Where the Real Dream Ends
WARNING: This piece of fiction makes no sense and will leave more questions than answers! The emotional train wreck that you are about to read will make less sense than a walking, talking kangaroo... Oh, wait, I forgot what audience this is. Nevermind about that. It will make you go insane with questions and empty thoughts, though. You have been warned.
"I don't suppose you have a speech ready for your idea of convincing my parents they're dreaming, do you?"
"Oh, man! What are we gonna do? We're screwed! We're screwed! We're screwed!"
Kody ran his fingers roughly through his hair, not realizing just how much he was pulling out. He was thinking out loud, pacing back and forth quickly between his bed and the wall while Rachael still sat panicked on the bed. Her mouth was set slightly agape as she panted out shallow breaths. The hair on the back of Kody's neck was bristled and his palms were sweating.
"Analyze the situation," he continued aloud, "I just need to analyze the situation first. It can't be that bad. It smells like stale sex in here, there's a naked kangaroo-girl sitting on my bed, and mom should be coming up the stairs to yell at me for not answering her any second."
He turned to Rachael who, if one could see the skin below the fur on her face, was a pale white. "I think I'm gonna be sick," she finally stated, cradling her stomach in her arms.
Kody could hear his mother's footsteps. His door was closed, so there was a chance she hadn't yet been able to smell the happenings of the previous night and morning. He only had one shot at making the thought work, so he chose his words carefully as he turned the doorknob. "Oh, mom, hang on. I'm sorry I didn't answer back, but I've been feeling sick ever since you left, and my sinuses are stuffed up, so I can't hear."
His mom had stopped at the bottom of the stairs and was softly consoling him as Rachael let out a loud groan from behind. Immediately she asked what it was. Kody was quick to think on his feet. "It was, um, my stomach. I really need to use the bathroom, but don't go in my room," he caught himself, "because there's tissues all over the place and I need to pick them up."
"Aw, okay sweetie. I'll go and grab some of the bismuth from our cabinet. You go to the bathroom; I'll just slip it in the doorway when I come up."
Thank God she's in a sympathetic mood, he thought, she must've bought something nice while she was shopping. Turning swiftly, Kody looked to the source of the sound that nearly compromised his sly deceit. "Rachael, you didn't have to help out, I had it all under control. Rachael? Are you okay?"
Her arms were wrapped tighter around her abdomen as she moaned out quietly in pain. The answer to Kody's question was obvious. Without thinking he ran over to the edge of the bed, pulled her up, then roughly and quickly escorted her out the door--making sure to close it--and down the hall to the bathroom, closing that door too as soon as they were in.
Before he could do anything Rachael wrenched herself from his grasp and practically jumped to the toilet. The sounds that Kody heard made him wish that he hadn't. Once she emptied her stomach she was left with nothing but dry heaves.
"Here you go, sweetie," his mother said as the door cracked open, "is there anything else that you need?"
A pink bottle was set down before the door was hesitantly closed. Kody was still somewhat bewildered as to why Rachael was so sick and didn't immediately reply. As an almost automated response to someone being sick, he asked, "Mom? Do you think you could make me some soup?"
It wouldn't be for him. As he looked to Rachael's prone figure, his response made more sense. Maybe she just needs something in her stomach, he thought. His mother had already delivered her answer, and walked back down the stairs before Kody had even thought about if she was going to make soup or not. He hoped she would.
"Rachael," he paused as he turned to face her wholly, "are you going to be alright?"
She since had finished emptying her guts and was making weak attempts to stand up. Kody quickly stepped over to assist, helping her to where she wanted to go. They stopped at the sink, where Rachael turned on the water and slowly washed her face. "I think I really need some mouthwash and a shower."
"Before either, do you think that you should take some medicine? Or do you think everything is out by now?" As he asked Kody reached for his mouthwash, handing it to Rachael softly.
"I'll be fine just as soon as I get this taste out of my mouth," she mumbled, taking a swig from the bottle before she finished her statement.
Neither Kody nor Rachael knew why she had so abruptly become ill, yet neither could complain about her even stranger miraculous recovery. Without warning, Kody turned straight around and found himself turning on the water for the shower. Rachael took that as a hint and stepped over as well.
"I don't know how hot or cold you like it, so just tell me how this is and I'll change it from there." Kody's hand stayed at the single shower knob while his eyes traversed back to Rachael. She gave a smile, putting out her paw under the spray of water.
"That's perfect just like that. Nowhere near cold, and not scalding hot."
Without warning she stepped into the water, splashing just a little on Kody's face and arms. He flinched, stepping back to avoid any more spray. By the time he reclaimed his composure the shower door was closed and Rachael's silhouette stood out against the steamed glass. His eyes were set on her figure, swaying gently back and forth, turning periodically, arms lifting, breasts protruding. From the side they looked astoundingly perfected, as though made by Pygmalion himself. Rachael was his Galatea.
