It started at the coffee shop (WIP)
A second person greentext, involving yourself (Anon), and a sassy, talking German Shepard known as Lilac. What will ensue? Read and see.
Human/Feral(Sapient)
>Be you
>Anon
>Barista at local Starbucks
>It wasn't anything good, but money was money, and you weren't about to fret
>Wasn't really much to do either way, serve coffee to snoby folks, occasionally have to deal with that one moron who got something off of tik-tok, and listen to your boss ramble on about how the state of the economy was about to collapse
>He was a weird one him.
>Never the less, you heard over the line that there was a new trainee coming in soon, apart of this new “awareness" campaign that the corporation was having on.
>You sigh to yourself, thinking that it's going to be another rich-kid, or some boring Instagram thot who hasn't anything else to do but snapchat about how everyone else but her was the cause of her problems, and that men were bad or some shit.
>Never the less, you do your best to get through the shift, opting to worry about that when it came to be.
>Mid-way through serving someone a latte, you turn to hear your boss call you into your office, sighing as you probably guessed he had another virus or something that he got off of pornhub or something.
>As it seemed to be, it was none of that, as aside from you there was what you could only describe as a beautiful German Shepard laying across from you on the char.
>She seemed nervous as hell, again knowing your boss you couldn't blame her.
>"Anon, we need to talk"
>Oh god had he found your search history? You were damned sure you used tor-guard effectively.
>"This here is Lilac, and she will be our new trainee since Helen got fired."
>Oh for fucks sake, it wasn't your fault, some dumb bitch was yammering on about how the guy who was on a date with his Golden Retriever was “obstructing" her sense of mind, it was justice that you fucked up her drink.
>The German Shepard in question gives a slight chuckle, as she looked between you and your boss as if begging you to release her from this hell.
>Again you couldn't blame her.
>"I expect you to be on your best behaviour, as if you do a good job, this will go well on your end of year report. And it'll make up for that last time. You too Lilac, you're new here, so I'll forgive you for the first week, but I expect you to catch on quickly."
>"Will do boss…"
>Her voice even had the dry tone of pain, suffering, and sassy dry-humor
>She'd fit right in you could tell.
>With that though you simply nod, giving the Shepard a smile, as you motioned for her to follow you out into the front.
>On her way out you notice her ever so subtly move a rolling ball that was used to prop open the door over to a space where your boss wouldn't see it, so he'd end up slipping into the bin. Giving you a wink as if to say “don't say a word"
>A bit early to it you had to admit, but you could honestly get used to this one.
>It was approximately twenty minutes later
>You are still Anon
>Currently walking Lilac through the various bits and bobs in terms of the machines
>Mostly involving pressing buttons for whatever coffee you needed, but the occasional mixing here and there.
>You wouldn't want to get her into the powdered and ice-ed stuff yet, lord alone knows how she'd react to powdered chocolate.
>You were honestly surprised again, she seemed to grasp the basics rather well.
>Well…as well as she could anyhow being a dog. As it were her paws seemed to slip up from time to time when doing more intricate things like pulling levers and the like
>She wasn't getting the cash register anytime soon it would seem
>Surprisingly though she seemed to remain quiet all through it all, occasionally flicking her tail back and forth.
>Why you weren't sure, if she was happy, bored or something else.
“And that about does Hot-drinks 101 think you can handle it?"
>Your masterful knowledge of how to brew dirty bean water has come in handy for once, honestly showing her a couple steps to skip that would still end up with the same mixture in the end
>She seemed thankful nodding in turn, you turned back around suddenly feeling a slip on the ground.
>Yelping you end up face to floor staring right up at a now giggling German Shepard.
>Closer inspection showed that there were some marbles on the ground, the tail wagging she was doing was a masterful attempt at getting them spread out.
>Cheekycunt.
>"You really don't keep your eye on things do you Anon?"
>Huffing you roll your eyes as you dust yourself off, doing your best to balance to avoid slipping again. Hearing her begin to laugh even louder
>"Man you are out of shape, really got to work on that balance."
“Hah, hah very funny, is the beads on the floor trick your only move. What's your next bright idea?"
>Training her was gonna be a hastle already you could tell.
>"I've got tricks for days"
“Like what, fetching the stick?"
>Your eyes locked at that matter, as a smile seemed to slightly spread on your face as well. Turning around as you heard the sound of someone clearing their throat.
>"Umm if you two are done, would you be willing to take my order."
>No rest for the wicked it would seem, as you spun back around to the cash register, Lilac seeming to take to her position at the brewer without any problems this time around.
