. Trying to get to four by summer." Jayce's tail flicked against the cushion. "How about you? Any excitement in the world of quarterly reports?"
Walter snorted. "A meeting that ran an hour over. A disagreement about expense projections that could have been resolved with a single email. The usual." He paused. "I talked to Marcus today."
"Your work friend?"
"Yeah. He noticed I was dressed up. Asked if I had a date."
Jayce quirked an eyebrow. "What'd you tell him?"
"I told him I had plans. He asked who with, and I said your name." Walter's ears flicked back slightly. "Should have asked you first. Wasn't thinking."
Jayce studied him for a long moment. Then he let out a breath that was almost a laugh. "I have a really hard time picturing you whipping out a picture and saying 'this is the hooker I've been fucking for the past four years.'"
"Well no, of course I didn't say it like that. I just said I had a date."
"Then it's fine."
"Still should have asked."
Jayce waved a hand. "Bro, I wear a name tag at the grocery store. Trust me, it's fine." He grinned, showing the tips of his fangs. "But I appreciate the concern." His voice softened slightly. "It's very you."
Walter huffed, amused.
"What did Marcus say?"
"He said he forgot I swing both ways. Then we argued about football for twenty minutes."
"Sounds about right."
The conversation drifted into easier territory. Jayce talked about his workout split, the new protein powder he was trying, the customer at the grocery store who'd thrown a fit over expired coupons. Walter talked about the quarterly projections, the office coffee machine that kept breaking, the book his sister had recommended that he still hadn't started.
It was comfortable. Familiar. The kind of conversation that could happen between friends who'd known each other for years - except they weren't friends, exactly. They were something else. Something with money attached and an emotional edge that neither of them talked about directly.
At eight, Walter ordered food. Jayce picked Thai - green curry, extra rice - and they ate on the couch with the TV on low, some documentary about deep - sea creatures that Jayce had found. Neither of them was paying close attention. The food tasted good, the company felt better, and for a while, Walter forgot to think about the arrangement that brought them here.
"My sister got into Sacramento State," Jayce said between bites. "Full ride. Mom called me crying."
"That's huge."
"Yeah." Jayce's tail flicked. "She's the smart one. I always told her she'd get out."
"You got out."
"Different." Jayce's voice was light, but something underneath wasn't. "I'm just the one who sends money back."
Walter let the statement sit for a moment. Then he reached over and squeezed Jayce's knee - a small acknowledgment that didn't demand explanation.
This was what he looked forward to. Not just the sex - though that was part of it - but this. The companionship. The feeling of having someone in his space who chose to be there. Even if there was money attached. Even if it was complicated.
At nine - thirty, the documentary ended. Jayce set his empty plate on the coffee table and stretched, his spine popping audibly.
"I should clean out before things get going," Jayce said, standing from the couch. "You still have that attachment?"
"Under the sink. Left side."
"Thanks."
Jayce disappeared into the bathroom, and Walter heard the water running, the familiar sounds of preparation. He didn't think much of it - this was routine. With most clients, Jayce cleaned out beforehand, arrived ready, kept things efficient. But here, with Walter, he allowed himself the luxury of time. The safety of not rushing.
Walter cleared the plates from the coffee table, loaded them into the dishwasher, and poured himself a glass of water. He settled back onto the couch and listened to the distant sounds of Jayce in the bathroom, comfortable with the intimacy of the moment.
About twenty minutes later, Jayce emerged. "All set," he said, dropping back onto the couch beside Walter. "Now I just need to let things settle for about an hour." Jayce pulled his legs up beneath him, settling into Walter's side. "What do you want to do with it?"
Walter reached for the remote and pulled up a documentary he'd been meaning to watch. Jayce made a quiet sound of approval and let his head rest against Walter's shoulder.
They sat like that for a while - comfortable, unhurried, two bodies sharing space without expectation. Walter's arm settled around Jayce's shoulders, his fingers tracing idle patterns through the tiger's fur. Jayce's tail curled around Walter's thigh, the tip flicking occasionally.
"Good week?" Walter asked eventually.
"Better now that I'm done with work."
Walter raised an eyebrow, and Jayce caught himself, slightly embarrassed for a moment. Then Jayce's eyes met his, and something flickered there - warmth, maybe, or something deeper. "You... You don't feel like work."
Something caught in Walter's throat. He didn't know what to say to that. Jayce's ears had flattened slightly, like he'd admitted more than he meant to.
Then his tone shifted, matter of fact. "Speaking of work - I saw Faucet this morning."
Walter nodded. He knew Faucet by Jayce's name for the man's cock - one of his regulars, so called because he leaked constantly, a quirk of his species that made oral sex a uniquely wet experience. He still didn't know what that species was, but Jayce had told him stories over the years, details shared without identifying information, a kind of confessional intimacy that Walter had come to appreciate.
"How'd that go?"
"Usual. Except he wanted to switch things up." Jayce wrinkled his nose. "Usually it's just oral, but today he was insistent on anal."
Walter's expression flickered - concern, maybe, or something protective. "You okay? You sore?"
Jayce nodded his head. "Yeah, but not the way you're thinking. I know how to handle clients like him. Insisted he use lots of lube." He shifted against Walter's side, rolling his shoulders. "It's the fucking shelving at the store. Been working overtime restocking, and the reaching is murder on my back."
Walter's eyes dropped to Jayce's shoulders, reading the tension there - the kind that came from repetitive motion, from hours of lifting and stretching and carrying. He set the remote down.
"Turn around."
Jayce blinked. "What?"
"Turn around." Walter shifted, making room. "Let me see."
Jayce hesitated for just a moment - something flickering across his face that Walter couldn't quite read - want, maybe, or surprise at being offered care without asking for it - before he shifted position...
Walter placed a large hand on Jayce's shoulder, fingers pressing gently into the muscle. He worked his way down, feeling for knots, for the kind of tension that came from physical labor.
Jayce let out a breath.
"Found it?" Walter asked.
"Little lower. Left side."
Walter's hand drifted down, pressing into the muscle along Jayce's spine. He found the knot - a tight bundle of tension near the tiger's lower back - and worked it with his thumb, applying steady pressure.
Jayce groaned. "Jesus. Right there."
"You've been overdoing it."
"Tell me about it." Jayce's head fell back against Walter's shoulder. "Been pulling doubles three days a week. The overtime pay is nice, but my body hates me for it."
Walter worked in silence for a while, his thick fingers digging into the tight muscles of Jayce's back. The tiger gradually unwound beneath his touch, his breathing deepening, his tail going slack against Walter's thigh.
"That feels really fucking good," Jayce murmured.
"Good." Walter's voice was low, steady. "You tell me if it's too much."
"It's not enough. Don't stop."
Walter huffed a quiet laugh and kept working. His hands moved from Jayce's lower back to his shoulders, finding another knot near the base of his neck. He pressed into it, and Jayce made a sound somewhere between a groan and a sigh.
"You're something else, you know that?" Jayce said, his voice drowsy.