"Kody," her voice pierced through the ambient sound of running water, "do you think that you could do me a favor?"
"Oh, um, sure. What do you need?"
"Could you... come in and help me wash my back? I'm can't reach some of the places around my shoulder blades very well."
Before Kody's mind could catch up he was tugging off his pants without even taking the time to unbutton them. The shower door opened for only a split second before closing back, not letting out a single drop. An inch from his dripping nose was a furred mass that blurred out his peripheral vision. Rachael was facing away from him, the water pouring down onto her front.
The shower stall was meant for one person to have ample room to move about, so space wasn't all that lacking. Rachael had only positioned the spigot to spray toward the middle and was standing in direct line with the current. When the sound of the shower door closing was finally processed in her mind she turned around, shampoo bottle in hand. "I hope you don't mind me using up all of your shampoo."
Kody's eyes went wide and his jaw locked as two perfectly sculpted mounds swayed in front of him. Yes, he had seen them before, but it was a mix of being so caught off guard and a strange affinity for the way water creased every hair of her body together to make a unified sheet of fur. Quickly he averted his gaze before his attraction got the best of his actions.
Though rude, he refrained from speaking and only reached for the bottle in her hand. Rachael, the brilliant one she was, understood Kody's infatuation and twisted back around. For a moment, only the water pressed against her soaked fur. Then a single hand touched her shoulder followed by a second on her the other. Tentatively the fingers started to move in a massaging fashion.
A lather slowly built up on Rachael's back as Kody perused lower and lower down her spine. Each stroke and circle left soap residue until every inch was covered at least once. He dared reach no further than the small of her back, yet even so his imagination had bested him. Blood flowed away from his fingers down until his head felt light. Senses flaring, Kody realized the situation he put himself in had become dangerously tentative.
"Rachael? I think that I'm done back here," he stuttered out, barely intelligible by any standards.
No sooner had he delivered his status report she turned 'round, smile pursing her small jowls. "Thank you, Kody. Now I can wash you--oh my," her voice trailed as she noticed a no longer flaccid Kody pointing right at her.
Quickly trying to hide his shame, Kody muttered out an apology. Rachael placed a paw under his sinking chin and lifted his gaze to hers. "It's okay. I was wondering if you would want to try it here anyway."
"No," Kody abruptly blurted out, "you're sick. I mean, not that you're not clean, but... it's just that, you know, I don't want you to think that's all I think of and..."
Cut short, his lips were met with a soft furred pair. He closed his eyes and envisioned a look of euphoria plastered on Rachael's face. As their two tongues swirled and intertwined his excitement grew even more until his idle hands took hold on the two pert mounds on Rachael's chest. Water continued to pour down on the two bodies as the heat they created started to rise.
The passion between the two quickly elevated from hot and heavy breathing to deep gasps and moans. Rachael loved every grope and pinch Kody delivered as her own paws fondled every inch of his skin that they could reach. Growing anxious, Rachael began to paw over Kody's hands, pressing them against her breasts harder than before. Kody responded by tweaking each nipple firmly. She gave a mixed growl and moan.
The sounds filling the bathroom gradually grew louder and louder, almost to the point of being heard over the rushing water. After an abrupt change in position, Kody found himself staring at Rachael's back as she bent over and rested her arms against the shower wall. With her head turned to face him, Rachael nodded with an 'I want you to do it this way' expression. Kody held no qualms with the idea.
Inches away from paradise, his shaft quivered with anticipation. Pressing ever forward, the two touched and Rachael jumped. The shower continued to pour out over and down her back, making her excitement indistinguishable from the warm water dripping down her precious folds of flesh. That little contact alone made her realize just how enamored she was.
Kody had since stopped, worried for her wellbeing. Rachael shifted her hips back and forth, begging him to continue. Words could no longer emphasize the actions she longed for. Kody felt intimidated yet still persisted forward until his thighs pressed against Rachael's backside. Immediately warmth encompassed his length and his knees shook unsteadily.
The shower door provided a steady base for Kody to maintain his balance as he began thrusting. Every sensation seemed amplified through the water. The very sounds they were making echoed around them as Rachael gasped each time Kody neared pulling all the way out, only to embed himself right back to the hilt. With each thrust she found herself inching closer to climax than before, yet Kody still knew he would be spent far before she would be able to.
He continued at an almost desperate pace until luck struck him with an idea. Kody stopped momentarily and hunched himself over until his chest was almost flat against Rachael's back. An abrupt and awkward transition later he continued to pump his hips toward Rachael, catching her off guard enough that a yelp escaped her lips.