>1 hour and a half later
>Still Anon
>Bored as fuck
>After the person who came in interrupted your joking moment with the new trainee there really wasn't much else
>Some dumb kids, but other than that nobody of note.
>Suddenly you hear a whistle from behind
>Turning around you see Lilac hovering over the whipped cream
>Dear god no
“Uhh, maybe you shouldn't do that."
>"Oh come on, it can't be that bad."
>You were sure she was planning something, and honestly going in would probably get you fucked over like last time…but you didn't want to get fired, nor did you want to get her hurt.
>She was cool, and honestly despite the prior marble event, she seemed like someone you could become friends with.
>As such you bite the bullet, moving yourself over to where she was. Not noticing the smile on her maw as she stepped to the side.
>It'satrap.png
>With the tell-tale deer in the headlights look, you notice that she had somehow managed to rig a pully system of sorts via string, two coffee cups, and…the hell did she get a motor? Did she dismantle part of the machine?
>No time to think about it though as you felt the thing snap with a twang, taking a deep breath as you fully knew nothing good was to come.
>As such, the hammer would fall there in after, your eyes going over to the bucket on the upper part of the shelf.
>With one small step for man, and one giant leap for being an idiot, you felt the bucket smack onto your face, grunting as you fell backwards, your body mostly covered in the sweet-smelling condiment.
>You could hear her laughing it up as it were, as you groaned, tossing the thing off of you.
“Was that really necessary, now I got to get these things cleaned."
>She seemed to stop for a moment, her brows creasing. Heck you could almost swear there was some regret in those brown eyes.
>"Here, let me help you."
>She only had paws, how was she…
>You're caught off by the dog licking the whipped cream off of your face, hands pretty much your entire body. Your cheeks coming to raise for a second, as you could almost swear she was blushing as well.
>Needless to say ten minutes later you were clean, and she stepped off of you.
>Typical smile coming back to her.
>"Better?"
>You only nod in return, sighing internally…yep she was gonna be a handful.
>Sighing as you stood up and began to dust yourself off, you move back to your station.
>You couldn't help but try to think back to the scene though, that blush was probably just the moment, you were both rather close to eachother, so it made logical sense.
>You didn't opt to think about it for now, turning to notice the time as well that basically told you you were on break.
>Finally some time to chill, and catch up on things that you'd prefer to be doing right now.
>Opening your phone, as you heard the tapping of claws come closer.
>It didn't take long till you felt fur against your leg and back, turning as you noticed Lilac peering over your shoulder.
>"What're you up to?"
“Umm…break, shouldn't you still be working?"
>"Naw, boss said that since I'm with you I basically take the same shift as you."
>Lovely, well you supposed there could be worse things in life.
>Sighing you opt to put your phone away, as ironically now despite the short time it was, would probably be the best time to get to know more about her.
>She seemed to get the same idea as well, and opened the conversation.
>"So…tell me Anon what brings you to this fine establishment?"
>Really.png
“Nothing to do, really. It was the best job I could get out of the door. Which honestly says more about me than it should. What about you?"
>She seems to perk up at that, like it was the first time anyone had asked her anything about her personal life.
>"Oh! Well, ever since the new act got placed for us animals to get in on stuff like school, I've been trying to make something of myself…granted being a dog it's a bit awkward having to be one of the few people in Engineering. But hey, I still think it's pretty cool!"
>Damn you impressed, cute and smart, she'd be a keeper that was for sure. But you were certain that she already had a boyfriend or something.
>Ever since the event 12 years ago that found animals to have sapience and in turn speech, things have been quite a different. It was slow going at first, most people didn't adapt to it well, heck most were scared. But regulation was passed, and eventually things started to even out.
>It started with speech first, getting as many of them to learn English or whatever their home country's language was.
>More mobilization than the Soviets it had been said, it was honestly a unique sight.
>From there things started opening up for them, as more and more scientists tended to find out they had intellect and iq of varying levels, so they eventually got things like work, school, unions, heck even government elected officials.
>Of course things like dating also came about. Human and animal relationships boomed tenfold. You remember the first big innovation of the age after discovering this was the feral dating apps.
>You'd tried a couple yourself, in fact had a one night stand here and there, that you never mentioned to anyone.
>That snake was nice, you think you still had her number actually.
>You always wondered how it started to begin with, prob some mad-scientist maybe? Or was it always like this? You were no genius so really things were just speculation for you
>Getting back out of your thoughts though you nod to her in turn, giving a glance of approval.
