[Collaboration] Grass & Water
A collaboration between me and Ryuzaki-Kai, about a year ago. (: My writing is in normal text, and his is in bold. It's only short, I can't even remember if we finished it... Anyway, enjoy what is there. x3
The sunlight was harsh over the sparkling waters of Cerulean city. The air was silent; heat clinging to its entirety as life struggled beneath it. Thick, green grass was slowly losing its emerald colour, turning slowly into weak, thin roots of yellow sickness. Flowers; once so vibrant and beautiful, now wept in the uncontrollable rays. In gardens, sprinklers set out droplets of water across lawns; flowers raised their heads in worship, and both children and Pokémon played happily in the midst of the sacred spray. On chairs, spread out across the lazy city, humans sat and rested; some alone, some with families.
On the prettily cobbled streets, soft, pink paw pads came to step surely on the burning ground. The brown paws of which they belonged jittered, jumping merrily across the heated grey rock. Creamy fur dazzled in the sunlight, bright, sea-blue eyes shimmered in their sockets and the vibrant green leaves which protruded from the Pokémon's body jumped in the heat, their own colouration showing no signs of wilting. As the Leafeon; a small, feline Pokémon, the evolved form of Eevee and in itself a rarity, skittered her way across the cobbled street, she took herself into the welcome cold of the shade, and sat.
A few miles west of Cerulean, a deserted cave sits; untouched, now unguarded, and avoided. The shimmering water of the sea narrowed off here- making itself a tiny creek, and then a pool, surrounding the ancient cave. On the bank of such river, a canid Pokémon had its dolphin-like tail dipped into the water. He moved it, swirling the cold water back and forth, watching with his chocolate eyes. He had a fuller shape, more muscular features. Sapphire scales covered his body; a large, white ruffle dominated his neck; and from his head, three fin-like appendages stuck out in three different directions. Down his spine, small, triangular scales stood upright; a darker blue colour than the rest of his body.
Silently, the Vaporeon slid into the clear water, and allowed the coolness to caress his scales. Beating one webbed paw in front of another, he slowly swam down the narrow creek, and into the winding waterways of the city.
Leafeon, of slender physique and with cute, innocent feline features on her face, licked a brown paw steadily, and watched the world pass by her. The giant leaf that was her tail swayed to and fro, and her ears pricked left and right. Raising herself from the ground, she moved slowly towards the bank of a canal and poked her deft muzzle into the water; taking a timid drink with her sea-blue eyes firmly shut.
Splash.
Her gaze opened, to see two unfamiliar brown optics staring at her, their own muzzle close enough to kiss her. She jumped back, falling onto her side in horror. With a spray of cool water, a familiar shape of an unfamiliar character sprang clear of the water and landed on his paws beside her. Vaporeon was another evolution of Eevee - more common in these parts, but in the Sinnoh region, could be rarer than a Leafeon. She watched him, her maw slightly ajar. He grinned at her, his features strangely friendly, and, in her opinion; handsome.
After he apologised profusely for scaring her as he had, the two eon Pokémon walked slowly down the riverbank, speaking in a language human's had no chance of understanding.
"Mewtwo? Hehe." The Leafeon said, her voice high and optimistic. "I don't think he'd stay in the city, not with everyone knowing." Vaporeon smiled.
"He wouldn't be scared of some humans... He has awesome power, like, really awesome, and I want him to show me!"Leafeon shook her head, a smile painted across her face.
"So you want to kill yourself by fighting him? Face it water boy, that's not going to happen~."The sapphire reptilian-canine smiled, and nudged his new friends's pale side. She continued, watching the glistening water; "Do you have a name?"
Vaporeon slowed, and cocked his head. "Name?"Leafeon sighed, and giggled.
"Yeah, duh, a name. Like, my name is Emerald." Vaporeon smiled - though he wasn't really sure why he did.
"Thats a nice name... But I don't think I ever had one." Looking at the female, he pressed. "You name me!"
"Me?" She asked, her face suddenly becoming uncannily thoughtful. "Okay. I'll name you Vappy!" She skittered a little as the blue head cocked once more.
"Okay... I guess." And this time, it was her to nudge him the side.
