Ainge's Changes, Part 29
Imported from SF2 with no description.
December 1992
It was only late afternoon, and the sun was already hanging low in the sky.
"I don't know if we're going to make it," Mr. Ainge said in a worried tone.
"We'll make it, don't worry," his wife said back, almost annoyed at the apparent panic in her husband's voice. Usually Tommy's dad was in charge of driving, but both Tommy and his father decided that his mother would be best suited for driving to the gathering this time - just in case they did end up running late. It was only after they pulled into the park gate and checked in with the ranger that Mr. Ainge finally breathed a sigh of relief.
For Tommy, this was the second time he got to participate in a pack gathering. But so much had changed since the last one that it felt like a brand new experience all over again. Things had managed to settle down to practically normal - considering the disruptions from the last couple of months - and the last gathering of the year was going to be a chance for everyone in the pack to return to some sense of normalcy. The sights of several dozen other people milling around, preparing for the night's activities, were now familiar to him as Benny directed the car to its parking spot.
Tommy and his parents piled out of the vehicle, and Benny offered Mr. Ainge a handshake.
"Cutting it awful close there, are we?" Benny joked.
"Sorry," Tommy's father said sheepishly. "I had a hard time convincing my boss that I needed to leave work early. I think I might just take the whole day off next time something like this happens."
"Luckily, you won't have to worry about it for another year," Benny explained. "The days will be getting longer by the time the spring gathering comes around, so you should have plenty of time to make it over here. I was just getting a little nervous about you guys coming in after moonrise. Really didn't want to have to have to discipline anyone on my first night."
"So they made it official?" Tommy asked.
Benny smiled and nodded. "Not much to discuss. I was second in command already, and it seemed like the most reasonable thing to do after what went down last month."
As they were talking, another latecomer pulled into the parking area, right next to the car that had brought Tommy and his family. Ryan and his father climbed out of the car and joined the group.
"And we have another county heard from," Benny joked as he greeted the newcomers.
Ryan quickly ran to Tommy's side with a familiar enthusiasm and excitement to what Tommy had felt a few months ago. No doubt the rush of sensing so many auras around him had a similar effect to when Tommy experienced the same. The two boys hugged each other as Linus exited the car, dressed in what looked to be full Paladin regalia. The royal blue uniform seemed ill-fitting for the man, presumably after over a decade of sitting unused in a box somewhere. But the gold fleur de lis symbols that sat atop the shoulders, along with the black trim that encircled the cuffs and collar of the top, gave him an air of importance and gravitas despite the fit. He walked to the other grown-ups and exchanged pleasantries.
"Your wife couldn't make it?" Mr. Ainge asked.
"She's at home with the baby," Linus explained. "This whole thing about living around werewolves is still a bit unsettling to her. I figured it's not fair to drag her to something like this when she still doesn't know what to make of all of it." He looked over at his son, who was practically bouncing in anticipation. "On the other hand, it looks like some of us can't wait to get started."
The grown-ups all stopped to look at Tommy and Ryan, still locked in an embrace until they realized how many eyes were on them. Tommy sheepishly broke the hug, and his father laughed at the sight of Tommy's face turning red from being caught in the act.
"Look at them," Tommy's father quipped. "It's so adorable that they're still worried about someone noticing them. Like I don't know what pheromones smell like now."
Tommy rolled his eyes. "Dad, stop! You're embarrassing me!"
"So when's the honeymoon?" His father continued.
"Probably tonight," Linus remarked, playing along with the ribbing.
Tommy's mother swatted her husband in exasperation. "That's enough, Michael!" She shook her head as the men chuckled knowingly at their sons. "For God's sake, it's not like we need to know every intimate detail of what they're doing."
"It's all right, Helen. I'm just getting all the jokes out of the way while I can still talk."
The watch beeped on Benny's wrist. "10 minute warning, guys. Ryan, you had those tailshorts made for you like I told you, right?" Ryan nodded eagerly. "Great. You and Tommy can go into the trees over there to change. Michael, stick with me for tonight so I can introduce you to the others in the pack. Linus, Helen, you should be able to find the trailer."
"You're taking to this Alpha thing rather quick," Mr. Ainge commented.
"After the last two months," Benny sighed, "I think I'm pretty much ready for anything. All right, I'll see you after the change."
Tommy's father gave his mom a quick kiss before he departed with the new Alpha into the distant woods.
Linus crouched down to his son's eye level. "You stick with Tommy tonight, all right? I don't want you running off into the woods alone."
"All right, Dad," Ryan replied, giving his father a hug before Linus and Tommy's mother walked to the trailer to wait things out. When the coast was clear, Tommy and Ryan ran off to a private spot in the forest where the two of them could be alone.