"I've been told."
"Most people don't - " He stopped. Started again. "Most clients don't do this. They don't ask how my week was. They don't care if I'm sore. They just want to get their nut and move on."
"I'm not most people."
"No." Jayce's voice was softer now. "You're not."
Walter held his gaze for a long moment. Then he nodded, satisfied, and let his hands rest on Jayce's shoulders.
"You're a breath of fresh air, Walter. After dealing with clients like Faucet all day - " He gestured vaguely. " - you actually try. You give a shit. You smell nice. You're not just here to use me and leave."
"The cologne was for you."
"I noticed." Jayce's voice was softer now. "I always notice."
Walter's thumb traced a slow circle against Jayce's back. "I'm glad."
Jayce's ears twitched. He didn't respond, but his tail curled tighter around Walter's thigh.
They sat in comfortable silence for a while longer, the documentary playing unwatched in the background. Walter's hands continued their slow, absent exploration of Jayce's back - nothing sexual, just touch. Connection. The kind of casual intimacy that came from years of familiarity.
Jayce's breathing had deepened, his body loose and warm against Walter's chest. Every now and then, his tail would flick against Walter's leg, a lazy metronome.
"You know there's a reason I book you last," Jayce said eventually, his voice drowsy.
"Oh?"
"Last client of the night. Always." Jayce's tail swished against Walter's leg. "Even before tonight, when I'm seeing other people the same day - it's hard to go from The Barrel to anyone else. Physically. Mentally." He paused. "You're the one I want to end on."
Walter felt his cheeks warm. "The Barrel. Is that what you call it?"
"It's affectionate." Jayce grinned, tilting his head back to look at Walter upside - down. "You've got girth, Walter. It's a compliment."
"You're just stroking my ego."
"I'm about to stroke more than your ego." Jayce's voice dropped. "But I mean it. You're different. Not just - " He gestured vaguely. " - not just because of this. Because you're you."
Walter didn't have a response for that. He just pulled Jayce closer, his hand settling on the tiger's hip.
He should have felt something - jealousy, maybe, at the mention of other clients, other bodies, other men who got to have what he was about to have. But he didn't. He'd never felt that way about Jayce's work. It was part of the deal. Part of who Jayce was.
What he felt instead was something harder to name. A kind of recognition. Jayce was here, in his apartment, warm and loose against his chest, calling him affectionate nicknames and saying things that made Walter's heart flutter. The other clients - the Faucets of the world - got pieces of Jayce. Hours. Services. Walter got the night. He got the softness in Jayce's eyes when he let his guard down. He got the jokes and the stories and the comfortable silence.
He got more than any of them, and he knew it.
The hour passed slowly, comfortably. Walter was content to sit like this - Jayce's weight against his chest, the quiet drone of the television, the simple pleasure of being touched without urgency.
But eventually, Jayce stirred.
Jayce shifted in Walter's lap, turning to face him. His thighs spread on either side of Walter's hips, knees pressing into the cushion on each side. The position put them at eye level - Jayce's yellow - green gaze meeting Walter's warm brown.
Something in his expression had changed. The contentment was still there, but beneath it - a heat, and a smile.
"Hey," Jayce said.
"Hey."
Jayce's hand came up, resting against Walter's chest. His claws dragged lightly through the thick ruff, tracing the curve of pectoral muscle beneath the softness. The touch hit Walter like electricity, each nerve ending attuned to the tiger's proximity.
"Kiss me," Jayce practically begged.
Walter didn't hesitate. He reached up, cupping the back of Jayce's head with one large hand, and drew him in.
Their muzzles met - not a collision but a careful negotiation, dog and cat learning each other's angles. Walter's snout was broader, longer, his jowls soft against Jayce's shorter, more compact muzzle. He tilted his head slightly, finding the fit, and felt Jayce do the same.
The first kiss was gentle, testing. Walter's lips parted just enough to let the tip of his tongue brush against Jayce's mouth, testing. Jayce responded with a quiet sound - something between a sigh and a hum - and pressed closer.
Walter chuckled low in his throat, the vibration passing between them. His other hand settled on Jayce's hip, fingers curling into the solid muscle there, holding him steady.
Jayce kissed harder. His own tongue met Walter's - rougher, textured with the fine spines characteristic of felines. Walter's breath caught. He'd felt that texture in other moments, but here, in a kiss, it was different. More intimate. The roughness dragged across the smooth surface of Walter's tongue, sending sparks down his spine.
They found a rhythm. Walter's jaw worked slowly, deliberately, taking his time. He was in no rush. He'd learned, over the years, that Jayce responded best to patience. The harder Walter pressed, the more Jayce softened, opening up in stages.
Jayce's hands roamed. One stayed on Walter's chest, claws prickling through fur; the other moved to the back of Walter's neck, fingers threading through the thicker ruff there. He gripped, pulling Walter closer, and Walter let himself be pulled.
The kiss deepened. Walter's tongue slid into Jayce's mouth, tasting him - traces of the green curry they'd shared, something underneath that was just Jayce, warm and alive and wanting. He explored slowly, thoroughly, mapping the interior of Jayce's mouth.
Jayce made a sound. A low, rumbling moan that vibrated against Walter's lips. His hips shifted unconsciously, pressing down, and Walter felt the tiger's arousal through the layers of fabric between them. His own cock was stirring now, the Viagra doing its work, responding to the heat and weight and want of the body above him.
When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing hard.
Jayce's pupils were blown wide, the yellow - green nearly swallowed by black. His lips were parted, wet, his chest heaving. He looked - wrecked. Undone. And they'd barely started.
"Bedroom," Jayce said, his voice rough.
"Bedroom" Walter panted in agreement.
They didn't make it far.
Jayce's mouth was on Walter's before they'd even left the couch, the tiger's hands gripping the back of Walter's neck, pulling him close. Walter responded in kind, one large hand splayed across Jayce's lower back, the other cupping the side of his face, tilting him for a better angle.
They stumbled down the hallway in a tangle of limbs and heated breath. Jayce's fingers found the hem of Walter's shirt, tugging upward, and Walter raised his arms to let him pull it off. The fabric landed somewhere on the floor, forgotten. Walter's hands went to Jayce's t-shirt next, sliding beneath the cotton, feeling the hard planes of muscle beneath his sleek body.
"Off," Walter murmured against Jayce's mouth.
Jayce pulled back just long enough to yank the shirt over his head, then pressed himself against Walter's bare chest. The contrast was stark - Walter's thick, softness against Jayce's shorter, sleeker coat. Walter groaned at the contact, his hands roaming across the tiger's broad shoulders, down the defined ridges of his spine.
They reached the bedroom door. Walter's back hit the frame as Jayce pressed into him, kissing him hard, their tongues sliding together. Walter's claws scraped lightly down Jayce's sides, and the tiger shivered.
"Bed," Walter said. "Now."
Jayce grinned against his mouth. "Bossy."
"You like it."
