Part Eight

Jason is not sure how he manages it but somehow he gets an appointment with the doctor's office for a couple of weeks from now. It is still the day he has taken the test to find out everyone is right but it has been hours since breakfast with Lula. Luke's mother headed over to Jason's parents to give the two some space to just accept and relax for the day.

At Jason's home, Bennie and Annie are talking with Lula. Lula says, "He knows for sure it is true now. But I can see how scared he is. He reminds me of how I felt when I first was pregnant with Luke. I was terrified since I was barely older than they are now when my ex made me pregnant. I know somewhat what to say as a mom but in his case, it may be even scarier."

Annie nods as she sighs, "I want to comfort and reassure him. But I know that there is a limit to how many times someone can say something before it just becomes annoying. I want to be there to support Luke and Jason. I remember how scared I was and Bennie was so scared that he fainted when I told him about being pregnant."

Bennie chuckles at the memory as he says, "Well to be fair you didn't even try to hide it. You just outright said we were going to be parents so time to make a nursery. Any male who just came home from work is going to be shocked into silence or fainting with that kind of greeting."

Lula and Annie just laugh about it with Bennie as it is true. Annie admits, "I was way too blunt about it but we were already married and trying for a baby at that point. Jason was a planned child since we both wanted to be parents. In Jason's case, I feel maybe we gave into our kids desire to be with their mate. I feel bad about not being more forceful on keeping them from ending up like this. But most teens do what they are told not to."

This makes all three adults fall into silence as it is true. They should have done more to keep this from happening but at the same time a mate bond is not going to let time be a factor. If it wasn't this time, it would have happened soon for the two to mate and complete the mating bond. Annie speaks up, "We can't change the past. So let's make a future for them. Now I know we don't have extra land to give them a home just for them. But if you do Lula, maybe we can surprise them with fixing up a spot just for them far enough away for independence but close enough to be of help."

Lula grins as that brings a good idea to her mind. She says, "I bet the boys have the same thought. I have that nice size garden shed that came with the house. I have maintained it but I never did do anything with it. It is at least the size of a small cabin. We could expand it just a little bit and create a two bedroom home for them to start out in. There is more than enough space between my house and where it is located. We can even add some privacy features if we work the money out right."

Bennie sighs as that is the one thing they have to worry about as well. The money to raise a child, let alone to improve a place into a cottage home is not easy to come by. Lula is well enough off but even she doesn't have endless millions to put into whatever she wants. Annie says, "My art has been selling pretty well lately. Maybe I can help by making a few more paintings and sell them to help towards the cost. Plus I can paint and decorate the walls to suit both boys. It would save us some money."

While the adults plan and think of ideas of how to help the boys get a start into being independent young parents, the two boys in question are currently cuddling and laughing at a comedy on the TV. Jason says with tears in his eyes from laughing, "Wow, did she really not know that was a trap? And he fell in right after her so they are both stuck."

Luke is laughing too hard to answer as it is pretty funny. On the screen two wolves are now stuck in a hole in the ground waiting for help. Of course the female wolf is acting like she is not attracted to the male wolf. Jason is watching this unfold on the screen as he knows like most romantic comedies that they are going to kiss at some point.

Jason cheers as he is proven right about ten minutes later when the wolves are kissing moments before someone they are friends with pops their head over. This makes the cat and tiger laugh again as such a romantic moment is interrupted. Luke grins at Jason as he says, "Now if that was us, I would tell that person to wait until we were done making out."

Jason smirks as he says, "If that was us, we wouldn't be in a hole but a tent with no reason for anyone to bug us." The cat suddenly has a great idea. He says, "That is what we should do. We should go on a camping trip this summer. It can just be the two of us so we can relax and not stress about anything."

Luke considers it and says, "I can see us doing that for a weekend or so. Depending on where we are going so that we can be safe. Also prepared for however many days we are up at the camp area. I think there is one about an hour away that is a safe but fun place to camp."

Jason nods as he hugs Luke happily with the agreement. The feline says with a grin, "We go to my doctor appointment then once that is done we talk to our parents about letting us go for a weekend. We can drive there since we both have our licenses. I know your mom gave you a car for your birthday that should be okay to go that far together."

Luke chuckles as he says, "You only know that because you need rides from me to school most days because you don't have a car yet. But we can take it out to the campgrounds. Most of those roads are fairly smooth and shouldn't do any harm to our only wheels or to our child. For now let's plan out what we want to do so when we talk to our parents we have a solid plan."

The following two weeks slowly passes by as the teenagers are busy with their own plan and the parents are busy with their plan to make a home for them. They have even thought of just giving up one of their own homes to the young couple. But Lula is still young enough that she may meet someone someday worth living in her home with. So they have to focus on the other place that is going to take weeks to work on.

The day of the appointment arrives at the one month mark in the pregnancy. Jason is starting to show a faint bump since most anthro felines are only pregnant for about six months. So that means growth rate for this one is most likely that long or a month longer given being a mixed breed baby. Luke carefully drives his mate to the doctor office. This office has dealt with pregnant males before so it is the best spot for them. Some of the older couples and staff give the two a strange look when they finally arrive and enter the waiting area.

