Hope you guys like this one, done know how good it will sound to you...but here ya go anyway. Enjoy!

Marcus woke up; he looked around and saw he was still in the same room as the dragon he brought in last night. He was the only person in the room other than the dragon. He was sitting in a chair in the corner; rubbing the sleep from his eyes he grabbed a Large 50. Cal BMG bullet and a Cigarette, the pointed tip bent back as he pushed it to reveal a lighter. He pressed the light button and lit the cigarette.

It had been four years since his last smoke, he was stressed out that's the only reason he ever smoked. Right now seemed like the right time to have one. He liked the smell a bit.

The dragoness was still asleep, her wounds were bad but thanks to the Nano Medkits, Stimpacks that great sped up the healing process. But it would still take time to heal.

"Hey," Cynder said in a curious tone, "what's that smell?"

"That's me," Marcus called out, "Just having a cigarette." Wow, he thought, dragons have a very strong sense of smell. He smoked half of the cig down by now, he grabbed a small cylinder out of his pocket opened it and dropped the cig in it. Looking down on the ground he saw his Remington model 7615 Tactical carbine, it had fallen from his hands we he had fallen asleep. He picked it up and walked out of the room, the dragoness didn't need him to guard her any more, he was just in there to make sure she would be ok. As he walked out he whistled the Terminator song.

The Holo-project still lay in is pocket, untouched. He wanted to wait until that dragon was up to listen to it. He had a feeling he wasn't going to like what he was going to see on it. How did he know if they were really alive? If it was true and they were here, or it was all a joke and this thing was a bomb delivered by Dylan and sent to him to blow up the second he pressed it. He didn't know if they got through or not.

There was a sound that came from behind Marcus that made him stop. He turned around as saw the yellow/black dragoness; he got a good look at her now, the black traveled around the sides of her body, mixing with the yellow that covered her and her black underside. Her hand/paws were black, fore legs and back legs were a yellow. She had an elegant muzzle, long black wings, the thin membrane was yellow. And shined like gold. All in all she was a very beautiful dragoness. She looked to be a year younger than him.

"Wait," she said as she walked up to him, with a slight limp. "Have you looked at the message yet?"

"No, I have not." This seemed to make the dragoness upset. Everyone was starting to come towards them.

"You must read it now; I was to tell you that you have to." She said back, he grabbed it out of his pocket and looked at it. He looked for the button and pushed it, it made an audible snap as it was turned on. A holo image of a man came into view.

"Hello Marcus," the man said in a kind voice, a voice that has seen years of fighting was laden with pain of the years. But kindness overwhelmed it all. "I know this may come as a shock to you, but I am your father. I am deeply sorry that we had to give you to our friends but it was for your own safety. There was a war going on. It hurt us to see you go. But if we would have let you stay here the Dark Overlord would have tried to take you us, use you against us or kill you." The man paused for a second as he looked behind him, and then motioned for whoever it was to come forward. A large blue dragoness entered the view with the man who said he was his father. "Marcus this is your mother."

"Hello Marcus," the dragoness said in a sweet voice, "It's so good to see you again. You have no idea how much we wanted you back. But we were scared, I know you have been told about the Dark Master...but he is nothing compared to the Dark Overlord." This is crazy, Marcus thought, how can I be the son of a dragon? He got his answer almost instantly.

"I know what you're thinking." The dragoness said, "How can I be your mother, how can it be possible? It is possible; if it wasn't then would you be here right now?" He couldn't help be believe that she was right. "I believe by now your powers have started to activate. That is proof enough. No other human will have those unless they were born from a dragon and human." She stopped right there and then the man from earlier began to talk again. She was right; he had powers that meant that it was all true.

"We would never lie to you my son." His father said, "What would we gain by lying." He paused again, and looked up at his mother, "We had our friend Jerin try to find you. Those Orcs you saw aren't the Dark Master troops any more they are the Dark Overlord's. They are doing something. We already destroyed him. They must be trying to bring him back. If they are you must stop them. And keep your Friend Caelia close by. She is one of the rare Anc-" It started cut out right then and there.

"NO," Marcus groaned, "Don't die now...Fuck!" he closed his hand around the projector, its battery had died, its battery was supposed to last two days when take off the ship, they were still trying to make longer lasting batteries on them. That meant this message was from two days ago.

