Chapter Seventeen

"The Power Fur Ranger Con"

We walked into the convention center and were blown away by the crowd of species that came here. Adults and cubs alike came to see The Power Fur Rangers and I even felt underdressed as I saw the other species in costumes.

"Power Fur Rangers, go, go, go, go!!!!" The main theme played as we entered and stood in line to have our tickets validated. Everywhere there were giant posters showing the actors in their Ranger uniforms, maskless, smiling with the actor's names displayed.

Father was barking orders and it seemed funny to say a deer was barking instead of Dad but he was making sure we stayed together and nobody got lost. Not that I could blame him, I could see how easy it would be to get lost. Uncle Jon had been doing the pee pee dance and as soon as we got inside he ran to the nearest bathroom in order to lift his leg. Luckily he wasn't the only one.

"Take my paw, Tyger so we stay together." Dad said to me and I smelled a little bit of sadness that Dash and Lyon choose to hold father's hooves instead of dad's paws. Ben luckily followed suit and gripped my dad's other paw and although it seemed awkward for us to be holding on to them I could see that we were not the only ones doing this.

My focus suddenly changed as a female that was dressed as The Evil Empress, one of the head villians of the show. The girl was cosplaying her and the outfit was almost exact, except she wasn't the same species as The Evil Empress. Both my brother and Dash were drooling over her outfit because The Evil Empress wears a bra that comes out to two sharp points.

"Watch out! She'll take your eyes out!" Dash was laughing and Lyon started laughing with him. I know they get off on her breast covering but I never really got it. Maybe because I like boys that I just don't find that appealing. I suppose if her Emperor Lord husband, the other head bad guy, walked around in underwear that showed off his package. I might be drooling like them.

I mean honestly Ben is everything I need but sometimes when I see hot looking guys I do get curious about them and their size. I sometimes have fantasies of guys in their underwear and I think I've developed an underwear fetish. I dunno what it is. I just like looking at them in undies, especially briefs, but when they strip to their fur I suddenly lose interest.

Father was busy going over the itinerary to see that we can experience as much of the con as we can.

"Dammit," Father grumbled as he looked over the schedule. "They have the 'Meet The Stars' at the same time as the 'Meet the Villains' panel."

"Of course they would separate The Power Fur Rangers from the bad guys." Dad responded and father gave him a dirty look briefly.

"We can split up, but the choice is either to meet the Power Fur Rangers actors or the villains. Anyone have any preferences on which to see?"

"The Power Fur Rangers!" Lyon said and Dash agreed with him.

"OK," Father replied, then he looked at Ben and myself.

"Actually... The villains but I would like to meet the Power Fur Rangers also." I replied and Ben patted me on my back.

"Well, I'd like to meet the villains and I'm sure you want to meet The Power Fur Rangers Leggo. So I'll take Tyger to the villains and you take the others to The Power Fur Rangers." Father said. Dad had a big smile on his face but I saw Ben moving and when I turned to look at him; he shrugged.

We entered the room where the villain panel was meeting and it was packed. If we didn't have the special passes my father bought then we wouldn't get a seat. I honestly thought only a couple of species would come here but I couldn't believe how wrong I was.

We had reserved seats for the front and put his hoof on my shoulder as he led me to the front and we sat after showing the passes to an attendant. The passes were special badges that we wore around our necks with a lanyard acting like a necklace.

While we waited a large television was set up and it was playing clips from the show of some of the stuff the villains did on the show. Stuff where they created monsters to fight the Power Fur Rangers or casting evil spells to use against the rangers. Having seen every single Episode with my brother and dad, I knew these clips pretty well.

"Tyger, I can't thank you enough for buying this for me. I'm honored and surprised that you would want to have me here after everything we've been through." Father said to me as we sat waiting.

"We never would have reached our goal if you hadn't given me the remaining sum we needed... So while we're alone, honestly, did you know about it?" I asked and he began to pet my head.

"Yes! Now don't be mad at Uncle Jon but as a school official he is required to tell me these things. I thought long and hard and realized that the amount you needed was one you could not attain at your ages right now.

Hearing that Lyon and Dash were involved especially drove me to action because I didn't want to crush your spirits. Plus I figured if I gave you just enough then you guys could spend the remaining amount on yourselves. You know, so you would have something to show for all the hard work you've done." he explained.

Uncle Jon walked over and awkwardly passed by us to get to his seat. We both looked at him because we thought he was going to go with dad and the others to the Power Fur Actors.

"You came with us?" I asked as he sat and then he looked at father and myself.

"Well... your dad is... um... puppy-like today and I thought I'd rather be with the adults." he replied and I chuckled.