Jason whispers to Luke, "Why are they looking at us like that? I don't like how they are judging us for being such young parents..." This is one of the newer feelings that have been present with the feline omega recently. Jason has been more anxious and nervous lately. Like today with so many rude people making silent judgments about them.

Luke whispers softly, "It will be alright. They don't matter. What matters is the little one we get to know more about today. Remember the doctor promised us that we can hear the heartbeat at least today. Just focus on how amazing that is going to sound."

The words work a little as the anxious feline calms slightly. It is not enough to really calm the young male feline down, but it is a starting point. The mate bond is helping focus the good as Luke sends positive energy as best he can around him to help Jason. Finally the nurse calls for them and leads them to a room with a portable machine for ultrasounds.

Jason settles onto the bed in the room while the nurse takes his vitals and information. Luke silently holds Jason's hand when he can to reassure his nervous mate. The nurse sees the mating bite on each of them and knows this is one of the mated pair types. She smiles softly as she says, "You are going to be fine. I can see you two love each other very much. This little baby of yours is going to be so lucky to have you two as parents."

Luke asks, "Do you have kids?" He is trying to be polite but he is nervous too. He is just a little better at hiding it right now. The nurse nods as she says, "I have a little one who just turned four. In fact the doctor you are seeing today is the one who dealt with my pregnancy. So you are in good hands."

Jason smiles a little at the nurse as that does help reassure him a little. The comment from someone who has been through this that is not one of their parents is appreciated at this point. It is helpful at this moment to hear such a reassuring answer from the nurse. Jason is still really nervous about how the baby is doing and what will happen to him. The cat is not even sure how he will give birth. Luke feels just as nervous as he hasn't found much in the books he has on how an omega male gives birth.

The nurse leaves them a few minutes later to get the doctor. Jason fidgets as Luke just softly hums for his mate. Lately the humming has been the most effective way to ease his mate. So instead of talking, the tiger just goes to humming softly. Jason starts to relax as the sound makes him feel at ease. The feline is not sure why the sound is so effective but today he is grateful for it.

The doctor is a kind looking older male with a few streaks of silver in his dark red hair. He is one of the best doctors in the hospital in this field. The older male introduces himself, "Hello, I am Dr. Marks. I understand that this is your first pregnancy. I am just here to help check on the progress and remind you about a few dos and don'ts."

Luke has stopped humming at this point and Jason is starting to feel even more nervous than before. The feline looks at Dr. Marks and sees that their doctor is a feline. The coloring is more of a gray tabby type for the doctor's appearance. Jason nods as he says, "Yes...I am worried about this. I am male and still adapting to the whole carrying a baby."

Dr. Marks looks at them both as he sees the mating mark. He nods as he says, "Ah yes, so you are a new omega and your mate is the alpha at your side. This is a confusing time for any male in your situation. However, I have seen males give birth to babies just as beautiful as any a woman gives birth too. I am sure your baby will be just fine and when you hold him or her, it will make all the scary parts of this fade away."

Luke holds Jason's hand as they listen to the doctor. Some basic questions were asked. There are questions about diet, morning sickness, and many others to check on where Jason is at the moment health wise. Finally after almost twenty minutes of just talking and learning, Dr. Marks gets to the part that he promises is the best part of this appointment.

Jason and Luke watch in awe and nervously as the doctor puts a cold gel on Jason's tiny baby bump. Then the wand moves around for a couple of minutes before Dr. Marks grins at the young couple. He says, "Well you two have a healthy baby in there. From what I can see everything is where it should be for a month along. I estimate your baby will be here in about five more months. Now I bet you and your mate want to hear the heartbeat."

Jason nods in relief to know the baby is doing just fine inside of him. The feline still feels like it is strange but at least he doesn't have to worry about the baby. Luke nods as he says, "Please, I want to hear our son or daughter's heartbeat."

Dr. Marks presses a button and suddenly a soft but strong heartbeat can be heard in the room. Jason's eyes tear up with joy at the fact that is their baby proving just how strong he or she is. Luke even has tears in his own eyes as he looks at Jason in awe of their little miracle.

Dr. Mark smiles as he loves this part of the appointment. The next best thing is letting a couple see their new baby while it is still in the womb. While the young couple is in silent awe, the doctor puts together some information pamphlets for the couple.

Luke whispers to Jason, "That is our baby. He or she has such a strong heart. I wonder who this little one will take after." Jason just smiles at his mate as he says, "My guess is that our baby will take after you. I can see a mix of black cat and tiger with your eyes and hair."

Dr. Marks chuckles softly as he says, "You two won't have too much longer to wait. Around the fourth or fifth month I want to see you two more often. But for now, about once a month should be fine to keep track of the baby's progress. A winter baby is in your future."

Jason nods as he says, "I like winter and I bet the baby will too." He is starting to feel a little less nervous now that he knows all is safe and well. Luke asks, "Is camping going to be an okay activity? I am thinking just swimming, walks, nothing too strenuous."