"I don't believe it..." he whispered, "I haven't heard or seen my Parents all my life, and now I find out there here.....this...this crazy."

"No, it is not crazy." An old voice said from behind the group. They all turned around to see an old blue dragon with strange items on it. Marcus didn't know who he was but by the looks of it everyone else did!

"I don't believe it, Jerin said in awe, "The Chronicler." Marcus was a little uneasy, his body tensed ready to fight. The Large yet old looking dragon started to walk towards the group but instead of stopping he walked right up to Marcus.

"What you heard was true; I know this for a fact because I am an old friend of your parents." The Chronicler said, "And what I mean by that is that I am your mother's great grandfather..." Now that was a shocker, Marcus didn't know this But the Chronicler was a very, very, very old dragon.

"When the transmission on that device you had cut out it was telling you something very important," he sighed, "it was telling you that your young friend is one of the Rare Ancient ones, like me, and your mother." It felt like someone dropped a bombshell on them. First he gets here, next he learns that his parents are alive and now this!

"Are you serious?" Marcus asked complete blown away.

"If he wasn't then would he be here?" Ignitus said, "The chronicler is an ancient dragon, older than any of us. I have heard of the Ancient ones, they were the most powerful and oldest dragons to ever walk the realms. But I had heard that they were almost all but wiped out."

"You are right, Ignitus," the Chronicler responded, turning to him, "There are very few of us left, Marcus is one of them. He carries their blood line. The Ancient ones are Eternal. They are the Guardians of this realm, but some time ago we lost our most powerful powers. Ever since the Dark Overlord came around, he was the one that corrupted Malefor and started all of this" Marcus's stress level was starting to rise, he took out another cigarette and lit it. He hadn't smoke this much ever.

"Shit this is a lot to take in." Marcus cursed, he rubbed his hands against his face, "I don't even know what to say..." he was having a very hard time taking this in. The Chronicler couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

"I know this is hard for you to understand, but it is true," he said in a kind tone, "you are one of the Ancient ones, we have a feeling that the Dark Overlord is coming back, we don't know when or how."

"Well," Marcus growled, "If he is coming back, I will make sure he has the worst time of his life as I kill him."

"He is in a realm that is not and has not been connected to here for many, many years. We can't stop him from coming in once they unlock the realm, but can destroy him again if he ever tries to come back." The chronicler explain, while Marcus walked back and forth, puffing on his cig which was now almost a nub. He told Marcus a good amount of info on the war, it shocked him. And after he left he wanted to go and find his family and have a talk with them that was the only way he could find the truth was to get it from them and them alone.

"We have no idea where it is!" Spyro protested.

"I know that!" Marcus snapped, "That's why I want to look for it!" The arguing went back and for among everyone. Marcus was starting to lose his temper, not a good sign at all. Jerin was starting to lose it too until...

"Enough," Jerin yelled, "I know where they are Marcus and I can take you." That seemed to calm him down.

"Where is it?" he asked almost temped to run all the way there and kill anyone in his path.

"It's far from here, and I will not say. I will take you and you alone. When I was delivering it I took a short cut....we can no longer use it now. So we will have to take the long way."

"I don't care whatever way gets me there is all I care about."

"But wait!" Caelia yelled, "I want to come wit-"

She was cutoff by Marcus, "Caelia I can't take you with me, she said she could only take one and your better off with the guardians." He crouched down and looked her in the eyes. "This is something I have to do; it will be too dangerous to take you with me..."

"But why..?" she asked.

"Because you're only four months old, its not that I don't want you to go, it's that it is dangerous and you're still young. I don't want you to get hurt or killed." She could see the pain in his eyes, to him Caelia was like a daughter, even though she wasn't he still considered her his. "Please stay here, I will try to come back as fast as I can. After that I won't leave you...ok?" Caelia was starting to get upset.

"o-ok." She sniffed; she knew he cared deeply for her. He had never told her wrong.

Marcus gave her a hug and told her that he would die to protect her, and didn't want her to be sad.

"When do we leave?" he asked as he looked at Jerin, dropping what was left his cig on the ground.