Jayce didn't argue. Instead, he shoved Walter backward, one hand flat against the dog's broad chest. Walter's knees hit the edge of the mattress and he went down, bouncing slightly, the springs creaking beneath his weight.
He barely had time to catch his breath before Jayce was on top of him.
The tiger straddled Walter's hips, knees bracketing his waist, and leaned down to kiss him again. Slower this time. More deliberate. Walter's hands came up to rest on Jayce's thighs, the solid coiled strength pressing against his palms.
"You're overdressed," Jayce murmured against Walter's lips.
"So are you."
They worked at each other's belts in tandem - fumbling, rushed, neither willing to break the kiss long enough to do it properly. Walter heard his belt hit the floor somewhere to the left. Then Jayce's. Then the sound of zippers, the rustle of fabric, and then -
Fur on fur.
Jayce's bare thighs pressed against Walter's hips. The tiger's cock, fully emerged from its sheath, lay flushed and pink against his belly. Walter's own was still mostly tucked away, just the tapered red tip peeking out, a promise of what was to come.
Jayce pulled back slightly, looking down at Walter with heavy - lidded eyes. His gaze traveled across the dog's body - the soft thickness of his chest, the gray scattered through his brown and white markings, the gentle curve of his belly. Not a body built for aesthetics. A body built for comfort. For warmth.
"You're beautiful," Jayce said.
Walter snorted. "I'm a middle-aged Saint Bernard with a bad back and a gut."
"Did I stutter?"
Walter opened his mouth to argue, but Jayce silenced him with another kiss. Then he started moving.
His lips traveled from Walter's mouth to his jaw, nipping lightly at the soft skin beneath his ear. Walter's breath caught. Jayce's tongue dragged across the sensitive spot just below Walter's ear, and the dog's hips twitched involuntarily.
"Sensitive there," Jayce murmured.
"Always have been."
Jayce filed that information away and moved lower. His mouth found the thick ruff of fur at Walter's throat, then the hollow between his collarbones. He took his time, kissing and nibbling, mapping the terrain of Walter's body with the kind of attention that bordered on reverence.
Walter's hands came up to rest on Jayce's shoulders, not pushing or pulling, just touching. Anchoring himself. His breath was coming faster now, his chest rising and falling beneath Jayce's exploring mouth.
Jayce found a nipple.
Walter gasped.
The tiger's tongue dragged across the small bud, rough and wet, sending sparks of sensation straight down Walter's spine. His back arched slightly off the mattress, a groan escaping his throat. Jayce did it again, then sealed his lips around the nipple and sucked.
"Jesus - " Walter's claws dug into the bedsheets.
Jayce chuckled against his skin. "Like that?"
"You know I do."
Jayce gave the nipple one last lick before moving to its twin, giving it the same treatment. Walter's hips shifted restlessly beneath him, his cock slowly emerging further from its sheath, the red glistening at the tip.
But Jayce wasn't done exploring.
He worked his way down Walter's chest, tongue tracing the soft curve of his belly, nose pressing into the dense fur. He took his time, breathing deeply, and Walter felt him pause to take in his scent.
Walter had always been self-conscious about that. Saint Bernards weren't known for being the most pleasant-smelling canines. He'd scrubbed thoroughly, used the conditioner, applied cologne with care -
"You smell good," Jayce murmured against his stomach. "Like - " He inhaled again. " - like you. Just you. Clean and warm and - " His voice dropped. "I love how you smell."
Warmth spread through Walters ribcage. "I thought you were just being polite."
"Why would I be polite about how you smell?" Jayce's mouth curved against Walter's fur. "I'm about to have your cock in my mouth. Politeness is off the table."
Walter laughed, the sound dissolving into a groan as Jayce moved lower.
The tiger settled between Walter's legs, pushing his thick thighs apart to make room. Walter's cock had emerged more now, the red length poking out of its sheath like lipstick, still not fully hard but getting there.
Jayce leaned in and breathed deeply.
The scent here was stronger - muskier, more primal. Walter's personal scent mixed with the clean smell of soap, the faint trace of cologne, the musk of arousal. Jayce's nose pressed against the base of Walter's sheath, inhaling, and Walter felt the exhale as a warm gust against his sensitive flesh.
"Jayce - "
"Shh." Jayce's breath ghosted over the tip of Walter's cock. "Let me."
His textured tongue dragged across the tapered point.
Walter's hips jerked, and Jayce immediately pulled back.
"Too much?"
"No, I - " Walter's voice was rough. "Just - sensitive. The tip."
Jayce nodded, filing that away too. He'd learned, over the years, that the knot and everything above it was sensitive - prone to overstimulation if handled too roughly.
He needed to be careful.
Jayce started slow. He pressed his nose against Walter's sheath again, breathing in his scent, letting his warm breath wash over the emerging cock. Then, deliberately, he dragged his tongue along the side of the shaft - slowly.
Walter groaned.
Jayce did it again, longer this time, his rough tongue catching against the smooth surface. He worked his way around the shaft, taking his time. His hands came up to rest on Walter's hips, holding him steady.
"You taste good too," Jayce murmured.
"Christ, Jayce - "
The tiger sealed his lips around his red rocket and sucked gently. Just pressure. Just warmth. His tongue cradled the underside of Walter's cock, providing support but careful not to offer too much stimulation.
Walter's claws tore at the sheets. His hips twitched beneath Jayce's restraining hands, torn between thrusting up and holding still.
Jayce pulled back to look.
The red shaft stood fully erect now, glistening with saliva and precum. Jayce had seen it before, but something about this moment felt different. More intimate. Less transactional.
He leaned in and pressed a kiss to the tip.
Walter made a sound somewhere between a gasp and a whimper.
"Gonna make you feel good," Jayce murmured against the swollen flesh. "Gonna take my time."
And he did.
Jayce sensed it - the twitch in Walter's thighs, the way his breathing had gone shallow and fast, the desperate tension building in his core. He knew the signs. He'd learned them over years of being with Walter.
Walter was close. Too close.
Jayce pulled off with a wet pop, and Walter made a sound of protest that dissolved into a groan when Jayce's mouth found somewhere else.
His balls.
Walter's sac was heavy and furred, the skin soft beneath the coarse hair. Jayce nuzzled into it, breathing deep, then dragged his tongue across the surface. Walter's hips stuttered, his thighs falling open wider.
"Jesus, Jayce - "
"Shh." Jayce's mouth moved lower, tongue tracing the seam, then sucking one of the balls gently into his mouth. He rolled it carefully, feeling its weight, the way it drew up slightly toward Walter's body.
Walter's hand came down to rest on Jayce's head, fingers threading through the shorter fur there. Not pushing. Just holding.
"Good," Walter breathed. "That's - good."
Jayce worked him slowly, alternating between gentle suction and broad licks, giving Walter's overstimulated cock time to recover. He could feel the dog's heartbeat through the sensitive flesh, fast and urgent.
