A/N: *starts to Tear up* I am sad to say that there is only one more chapter till you will have to wait for the block to hit. Its been a great run and I love each and everyone of you that has favorited and reviewed. Well I hope I don't disappoint and now onto the next chapter.

Chapter Twenty Six

The forest was dead silent, unnatural and hair raising. The air weighed on everyone's lungs and made them pant, breaths appearing before them in clouds. They were far from the cave, too far to be safe. Located at the southern edge of their territory, just miles away from the humans, the distance made them all want to bolt back and hide in their thick forest instead of this sparse land.

The trees were far apart, almost too far to count as adequate coverage. The vulnerability made the wolves uneasy but it was their land. They had every right to be down there. But still, something was off.

If they gave up at least they could kill a cow or horse to feed the pack but there was no reason to go back. There was something there. They had followed it all night, having caught its trail in the evening. It was leading them zigzag through their territory, almost losing them but they were persistent.

Adrex crouched next to Sire, hidden by shrubbery. Sire was glaring at the tree tops ahead, eyes pinpoints of amber.

It was an odd feeling, the thrill of the hunter and the terror of the hunted. Adrex wasn't sure what they were at this point.

Gira sat on the small overhang that arched over the lake. A small gust blew silver tipped locks over her face, wrapping around her cheek and tickling her nose. She let go of her forearm to tuck that loose strand behind a pointed ear before wrapping it back around her knees. It had been a week now and no sign of Adrex. He sent back messengers, telling of his progress or bringing home the large game they killed but no him.

She hated this, this helpless feeling. Her chest ached, head pounded, and body restless. She had random fits of rage, snapping at anyone, before breaking down in frustrated sobs in private.

A single crystal tear slid down her cheek, leaving a glistening trail. Without permission more followed, streaking her face in rivulets that shimmered in the morning light. She heard before smelling her son exit the den.

Zaren sat next to his mother, copying her position.

With the heel of her hand Gira wiped away her tear stains. "It's cold. You should go inside."

Zaren mumbled out. "It's not that cold."

He was right but still, Gira wanted him back inside and hidden from her weakness. "Where's Daria?"

"With her mate."

"Oh... He's going out today, isn't he? Back to your father? It makes sense she would want to be with him."

Zaren kept his gaze on the half frozen lake. "I'll be fine."

Gira looked at him, confused and shocked. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, I'll be okay, if you decide to go after him."

"I wouldn-"

"I'll be fine. Derek will keep me safe, or I could go to Kadell."

"I'm not going to abandon you."

Grey eyes that mirrored hers looked up and into her soul. Zaren had a way of doing that, his eyes penetrating others. It was eerie and almost haunting.

"It'll be okay."

"How do you feel?"

"Better, not perfect but not in excruciating pain either."

"Do you need another pillow?"

"No, I'm alright."

"Blanket?"

"No-"

"Towel? Food? Pain medicine? I'll go get you some."

"Derek!" Moku snatched at the full blood's wrist, holding him before he could dart away and nearly overdose him again. "I'm fine. I don't need anything."

"Oh... okay." Derek flopped back down. His eyes darted around the room, looking at everything but a half naked Moku. The smaller wolf rolled his eyes at that. Derek had been fretting over him for the past week but never truly met his eyes. Every time he did, something that closely resembling a blush would appear and the eye contact would be broken before the full blood bolted out, saying that he had to go get something.

Nothing had progressed after their kiss upon Moku's momentary revival. The artic wolf wasn't even sure if it had really happen or not. He had been half drugged at the time and very loopy. But it felt so real and Derek's tongue slick and thick against his.

Okay, he must have been drugged out of his mind.

Moku caught in his peripheral vision silver eyes flicking over his bare chest, following the lines and tan skin.

That made the boy flush and shift. He felt uncomfortable. He didn't know what to do with Derek anymore. He never had a... what were they exactly? Lovers? No, that would have to include something else that he didn't even want to think about. Boyfriends? He shuddered. No. Too weird.

Why didn't Derek just kiss him? What happened to the forward boy that pestered him and eye fucked his ass like it was his job? At least with that Derek he didn't have to think about what to do next or how he really, really, really wanted to make out but didn't know how to go through with such a request.

Now that made the boy blush. But it was true. He wanted to know if that kiss before was as amazing as he thought or if it was the drugs.

Moku stared at Derek's lips determinedly. Kiss me. He attempted to telepath. Kisssss meeee... KISS ME! Kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kiss me, kissmekissmekissmekissme-

"Moku... can I... can I kiss you?"

He meeped. "Uhh..." Oh god, what should he do? "Um..." A pink tongue flicked out to wet Derek's lips and blue eyes widened. "Mngh..." His heart was trying to burst through his rib cage and tackle Derek. "Nhh..." Derek was getting too close for comfort. "Ah..." Beads of sweat sprouted across his forehead. Derek nuzzled Moku's head with his, trying to get the other to look up. "Der-"

"HEY! How's our little patient doing?"