"We can leave now but we need at least two weeks provisions to make the Trek." Jerin answered.

"Then let's move, I don't have money, but if I have too I'll steal." Marcus said as he racked the shotgun, she could see fire in his eyes, he was bound and determined.

"I have money," Jerin replied, "Let's get going I know they will want to see you."

After they had left Volteer blurted out, "Did he just say you were only four months old, how is that possible? You look to be at least nineteen!"

"Hey, don't look at me I don't know." Caelia said back, she didn't know at all, she thought this was she normal growth rate.

"We will find out later how this is possible, lets just leave her be for now." Ignitus said, and he meant it.

Twenty minutes later.....

"OK, we have everything," Jerin said as she looked over the items on her and Marcus's back. "Lets got." She took off into the Sky with Marcus following close behind.

They had flown or why seemed like hours. Right now they had entered a small valley.

"Can you tell me about my family," Marcus asked through the headset to Jerin, "I need to know." Jerin was having a little trouble know how to use it, "Press the button on the headset then you will be able to talk to me."

"How's that?" Jerin asked as pressed the button, unsure if he could here her.

"I can here you perfectly," he said back, "Can you tell m-"

He was cutoff when she said, "We need to land and walk now, and the trees are too thick to land inside. There is a cave that will take us out to an open area after that...well you'll see when we get there." They landed and started to walk into the forest; Marcus wasn't taking any chances and was armed and ready.

It was a little dark inside the forest, the tree tops blocked out the light. Marcus flipped on the shoulder light; it felt so dark and eerie. This forest was deadly.

"How much farther do we have to go?" Marcus asked sweeping the gun around, he didn't feel safe in this forest. Something small flashed in front of them on the ground, "Wait, don't move" he said to stop Jerin, she stopped dead in her tracks. He crouched down and walked in front of her and slowly looked on the ground until he saw it...

A trip wire, nice place to hide one. He traced the thin wire until it stopped and wrapped around a stick, he looked up and saw that it was a dead drop trap.

"Be careful," he pointed to the thin wire, "Someone knows that we were coming this way, it's a dead drop trap, meant to take us out." She walked over it very carefully.

After they walked one hundred feet, there was a loud KTUMMMPP! As the trap was tripped, there came screams from Orcs as more of the trap was tripped. Sharp pieces of wood shot down to the ground impaling them, followed by the screaming gurgle of the mortally wounded and the dead.

"We need to get moving there will be more of them following us." Jerin said in a serious tone. They started sprint along the path, they stopped half a mile up ahead.

"Fuck," Marcus said as he looked at the two paths, "Two ways which one do we take?" Jerin took a few seconds to answer; it looked like she didn't remember which way to take.

Suddenly the sound of thunder exploded out of now where, rain started to trickle down into the dark forest. The forest lit up every few seconds revealing dark forms darting in around in the darkness.

"We go left, that will take us into the tall planes. And then after that....well you'll find out." They started to move quicker, they were being followed, the sounds of pursers gaining. They had been running for five hours, Jerin was almost exhausted, Marcus was the same. They were drenched with rain.

"I see the cave," Jerin called out, pointing to the left. "Hurry before they spot us!" They run through the bushes and into the cave. Just as they entered their pursers passed by, yelling out into the night, still looking for their lost targets.

"Shit," Marcus breathed out leaning against the wall off the cave, "That was close." Water was dripping off of him, he was close to drenched, Jerin was faring better than him, she didn't need clothes to say warm and would dry off faster than him. They both wanted to rest but now wasn't the time.

"Come on we need to keep moving." Marcus said as he picked himself up, they had rested for a few a minute to catch their breath. They walked instead of ran.

"Is that what I think it is?" Marcus blurted out, what he saw in front of him was a 74-Z speeder bike. Sure enough it had the U.S.S Albatross insignia on its side; it was etched into the side. The bike was of no use to them, its power core was dead, they left it behind and walked on.

The cave was lit by small torches, some had died out. There were occasionally openings in the cave ceiling through which water poured in. it created a echo that made the hair on the back of his neck stand on end.

Marcus looked at Jerin, she was tired, her tail was dragging on the floor, wings drooping on the ground.

"Jerin, you need to rest," he said. She didn't seem to hear or was trying to catch her breath.