When Walter's breathing had steadied somewhat, Jayce released his balls and started moving upward. His tongue traced a line along the crease of Walter's thigh, across the soft curve of his belly, up through the dense fur of his chest. He took his time, kissing and nibbling, letting his weight settle across Walter's body.
He found a nipple and sealed his mouth around it.
Walter groaned, his back arching, and Jayce felt the dog's cock twitch against his belly - still hard, still wanting, but no longer on the edge.
"That's it," Walter murmured, his voice thick. "Take your time."
Jayce pulled back just enough to look up at him. His yellow - green eyes were soft now - the heat from before gone.
"I know you don't last long with oral," Jayce said quietly. "I want this to last."
Walter's expression shifted into a warm, bemused smile. "Good boy," He said, the words rough with affection.
The words hit Jayce somewhere deep. His ears flattened, and a rope of the tiger's precum shot across Walter's leg. He ducked his head, pressing his face into Walter's chest, heat flooding his cheeks.
"Fuck," he breathed. "I don't - I wasn't expecting - "
Walter's hand stroked down the back of Jayce's head, tracing the line of his spine. He didn't ask. Didn't push. Just held.
After a moment, Jayce let out a shaky laugh. "You're gonna think I'm weird."
"I already think you're weird. Doesn't change anything."
"Yeah, well." Jayce mumbled against his fur. "You're the only one who's made me..." He trailed off, didn't finish.
Walter seemed to understand anyway. His hand kept moving, slow and steady, and when he spoke again, his voice was warm.
"You're my good boy. That's different."
Jayce shivered.
The dynamic between them had shifted. Walter could feel it - the way Jayce's body melted against his, the way the tiger's tail curled around his thigh. Jayce was always composed, always in control with his other clients. But here, in this bed, with Walter's large hand stroking his back, he let himself be something else.
Walter took the lead.
He shifted, rolling them slightly so Jayce was pressed against his side, one thick arm wrapped around the tiger's shoulders. His other hand found Jayce's cock - flushed pink, fully emerged, leaking at the tip - and wrapped around it.
Jayce gasped against Walter's chest.
"Come here," Walter murmured. "Closer."
Jayce obeyed, pressing himself against Walter's bulk, his face buried in the thick fur of the dog's chest. His mouth found a nipple again, almost unconsciously, and he latched on, sucking gently.
Walter stroked him slowly. His hand was large enough to wrap almost entirely around Jayce's shaft, the pad rough against the smooth, sensitive skin. He worked with a steady rhythm - nothing rushed, nothing frantic - just consistent, building pressure.
"That's it," Walter said, his voice low and warm. "Just like that. You're doing so well."
Jayce whimpered against his nipple, his hips twitching into Walter's grip. His textured tongue dragged across the sensitive bud, and Walter groaned, his own cock throbbing where it pressed against Jayce's thigh.
"You're so hard," Walter murmured. "Been wanting this all week, haven't you?"
Jayce nodded against his chest, mumbling "Faucet didn't let me cum."
"We'll fix that." Walter's thumb swept across the tip of Jayce's cock, spreading the slick precum that had gathered there. Jayce shuddered, latching back onto Walter's nipple and increasing his suction enthusiastically.
Walter continued to stroke him, slow and steady, while his other hand roamed across Jayce's back. He felt the tension in the tiger's muscles - the result of a long week, of double shifts at the store, of other clients and other demands. He worked his fingers into the knots, massaging as he stroked, and Jayce melted further into him.
"Such a good boy," Walter said again. "Taking such good care of me. Let me take care of you now."
Jayce pulled off Walter's nipple with a wet sound, breathing hard. His face was flushed beneath his fur, his eyes half - lidded and glassy.
"Walter - " His voice cracked. "I need - "
"What do you need?"
"You. Inside me. Please."
Walter's grip tightened on Jayce's cock, and the tiger moaned.
"Yeah?" Walter's voice dropped lower. "You need me inside you?"
"Yes." Jayce pressed his face into Walter's chest again, his whole body trembling. "Please. I'm ready. I've been ready - "
Walter held him close, stroking him slowly, feeling the tiger shake apart in his arms. This was what he lived for. The moments that felt less like a transaction and more like something real.
Walter released Jayce's cock and reached toward the nightstand.
The drawer stuck slightly - it always did, one of the many small imperfections in an apartment he'd never quite gotten around to fixing. His hand found the bottle by feel, the familiar shape cool against his pads.
Strawberry watermelon. He'd bought it on a whim months ago, after Jayce had mentioned offhandedly that he liked fruity flavors. The irony hadn't escaped Walter - strawberry watermelon was close to tiger's blood, that bright red Hawaiian shaved ice flavor that seemed to be everywhere in summer. Feeding a tiger something almost named after his own blood. There was a joke in there somewhere.
He'd never made it. It felt too intimate, somehow. Too revealing of how much attention he paid.
Jayce watched him through heavy - lidded eyes, his chest still heaving, his cock flushed and leaking against his belly. Walter held up the bottle, letting the light catch the pink liquid inside.
"Gonna get you ready," Walter said. "But first - " He shifted on the bed, rolling onto his back, his broad chest rising and falling with each breath. He looked up at Jayce, his warm brown eyes dark with want. "Sit on my face, boy."
Jayce's breath caught.
He'd heard those words before, from other clients, in other contexts. But something about the way Walter said it - low and commanding, with an undercurrent of care - made his cock twitch.
"Face the headboard," Walter added. "Want to look at you."
Jayce moved without thinking. He swung a leg over Walter's chest, positioning himself above the dog's broad muzzle, his hands resting on the headboard for balance. He could feel Walter's breath against his most intimate place - warm, damp, anticipatory.
"Hold still," Walter murmured. "Let me take care of you."
Then his tongue dragged across Jayce's hole.
Jayce gasped, his claws digging into the wood of the headboard. Walter's tongue was broad and wet, the texture slightly rough but not unpleasant. It swept across Jayce's entrance in a long, deliberate stroke, and Jayce's whole body shuddered.
"Christ - "
Walter did it again. Slower this time. His hands came up to grip Jayce's hips, holding him steady, thumbs spreading the tiger's cheeks apart for better access. He pressed his muzzle into the cleft of Jayce's ass and licked, firmly.
Jayce's head fell forward, his breathing ragged. He could feel Walter everywhere - the scratch of his facial fur against sensitive skin, the wet heat of his mouth, the solid strength of the hands gripping his hips. It was almost too much. It was exactly enough.
Walter worked methodically. His tongue circled Jayce's entrance, tracing the rim with patient attention, before pressing more firmly. The tip breached the tight ring of muscle, and Jayce let out a low, broken sound.
"That's it," Walter murmured against his skin. "Relax for me."
Jayce tried. He forced himself to unclench, to let Walter in, and was rewarded with a deeper press. Walter's tongue slid further inside, and Jayce's vision blurred at the edges.
Saint Bernards had large tongues. Thick, muscular, designed for lapping up water and grooming thick coats. In this context, that size was an asset. Walter could reach deeper than most, could press against places that made Jayce see stars.
He found Jayce's prostate.