"Yes he does love acting like a puppy," father replied and Uncle Jon stared at him with a touch of sadness that father could get away with saying that dad acts like a puppy when he was forbidden from saying it. It was like a secret code that only my father and dad can say to each other.

I punched Uncle Jon on his arm and he whined then looked at me.

"You weren't supposed to tell him." I said and he looked at me then at father.

"You told him?" Uncle Jon said to father but he just shrugged.

"You know that Tyger is very perceptive. There is no way it would be kept secret for long." Father mused.

"Ladies and Gentlefurs! May I have your attention please?" An announcer said over a microphone as his voice boomed throughout the room. Everyone stopped and turned to face the stage. The lights dimmed slightly to add to the effect.

"Power Fur Ranger Comic Con is pleased to present to you..... The villains... oooooohhhhh," He said, adding a spooky voice to the end.

"First up I present the actress that does the voice of The Evil Empress, please welcome Barbara Aves-H." A female hawk entered as she stepped out onto the dais. She walked up to the center and bowed as she had a big smile on her face. The white and browns of her plumage almost seemed to blend making her look tan. She looked nothing like the Evil Empress on television, who was a female komodo dragon.

"Next up meet the voice of The Lord Emperor, may I present Rob Cervus-D!" A male deer entered and he was older than my father but I saw my father clap proudly as he saw that he was the same species as him. I guess I could understand the pride of seeing someone that is the same species as you starring in a role like this.

The real Lord Emperor on television was an old aged dragon with huge razor sharp claws and he would breath fire as he got angry that the Power Fur Rangers beat his latest plan. Although I knew it was all pretend, it was sometimes hard to remember that.

"The voice of The Gold Flying Ape, we have Mahan Primate-G." I was surprised that an actual gorilla was the voice of The Golden Flying Ape because so far the others had been different species.

Each entered went to the center then bowed and went to a table and chairs set up for them with microphones so they could speak to the audience. Once the cheering had stopped of course each went to the table and sat waiting as the next actor was brought out.

"The two remaining actors are gonna join us shortly because they are performing the opening of the show that they created, at the other panel." The announcer was saying and Uncle Jon leaned in.

"Luckily tomorrow they are doing the panels again so we can see that performance when we go to meet the stars."

"Tomorrow?" My father and I whispered then he took out the schedule and slapped his forehead.

"I never even read the next day," Father gripped and I chuckled.

"Looks like someone was acting like a fawn," I joked and he gave me a slight smile as he tried to glare at me.

"Leggo, Lyon, Dash, and Ben entered and sat as they waited for the event to start. Leggo and Dash were practically hopping up and down in their seats like cubs.Ben tried to be the adult and scold them but he was ignored. Lyon was busy looking nervous and his ears were lowered as he sat patiently waiting. Ben looked over at him suspiciously and when Lyon saw him looking Lyon turned away embarrassed for some reason.

"Power Fur Rangers enthusiasts, welcome to The Power Fuir Rangers Comic Con!" An announcer said into a microphone and the cheering and applauding was deafening. Everyone rose to their feet and clapped and cheered and as it seemed to be going on and on the announcer motioned for everyone to be seated.

"So let's get this show started... but first before we introduce the ones everyone is here to see, I think we need an opening that is appropriate for The Power Fur Rangers. Let's have the two cast members that not only star in the show but are also the creators of the theme song kick it off for us. Please welcome Slash and Ghoul!!!!" The announcer shouted and the lights dimmed as the cheering started again. With the light dimming the room quickly fell silent then the actors that starred as Slash and Ghoul entered as the theme song began to play.

"Movin in like lightning," Slash said. He was Large pig that wore sunglasses.

"You never know what they're gonna throw at you," Ghoul was a large male skunk and he had sunglasses on also like his partner.

"Don't give up" Slash sang.

"Just Stand Your Ground" Ghoul sang. Then they both sang the rest in unison.

"The Fight is Tough but We're Behind you... Go, Go, Go, Go," They both began to dance where They would stick out their left legs to the side and use their right arms to point to the sky. Then they would quickly switch so that their right legs stuck out to the side and they used their left arms to point skyward. They kept switching as they recited the remaining part of the theme.

"Power Fur Rangers Go, Go, Go, Go!!!" They said then the room erupted into thunderous applause as they completed the song. Both bowed to the crowd as the announcer joined then and stood in the middle as he waited for the room to quiet.

"Paul Suidae-P and Jason Chordae-S are your bullies, Slash and Ghoul!!!! Give it up!!!" The announcer said and the room erupted again.