As the sun fell in the sky, giving way to the moon and its night time embrace, the two Pokémon made their way to the Cerulean National Park, and sat together in amongst the trees. In the piercing black, Vappy's voice came softly; "What shall we do now?"Emerald smiled.
"I'm not sure Vappy... It's entirely up to you."
**Vaps sat silently next to the Leafeon, his tail swaying gently cruising over the small grass. He turned slightly towards Emerald, the moonlight twinkling in both their eye's as he watched her face, musing a smile.
"Can I show you something...?"
The Leafeon nodded enthusiastically, her face turning towards his, a huge smile spread across her face.
"Yeahuh~! What is it?!"
The only response she received was a shake of the head; and with that the Vaporeon stood up, looking backwards slightly towards the Leafeon.
"Follow me, please?"
Without hesitation she stood up, walked next to the Vaporeon who began to slowly walk through the tree's.
Grass pounced inbetween their paw pads as they slowly made their way through the thickening tree's, every now and then pushing the branches of bushes aside to make way, Vaps holding them so that Emerald could get through safely.
There was a moment where they both walked silently, Vaps concentrating on the direction while Emerald mused over the night time bugs, watching the fireflys as they cruised over their heads effortlessly, landing on what seemed like hidden flowers. Aside from the fireflys, the only source of light was the moon.
Huge and round, beaming down at them with it's silver gaze, casting artistic shadows of things across each other; Larger tree's casting the shadows of smaller tree trunks.
Vaps pushed through a large bush, signs of wear on the bush indicated that others had been through that way before, though not many, and not often as the bush hardly looked as if there was a tunnel through it. Emerald followed, closing her eyes as she went through so the branches didn't injure her.
When she opened her eyes, she couldn't believe where she was standing.**
In front of her was a huge lake, crystal water shimmering from the silver rays of the moon, each ripple casting it's own silver shadow on the lake. At the top, a small waterfall; Its water hitting the base of the lake creating steam, though streams of silver rolled down with the water, mixing with the steam making it look like shining dust.
Vaps strolled over to the side of the lake, diving in gently. His body jumping up into the air slightly, straightening out and entering the water, hardly creating a disturbance. Emerald walked towards the crystal lake, peering into it's dark depths slightly. She couldn't see anything, her face almost touching the water when Vap's face began to emerge slightly, his dark brown eyes strong in the water. She blushed slightly, as she watched his face. He slowly began to swim closer to the surface, emerging gently.
There was a moment, a moment of bliss. Something happened to them, that neither of them understood... Though, something was for certain. Vaps was lying on top of Emerald, body dripping water droplets, drenching Emerald fur as he lay on top of her, breathing heavily.
She didn't understand either, nor why Vaps was laying atop of her. She blushed slightly and mused her head to the side, indicating for Vaps to move off.
He did, blushing himself as he slid to the side of Emerald.
"What happened?"
Emerald looked to the side of her, looking again into Vap's Deep dark brown eyes. Something stirred in her stomach, a warm, fuzzy feeling. She blushed again, but continued looking at the Vaporeon for a answer.
He stuttered slightly, looking up at the sky, and back towards the Leafeon, blushing in embarrassment.
"I came up too fast..."
Emerald didn't break her gaze on Vaps; the feeling inside her becoming stronger now, warmer. Thinking about it, there was something that happened...
Blushing in realisation, and giggling to herself slightly, she turned towards the Vaporeon and nuzzled his cheek softly, whispering in his ear gently.
"I know what happened..."
He blushed, and thought about it. A warm feeling entered the pit of his stomach, keeping his cool body warm with a gentle fuzzy feeling. He realised what happened.
They had kissed, only for a moment, but long enough for something to reach them, and fester inside them that night. He turned to Emerald, who was still giggling, her face a rosy red colour. He could feel his cheeks burning up slightly.
"What now, Emerald...?"
The Leafeon watched her friend, her eyes transfixed on his, before she sat up. Her pale face was afire, and she turned her head from him to hide this. Moving slowly, she went and sat next to the river, gazing into the clear, watery abyss.
"What's it like?" She asked him, her reflection wavering in the water.