Moku almost felt tears of joy burst forth and shoved Derek away more violently than he meant to. Thank god for nosey friends with bad timing! Then he caught Derek's dark and foreboding expression. Make that soon to be deceased friends.

"Don't you guys have any sense?" Derek snapped out, a vein pulsing in his forehead. "He needs rest! Out!"

Ludus stopped in his boisterous steps, Ethan nearly colliding into him. "Well excuse me for being friendly. I'll take my good cheer and humor elsewhere then."

"How are you feeling, Moku?" Ethan asked, concern evident in his voice and eyes.

That made a pang of raw jealousy start up in Derek. Why was Ethan being so friendly with Moku? Moku was his! Right?

"I'm doing better." Moku replied with a smile, sitting up with a little difficulty. It still hurt but not unbearably.

"Well that's good." Ethan smiled. "We'll leave you to your rest."

Derek watched his annoying friends leave with a glare, wishing they'd get caved in somewhere so that he could have some privacy with Moku.

Something brushed against his cheek quickly and his hand immediately reached up to touch the spot with his fingertips. Silvery eyes looked down at a settling Moku, catching the bright red flush.

"Did you just kiss my cheek?"

Moku rolled onto his side, back towards the full blood, and curled up as much as his injuries would allow him. The furs were tucked almost to his chin.

Derek took the silence and the flush to be a yes.

He laid down also, chest almost touching Moku's back. He propped himself up on his elbow, his other hand hovering over the boy's side. He waved it back and forth, looking for an appropriate place to put it. He considered hip but he was sure Moku would flinch away from it. He chose arm, being sure to be gentle because it was the same arm that had been dislocated. It was still tender.

He let his cheek rest on the shoulder, just enough pressure to let Moku know he was touching him but his main weight was on his forearm. After he felt that shoulder relax he turned his head, lips pressing against tanned skin. Silver eyes locked onto Moku's half hidden face and he kissed that spot.

He flinched back, half expecting Moku to lash out at him. The boy just tensed a little bit, sucking in breath. After a few seconds he relaxed, letting his shoulder drop a little to reveal more of his face and neck.

Derek kissed his shoulder again, fingertips grazing up and down the boy's arm. He brushed back white strands, removing the last curtain over the boy's face and neck. He let his fingers glide over the tan skin before leaning down and giving that cheek a whispery kiss. When Moku didn't react, he gave a little firmer kiss but it was still soft.

His support arm slid, forearm near Moku's head and hand curling around to stroke silky strands. His other went back to resting on Moku's arm, not sure if he should pet or grip.

He rained gentle kisses over the boy's face but rain was too harsh of a word. There was a five second pause between each, never straying too far from the original spot. It was never more than a brush of lips, a whisper of affection. Moku responded by slowly melting, eyes drifting closed to enjoy the sensations.

Derek kissed the curve of Moku's jaw, right below his ear, and the boy tilted his head, exposing his neck. Derek didn't hesitate, running the back of his finger down the exposed skin before continuing on.

Moku let out a whispery sigh, enjoying the gentle sensation. It wasn't pleasure but it wasn't bad. It was something he never felt before. He didn't want it to stop.

Derek traveled along his jaw and Moku rolled onto his back, head tilting back to fully expose his neck. He was leaving himself vulnerable and the jolt of fear went straight to his groin and it made him blush.

Lips were grazing his neck, kisses no longer there. They traveled along his pulse, under his jaw and down the side. A kiss was pressed against him mid neck but the lips traveled on. Moku was starting to get impatient, not knowing when the kiss would come but craving for more when it did. Some times it was over his pulse, behind his ear, under his jaw, on the junction where neck met shoulder. But it was there where Derek paused, kissing a little harder, breathing against it, kissing repeatedly. It began to tingle, Moku's shoulder dropping down lower and neck arch back farther.

Derek open his mouth and sucked.

"Aah-ha!"

Moku tensed, hands snapping up to grip Derek's biceps. The full blood continued, switching between sucking and kissing. Moku squirmed a little, small gasps escaping. Pleasure was hot and fuzzy there, fuzzy being the only way he could describe it. It didn't remain in that area but fizzled out and around, making him pant.

A clawed hand entangled into Derek's black and brown streaked hair, pressing the boy harder against it and encouraging him to do more. The full blood took the hint and sucked harder, mouthing the spot. Moku mewled, tugging on the strands a little bit, urging the boy higher and there!

Moku's shoulder snapped down so hard it almost hurt, his back arching up. He shivered, claws biting into Derek's arm. He gripped the other, legs pressing together and toes curling. His body tensed, pleasure fogging his mind. He didn't want it to stop. He wanted more. He wanted harder, biting, and so much more.