Jayce cried out, his hips jerking involuntarily, and Walter held him down with steady hands. His tongue pressed against that small bundle of nerves, massaging with slow, deliberate strokes, and Jayce's whole body trembled.
"Oh god - Walter - fuck - "
Walter didn't stop. He kept working, his tongue moving in a slow rhythm, pressing and releasing, pressing and releasing. His thumbs stroked calming circles into Jayce's hips, a contradiction to the intense sensation building at his core.
Then Walter reached for the lube.
He popped the cap one - handed, the click audible beneath Jayce's desperate breathing. He slicked his fingers without breaking rhythm, his tongue still working inside Jayce's entrance, still pressing against that spot that made the tiger's knees weak.
The first finger slid in alongside his tongue.
Jayce moaned, long and low, his claws leaving scratches in the headboard. The dual sensation - Walter's tongue still working, his finger pressing deeper - was almost overwhelming. Cool lube mixed with hot saliva, and Jayce's body opened willingly.
And then he clenched.
Walter groaned against Jayce's skin, feeling the tight ring of muscle contract around his finger with surprising strength. Jayce wasn't just tight - he was controlled. The tiger's pelvic floor gripped Walter's finger like a vice, pulsing rhythmically, and Walter's cock throbbed in response.
"Jesus, boy - " Walter's voice was rough. "Fuck, you're strong. You've been practicing."
Jayce let out a breathless laugh. "Kegels. Part of the job."
"Part of the job," Walter repeated, wonder threading through his voice. His finger crooked, pressing against Jayce's prostate, and the tiger's control wavered - his hole fluttering, clenching tighter, then relaxing.
"Comes with the territory." Jayce's voice was strained. "Bodybuilder. Core strength. Gotta keep everything tight."
"You're gonna kill me."
"Wouldn't be the first client to say that."
Walter huffed a laugh and added a second finger.
The stretch made Jayce gasp, but his body accepted it - that controlled resistance giving way, opening up, then clenching down again. It was like being squeezed by a velvet vice, all smooth heat and crushing pressure.
"That's my good boy," Walter murmured, his voice low. "You've trained well."
Jayce whimpered. His walls fluttered around Walter's fingers, that impressive muscular control wavering under the dual assault of stretch and pleasure.
"Please - " Jayce's voice cracked. "Please, I need - "
"What do you need?"
"More. Please. More."
Walter added a third finger.
He worked them slowly, scissoring gently, stretching Jayce open with the kind of care that bordered on reverence. His tongue returned to the task, pressing into the space between his fingers, adding wet heat to the stretch. And still, Jayce clenched - that incredible, controlled pressure gripping Walter's fingers like the tiger was trying to pull them deeper.
"You're doing so well," Walter said, his voice low and warm. "So tight. So strong. Gonna feel incredible around me."
Jayce's whole body trembled now. His cock hung heavy between his thighs, dripping steadily, untouched and aching. Every press of Walter's fingers, every stroke of his tongue, every demand for more that his body made - that muscular grip pulling and releasing in waves.
"Close," Jayce gasped. "I'm gonna - "
Walter pulled back immediately.
The loss made Jayce whine, his hole clenching around nothing, those strong muscles spasming in protest. He looked down, desperate and confused, and found Walter watching him with dark, satisfied eyes.
"Not yet," Walter said. "You cum on my cock. Not before."
Jayce let out a flustered laugh. "You're a fucking tease."
"I'm thorough." Walter's hands stroked down Jayce's thighs, soothing. "There's a difference."
Jayce didn't have the breath to argue. His hole still fluttered, that impressive control working overtime, clenching around nothing.
Jayce pulled off Walter's chest, breathing hard, and rolled onto his back. His legs fell open, one hand reaching up to grab Walter's shoulder, tugging.
"Come here," Jayce said. "Want you on top of me."
Walter hesitated.
He took in Jayce - lean muscle beneath orange - gold fur, that powerful frame spread across the sheets - and then looked at himself. A Saint Bernard. Heavyset. Two hundred and eighty pounds of thick limbs and soft middle. He'd never been a small man, and age hadn't made him lighter.
"Jayce," Walter said slowly. "I'm going to crush you."
Jayce let out a breath that was half-laugh. "You're not going to crush me."
"I'm not exactly light."
"I can squat four hundred pounds." Jayce's legs wrapped around Walter's waist, pulling him closer. "You think I can't handle you?"
"It's not about handling me, it's about - "
"Please, daddy."
The word landed like a physical blow.
Walter's brain stuttered to a halt. His breath caught. His cock, which had softened slightly during the preparation, surged back to full hardness, the red length emerging completely from its sheath.
Daddy.
No one had ever called him that before. Not his ex-wife, not any of the handful of partners he'd had since the divorce. It wasn't something he'd asked for, wasn't something he'd known he wanted until this exact moment, when the word fell from Jayce's lips and settled into Walter's chest like a brand.
He looked at Jayce - really looked at him.
The tiger's guard was down. Completely. His yellow - green eyes were soft, vulnerable in a way Walter had never seen, even during their most intimate moments. There was no professional distance, no careful compartmentalization. Just Jayce, laid bare, wanting something and asking for it directly.
"Please," Jayce said again, his voice rough. "I want to feel you. All of you. On top of me. Inside me."
Walter couldn't argue with that.
He shifted forward, bracing himself on his forearms, and lowered his body between Jayce's spread thighs. The tiger's legs wrapped tighter around his waist, heels pressing into the small of his back, pulling him down.
"You're sure," Walter murmured against Jayce's ear. "You're sure you want this."
"I've never been more sure of anything." Jayce's hands came up to cup Walter's face, pulling him into a kiss. "Please. I need you."
Walter reached for the lube again, slicking his cock with practiced movements. He was fully hard now, the tapered tip flushed dark red, the shaft thick and ready. He positioned himself at Jayce's entrance, feeling the tiger's incredible heat against his most sensitive skin.
"Tell me if it's too much," Walter said.
"It won't be." Jayce's voice was steady, even as his body trembled. "I want all of you."
Walter pushed forward.
The first breach made Jayce gasp. His hole clenched tight around Walter's tip - that impressive muscular control asserting itself immediately - before relaxing, opening up. Walter paused, giving him time to adjust, but Jayce was already moving - his hips rolling, his legs tightening, pulling Walter deeper.
"More," Jayce breathed. "Please - more - "
Walter pushed again. Slowly. Inch by inch, he sank into that incredible heat, feeling Jayce's body open and close around him in waves. It was almost too much - the tightness, the heat, the way Jayce's body seemed to suck him in.
"Jesus, Jayce - " Walter's voice cracked. "You feel - "
"Good?" Jayce was panting now, his claws digging into Walter's shoulders. "Do I feel good?"
"Incredible. You feel incredible."
Jayce let out a half-laugh, half-sob. "You too. God, you're so - " He broke off, his back arching as Walter pressed deeper. " - so big. So fucking big."
Walter bottomed out.
