Path of a Legend Chapter 5
The sun rose slowly into the sky as the rosters from the farmsteads close by made their morning cries. Star woke first between the two of and looked into the face of the sleeping blaziken. She was all cuddled up beside and curled into a ball. How cute she was made him smile. He knew if the maids came to wake him they would find he was not there but he didn't care. He had to get out of that place for a while and see things with his own eyes. Remembering the books that were given to him, Star rummaged through his pack and pulled out the first of the two books he was give. The text written inside helped on to understand the language of old. It was a vast an complicated dialogite, sometimes taking years to master. Oddly enough though Star seemed to breeze through it, as is it were second nature to him. By the time he had gotten a portion of the way through, he was already able to speak and write the language, not fluently of course but still an achievement for someone who had just started.
Kathlyn soon stirred till she slowly opened her eyes to see Star propped up against the headboard of the bed, reading. "Good morning." She yawned. "Good morning Sweetheart, sleep well?" She again snuggled up close to him, wrapping her arms about his waist. "What'cha reading?"
"A book, given to me by the master librarian at the castle. It's supposed to help me understand the inscription on my sword." Star said as he turned the page. "Oh? Well what's it written in?"
"Ancient Hyperian." Kathlyn blinked a couple times? "That old and it still has not crumbled into dust?"
"I don't know why it hasn't; I was hoping that by studying this I might be able to find out more about it." The blaziken nuzzles into his chest. "I have to go collect mushrooms today out in the forest."
"Would you like me to come along?" She just shook her head "I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself." She giggled softly. "Well alright as long as you are sure." She giggled again and poked at his ribs making him squirm a bit. "Hey don't do that, you how ticklish I am there."
"It's why I am doing it." She continues her tickling, making the winged umbreon squirm more and more till he had enough. He dropped the book to the floor and proceeded to pounce the fem blaziken. Kathlyn giggled feverously as he tried tickling her in response till soon she found Star on top of her.
They both panted softly looking into each other's eyes for a moment, then in a quick motion Star leaned down and kissed Kathlyn deeply. She ran her talons through his hair and down his back around his wings. Star's paws roamed down her body and over her rump. He could feel the heat rising from her as he held her against himself. By then though they were too much into it and Star held her close, slowly sinking into her heated tunnel. The blaziken let out a little screech as he filled her once more. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close. Their foreheads touched one another while Star continued his hard thrusts.
Kathlyn moaned all the more as Star assaulted her wet cunt. The heat from her body started to make them sweat under the blanket. Star furred balls slap wetly again Kathlyn's ass. Groans and grunts echoed the room as they ensued their primal lust driven instincts. "By the goddess Star make me cum." She spoke into his ear with a panted moan. This was enough to drive Star over as his pace increased and the bed started to shake with every thrust he made.
"That's it baby. Oh goddess just a little more." They both could feel their orgasms growing with each thrust the umbreon made, soon they could hold on no longer and both came simultaneously. Kathlyn cries echoed through the room as Star's joined hers in a wanton crescendo of lust and bliss. They were both panting heavily as their foreheads connected again and looked into each other's eyes. "What a way to start a morning huh?" Kathlyn nodded as the two lay entwined till their mutual afterglow subsided.
After they came down from their morning romp, the two had gotten dressed and let the tavern, walking up to the Torrent's manor hand in hand. They stood by the front door and Star sighed. "I'm sorry about barging in on you last night like that." She immediately placed a single claw on his lips to silence him. "Shh I know why you did. To be frank I was a little worried about you when you left yesterday afternoon. You have to stop that ok? Otherwise my feathers are going to turn white and then what would I do?"
"Dye them back obviously." She giggled softly and lightly slapped his arm. "You're terrible you know that Mr. Scorpan, blood of kings." She said jokingly before leaning up and kissing him again. With a final goodbye Star had gone inside and Kathlyn had started down the north road into the woods for her mushrooms.
Star leaned against the door and sighed softly. "There you are? My gods where have you been, I had the entire maid staff looking for you." It was Rain. The much older Vaporeon stood a half foot taller than Star. He wore a flannel button down shirt and black dress pants. "I was out with a friend." He said as he turned his head.