As the sunlight began to dim on the park, Tommy and Ryan quickly made their way to an open spot among the trees where they could change without being disturbed. With the surroundings growing ever darker, the boys made their preparations, kicking off their shoes and socks, pulling their shirts off and setting them neatly on top of the footwear. They looked into each other's eyes once more.
"I can't believe we're doing this," Ryan whispered.
"Yeah, right?" Tommy replied softly. "Like, a few months ago things were happening to me I couldn't explain. And then you came along, and then I found out about the pack. It's all happened so fast I still feel like I'm dreaming sometimes."
Ryan smiled. "I'm so glad I met you, Tommy. I used to read books about magical places and fantastic creatures when I was younger, and it wasn't until I discovered you that I saw just how real things like that could be." He giggled. "Remember that first day? You came over while we were moving in, and I was still acting like some weirdo."
"I know," Tommy recalled. "We went to the park, and the first thing you did was pull your pants down in front of me."
Ryan laughed. "Right? I was all, 'Ta-da! It's my wiener!' And you ran off like you saw a ghost or something."
Both boys laughed.
"I thought you were a cute kid then," Ryan continued. "But I never dreamed that meeting you would change my life like this."
"Or that you would change mine," Tommy added. "Funny thing was, I thought you were cute too. I was just scared of being caught." The older boy looked around. "Well, I guess we don't have to worry about that anymore."
The smiles between them dulled, as they locked gazes once again.
"I love you, Ryan. I've loved you from the day I met you."
Ryan stared back at Tommy, then sighed. "Who ever loved that loved not at first sight?"
Tommy furrowed his brow at the reply, but quickly figured out what Ryan was doing. "That's Shakespeare again, isn't it?"
Ryan nodded enthusiastically. "As You Like It."
Tommy laughed, and closed the distance between them. Their lips locked in a kiss powerful enough to make them both close their eyes and wrap their arms around each other. And the only reason it finally broke was because the lightning strike of the transformation hit them both.
Even as their bodies underwent the slow progression from human to lupine form and the rush of sensations flooded their senses, Tommy and Ryan continued to stay close to one another. A hand on a shoulder, a lean forward to nuzzle a cheek, even a lick on the neck as Ryan's tongue momentarily outgrew its oral housing. There was nothing lewd or crass about their ministrations, only the tenderness of two boys who loved each other dearly and now finally had the chance to be open about their feelings without fear of being caught or persecuted. It was only when Tommy's muzzle began to grow from his jaws that he finally pulled back, tipping his head up as he enjoyed the alien feeling of bones and muscle stretching, fangs growing, fur sprouting atop his adolescent features. When his tail finally emerged from the back of his shorts, it wagged in excitement as the final stages of the metamorphosis careened to completion. And neither boy could help themselves as the organs between their legs reshaped and grew, growing above the waistband of the only clothing they were wearing at the time, revealing a pair of young erections that pulsed needfully. Ryan reached his peak first, and cried out to the skies as a stream of essence jumped out of the exposed tip, spilling out onto the soil in front of him. Perhaps triggered by the reaction to Ryan's orgasm, Tommy quickly followed suit, a healthier pair of white ribbons rocketing from his lupine penis, pointed away from the couple to avoid causing a mess. When the intensity of the climaxes subsided, they fell back into each other's arms, catching their breath for a few seconds before they howled in unison, joining in the chorus of howls that had already begun around them.
Minutes later, the pack began to coalesce around the fire pit that had been constructed in the center of the campsite. Tommy once again marveled at the wide array of wolves that surrounded him, many of whom had been so gracious when they welcomed him to the pack just three months ago. But this time, it was one specific wolf that he was focused on. Standing right alongside Benny, directly across the bonfire from Tommy and his friend, there was Tommy's father, in his new form. He hadn't seen his dad like this since the last full moon, when a bite from Anthony Grey combined with his status as a false positive caused him to immediately transform. Now Tommy finally had a chance to see his father's lupine form in a safe environment, and he gasped in amazement when he took in his dad's new appearance.
As a wolf, Tommy's father looked beautiful. A mottled coat of brown and black fur, with just a dash of gray on the top. The friendly and simple features that he had as a human carried over perfectly. Even though he only became a werewolf last month, it was clear by looking at his dad's face that he'd already made peace with the change.
Tommy ran to his father and gave him a hug. Even without the ability to speak, the nonverbal cues of Tommy's head being gently stroked by his father's paw and the smooth, soft rumble coming from deep inside his father's the chest was plenty indication of how they felt. Tommy looked into his dad's new golden eyes and smiled. "You look awesome as a werewolf, Dad."
His father gave him a toothy grin, and they let go of each other as Tommy's mother and Linus joined the group.