He held there for a moment, fully sheathed, feeling Jayce's body pulse around him. The tiger was tight - impossibly tight - but not uncomfortable. That impressive muscular control had relaxed enough to let him in, and now gripped Walter's cock at the base.
"Okay?" Walter breathed.
Jayce's answer was to roll his hips.
The movement made them both groan. Walter's forehead dropped to Jayce's shoulder, his breath coming in short pants. He could feel the tiger's cock pressed between their bellies, hard and leaking, and the sensation added another layer of heat to the overwhelming tightness surrounding his shaft.
Walter set a steady pace. Then a harder one. His hips drove forward with purpose, the sound of flesh meeting flesh filling the room alongside their mingled breathing. He let his weight settle more fully onto Jayce's body, feeling the tiger take all of it - every pound, every inch - and Jayce let out a sound of pure satisfaction.
"Harder," Jayce's legs tightened around Walter's waist. "Please, daddy - "
There it was again. That word. It shot through Walter like electricity, made his thrusts stutter, made his cock throb inside Jayce's tight heat.
"You like that?" Jayce's voice was breathless, teasing even now. "You like when I call you daddy?"
"Fuck - yes - "
"Then fuck me like you mean it." Jayce's legs tightened around Walter's waist. "Show me what you've got. Put your weight into it, and don't you fucking dare hold back."
Walter pulled back - and snapped his hips forward.
Jayce cried out.
"Like that?" Walter growled.
"Yes - " Jayce's voice was ragged. "Yes, fuck, yes - "
The massive canine drove into Jayce with everything he had, the bed creaking beneath them, the headboard knocking against the wall. Jayce met every thrust with his hips, that powerful body taking everything Walter gave and demanding more. Claws raked down Walter's back and drew the tiniest amount of blood - accidental in the tiger's throws of ecstasy. Walter didn't care.
"Walter - fuck - Walter - "
"That's it." Walter's voice was low, rough. "Taking me so well. Such a good boy. My good boy."
Jayce sobbed.
His hole clenched rhythmically around Walter's cock, that incredible muscular control pulsing and releasing in waves. Walter groaned, feeling the pressure build at the base of his shaft, feeling the knot begin to swell.
And then he slowed.
The change was deliberate. Walter's hips gentled, his thrusts becoming shallow, rolling. The knot at the base of his cock swelled - slowly, inevitably - and he felt Jayce's body struggling to accommodate it.
"Breathe," Walter murmured against Jayce's ear. "Breathe for me."
Jayce gasped, his eyes flying open. "Oh god, it's starting."
"I know." Walter pressed a kiss to Jayce's jaw. "I know. Just breathe."
The knot swelled larger. Walter felt Jayce's entrance stretching, that tight ring of muscle fighting to accept the girth. He held still, letting Jayce's body adjust, pressing soothing circles into the tiger's hip with one hand.
"It's so much - " Jayce's voice was strained, his claws digging into Walter's shoulders. "But don't be afraid if I - "
"I know." Walter's voice was gentle now, tender. "You always want to tie with me. Even if I'm too big. You're stubborn."
"It's - " Jayce's breath came in short pants. "Every time - it's always - "
"I know." Walter pressed their foreheads together. "I've got you. I've got you."
Jayce's hole fluttered around the swelling knot, his body fighting between accepting and rejecting. His face was flushed beneath his fur, his ears pinned back, his jaw clenched. It was too much. It was always too much, that thick bulge stretching him past what seemed possible.
But then -
"Wait," Jayce gasped. "Don't pull out. Whatever you do - don't pull out."
"I won't." Walter's voice was steady. "I won't. I'm going to stay right here."
"Keep all of your weight on top of me." Jayce's eyes met Walter's, and there was something desperate in them - something vulnerable and raw. "Please. I want - I need - "
"I've got you." Walter pressed a kiss to Jayce's forehead and leaned into him. "I'm in. I'm all the way in."
Jayce wrapped his legs around Walter's haunches, and the bed creaked.
The knot swelled further, locking them together. Walter felt Jayce's body struggling to accept it - that incredible muscular control pushed to its absolute limit - but the tiger didn't ask him to stop. Instead, Jayce pulled him closer, legs wrapped tight around his waist, face buried in Walter's neck.
"Stay," Jayce whispered. "Stay inside me."
"Always." Walter pressed a kiss to Jayce's ear. "I'm not going anywhere."
He began to move again - slowly, gently, just tiny shifts that pressed the swollen knot against Jayce's prostate. The tiger whimpered, his cock trapped between their bellies, leaking steadily.
"Gonna make you cum like this," Walter murmured. "Gonna fill you up while you fall apart."
"Please - " Jayce was beyond words now, beyond thought. "Please, daddy, please - "
Walter rolled his hips again, and Jayce sobbed.
The knot pressed firmly against Jayce's prostate, throbbing with Walter's heartbeat. Every small movement sent sparks through the tiger's body, every tiny thrust pushed him closer to the edge.
"Close," Jayce gasped. "I'm so close - "
It was a sound of overwhelming sensation - pleasure and fullness and something that walked the edge of too much. His back arched off the mattress, his claws tearing at the sheets, his whole body shaking.
"Shh." Walter held him close, barely moving, just small rolls of his hips that pressed the knot against Jayce's prostate. "I've got you. You're doing so well. Such a good boy."
"Full - " Jayce's voice was broken. "So full - "
"I know. You're taking it so well." Walter's hand stroked down Jayce's side, soothing. "You're perfect. You're so perfect."
"I'm a hair's breadth away from - I can't hold on - I'm about to... about to..."
"Then cum for me." Walter's voice was low, commanding. "Cum on my knot." Then he thrust deep once more.
Jayce screamed in muffled ecstasy into Walter's shoulder. His whole body seized, his hole clenching impossibly tight around Walter's knot, his cock spurting between their bellies. The orgasm tore through him, wave after wave, and Walter held him through all of it.
"That's it," Walter murmured. "That's my good boy. Such a good boy."
The clenching, pulsing pressure around his knot was too much. Walter groaned, his own orgasm crashing through him, his cock pumping rope after rope of hot seed deep into Jayce's body.
They stayed locked together, trembling, the aftershocks rolling through them in waves. Walter's limbs had turned to Jello, and he couldn't move off of Jayce if he wanted to. Jayce's arms came up to wrap around him.
"Stay," Jayce mumbled. "Don't move yet."
"I'm not going anywhere." Walter pressed a kiss to Jayce's throat. "We're stuck together for a while."
"I know." Jayce's voice was drowsy, satisfied. "Good."
Walter huffed a quiet laugh and kept his weight on Jayce's body. The tiger took it easily, that powerful frame accepting every pound, and his hands stroked lazily down Walter's back.
For a long moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Jayce murmured, "Thank you."
The gratitude settled into him like weight. "For what?"
"For this." Jayce's arms tightened around him. "For being... you."
Walter didn't know what to say to that. So he just pressed his face into Jayce's neck, breathed in the scent of sweat and sex and something that was just Jayce, and held on.
