#12 of Change of Perspective

Saving your friend's life from certain death with a broken bridge to rebuild bridges lost by becoming a geth plan is a complete success! So far so good. Hopefully something can be done now.

"Hold your fire!" yells Azreith as two slugs hit and penetrate Kirisha's back. Kirisha tenses as her internal sensors inform her of the damage, her external communication equipment becoming damaged in the process, "Hold your fire or you'll hit me damn it!" Azreith yells as he waves his hand over Kirisha's head who is still holding and shielding her friend from friendly fire.

"A hostage? Damn these flashlight heads are getting clever. Never seen one use a hostage before," remarks Tiius as he takes a step forward.

"Don't come closer this bridge is unstable!" yells Azreith as Kirisha loosens her grip around him, allowing him to slowly move around Kirisha to face the turian guard, "Stand down this geth isn't hostile."

"Not hostile? Have you gone mad?!" exclaims Tiius.

"It--."

"She," Kirisha responds interrupting Azreith.

"Sorry she. What do you expect? With what you look like it's hard not to mess up."

"I know,"

"It talks?!" exclaims Tiius.

"She. It's me Kirisha. The geth did something to me."

"The missing scientist? Ha don't make me laugh," Tiius replies as he trains his rifle on the geth before him his finger on the trigger.

"It's hard for me to believe but let's give i...her the benefit of the doubt. But first we need to get off of this bridge before it collapses anymore," Azreith says as he takes only two step forwards before the sound of metal moaning before what few supports start to snap and break. The bridge quickly starts to descend but Azreith finds himself flying forward landing hard on top of Tiius who just manages to catch him as metal rattles and thuds as the bridge breaks apart.

"Get off me," grunts Tiius as he rolls Azreith off him.

"Sorry I... what happened?" Azreith asks.

"The bridge collapsed," Tiius replies as he brushes himself off, "That geth dropped down with it. Good riddance," he remarks as he spits off to the side.

"She just saved my life again, that's three times. What point would a geth save myself over itself?" Azreith asks as his rain soaked fur clings to his face as he stands up, glancing over to the ravine and seeing nothing at a glance, keeping his distance from the edge.

"How should I know how a flashlight head should think? That is why you are here," he remarks as he brushes himself off, grunting as he pulls himself back onto his feet.

"I'm still here," Kirisha responds as she climbs up along the bridge. Azreith peers over the edge to see that the bridge itself is now at a steep seventy some degree angle but is still attached to the base. The bridge wails and moans as the metal strains under Kirisha's movement. Rain still patters against her body as only her tight machine grip. Her hands digging into the walkway as she climbs her way up. As she reaches the top she looks up to see Tiius holding his rifle at her optics. Kirisha tenses as she analyzes the moment, calculating options, possibilities, probabilities of what is going to happen next. Rain drops fall in slow motion as she speeds up her analyzing to the point that Tiius' words seem to flow out of his mouth agonizingly slow.

"Move, slowly."

"Of course," Kirisha responds but Tiius tenses as he his barrel touches Kirisha's flashlight optic.

"I don't want that robotic noise coming from you," he remarks. Kirisha reviews what transpired just moments ago, analyzing the events with lightning quick speed discovering her mistake within fractions of a second.

"Sorry I spoke too fast, I am still trying to adapt myself to this body and mind set," Kirisha replies as she slowly pulls herself completely over the edge.

"Hey, I looked around and couldn't find any more flashlight heads. I came as soon as I can when I heard the gunshots, did I miss any fun?" Hux remarks as he approaches, noticing the geth on the ground with Tiius' weapon trained to its head, "Looks like you had some, are there any more?"

"No, and this one states it's our missing scientist Kirisha," replies Tiius.

"What and you believe that thing?"

"It's true, and it--she has saved my life twice now," Azreith explains.

"Three times," Kirisha interjects.

"What?"

"Once from the first fall, once from Tiius gunshots, and another from the bridge collapsing completely. Three times," Kirisha explains as she looks up at Tiius as she examines and analyses his facial features, comparing them with other experiences with him and other turian to attempt to figure his current state of mind, reaching the conclusion of 'uncertainty.'

"Yes, three times. We should at least hear her out. What do we have to lose?"

"A lot," huffs Hux, "I say we destroy it and get back on our way before it signals more."

Kirisha repeats her analysis with Hux and comes with the conclusion, 'aggression-destroy', "My communication systems are damaged. Even I wanted to, which I don't, and knew how to, which I also don't, I am unable to contact other geth," Kirisha explains.

"And why would we believe you?" Hux grunts as he moves closer to the group.