Benny took his place standing in front of the fire, and the rest of the pack grew silent as the new Alpha began to speak.
"As we begin tonight's gathering," Benny explained, "I'd like to bring the Ainges and the Coltons up here for recognition." He motioned for the two families to join him at the head of the campfire. Tommy, Ryan, Linus, Michael, and Helen all stood in front of the pack.
"I'm not one to make big speeches. All I can say is that the pack owes a debt of gratitude to all of you. There's no telling what might've happened if we hadn't discovered Anthony's past as a former rogue Paladin, and his involvement in the deaths that we suffered years ago. Maybe he would've stayed undercover for the rest of his life. Maybe something else would've set him off and he would go on another reign of terror. Who knows. But I can stand here now and say that our pack is now safe because of your help. The fact that another member of the Paladin Order risked his life on our behalf shows me that it's time for us to stop fighting.
"Linus and I have been talking with the leaders of the Paladin Order. They've been given a full account of what's taken place here, corroborated by a former member of the Order. We'll continue to have these negotiations over the next few weeks, but for now I am I happy to announce a truce between both sides."
Gasps of surprise and relief could be heard from the audience.
"We need to understand the Paladins as much as they need to understand us. As horrific of a past as there's been between us, we have an opportunity now to learn from each other and start building trust between Paladins and werewolves. If we can do that, we might soon find ourselves working together rather than fighting each other." Benny looked over at the man dressed in the Paladin uniform. "Linus, did you have anything to add?"
Linus nodded in confirmation. "All I can say to you is... thank you for protecting my son. I saw the fear in his eyes when he looked at me last month, and I knew then that something needed to change. We're not living in the middle ages anymore. It's obvious that werewolves can live among humans without posing a threat. All the damage that's taken place the last 50 years is a result of the fighting itself and nothing more. The Order has been slow to realize this, and it's obvious that not everyone shares this new philosophy, but they're coming around. And you can trust me when I say this - I will personally see to it that this hostility comes to an end. For the sake of my son."
Although the applause was slow to come at first, it was clear that the pack was at least receptive to the idea of the Paladins working alongside the pack leaders rather than fighting against them.
"All right guys, that's all the important stuff," Benny said loudly. "Now let's get those grills fired up!"
That was all that needed to be said for cheers and howls to erupt from everyone in attendance.
After all the food was consumed, and after that night's discussion of lore - one that reiterated a need for werewolves and Paladins to set aside their old ways and come together - the pack scattered off into the forest, to let their wild sides run free for the night. Tommy and Ryan ran like wolves, as far from everyone else as they could manage, to a secluded clearing where the full moon was plainly visible in the sky and silence lingered in the air. Once they were both certain that nobody would interfere, their tailshorts came off and the fun began.
What took place between the two boys was no longer a clumsy exploration of their anatomies, or a delicate dance to avoid causing harm to the other, or a simple release of lustful need. This was the chance they had both been hoping for ever since they met - the chance to make love. Tommy quickly took the lead as Ryan lay on his back, digging between Ryan's crevice and probing his entrance with his tongue until it was ready for entry, receiving feedback in the form of yips and barks and yowls from a mouth that still wasn't fully versed in human speech.
When the younger wolf was properly prepared, Tommy climbed atop his mate, with his pink rod primed for consummation but still just peeking outside of the sheath, just like his former Junior Alpha had taught him. It took a moment for him to direct the tip at the exact target, but once he found his spot he slid right in, causing Ryan to wail at the sudden fullness that had invaded him while Tommy howled at the warm tightness that surrounded his member.
The thrusts were slow and elegant, as there was absolutely no reason for either of them to hurry. Ryan's blonde fur cushioned his mate as Tommy lay on top of him, their arms wrapped around each other tightly. Tommy could hear Ryan's satisfied panting in his right ear as their heads pressed side by side, giving them both plenty of opportunity to cuddle with each other as they continued. When Tommy felt his knot finally start to plump up after more than 10 minutes of their dance, he was almost disappointed that it was going to end. But he wasn't about to deny the rush of pleasure that was awaiting him, and he began to grind the bulb into Ryan's anus, the ring of muscle slowly giving in to the girth of it. Ryan yelped loudly when the knot slipped in and tied them, the pain of entry counterbalanced by the bliss of his mate filling him to the hilt, and the cascade of lupine seed spilling into him quickly followed. Tommy lost control of his faculties as the strongest orgasm he'd even felt in his young life seized him, quaking atop Ryan as his pleasure center went into overload.