"Uh huh, so who was she?" Star looked up to the only person he considered a father figure in his life. "Well come on, you don't just come waltzing in here the next day reeking of sex and not expecting anyone to ask do you?" He said.
"No." Star replied
"Well then come on, who was she?" Star sighed, he knew Rain would not let this go until Star told him. "Kathlyn." He said plainly.
"The tavern owner? You know she has fancied you ever since her father ran that place. She's one you don't want to pass up." Star nodded. "I know Rain believe me. I just needed to get away for a while and she was the only person I could think of."
"Star look, you may not be my son by birth but gods damn it if you aren't mine just by sheer happenstance. I care for you boy as if you were my own flesh and blood. I want you to be able to trust me with these type of things." Star nodded. "Now I think it would be best if you went upstairs and got a shower cause there are ladies around and I don't think you would want them jumping all over you." This made Star smile a bit. Rain had a knack for always making him feel better it seemed. The umbreon made his way up the stairs and was about to turn the corner to head to his room when Rain stopped him again. "And Star, try to be a little bit more considerate to Storm ok? You know she worries about you too."
"I will." He said as he disappeared down the hall. He turned into his bedroom and closed the door behind him, locking it. Tide had not seen him come in or maybe she didn't want to see him. It was not as if her were cheating on her. They were not even dating and it was just that one night. Either way it did not matter. He felt a lot for Kathlyn and that was whom he wanted. As hard as it might be to tell her such, it was not something he could get around. Still it mattered little.
Star turned on the shower and waited for the water to heat up till it was the right temp for him. He undid his pants and pulled both them and his boxers off before stepping into the shower. The hot water splashed again his dark fur and trickled down to the base below his feet. He murred deeply as he felt his muscles relax from this morning's activities. A sighs left his muzzle. Another night with that horrifying nightmares. Maybe sex was the cure. Being too tired to dream seemed to halt those vicious visages. At any rate, when he felt he was properly removed of Kathlyn's sent he stepped from the shower and dried himself off.
It was some time before Star can down from his room. He looked around and saw only the maids. "Where is everyone?" He asked. The maids looked at each other then back to Star. "Well, answer me?!" They shuddered as he raised his voice. "We are sorry young master but a messenger came while you were bathing and..."
"And what? Out with it." He was starting to get rather agitated. "Some men found Miss Kathlyn lying unconscious along the forest road. She was badly beaten from what we heard. Once the master and Lady Storm heard of this they ran to where she was taken."
"What!? Are you certain of this?" He asked. Star could not believe it, He felt like something bad was going to happen but disregarded it thinking it nothing more than his imagination. But this, this was something that stunned him and hit him right at his core. "Where did they take her, Where!?"
"To the doctor's home on the west side of the village." Star burst through the front door and ran out into the late afternoon air. He moved as fast as his legs could carry him, every second he feared the worst. "Why didn't she let me go with her. I should have not have said yes." He panted, saying to himself. He had run and pushed his way through many of the townsfolk in order to get to where the doctor's place was. As soon as he arrived he burst through the door. "Where is she?!" He shouted.
"One of the nurses jumped as he yelled. "If you are talking about the young lady she was taken to the back." Star quickly moved past her. "Oh but you can't go back there."
"Watch me." He made his way down the hall with the nurse in pursuit till he found where they were keeping her. The doctor sat on the side of the bed. Rain and Storm stood to one side. After checking her heartbeat and making sure she was stable the doctor stood up and sighed. "There is some internal scaring from the rape but it's nothing too serious. She has a compound fracture on her right arm and I managed to reattach her left horn which was broken. Two of her ribs were broken and one other was cracked. We administer some morphine to kill the pain and made sure she was comfortable. She had a few gashes we closed up thanks to one of our healers so she won't have any external scars and the bruises should heal over time. She will be out of commission for a few weeks and I think it's a good idea to leave her here with us for observation. ." The three of them didn't even know Star was standing there till he took a step into the room. He was completely dumbstruck. The shock and extent of her injuries left him without a voice. Storm placed her paws over her mouth. "Star, what are you doing here?"