Dr. Marks nods, "Of course it is okay. Just pay careful attention and don't let your mate fall. Right now is the most important time of the pregnancy. So keep this young man safe and you two will be fine to go camping."

Jason looks to Dr. Marks as he asks the question that is pressing on his mind the most right now. The cat asks, "Dr. Marks, how am I going to give birth to our baby?" The nervous feeling is starting to come back as he thinks about giving birth.

Dr. Marks is just smiling gently in a fatherly kind of way, "Your body will adjust and make sure that you give birth safely. Part of being an omega male means that your body adjusts to carrying a child and giving birth to said child. My mate is an omega male. So I learned all I can about this."

After that, they are sent home with a recording of their baby's heartbeat and all set up for another appointment next month. The words at the end of the appointment are ringing in Jason's mind as he starts to feel a little less nervous. Maybe this won't be so bad after all. Luke drives them back home only to find that his mother and Jason's mom have set up a nice lunch with an air of adults wanting to talk.

Jason starts to feel the strong nervous energy coming from his mate and he feels the same as he looks at the adults seated around the table. Annie smiles warmly as she says, "How did the appointment go? Please sit and enjoy lunch. We can talk as we eat."

The mated pair of young males head to the table to eat with their mothers. Jason answers his mother's question, "It went well. We heard the baby's heartbeat. Luke had tears in his eyes when we heard it." The feline laughs a little teasing his mate.

Luke grins as he says, "I wasn't the only one. But I admit that was the moment I am so glad I was there for." He is still scared of being like his own father but for now to reassure everyone around, he is hiding that fear. Lula notices something in her son's eyes and plans to speak with him one on one very soon.

Annie just laughs at the boys' banter with each other. She nods as she says, "Well, we have good news for you two. Your father wanted to be here for this but he agreed that you two should know as soon as possible."

Jason looks at his mom in confusion. He asks, "What do you mean? What do we need to know about?" He is feeling even more scared all of a sudden. He fears it is bad news. Luke takes Jason's hand trying to comfort his mate as the tiger hopes it is not bad news.

Annie can see that she caused some fear so she says with a smile, "Oh boys it is not anything bad. We just have a surprise for you. Wipe those scared looks off of your faces." She doesn't speak again until she sees her son and his mate relax at last. Finally Annie says, "We are going to fix up that garden shed and expand upon it so that you two can have a place to live rent free. That way you two can focus on raising the baby. You two will probably want something better in the future but this is a starting point as you focus on school, life, and work when you have jobs to worry about."

Jason finally smiles as he says, "We had talked about maybe starting there. Thank you so much mom and Lula. I have to thank dad too. But we should get summer jobs to help pay for it too. I want to help in any way I can so that the baby and my mate have a place to call home."

Luke chuckles as he says, "You didn't have to scare us like that. But thanks, we really appreciate it. I agree with Jason. We should help pay for this as it is a big job. I can even help on days off when building." The tiger really wants to go camping with Jason but now that plan may have to go on hold until their home is done.

Annie and Lula share a look before Lula speaks up, "Now boys, we will have it covered for now. You two should find work but only so you can pay bills and raise that child. We will help when we can but this is our gift to the two of you so that you can enjoy college life after your senior year is over with a place of your own."

Now that the scare is over and there are all smiles around the table. The two women and the mated pair enjoy a nice lunch talking about the doctor appointment and even about the camping trip idea they had. To Jason's surprise his mother and Lula both agree that it would be good for them to go on a camping trip next month since summer is not that long. Once summer is over, it will be their senior year of high school.

Annie is worried though since her son will be giving birth during December, which is during a school year. The high school has shown in the past that it is not that kind to those that are pregnant while in high school. Annie and Bennie are already prepared to fight the school if they must so that their son can graduate without any issues.

For now though Jason's mother pushes such thoughts aside as there is no point worrying about what has not happened and may not happen. When lunch is over, Annie and Lula go to do the dishes while letting their sons go off to do some summer homework they have for one of their AP classes that they will be in come the fall.

Annie smiles as she says to Lula, "At least they are not the type to put off doing their homework. I can't believe they are already heading to their senior year of high school. Before we know it, this time next year will be them graduating and preparing for college if they choose to go to college."

Lula nods with a sad yet happy smile as she thinks about such things. She finally responds, "Indeed, they are growing up so fast. They have always been more mature than most boys their age. I am so proud of both of them. We should give them a wedding when they are ready for it. I know the mating is enough for most mated pairs. But it would be nice to celebrate with family and friends at a wedding too."

Annie's eyes widen with joy as she says, "That is a great idea. Let's wait and see if the boys choose to go that route but I agree that we should do it if they say yes to it." This female feline has dreamed of the day she would see her son married since the day she held in him in her arms that very first time. For now their sons are young and not yet of legal age to marry, but in time they will most likely end up wanting that for themselves anyway. It doesn't hurt to think about it now as a possibility.