"We unfortunately have to say goodbye to these two as they join the villains panel because... they are villains! We thank you both for joining us." The announcer said and the actors walked offstage as the room kept applauding them.

"Now the moment you've all been waiting for!" The lights dimmed again and a large television set up in the back began to play The Power Fur Ranger theme on repeat. The music filled the place and strobe lights began to flash.

"Introducing The Red Power Fur Ranger, also known as Lion, meet Austin Panthera-L!" A large lion entered and waved to the crowd as he was dressed in a sweat suit like what he character wears on the show. He entered and bowed himself then waved to the audience.

Ben watched Lyon scream and cheer and although he seemed mute compared to the rest of the room. It made Ben smile to see him so happy. Ben figured he must have been nervous to meet the actor he named himself after.

"The Black Power Fur Ranger, also known as Reddy, give it up for Walter Lupus-W!" A red wolf entered and did a short dance then waved and bowed to the audience as everyone was cheering and applauding.

"The Blue Power Fur Ranger, also known as Brian, is David Aves-O!" An owl walked out steadily and bowed then smiled and waved.

"The Yellow Power Fur Ranger, also called Terry, meet Thuy Maeropodinae-K!" A female kangaroo hopped out and punched the air in front of her as she looked sternly then bowed and a big smile was across her face. She waved to the audience before going to her seat at the table.

"The famous and my personal favorite. The Pink Power Fur Ranger, also known as Lisa Amy Passeridae-S!" A female sparrow walked out and she wore western attire except for the hat and she bowed and waved. She had a guitar with her that she placed next to the table then she reclaimed it as she went to her seat.

"Lastly, The one we've all been waiting for," he paused for dramatic effect. "The White Power Fur Ranger, also known as Tom, Jason Panthera-C!." The room erupted again as a housecat entered and he was a tortoiseshell cat. He was a later addition that had become one of the most popular Power Fur Rangers. He entered and placed his paws pressing together with the fingers pointing upwards against his chest as his eyes were closed.

He quickly opened his eyes and did a series of three martial arts jump kicks then he bowed and waved to the audience. He sat and the actors all greeted each other, someone said something and the group started to laugh among themselves.

"Tyger is gonna wish he had seen this!" Lyon was saying and Leggo hugged him.

"So let's begin by asking the question everyone has. Amy, what is the deal with the outfit and the guitar?" The announcer asked. This brought a chuckle from the audience as they waited for her response.

"I'm going to be releasing my new independant movie titled 'Higher Ups' so I'm here promoting it. I've been involved with a number of independent films because I believe there needs to be a voice apart from the bias of Hollywood. I feel they have a voice that society needs to hear." She said and a few species clapped politely.

"So what's the movie about?" The announcer asked.

"A southern city girl leaves her home to find life and love in a world of a bigger city. She must get used to how things are different and how she tries to fit into the world. With only her music to guide her she soon meets the man of her dreams and falls in love.

She then gets discovered and she learns she must make a choice of her music or her love and how she came to make the choice that she did. You can find details and airing date on my website." She explained.

"Now in episode 142 both you and Walter sang a song for Jason's birthday in the show. Was that really you guys or did someone else sing and you guys lip synced?" The announcer asked.

"That was actually us, believe it or not, Amy is an excellent guitar player and we had been given the words and she wrote the melody then I sang to it." Walter explained and they got more cheering from the crowd.

"Why don't we open the panel up for audience questions?" The announcer said and the crowd cheered as a microphone was brought out and different species went to stand in line to ask questions. Lyon and Leggo stood up and went in line. With their VIP passes they were bumped to the front of the line. Lyon stood there with his ears down again as he waited for his turn.

"Hi... this is for Austin, who plays Lion the Red Fur Ranger," Lyon said nervously and Leggo put his paw on his son's shoulder to steady him. "Please don't be mad but I named myself after you. My birth parents hated me because I have white fur and they originally named me The White Disaster. Then they sold me as a slave and I met my brother Tyger. When he asked me my name I told him it was Lyon.

Later, my dad bought us and set us free and after the vet put his blood in us he became our dad." Lyon said and the crowd awed as he told his story.

"Then we met and we play football as The White Disaster duo and we are gonna turn the sporting world on its head, YEAH!!!" Dash yelled from his seat and there were polite chuckles from the crowd.

"Lyon, I think it's an honor that that is your name. I got a feeling that in a few years I'm gonna be asking for your autograph. You're a lion like me so just remember, anytime you get scared all you need to do is... Roar! Let it out and change the world... little brother." The actor said and Lyon blushed as the audience applauded.