"Because if what I am saying is the truth, it'll be the biggest discovery in not only understanding the geth, but in tech-organic technology we have ever seen."

"Yeah so?"

"It means you can't destroy it Hux," Azreith replies as Kirisha quickly says "her" when he says it, "Sorry."

"Let's move from this location and set up a temporary camp, we can figure what to do from there," says Tiius.

"Good idea, I'd like to get out of the rain and dry my fur," replies Azreith.

"This is a bad idea," Hux adds as the group moves to a different part of town, setting up a quick canvas over a secluded and hidden area of the city.

"Hux keep a close eye on our guest, I'm going to scout the perimeter."

"Got it," Hux replies as he props himself up against a rock, his rifle placed to the side within arm's reach while a pistol remains in one hand before he digs into his rations to pull out some meat for him to munch on.

"We'll make a report and head back once I understand what is going on," says Azreith.

"Understandable. I hope I can explain everything the best I can, but to be honest I am excited about all of this."

"Excited about what happened to you?"

"It was a shock at first. For almost a full solar cycle I wasn't even aware of my own changes. It seems the process has wiped my short-term memory, only piecing together my thoughts have I determined what has happened... and my thoughts. It's amazing, I am so excited yet it's not a chemical induced excitement. I am 'excited' yet clear minded, calculating. Able to multitask in ways I could not even dream of, it's exhilarating. (Kirisha) I would say fearful but I am not sure I have felt fear, even back at the bridge. I had a concern with my survival and what to do, but in all it isn't the same kind of chemical organic fear response that I would expect. And to be able to go through all these thoughts, process information, disseminate and make sense of the information before me is wonderful but at the same time it's so alien to me. I feel like there are parts of me that are missing, and not the obvious scales and claws. There is also the sensation of touch, I do feel a lack of it yet I don't feel a long or missing, I am compensated by my sensors that prevent me from being home sick of my own body. (Kirisha) Beyond that this means a lot to our geth research, though the idea of research myself is rather a daunting feeling task, or the idea of OTHERS researching me. It brings a sense of concern? Yes, concern would be the word I would be looking for. I find I am able to process so much information that at times the world is slow by comparison but beyond that. What this means for the geth here. They are trying to expand in new ways, and have a technology completely alien to us. The quarians had nothing like this tech, the geth are really networked VI's that became AI's through this networking, yet I am a stand along geth with only one AI program, which is myself. Which I hope is me, it's hard to tell if I am still me. But the idea that one's electrical synapses could be transformed into hard programing and hardware? If I was more into computers which I suppose I am now I would be even more ecstatic."

"Kirisha!" yells Azreith as Kirisha feels Hux's pistol on the back of Kirisha's head.

"What was that about that geth talk?" Hux grunts as Kirisha stops and quickly analyzes.

"I apologize, I condensed a few minutes of conversation into only 6.18 seconds. Wow I went down to the hundredth of a second? Amazing yet I feel I could do more. I feel I lost you at chemical induced excitement?" Kirisha asks.

"Yes, you did," Azreith replies as Hux relaxes slightly as he continues to chomp on his meal.

"Alright I'll slowly repeat what I said and then try to explain what happened."

"That would be appreciated..." Azreith replies with a sigh as he thinks, "Kirisha did ramble a bit when she got excited. I somehow don't think a geth could really fake that and risk getting their head blown off. Maybe what she is saying is true?"

Meanwhile Tiius continues to look around the perimeter, watching out for any unusual activity as he communicates with Xenari, "And that is the summary of my report thus far."

"Good, I am glad you brought this to my attention. This is very dangerous. If half of what is stated is true, organics turned into geth? What influences could they wield over these transformed. How do we not know that this geth is even Kirisha and if so, if not manipulated by the geth to get to our base. Did you bring your sniper rifle?" asks Xenari.

"I always bring old reliable," Tiius replies.

"I want you to take the geth out from a distance. Azreith is weak willed and might grow an attachment and put himself at risk to save this geth. Make it quick and clean and return to base immediately," Xenari commands.

"Understood," he replies as he ends communication, pulling out his sniper riffle as he moves to take position a fair distance away, already knowing the area, he knew of the perfect spot to take his shot. Though the storm has passed, the rain continues to pour. It patters against the blown-out structures, streams of water moving through the debris, pooling and overflowing repeating the process again and again. Tiius takes his position, his weapon trained on the geth as he makes a few adjustments for wind and distance, "One shot one kill," he remarks as he holds his breath, his finger pressing down on the trigger as he prepares to take his shot.