They lay tangled together in the dark, the only sound their mingled breathing and the distant hum of the refrigerator from the kitchen. Walter's weight was still pressed fully against Jayce, his knot swollen and locked inside, and neither of them made any move to change that.
The orgasm had left Jayce loose and pliant, his muscles finally unknotted after a week of tension. He could feel Walter's heartbeat against his chest, steady and slow, and the rhythmic pulse of the dog's cock where it remained buried inside him.
Every few minutes, Walter's cock would twitch and spurt another small pulse of fluid.
Jayce had learned to expect it - the small pulses of fluid throughout the tie. It was strange at first, years ago. Now it was just part of being with Walter.
"You're still hard," Jayce murmured against Walter's shoulder.
"Mm." Walter's voice was drowsy. "Will be for a while. Usually doesn't go down until I fall asleep."
"Good."
Walter huffed a quiet laugh. "You just want me inside you all night."
"Maybe." Jayce's tail flicked lazily against Walter's thigh. "Is that a problem?"
"Not even a little bit."
They lay in comfortable silence for a while longer. Walter's knot throbbed with his heartbeat, and Jayce felt every pulse, every small twitch, every occasional spurt of fluid. It was intimate in a way that went beyond sex - bodies connected, neither willing to separate.
Then Jayce shifted slightly, and his hand brushed against Walter's back. His pads brushed raised lines.
"Oh shit." Jayce's voice sharpened, the drowsiness evaporating. "I scratched you."
"Mm."
"I drew blood. I felt it." Jayce tried to pull back to see, but the knot held him in place. "Let me look - "
"It's fine." Walter's arms tightened around him. "It's barely a scratch."
"I clawed your back open while you were fucking me. That's not fine." Jayce's voice was mortified. "I'm supposed to be a professional. I'm supposed to have control - "
"Jayce." Walter's voice was low, amused. "Stop."
"I hurt you - "
"You didn't hurt me." Walter shifted just enough to catch Jayce's eye. "It was hot."
Jayce blinked. "What?"
"I got you to lose control." Walter's mouth curved. "I mean don't make a habit of turning my back into ground beef or anything, but the occasional oops is hot."
"You - " Jayce stared at him. "You're weird."
"Probably." Walter pressed a kiss to Jayce's forehead. "But you're stuck with me for a while, so you might as well get used to it."
Jayce let out a breath that was half-laugh, half-relief. His tension bled out of him, replaced by something warmer. "You're sure it doesn't hurt?"
"It stings a little, but I get worse when I play with my nephews." Walter's hand stroked Jayce's spine. "I'll put some antibiotic ointment on it tomorrow. It's not deep."
"Okay." Jayce settled back against Walter's chest. "Okay. But I'm trimming my nails from now on."
Walter snorted. "Deal."
The silence stretched between them again, comfortable and close. Walter's cock pulsed inside Jayce, another small spurt of fluid, and the tiger let out a contented sigh.
"We should talk," Jayce said eventually.
"About what?"
"About - " He hesitated. "About this. About us."
Walter's arms tightened slightly. "Okay."
Jayce took a breath. "I'm not going to stop hooking."
The words hung in the air. Walter was quiet for a moment, his heartbeat steady against Jayce's ear.
"I know," Walter said finally.
"The money is too good. I've got goals - savings, supplements, a better apartment someday." Jayce's voice was steady, practical. "I can't give that up. Not yet."
"I didn't ask you to."
"I know. But I wanted to say it." Jayce's claws flexed lightly against Walter's shoulder. "I wanted to be honest about what I want. You've always been honest with me."
Walter's hand stroked through the fur at the back of Jayce's head. "What do you want?"
"This." Jayce's voice was soft. "You. More of you. But also - " He hesitated. " - I want to change things. A little."
"What kind of things?"
Instead of answering right away, Jayce pulled back just enough to look at Walter's face. His yellow - green eyes were open, vulnerable, free of the professional distance he usually maintained.
"I don't want to charge you by the hour anymore," Jayce said quietly.
Walter's ears lifted - surprise - then settled. Something warmer took over.
"I want - " Jayce stopped. Started again. "I want to come by more often. Not just every other week. Whenever we both want." His voice dropped. "And I want you to just... pay me once a month. A flat amount. Whatever you think is fair."
Walter was quiet for a long moment.
"That sounds like a sugar arrangement," he said carefully.
"It sounds like what it is." Jayce met his eyes. "I'm not pretending the money isn't part of it. It is. But it's not the only part. Not anymore."
"No," Walter said softly. "Not anymore."
"I'm asking for something that looks like a relationship, with someone I actually care about." Jayce's voice was rough. "Is that - is that something you'd want?"
Walter looked at him - really looked at him, the way he always did, with the kind of attention that made Jayce feel seen in a way that had nothing to do with sex.
"Yeah," Walter said. "That's something I'd want."
Jayce let out a breath he didn't know he'd been holding.
"But," Walter continued, a hint of self-deprecating humor in his voice, "you know what you're signing up for, right? I snore. Loudly. And you're going to be stuck to me all night while I do it."
Jayce felt something warm bloom in his chest.
"I know," he said quietly. "I like the snoring."
"You like the snoring."
"It's..." Jayce ducked his head, embarrassed. "It's comforting. It means you're here. Means I'm not alone." He pressed his face into Walter's neck. "And I like being tied. You know that."
Walter's arms wrapped tighter around him. "Yeah. I know that."
"Good." Jayce's voice was muffled against Walter's fur. "Then we're agreed?"
"We're agreed." Walter pressed a kiss to the top of Jayce's head. "I'll pay once a month. You come by whenever you want. And we figure out the rest as we go."
"Okay." Jayce let out a long, slow breath. "Okay."
They lay there in the dark, bodies still connected, the arrangement between them shifted into something new. There was still money involved - there would always be money involved - but the transaction had become something else. Something with room for tenderness. Room for care. Room for the vulnerability of wanting more and asking for it directly.
Walter's knot pulsed inside Jayce, and the tiger let himself relax into the sensation.
"Thank you," Jayce murmured.
"For what?"
"For not making it weird."
Walter huffed a laugh. "We've been doing this for years. A little financial restructuring isn't going to make it weird."
"A little financial restructuring." Jayce snorted. "Is that what we're calling it?"
"I work in accounting. It's what I call everything."
Jayce laughed - a real laugh, warm and genuine - and felt Walter's chest shake with his own quiet amusement.
They stayed like that as the night deepened around them, Walter's cock still hard inside Jayce, his knot slowly deflating as drowsiness crept in. By the time Walter's breathing deepened into sleep, Jayce was still awake, still connected, still wrapped in the dog's arms.
He listened to the snores start - low, rumbling, unmistakably Walter - and felt something settle in his chest.
This wasn't what he'd expected when he'd started hooking four years ago. This wasn't what he'd imagined when he'd swiped right on a shy Saint Bernard's profile all those years ago.