Derek gave the spot a lick before sliding up Moku's neck, kissing right under the jaw. He let out a dark and lusty chuckle, licking at the boy's pulse. "I guess you liked it?"

Moku flushed, eyes sliding half open. His toes hurt from gripping the furs so hard. He refused to answer. He panted in protest.

That feeling was back again.

Gold eyes scanned the cave and saw nothing. He sniffed the air. All he could smell was the musk of sex and Kadell's earthy scent. He was in a cave with only one entrance and a very powerful wolf demon sleeping soundly next to him. It was impossible to be hunted in a cave. It was unnatural. Kadell would've shifted, done something. It didn't make sense. He couldn't be hunted here.

"Liolyn."

The cat demon jerked, hackles rising and tail fluffing embarrassingly. "You're awake?"

Kadell reached out and tugged the cat back down. "Come back to bed."

Gold eyes met silver that had a steel look to them. They were hard and had a threatening tint to them. He didn't argue but he did wonder if Kadell could sense it too. The body against his back told him how tense his lover actually was.

"Circle back around!"

"He's too fast!"

"JUST DO IT!"

Sire dropped back, a section off the back falling with him. Adrex sprinted on, eyes wide and trying not to miss anything. It was in the trees and he wasn't confident in his speed on branches to go up there also. They were getting closer and had pushed it around to go northwest, more towards fox territory and Kadell. The creature was getting desperate, he was making dangerous mistakes and obviously was lost. Branches were falling, raining to the ground along with pine needles and leaves. His path was getting easier and easier to follow. They were so close.

There was a crunch outside, quiet enough for Liolyn to almost miss it if he wasn't listening so intently. The cat demon tensed immediately, hackles straight up and tail three times normal size. Kadell made no move, no sound. Liolyn wished he was facing the wolf so he could see what he looked like instead of the opening. The crunch almost came from above them, like something was up the mountain instead of down and near the mouth of the cave.

And Liolyn remembered there was a gap in rocks near the ceiling.

Before he had time to panic the feeling vanished. It was so sudden and abrupt that Liolyn was left dazed afterwards.

Something resembling fear but somehow related to relief but closer to dread washed over him. That couldn't be good.

A loud screech came from the trees and something fell from them. Sire landed a few yards away, growling and snarling at the heap. The wolves quickly circled it before it had time to recover.

The form trembled, back rising and falling rapidly as it panted audibly. It gasped and choked on air, trying to get it to catch up. Multicolored hair fanned over its face, auburn and gold blending together with rings of black randomly dispersed. The skin that was showing on its arms looked as if a mixture of bronze and gold dust had been smeared over it, shimmering and dazzling.

Adrex found his eyes sliding down the creature's body, studying the dark brown leather that covered its body, the grey fur along the edges of the vest shirt to signify that it was fur lined. The pants were sinful and he had to remind himself that he had a mate and perfectly happy and well sexed. The golden tail with black rosette spots and ending with rings swished, signifying that the creature was rising.

The body stood fluidly, legs straightening before back rolling up and head lolling back to look at the trees. The creature let out a "huh" when it saw that there were wolves stationed there, keeping it from its desirable escape route.

"Hskala hsna ushak rahlem..."

Adrex let out a low threatening growl, mind straining to remember the cat demon's language.

"What the hell is he saying?" one of the wolf demons rumbled out, getting closer to the ground.

"I have no clue." Adrex replied, claws flexing and lips curling up to reveal fangs out of reflex. "Just grab him."

"I speak..." the cat demon purred out, head lolling to the side to look at Adrex. "This... is does... good not look. I think. I not speak well wolf. Vrah hskna kanix mrahna."

Adrex glared into those cat eyes, a haunting murky yellow green that had a glint of mischief. There was something off with this cat.

The cat demon rolled his shoulders, head still cocked to the side. His eyes became heavy lidded and a dreamy half smile slid into place. It made Adrex uncomfortable seeing the cat almost face him but his feet did not move from their original place, just his back twisted almost all the way around. There was something off about the way he acted.

"Let's just get this filthy creature and go home." A wolf to the right of Adrex spat out.

The lusty chuckle that the cat uttered made Adrex's skin crawl. "Why don't you come over here and I'll show you how filthy I really am?" A tongue slid over sharp and dangerous fangs in a sultry manner, drawing everyone's attention to it and the man's lithe and sensual form.

"That was pretty good wolf for something that claims to be bad at it." Adrex said darkly.

The cat smirked. "Know essentials."

"Are you high? Drunk? Insane?"

The cat chuckled. "No... just vhenala, lusty."

"Uh huh. Shackle him."

The cat giggled as two wolves warily approached. "Kinky, yes? Fun now." He held up his hands in a sign of surrender. "I easy but still be rough. I that like."

