Ash and Misty were heading to an abandoned village in the Kanto Region. There had been reports of Mew sightings around the surrounding forest and Ash had been tasked with capturing it. Misty joining the team was an added bonus, but it did extend the time it took to get there as Misty kept teasing Ash, causing them to stop for fun a few times a day. After a few weeks of traveling they arrive at the village. The village, a once thriving town known for its lush harvests, had been abandoned long ago due to the hauntings. The only thing that called this once great village home now was the ghost pokemon who inhabited it. With no humans daring to come it was no wonder why Mew decided to stay here. Splitting up they start searching the empty buildings only finding a few ghost pokemon that Pikachu and Umbreon could take out without issue.

A week passes and they're no closer to finding Mew than when they started. Ash is getting chewed out by his superiors. This mission was not supposed to take this long. They needed a powerful psychic to continue their research and spread their message and without someone like Mew they would have to scrap the whole project. Ash was getting frustrated at this point.

"Burn it down!" Ash commanded. "Burn it all down! Let's try to see Mew try to hide in the rubble". He said in a menacing tone. Pikachu shot lightning into the houses causing them to catch fire. Misty and Umbreon took torches and tossed them into neighboring houses spreading the fire further .

Mew watched from the edge of the forest. He could sense evil and not one for confrontation he just watched. He could always find a new place to live, they're just buildings Mew thought.

Ash watched the pokemon start to flee the burning buildings. "Pikachu, Umbreon, start attacking the pokemon fleeing!" He ordered. The fleeing pokemon were now being hit with dark energy blasts and black lightning stood no chance as they fell to the ground. One Gengar tried to fight back and charged the humans. Pikachu hit him with thunder before he could reach them however. Liking his spirit Ash released Ditto and ordered it to transform Gengar while he was lying there fainted. Ditto crawled over to him and formed a cocoon encasing the Gengar.

Mew could no longer stand there and watch the onslaught of pokemon fleeing their homes. With a flash he teleported from the woods. Umbreon was standing over a weakened sableye about to hand out the finishing blow when suddenly he was hit with a powerful psychic blast sending him flying back into a nearby house. Ash looking back seeing their target floating across the street, Mew.

"Get him!" Ash shouted. Pikachu shot lightning at his target while Misty had an electro net cannon she tried to wrap up Mew. Mew however was able to dodge these attacks effortlessly flying around in the air. With a glimmer he disappeared and suddenly reappeared behind pikachu sending him flying with a psychic attack. With a flick of his wrist he sent Misty back making her lose her net gun. In a moment he was face to face with Ash.

"What happened to you Ash? I remember you before and you were a kindhearted individual who would never be so cruel." Mew spoke to him telepathically.

"I was weak! Team Rocket showed me there was a better way. You may have defeated me here, but you can never defeat Team Rocket. We'll be back!" Ash shouted at the pokemon.

"No, I shall bring you back to who you once were." Mew said as he closed his eyes and touched Ash's head. Locking minds he could see what happened and the evil used to corrupt him. He searched his mind looking for the real Ash to free him from this.

In the real world, Mew invading his mind was incredibly painful. Ash was screaming in pain as a bright light was emitting from the pair. Pikachu, Umbreon, and Misty tried to approach, but were blinded.

In Ash's mind, Mew searched through old memories, pockets of repressed thoughts, everywhere he could to find the real Ash. Finally he found Ash locked in a black and red prison. He flew down and was able to get inside his cell.

"Mew!" The good Ash shouted in surprise. "How did you find me?!"

"It wasn't easy, they have you locked away good. Take my hand and let's get you out of there." Mew responded.

Ash got up and reached for his hand, but right as he was about to make contact Mew was suddenly ripped from his mind and physically thrown down into the ground creating a crater. The smoke lifted to see a Hulking 7 ft Gengar. Bulging with muscle Gengar was now black instead of dark purple color. He had red eyes and had a red R right in the middle of his muscle bound chest. Ash screamed, causing them to look away feeling ashamed. "Another time." Ash said, calming down. "First Gengar, Pikachu, Umbreon, hit Mew here with your strongest attack at once. We need him weak so he can't fight off Ditto." Ash ordered.

All three pokemon took a step back preparing themselves before releasing a massive amount of energy at Mew. It hit at once, making Mew convulse a moment before causing an explosion. The smoke cleared showing one beaten Mew now fainted in his crater.

"Ditto, use transform" Ash ordered as the Ditto crawled over and wrapped Mew up in a cocoon

"Who is it?" Ash asked.

With a dark smile Mew answered "My big brother Mewtwo".
