Zoo Keeper - ch13 - Escaping the Scene
#13 of Zoo Keeper
It came to my attention that some people don't take me seriously when I put the 'violence (not in yiff)' tag on. When I put this on a story, it means there will be violence, that might go up to and including killing (although as tagged, not as part of yiff so far as getting off on it).
There will be killing in this, just know that not a single main character is killed in this one.
"You ever used a rifle before?" Jake asked Molly.
The teen, eyes wide, was just gaping at the steyr, "Uh, I have fired my dad's three oh eight." she managed.
"That's a good start, this will kick a lot less than one of those but will make a much bigger mess of anything you hit. You can stick to single fire for now, let you build up some muscle before we play with burst or automatic." the soldier explained, showing her where the rate of fire selector, safety and all the things she would need to know.
While the little crash course in automatic weapons took place, I padded over to Sally who lay down supervising a whole mess of kittens at play, and even one big kitten.
"He really was quite a find wasn't he." I said, laying down beside her and watching Rough being attacked by our sons and the three female kittens.
"Wouldn't have any other." Sally replied, and I was shocked at the depth of feeling and clarity she managed.
"David, you good to go?" I heard Jake call.
I sighed, rising, "Well, back to work I guess. Love you." I said, lashing a small lick down the side of my mates muzzle.
"Love you oo." She replied as I began to turn back to the door.
I drew up to them, looking up to the teenagers face I nodded, "Lets go."
We tried for the two army transport trucks first, they were certainly large enough but as we drew closer first Jake and then Molly held back. I raised my nose, drawing in the smell. "Fuck they sprayed the trucks, not going to be able to use them then." I said.
We came to the town proper, and I got my first scent of cat. "There will be a lot of females and a male or two around somewhere." I said, "Remember, anyone who was changed will not be themselves now, its not just the males you need to be careful of, the females will just as easily pin you down or spray you into insensibility."
I received two nods and so padded forward.
"The shed where they keep the school bus, there should be another in there, two blocks that way." Molly said quietly, gesturing down a side road.
We got to the first intersection down that street when the ambush sprung. A big male leaping out to grapple with Jake and some females of the pride stalking closer to Molly and me. "Don't wait for my permission Mo, shoot them." I told her, guarding her back as she started firing the big rifle.
I had no time for further talk as two of the females had swung around behind her, and I was forced to take action. Swiping and growling I forced them back again and again but noticed them slowly working wider and wider from me, eventually leaving me between them.
Even as one pounced, making a determined effort to bring me under control so that her mate could have me, the other bounded past. I tried to work my jaw free so that I could yell to the girl but heard a double report of the gun and she yelled, "Get clear of it."
Grinning I dug my teeth in tighter to the cats shoulder, levering in a full paw worth of claws and pulled back and to the side. Again and again I did this, building momentum that pulled at the hold I had on the female, at the last moment, I let go, the cat spinning away, and yelled, "Kill this bitch!"
Three loud gun shots rang out.
Panting I got to my feet to see the big male working himself in Jake.
"Molly come on." I said, urging the girl who was still just staring at all the cats she had killed. "MOLLY!"
"Ok." she said, now noticing her friend in trouble.
Walking over to the big rutting cat, she held the muzzle of the gun right at his head as it gripped Jake, "Don't hurt my friends." she said softly. The gun on the other hand spoke loudly indeed.
By luck she must have hit the brain stem as the big male went completely limp, letting Jake drop down as he fell sideways off the soldier.
Jake, I could tell, was almost at his release. "Poor bastard." I said and dipped my muzzle down, tasting the maleness and Jakes juices, running my tongue in and around him.
His screaming roar was very loud, "Fuck why did you do that? We have to go fast!" Molly said.
Lifting my muzzle up, cleaning stray fluids off my whiskers and lips I said, "Couldn't leave him like that, it would have been torture."
She leaned down and grabbed Jake's gun and the small bandoleer he had made for extra clips and the grenades. As she put the sash on I could see movement up the road. "We have company, Mo, Jake, come on!"
I gripped the arm of the still recovering soldier and urged him to move, together we ran as fast as we could toward the hoped for vehicle.
"This is it! This one, we need to open it!" Molly called from in front of a big shed.
Letting got of Jake I said, "Molly, you need to open it, your the only one here with hands and her senses."
She let out a little squeak of surprise at that and examined the lock. Backing up a bit, she raised the rifle and let three rounds have a good talk to the lock, which gave up its argument.
She pulled the door open and we saw the big coach-bus inside, "You can drive that?" I asked her, worried a little.
"Sure, it will be just like the truck. I hope." was her less than reassuring reply.
Jake was more functional now and had retrieved his gun from the girl, making odd growls and grunts.
"You good, soldier?" I asked him as he straightened.
Small growls punctuated his speech, "Ready to fucking kill, Sir."
I saw him still wavering as he dropped to one knee. "Lay down, use my back." I said, dropping in front of him as he understood and slumped down, bracing the rifle on my back like a bi-pod.
Again and again the rifle cracked out its answer to the pride that now charged us, I turned my head to look down range and saw them lining the street.
