Alaskan Love
#46 of Writing Group Challenge
This is for a writing challenge in a Telegram group I joined (link here if you're interested: https://t.me/joinchat/TXMB1RU1ETeKOakg). At just over a thousand words, we would write a short story fitting a chosen theme. The new theme for this week is, "Outside the cabin, the wind howled; inside, the fire was nearly out."
I hope you enjoy what I came up with! :D I really like these two characters so much, I might make a longer sequel.
Outside the cabin, the wind howled; inside, the fire was nearly out. Rather than let it be snuffed out, I carefully dropped another log atop the embers to feed the flames, and they roared back to life.
Jared still hadn't returned yet from his day-long commute to Alaska City. I continued waiting for the burly brown bear to noisily burst through the door on the other end of the tiny wooden structure. Besides seeing our essentials, some books for me, and maybe a new movie or us to watch on the old DVD player, all I wanted to do was pull him into a tight hug. Almost two full decades of living as bushmen in the Alaskan tundra made us dependent on each other, after all. Still, when Jared didn't show up after an hour and his cooked food started to go cold on the table, I didn't let his portion go to waste.
I didn't know why he choose to join the life with me, back when he just finished college and I finished saving enough for the move up north. He'd already faced societal and familiar exile for daring to come out to his folks, while I happened to be a black bear from the foster system nothing left to lose. With nobody but each other, Jared didn't hesitate to join me in the drive from Idaho through British Columbia and the Yukon to our new home, a small property three dozen miles north of Alaska City. A place where two ursine poofs like us could be ourselves without the fucking world to care. It had to be one of the best decisions of our lives.
Sure, we missed some modern amenities of civilization, but the lack of them made us appreciate the more important things to care about in life. Like each other.
The door suddenly flung open, and cold air entered for a second or two, before a heavily coated brown bear stumbled in carrying some bags. I didn't even hear the snowmobile come in; the wind was that loud outside.
"Honey, I'm home!" He chimed merrily. "I got us some goodies!"
"Hey, Jar!" I happily stood up from the fire and walked ten feet to the kitchen table. A finely carved piece of furniture I crafted myself, alongside most of the cabin. "Is that ramen? What the fuck's 'chili flavor' anyway?"
"New flavors have come out since last year," Jared explained. "I also bought some new morning tea to try, plus a few slices of that spicy chicken you liked from last time."
"Mmmm." I sniffed the second bag and felt my stomach rumble. "How's the outside world?"
"We got a new president that's been sworn in today," he mentioned with an insane shrug. "Sounds like a jackass to me, but all city slickers are, y'know?"
"Dude, you and I were city slickers," I reminded him with a half-teasing growl as I helped him place the items away in the correct cupboards.
One of the new DVDs he bought was an action film titled 'Jacob Candle' and a nature documentary about life in the Siberian wilderness. No doubt something wonderful for us to watch after dinner the next evening.
For the moment, I was more focused on a stirring in my loins. I was happier to have the love of my life back in our paradise, far away from the hateful world.
"Missed you today." I held him from behind and kissed between those twitching round ears. "Sorry I didn't wait for dinner."
"That's okay." Jared gave me a peck on the cheek, turning around whilst he pull me back into another hug. "I would've come home earlier for dinner, but I got held up with gas, then something went on with the snowmobile I need ya to take a look at later tomorrow. Thank God I still got back here."
"Want me to cook you some grub?" I asked, concerned. "I still got some leftover duck we can mix with that weird chili-flavored ramen ya got."
"Later, Cam," he beamed, then chuckled with devilish intent, "but after I have a taste of some...other meat."
The stirring in my loins hardened to full mast. My lewd grin matched his as the cabin suddenly grew hotter than it did seconds earlier.
Without blinking, I pinned my mate to the wall, and he squealed delightedly when my ursine fangs nipped at his bare jugular. Jared submitted to my large paws fondling his thighs, groping under those frosted jeans to reach each of his toned ass cheeks. Two muscled globes of fur forged from years of living off of the grid and out in the Alaskan wild alongside me. When I sniffed his nape, I could certainly taste the scent of deodorant, but also unwashed mask and frostbitten earth. A mixture of smells we were both used to yet could never get enough of.
He whimpered my name, "Nnnngh, Cameron...I need you."
I stripped the winter clothing off Jared at lightning speed, discarded my own long johns and T-shirt, then carried my squirming mate to our massive bed in the corner of the cabin. Flames devoured the chopped long within the fireplace nearby, crackling behind the mesh fireguard. Yet despite the thriving fire, everything felt fucking cold. At least, until I set Jared atop the sheets and underneath my hulking, black-furred body, thick cock already eagerly set to penetrate between those firm globes and raised tail presented to me.
After applying some lube (which I smartly decided to leave next to the fire, lest my bear cock turned frozen solid from the chilly touch), I stared into his bright eyes. They reflected back such devotion I could never describe.
All for me.
"I love you, Jared."
"I love you too, Cam."
The gruff taste of tobacco on his breath didn't negate the fact I could never stop kissing him. I could never quit pressing my scarred lips to his, feeling them fully engulf mine as our leathery tongues slowly danced for dominance. In the end, I always won once my shaft slid perfectly inside him, and he relaxed into my strong arms.
As we started making warm love and our moans began ascending over the howling cold wind outside, our cabin became less of a hearth and more like a sauna. The fireplace crackled. Our breathing became more rugged. Sweat accumulated and trickled down my nose the faster I thrust inside him. My shaft slid in and out of his stretched tail hole like the piston of a steam engine. Our large nipples brushed and touched each other multiple times, driving me wild as I brought us further to the brink. I lost track of time regarding how long we made warm love, but I did know it took us half an hour or so to get up from the sticky mess afterward.
"Hot bath?" I asked the brown bear, finally catching my breath again. "After dinner, Jared?"
"Great idea," he murmured tiredly, nuzzling into my sweaty cheek. "A few more minutes though. Truly missed you today."
"I did too," I said, leaning forward to kiss him once more. "I love you."
Blushing, he giggled less like a bushbear and more like the ursine I'd fallen in love with all those years ago. "I love you too, Cam."
There we were, living off the grid, at the edge of the world, and in Paradise itself with each other for company. I couldn't ask for anything better.