Again the umbreon said nothing he just slowly made his way past them and stood before Kathlyn. His eyes were wide due to this blow. The one person he cared for most then those that raised him was lying before him, mangled and beaten so badly that before he knew it, he dropped to his knees. He grounded his teeth together in anger and pounded his fist into the floor, tears falling from his eyes. "Damn it it's my fault, I should have gone with her." Storm rushed to his side, comforting the boy as he quickly wrapped his arms around her and buried his face into her shoulder. "Star this was not your fault; no one could have predicted this?"
"Is it alright if he stays here the night?" Rain asked stepping forward. "I don't see why not." Rain nodded and pulled Storm and Star up from the floor. "Honey, let's go I'm sure Star wishes to be alone with her now."
"But?" He turned her to face him and looked into her eyes. "This is something our 'son' has to deal with his way. If you baby the boy then he will never discover what he is really made of." The female vaporeon sighed in defeat. "Star you come home whenever you feel the need to." Rain said before the two departed. The doctor pulled up a chair and placed it next to Kathlyn's bed for Star to sit in, which he did and then the doctor walked out, closing the door behind him. There Star remained for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening.
The sun was beginning to set before Kathlyn started to move. She slowly opened her eyes and looked around. When she saw Star sitting beside her, she smiled weakly. "Hey stranger." He voice was weak and very soft. Star quickly rushed to her and kneeled down beside her. "By the goddesses Kat I should have gone with you." She reached out with her good arm and placed a talon to his lips. "Now you listen to me. This was not your doing, you had no hand in this so don't go blaming yourself."
"But I could have been there to protect you; I should have been there to protect you." She placed her claw against his cheek. "You are a strong man Stargazer, self-loathing does not become you. I was the one who said no. I knew the risks and still I went alone. This was the result of my actions, not yours. Please love don't beat yourself up over this." Her arm fell and went limp. Star jumped and was about to call the nurse when he seen she just passed out. He took her arm and placed it lightly again her stomach then kissed her forehead. "I may not be able to do anything then, but I can now."
Star quickly left there doctor's home towards the blacksmith shop where Grimwold was still hammering away at a sword he was making. Most of the activity of the lighter hours had died down and vendors where closing shop. Star soon stood beside the large lion until he caught him from the corner of his eye. "Ah Stargazer, what brings you out here on such a fine night?"
"I need a quiver of 50 arrows and one of your strongest bows." He asked. The fire within him burned which made his eyes glow. "Oh doing a bit of night hunting are we?"
"Something like that." He said looking around to make sure no one was watching. "Well here's your quiver, as for the bow..." The lion disappeared into the shed before returning with a blanket. He held the blanket out to Star before pulling off the cover. It was a long bow but what mad it special is it was made out of a kind of metal. "I call it a Tek Bow. Forged from a mixture of Mithril and Oricalcum. Strong enough to send one of these babies over 1000 yards. I also added a scope to her, for sniping purposes." He handed the bow to Star; he could not believe how light it actually was. The Lion then placed a band on his head. "What's this for?"
"This my young friend is the interface. When you want to enter sniping mode, you press that little button on the other side of the bow where your thumb goes. This monocle on the strap drops down over your eye and you're ready to go." Star was impressed. Technology such as this had long been stripped from the land for ages. What had remained was scarce at best. "Grimwold this is incredible. If you were to make these for the..." He was quickly silenced. "I don't intend to make anymore. This will be the first and last of its kind I ever make and I want you to have it. I'm sure you will put it through its paces far better then I." Star had nodded to the lion and turned to leave. "Oh and one more thing. I heard about what happened to Kathlyn. If you're doing what I think you are, I don't want to know about it. Just don't get yourself killed alright?" Again Star nodded and took off into the night with all the speed that would carry him.
Star ran through the forest with a speed like no other. Vengeance was his driving force but also to see the road free for travel. The further he ventured into the forest, the more he wondered if he would ever find the prey he was hunting. Sure enough though his keen hearing picked up on voices. Quickly her climbed into the trees and moving from tree to tree, grew closer to the voices till he saw a campfire with at least 10 to 15 men around it. He watched and listened in silence as the men spoke amongst themselves.