"Reloadin'." Jake growled suddenly, pulling the rifle back and driving another clip home.
As we watched though, more and more of the cats, now interspersed with males, started into a loping run from the far end of the street.
Another handful of shots rang out before we heard a loud beep and then the big vehicle breath to life behind us.
Rising to his feet, recovered further now, Jake said, "Get in the bus. Go go go."
His command brooked no arguments, nor could I think of a good one even as my legs worked to get me into the open door.
The vehicle's motor grunted a bit as it reached its stride and I felt the vehicle shunt as it started moving forward.
"Jake come on, we are rolling!" I yelled, watching him begin backing up, still sending a precise hail of death into the path of the cats.
Displaying reflexes that were quite obviously more than human he leapt into the door of the moving bus, gripping on to the wood panelling around the entry way with his claws, rifle still singing.
It was then I noticed, despite the initial population of the charge, not a single male was left standing.
As he climbed in, his gun empty I made the comment, "Got over your need for a guy then?", referring obviously to his target choices.
"Yeah, I think I have had enough males for one day, although that sure made me appreciate Rough a little more." he replied and I caught a slight edge of longing for my mate.
And why not? I thought, he was a very good lover and sure was a change from the usual cat.
"Well, we are good here. Right Mo?" I said, directing the last to our driver.
She was working hard to keep up with what the bus was asking of her, and I realised she hadn't had a chance to adjust the seat and was practically standing driving the thing. "Yeah I got this ok, we still need food though right?" she asked.
"Why, are you hungry?" I asked slyly, but continued, "Yes hun, we need food."
"Right well its just there is a supermarket in the next town, we might want to get the others and head there." she explained.
"Good thinking. Molly. Now as we reach the house, remember we need to turn this thing around or back it down the road, which would be easier for you?" I asked her.
She laughed suddenly, "I can back a truck better than my father could, we will turn in that itty bitty drive way no problems, just get everyone out the front and be ready to move."
Well well well, it seems a particular little kitten is quite good indeed under pressure.
I was purring softly as we turned into the road leading to the farm.
"Problem ladies." Molly called out suddenly, "We have us more than the usual amount of tails."
Jake leaned out the now open door and quickly pulled his head back in, "Fuck, half the town is furry and chasing us. Well, nothing for it."
The soldier marched down to the rear of the bus and opened one of the windows. I was wondering what he was about when he pulled a cloth wrapped grenade from the sash he wore. "Grenade out!" the feline voice called as he threw the grenade out the window, pin still in his paw.
I raced to the back of the bus and leapt up to look out the back window. I saw a mass of cats stop and gather around the very female smelling armed explosive.
A loud crack sounded and suddenly there were red streaks on the window.
I almost expected another but the sound of the grenades detonation caused those still chasing us to slow and stop.
In moments we were at the house. Jake and I leapt out to help move the others while Molly turned the big vehicle around.
"All aboard all aboard! Get your arses, tails and kittens out here we are leaving!" Jake called as he turned to focus his attention on the road behind us.
As I got inside I saw Sally, one kitten in her jaws and others hanging in the sleeves of shirts, slung over her shoulders and tied at the cuffs.
"You heard the cat, we are leaving right now. Mo is turning the bus while Jake covers us." it was after saying this, I saw Rough, similarly attired as Sally padding past me just behind my female mate and again I knew just why he had a piece of my heart.
"What about food?" Jenny asked as she bustled past carrying some cases, likely with clothes.
I sighed, maybe I should have let Rough have a quick work out with the last two complete humans, just to relieve them of some silly needs like that. "We will be stopping to pick up supplies at the supermarket in the next town." I said.
The loud air horn of the bus cut through anything further we might have said. As it trailed off I called, "That's our cue, lets go."
Herding my pride onto the bus, I was followed by Jake, looking forward and hanging out the door. "Come on Molly my girl, wind this baby up and lets rrrrowl!" he all but howled.
Molly, for her part, caught the enthusiasm and the bus started rolling forward, gaining speed quickly as she worked the gears.
We then saw the remaining members of the towns pride, standing around the spot where the grenade had detonated. They looked up in surprise and gazed at the bus bearing down on them, stunned and immobile.
"Fuck, close the door Jake!" I yelled, grabbing him by the thigh and pulling back.
A loud and repeated series of thuds sounded and the bus shuddered a little, "That's for my father you fuckers!" Molly yelled out the window at the carnage she had just caused.
Jake managed to get himself sorted, "Thanks for getting me inside before that got nasty. Remind me never to piss this girl off though." he said, rising and musing up Molly's hair with a closed paw as he said the last.
I muttered softly, "Never piss off Molly..."
Angsty teens you will not see in my stories, whatever her faults, Molly is a real 'farmers daughter' in that she is extremely practical and like the proverbial 'John Wayne toilet paper', won't take shit from no one.
Oh, and in case you misse it last time, head over and read http://www.sofurry.com/page/219773/user if you have a chance, its extremely well written for a first try and has a great yiff scene, very well written out, between an anthro mouse and a non-anthro gryphon.