Kody wrapped his arms around her body. Each hand had a separate agenda; one rose to her bosom, the other sank down until his fingertips felt a protruding nub right above where he had been bucking his hips. The added sensations gave her unsteady knees such a jolt that she nearly slipped. Her mind was sent into euphoria. It was as though her body begged for release, and was going to reach the peak no matter what.
Her body convulsing, Rachael moaned all the louder, no longer concerned with reserve to anyone but herself. An electric current raced from her inner thighs out to the very tips of her claws. The muscled inner walls of her quivering flesh tightened sharply and clenched against the pulsing shaft still inside her.
A scream was the final trigger for Kody as he held firm to Rachael's haunches, releasing himself into her. The rushed blur of the becoming familiar moment struck the both of them simultaneously, nearly causing them to collapse on top of one another.
Without a word spoken between the both of them Kody and Rachael cleaned themselves again. It seemed the moment had come and gone too soon, leaving only an awkward silence. Kody knew the seriousness of the situation and played through multiple scenarios in his head, revealing a sentient kangaroo creature to his mother. No matter what perspective he took, the outcome always came back to a grim conclusion.
Rachael, on the other hand, could only concentrate on her own shortness of breath and rapid heartbeat. Had her own expectations been exceeded? She thought so. Kody had surprised her in a way she never would have expected, and it clearly showed in the warm feeling that still lingered.
"Rachael?"
Kody addressed her, but her mind was still taken with other things. He placed a hand on her arm and spoke again, "Rachael?"
This time her head snapped up. "Huh? Oh--oh! Kody, I'm sorry. I was just thinking about something. What did you need?"
"I think we need to tell my mom about you. There's no way I'd be able to hide you for very long, and I think she's already suspicious of me. So I'm going to go downstairs and tell her and hope that she doesn't freak out. I want you to come down with me. Are you okay with that?"
The look on Kody's face almost scared Rachael. He had a calm and serious tone of voice, but his eyes gave away what he truly felt; fear. So much fear, in fact, that tears began to form in the corners. And yet he was still going to go through with it. Rachael was in awe. "Kody, I'm okay with it, but are you sure that you're okay with it? Are you sure that you're ready?"
"I'm ready."
No more words were spoken. Silent, quiet contemplation overtook the air. What would happen when he told her? Would she believe him? When she saw her, what would she do? Would he lose her? Question upon question flowed through his mind, yet Kody remained focused. Each footstep rattled his mind and shook his wavering determination. His body felt like lead; like it was going to freeze, fall over and never move again. He wouldn't have complained if it had happened.
His room still reeked of stale sex and sweat. He was glad that they only stopped there to change into clothes. For the first time since he first set eyes upon her, Rachael had clothes on. A t-shirt and a pair of shorts that were far too tight to be presentable, but it would have to make due. Kody didn't have anything that would have remotely fit her muscular thighs. His admiration lasted only a second before determination once again overtook his thoughts.
The staircase had never seemed more daunting than now. Each step down was another step closer to the possibility that he might never see Rachael again. It wasn't until he was two steps from the bottom that he couldn't go any further. Stopped dead in his tracks, he clenched his fists while a tear fell to the floor.
"I can't do this..."
Rachael had expected Kody to stop, and had started moving past him when he suddenly pulled at her arm. Had it not been for her tail slamming against the stair rail she would have fallen back as he turned her abruptly. The face she saw this time matched the eyes that were so full of fear. His eyes were reddening as tears silently fell down his cheeks. He looked more like a kid now than ever.
"Rachael, I don't wan to lose--"
"Kody," she interjected, "you're not going to lose me, I promise." Cradling his head against her shoulder Rachael continued to comfort him, "You've got to be strong Kody. It isn't the end of the world. Besides, since when has someone's mother not understood even the most complicated of stories? That's what moms do."
Feeling the warmth of both her shoulder and her words Kody almost immediately felt better. He was still terrified, but at least knew that she stood behind him. Drying his eyes both on her arm and his own, he gave her a smile and a nod, then turned and hopped over the last step to the floor. The doorway to the kitchen was just around the corner and down the hall. He could hear the radio his father installed so his mother could listen to music while cooking. A popular alternative rock song from the same station Kody normally listened to. She was singing along, though off-key. He couldn't help but laugh.
"Kody, is that you? You sound better, did that shower help? Oh, and your soup is ready."
The thought slipped Kody's mind, but Rachael gasped in shock. She heard the shower running, does that mean she heard... There was no time for her to react; Kody was already rounding the corner. Her heart beat even faster. There goes my good first impression...
Kody faced his mother. She was sorting through pots and pans of different shapes and sizes, oblivious to Kody's change in location. He couldn't believe he was actually going to try and explain this. Giving a lengthy sigh, he cleared his throat and started, "Mom, I have something to tell you..."
