"Of course, not us," The zubat said with a smile, his squinting eyes glimmering slightly. And as everyone seemed to stop in the middle of what they were doing and silence swept the crowd, they knew it as well. The question was, what sort of disaster was heading their way. Kat finally took her hands off her ears and blinked for a few seconds. She looked around and spotted some people already heading back to the village, figuring it was safer than to stick around where an Absol had howled, and honestly, she figured the same thing. "Come, I'll treat your headache back at the hut." She whispered to him, instinct causing her to be slightly transparent at the moment.

He shook his head, but took her hand anyway. The crowd behind them was confused, and some tried to finish what they were doing before heading back. Others went back with mates in their arms, and some began to leave in a hurry, figuring they would reconvene after the disaster passed. if anything was to happen, they thought, others unsure of if anything really was going to go down.

Kat held his hand, feeling a little better with his warm hand in hers, uncertain of what to do. Part of her needed to get away from here as soon as possible but... She couldn't leave Mike, she refused. So she stood by his side a little nervous, but took deep breaths to calm herself down and it helped a lot. "Do you have any idea what's coming?" She asked him, looking up to him while the crowd did what they wished.

He stayed silent, looking down as he thought of what had caused him to do that. He shook his head, but decided they should return to the village. They were about to go, then he stopped. "Kairi," he said, turning back.

Kat turned around and scanned the crowd for her friend, but couldn't manage to spot her. The Vaporeon wasn't there. "Hey, Kairi, where'd ya go?" She called out, looking for any signs of the blue fish, as she headed back and floated through the crowd. Maybe she had gone back to the village already, or maybe she was a little ways into the forest, but either way, they had to find her.

Before they could, however, a loud explosion went off at the outskirts of the clearing, and black smoke billowed out. The confused pokemorphs were sent into a panic, running in the opposite direction of the explosion. The black smoke rolled out into the clearing, and as pokemorphs got stuck inside, they began getting poisoned and paralyzed, as a toxic cloud was formed. However, something stepped out into the middle of the area, followed by a few more figures as the smoke rolled past.

Kat got caught in the smoke, and it sent her into a coughing fit as it filled her lungs. She placed an arm over her mouth and nose to try and filter it out, but already felt it taking effect as it was harder to move her limbs. She seemed to have lost Mike in the confusion and spun around, trying to make him out through the smoke. "Mike!" She called out as she found him, but coughed again as she inhaled more of the toxic cloud. She glanced to where the figures had entered and glared, thinking they were probably the source of this. Still, get out of the cloud first, then fight. She grabbed his hand and pulled him forward, towards the outside of the cloud.

He had covered his mouth before the cloud had covered the area, grabbing her as she found him and dragging her out of the toxic air. As the smoke cleared some, Five figures stood in the middle of the clearing. One of them, forward of the rest, was a Koffing girl, with purple skin and a mouth on either of her shoulders, which were leaking black toxic smoke. Behind her, a rocky looking male was something like a golem. And behind them, three humans stood, decked out in red and black. Two males, one female. They had their arms crossed over their chests, and they were looking pleased.