"No," she said in a tired voice, "I'm fine, we can't rest not until I get you to them." That didn't play well with him; he walked right into of her and stopped her.

"Listen and listen well," he said in a commanding voice, "You are in no shape to continue and neither am I. We need to rest, then after that we can get moving. We have two weeks provisions so don't think we have to hurry. Right now I am making the decisions, and I say we find a place to rest and continue in the morning." She tried to push forward be was held back gently by Marcus. She liked him a lot, and could see that he was a caring person. If he wasn't he would have shot her down the second he saw her.

"Fine," Jerin finally said, "But after that we move out right away." They walked for a short while until they found a small tunnel that was big enough to hold him and Jerin, the tunnel only went for fifty feet before ending.

There was a small fire crackling away, illuminating the camp. They were eating a small meal. Marcus looked up from his meal to look at Jerin who was almost wolfing down her meal. She was a beautiful dragon, he liked her. She was the first girl he had ever liked, it wasn't that girls didn't like it him was just they did seem to catch his attention, until now.

"Jerin," he asked, "Can you tell me something about my family?" she looked up from her meal and looked right at him.

"Well," she said thinking, "I don't know that much, but what I do know is that they a very nice people. Like you. You have your mom's eye and your father's looks. I know one thing a few years back...they saved me from getting killed. Like you did last night, I will never forget what your father said. 'If you can't save one life, you'll never save any at all.'" That was all she told him and was able to say.

Marcus grabbed out another cigarette and lit it. He blew the smoke out slowly, watching it float away.

"What's that?" Jerin asked pointing to the Cig in his hands.

"This," he said, "Is a cigarette, they say it can help relieve stress, so far it had helped out."

"Can I try it?" she asked with a smile.

"Eh, why not." Marcus handed it to her, she mimed the way he smoked it, and she coughed for a second after she took a small suck of the cigarette. But after that it didn't happen again, she tried to two more times before handing it back.

"Who...that was a unique experience."

"Yea I know, but smoking is dangerous....you can die from it. But it takes more than one; it takes years and years of it to kill you. 'This' will be my last for a long time."

"Why does it kill you?"

"Cancer, lung cancer." Was all he said, before he threw it into the fire, not wanting it anymore. He took a look at his watch; the time was 8:30 PM. He laid back and started to close his eyes, he was more tired than he thought.

"Marcus, you ok?" Jerin asked concerned. He looked very tired, almost on the verge of falling asleep instantly.

"Yea, I'm fine just tired.....I need to get these things off before I get a cold." He began to take off his gear, putting them off to the side to dry. He then took of his shirt, revealing his scarred and muscular chest.

WOW, he is hot, Jerin thought as she watched him undress, but quickly looked away as to not attract attention to herself or let him know she liked him just yet. He had taken everything off but his pants and under wear they were the driest. He also pulled out two thin blankets out of the pack and threw one over to Jerin, saying. "You should get some sleep while you can." He wrapped the blanket around himself and closed his eyes; the shotgun lay on the ground next to him.

Jerin woke up from her sleep sometime later, she felt a little unsafe in this cave, she always went through it with friends, but there was only her and one person. She felt...safe last night when he was in the room watching over her. She soon found herself lying next to him fast asleep.

Marcus woke up and felt something laying on him; he looked down and saw Jerin lying against him asleep. Must not feel safe being in this place alone, he thought, he soon for got about it and was out again...

The loud beeping alarm on Marcus's watch sounded off, waking them up with a jolt. Jerin accident fired off a bolt of electricity down the tunnel, it only hit the wall.

"Whoa, talk about an itchy trigger finger...." he chuckled, he looked at his watch, it was 6:30 am. The fire now long dead was nothing more than gray ash. His cloths were now dry.

"Sorry, I just didn't expect a wake up call." Jerin remarked, she turned to see him getting dress but looked away to peek down the tunnel. No signs of anyone around.

"So can you tell me where my parents are? Or can you not tell me?' he asked as he put on the pack. They were probably station around the Albatross, probably had crash landing.

"I can tell you now; they are located at the far end of the Tall plains. And by the looks of it we are near the end of the cave it will take us a few days to get across to them. The place has changed a lot."