We left the panel and it was amazing talking to the villains and seeing how they are nothing like their characters on television. Father even asked a couple of questions to the actor that does the voice of The Lord Emperor. I think my father was really impressed he was a deer.

"Maybe we shouldn't have left your dad alone, he's probably gonna be peeing all over the place." Father was saying and Uncle Jon laughed.

"I think that's one of the reasons why security is so strict, is to stop that from happening." Uncle Jon replied.

"They don't know my husband," Father retorted. Leggo, Lyon, Dash, and Ben came over and met with us as Lyon and Dash kept telling me how amazing The Power Fur Rangers were.

"How'd it go?" Father asked dad.

"Great and... Lyon met the Red Fur Ranger and he said it was an honor that Lyon named himself after his character. I'm not sure he was going to cry more, me or him."

"Turns out the one who does the voice of The Lord Emperor is a deer." Father said with a smile on his face.

"No shit, you're kittying me, right?" Dad asked. Father chuckled and gave a look to assure him.

"Hey, let's grab a snack before the next event." Uncle Jon said and father quickly replied.

"Why not, you look cute doing the Pee Pee dance."

"That's not funny," then Uncle Jon got into an argument with father but father kept his cool as usual.

We moved to an area where tables had been set up to relax and eat from the vendors nearby. After we each gotv a meal we sat down together to enjoy it but my focus was on Lyon and Dash as they kept making faces to encourage Lyon to roar for some reason. I watched with my tail flicking and then suddenly realized I had been ignoring my boyfriend. Luckily he was focused on what the adults were talking about.

"When you roar you gotta put up your paws like this." Dash said and I rolled my eyes ignoring them as a smaller rabbit was trying to teach a lion how to roar. I mused that you get better advice asking a goldfish how to fly.

"Actually, there is something we need to talk about," Father said and the seriousness of his tone caught our attention. Well everyone except Dash and Lyon as they still played at how a lion roars. Note to self, to slap them later for being so ridiculous.

"I'm going to be taking a little trip once we get back home. That white wolf, BH, tried to abduct our boys and I intend to find out why. I set up a strike team to guard my back, just to make sure they don't try anything, but they are a last resort because the hairless apes are an endangered species." Father said.

"You can't be serious! You're going without me?!" I interrupted and the adults looked at me but I was focused on my father as his piercing eyes gazed at me.

"Is there a problem?" He asked calmly. I wanted so badly to slap the spit out of his mouth but as he was demonstrating, I needed to behave more like him and calmly explain my objections. I took a deep breath and emptying myself of emotions I continued.

"I wholly disagree with your assessment that you can handle the situation without me." I replied calmly and both dad and Uncle Jon smiled and softly chuckled as father raised an eyebrow.

"Oh really," Father replied calmly and we both glared at dad and Uncle Jon as they started to laugh louder. They saw us and gestured that they were staying out of it and then they turned their attention on Dash and Lyon. All four began to practise how a lion roars as they held up their paws like lion claws next to their maws as they softly made roaring noises. Father and I both covered our faces and shook our heads.

"You will be returning to school in a few weeks and there is no telling how long my trip will last. I cannot afford to keep having you miss school!" Father countered.

"Is the wealthiest fur in the world really telling me that he cannot 'afford' anything?" I replied dryly but still kept myself calm but I saw the rattled look in his eyes as he realized I was matching him in this latest battle of wills. I could tell he was looking for a way to unhinge me to get a better advantage. I knew I could win if I kept this on the same level as when I play chess.

"There is no need for you to come along. You will serve no purpose because even as BH explained the only reason he wanted you was to have a bargaining chip to get advantage of me." Father explained trying to add a little dig in to try and stir me up.

"Then let's give him the bargaining chip so he will be compelled to reveal why he wants you. If he thinks he has me then he'll be foolish enough to monolog his plans. The only thing he won't realize is that we are in control with your strike team to guard us. If it gets too hot they can extract us." I replied.

"As a last resort! The last thing I want is to have my team kill the apes. They are an endangered species! What you are suggesting is risky and possibly suicidal." Father said as I saw him becoming a little unhinged.

"You can't seriously think I'll let you just wander into a dangerous situation like that?! We you and I team up, our plans become unbeatable and that is the edge you need! You need me to unhinge that wolf and if he thinks he has me in his clutches then we can lure him into a false sense of security and gain the upper paw. You know I'm right, you just don't like to admit it." I said and father looked at me calmly.

I suddenly wondered if he had been playing with me the whole time! The sneaky bastard was trying to lure me into his side by playing hard to get. I saw a thin small smile creep on his face and knew I was right.

Sometimes he really pisses me off!