“I'm impressed, not many animals have gone for that from what I know. You must be pretty smart. I'm surprised you're stuck in a dead end job like this, with the likes of the weirdness of our boss, and me."
>She seemed to be taken aback by that.
>"No! I mean, your boss is kind of weird yeah, heh, but you're kind of cool. And honestly I really wanted to try it either way. My friends say getting a job like this really helps getting to get a feel of the world…and helps in meeting cool people."
>You didn't hear the last bit, as she whispered it, prompting you to furl your eyebrows. You let it rest though, as she seemed to be trying to muster up the courage to say something else.
>Though you highly doubted it was what you think it was considering you just met.
>It couldn't be right?
>Never the less, you opt to hear her out.
>"So I'm wondering if after we get out of here you'd wanna come hang out with me later? I mean, you seem pretty chill, and we could use someone like you."
>We?
>Did she mean her friends…or.
>That latter thought made you sad for some reason, but you pushed it out of your head just as quickly.
“Heh come now someone as smooth as you probably has their hands…er paws full with the best of the best I'm sure. You really want me tagging along?"
>She seemed to furl her brow again at that, before scoffing.
>"Pshh don't get me wrong man you're worse for wear, but I see enough potential not to cramp my style."
>Ah yes, that's what she was going for.
>Alright you'd play along, letting her hang on the words for a moment, giving a neutral stare before nodding.
"Sure sounds great, time and place?"
>"Umm…"
>She seemed caught, maybe she didn't think she'd get this far?
>"How about town square at…eight?"
>Seemed reasonable enough.
“Alright sure, I'm game for that."
>Hearing the call for you two to get back to work on things you spin back around as you readied to get into this hell…Was this a date or were you overthinking it you wondered?
>Hmm, to be fair it did have all hallmarks for such, especially with how she reacted when you told her you'd be cramping her style.
>Time would tell you supposed, as you got back to your shift, your eyes going to Lilac time to time.
>Surprisingly she didn't seem to try any more pranks on you, infact her tail seemed to be wagging the entire rest of the shift.
>Heh cute.
>About five hours later
>Still Anon
>Your shift was let out about ten minutes ago, Lilac having had bolted for the door in a seeming fit of happiness before you could even talk to her.
>Again cute.
>Clocking out for the day you do your best to head home as fast as you could.
>Yes that did mean going down the weirdass allyway that gets you shanked.
>You've played enough Dark Souls, you weren't afraid.
> You had he power of god and anime on your side.
>It didn't take long to get back to your apartment though, slipping in through the door and waving to the guard there. As it were, another German Shepard, and his partner.
>They were cool, snuck you random shit like cigs from the contraband section in the back.
>As you ran up the steps to your dusty-ass apartment, your mind only seemed to continue racing about the day's events, and in turn the upcoming ones.
>The same question seeming to repeat over and over as to if this was really a date.
>Reach room 404
>Key in, tumbler, nice.
>Hello sweet stench of broke
>Looking at the clock you see that it's 6:30. 1 and a half hours to the meet, and the walk to the square was about 20 min, so you had about…40 min give or take just to be sure to meet her on time.
>Get to work, shower, shit, clean.
>Shave a bit even.
>Dig through your bin of a drawer for some extra cologne, you almost were sure you had one that was good for German Shepards.
“Let's see…Husky, Retriever, Poodle…Wolf? Huh, that's never gonna happen.
>You finally found the one you were looking for, spraying a small cloud onto you.
>Last checks, wallet, keys, extra money.
>You eyed your drawer again, sighing as it was probably best to have some protection as well…just incase.
>Tossing it into your pocket you make your merry way on, soon enough managing to reach the square with a mere…two minutes to spare.
>Now for the moment of truth.
>Be you
>Lilac
>You had just rushed out of your first day on the job, after a successful shift.
>More so, after successfully finding someone you'd really liked.
>You made a mistake though, ie you jumped the gun and asked him too early. Feeling worried about fucking something up, you try to double time it over to your apartment.
>It was a small flat, nothing fancy, but it did mean you got your privacy away from something like the dorms.
>Your mom had gotten you through most of the rent, but you wanted to aid her, hence why you got the job in the first place.
>That and well…you really did need to get out of the house between, studying, labs, and well midnight game sessions
>How you did so well with paws you did not know.
>Either way, back to the matter at hand, how were you going to not mess this up?
>Barging in through the door woke up your roommate, Celia. She was a rather lovely Husky that you met not to long ago. You were best friends, despite the divide in work, her being a more outgoing Husky who worked in transport, and you being a techy Engineer.