"So how did it go for you three?" One of them asked. "Oh not bad, though we did get of pussy today." The other men chuckled and 'Oood' at the comment. "So who was she?"
"Ah just some stupid female anthro. She must have come from the village. Ha you should have been there when she moaned and begged for more." That was all Star needed to hear. With his eyes burning he drew and arrow and slung it across the bow, drawing it back. "Man she had the hottest mouth you..."His words were cut short when they see an arrow through his neck. The man dropped dead and the others drew their swords, jumping to their feet. "Who's out there? Show yourself?"
"Why should I? You scum don't care about those you hurt. Why should I be noble enough to reveal who I am?" His voice echoed, making it seem as though her were all over. Another arrow whizzed through the air, striking another man in the face. "Foul demon you will pay for this. Fire where the arrows come from." One of the bandits strung a bow and fired an arrow right in Star's direction. When he let it loose the umbreon used Extreme Speed and moved quickly out of its path as it struck the tree. Star pulled the arrow from the tree and fired it back, killing another bandit. "You were a little off there. Care to try again?" Before another arrow was fired in his direction, Star preformed Substitute, replacing himself with nothing more than a copy as he moved to another spot. The arrow flew and struck his copy, making it fall to the bushes below. "We got him. Bastard thought he could tangle with us did he?" An arrow whizzed from another location and killed the archer. "Fuck there are more?"
"Nope I'm sorry to say, I am the only one." He replied. Star had clicked the button Grimwold had said and the monocle flipped down over his eye. With just a slight nudge he was able to zoom in and out. Quietly drawing another arrow he aimed for the back of the leader's head and fired. The arrow hit dead on its mark, throwing the man forward with the sheer force of the impact. "I grow tired of this so perhaps I will show you whom will kill you." Star had jumped down and stepped from the bushes. He took off his quiver and set both that and the bow on the ground and drew his sword. By now it was engulfed in the ethereal white flames like before. "BASTARD!" One of them shouted before charging at him. He was clumsy and left himself wide open which Star took advantage of and carved a deep slice acrossed his chest. The man fell dead before he even had a chance to lift his sword. "Five down, ten to go."
The rest of the group all charged him at once, hoping to get the upper hand since they outnumbered him. But this was no ordinary boy. With the rage and anger building up within him, it awakened something deep inside himself, something that gave him unbelievable powers.
A woman gasped as she awoke from her sleep. "Sister what is it?" Another spoke. "My son, has awoken."
"Avyion, are you sure?" The other woman came into view. She wore a light blue gown with a deep blue breastplate. She wore glows the came up to her forearms. Her hair matched the color of her armor and it flowed like the waves of the ocean. Upon her brow sat a golden tiara with sapphires studded into it. Her lighter blue eyes watched her sister closely. "Yes, I can feel it. He has finally awoken from his slumber."
Back at the encampment, every man save for one was dead and Star was covered in blood, indeed he did look like I demon. His eyes and bands glow fiercely. The one remaining bandit stood before him but then threw away his sword and dropped to him his knees, begging for his life. "Mercy? Where was your mercy when you raped and beat that innocent woman!" With one clean swing Star had cut the man's head clear from his body. Panting heavily Star walked back and grabbed his things, leaving the freshly disembodied corpses to fester and rot. He walked back to town, allowing his anger and rage to burn out of him.
"Star? Are you ok?" An ethereal voice spoke. "Yes Shelia I am fine. I just need some rest that's all."
"You know I don't like it when you do things like that on your own without telling me first." Her concerned voice was coming from the crystal around his neck. "Believe me Shelia I have been through much worse." It took some time before he arrived at the doctors home and walked in. One of the nurses who was still up, gasped in shock. "By the goddess young man how are you still moving? Ill get the doctor right away."
"Don't bother, it's not my blood."He walked back into Kathlyn's room, set his stuff again the wall and flopped into the chair beside the sleeping blaziken. He was exhausted and wanted nothing more than to let the darkness take him to sleep.