Needless to say, they weren't done. As Tommy quietly waited for his knot to go down, he began to focus on giving Ryan the same high he'd just experienced. Using his long, skinny tongue, he groomed Ryan's torso and stomach, teasing him by not touching the slender red organ that pulsed lewdly between them. There was a moment when Tommy bent down, lightly tickling the tip of Ryan's penis with his nose, but that was the extent of the contact he made. He knew he was driving Ryan crazy with need, but he had a plan in mind - a plan he finally put into action when his canine cock finally released itself from Ryan's body. In one fluid motion, Tommy flipped onto his hands and feet, lifting his tail to present himself to the younger wolf. He didn't just want to be mated, he wanted to be taken, and it was clear he was going to get exactly what he wanted when Ryan jumped on top of his back, growling ferociously as he desperately tried to penetrate Tommy's hole. When he finally did, it was just a matter of seconds before Ryan's knot swelled up to tie them a second time, and a flood of jism shot into Tommy's innards. They howled in unison, as the ecstasy of the moment and the wild instincts controlling them overwhelmed their human sides.
For the rest of the night, the two were inseparable. They finally joined up with the other boys - Andy, Travis and Jose - and all five of them spent a good portion of the night running the perimeter of the forest, mischieviously chasing after squirrels and birds and engaging in the same rambunctious play that young wolves use to learn how to hunt. All the while, there was nothing to suggest that Ryan was any different or any lesser than the others. Ryan was a full-fledged member of the pack now, and was treated as such. There was even a point just before dawn when the five of them engaged in a little sex play as well - but it didn't go anywhere as far as what Tommy and Ryan had done earlier in the night. The recognition that the two had a bond already meant that no wolf would ever try to break that bond.
When the sun finally began to rise on the pack, Tommy and Ryan slowly faded back into human form. And when the reversion was completed, the first thing either one did is share another warm embrace.
"How'd you like your first gathering, Ryan?" Tommy asked softly.
Ryan struggled to hold back the tears of joy that were welling up. "Oh my God, Tommy... It was incredible."
As they put their clothes back on and returned to the campsite, Tommy and Ryan walked side by side, hand in hand. They arrived to find their parents waiting for them, knowing fully when what they'd been up to all night knowing better than to ask. Benny as well was there to greet them.
"You guys ready to head home?"
"Not really," Tommy replied, giving Ryan a knowing glance that was quickly returned with a grin.
"Come on, kids," Linus ordered, handing Ryan a new change of clothes. "You still gotta get to school in a couple hours."
"Fine..." Ryan replied, feigning annoyance. Tommy got a similar set of clothes from his parents, and they both ducked behind a tree to quickly change into them.
As they drove home, Tommy watched through the car window as the sky slowly brightened, watching the human world come back to life after what was just another crisp December night for them. He looked over at his parents, quietly listening to the talk radio station that unemotionally read the news of the day.
"Mom... Dad...?"
"What is it, Thomas?" His father asked from behind the wheel.
"You guys aren't... mad at me, are you?"
"Mad at you?" His mother repeated in confusion. "Why would we be mad at you?"
"Well... I'm just thinking. Six months ago, none of this was happening. I was a normal kid, and you guys were parents of a normal kid. Then I find out I'm a werewolf, and then all the stuff happened with Ryan, and then Dad gets turned into one too. And I feel like maybe you guys'd be mad at me for that." Tommy sighed. "I dunno... I guess I feel like maybe I ruined your lives or something."
Tommy's mother looked around to the back seat where Tommy sat, giving off that trademark motherly sigh that always preceded comforting words. "Thomas, don't be silly. You didn't ruin anyone's life. This is life. Life is about changes, and how you handle them. When we got married, that was a change for the better. Then I found out I couldn't conceive, and that was a negative change. But then we adopted you, that was a positive change."
"And then when you guys found out...?"
"Thomas, don't be so hard on yourself," his father chimed in. "It's not like we're going to stop being a family because of what happened. We just have to adapt to it. Your mother's right - we all change. Some of it happens quickly, when I got bitten last month and suddenly I'm a werewolf too. Some of it happens so slowly you barely notice it, like how you and Ryan went from being friends to something more significant. It's not the changes themselves that matter as much as how you react to them. You're going to go through even more changes as you grow up. Maybe nothing as radical as what you've been through, but they're bound to happen sooner or later. Work towards the good changes, and don't let the bad ones knock you off track. If you can do that, it doesn't matter what life throws at you."
It was all a little too heady for Tommy to digest all at once, but at least he understood the premise of what was being said. He gave his a small adolescent shrug from the back seat and looked back out the window.
The changes that Tommy Ainge had gone through over the past six months had certainly been dramatic. Once a normal kid living with adoptive parents, now a werewolf with a mate and a pack looking over him and his family. As the road signs and other cars went past him, and his family sped back to the human life that was awaiting them after a night of revelry, Tommy couldn't help but smile.
He couldn't wait to find out what changes were in store for him next.