>Even with the sassy personality you had, your other bits of your shined through easily around her, that she seemed to enjoy all the same.
>"Hey dork, what's wrong?"
>She sounded like she had been out for awhile, guessing a late night transport that needed her or something.
“Oh you know, work was fine, met a guy, asked to hang out with him in a couple hours and Ireallydon'tknowwhattodopleasehelp!"
>She blinked once, then twice, then let out a happy screech of joy. Her snow white coat seeming nearly getting in your face as she quite literally lept in the air.
>"EEEE! I'm so happy you found someone you like! Don't worry I'm gonna get you through this."
>Thank god she was such a lifesaver, you knew she'd have just the thing in mind!
“This is not what I had in mind."
>Ie one hour later after showering and cleaning up, with her having had fully picked out a stylish set of clothes for you…well stylish being a relative term.
>Seriously where in the hell did she even get these?
>Sighing you look to her with a concerned glance, but her constant giddy, and upbeat tone to the whole situation, made you go along with it anyhow.
>You really hoped Anon liked this.
>"Now, just remember, smile, be polite, and just…enjoy yourself. Really and truly just make him see the real you. The clothes are just the icing on the cake.
>You were hyperventilating not ten minutes earlier about what to say, do, etc, and thankfully once again she was here to help.
>Just…there was one thing.
“You're the best…however we have one extra bit of problem."
>"What's that? Money? I don't mind lending you some if that's the case. Food choices? Oh I know a few lovely spots that might help you out. A mean ex? Don't worry I'll sort her out…"
>The heck was that last one?
“No-No…god no. I mean, I sort of made a mistake and said “we" would like him to join us. My friends well…the couple I have aren't really…up for this sort of thing, do you think maybe you could…"
>Celia seemed to stare at you for a moment, her somewhat amber brown starting into your deeper ones. Your cheeks seeming to get redder by the moment.
>However she soon would smile and nod, using her front paw to ruffle your head fur, said fur even combed into sort of a sideways bit that sort of resembled a nice fringe.
>Hurray she was down for it!
>"I have just the crew on standby, too, not to worry Lilac, you can count on us to be your eyes and ears in the field."
>Oh no she and her friends were down for it
>You didn't know them all that well, but you knew Celia would get them up to speed quickly, that and she and her friends weren't typically the type to try and go after another's date.
>You knew that from what little times you've met them. Would they embarrass you though?
>Was this going to end badly…dear god you could only hope not
>Be you again
>Anon
>Present time
>You were pacing around the middle of the square, things were in full swing for the night, there was people at one of the bars close by laughing and drinking, some restaurants seemed to be packing in a full house, and even the stray person and or animal seemed to be giving a song.
>You opt to throw in a dollar to one of them, which gives you a fond smile in return.
>Where was Lilac though?
>Were you being stood up?
>You did just meet after all, heck maybe this wasn't even a date
>But she didn't seem like that type of girl
>You begin to ponder it on your fifth circle around, wondering if you got played like a shmuck
>You ironically begin to feel sad about it too if that were the situation, taking a deep breath as you began to feel a sting in your eyes.
>Maybe you should just go-
>"Anon! Hey!"
>Turning around you find…oh dear lord
>Jawtofloor.mv
>It was none other than Lilac, and well…by hell she was gorgeous
>Her fur looked silken and smooth, her brown and blacks mixed in with some colors of purple here and there in just the right spots like around her ears, and close to her tail.
>Her eyes seemed to have been done up a tad too, noting a slight bit of makeup around the edges
>Other than that her clothes consisted of what appeared to be a set of spiked bracelets on each paw, and a mix of what looked like a jacket-blouse of sorts, that hung ever so slightly around her mid-section.
>The jacket in of itself seemed to be of a more emo-punkish design too, slightly raised collar and having that oh so tell-take bits of spikes on the ends.
>And the way the top of her hair looked was the cherry on top. Somehow she managed to comb it to have sort of a spiky fringe.
>She even seemed to have done up some piercings on one of her ears.
>10/10 punkdogwaifu.png
>You found yourself blushing as she made her way up to you, your eyes panning to the other three on her ends as well
>A Husky, of a pure white coat, another German Shepard, and…a Golden Retriever by the looks of things.
>They all seemed to be sporting a similar look to Lilac, which you guessed meant that this was the “we" she was talking about.
>The Husky seemed to push her forward as she reached infront of you, noting that she was blushing just as much as you were.
>"Uhh h-hey Anon, you look really nice. Thanks for coming."