Sire roughly grabbed the cat's wrists, making the cat's back roll and shiver. A wolf stood before him, making sure he didn't try anything funny. The first cuff snapped onto the cat's wrist and the cat moved so quickly that he caught everyone by surprise.

He broke his free hand out of Sire's grip and snatched the wolf's, the one in front of him, hair. He yanked, forcing the distance between them to close and kissed the wolf passionately.

Everyone froze in shock, horror, and, in some cases, arousal.

Sire looked uncertain from where his hands had snapped out to grab the back of the cat's neck.

The captured wolf had one hand on the cat's shoulder and other on his wrist, trying to get him to release his hair. But he didn't look like he was resisting too much. One of the cat's legs had wrapped around the wolf, pressing their bodies flush.

After what seemed like eternity the cat pulled away, making it obvious that his tongue had been in the wolf's mouth. He leaned forward to whisper into the wolf's ear. "I can show you things you've never dreamed of." And somehow met Adrex's eyes as he did.

Adrex refused to show any sort of reaction to the cat's move and coughed loudly. "Sire... the shackling?"

"Oh." Sire snapped back into reality instead of his wondering why he couldn't have been the one watching to make sure the cat didn't try anything stupid. "Right."

He reached out and forced the cat's wrist back into place, the demon licking up the side of the captured wolf's face as he did. The other cuff snapped into place.

"Finally."

The cat's weight was thrown back against Sire, leg snapping out and slamming into the still dazed wolf, sending him flying. With unparallel speed and agility, the cat flipped backwards, using his kick and head against Sire's shoulder to propel him up and around. In midair his legs tucked up and arms around, swinging the chain over and pass his feet.

He landed solidly, the wolves already snapping into action and surging forward. The chain whipped around and tried to get around Sire's neck to take him as a hostage but Adrex got there first.

His hand snapped out, grabbing it and lashing his arm back, making the cat stumble. His fist slammed forward but the cat ducked down, landing on his back and rolling, foot whipping out and catching Adrex unaware.

He slipped his cuffs using them as a weapon, swinging the chain around and catching an attacker in the face. Blood splattered from his mouth and the cat knew he did well but he wasn't clear yet.

The wolves were too much, too strong, and too numerous. He tried his best but ended up crying out as claws sliced down his back. He collapsed to his knees, hissing in pain and seeing a young wolf charging at him from the front.

Big mistake.

The cat surged forward, meeting the wolf.

The fighting paused to watch as the wolf slumped over the cat, coughing up blood, eyes wide. In a flash, blood sprayed everywhere, showering over the cat demon and tainting the white purity of the snow. The young wolf demon fell to the ground, his abdomen a gaping bloody hole. Intestines and flesh lay shredded besides him.

The wolves backed away, eyes wide in shock and horror. Only a few had survived the war with the cat demons and none of them were present. It was the first time they had seen the full horror of what a cat demon was capable of. It was the most deadly and vicious attack they knew and was used on rare occasions.

The cat retracted his claws to their normal attacking length, his nail beds aching from hyper extending them. He wanted to fully retract them and suck on his fingers, trying to make the uncomfortable sensation disappear but he couldn't. He was still in danger. This was his chance to escape but the blood covering his front felt like it solidified and anchored him in place to witness the horror of what he had done. His window of opportunity had slipped away.

A roar was the only warning he received before a fist slammed into the side of his face, his own fangs slicing into his tongue on accident. He was hit again and again before he could snap out of it enough to block the next attack but it did him no good. The eyes that he looked into were full of rage and desperation, wide and terrifying.

Claws sliced across his chest and he keened loudly, back slamming into the trunk of a tree. He caught the wolf's slashing arm by the wrist and kicked hard. The wolf went flying but skidded to a halt to launch another attack.

The cat panted before throwing his head back and screamed something that was a cross between a screech and roar, a call for help.

Liolyn's head snapped up, his ears picking up a faint but familiar noise. Every muscle in his body tensed, dread and fear dripping down his chest and stomach. It felt like bile was crawling its way up his throat. It wasn't until he heard it a second time did he snap into action.

"Daemon..."

He surged forward but something snatched him and threw him back onto the furs.

"No." Kadell breathed out, eyes hard and determined.

Liolyn looked frantic, gold eyes wide and searching, breathing erratic. "He's in trouble!"

"No!" Kadell placed all his weight on the cat. "It's too late! He's too far! If you go now you'll only fall into their hands-"

"I NEED TO SAVE HIM!"

Liolyn somehow got his feet under Kadell and onto his chest. He launched the wolf off him and the full blood crashed into the wall.

He looked up desperately as the cat clumsily pulled on his shoes. "I can't lose you."

Liolyn paused for a millisecond before fastening the last strap. "I'm already gone."

The last thing Kadell saw was the tip of a multi patterned tail.