But it was good. It was real. And for the first time in a long time, Jayce let himself believe that maybe - just maybe - he deserved it.
Walter woke to the smell of coffee.
For a moment, he was disoriented - the weight of another body in his bed, the unfamiliar warmth pressed against his side, the ache in his lower back from sleeping in a position his forty - five - year - old spine didn't quite approve of. Then the memories of the night before surfaced, and he smiled.
Jayce was still asleep.
The tiger was curled against Walter's side, one arm thrown across the dog's broad chest, his face pressed into the thick fur of Walter's shoulder. His orange - gold pelt lay mussed, his striping slightly darker where the sweat had dried, and his mouth hung slightly open, a thin line of drool darkening Walter's coat.
Walter's knot had deflated sometime during the night, slipping free while they slept. He could feel the evidence of their coupling between his thighs - dried fluids, the faint musk of sex - but he didn't move to clean up. Didn't want to disturb Jayce.
The tiger looked younger in his sleep. Softer. The hard edges of his professional persona had smoothed away, leaving behind something vulnerable and unguarded. Walter had seen him like this before - every time they spent the night together - but it never stopped feeling like a gift. Something precious that Jayce didn't give to anyone else.
Walter lay there for a long moment, watching the slow rise and fall of Jayce's chest, listening to the quiet sounds of his breathing. Then, carefully, he shifted.
Jayce stirred.
"Mm." The tiger's arm tightened around Walter's chest. "Time's it?"
"Early. Go back to sleep."
"Don't wanna." Jayce's voice was rough, muffled against Walter's fur. "You're warm."
"I'm always warm. I'm a Saint Bernard."
"S'true." Jayce pressed closer, his nose burrowing into Walter's neck. "You're like a giant heating pad."
"Flattering."
"I try." Jayce yawned, his jaw cracking. "You getting up?"
"Eventually. Coffee's calling."
"Bring me some?"
Walter huffed a quiet laugh. "You want me to bring you coffee in bed."
"Please?" Jayce's voice was drowsy, affectionate. "I'm comfortable."
"You're lazy."
"That too." Jayce's tail flicked against the mattress. "But I'm also your - you know - " He paused, seeming to search for the word. " - whatever I am now. Sugar baby? Kept man?"
"Let's not put a label on it yet." Walter's hand stroked down Jayce's back. "We just figured out the new arrangement last night. Let's give it a week before we start naming things."
"Fair." Jayce stretched, his spine popping audibly. "But I'm still not moving until you bring me coffee."
Walter shook his head, but he was smiling. "Fine. One coffee. Then you have to get up."
"Deal."
He extracted himself from Jayce's grip - a process that took longer than it should have, because the tiger kept making grabby hands and complaining about the loss of warmth - and padded naked to the kitchen. The coffee maker was on a timer, the pot already full and steaming, and he poured two mugs, adding sugar and creamer to Jayce's the way he'd learned the tiger liked it.
When he returned to the bedroom, Jayce was sitting up against the headboard, the sheets pooled around his waist. He looked rumpled and exhausted and completely at ease.
"Here." Walter handed him the mug.
"Thanks." Jayce wrapped both hands around it, inhaling the steam. "Perfect."
"I know." Walter settled onto the bed beside him, sipping his own coffee. "I've had practice."
They sat in comfortable silence, the morning light filtering through the curtains, the coffee warm in their hands. Walter's back stung faintly where Jayce's claws had scratched him the night before, but he didn't mention it. It was a small thing. A reminder.
"So," Jayce said eventually. "What now?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean - " He gestured vaguely with his mug. " - what's the protocol for the morning after we renegotiate our arrangement?"
Walter considered. "Same as always, I think. I make coffee. We talk. You leave when you're ready."
"That's it?"
"What were you expecting?"
"I don't know." Jayce's tail flicked. "Something different. It feels different."
"It is different." Walter's voice was soft. "But the mornings don't have to be."
Jayce looked at him, something warm and guarded in his yellow - green eyes. "You're really okay with this? You're not going to freak out in a week and decide you can't handle me sleeping with other people?"
Walter took a sip of his coffee. "I've known you were sleeping with other people since the beginning. That's not going to change."
"But now it's - " Jayce hesitated. " - now there's feelings involved."
"There's been feelings involved for a while." Walter's mouth quirked. "I'm not the one who started calling me daddy."
Jayce's ears flattened, and his cheeks warmed beneath his fur. "That was - I wasn't - that just came out - "
"I know." Walter reached over and squeezed Jayce's knee. "It's okay. I liked it."
"You liked it a lot." Jayce's voice was dry. "I could tell."
"Among other things." Walter's smile faded into something more serious. "Jayce, I'm forty - five years old. I've been married. I've been divorced. I know what I want and I know what I can handle." He met Jayce's eyes. "I can handle you having other clients. I can handle the money being part of this. What I can't handle is pretending I don't care about you when I do."
Jayce was quiet for a long moment.
"You're going to make me cry," he said finally. "And I don't cry. I'm a tiger. We don't do that."
"Pretty sure tigers cry."
"Not this one." Jayce took a long drink of his coffee. "This one is strong and emotionally repressed."
Walter snorted. "Good to know."
They finished their coffee in silence, the morning warming around them. When Jayce's mug was empty, he set it on the nightstand and stretched.
"I should probably go," he said. "I've got a shift at the store at noon."
"Okay." Walter didn't move to get up. "Thanks for staying the night."
"Thanks for letting me." Jayce hesitated, then leaned over and pressed a kiss to Walter's jaw. "Same time in two weeks?"
"Or sooner." Walter's voice was casual, but his eyes were warm. "New arrangement. Whenever you want."
"Right." Jayce smiled - a real smile, not the professional one he wore for clients. "Whenever I want."
He got out of bed, found his clothes scattered across the floor, and dressed with the efficiency of someone who'd done this many times before. Walter watched him go, comfortable and content.
At the bedroom door, Jayce paused.
"Hey, Walter?"
"Yeah?"
"I know I said it last night, but - " He stopped. Started again. "Thanks. For being you."
Walter's chest tightened. "Anytime."
Jayce nodded once, then disappeared down the hallway. A moment later, Walter heard the front door open and close.
The apartment was quiet again.
Walter sat in bed for a long time, staring at the empty doorway, the sheets still warm from Jayce's body. His back ached. His knees ached. He was going to need a shower and probably some ibuprofen.
But he was smiling.
He got up, padded to the bathroom, and turned on the shower. As the water heated, he caught sight of himself in the mirror - rumpled fur, the faint scratches on his back, the gray around his muzzle more pronounced in the morning light.
He looked like a middle-aged dog who'd had a good night.
He looked like someone who had something to look forward to.
The water was hot when he stepped in, and he let it wash over him, thinking about Jayce, about the new arrangement, about the strange and unexpected turns life could take. He'd never expected this - had never imagined, when he'd first recognized Jayce on that hookup app, that it would turn into something real.
But here they were.
And for the first time in a long time, Walter felt something that felt a lot like hope.