>The poor girl seemed to not even be able to look you in the eye, and you couldn't pick your damn gob off the floor.
>A chuckle was heard from behind, as your eyes turning to the Husky.
>"You must be the Anon she mentioned she met. My name's Celia, and the other two with me are Rachel, and Maddie.
>Said Rachel and Maddie waved at you, seeming to have a somewhat smug look towards Lilac.
>Again your jaw was still on the floor.
>Brain rebooting
>Memory clear, fans spinning up, error levels of cute too high. Recommended action, don't be a sperg
>Rebooting, welcome back Anon.
>As your internal systems decided to come back to green you were finally able to speak to the cute before you
>"Wow…you look amazing Lilac.
>Nailedit.jpg.
>Your gawking aside, she seemed to be utterly in the same positon as you are.
>Ie trying to reboot herself, as she seemed to just be constantly wagging her tail back and forth at your compliment.
>Hearing a cough from behind you, the both of you jump from your locked-in stare to eachother, to Celia, who had the biggest shit-eating grin a Husky could pull off.
>"Well it's clear you two are gonna have a good time. But the night is young, and as much as I'd like to have to watch you two lovebirds…lovedogs? Hounddogs? Does that even work in this situation?"
>Where was she going with this?
>"Whatever, I don't want to waste the night away, so…shall we get a move on?"
>Lilac would shake her head as if to snap herself back to reality once more, before looking between you and her before nodding, her tail still wagging, as you simply formed up beside her and the others.
>You weren't sure what to expect, but you guessed Lilac had a plan or something.
>Be you
>Lilac
>You had utterly no fucking plan
>Celia said she'd handle everything after you got here, and now after that stare of doom you were worried you'd blown your chances forever!
>Oh no you were going to have to go back to dating apps again!
>You'd be stuck with only your engineer friends with the only male contact being your weekly dnd games.
>Then they'll leave and you'll become a weird crazy mouse hound!
>You couldn't stomach that pressure!
>Celia seemed to catch onto your internal spiel of damnation as she nudged the two of you ever so closer, by the looks of it the place was kicking up more and more, and there seemed to be some kind of performance of sorts going on.
>Some stage act or something, which seemed to be why the restaurants were more set outside tonight, and there were more caravans outside selling food.
>It seemed even she was surprised by this, but you knew she knew how to improvise.
>"Hey Lilac, I think I saw some wicked drinks on the way back, why don't you take Anon around to where the show is and grab something to eat and we'll meet you there."
>Was this gonna work?
>You didn't know if Anon was into alcohol either, so what If he just went with her.
>Oh no this was going to fall apart wasn't it?
> Besides that was so cliché…but you really didn't think that would-
>"Yeah sure sounds like a plan"
>HOLY FUCK IT WORKED!
>Nodding she jokingly hit your nose with her tail as she and the others moved off in a line, noticing as they soon separated and moved around to gain a better view on you.
>Anon somewhat wasn't noticing as he was looking at…
>The cotton candy machine?
>Huh, you really didn't expect that.
>"You want some? Lilac?" You'd hear him call over.
>Nodding you opt to pad over to him, sighing internally as you try to calm yourself down.
>This would be fine, this would work.
>You see him leaning over the console of the cotton candy for a bit, while the person serving it wasn't looking.
>You had another one of your brilliant ideas, as you moved your tail up just around his legs.
>From there you made it so that he'd lean back against you, and in turn slightly tip into the machine.
>A sudden gasp of surprise from him, as he ended up with a face full of thread-like delciousness, which you could only laugh at in turn.
>The way it looked making him look not unlike a wizard
“Tell me anon, for this shall I not pass?"
>The man running the stall seeming to smile at your little joke, as he handed Anon a cone, yourself getting one in an easier to manage bowl of sorts that you could hold in your paws.
>Manufacturing of animal-held items was a big thing on the agenda after the event, and by god was it am amazing turn from having to attempt to hold things with your tail.
>As for Anon himself he'd chuckle a bit and roll his eyes, wiping it off with a hankerchief, yourself opting to lick the remainder off of his face from the mishap not unlike the prior situation.
>Blushing profusely though the both of your break apart with a stupid chuckle from the both of you, faces flushed , as your heart began to race once more.
>You see Anon move to eating his own set though, as you smile and move up beside him doing the same with yours, calming yourself as you walked with him.
>The both of you spinning the corner and heading down to where the show was being held.
>From behind some brush you could almost hear with your enhanced hearing of Celia's voice.
>"Phase One complete"