"Underwater? Ah, it's okay... It's nothing special though. Really." Vappy grinned, and moved to sit behind her. Their heads rested evenly on each other, and a tiny Finneon rippled the water's surface; sending the reflection dancing in all directions.
"Show me." Emerald's voice was a whisper, but it was a whisper the Water evolution could easily hear. He wrapped his paws about her, and slowly dropped the two of them into the water.
As the strange liquid enveloped her, Emerald clung to the blue scales on Vappy's back, too terrified to let go.
"I don't like it, I don't like it, I really, really don't like it!" She screamed, desperately trying to get back to the shore; the grass. Vappy let out a laugh, and held onto the flailing Pokémon.
"Relax... Its easy. Watch."
And with that, the two started to swim together. It took Vappy all night to teach Emerald how to kick her paws, how to hold her head and how to breathe, but as the sun came up, she was paddling across the magnificent pool by herself. As the new, fiery rays hit the water, it cast light across the bottom of the pool, something Emerald found fascinating. As she watched, so transfixed she was treading water without being taught, Vappy grabbed her waist once more. The water enveloped Emerald once more, but this time, she wasn't scared. She held her breath and allowed her eyes to relax, their sea-blue gaze watching the world now from a different prospective. The two Pokémon stood on the lake floor for what seemed like hours, watching the dancing light and trying to catch it beneath their paws, before air ran out and they were forced to surface. Splashing frantically, pained breathing echoed around the basin as the two Eeveelutions pulled themselves from the water and lay on the bank; exhausted from the night's water activities. They closed their eyes, and fell into a cool, watery pit of dreams...
When he awoke, Vappy found Emerald curled sweetly beside him, her head resting perfectly next to where his was. A smile nagged the corners of his maw, and he allowed it to form, just for a second, before he let out a high pitched yawn. Emerald's eyes flickered open, and her gaze fell across the Vaporeon's kindly face once more. The moment stood still then, hung for much more than a moment, as the two stared into each other; understanding one another in a way none other had. Moving his head slowly, steadily, the blue canine planted a single kiss on the Leafeon's pale lips.
Her eyes, now bright and panicked, watched him. She didn't move, or speak, or even breath. Raising his body, Vappy turned away, and sat with his back to the other Pokémon.
"I'm sorry.. I thought...--" Emerald's breath cut him off. It was hot, and sharp on his back; and sent a cold chill down his side.
"You thought right." She pulled him, pushing him down onto the floor, and madly locked her maw with his; the uncertainty was gone from her eyes, and the fire raging in both their chests was enough to drive them on.
The Leafeon slowly moved her body over his, keeping their maws locked on tight, and her instinct felt the worry of the blue-bodied creature below her. The kiss broke; and the two stared into each other, unsure of what to do.
"Do you want to...?" Emerald asked, blushing. Vappy took in huge gulps of air, and watched her expectant face.
"I... I don't know... I've never really uh... Done this, before...."
"It's okay." She smiled. "Neither have I."
**The two of them, one above the other, focusing on each others gaze. The air seemed to stand still, both of them watching each other for a sign of un-certainty, though both seemed determined and sure. A breeze picked up slightly, swaying the grass around the two Pokémon.
Vaps shifted slightly, stuttering quietly as he spoke. "Are... Are you sure?... How Do... Do we start?"
Emerald merely shrugged and beamed down at him, chuckling slightly. The wind picked up again, bushes rustling and grass swaying again. Vaps shifted himself once more, lifting his paws above Emerald and wrapping them around her.
He pushed her onto her back, and rolled over so that he was now standing above her. His muzzle tugged at one corner, smirking slightly as he looked down at the Leafeon.
"I think... I know what to do... Kinda..."
He shifted his head closer towards hers; muzzles almost touching, her breath short and jagged. He kissed her, gently, only for a moment before lifting himself up again, only to kiss once more, longer this time.
Emerald closed her eyes, loving the feel of Vap's smooth lips against hers. She could feel his body pressing down against her fur; his wet scales gently caressing her silky fur. She felt something, only for a moment, something touched her. It was warm, and wet slightly. She whimpered into Vap's muzzle, but the reply she received wasn't the one she expected.
